Очень хорошая игра. Всем советую пройти, с модами на оптимизацию. Проработанный сюжет, но к середине игры надоедает бегать туда сюда от города до ферм. Много побочных квестов с продолжением и резкими сюжетными поворотами. Озвучка 10 из 10. DLC Ночь Ворона тоже хорошо проработан, но сам остров показался мне более запутанный. Если каждый угол в игре изучать уйдет с сюжетом и квестами 65+ часов.

Just Like many successful classic sequels, Gothic II faithfully preserves the core essence of its predecessor while achieving comprehensive upgrades and expansions across the board. Exploration remains the soul of the game. Compared with the original, it features a vastly larger map, and its combat system has been tastefully refined. Although its overall scale is smaller than that of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, released around the same time, it excels in high-density exploration: while wandering the wilderness, players can easily discover shipwrecks, hidden caves, dense jungles, eerie tombs, and other explorable content. Hunting monsters for materials, gathering herbs to brew potions, crafting unique weapons and gear, and delving into dungeons for treasure……these diverse mechanics make every journey full of surprises and rewards.

And Gothic II boasts over a hundred substantial quests, including the main storyline and various NPC side quests. Unlike the simplistic fetch and carry quests in Morrowind, most of these offer multiple solutions and different outcomes. On the other hand, it abandons the hand-holding quest marker system seen in Fallout: New Vegas. All clues must be uncovered through personal conversations with NPCs or accidental discoveries during exploration, brimming with the joy of the unknown. What’s more, many side quests are not mere filler content; instead, they enrich the worldbuilding from various angles, allowing players to understand this tense, immersive game world more fully and deeply. The main storyline is equally impressive: players can choose from three completely distinct paths, each tied to a unique faction, offering a one-of-a-kind playstyle and narrative perspective that directly shapes future character progression. While key story beats are fixed, the true essence of the game lies in how you reach them, every choice and every step of exploration creates a uniquely personal experience. Today, dynamic NPCs with realistic daily routines are a hallmark of The Elder Scrolls series, but Gothic II achieved this long before: in towns, villagers work hard by day and unwind at taverns, chatting and smoking with friends at night; guards follow strict schedules and rotate shifts according to the day-night cycle; if you attack someone, they will hold a grudge and confront you directly in your next encounter.

Yet Gothic II, which should have been a globally recognized classic, ended up as a beloved cult favorite cherished only by a niche audience. Largely, this is due to its unconventional control scheme. Some mechanics feel stiff and awkward at first and take time to master: for example, attacking requires holding Ctrl + W/A/S/D; there are no hotkeys for quick saving or quick potion use; opening the inventory during combat does not pause the game; and after leveling up, players must find specific trainers to convert skill points into attributes. The developers seemingly used this high difficulty as a filter. For newcomers, it can easily lead to frustration. Unlike modern mainstream RPGs, the game has no automatic health regeneration. The early-game difficulty is brutal, with danger lurking everywhere, even defeating a single wolf demands careful planning. You must save frequently and grow through trial.

Gothic II is not a perfect game, but its flaws are far outweighed by its greatest strengths: a living, believable world and deeply free-form exploration. If you are willing to embrace a tough challenge, give it a chance. Whatever the outcome, I believe it will be an unforgettable experience. Since then, few games of the same genre have reached such a height.

I Like Old School but for a game about some dude saving the world in a previous part, NPC's don't be watching their tone. Next problem is if i fight said NPC or more than one enemy at once, you get jumped. Making the attack and block universal so that everyone gets hit or blocked would be great. It's legit a souls-bourne game with wonky controls and im no masochist, so adios.

Je pense que l'on tient un des RPG les plus immersifs qui existe. La courbe de progression est difficile mais in fine, ultra satisfaisante. Le système de compétences est original et crédible. Le monde est vivant, les PNJ ont une routine, tout semble avoir un impact sur le reste. Les graphismes de l'ère 2000-2005 ont un charme inégalé et la map, grande mais pas immense, est richissime. On a ce sentiment de "monde ouvert de poche" où le moindre mètre carré a des choses à proposer aux joueuses et joueurs. C'est très très similaire au premier opus mais c'est plus beau, plus détaillé et je pense que c'est doté d'une rejouabilité pas trop dégueu... À voir.

Je finirai sur cette anecdote: Après avoir obtenu le rang de citoyen de Korynis (écrivez ça comme vous voulez), on m'a donné accès aux hauts quartiers de cette même ville. Le premier PNJ qui me parle me prend de haut et me traîte de mendiant. J'attends que tombe la nuit, je le suis pour savoir où il vit, je patiente le temps qu'il aille se coucher avec son épouse, puis je rentre chez lui discrètement grâce à la compétence de faufilement que j'ai appris auprès d'un maître. Je vais jusqu'à sa cuisine et vole son saucisson posé sur le plan de travail. Le summum de jeu de rôle.

