This game is absolutely wonderful. The osts go so well with the levels and the gameplay is shockingly fluid. The art style is so unique yet so simple I wish more people would have played this game. I got this game for free on epic games in like 2019 and I remember loving this game when I first played it so I just had to get it on steam. It's such a simple game but it's very very fun. I do have one con about this game and it's that getting the weapons and perks are just very grindy to get but nevertheless it doesn't ruin the main fighting part (well technically you do lose the trying out all the weapons aspect of the game but the arcade mode gives most of the better weapons) yet alas, here is my final verdict. The game is short but it has so much character it's something to remember playing. I genuinely love this game and I think it deserves some much needed appreciation !!

Got this game when it was free on epic becasue i thought it looked cool and because i had a ♥♥♥♥ pc and tried to play anygame wich it could handle.
Almost 100 hours and 5-6 years later and i have a better pc and a steam account but still like to play it frome time to time just for the arcade mode

Esse jogo é otimo, muito barato e oferece muito, modo campanha que me fez ficar 3 horas seguidas jogando e valeu muito apena, alem de ter um modo roguelike.
I am a sucker for stylization in games and this has it. I enjoyed the gameplay a good deal but above all the art direction really captured my attention. The unique atmosphere makes sure I don't forget having played it.
Decent fun, but the visuals are definitely something to get used to - not the most readable game with all the chaos. I suggest you put some gameplay in fullscreen before buying and see how your eyes react. Some color schemes are better than others, but still easy to lose track of crosshair.

Очень прикольная игра, хоть и недолго проходится, жаль раньше ее не прошел, Этот визуал просто офигенный, саундтрек больше всего понравился на зеленой(при авто). Как инди игра топчик. Единественное что вначале играл без мыши(оказывается в настройках надо включить), геймпада не было.

「なんでこれやめたんだっけ？」と完全に記憶が忘却していたのでインストールし直してプレイ。
すぐに思い出した。
この作品はルームクリア型のツインスティックアクションだ。
次々と現れる敵に対してジャンプや攻撃といったアクションで立ち回ってルーム内の敵をすべて倒すと先へ進めるという仕様となっている。
そしてこのゲーム、アートワークがひどい。
自分自身も自分の攻撃も敵も敵の攻撃も同系色なのでとにかく見づらく、これが制作者の表現したいことなのか、オプションで見づらさを改善する機能は一切ない。
あとついでに言うと操作性も悪く、ツインスティックのゲームは基本的に見下ろし型なのだが、本作は横型の2Dアクションにもかかわらずツインスティックの操作なのでとにかく遊びにくい。
キーコンフィグがあるので設定の変更は可能だが、焼け石に水である。
例えばデフォルトだと

となっていて右スティックで射角調整となっている。

オートエイムも一応あるが敵が四方八方から出現する激しいアクションでオートエイムがどれほど役に立つかなど論じるまでもないだろう。
ゲームデザインと操作が噛み合っておらず、アートワークも壊滅的な視認性となっていて、過去の自分がすぐやめたのも至極納得であった。
As so many games today put a premium on long playtimes, it is comforting that rapid-fire arcade experiences still flourish in their own space. Hell is Other Demons has a crunchy and rich visual style, great replayability, and a suitably diabolical level of difficulty.
Fun side on arena shooter, lots of fun if you like that type of game. The twin sticks plus fire dash and jump were not gelling with me. However there is an option to turn off the right stick! which actually worked really well for me. Using one stick for moving and aiming with fire on shoulder and a,z for jump and dash gave me a more chill gaming experience, just afew guns its abit more fiddly but i just kept to the automatics mainly in the campaign and was able to get by just fine.

One of the steam deck go to games. Great on PC as well. Love an arcade rogue-like. Arcade and campaign are equally as fun game play wise. So many fun skins and skills to unlock. I received this game for free off epic and was using junk store to play it on my steam deck but decided I wanted achievements and cloud saves so It was worth buying it on steam.

