I bought this game a long time ago because i saw it on a video of unique short games but never got around to playing it.

It's definitely a very unique game, essentially it's a somewhat physics based game which actual planet physics on a small planet, where you control each hand individually(mainly used for traversal and pulling switches, not much point otherwise lol), and you collect different types of plants which can be used to boost or float you higher, The main goal of the game is to collect all the ship parts so you can go home, but there's a few other collectables around the planet, some unlock new appearances and others make it easier to traverse.

As it's a short game i won't go into too much detail, however, i do want to highlight one really cool feature. Across the planet there are 4 different "star plants", very large vines which you can grab onto and fly onto energy sources to make them grow bigger. Which is really cool, it feels fun flying these tendrils out to other islands!

I like how as you collect more crystals and gear, the world feels much easier to explore, you go from having to find a islands to hop on to climb higher or using star plants to bring yourself higher to being able to rocket around with your hangglider infinitely lol

One somewhat major complaint i had was that the controls can be very janky. For example, you might rocket on your hangglider and it'll inexplicably shoot straight down instead of forward, and sometimes the jetpack whips around weirdly. Another minor complaint is i kinda wish there was more to do,, i feel like a game like this could've been stretched over multiple planets but it can be beaten under 2 hours if you rush it. However i somehow managed to get 11 hours in and i didn't even do any of the challenges lol

Would still recommend it, it's a very cute game!

Grow Home, but with no progression because ubisoft thought open world needed to mean "go anywhere always and pick up endless collectibles"

It's less fun and less focused. Just play the original one and only play this one if you like aimless open worlds to mess around in. Personally I do not.

Way better than the first game! Also shockingly modern feeling, Somehow has that breath of the wild openness and chemistry system style gameplay despite coming out years before, but also mixes in its physics platformer stuff for genuine schmoovment. You’ll end up flying through the world.

UPDATE: I just found a video of someone completing it (btw only one video of anyone actually going through all that) and it is ALL FOR NOTHING. No cut scene or anything. The mothership just says to keep playing.......Oh joy, the payoff is to never stop playing while having 0 objectives or anything you can do in the world...who woulda thunk!?

It is fun BUT this game forces you to complete EVERYTHING or else you can't beat the game. Find 150 Crystals, grow 4 Starplants, finish 40 challenges, discover all the flora, and get all the ship parts to build the Mother ship. I got 95 of the crystals, all but one plant, did 25 of the 40 challenges, and found all the mothership parts.

This is crazy. Let the story end and move on. Don't force the player to do parts they don't enjoy, let alone EVERYTHING! Sucks I'll never finish the game but the amount of real time it will take me to have no fun at all finding another 45 crystals and all the challenges (then the time to finish the challenges, which are hit or miss if are fun or not) is just not worth it. Gonna look up the ending at this point. I earned it.

Grow Up is the sequel to Grow Home. Just like the last game, it is a collectathon. In the first game, you land on a small island. This time though, you crash on a planet and you have to collect all ship parts to escape. The planet is filled with secrets and different biomes. The game introduces new abilities like turning in to a ball or spawning plants that can be used to reach places. I managed to find all crystals without a guide. I just knew where I looked and where I haven't. Play this if you have played Grow Home. It was improved in every way possible.

The long awaited sequel…just kidding. It's A sequel. It did hit a lot of the right buttons for a sequel. It had a new character to be a buddy with the main character. It had a new sense of catastrophe in the story. It also had a lot of new fun mechanics that made traversal more interesting. The first game in this series was just about verticality, but this game added a lot of lateral movement, which was really fun. I kind of want to go back through and play more of this to collect more items, just to enjoy traversing through this world. The one big con, though, is that the character still moves in such a hard to control way. One of the biggest things in platforming games is the movement. The Mario games do this so well! It's probably the main reason that Nintendo is still around. Mario is generally a lot of fun to move around. B.U.D. however is not a lot of fun to move around. He's a fun character, but he's the worst kind of ragdoll.

как и первую часть - прошел на платину за вечерок, как не странно, на две десятых часа быстрее чем первую часть, наверное пот ому что не пришлось фармить 30 МИНУТ полета на планере.

в общем - правильный сиквел, улучшенный оригинал. правда, механикой посадки семян, кроме начала игры и ачивок, почти не пользовался, но в теории штука полезная

Summary: I found it just as fun and charming as the first one! Brovo to using new mechanics, changing up old ones from the previous game and keeping the strange floaty walking. There are bugs and issues with the game that can halt achievement hunting but most bugs are fixed by reloading the game.

