Fun for playing once, but only that, nothing iconic or relevant for the lore.
Pretty much just like Spartan Assault but with some quality of life improvements and more connected levels.
The XP system was replaced with Credits, which makes way more sense as a name, and all the items can be bought way easier as its just easier to obtain XP/Credits in this game than the last. Both cause the stars are just more generous, and now there are side objectives in every mission you can go for to get even more Credits. The side missions I had a lot of fun doing! Fix one baffling decision, make another though. Requiring getting gold stars on each level to play the final world. I am considering doing it though! This game was a load of fun and seems also fun to 100%.
Also, as much as I did defend the controls in the last game, and i still stand by what I said, they did manage to improve the controls more in this game. Not sure why they couldnt just port the changes over. I mean the games are made via the same framework surely you can just copy and paste the code (clueless.) (but also probably true))
Oh and the levels are a lot longer so checkpoints would have been more reasonable. it was still fine without them though. The game isnt hard, I rarely died in both games. Maybe the final world will kick my ass, who knows.
Both Halo: Spartan Assault and Halo: Spartan Strike are very simple top down shooters with almost the same issues.
The controls are good on gamepad (but people seem to have issues with mouse + keyboard). The shooting is decent, the Halo aesthetic is great, but the objectives and level designs are quite boring (kill everything, survive until event X happens etc.) There are no interesting interactions between characters, no boss fights, no sense of urgency or importance in anything you do (as everything is just a training simulation based on events that already happened) and in general the way the story is presented I just could not care less about what is going on.
Overall the games were not terrible. I did finish all the missions and replayed a few to get the gold stars (required to unlock final mission in the newer of the two games), but I would still not recommend them as there are plenty of better shooters in this genre.
Note for Steam Deck users: Change the resolution in the options menu, other than that both games play great out of the box.

Me parece más entretenido que la precuela Spartan Assault.
Más armas, más vehículos, etc. Es su precuela pero mejor, lo único destacable es el manejo de los vehículos de la UNSC, lo siento un poco tosco pero, uno se acostumbra.
Las assault ops son asequibles a opinión propia.
Skip Spartan Assault and just play this one instead.
Way better level desing, as each stage iss used mzltiple times, but explored from multiple angles. The spartan op missions also are way more humane.

better than HSA, cool kill off a few hours, has some bugs where u get stuck for some reason and must restart mission, but overall it is worth playing
For about 2.6USD it's a fun "little game" to keep you occupied for a while.
It feels like revisiting the Halo campaigns but from different perspective (and I don't just mean the top-down view).
I only have two issues with the game so far:
1. A minor issue: The characters are quite small on the Steamdeck, which I could zoom in.
2. A major (personal) issue: It doesn't seem use the soundtracks from Halo or ODST

Best Halo Mobile game ever
Better than the first one. New vehicles, weapons, levels, and a few reworked mechanics. It's notably easier to get gold stars, and make sure you get them, because you wont be able to play the last chapter without getting a gold star on every single mission.

Si jugaste primero Halo Spartan Assault, sentirás que Strike es el 1 y no el 2, es muy repetitivo te dice ve de un lado a otro en pocas palabras de A a B y luego C y luego A, o si no defiende una zona o sobrevive cierto tiempo, incluso ambas, también sentí que hicieron un mapa grande para cada misión de campaña toda la A es igual menos las 3 primeras misiones, lo mismo para toda la misión B, y C, imagino que para la D y E será igual aun no las completo quizá lo haga quizá no.
Esta es opinión mas personal pero yo sentí que no hicieron este juego con el mismo cariño que el primero, también me molesto que la Spartan Palmer de Halo Spartan Assault la colocaran dando explicaciones de la misión prácticamente no tiene alma, la persona que contrataron solo lee casi como si fuera una contestadora automática o mensaje automático; así que es triste porque en el 1 juegas con ella y con Davis, y le tome cariño a esos 2 Spartans al jugar con ellos, pero más a palmer porque es con la que juegas más y pues no diré spoiler de que paso con ellos si no has jugado el Assault.