Hell Is Other Demons nos ofrece dos modos de juego, un modo arcade con niveles consecutivos cuyo objetivo será llegar lo más lejos posible y conseguir una puntuación elevada, y un modo historia, donde tendremos que superar diversos retos, combatir contra bosses e ir mejorando a nuestro personaje hasta alcanzar el final de la trama. Cada nivel se estructura como un escenario de reducidas dimensiones, con diversas plataformas y peligros ambientales como fosos y trampas, que deberemos sortear mientras nos liamos a balazos con oleadas de enemigos. Podremos adquirir diferentes armas y power ups, así como mejorar las características de nuestro personaje en una tienda gracias a las gemas que soltarán los enemigos al morir. Nuestro personaje se moverá con bastante soltura por el entorno, pudiendo impulsarse en el aire, realizar dobles saltos, planear, etc., habilidades imprescindibles para esquivar las decenas de proyectiles que se aglutinarán en pantalla en más de una ocasión. Los bosses serán duros de pelar, pero con paciencia y atención podremos acabar con ellos. Si algo llama la atención de Hell Is Other Demons es su apartado gráfico, un pixel art con tonos monocromáticos que crea un curioso contraste con el fondo oscuro.

Tenemos entre manos un juego de acción a raudales, con un manejo muy dinámico y preciso. La experiencia supone un reto, ya que tendremos que aprender a movernos con soltura en escenarios estrechos, esquivando trampas y disparos constantemente. A pesar de ello, no se siente injusto ni despiadado, siendo una buena opción para aquellos que quieran iniciarse en el género de los roguelike de acción 2D. El apartado gráfico resulta atractivo, así como la variedad de armas y habilidades, aunque, por otro lado, su trama es bastante sosa, con potencial, pero muy desaprovechada. Completar el juego al 100% me ha llevado unas 12 horas, funciona perfectamente en Steam Deck.

Hell is Other Demons es un juego indie con aspecto retro, que te enganchará por su acción trepidante durante un buen número de horas.
En este arcade, con una estética similar a títulos como Downwell o Cecconoid, nos pondremos en la piel de un demonio que deberá recorrer 40 niveles (divididos en 4 reinos con sus respectivos bosses finales) plagados de enemigos. En nuestro recorrido, podremos obtener gemas que nos permitirán comprar mejoras de todo tipo para tener más opciones de éxito en los niveles venideros.
Gráficamente estamos antes un juego que a pesar de su estética retro, se muestra rico en detalles y variedad de enemigos y escenarios. Además, su música trepidante encaja perfectamente con la acción desenfrenada que encontraremos en cada nivel.
La jugabilidad es excelente, con una dificultad elevada desde un principio y no apta para noveles, pero que supondrá un reto para los amantes del género. La precisión de los movimientos del personaje ayudan a que esto sea difícil, pero posible.
Además, contaremos con el modo Campaña, el modo Arcade y la opción Lava Climb, que junto con la obtención de algunos logros alargarán la vida del título a entre 10 y 20 horas.
En definitiva, estamos ante un juego técnicamente bueno y con una jugabilidad excelente que hará que se te pasen las horas volando mientras machacas tu teclado. Totalmente recomendable.

Хоть и можно было бы позалипать, но опять же тут нет русского перевода. Да и смысла в игре тоже нет. Попадаем на арену и всех пинаем либо пинают персонажа. После выпинывания начинаем сначала. Есть некие улучшения, но для идеального прохождения улучшениями пользоваться нельзя. Также есть тут некие сменные палитры одна хуже другой. Тут явно не хватает цветов и в пылу боя просто всё сливается в одну пиксельную кашу. Идея может и хорошая для аркады, но играть конкретно сложно и не особо умно. Тупо всё здесь на реакцию.
Поэтому тут для особого ранга игроков, которые страдают игровым мазохизмом и готовы тратить время на улучшение аркадных результатов. Это напоминает игровые автоматы, где играли не ради сюжета. Тут всё решает реакция и умение нажимать нужные кнопки.
Управление с китайского пульта хорошее. Все плюшки магазина тоже порадовали. Но играть долго в это трудно советовать. Лучше найти более полезное времяпровождение.

