This is a really strange HOPA game from Artifex Mundi. It's theme, story, and setting are all over the place, which caused me to lose interest. It is also incredibly heavy on static hidden object screens over puzzles. I don't believe I have ever encountered this many hidden object screens in a HOPA game before. I mean some hidden object screens are fine of course, but wow there are a ton of them in this game. And as others have mentioned, the voice acting is so bad that it becomes distracting and lessens enjoyment of the experience in my opinion. I also encountered an instance with one of the numerous hidden object screens where I lost mouse clicking connectivity and had to back out and reenter the screen to be able to click items again. I was bored and done at that point anyway. I cannot recommend this game, as there are much better HOPA games out there. I would much rather play Ghost Files 2 Memory of a Crime, which is far superior to this game in my opinion.
Very smooth gameplay and no gamebreaker riddles. A relaxing experience for a rainy day. Only thing I did not like was the mix of reality and fantasy as the story is a murder case investigation and I found the fantasy episodes out of place. But still a solid title from the publisher.
Yeah, this is...not one of the better HOGs. A coherent, halfway decent story - although calling it "Ghost Files" is a stretch; the only supernatural bits are some odd trips to Limbo - weighed down by bad puzzles and a frankly unhinged amount of typos and/or translation issues, like a map where a restroom is labeled as "friendly room."
The typos and puzzles are what really drags this game down, IMO. The bad voice acting (not AI, for the record) is par for the course with these types of games, and so is the bad animation. (Although the "my teeth are pastede on yey" effect on some characters' mouths is in the running for best-worst.) But the hidden object bits are tricky in all the wrong ways, and half the puzzles and minigames solve themselves. There's one in particular, [spoiler] a "fight" against a soul catcher [/spoiler], that I'm still 95% convinced you solve by...doing nothing and waiting for it to solve itself.
On a lighter note, I'd be remiss not to mention my personal favorite goofy moment: when the protagonist calls up one of her co-workers at the police station by... ...dialing 911. As we all would.

it's decent. there are some grammatical errors at a few points that took me out of the game for a little while but nothing that makes the story incomprehensible. love the matching game whenever you do a hidden object puzzle because sometimes you can find the objects on a first glance, others not so much.
There are some story plots here. And on each stage, you only have to search objects in several different scenes, which makes things not too complicated. Generally, this game is interesting and relaxing, which serves its purpose and targeted players very well.

剧情上可以说完美展示了取消死刑的危险性，死亡世界和证据比对系统并没能给游戏的剧情体验带来新意。[spoiler]开局的连环杀人案尸体身边发现“有罪”字条本以为会展开一个有反转的故事，实际上只是一个数年前就因连环杀人案被关进精神病院的杀人魔的复仇。明明有那么多次机会能顺手把女主干掉，结果每次都只是打晕，要不是主角不能死我都要怀疑杀人魔是不是喜欢女主了。[spoiler]