En pocas palabras y para resumir no me gusto porque…………
-Si jugaste Halo Spartan Assault primero este te va a decepcionar como a mí o te va a gustar, pero serán pocos o los que les guste.
-Es cierto que el Assault es corto pero cada zona era única o ni siquiera note si es que repetía alguna zona, como la mayoría de misiones eran cortas no se sentía que se repetía, en cambio el Halo Strike la misión se siente repetitiva y monótona además se nota que la alargan.
-Los mapas del strike parece que hicieron un mapa grande para cada zona de misión B fue todo igual, C también, cambian detalles, pero muy poco, la excepción fue la misión A sus primeros 3 mapas hasta donde e jugado, en pocas palabras hicieron copiar y pegar.
-Misión como en strike y la historia no era la mejor, pero creo que fue mejor contada que la historia strike.
-En cuanto a controles se siente demasiado tosco el strike o eso sentí en steam.

This game had promise for me as I actually liked Spartan Assault but Spartan Strike is just everything I hate about Halo 4 plus even more more ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
If you liked Spartan Assault, it plays almost identically with how it controls but the missions are more drawn out.
I had to ragequit after dying at the end of a long tedious mission towards the latter half of the game.
Game i actually fun, but the lack of mid-mission checkpoints drags the game down in later missions.

Good old halo always fun
It is a pretty simple top down shooter in the Halo universe. It is a really nice game to have on a deck for a quick play on the go. Moreover the version hear on steam is WAY more stable then my xbox version from back in the day which use to crash every 5 seconds. I have had no such issues here. Definitely vworth a few bucks imo.
Not a corner wasn't cut funding this turd. Surprised Microsoft didn't go bankrupt. It's enough to make Master Chief cry.
Got through half the game (Last mission on Op C) until i decided i had enough. I dont like dropping games but the game features far too many "Defend position for x amount of minutes" missions and is also very strange when it comes to checkpoints. I understand making a challenging mission can be hard but... really? Is it truly necessary design-wise to simply force players to redo 10 minutes worth of mission just for one minute of difficulty spike? (As last Op C mission can attest in my experience). It has happened many times throughout my playthrough and its frankly tiresome.
Finally decided to drop it after i read from many reviewers that unlike the previous game (Spartan Assault, which i liked a lot for what it is btw) the devs for some reason decided to lock the last Op behind Gold stars in every level or something like that. If the game is a tedious grind so far, being a perfect top down shooter showcase of unjust/unrewarding game practice after unjust game practice going that far seems like torture to me.
Ive played old games with no checkpoints before and i have enjoyed them, no problem with that kinda design...i just wish they didnt force it on people without warning(nor any particular finesse). Still might not be the game for me, check it out if you are the sort of tough guy that doesnt mind this kind of thing or if you are simply sadomasochistic. No judging.

Much better I think than it's predecessor due to much reduced slog and not having to back menu every single time to see what needs to be done to 100% each level, this one is pretty fun. Lots of different weapons that all serve different purposes, armor abilities, enemies that are each fun to fight in their own way. I had a good time playing this one through all the way through to 100%. My only nitpick is that I can't charge the plasma pistol when using mouse and keyboard, even if I hold down the fire button. Only works on controller for me. Odd.

Um jogo muito divertido, assim como o halo spartan assault, jogabilidade fluida e responsiva e fases desafiadoras até certo ponto.

