I am 32 years old.
My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.
Thank you.

Basically a great twin stick shooter but:
The visability is horrible. You get hit by random debris and enemy fire on a regular basis because they fade into the background all the time or don´t stand out enough. There is one specific level with a sun behind a planet and the light rays from the sun are so bright, you see NOTHING that travels in that area.
I really like what this game is going for, a small, cheap retro shooter game, very old school vibes. the difficulty after level 9 in the campain is like almost impossibly hard so if your not into that maybe this isnt for you. the soundtrack rocks tho!
Average game.
Сложный продукт, мини выживалка в космосе.
Скорее всего имеешь представление.
Плюсы игры это карточки.
Красная цена до 70р

it has a great concept and its goal is to bring back the nostalgia feel of the old arcade games but unfortunately it failed . the graphics are decent but the planet on middle of some levels effect the visibility and the checkpoints aren't as helpful as they should be . you can upgrade your ship but because of the checkpoint system there is no going back and you cant even re-do the missions the earn more points so you can be stronger for the end game and if you make a bad decision it can make finishing the game very difficult .
This game is... okay.
On sale.
It's very repetitive, as you'd expect. The upgrades are neat, but nothing new. Music and sound are okay. Graphics are okay. Casual mode would be swell, but it cuts you off after level 10, and the regular mode is, IMO, too steep a curve in comparison. Might not be so bad if the game didn't starve you for upgrades. Maybe worth it if you want a hardcore challenge. Didn't push my buttons. 5/10.
LAPS LAPS LAPS
An OK game. Controls seem a bit clunky. I'd be willing to bet that a controller would be perfect for this title.
If it can get it low-cost, do it. Lots of casual fun. Not a perfect title to be sure. Lots of annoying design issues like not being able to re-choose upgrades and an odd save system. (on levels 11,21,31) But for the $2 or whatever it was worth it.
Heckabomb
fast game with modern day graphics with easy controls that moves from location A to B to C and so on.
good game.
Personal Suggested Purchase Price: $0.49 Or Less During Sale
A "fun while it lasts" twin stick shooter that looks like asteroids, but plays more like Super Stardust, only not as polished and not as good.
Things start out promising: there's some variety, and a nice selection of upgrades between levels. The "collect salvage" levels are particularly fun, as the asteroids can quickly fill up the screen making dodging between explosions to pick up the glowy bits a blast. Unlike the other (timed) types of levels, you are at least somewhat in control of your own destiny on those. Problems start to creep in the mid-teen levels though.
The upgrade system is somewhat crippled: you can't rearrange everything between levels, only upgrade some of what you have. Moreover, some upgrades like the secondary weapon are "locked in" once chosen. Unfortunately the most useful upgrade, shields, are consumable, so you are constantly re-upping those when you would rather be increasing your fire-power...and you will need to.
By about level 17 or so, your guns start to feel severely underpowered. Even with a good spread shot, I could never quite get them to the point I wanted. Though you have a generous amount of extra lives, you can't change your upgrades between tries. Since the game only saves checkpoints every 10 levels, this leaves you having to play again from way...way...back when you just haven't chosen the right items. You will find yourself reaching level 18 or so and hitting a wall. Many, many tries later you might make it to the mid-20's and again, the same thing happens. You hit a wall that is just too hard to beat because you made the wrong choices earlier. All the lives in the world won't help you.
So "just make the right choices" you say? No idea what those might be. A better solution would be to be able to add to your salvage (ie. currency) on replays so you can eventually upgrade. As is, perhaps there is some magical combination of upgrades that works, but I'll never find it. I'm too old to keep trying past the hours I've put into it, and there are lots of better, more balanced games out there to try instead.
All in all, a game I really want to love, but one that I ultimately cannot.
Im usualy not a big fan of dualstick shmups but this deserves some words
Challenging gameplay, good learning curve, skills, dual stick (xbox360 work perfect) left stick steer right stick shoot switchable for left handers ,some classic gameplay like asteroids, gyruss mixed with new elements + skilltree, demands for more gametime here :)
The sound is also good, Tec/Beat/Effects
Gfx is good for this kind of game