This is like one of those games you get out of a "random free game" thing on something like Humble Bundle, like I don't even remember how I found it or why I bought it, but that being said, it's alright. The gameplay is pretty fun and it looks great, but it's just so...sparse. It's more akin to a mobile game with its small scope and arcade-like gameplay, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's just that the game doesn't do much with it, it has nothing to make it stand out. It's a good game, and I'd recommend it if you're looking for some arcadey filler fun, but it's not much more than that.

Fun, fairly short but with some variety with the arcade mode and various weapon loadouts.
It's a side on twin stick shooter which constrains the controls a bit. I found it a bit difficult to manage jumping, shooting, dashing and occasionally using your ultimate. Once I got the extended dash I found it easiest to just dash upwards, holding jump so you slow fall, and staying in the air. A lot of hazards are easy to avoid this way.
Got through the game with the starting ultimate, the machine gun and then the mini-gun. Once you have it you can usually just dash up and float and spray and pray. By "spray and pray" I mean you might as well deepen your relationship with God while holding the trigger until everything dies.
Graphics are nice, readable most of the time. I think some rocks damaged me in a few levels which looked like regular enemy debris.
Note: the achievement for jumping on enemies only counts in normal levels, not the infinite ones.
The aesthetic style alone is worth the money in my opinion. But the premise and gameplay itself is also addicting enough to keep you coming back for more.

It's good, music is great, gameplay is fair.
Each level is arena where you have to fight through waves of enemies, shop provides alot of upgrades that may change gameplay drastically, also make you easily overpowered.
Beating level without getting hit once, without shooting gun and/or using ultimate gives you mark for each, quite good challenge, especially no gun one, as it leaves you with stomp attack, which is may be a bit underrated.
There's also arcade mode, and doodle jump mode, so there's quite of content here.
Couple of tips:

안 맞고 깨기, 무기 없이 밟기로만 깨기, 궁극기 없이 깨기 이런 도전 과제들이 스테이지마다 있는데 솔직히 어느 순간부터는 난이도가 확 올라서 이런 과제들이 스트레스 받거나 완전히 무시하고 맵 밀게 된다.
궁극기는 상점에서 다양하게 파는데 정작 보스전에서는 궁극기를 못 쓰는게 함정
완전 노잼은 아닌데 그렇다고 시간 안 아까울 정도였냐 하면 아니라서 비추천 합니다.

ELE É REALMENTE MUITO BOM, a única coisa que me incomoda nele é que ele tem muito conteúdo, vários modos de jogo, armas, extras, e desafios, mas infelizmente não tem NENHUM incentivo nisso, o jogo tem literalmente 5 conquistas, o que não cobre nem 50% do jogo, lembro de ter me esforçado muito para conseguir todas as medalhas do jogo, até perceber que foi TUDO em vão.
Mas isso é só um problema, em meio as coisas incríveis que esse jogo faz, recomendo muito!