The first one was a lot of fun! This one... Not so much. I'm a few years late to both, but here we go. The first one gave ZERO direction. You have to figure out everything on your own. This one has some chick telling you which foot to step forward with first. Annoying and only got through the first couple of levels before I could take the constant direction anymore. Just let me play...
Franchement, je suis mitigé. D’un côté, j’aime pas trop le gameplay : c’est un twin-stick shooter, donc ça manque un peu de la profondeur d’un vrai Halo FPS. Certaines missions sont longues, l’IA peut être parfois relou, et ça devient un peu répétitif (“on recommence la vague parce qu’on meurt à la fin”). Plusieurs joueurs disent que les niveaux durent trop longtemps.
En plus, pas de mode multijoueur, c’est que du solo.
Mais d’un autre côté, niveau histoire, je trouve que c’est un cran au-dessus de ce que j’attendais pour un spin-off. L’intrigue est plutôt cool : on se retrouve dans des simulations pendant des batailles de la saga Halo (New Mombasa, Halo Gamma…), avec des Covenants et des Prométhéens.
La musique et l’ambiance sont aussi bien faites, ça rappelle vraiment l’univers Halo.
Conclusion : je dirais que ce n’est pas mon Halo préféré, mais ça reste un bon jeu pour ce que c’est. Si tu es fan de Halo et que tu acceptes un gameplay “différent”, ça vaut le coup. Mais si tu cherches un gros jeu Halo classique, tu risques d’être un peu déçu.
Halo: Spartan Strike propose des graphismes particulièrement soignés pour un twin-stick shooter, avec des environnements étonnamment riches et colorés. Les jungles luxuriantes, les villes humaines en guerre et les bases de l’UNSC offrent une variété visuelle très agréable. Chaque zone dégage une atmosphère propre, et même si certains décors peuvent sembler un peu plus simples lorsqu’on les examine de près, le charme général de l’univers Halo s’impose largement et donne une vraie identité au jeu.
Les musiques sont excellentes, reprenant la puissance orchestrale typique de la saga, avec ces chœurs épiques et ces nappes électroniques parfaitement intégrées dans l’action. Elles renforcent vraiment l’immersion et donnent un souffle héroïque à chaque mission. Les effets sonores sont également très réussis : tirs, explosions, hurlements des Covenants…
Le jeu reprend la formule twin-stick shooter, mais la fait évoluer en offrant plus de fluidité, davantage de variété dans les armes, ainsi qu’un maniement des véhicules encore plus agréable que dans son prédécesseur. Les missions proposent des objectifs multiples : escortes, destructions, assauts, infiltration légère… ce qui apporte un rythme dynamique et évite toute monotonie. Le système de jeu demande un court temps d’adaptation si vous n’êtes pas habitué à ce style, mais une fois les commandes maîtrisées, les combats deviennent très prenants et satisfaisants.
Le level design est bien pensé. Les zones se parcourent avec plaisir, et chaque mission raconte un fragment de l’histoire à travers les briefings et les événements du terrain. Même si l’univers n’est évidemment pas gigantesque comme dans un RPG, Spartan Strike parvient à rendre chaque lieu distinct et agréable à explorer dans le cadre de son format.
La durée de vie est tout à fait correcte. Comptez quelques heures pour terminer la campagne, un peu plus si vous souhaitez débloquer toutes les médailles, compléter tous les défis, ou tenter d’obtenir les meilleurs scores dans chaque mission. Ceux qui aiment optimiser et rejouer leurs niveaux peuvent facilement dépasser la dizaine d’heures, voire davantage.
Comme tout jeu orienté action rapide, Spartan Strike n’est pas exempt de petits défauts. Il arrive que l’IA se comporte étrangement, ou que certains ennemis donnent l’impression d’être un peu trop résistants selon les situations. Rien de réellement gênant, mais un joueur exigeant pourra remarquer ces détails. Heureusement, l’ensemble reste très stable et agréable à parcourir.
Halo: Spartan Strike est au final une petite expérience intense, aboutie et totalement fidèle à l’esprit de la saga. Plus fluide, plus dynamique et plus maîtrisé que Spartan Assault, il offre une aventure compacte mais riche en émotions, en action et en atmosphère.

