A once $4.99 game that went free. The initial controls aren't great, but after playing around with some settings it plays fairly well. Some good arcade style shooting with plenty of charm. I wish the music was more present throughout, but it does make moments stand out when it is blasting!

Some of the older reviews state that this game costed money, in which case I would never have bought it since this is just a flash game that used to be free to play on browsers. Now that it's free however there's literally no reason not to give it a shot if you're interested in space shooters. It's nothing mind-blowing, but if you have an itch for a retro-styled space shooter it can make for a fun afternoon.

Pretty nice and free 8-bit shooter with 3 levels, didn't take too long to complete and I had my fun with it. Has built in cheatcodes to unlock all the upgrades or go to any level instantly, which was nice.

I loved playing this in middle school in a web browser. ~17 years later, and it's still a fun, cute, short game.

Join the Gamma Bros as they descend back to Earth to reunite with their loved ones. Along the way, there'll be bad guys, lots and lots of bad guys trying to hinder you and destroy you. Face menacing foes such as the Braniac and er... a giant head! Gather weapons and powerups to defeat these dangerous foes. You won't wanna miss out in this action packed adventure!
Good memories. Though, this version still has that problem where only one sound effect can be played at a time. So if you destroy armies of enemies fast enough, you won't hear any explosions. Oh well.
Creepy final boss, BTW.
I remember playing this game on websites when Adobe Flash was a hit back in the days, and I still like it! Specially the fact that is a shoot'em up and has pixel graphics :D

-El arma de tiros arcoiris esta rota (Rapid laser).

-Los controles para mando dejan que desear ya que estan alternados los botones arriba y abajo y no, no se puede cambiar desde el menu de inicio. Literal he tenido que usar el teclado para disparar y el mando para moverme ,porque moverse con teclado es pura ortopedia.

Better than Galaga.
"Gamma Bros." is a badly made donationware 2D retro pixel twin stick shoot 'em up thematically ripping off games like Galaga. The only notable twist is the badly implemented "twin stick" mechanic, where games like Galaga have you shooting in one direction, Gamma Bros has you aiming and shooting in 4 directions as enemies come from all 4 sides of your screen.
They chose to use obsolete retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. Resolution and controls are locked. These flaws push this game far below minimum acceptable standards for PC.
The game isn't entirely free as the developers have their hands out for a $1 USD donation, which is basically digital panhandling, a lot like the homeless guy that rubs a dirty wet rag on your windscreen at the traffic lights, and the quality of this game is certainly on par with that kind of experience.

It's a free game and it's pretty short so even if you don't like it, it won't waste much of your time. You can win from a clean start in less than 30 minutes (depends on how long it takes you to beat the bosses). You can also opt to use the unlock codes and make it even shorter/easier.
It plays like an old arcade game. Controls are simple and solid. It didn't have the 8-directional shooting when i first played this so that's a major improvement, and actually that makes the game a lot easier than it used to be.
It's not perfect but it's good enough for a quick diversion.

Top-Down-Shooter. Man schießt nicht mit Maus, sondern im klassischen Robotron: 2084-Stil. Horizontal, vertikal, diagonal, 8 Richtungen.
Gegnerzusammenstellungen sind sehr abwechslungsreich. Gibt auch mehrere Endgegner.
Spielt sich spektakulärer, als es auf den Bildern den Anschein hat. Voll gut!
Achei o jogo bem sem graça, não tem nenhum level, não tem a mesma emoção dos outros jogos do gênero. É interessante que você tem 2 personagens que pode usar (quando um deles morre), porém não é o suficiente para me fazer gostar.

Gamma Bros. is the best twin-stick space shooter to ever be invented and I love every second of playing it. I just wish it were longer.
I don't know, maybe I don't like the 8bit retro style, but that "atari style of sound" was perforating my ears, played 30 minutes and I want to kill myself. It doesn't have levels, just a password system. Come on, I mean I get that is based on those old school games, but come on, was that neccesary?
It's not hard, it took me forever to die twice and I think I almost beat it. But there's just better things for free on steam in this genre. Stargunner runs on a MSDOS emulator, it's a really fun game from the 90's and it's free on steam. Play that one. You don't have to go all the way to the 70's Atari to play a retro game. Damn, this thing make the original Super Mario Bros have fantastic graphics

yo this be a pretty darn fun. Bosses are unique and pretty cool. Once I 100% it tho there isnt much reason to go back to it. But it sure is a fun game. Definite recommendation for pixeljam fans.

Joguinho grátis com gráfico que lembra jogos de Atari, com chefões na mesma dificuldade, principalmente o último Boss.
Mas não gostei, principalmente da jogabilidade, 2019 e pra que usar o mouse né? (você só usa a teclado)
Mas ele tem peculiaridades: Sua nave é destruída e sair o astronauta atirando pelo espaço, trocar de nave com o outro astronauta e ter outras naves.
Tem um defeito que não gostei também, que é comprar a arma máxima e depois matar um monstro e pegar sem querer uma arma podre de dois tiros, isso é sacanagem.
Se investissem no gráfico e na jogabilidade até poderiam cobrar pelo jogo.
Mas meu voto hoje é não.

Very good twin stick shooter, a modern take on the invader arcade games. High paced, yet quite relaxing once you get that you fire with the arrows.
Bueno, que puedo decir, la verdad es un buen juego para entretenerse un rato y darse un buen vicio. Cada vez que lo juego me encanta, sobretodo el soundtrack, me encanta cuando inicias la aventura y suena esa música, YES YES YES YES. De todas formas, recomendado para pasar el rato.
