Já é consenso que os devs sabem fazer um boomer shooter de excelência, mas fico curioso como seria um shooter mais contemporâneo deles (nem to falando de gráfico).
Enfim, esse jogo é uma ótimo pedida para amantes de horror cósmico, boomer shooter, shooters no geral e fans do primeiro jogo! Recomendo muito!

I've played the first one and had one hell of a time playing it, this as well has been super fun to boot up. While I highly suggest getting this mostly when its half off not at all at full price.

Other than that if you love boomer shooters and hp lovecraft this game is a solid hit in my opinion, great weapons, level design, music, and okay(ish) story.

good game, bad luck.
I honestly like the game a lot, but the black screen problem bothered me throughout the experience, I did everything indicated in the messages posted on Steam but unfortunately it didn't work for me, I even made it worse because that happy dark screen no longer even appears. I bought it in 2025 and enjoyed the game despite not having a PC that could run the game very well, so I saved up to buy a much better PC so that I could run FM2 and other games better, but specifically, this was the one I was most looking forward to... a shame that I can't even try the game now on this new PC because of that blessed black screen...

Визуал конечно красивый, НО требует он несоизмеримо много, да и сделано халтурно некоторые места, особенно понравились жирные пиксельные линии у некоторых объектов.

Враги однообразны, без какой-либо вариации облика, эти мафиози, заключённые и солдаты будут везде, а ведь могли же быть более оригинальными и более привычны для локации.

Стрелять приятно, но иногда хотелось увидеть параметры оружия, а не расплывчатое описание.

Игра не показывает ничего нового или улучшенного, хотя на момент выхода были DOOM две части и postal brain damage

Если сравнивать с первой частью то имеется некое разочарование, игра стала чуточку короче и менее реиграбельнее, еще почти все оружие в игре неудобный/неприятный/бесполезный кал и только 6 из 24 пушек более менее норм. Сюжет стал намного хуже и бессвязнее, это просто каша из обрывков воспоминаний в голове шизика (хоть так все и преподносится но реализовано это все очень скудно, скомкано и бессвязно) игра буквально представляет собой просто тир (предпоследний уровень это буквально так и есть). По локациям и левелдизайну это тоже заметно, особенно последние уровни очень халтурные и вырвиглазные (у меня буквально чуть глаза не вытекли). Только 2 из 4 боссов были более менее норм, остальные 2 включая финального это просто бегающая глупая губка для пуль. На уровне осталась только музыка, она здесь хороша. В общем и целом не совеутю и не рекомендую играть если вы впервые увидели игру и даже если вы играли в прошую часть вы ничего не упустите если скипните данный "продукт".

The gameplay is slowed down a bit compared to the previous game but what was great in the first game is still intact here. The guns actually sound punchier and with the addition of a reload mechanic, even the reloads sound chunky and satisfying. The game has branching paths now and alternate endings that adds a lot of replay value.

I have one very personal and subjective complaint, but very prominent for me at least, which is the way the guns look and how they are aesthetically represented. I liked how, in the first game, the guns were all gothic science based, like the guns had vials with liquid in them and energy coils on them, the guns are now mostly just gross monsters that you wield and vomit/spit ammo out at the baddies. This of course is not a deal breaker for me but it is a, again, subjective issue I have with the game.

I'll be honest with you, I barely remember the story for the first game, and this one was kind of confusing in spots, but I'm not that worried about it. The game is pretty fun. The comic book visuals look really nice, and the action, while somewhat basic, is also fast and enjoyable thanks to the sprite work. Interestingly, this game doesn't have level up based builds. Instead, there's a card system where you can slot any three unlockable effect cards to create a build.

There are two types of cards: effect cards, which activate when you press the super book button, and passive cards that are always active. An example of the former is when you activate the magic book, you heal proportionally to the damage you deal. An example of the latter is getting more health and armor.

It's a neat system in theory, and supposed to be the main selling point of its blend of Lovecraft and FPSing, but the fact of the matter is that three slots is too few to make it feel really meaningful. There is a decent amount of options available, but I found them mostly useless when compared to cards that helped me with health because you can die very quickly. There's not really a sense of progression outside of unlocking weapon types.

While there are only six weapon slots, there are four variants for each one and I found it fun to experiment with the weapons. For instance, the melee weapon can be a shiv, which is fast but weak, an axe, which is slow but strong.... or it can be something more esoteric, like a severed, possessed arm named "Nasty Lenny" that imbues any enemy it hits with arcane energy that makes them explode upon death. Not every weapon is a winner, but I did overall like seeing the different archetypes they play around with.

It's a pretty standard game, but it's fun and well presented enough to be worth looking into if you need a boomer shooter fix.