Story: M.O.M crash into planet you go save M.O.M by collecting all her parts.

Gameplay: You now have more buttons to learn and more tools to use like the map and new flora you can use instead of just scan. Along with some things from the previous game being upgrades you half to go find and earn.

Combat: None.

Graphics: Very cube, block, and stick. Basically look at the store is what it will look like. If you like good graphics this game will hurt your eyes. Me I like good games with very very low standards on what they look like.

Bugs &/or glitches: It isn't a bug but you cannot go all the way north or all the way south to circle the planet in the map. It's meant to keep your bearings as to north and south pole. Me I thought it was a bug.
Actual bugs: sheep/ goat will clip though the floor and not be findable which is what happened to me I looked underneath the astroid it was supposed to be in (on the ground). So I reloaded the game and fixed it.
I encountered a bug where the "M.O.M teleport" is literally broken (sometimes it will let you teleport sometimes not) it will count it but only if you have one other teleport I got all others and activated mom essentially I had to redo the game to get the teleport achievement.
Auditory bugs are the boost to the glider will stop working sometimes.
There are others but nothing super game breaking.

Sound's/ music: A lot of clicking while climbing kind of like a typewriter. Same as the first game and I loved it. Music, honestly I didn't even know it was their. It's very unobtrusive. But when you do get to listen to it it's good. Nothing super annoying or overly loud comes to mind it was all very chill.

Achievement hunter: Everything like the first is easy to find and get provided you have all the crystals and abilities unlocked. Would suggest going after those before anything else. The abilities will help you find crystals which will make upgrading and the rest of the game (challenges mainly) a breeze.

Relaxing, explore a big world with jet-pack, glider, flower powerups and more. There's something so peaceful about paragliding through space. I love that the beauty of all of this is inherently lost on a robot (Bud, your protagonist). This is the kind of game I'm glad I own, to the point of that if i ever really just need to do something peaceful, I can just cruise around this game and find all the collectibles. Speaking of which, it's weird that there's no credits for ending the game without 100% completion. Right now I have no desire to 100% this game, but I would have liked some feeling of conclusion for putting MOM (the ship) back together. Anyway, it is what it is. Great game. Better than the original, but both absolutely worthy of your time. Can't fault it. Obviously there's games that you can do more with, deeper, more exciting, whatever, but for what this is, it does it perfectly. I'm just quite glad I can play this game whenever it strikes. I'm glad I have access to the game in the sense of having purchased it, but on a deeper level, what i'm trying to say is - I'm glad the game exists. Simple, perfect, peaceful, lovely. For what it strives to do, it's a simple, bite sized, 10/10 for me.

Перша частина дарувала медитативний досвід, а ця - його розширила, бо всього стало більше: тепер планета має купу біомів, набагато більшу і цікавішу територію для дослідження, рослин стало більше і вони отримали цікаві механіки(ліани катапульти взагалі дуже круті), а візуал став просто затишніше і красивіше. Також додались пару нових механік, які у першій грі були наче прототипними. І у підсумку, гідне продовження, навіть шкода що далі ніякого розвитку так і не сталось

Cute shortish game without fighting, just you exploring and trying to save MOM. I like it quite a bit, though I prefer the first game. I've only noticed 2 bugs, but they were really annoying. The hitboxes of Youchs would randomly break and hit me even when I was further away. Plus one animal needed for an achievement didn't spawn right, constantly fell through the isle and I had to jump after it. ( [spoiler] Restart the game, go into the cave and look under the isle for the bull, it might take a while [/spoiler] ) Otherwise it was good, might have benefited from a better crystal detection for those of us who like to 100% games.

Прекрасное продолжение первой части. Мне очень понравилось, у разработчиков получилось повторить успех первой части игры. Игровой мир стал больше и разнообразнее, появилось много новых прикольных видов зверушек, а также способностей БАДа (за планер особенный респект, после сбора всех кристаллов прям чилл). В сиквел серии получился достаточно разнообразным и вполне удачным. Рекомендую.

this game was a phenomenal sequel to the first game! It took everything that was great and made it even better. I highly recommend playing this if you're into chill, exploratory games. I also recommend you check out the first game "Grow Home" because that game alone is good too. 10/10.