única coisa que achei ruim no jogo é a falta duma lore, tipo em hotline miami ou katana zero é toda essa parada de freneticidade e tudo muito rápido mas vale a pena pois a história é muito boa e você quer ver ela se desenrolando. é bem raro achar um jogo de rítmo rápido assim pra pc fraco, rítmo rápido com boa trilha sonora e boa história mas ainda assim não deixa de ser bom.
Não seria exagero nenhum dizer que o jogo é espetacular. A pixel art e os efeitos são absurdamente bem feitos, o gameplay é divertido e viciante, isso sem nem falar na trilha sonora q é ESPETACULAR, eu com ctz vou ouvir as músicas desse jogo enquanto estiver fazendo outras coisas pq realmente me surpreendeu. Sobre pontos negativos, o modo campanha é bem curtinho e relativamente desbalanceado (o primeiro boss foi mais difícil do que um outro que fica depois dele). Quem lê isso pode pensar que os bosses posteriores foram mais difíceis que o primeiro por causa da progressão do jogo, vc fica mais forte e com isso os bosses ficam mais fáceis, e apesar de ser um ponto, não é por isso. O boss que estou falando foi derrotado em literalmente menos de 10 segundos pq todos os segmentos dele levam dano, então se sua arma atravessar inimigos em vez de ser desativada na colisão, o boss realmente é uma piada. A maioria dos bosses na real são rápidos de derrotar, assim como a maioria dos níveis da campanha. Apesar disso, o jogo conta com outros modos de jogo que desbloqueiam opções de customização bem interessantes pra quem gosta de mexer com isso.
Entre esses modos me sinto na obrigação de destacar o Arcade, que provavelmente é onde os jogadores vão passar a maior parte do tempo. Ele é infinito e vai tendo sua dificuldade aumentada a cada round, fornecendo também upgrades ao jogador a cada round com base na quantidade de pontos que forem sendo obtidos. Porém o que mais curti desse modo é que você escolhe seu personagem antes de começar a partida, e tem uma seleção até que maior do que eu esperava, como warrior, archer, wizard e etc (a maioria dos personagens são desbloqueáveis tbm). Não apenas o gameplay muda com cada personagem diferente, mas eles também tiveram o capricho de fazer sprites diferentes para cada um. Pra pegar as 5 conquistas do jogo também não demora quase nada, eu consegui em 5 horas mas tenho ctz q alguém mais focado nisso conseguiria em menos tempo ainda.
No geral Hell is Other Demons é um jogo muito bem feito e viciante, minhas expectativas sem dúvidas foram mais do que superadas. Pra mim ele é perfeito como é, mas se tivesse elementos de Roguelike para tornar o fator replay maior, seria ainda mais que perfeito.
This game is just gorgeous. The graphics look superficially lo-fi but there is some magic under there. As someone who loves this genre but isn't very skilled, I appreciate the short levels and rubber band mechanics.

The limited color palette looks good but ultimately sucks. Different colors for the enemies, their projectiles and mine is a well known concept missing here. better telegraphed attacks from some enemies using fast projectiles would be appreciated. some weapons would need a rebalance to be useful.

Obervações feitas, vamos para a análise. Os gráficos são simplesmente absurdos de lindos, não tem como negar. A trilha sonora é OK, nada muito especial. O que mais me frustrou foi o tempo de gameplay do modo campanha - zerei em 113 minutos, e pensei "ué, já acabou?". Os itens da loja são tão caros que eu zerei o modo e não consegui comprar um quinto deles, porque as fases te recompensam com pouquíssimos pontos. O começo da gameplay estava indo bem, até que troquei a minha arma inicial por uma de 7000 da loja vermelha (alguma coisa Zeus, se não me engano), foi quando dificuldade do jogo simplesmente deixou de existir - passei todo o resto das fases de primeira, até mesmo os bosses, mateis 3/5 sem morrer. Ou seja, uma loja nada balanceada onde muitos itens vão passar batidos, enquanto outros te garantem bônus absurdos. Além da loja, também não curti muito o level design, pois partindo do pressuposto que é um jogo de ARENA onde tenho que ficar matando inimigos a todo momento, não é muito justo que haja fases compridas onde eu não conseguiga sequer vê-los.
Finalizado o modo campanha, é hora de ir pro Arcade. Depois de ganhar uma certa quantia de XP, você tem direito a uma melhoria! O problema é quando você passa de 2 a 3 rounds sem ganhar uma level se quer porque esse sistema é totalmente estranho. Enquanto isso, as tais melhorias são as mesmas do modo campanha, porém nesse outro modo elas fazem sentido porque indicam uma progressão, onde você começa comprando os mais básicos e libera os mais avançados, já no modo ARCADE eles não possuem raridade, então todos tem a mesma chance de aparecer. Além disso, com alguns dos demônios, armas aleatórias ficam aparecendo, o que não faz o menor sentido pra mim, já que se eu escolhi o demônio com a SHOTGUN, não quero pegar o bendito ARCO!!! Minha conclusão sobre esse modo é que é totalmente sem alma, se passam rounds e mais rounds, troca-se os inimigos mas não aparece nenhum boss; a dificuldade aumenta e o player não evolui na mesma medida; toda run é genérica e o jogador faz praticamente a mesma build; e pra finalizar, chega em determinado ponto que é tanto inimigo na tela que já não existe mais SKILL ou HABILIDADE, basta sentar o dedo no botão de ATIRAR e no de DASH e rezar pra não morrer, já que tem um BENDITO inimigo que tira dois de vida (o porquê nunca vou entender...).
Agora partindo pros ACHIEVEMENTS, é uma visão um pouco mais pessoal, mas como um bom platinador de jogos, tenho que deixar meu depoimento. Não entendo o motivo de existir um achievement para liberar o um personagem X de 50k de pontos e não ter outro achievement para liberar Y de 100k - se tem pra um, tem que ter para todos! Também tem o de bater o recorde dos DEVS de 26k de pontos, que infelizmente não terei paciência de alcançá-lo devido a todos os problema sobre o modo ARCADE que eu já citei.
Geralmente não faço reviews tão longas, simplesmente cito alguns pontos principais e recomendo o jogo, porém eu estava muito esperançoso com esse jogo. Hell is Other Demons tem gráficos LINDOS e um estilo de gameplay muito gostosinho, mas sinto que faltou aprimoramento, e me deixa triste saber que tinha tudo pra ser bem melhor. Enfim, apesar de TODAS as minhas críticas, se o jogo estiver em PROMOÇÃO, vale a tentativa, afinal de contas, o jogo mais me divertiu do que me frustou.