I put this one on the back burner for the longest time. When I got my Steamdeck, it was one of the first games I played. Perfect deck game and runs great. Not the best Halo campaign but it's a pretty fun twin stick shooter.
Halo: Spartan Strike is fun at the start, but having to complete every mission with full gold just to “finish” the game is way too much. Instead of feeling like a rewarding challenge, it turns into a chore that kills the enjoyment. This progression requirement is just really annoying… honestly, it’s ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

If you liked Spartan Assault, this is just more of the same with some minor improvements and more variety of enemies, weapons, abilities, locations, and one new vehicle. It's a fun twin-stick shooter. Notable improvements from the previous game include being able to see all Ops at the start of each mission without needed to scroll throw the menu, and being inside a vehicle when it blows up no longer instantly kills you.
Most of the new things in this one come from Halo 4. I wasn't sure what to think at first but it grew on me. And since the opening missions take place during Halo 2 the Master Chief makes a couple cameos. Keep an eye out for him.
I want to mention there is a controller input issue with the sticks. I know this occurs on Steam Deck when using the game docked with a separate controller and it happens with both a PS5 controller and Stadia controller. I did not have an Xbox controller to test with, but I have seen boards that say it affects those too. The issue is the game will not read input from the sticks. The workaround I found on the Deck is this: start the game, reorder the controllers, unplug your controller, plug your controller back in, reorder the controllers again to what they where before you started this process. I have no idea why this works, but after about an hour of troubleshooting I found that this worked for me 100% of the time.

Halo IMO translates very well to the twin stick shooter genre. It's not mind-blowing, but it's fun and is a great portable experience on the Steam Deck. I'm not too crazy about the "true ending" being locked, though; you have to get a gold star in all the other levels before you can play the final act.

This game should have been left as just an idea. So terrible. Missions are short enough that they don't do checkpoints. But long enough to where if you have to start over, you want to bash your head through a wall. They make things timed like "survive for 1:30" and then swarm you with 100 enemies that take an entire magazine to kill. Just a game that they wanted to make more money off of the Halo name. Hopefully the people that made this game were fired
Just like Spartan Assault this game is completely broken and unplayable. Doesn't matter if you use Controller and Mouse+Keyboard no inputs work.
Don't waste your money or time on these titles. Neither work and the Devs don't care enough to fix them.
I think this is only worth getting if you're a huge fan of halo and you like to see all the enemies and stuff in a cool top down perspective, otherwise as a top down shooter its pretty bland and underwhelming, a short 2-3 hour campaign [i played this on mobile] when it was free, for some reason theyre charging money for it, get it on sale it aint even worth 3 dollars