Game has it identity and it is good.
Sound design is great.
Drawn style is cool. Unfortunately on screenshots and static scenes games looks way better comparing to actual gameplay.
It sounds weird, but probably it is just me too old for this boomer shooter.
I am spoiled by modern games mechanics.
Not everything feels quite right in this game. Movement feels too sharp, world design is outdated and lacks details, all doors annoys me with weird proportions.
I expected a bit more from this game.
I quit on 4th missing in church: I get soft-locked in a room where you first pick up rifle: no enemies were left, gates closed and I couldn't escape.
There are few things I cannot forgive any game. One of it is waisted time either by corrupted save file or softlocks like in my case here.
For the same price there are many better games.

I feel a bit uneasy about verdict, but unfortunately I can only recommend this game to absolute old doom style gamers or on 50+% sale.

Forcément un bon fps à l'ancienne c'est indéniable mais faire le 2 juste après le 1 c'est une légère déception !
Le premier qui ne s'est pas caché de reprendre tous les codes des anciens doom avec en plus l'arbre des talents et les pouvoirs, le 2eme lui tend vers un duke nukem like.
Ça n'aurait pas été dérangeant si comme le 1er c'était vraiment excellentissime.
Ici des achats d'armes mal foutu et des pouvoirs passifs ou actifs anecdotiques!
Le feeling des armes et les armes comme telle sont beaucoup moins bon..

Moins d'arene et moins brutale que le 1er, les boss sont eux aussi moins badass !

En revanche les graphismes et l'optimisation toujours tip top, le gameplay est de qualité et "l'asile" est sympa pour le "chaînage" entre les niveaux des scénarios

Un bon fast fps Mais pas autant qualitatif et surprenant que son 1er

[i][b]Forgive Me Father[/b][/i], with its flashy art direction and heavy-metal-infused run-and-gun action, was a solid and fun—if mediocre—example of a first-person shooter inspired by the classics.

The game delivered competent and promising brainless slaughter, but the weight of its shortcomings prevented its action from reaching truly satisfying heights. The initial appeal of its premise was completely superficial and did little to set the game apart from its competition.

A pitiful narrative, practically begging to be ignored, accompanied by an ineffective atmosphere, quickly smothered by the game’s fast pace and the banality of its action.

Generic levels full of repetitive ideas and barely memorable layouts, with a depressing allergy to verticality.

Uninspired and poorly defined weapons and abilities, many of them working in interchangeable ways.

Enemies that were just as uncreative and inflexible, resulting in encounters that were almost never in sync with the level design.

And visuals that, in motion, hindered readability more than they helped create a sense of place.

But the biggest problem is that combat, after a few stages, besides relying too heavily on ambushes as its favorite trick, quickly dissolved—due to poor resource balance and a lack of enemy complexity—into a shapeless, nuance-less mess, trivializing all the principles introduced early on.

All fights became the same. And worst of all: the action never really reached a proper climax. It always seemed to end sooner than it should.

And this resulted in a lukewarm, undemanding, and largely forgettable experience, unable to establish itself within its own proposal or stand out among its peers.

Functional as a mindless spectacle, but still just another one in the pile.

In that light, [i][b]Forgive Me Father 2[/b][/i] is, to a large extent, a considerable improvement.

Even though it gives up some elements that would appeal to fans of the first game instead of refining them, and remains largely vapid compared to the genre’s best examples, the design of this sequel is far more cohesive and effective.

But before we begin, do me a favor: turn off the subtitles and lower the voice volume all the way. Let’s also skip all the cutscenes.

It’s much better that way.

So... they could have followed two paths: double down and turn the game into a truly intense horde shooter, or hit the brakes and lean into the nuances of the combat mechanics—with more deliberate action, stricter resource management, and precise shooting—creating a better environment for atmosphere and horror gimmicks to actually work.

They chose a middle ground, slowing the pace of the action in a way that makes it more readable and easier to handle, without giving up the intensity of the hordes, which are now even more relentless.

You and the enemies move more slowly (and do more damage). Weapons need to be reloaded. Ammo reserves are much smaller. Only one character this time (for the better, I think). Quicksaves!

It’s nothing radically different, but it works much better than expected.

The slower rhythm allows the game’s action and exploration to unfold in a much smoother and more controlled way, in an almost perfect balance, letting the environments have some atmospheric spark and quiet time and allowing the player to appreciate the details without constantly being swallowed up by combat.

They even managed to make the use of darkness much more effective.

Ambushes now seem to have some planning behind their composition and delivery. It’s not exactly elegant, but at least they build the action toward genuinely fun shootouts instead of dropping the ball as soon as things start getting intense.

You can bet they'll [i]let it rip[/i] this time. Tim Fialka and his 8-string guitar are on fire.