It's a cute short game. Janky movement but you get used to it and it becomes fun movement. Then the map becomes super easy to navigate once you get the [spoiler]glider[/spoiler] and the whole game basically becomes one long easy skip.
My biggest gripe is that the ending is just completely underwhelming, if you can even call that an ending. But the game itself is worth playing

Fun and relaxing game
added a lot of new things
just like the first one its grow the star plant but this time you have to find all the pieces of the ship which have been scattered about after the ship crashed.
its a very no stress and chill game to play if you dont want anything that will aggravate you.
I loathe Ubisoft but its the one game if they did a 3rd one of I'd buy

　前作「Grow Home」を実績コンプしてから連続で今作をプレイしました。

[h3]まず俺個人の評価は[/h3]
∟1本の巨大な植物だけのステージだった前作「Grow Home」丸々チュートリアル扱いにして、今度は惑星丸々1個が探索ステージになり、散らばった収集物の全回収を目指すゲーム。
　前作にはなかった植物召喚機能により、いつでもどこもで足場を生成したり、トランポリンのような機能を持った植物で機動力を補いながら探索を進めていける。ただし操作キャラの機動力のインフレが凄まじく、左右の手でコツコツと登る期間はあっという間で、中盤以降はずっと空を滑空したりエンジン吹かしてぶっ飛んで楽々探索。前作にあった落ちる事に対する恐怖や、必死にツタを掴む手に汗が滲み出る緊張感は全くない。

[h3]プレイしてて思ったこと[/h3]
∟今作の新機能の植物召喚機能。数多の植物が使えるようになるが、そのうちの2~3種類しか多用しない。なんなら真上に跳ね上げてくれる植物が便利すぎて1種類しか使わなくなったので、多様性のある機能とは言い難い。それに後述する機動力のインフレで終盤、下手すれば中盤から一切使わない機能になり、ゲームの本質から逸脱していく。
　1本の植物をただひたすら縦に上に登る前作とは違い、惑星全土、広大な土地を駆け巡るようになったため、プレイヤーの機動力のインフレが速く作られている。ただ速すぎて新機能の植物召喚機能はすぐに使わなくなる。わざわざ足場を作ったり、トランポリンで跳ねたりって行動も全部、グライダーでかっ飛べばいいじゃんになる。本来ここ通ってね、これ起動して進んでねって作られたギミックをガン無視でゲームクリアができるほどに。
　
[b]いい要素[/b]
・クリスタルの反応レーダーを手に入ればクリスタルを見逃す事がほぼなくなる。
・色んな植物を駆使して道を切り開く工夫してる感は楽しい。
・前作とは比較にならない機動力を手に出来る。

[b]悪い要素[/b]
・タイトルの成長させる要素の植物が意味をなしてない。
・相変わらず慣性が無駄に強い歩行で狙ったとこに立ち止まれない。
・チャレンジミッションの制限時間がどれもこれもギッリギリでめちゃくちゃ難しい。
・機動力インフレが早すぎて色んなギミック、新機能を気づかずに無視できてしまう。　

[h3]まとめると[/h3]
∟前作をクリアしてから今作をする事を強く推奨。よりインフレした機動力で探索する楽しさは前作プレイしてたからこそ得られると思う。絶対に前作「Grow Home」からプレイするんだぞ、絶対だからな！

Продолжение приключений робота и материнского корабля по исследованию планет.

Если в кратце, то ничего нового, по сравнению с 1ой игрой, возможно, лишь минорные изменения.

Геймплей - Исследование планеты, сбор кристаллов и частей разбитого корабля, выращивание звездных ростков. Но если в 1ой части чувствовался прогресс с ростом цветка, который был 1, то здесь это выглядит больше как гриндилка 3х цветков, которые меньше по размеру. Добавили механику шара, который не применяется нигде.

Грфика - Пряитная глазу лоу-поли картинка, которая полностью раскрывается в ночное время суток, ибо цветкор там шикарен.

Аудио - Очень скудное музыкальное сопровождение, но расслабляющее и атмосферное.

Из прям раздражающих минусов:
1) Инерция робота. Она, наверное, должна быть, но не когда, чтобы остановится, он делает еще шагов 5 (зависит от скорости).
2) Управление планером. в рандомный момент он может просто выбрать направление в любую сторону или при ускорении с поднятым носом начать топить вниз по прямой к земле.
3) Просадки на миллисекунду фпс до 1, из-за чего камера улетает в рандомном направлении.

Итог - В целом норм, пару вечерков побегать и забыть. От продолжения ожидалось большего масштаба и новых механик, но, увы.
