Fun little rogue dungeon crawler, been playing through it 2 player with a friend and we've had a good laugh. Getting stronger and more effective each time we hit the dungeons.

I have bought maybe 30 games on discount with the plans to play them later, and maybe have played 4 of them since buying, and I'm glad and upset I decided to jump into this one. I love the progression and different heroes, and the fact I can bounce between them and use higher level ones to easily level up the other ones to get the bonuses. However, I hate the RNG on the ores, and sometimes the game just freezes for no reason and I have to force close it. Also don't like that some of the heroes are OP, and others are just straight trash. Overall though, it's crazy how addictive it is and that I've put 30+ hours into it in less than two weeks. Would def recommend and can't wait to check out HOHII once I max out all my guys.
I want to love this game, truly but I can't.
The art is great, the concept is great, it feels great to play. As someone who LOVED Hammerwatch 1, it's just more replay value.
However this has some MAJOR problems. I get as an old school roguelite, you're supposed to do multiple runs to beat a campaign, you're not supposed to do 100s of runs to finally see the end. While some might say that is a skill issue, I'd argue that you can only get stronger without dying, and even then the resources collected during the run don't add up.
Why would you spend 100 ores and 30k gold for a meagre +5 atk when you collect 15 ore and 2.5k gold PER RUN???
And don't bother thinking about cheating in order to accelerate farming: the devs have put time and effort again and again to ensure tools like cheat engine are ineffective, otherwise the multiplayer would be impacted.
I would rather have devs putting time and effort into balancing or new content but hey they do them.
Unable to play crossplay with GOG Galaxy due to neither version sharing the same update, GOG too old, Steam doesn't allow old game versions to be played

相當無聊，前期經驗值少，怪物偏多，也很難讓你農。
再加上從地牢中往外送你賺取的錢跟物資需要扣手續費，這倒是還好，有點代價很正常。
但是這手續費會逐漸提高，還不是以每局開始下地牢去算的，而是送一次就提高一次，即使你死了出了地牢下次進來還是繼續疊加，這懲罰有點太重了兄弟。
i like that i could play with friends. There is just enough diversity to keep me intrigued. DLC was meh. Play with friends or die.

A more roguelite/like succession for a... succession of the classical Gauntlet! Recommended for all who seek easy too learn/hard to master experience with quick play sessions.
14 hours deep and still don't have my shadow wizard money gang unlocked.

While game is fun, the problem is the gameplay loop.
You are constantly supposed to farm the same 2 materials over all levels of the game.
Killing enemies does nothing, so you just march forward attacking the air ignoring everything.
With the same character, with the same 4 skills, with basically no progression other than +5% damage every now and then.
The roguelike components are basically items that give you damage or movement speed with no other flavour.
And sometimes get as ridiculous as +200% damage or infinite life regen with a single item.
You have no health unless you get items that give you health.
Every upgrade is comically expensive for the amount of materials you get per run.
And every time you fail, back to the start, sure you can take an alternative path to go faster, but it is still wasting you time and now you get no materials for doing so.
This thing over and over, and every time you make any progression, it just takes longer to do.