Considering I've played other hidden object games by this developer before, this game, unfortunately, isn't great. The game mechanics of having to find actual evidence relating to the crime is sadly poorly utilised, the plot itself is silly and illogical, and overall the puzzles are not as interesting as other games. The game is also riddled with spelling and grammatical errors. Strongly do not recommend.
우선 게임 실행이 안된다면 스팀 설정에서 '게임 내 Steam 오버레이 사용'항목을 꺼라. 꺼져있다면 켜라. 앱 실행이 안되서 호환성도 건드려보고 별거 다 건드려봤는데 스팀에서 설정 건드니까 실행이 되더라
문디사의 무난한 HOG 게임
형사가 되서 증거물 수집하면서 살인 사건 범인을 추적하는 내용인데, 수사물에 너무 큰 기대를 하면 안되고, 지문이나 DNA 조사 같은게 있긴하지만 인벤만 어지럽고 그닥 큰 재미를 느끼거나 직접 증거를 수집하고 분석한다는 기분은 별로 들지 않았다. 그냥 수사물 분위기 조성에만 한몫한듯. 더불어 증거들을 모아다가 추리하거나 증인들에게 탐문하거나 이런것도 없다. 그냥 언제나의 문디사 HOG인데 약간의 수사향을 첨가했다고 보면 될듯
스토리가 좀 호불호가 갈릴듯한데, 수사물이라 좀 현실적인걸 생각했는데 갑자기 이승과 저승이 나오면서 스토리가 산으로 가는 느낌을 받았다. 물론 문디사의 많은 게임들이 그렇듯 갑자기 판타지쪽으로 방향트는거 한두번이 아니긴해서 익숙하기도하고 이런개 또 색다르다면 색다르겠다(좋다는 뜻은 아니다). 뜬금 없는 전개와 설정의 허술함 등 스토리 중시하는 분은 주의
시스템이나 한글 번역은 늘상 보던 문디사의 여타 작품들과 엇비슷하다. 그래도 한글 번역이 몇몇 단어들 빼고는 상당히 잘된 편이라 스토리 이해하는데는 문제가 없었다. 지도도 있고 힌트도 있고 클리어 후의 후일담 볼 수 있는 컨텐츠도 있고. 오래된 게임이지만 그래픽도 꽤 좋은 편이다
무난한 문디사의 평타치는 HOG니 문디사 HOG 좋아한다면 추천
2편도 있는데 2편은 1편에서 딱 판타지 요소만 빠졌으니 그게 불호였던 분은 2편을 하시라 권하고 싶다
Ghost Files: The Face of Guilt offers a decent storyline that keeps you intrigued throughout the main game. However, the bonus content was a major letdown and felt like an afterthought, adding little value to the overall experience.
The soundtrack is a highlight, creating an immersive atmosphere that complements the game's eerie tone. Unfortunately, the puzzles were often too easy, making parts of the gameplay feel uninspired and lacking challenge.
While the main game is enjoyable, the disappointing bonus chapter and simplistic puzzles prevent it from being a standout title in the genre.
I love these games, I don't know why this company stopped making them. But I definitely enjoy this very much,

Love a good Artifex Mundi game
This was a disappointing one. I wanted to like it, really I did. But the story is so flipping ridiculous it just makes me go "UGH." :( There's really no redeeming qualities either. Nothing makes up for the poor dialogue, very poor storytelling that makes NO sense, nor the poor minigames and HOPs to play. I do appreciate the length of the game - and the bonus story was a good length unlike so many that can be barely 5 minutes of playtime. If I were you, I'd only buy this game if it was.... $2. :(
Ghost Files 1 is a worrisome Hidden Object Mystery. Rough plot: A woman saves the life of the detective protagonist by helping her become psychic. Driven by the urgency of her visions, the protagonist commits crimes while on the trail of a killer rather than waiting for warrants, due process, or backup. Surprisingly, she is in fact under a time limit and it is shortly revealed that things could have gone horribly wrong had she taken different actions.
There's a number of different ways this could be handled. I think the writing here falls short, causing a major divide between the player's expectations and how the protagonist actually acts in critical moments. Yeah... If you already have a copy of this game, probably go ahead and play it. You're in for a weird ride. I can't recommend buying this game based on its own merits. Hopefully the sequel is better?
While mentally viewing Limbo, the detective can interrogate the psychic impressions of people and solve surreal elemental-based puzzles influenced by the past of the local area. The optional bonus case, out of left field, reveals that self-aware ghosts do exist and that they can physically abduct people into Limbo. I feel waiting until the epilogue to justify the game's title is an interesting flex.
In a rather odd slip for the Artifex Mundi catalog, the English version of this game contains frequent misspellings.
I thought it was neat that the optional collectibles came with short biographies of detectives, until I found enough to decide they weren't based on real cases. I find it strange that the first scene, and only the first scene, has a feature where you can turn to look at the other side of that specific room.
The game is not terrible and it is mechanically sound. While I seriously question the logic of the plot and the interactions with the world, I had no major issues with the puzzles. While I did rely on the optional matching game to skip finding the last item in several hidden object scenes, I still somehow managed a full run of Steam Achievements.