Boring Game
Really Fun! Has a stomp and shoot mechanic like downwell. Simple concept, Ok soundtrack, however everything feels very precise and clean. Easy to learn, hard to master, yet satisfying to conquer.

arcade shooter, pixel art, simple but hard, great game
Very good game. If you get goog at it (wich is pretty easy) You can make speedruns. And the speedruns make aktual fun. theres also arcade wich is my facorite. but a overall great game if you are alone or on a sleepover with frieds trying to finish the game first
Hell is Other Demons é um jogo divertido é bem curtinho, ótimo para passa o tempo, sua gameplay é divertida mas seus comandos levam um tempinho para se acostumar, sua musica é boa, sua arte bonita, a dificuldade do jogo vai varia para cada pessoa já que ele depende de reflexos, apesar do modo historia ser curtinho o jogo conta com vários outros modos de jogo é desafios. eu não tive nem um problema enquanto eu jogava.

jogo com gameplay bem frenetica e rápida recomendo muito se procura parecido com doom eternal já q tem um ritmo tão rápido quanto ele :)
The game is kind of a bullet hell game with brawler like rooms set in hell, you go through maps kill everything on sight while trying to avoid getting killed and developing you skills and rythm
I havent finished the game yet, but I like it so much. I usually hate this kind of game, but theres nothing here to dislike, so i'll start by the things I normally hate about these games and tell you how it doesnt go there.
1- precission platforming: I hate it, how some people like having to calculate a jump down to the pixel while everything moves at light speed is beyond me. This game? it gives you flexibility, its hard, its fast, but you get easily used to the controls and then the fun ramps up a ton.
2-boring maps: this kind of games usually have a very defined set up and then they only throw new enemies at you. Not here, the rooms are fresh, each has a defined working strategy, which you can just ignore and have your skill win the day
3- Bullet hell: many games just fill the screen with bullets doing crazy ♥♥♥♥ and annoying traps. This IS hell and yet the enemies and attack styles are thrown at you in fun, interesting and very distinct ways... its a monochrome bullethellish game, and yet you never feel you have lost your bearings THAT ALONE WOULD MAKE THIS GAME AWESOME in comparison to others.
Now going stright to the love:
1- The music is awesome and complements the rythm of the game, the skills and bonuses are fun to use and the development system simple and effective... THIS DEVs knew what they were doing
2- the graphics are interesting and the rooms engaging
3- there is a campaign mode, an arcade mode (with several characters to unlock) and climb up mode, so there is fun to go around
4-the bosses feel all unique withing the game and coherent with the theme of their section.
Now if I had a gun pointed at my head and was told to find a flaw, it would be this, the premise of the story is captivating, however I am at a point were I feel the campain is almost at an end an I havent see much story progression, I hope this is not either a storyless game OR a souls like narration... I mean, paying attention to hidden details while dodging bullets at high speeds doesnt sound reasonable (i'll update upon completion)
UPDATE: I have now finished the story, not much to say about it, BUT the magic came after, the ARCADE MODE IS EVEN BETTER THAN THE STORY MODE, Devs should lean hard into this game, I mean, its awesome.