Сколько бы я не проходил эту игру, она всегда дарит мне только положительные эмоции. Это игра моего детства, поэтому каждый раз я впадаю в ностальгию. Но эта игра не только о ностальгии. В действительности, это отличная рпг с довольно проработанным миром, лором, сюжетом, и по сравнению с первой частью даже персонажи получили какую то предысторию. Это классика.

Коротко: это непоколебимый шедевр

Проходил эту игру раз 5, ещё на диске Акеллы. Она великолепна буквально во всем, если не учитывать то насколько она старая. Купил её тут чисто чтобы была всегда с собой. А тут ещё и вышел Архолос - он великолепен.

Крайне хороший сюжет и квесты в целом. Вариативность решения проблем просто потрясающая.
Бывает ругают боевую систему, но она мне нравится: бой тут - не простой обмен уроном, это - дуэль и это прекрасная дуэль (даже с чертовым шершнем).
Прокачка навыков крайне важный и нужный аспект, в том числе оптимизация использования очков обучения. Навыков много и все из них по своему полезны: кузнечка, воровство, алхимия, <вырезание жала шершня/кровавой мухи>.
Повышения уровня мастерства боя это не просто +урон, +скорость атаки, +крит, это разительная разница в движениях и удобстве управления(логично же!), хотя технически можно пройти и новичком боя (если вы киборг).
Готика для меня, это не просто "ещё одна игра из детства", это живой мир, в который ты погружаешься без остатка при каждом запуске. Я люблю видеоигры, но эта - любимейшая и любимых.

Абсолютная легенда своего времени. Игра в которой нудно не просто бежать от одной точки к другой, а думать как и что сделать. В игре много вариантов развития сюжета/персонажа до конкретного финала. Вариативность стилей игры благоволит к тем людям, которые любят перепроходить игры спустя какое то время. Интересный сюжет до поры до времени, а так же мир, который хочет, чтобы его изучали. Gothic 2 is a classic RPG. Most players, including me, feel incredible nostalgia for this game as a true RPG from our childhood. I would recommend it even to new players to see what older games can offer and how some of the solutions from back in the day are missing in modern games. The way combat evolves with your skill is a masterpiece idea.

Одна из самых любимых игр детства! Никогда не забуду ту атмосферу, когда с братом сидели играли по ночам в неё... Встреча с первым орком и его ором, когда мы на весь дом заорали от испуга в два часа ночи и потом нас вгасили хорошенько из-за этого))) Эти диалоги, мем-фразочки, локации, звуки, музыка... Верните те времена, пожалуйста... Кайфово, что есть патчи, которые адаптируют игру для новых систем и всё работает, отдельное спасибо умельцам за это! Скорее всего, по достоинству игру оценят только олды, но всё равно очень рекомендую!

[h1]After Gothic 1[/h1]
After finishing Gothic 1 and surviving the early-game butt ♥♥♥♥ experience where the game goes deep in your ass, I went straight into Gothic 2 for more of that.

And right away, the world feels better.

Not just bigger. Better designed. More alive. More layered. Returning to old areas while seeing how things changed was great. Exploration is easily one of Gothic 2’s strongest points.

[h1]World vs Flow[/h1]
Here’s the thing.

Gothic 2 improves a lot over Gothic 1. The world, exploration, crafting, and story are all stronger.

But at the same time, it frustrated me more.

There are a lot more characters. A lot more quests. A lot more systems. And sometimes it becomes too much. I found myself confused more than once trying to keep track of who wanted what and where I needed to go.

The journal fills up fast, and sometimes quests become impossible to finish because of choices you made earlier. But they just stay there anyway. That part felt messy.

Hot take maybe, but I actually liked the quest flow in Gothic 1 more.

[h1]Puzzles and Backtracking[/h1]
The puzzles in Gothic 2 are honestly the worst part.

They’re not obvious, and the solutions often don’t feel logical. Like needing to shoot a bridge switch with an arrow, or flipping switches in a order with no clear indication of what the order is.

Technically, NPCs give hints. But that means backtracking long distances just to ask them. And Gothic backtracking is never short.

So instead of solving things naturally, I often just brute forced it faster. It would have been better if NPCs showed up near puzzles or if the solutions were more intuitive.

Gothic 1 beat Gothic 2 here simply by being more straightforward.

[h1]Progression and Soft Lock Moments[/h1]
The crafting and stat systems are much better this time. Potions, upgrades, and build paths give you more control.

But that also means you can mess up.

At one point, I semi soft locked myself by not min-maxing properly. I hit a stage where I was doing the minimum 5 damage to enemies. I felt like I had been progressing fine, then suddenly I hit a wall.