It's another short and sweet hidden object game by Artifex Mundi, and this one follows the tried and true formula of a female detective protected by Plot Armour as she hunts down a serial murderer.
But who cares about that! We want our fix of PUZZLES!
There are the standard mess scenes that we know and love, and as per normal, some of them require additional steps to reveal. They aren't too difficult to see which is a blessing, but the scenes themselves could have been better - they seemed on the borderline of low quality, but that might just be me.
Other things to expect are alternative scenes where you have a list of shadowy pictures of objects you are trying to find, which helps to keep you awake I guess, as you work your way through the game. I mean, if you happen to fall asleep while playing, it's nothing to be ashamed of. It's a comfort zone.
Additional collectables vary in type, but are limited to one per screen, so it's easy to keep track and get them all in one playthrough, just always look for the collectable before you do anything else on a new area. There are no morphing objects, but sometimes this is a good thing.
It might be a standard detective story, but it also has weirdness - some scenes are in a limbo-type area, where you get elemental powers and have to escape back to the normal world. Sadly you can't take your powers with you when you leave... it's not like inFamous where you can start blowing up the city.
If you like HOGs, this is pretty standard fare. I'd wager if you like the genre or you're a game collector you'll get the game anyway!

It's a decent one, the puzzles are all pretty easy and the HOP are easy too with the exception of a few objects. The character design is hilarious though so that's always a plus.
my honest recommendation would be "yes and no" at the same time. But sadly i can chose only 1.

Conclution: You play as "detective" but the things you do, would put you into jail rather then solving anything or atleast you could lose your job over it.
A really good HOG for those that love the genre. Not going to blow your socks off, but I enjoyed it all the way through. Perhaps could be a bit more challenging.
This is a fine hidden object adventure game. Totally standard, wholly average. A Ghost Files 2 exists, and I'll play it soon.

Gioco veramente carino, fatto bene e non banale.. La trama si segue con piacere e bella l'idea di unire un po di paranormale. Plot summary - You play as Detective Emily Meyer of the Boston PD. You are investigating a series of murders that is thought to be work of the mysterious serious killer. Bethany Stenwards calls to the police station, telling they might know who the killer is. Police department has asked for a psychics named Susan for help in the case, which you do not really believe that you will need since it's spiritual mumbo-jumbo in your opinion. After you receive tip who the killer might be, you are set on a adventure to reveal the killers identity. You soon also realize that you might need the psychic after all while you continue with your journey. You reveal more info about the killer and records show that they have been killed in a fire at the mental asylum long time ago, so how are the murders still happening? [spoiler] The killer staged their own death by placing the guard in their fire filled cell block while escaping them self. They went under a massive plastic surgery operations to look like your partner Frank. [/spoiler] Find the killers identity and solve the case!
Personally what comes to the plot i must say that it wasn't that great. I liked it first, but as the story continued i thought that it was too much and felt like two different genres was forced together. First time in the limbo made somewhat sense since you were almost dying in real life, but the other times it was just out of place and didn't seem to make that much sense regarding the story line. There was also a extra chapter after completing the main one that took place fully in the limbo, which isn't worst case scenario in my opinion since it's some what separate story from the main one, but still it was kind of out off place. I think the main story would have been better without the other limbos after the first one. Some times it felt like the twists were so far stretched that it didn't make sense.
Artwork is decent. It's same type as most of the Artifex Mundi games, i got nothing to complain about that. Some scenes were more interesting and pretty than the others. Soundscape was good, there was voice acting which is decent and background music wasn't annoying even tho in some parts it was repetitive. Overall look and ambience was okay throughout the game.
Mechanics were good. You have your typical map for easy moving, journal, arrows pointing where you can go and depending your difficulty level you could also have clear indicators where active areas are. You have multiple difficulty levels ranging from easy to hard, hard being the one where you got no active areas shown at all. As there is multiple different collectibles, you had clear indicator (three stars top of your items) when there is collectible in the scene. So it makes the achievement easier to get, since you can't really miss the items if you aren't completely blind. I played this game on advanced, without using any skip or hints. There wasn't that much mini games and what there was were quite familiar cookie cutter same stuff from the other games of this genre. Untangle the ropes etc.
I have to say tho, there was lots of HO scenes and only few of them got repeated so that is a big plus. Also there was multiple different style HO scenes, classic where you have to find by the name, ones where you have to find by the outline shape, ones where you collect parts to build one bigger item you need and so on. There was also chance that the items were hidden and not be seen straight away, which i really enjoy in these games since it makes the HOs small little puzzles and tad bit harder than the average just click away scenes. I have to make a little side note that there is few typos throughout the game. I don't think it's a huge con since there isn't that many, but still noticeable. What comes to game play in overall, it was pretty straightforward. Wasn't that hard on advanced, i might have had to choose even harder difficulty now that i have played the game. There was extra content too. Main menu offers you a chance to look at the artwork, listen to the soundtracks, play mini games or the HO scenes from the game.
You are able to collect all steam achievements (22 total) in one game play which is always a big plus since i play games in hopes to get complete games to my profile. Achievements in this game are also good, not too hard to get, but still requires you to be careful that you don't miss any.
Would i recommend this game? Yes, but with some conditions. I wouldn't pay full price from this game when it's 14,79 euros (16,34 USD). You get decent 3-4 hours play from it even as a experienced player including the extra chapter, but i can't justify the high price for a game that you only probably play once in your life and never again. As i mentioned earlier you get decent amount of HO scenes, extra chapter and overall ambience is decent, the plot makes it not worth the price. This game gets recommendation from me still since there was little bit more good than bad, but i would wait it come to a sale. Preferably for a less than 5 euros. It's still overall decent game to pass the time, even though it's not the best of the genre.