Миссии имеют ещё меньше связанного содержимого, текстовые брифинги перед ними совсем обмельчали, склейки анимаций меж них всё так же дешевы...
Лишь как кость фанатам в самом начале кидают картинку с Джоном-117!
Миры новых уровней выглядят целостнее, чем натычки отовсюду из предыдущей игры - улицы и небоскребы Нью-Момбасы в огне, обрывистые тропические джунгли и закатная Silicon Valley с [spoiler]порталами[/spoiler].
Музыка - тоже поприметнее для ушей.
Иные 30 одиночных миссий включают в себя пробежки под снарядами и оборону позиций, танково-вертолётный биатлон, оборону позиций, сопровождение и охрану учёных, оборону позиций, устранение Лидеров, оборону позиций и бомбежки древних структур.
За успешное кокошанье и прохождение дополнительных убойных заданий игроку вручают медали и начисляют опыт.
Последний можно тратить на стартовые улучшалки для следующих миссий вроде супер-ультра-мега-пушки, особых умений или множителя щита/урона/опыта.
Также никуда не делись и известные по серии черепа, усложняющие укладку, но дающие бОльшие итоговые циферки.
Игровой процесс шмаляния без перезарядки подвергся лишь мелким изменениям.
Парочка новых спартанских спецспособностей и оружейка [spoiler]Предтеч[/spoiler] - и всё!
Зато упрощений достаточно:
- подбегающий враг с мечом только один и очень редок,
- взрыв транспорта теперь =/= смерть игрока в нём,
- турели больше не перегреваются.
Очки-рекорды в этот раз набиваются только за количество и за серии укладок (без учёта затраченного времени), а черепа - множат только кредитный опыт.
Но главное - дают порулить "Вепрем"! Ну и на "Пустельге" попарить, в полуметре над поверхностью (серьёзно?)...
Четырехчасовое прохождение омрачает тот факт, что для доступа к последней из 5 операций игрок должен получить по золотой звезде на всех предыдущих уровнях. В первой части такой проблемы не было и эта особенность может автоматически стать для кого-то препятствием для покупки.
Однако, золотодобыча без усилителей совсем не трудна, лично перезапустил с множителем опыта лишь пяток миссий.
Для совсем отбитых фанатов в каждой миссии предусмотрены по 3 устранительных цели. Не вчитываясь в описание и из-за недостатка врагов многие из них придётся перезапускать раз за разом (типа уложите 21 цель, когда на всю миссию их всего 3 и нужно каждый раз пробегать примерно половину). Пингвинова благодарочка разработчикам, что эти миссии засчитываются сразу по выполнении, а не по завершении уровня!
Управление танком всё ещё танковое.
Иногда можно застрять у шкафа пополнения припасов или разок вылететь на 3-м подряд задании - зато проблема со стартовым черным экраном исчезла!
Всё так же невооруженным глазом видно, что снаряды не долетают до границ экрана!
[u]Подовсем[/u], Halo: SS - очередная средненькая стрелялка, завлекающая лишь именитой оболочкой. Чуть облегченный игровой процесс не прибавляет проекту интересности, как кооператив или же пара уровней в режиме выживания, а "playwall" заставляет вспоминать звёздочные шедевры с мобилок.
Пробежать можно, но только до появления в своей библиотеке Steam MCC!

Não tem muito o que falar sobre esse jogo: ele é simplesmente desinteressante, não vale a pena. Só recomendo caso você seja muito fã da franquia Halo; caso contrário, vai estar apenas jogando dinheiro fora em um jogo de qualidade bem duvidosa.
On the opposite end of how easy and short Spartan Assault was: Spartan Strike makes missions way too tedious (too many of them are just stand in one spot and wait for 2 mins) and go on for too long. Prometheans aren't fun to fight at all with enemies using binary rifles might as well be replacements for jackal snipers. Story isn't interesting and gameplay isn't much of an improvement. Shoutouts to that one mission that you just defend a single point 3 times (for like 6 mins total).
Also locking the last act behind having to get gold on all missions is dumb (game isn't fun enough to replay just to do that lmao)

Halo: Spartan Strike es un videojuego de acción con vista aérea, un 'twin-stick shooter' para ser más precisos. Fue desarrollado por 343 Industries y Vanguard Games, y lanzado en 2015. El juego se ubica cronológicamente entre los eventos de Halo 2 y Halo 3. En él, controlas a un supersoldado Spartan-IV en misiones de simulación que reviven algunos de los conflictos más importantes de la serie.
Lo Mejor
Jugabilidad: La jugabilidad es el punto más fuerte del juego. Es un shooter de doble joystick con un ritmo frenético y divertido. Los controles están bien adaptados a PC, y la acción es fluida y satisfactoria. Se siente como un Halo en un formato diferente, conservando la esencia del combate de la serie con armas y vehículos icónicos.
Contenido y misiones: A pesar de ser un juego relativamente corto, está lleno de misiones con desafíos variados. Además de la campaña principal, incluye desafíos semanales y tablas de clasificación para los que buscan un reto extra y un alto grado de rejugabilidad.
Acceso a la arsenal: El juego te da acceso a un vasto arsenal de armas, habilidades (como la burbuja de energía o los propulsores), y vehículos, lo que añade una gran capa de estrategia y variedad al combate.
Lo Peor
Gráficos: El aspecto visual es quizás el punto más débil del juego. Aunque tiene un estilo artístico simple y colorido, los gráficos son bastante básicos y no destacan. Si bien está ambientada en el universo de Halo, no aporta nada significativo a la trama general de la serie, lo que puede ser una decepción para los fans que buscan más lore.
Controles en PC: Aunque se adapta bien, la experiencia ideal de un 'twin-stick shooter' sigue siendo con un mando. Para jugadores que usan teclado y ratón, el control puede sentirse un poco menos natural en comparación con un mando, aunque es perfectamente funcional.
mas alla de todo eso el juego es entretenido y recomendable para todo fan de halo. es un 7 de 10 !