VORSICHT!
CAUTION! Internetconnection required !
The games which will need to be online for playing are generally not recommended by me.
There are no online features, so I can't understand this limitation...
I play: Bezier, Echoes+, Geometry Wars, Gran Vitreous, P-3 Biotic, Scoregasm, Ultratron, Waves....
No, I don't like space-shooter-arena !!
But I assume this one is a good one.
After purchasing the game I can safely say that I regret buying Heckabomb.
Which is quite a pity for me as I would like to see the Indie developer who made the game to succeed and make other games.
So If you want him to succeed then you could always buy the game just to support him.
Anyway I’ll get back on topic and tell you why I think the game is bad.
When you first start the game it drops you right into the first mission. I’m ok that there are no cutscenes when you start the game but I would have liked to see the controls before being shoved in to the game.
This is one of my smaller gripes though.
Here are the other reasons why I don’t like the game.
#1 The controls feel a bit unresponsive. It’s just a little, but this is the type of game were you need to be super accurate to survive the enemy waves it throws at you.
I was using a controller by the way, but I have been as accurate in other games while using as much skill in them as I did in Heckabomb.
#2 The screen gets horribly cluttered at times. This is not good, as some enemies shoot blue tipped missiles at you.
These are extremely hard to see as they blend into the background.
Many times I didn’t see the missile until I crashed into it while I was dodging the harmless asteroid chunks that where left over.
#3 Asteroids are OP. The bigger asteroids are way too fast, have more health than they need to and spawn way too much.
One of them tanked enough bullets that it smashed into me and taken off 2 and a half of my shields.
I only had 3 shields at the time.
The enemy ships in this game can only take half a shield off at the very most, whereas asteroids can kill you in two hits.
Shields aren’t just shields in this game by the way, they are your health.
So once you run out of them, instead of being shield-less you die.
#4 The super bomb is underwhelming. In games like Beat Hazard and Waves the bombs will blow up the entire screen, whereas this one will explode like it’s afraid of being too big and loud for its own good.
I regret spending my in game money on the Super Bomb at all when I could have purchased fire rate upgrades instead.
#5 Unfair enemies.
On one of the levels there are these space landmines that cannot be harmed until they activate and come after you.
And when they do they are far too accurate, can take way too much damage and also take 2 and a half shields off.
Which makes them the second thing that can kill you in 2 hits.
And lastly reason #6. Unexplained game mechanics.
Both the mines and a big gold asteroid I found would reflect your bullets back if you shot them.
I had no way of knowing this, other than by finding out first hand. I am ok that the asteroid reflects bullets, but I’m not ok that the mines reflect bullets, as they are already too deadly.
Something I can give the game praise for is its soundtrack.
It’s quite unique and sounds great. But a great soundtrack does not make up for poor or lacking gameplay as it is the case here.
That’s all I have to say.
So now you can decide if you want to get this game or not.
A very solid twin-stick shooter. Not the best out there, but quite good. It's responsive and smooth, and the music is great. I found the difficulty ramp good at the beginning, but it climbed a bit too high for me about 75% through the game, but that may have been the upgrades I chose.
There are some frustrating deaths and the backdrop of the planet levels sometimes obscure enemy fire, but most of the time it felt fair and challenging. It's a good time, especially for the price (and doubly so if it's on sale).
I cannot give this game a good review even though i do like a good twin stick shooter which this sadly is not,the main problem is you cannot see what the hell is hitting you half the time, you can shoot a big asteroid from half a screen away and the bits that fly off come straight to the side of you every time its stupid and really annoying.
The levels which have planets you cant see enemy missles clearly enough or enemies for that matter, the side of the arena is hard to tell where it ends so you end up stuck sometimes and trapped.
The way the upgrades work is not really explained some are useless so a lot of trial and error will be needed ,buy the wrong one at the wrong time and you will get stuck unable to progress.
If you are patient and don't mind really hard games look for it in the sale you may get a few hours out of it there are some good things about it like the nusic and for the money you get a lot of levels and they do vary.
Aliens blew up your planet? Don't get all Dented up! Go forth to the alien worlds and make them pay.
Make them ALL pay.
This is an arena shooter fought in a circular space. Levels alternate between gathering salvage in Asteroids-style gameplay, and jacking up mass quantities of enemy planetary defensive craft long enough to get in nice and close and drop your Heckabomb on said planet to make it explode into lovely, lovely bursts of pretty sparkly bits!
Along the way, you'll get to deal with levels involving alien saucer attacks (great for salvage!), enemy ace pilots, and huge warships that join in trying to keep their planet in a nice unexplodey state.
Every level completed grants you an extra continue, which basically is an extra life that resets your ship to the state it had at the start of the level -- but the level itself will not be identical to the one just played. especially in planet levels, this could mean you get a much easier or much harder try than the previous one.
It's got a heckin' nice ship upgrade system and six special weapons that can be purchased (and themselves upgraded). It oozes style in every way (I adore the main menu with its shifting viewpoints of planets and suns!) from the graphic design to the excellent, pulse-pounding music. All in all, it's an excellent, well-crafted shmup experience.
It can get kind of crazy in higher levels (40+), when aliens or asteroids begin to pile up in huge numbers that can be nearly impossible to fend off.
Words to the wise AI: do NOT be within 4 to 5 ship-lengths of an asteroid when it blows up. two chunks of rock come racing out at high speed and while they're at this speed, can take off 2 or more shields at once. I got instakilled a bunch before I realized what was going on.
Way too hard.
Continues are so antiquated.
Asteroids and Geometry Wars fans would like this: a twin-stick shooter that is fun in bursts. An inexpensive and solid game!
First Play Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zum1ApjMf-E
Even with a mouse and keyboard because my old RumblePad2 isn't supported in this twin stick shooter, I still had a blast!
Game runs super smooth and fast. Very colorful and vibrate gameplay makes this game easy to look at and enjoy.
For any fan of the old school asteroids, Super Stardust on the Playstation console, or the mega popular Geometry Wars games, this game is "Must Buy" period. 8.5 out of 10.
Best feature IMO: The ability to use salvage points acquired in the gameplay to choose your own powerups and add-on perks for your ship. Making your ship the way you want is a nice feature missing from a lot of these Asteroid genre shooter games. Love it!
Great jobs devs! Thanks for delivering a huge punch for the price and giving gamers their moneys worth! On Steam these days, that's saying something!

Nice little stardust type shooter. accompanied by a good trance\techno type soundtrack.
might take a while to get used the controls, as there's alot going on at the same time!
The difficulty is about right and the ship/weapon upgrades do help you pull through each level.
I like it but I'm an old asteroids/invaders nerd. Kind of a 2015 asteroids/super stardust makeover but a good one :)
I love these action games.
Heckabomb is a twin stick shooter - xbox360 controller is best
The game alternates between a score stage, where you have to collect salvage from destroying asteroids, to a survival like stage where you are required to 'move' (fly around) a certain distance. At the completion of each stage you can hyperspace out.
You can upgrade weapons, armour, salvage collectors etc. and the game CAN be saved.
Visually its appealling, the gameplay is action/arcade that is not a bullet hell style game, but one that can be successfully played with some practice.
If you like twin stick shooters - get it
8/10