I would probably give it a positive review, but a 7+ years old (it was reported a little while after release here on steam) bug has just broken my game and the only option might be resetting the whole progress, so here's a negative one instead
Good game, good storyline, plenty of puzzles so would recommend this game. Some spelling mistakes which is surprising because of the good quality game it is but apart from that its enjoyable to play.
I don't play games often, but when i do its always hidden object games. This game has kept my attention and has challenged me. I do recommend!

A truly bizarre hidden mystery game. The theme is all over the place. I genuinely forgot that the title was "Ghost Files" since there...isn't really much "ghost" stuff in it other than the concept of limbo, which isn't really a "ghost" thing.
The plot points surrounding limbo are never really firmly established nor concluded and frankly the whole ghost thing felt completely unnecessary - we're a detective. We solve crimes. It's literally our job. It makes sense for that to be the driving force of our character.
Puzzles are kind of arbitrary (why would I need to replace a light bulb in order to walk down the world's shortest hallway to talk to a witness??? We can literally see the door) but some arbitrary puzzles are to be expected in these sorts of games. Felt like a bit much though.
I wouldn't say this game was very compelling in terms of plot, but if you want to do some search and find, go for it I guess. Maybe just wait for it to go on sale first. I wouldn't pay more than $5 maximum and honestly might not even pay that.
Main Notes:
- little to no replay value
- price is too high for the quality you receive
- voice acting is abysmal (but that may be funny to some)
- movement can be frustrating; I frequently would click to "go back" to a previous room when I was exploring because the "go back" area took up, like, 1/4 of the screen at the bottom.

另外一個是偶爾會碰上奇怪翻譯，比如要我點擊"弓"
我點到最後居然是個蝴蝶結，黑人問號?
還有要我點擊"安可"，蛤??畫面上有個東西叫做安可??
結果點到最後是遊戲王裡死蘇那個復活的標誌._.|||
畫風我滿喜歡的，語音有點生硬，其他大差不差的
玩起來算還可以，但不到推薦的程度

I'm not going to sit here and say that Ghost Files has a good plot 'for a HOG', because there are some HOGs out there with brilliant plots, and other with bad plots that would remain bad no matter the game's genre. Ghost Files' plot is bad because of its jumpy pacing, unnecessary paranormal elements that go nowhere, and the FACE/OFF switcheroo twist at the end that made the reveal boring.
Fine, the plot can be ignored, we're here for the puzzles and the hidden objects. Some puzzles solve themselves, so you only have to do the busywork of pressing buttons, almost no guess work is allowed on the player's part. The hidden object scenes were a mix of that and fragmented object scenes, and they were neatly spaced from one another. Visually, it's fine, and so is the audio department for the most part (the voice acting is cheesy and we love cheese in this neighborhood).
Honestly, I could have recommended Ghost Files if it trusted the player enough. It doesn't, so only grab this on discount because it is pretty to look at, the Monaco game is a nice and addictive alternative to the hidden object scenes if you'd like to replay it and spice things around.