It isn't bad, but it's nothing more then port of a mobile game
What is bad is that the game itself cheats (or the games makers).
For extra credits you can do optional challenges, but the challenges cheat.
If a challenge involves killing, you usually have to kill more of that enemy then there are in a level
top down halo. Fast spaced, short sessions. Pretty solid but not amazing. It stayed true to the original games in terms of the way weapons and enemies worked for the most part.
this was a little harder than Spartan Assault for what it's worth.
Una digna continuación de Halo: Spartan Assault. El juego cuenta con un mejorado apartado gráfico y mayor variedad de armas, enemigos y mapas. Lo recomiendo incluso más que su precuela.
Man muss leider alle Missionen in Gold abschließen um die E Missionen freizuschalten. Dafür finde ich das Spiel nicht gut genug um die Zeit zu investieren. Ich habe das Spiel zum Glück für wenig Geld gekauft, sonst würde ich mich ärgern das man nicht den Zugriff auf alle Missionen bekommt.

Ну ♥♥♥, это уже лучше чем предыдущая часть, начиная от стрельбы, заканчивая повествованием, миссии стали более длительными, стрелять хотя бы приятно стало и каждое оружие стало теперь хоть отличаться.

Otima gameplay, realmente capturou a essencia da franquia halo. Gráficos melhores que o anterior Spartan Assault.
Tem somente 2 pontos negativos: Historia fraca e é necessário farmar levemente para conseguir liberar todas as fases, Nota 7.8.
Genau wie sein Vorgänger ist auch Spartan Strike ein Spiel, das Halo-Fans ausprobieren können. Die Entscheidung, das letzte Kapitel erst verfügbar zu machen, nachdem alle vorherigen Missionen perfekt absolviert wurden, ist für mich völlig unverständlich.
Incluso para haber sido un juego de celular es repetitivo a mas no poder, mejora un poco en la jugabilidad respecto al antecesor, tiene parcialmente mas variedad de armas y enemigos que el Spartan Assault, diseño de nivel horrible y lineal, no te incita a rejugar, mas bien te obliga para obtener el ultimo set de niveles, cosa que no haré 6/10

після Halo: Spartan Assault якось не заціпило, та й історія(сюжет) якось не так прикольно подається тут. не вистачає приколів/цитат як було раніше, та керування транспортом все таке ж альтернативно зручне.

"Halo: Spartan Strike" feels like a really solid iteration on its forerunner, Spartan Assault. If you liked Spartan Assault, pick this one up--they're usually bundled together anyhow!
Strike introduces some really fun stuff. The story framework is largely the same as Spartan Assault in the first chapter, playing through a series of simulated missions. Later, guided by Lieutenant Kwon, a Comms Officer on the UNSC Infinity, your Spartan is deployed to Gamma Halo to recover an artifact featured in the simulations of the first chapter, and which becomes the cause of a massive teleportation crisis and Promethean outbreak in New Phoenix! There's a great variety of missions throughout the campaign. This game has a plethora of armor abilities, weapons, some of which were featured in the previous game, but many of whom are brand new! You're trading Palmer's dual magnums for akimbo SMGs, for instance, but I found most of the weapon sandbox fresh. Vehicle missions also make their appearance, and here is probably the most memorable thing from Strike in my opinion: the KESTREL. Its design resembles Halo 5 and Infinite's Wasp, but it's this super cool hovercraft mounted with twin, high-explosive round machine guns! Such a fun vehicle! Tom Salta is also back for the soundtrack, and I could definitely detect some remixes of the previous game's tracks, which were such delights alongside the new additions.