This game's movement feels really good and smooth, and a crap ton of items synergize with each other, so finding the perfect loadout is also very fun.
*also go into the options and enable mouse control, it's gonna make the game so much better to play*
It has great graphics, a great soundtrack, simple and fun mechanics and a great deal of replayability. If you like hellish motifs and are looking for an arcade-y platform shooter, then pick this up. It's worth every cent.

I'm writing this review after I finished everything this game has to offer and I must say that this game is the most underrated platform fighter I ever played. Gameplay is phenomenal. Music is Cool. Art style is outstanding. The weakest part of the game is probably the story but it isn't really bad but compared to the other parts of the game it's not important. Controls are clean mechanics are nice and the game just feals very good to play overall. It's also kinda short but for it's price it's definetly worth buying. Overall a great experiance. 9/10

Hell is Other Demons es un juego bastante decente en lo que cabe, pero que por su precio no vale la pena, sin rebaja el juego te sale en 9,99 dolares lo cual redondeado son unos 10 dolares, que con estos podrias comprar otros muchisimos juegos en Steam u otra plataforma, te recomiendo que si tienes deseo de jugarlo esperes a que este este en rebaja y lo compres, de lo contrario estarias desperdiciando tu dinero, el juego en si no es malo pero tampoco es algo impresionante, mas bien es simplista en muchisimos puntos y repetitivo, la campaña es muy disfrutable pero hasta ahi nada extraordinario y el modo arcade en muy poco tiempo se vuelve repetitivo y atorrante, ya cuando consigues todos los desbloqueables del modo arcade quedas asqueado de estar tanto tiempo jugando lo mismo, ya que este modo de juego y todos los demas (sin incluir la campaña) en si, son muy poco sobrellevables en cuestiones de aguante al tiempo jugando, por toda la run no se varia casi en enemigos ni escenarios, a los 20 minutos de juego en el arcade ya los sabes todos y lo niveles endless tambien son muy repetitivos y dolorosos de llevar con el tiempo, sin contar que tambien el lavaclimb es lo mismo que el arcade en lo repetitivo que es y solo es ver cuanto duras como en todos los otros modos, si no tienes de verdad nada mas que jugar, juega esto pero si no, no, igualmente lo considero un buen juego en ciertos aspectos minimos, que me distrajo por bastante tiempo en su campaña y pase buenos ratos con el.

Azione, esplosioni, demoni, 4 colori su schermo, comandi precisi e un ottimo game design. Niente di più, niente di meno.
Hell is other Demons è uno sparatutto platform d'azione e un gioco divertente, un gioco arcade con aggiunta della possibilità di poter potenziare il personaggio con armi, mosse speciali, e vari powerup. Un gioco che non dura molto, ma dall’alto potenziale di rigiocabilità, in quanto difficilmente stanca anche dopo ripetute morti e tentativi si ha sempre la sensazione di “esserci quasi arrivati” e quindi di riprovarci.
La scelta dei 4 colori su schermo la trovo eccellente, riesce a rendere benissimo la grafica e l’azione, inoltre essendo un gioco in cui il focus è interamente centrato sull’azione incessante, risulterebbe altrimenti confusionario. Le sfumature sono rese con la tecnica del dithering, tecnica mandatoria negli anni ‘80, qui resa in modo dinamico coerentemente con l’azione su schermo.
È un gioco che si padroneggia pian piano, ma che da soddisfazione al giocatore abile, dove tutto sembra essere casuale ma non lo è assolutamente, nonostante l’azione caotica, ogni movimento del giocatore è fondamentale, così come l’attenzione su schermo.
Bella la colonna sonora synthwave, originale e coinvolgente.

Word to the wise, the default keyboard controls for anyone who plays arrowkeys (and probably wasd too) are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ garbage. Too much movement required on the fingers for these kinda arcadey action games without making your hand rest in an awkward position. Once you get past that hurdle (aka rebind which I was too lazy to do until 3 hours in lmao) though this game is incredible. Arcade mode is where it's at, campaign cool but a bit too restrictive and slow for me. Still fun thou.