Good Point and Click Mystery with several puzzles to solve.
Not bad, but not their best. I know better than to expect an epic story from a HOG, but this one was weirder than average. Lots of magical-mystical mumbo jumbo without any real backup in the story. I would have enjoyed it more if it had been more coherent. Still, spent a relaxing 4-ish hours playing, so I can't complain.
Artifex Mundi used to make superb HO games....really, honest. They may not have been the utter zenith of the genre, but they were solid, well made (good graphics, writing, voice-acting, etc.) exemplars of it. Lately though, it seems like they mostly publish other developer's games, and not very frequently either, certainly not in recent memory.
The game in question, Ghost Files: The Face of Guilt is published by Artifex Mundi, but developed by Brave Giant. And that name should tell you all you need to know.....Brave Giant is the epitome of low-rent, badly animated, horrendously written, horror-shows of mediocrity, with occasionally quite clever mini-games that barely make the drek around them worth playing through. And this is no exception.
The writing is atrocious, the graphics are weak as a kitten, the hidden object puzzles are hopelessly average, the voice acting isn't even B-movie grade, and only the mini-games stand out as being fun and mildly original (but only barely).
I can't in good conscience recommend something so lackluster; at its best it is only middle-of-the-road, and at its worst, it's pure groan-worthy dreck.
Not recommended.
I really appreciate it when the puzzles make sense, where its NOT a huge number of items hidden all over the place for the sake of making it overly complicated. Its an old game so the graphics aren't fantastic, but that didn't hinder the game play experience at all. The achievements are pretty straight forward as well, not crazy hard to attain as long as you remember to find the collectibles in each scene. Really happy to find out that this is the first of a two game set, hope they continue with it!
"Cheap-made" illogical $h!t... With some elements {especially in Bonus chapter} from the other games of the same developer.
Still playable though... You can buy it if you want to kill some time {several hours} for easy puzzles and for finding some hidden collectibles. But only with enormous discount, probably in a bundle.
I played in a hard mode, didn't take a peek in any guides and got all Steam achievements in slightly more than one playthrough. All achievements are easy to get, can be done in one playthrough, and it is not necessary to complete the Bonus chapter for them.

I really enjoyed this game. No evidence board like in Enigmatis, but you get to collect and process items of forensic evidence which was cool. The story isn't too bad either, with a dash of the paranormal. Even the bonus chapter fit well. Recommended for fans of this type of game, and detective shows. ^-^

This game was fine. I usually seem to enjoy the more fantasy-themed games more than the other ones, but this one had an interesting idea and story, although I wish they went more into the story a bit? They kind of explain the spirit real a little and they don't seem to really explain the grim reaper type spirits that much, but it was fine.
Lots of different locations as this is an crime story so there's lots of traveling and trying to get into crime scenes, different things like that, but it works.
There was an indicator for the collectibles, so I was able to collect them all in one playthrough, which I always like the achievements were all fair and there was no difficulty achievement so you can play it on casual and still get all the achievements. I think if I have a criticism it's that I wish the spirit aspects of the story were explained better, and also for any of these crime-based games, I wish there was more of a reason to pay attention to clues and characters. Essentially the games solve their own mysteries without any input from the player. There are some forensic tools you use to collect evidence, but it always comes off here as being more like a puzzle or minigame than anything that drives the story forward. It's fine, but I always thought it would be cool to have a game like this where you had to make you own deductions in order to solve the crime and maybe there's different ending depending on if you are correct or not. But at their heart, I know that these are hidden object puzzle games, and this one is fine. It's not my favorite, but it's far from my least favorite.
I did not experience any technical issues with this game and this games does have a bonus adventure.

The HOG scenes, puzzles and minigames were fun and had just the right amount of challenge for my taste - nothing bad to report here, have fun!
The scenes were fun to investigate and the story was fun to follow, tbh. Unexpectedly entertaining, well done!
I only got slightly stuck one time due to totally overreading what i already have in my inventory ... maybe i was too focused on the scenes themselves; to get more into detail: i already had the 2 missing fridge lock pieces collected ... but i nevertheless searched for more and wondered why i can't find anything more - duh.
Getting 100% of the achievements was possible in one run for which i spent ~2,5hrs of non-rushing playtime, so this is rather a short title.
The bonus chapter (not needed for any achievements) took another 30min to complete. While the bonus story was nothing too captivating and not comparable with, but rather an extension to the main story, the artwork was drawn fine again.
But anyway i recommend this one, as i enjoyed the setting/story/extras indeed.
(Maybe - according to 100% play-through-time - get it on sale, though.)