New area. Enemies tanking everything. Me hitting like a wet noodle.

I had to grind my way out of it. Once I broke free and got better weapons, I started destroying everything again. Classic Gothic progression. Pain first. Power later.

[h1]Story and Improvements[/h1]
The story is great. Easily one of the best parts of the game.

Gothic 2 also improves crafting a lot and gives more meaningful ways to build your character.

And unlike Gothic 1, the world itself didn’t feel like it was constantly trying to murder me. The main struggle here wasn’t enemies. It was systems and puzzles. The only place where the game really butt ♥♥♥♥♥♥ me was puzzle design.

[h1]Looking Ahead to Gothic 3[/h1]
What I also like is that the game doesn’t heavily hint toward Gothic 3. The story feels like it could go anywhere next.

But now I’m just wondering how the hell they’re going to reset me again. I’ve killed dragons, undead dragons, orcs, mages… everything. And somehow Gothic 3 is going to turn me back into a nobody that guards spit on and call trash. That’s the Gothic experience.

And honestly, I can’t wait to see how they pull it off.

[h1]Conclusion[/h1]
Gothic 2 improves on a lot from Gothic 1. The world, exploration, crafting, and story are all better.

But it also adds frustrations through puzzles, quest overload, and progression traps.

I genuinely don’t know which one I prefer.

Gothic 1 had a smoother flow.
Gothic 2 has the stronger world.

Both are great. And I would absolutely recommend Gothic 2

Честно пытался пройти, почти 40ч наиграл.

Но игра безнадёжно устарела, и речь не только о графике и боевой системе. Сюжет, диалоги, доп квесты и логика происходящего на 2026-й год хромают на обе ноги. Никакой стиль прохождения не затягивает.

Важный момент для тех кто не понимает, это полноценная соло ММОРПГ. Здесь много обязательного фарма, слабые квесты и просто душный геймплей.

Если хотите попробовать что-то адекватное на этом же движке, в этом же мире и с вылеченными болячками вроде обязательного гринда, слабого сюжета и слабых квестов - пробуйте Архолос. А этот реликт истории отправляется в музей где ему самое место.

Великая игра- великая классика. Лучше РПГ до сих пор и не придумали. Мне лично первая часть намного больше запала в душу, и её куда чаще перепроходил.

The game has good rpg gameplay, but the combat is just so unbelievably bad it ruins the experience. I wish there was a mod that overhauls this clunky combat. I don't mind the difficulty and progression, but this combat is by far the worst I've ever experienced in any game ever. It being old is no excuse either, in its day there were so many solid rpgs which had decent combat.

Проходил раз двадцать и когда-то купил на распродаже в стиме. Решил окунуться снова. Установил первую часть и просто запоем на два раза прошел. Сразу перешел ко второй, ее уже на три раза пробежал за разные классы. Больше нравится ванильная готика, за ее статы, за ее прокачку и так далее. Амулеты дают больше бонусов и не нужно шариться по Яркендару.
Фаната этой игры. поклонник, сторонник и все тому подобное. Сколько за жизнь наиграл в нее, наверное 1000+ часов. Спасибо Пираньям за счастливые часы. Таких приятных игр очень мало. Тем более таких, которые хочется проходить и проходить. Новых игроков может отпугнуть графика, и боевка. Для олдов же это не является препятствием. лучшая РПГ. Пираньи умели в лвл дизайн и наполненность мира, за каждый поворотом тебя могут ждать противники и награды. Каждый раз при прохождении ты находишь что-то новое: новый диалог, побочный квест или предмет, возможно на который ты раньше не обращал внимание. Просто удивительно.
Есть и минусы: Игра душнит своим лутом, которого немерянно валяется, рекомендую поставить квиклут из мастерской, а так же ускорение времени. Потому что пираньи умеют заставить тебя побегать по локациям по 3-4 раза туда сюда, а то и больше. душнит плавающая сложность по главам. в первой и второй, и резкий переход к имбе в 3-4 . А так же короткая 6 глава(эндгейм).Где ты завершаешь прокачку владения и можешь насладиться 100 владением только в этой главе. За мага 5 и 6 круг магии, ты открываешь в 5 и 6 главах соответственно. 6 кругом ты вообще не успеваешь насладиться, ибо свитки для создания рун лежат на ирдорате уже почти под самый конец для двух заклинаний. Не продумано.
Но не смотря на это игру очень рекомендую к прохождению.

Игра детства. Не порекомендовать я не могу её, потому что я потратил уйму времени на её прохождение и проходил не один раз. В своё время это был шедевр. И сейчас для меня она актуальна и играбельна, переплюнет большинство современных РПГ.