아티팩트 문디사의 게임들은 항상 비슷한 가닥으로 흘러간다. 어정쩡한 그래픽과 황당한 스토리를 참아 넘길 수 있는 무던함을 가지고 있고 퍼즐 게임을 좋아하는 사람이라면 킬링타임용으로 즐기기 좋다. 대부분 번역문제만 빼면 엥간해서는 평타 치는 경향이 있다. 그래서 여태 10개가 넘는 게임을 재미있게 플레이해왔고 항상 추천 평가를 남겨왔다.
그런데 오래간만에 플레이한 이번 작품은 여타 다른 착품들과 다를 바 없다가도 뭔가 조금 삐끗 어긋난 느낌이 든다... 스토리 개연성이 너무 황당하고 엔딩도 허무하기 짝이 없어서... 약간 게임하면서 엥.. 싶었던 적이 몇번 있었다. 번역도 이해에는 문제가 없지만 딱히 막 엄청 잘 되어있지는 않다.(어색한 문장, 오역 있음)
그래도 이정도 이슈는 저렴한 할인가 생각하면 그냥저냥 ㅇㅋㅇㅋ하고 넘어갈 정도이다. 막 엄청 재미있지는 않았는데 그래도 문디에 대한 애정 한줌이 있어서 추천글로 남긴다.

It is an alright Artifex Mundi hidden object game, not much more to say.
Linux version of the game works without any issues.
this is yet another 2017 AM game that a younger me would find interesting (given that persian nights 1 is also a 2017 release). i've played this game but haven't finished entirely due to reasons and finally playing it again for such a long time was a breath of fresh air.
overall, i like how some hidden objects need more effort to be seen or clicked at. it avoids the intention of the player to spam the screen just for achievements [strike] which is something i still do but that's only my kind of thing please don't practice that and enjoy the game as it is. [/strike] there's nothing to say about the puzzles, they're your typical AM puzzles.
i do find it quite a bummer that the forensics stuff were only used thrice. i wish they were used more throughout the story.
i would rate this a 7 for experience, though. a not-so-bad attempt in combining magic and police investigations.

It's a Brave Giant point and click adventure, nice reliable quality and everything you'd expect from the genre. The character models do sometimes give off BioWare face, that is a face that is noticeably uncanny when they're talking facing towards you, but other than that, the game is solid.
i actually enjoyed the game i am planning to buy more.
This brings me back to my childhood playing hidden object games on Facebook. This game is so cheesy, so poorly animated, but it is the best nostalgia game to ever play if you loved those Facebook games. I loved it. I struggled some with the puzzle parts but that's on me being bad with puzzle games.
10/10 going to play more by this developer because why not.

Very chill, but a very basic narrative
Rather solid hidden object game. Completed it rather quickly and had a small bonus at the end. Most puzzles were intuitive (not all). Character models are scary. The plot has some major holes in it so don't think to hard about that part.

I'm going to start out by saying I love HOPA games, and I hate having to write a negative review for a HOPA game. I first got into them in 2010, so I've seen some amazing ones and I have pretty high standards for these games. I'm very willing to give a pass and recommend HOPA games that are just okay.
That said, this game is NOT okay. It actually seems like the developer didn't try at all with this one. Minimal voice acting, no internal dialogue to both explain and further immerse the player, illogical plot points (i.e. main character starts out telling the psychic she doesn't believe in the supernatural, gets dumped into a supernatural event, psychic magically appears to help in said supernatural event, further explains supernatural event to our main character after it's over, and main character just shrugs and says okay), multiple typos and/or bad translations, poor transitions when going from one chapter to another, and a muddled story. This game can't decide if it's a detective murder mystery or a supernatural murder mystery, so it tried to do both and did so poorly. The scenes aren't even spectacularly beautiful; they're just standard, well-done HOPA art.
If you feel like you MUST have this game, get it on a deep discount like I did. It makes the bland disappointment easier to swallow.
I don't play hidden object games all that often, but I do enjoy one now and again. The description sounded interesting - solve crimes as a ghost - so I gave it a try.
It's not very good.
The artwork is fair, the music seemed OK (I turned it off after a while, just because I wanted to listen to a podcast), the story is kind of dull and obvious, the characters are flat and their actions make absolutely no sense whatsoever.
The puzzles are mostly fairly standard, but often fall into the trap of 'I need something sharp - I'll get a key from a bag that I have to move a cloth to uncover so that I can open a box that has an item I couldn't have known was there, that is no better for my purposes than the three sharp items that were in plain sight the whole time.'
The actual solving crimes as a ghost bit is barely even worth mentioning. You get shot, then just go through a few screens and then wake up again in hospital, then have another vision a bit later. You don't get any ghost powers in the real world, you don't suffer any consequences from your wounds, you don't even have any reaction about 'Goodness, there really is an afterlife'. The whole subplot could be removed without loss - and if your character (or anyone on the police force) was remotely competent, the whole thing could have been solved long before the game started.
Also, you're kind of a terrible person, assaulting perfectly innocent people who are just doing their job and robbing them.
The number of homes that have carefully built secret rooms, that open in response to bizarre moon logic puzzles, is remarkable. And why do these people, who are so paranoid about security that they have these physically impossible padlocks installed, all have the combinations written down on pieces of paper scattered around their homes? (That's a question to be asked of most HO games, tbf)
The text seems to have gone through Google Translate from the original language and then never been checked by a native English speaker. Grammar issues, spelling mistakes and just horrible ways to phrase things crop up all through the game.
I also had to replay about two thirds of the game after missing an item and then not being able to get back to collect it.
It's just not much fun to play through, but not quite bad enough to hit the hilariously bonkers level of stupid. There's nothing to recommend this one over half a dozen better options.

This was one of my very favorite HOP/Adventure type games. There were many beautifully rendered locations, there was often a character to interact with, the puzzles while simple weren't too challenging, the story was pretty good, the object interactions almost always made sense, there were some creative side things thrown in to mix it up. It's the perfect game to settle in with a cozy cup of coffee or bowl of soup and relax and enjoy it! Very highly recommended.

This is a very different hidden object game. You get to do some forensics and magic. It is a really fun game to play. It took me a while to get used to this game as it is quite different from the rest, however once I got the hang of it it was really nice to play. The graphics are really good and the voice acting is not too bad either. It takes about 3.5 hours to complete the first part of the game and unlock all the achievements. The second part of the game is really quick and only takes about 30 minutes to complete. Overall a really nice hidden object game with easy puzzles, mini games, collectables and achievements.

It was a fun puzzle game and a decent story. Some of the puzzles felt a little repetitive especially since i bought it as a bundle with ghost files 2. This one is my favourite of the two. 4.5/5
the slingshot disappeared on me. i tried everything to repair the game, but nothing worked. I had to restart the entire game. it was just so glitchy the entire way through that it was almost unplayable.
It is a good HOG. The game is somewhat older, but it's not that visible. Graphics is still quite good, but there are more shades of gray after all. Music is so-so. Mini-games are easier but still hard enough me to enjoy the gameplay. The story is really good and it is possible to feel it especially in the first half. The Limbo world is a little strange and I think it was possible to use this spiritual aspect in a little different way. HO screens are quite bright, items are quite big and in general HO aspects are similar to modern games. I liked to be a detective for a short time and I enjoyed most of the time of the game.

There are some definite leaps in logic with some of the solutions to just the general game play outside of the actual hidden object and puzzle portions. I think I actually laughed out loud when the solution to breaking a pad lock was to smack it with your LOADED GUN. Puzzles and Hidden Object portions are either comically easy or frustratingly difficult. When puzzles were frustrating there is no sense of satisfaction when you figure it out which makes it feel worse. A lot of this game has just left me feeling annoyed and like it's a chore.
Voice acting is particularly bad. The MC looks like a young woman, but sounds like she's like 80 years old or something. I don't usually leave reviews for HOGs, but this one is so bad I felt like I needed to go out of my way to say I don't recommend it. I'll still finish it because I can just leave it uncompleted.
На протяжении всей игры мне было либо скучно, либо смешно от тупого сценария истории. После финала я не смогла себя заставить пройти " бонусную главу" и просто нажала на "выход" из игры.
Для меня эта игра - разочарование, к покупке не рекомендую.