Enemy variety is still small (which becomes very evident in the later stages), and they didn’t go much deeper into expanding their usefulness or versatility, nor into the subtlety of defeating them by hitting weak points. But their numbers were increased, and their usage (as well as overall volume) was drastically refined. There seems to be some degree of thought put into their implementation and they fit the level design much better.

Level design, in turn, is [i]significantly[/i] improved, with far more varied and elaborate environments, fluid to navigate, incorporating verticality in abundance (though not in particularly inventive ways), and full of convenient shortcuts.

With the exception of one single level (the last of the third act) and part of another (the tree section in the final level), the difference is night and day. Locations are large and intricate, very memorable, thematically consistent, full of distinct rooms and well-planned encounters, flowing in a way that leaves very little to complain about.

The presentation touch-ups are the icing on the cake and do a lot to improve the game’s feel and fluidity. The game now seems to have depth and to be much more impactful, and even though it reproduces almost all the elements of the first game, it does so far more competently, valuing composition and detail and avoiding the flat, cluttered aesthetic that previously harmed readability and gameplay.

They still haven’t leaned hard enough into the game’s surreal and insane premise to produce genuinely original levels, but everything is so much smoother and clearer to digest that it’s hard not to be satisfied—and this quality holds up until the end.

Mechanically, for better or worse, the skill tree upgrades and spells were replaced by a very restrictive system in which you choose three (in total) out of a variety of active (18) and passive effects (22), effectively allowing you to build specific play styles.

Very powerful combinations can be made with this system, and its limitations prevent it from breaking the game. It also prevents the magic abuse of the first game, since if you want to use the game's only skill effectively, you need to spend slots.

But it just felt like a poor substitute—especially because most combos are quite dull, and progression is far less meaningful. You have several items on the list that could simply be permanent upgrades, given how little they contribute. Instead, they just sit there collecting dust. It was definitely a change that didn't add much.

And the whole thing should have been more tied to exploration, which remains quite unrewarding.

The arsenal, on the other hand, was expanded to four weapons per category (melee, pistols, shotguns, rifles, and so on). You can carry one of each into a level and build drastically different loadouts, balanced according to your preference and the stage you’re about to play.

Some new concepts are quite cool and continue the idea of using bizarre animals as tools. I loved the Eternal Fish (a kind of [i]fuller-auto[/i] submachine gun) and the Obelisk (a kind of sniper rifle that fires a piercing death ray). They all feel fantastic to shoot.

There is an obvious lack of power scaling in the game, both in weapons and abilities, but honestly, the balance that holds perfectly in NG+ makes up for it in my view. I’m already halfway through my second run, and I’m loving it.

And that’s it.

I think [i]Forgive Me Father 2[/i] is far from being considered a great game, but it certainly delivers much more than its predecessor in terms of quality action, presentation, and enjoyable levels. It’s a far more pleasant experience and one that actually did something for my money.

I would genuinely like to see a bit more creative ambition to do justice to the theme, but, well—better than nothing, I guess.

I likes this game less the longer I played it.

Mechanically its a standard boomer shooter. nothing wrong with it.
The art is excellent but limited. the emeny pool is very limited and despite the wide variety of locations and themes.

Two things stop this from being a recomend from me.
1) the lovecraft elements are set dressing. no sanity or magic mechanic. no real horror elements. You could strip the sprites out of this game and replace them with anything and it would play exactly the same.
2) In the later half of the game the designer leant too heavily on arenas. locked in a room while random monsters spawn in. its lazy. And one of the final level is nothing but that. making the end of the game more frustrating then anything.

Weird design choices ( why do you need to manually fill your flashlight bar to be able to use it ? Ammo drops lack visual distinction - you cannot tell what ammo you're picking up , color scheme makes it really hard to notice enemies since they blend with the environment too much ) and underwhelming shooting ( completely lacks impact and enemy spawns in arenas feel like they weren't tested enough ) let this visually attractive game down. There are far better shooters out there, this one is below par.

As with any sequel, FMF 2 falls very flat. I never understood why developers don't take the original concept and build or improve upon it...

The gunplay is noticeably worse; the guns feel and sound weaker compared to the first game.

You have access to the end-game weapon tiers early in the game, provided you found a few not-so-hidden upgrade points.

Level design is way worse than the first one; levels feel sloppy and uninteresting.

When you complete an action, a small video plays showing what you just did... have we gone so low in attention span that a video showing a door opening a few feet from you after pulling a lever is necessary?

Enemy design is worse than in the original, too.

Bosses are lacking; at the 6-hour mark, I fought my first boss, which didn't even feel like a boss.

The windable flashlight pisses me off; I miss the old lantern as a light source, which even amplified the ambiance.

Skill points and level-ups have been replaced with a card deck system. You may choose from active or passive abilities—only 3 cards, ONLY 3. In the original, you felt progression and were forced to make smart leveling choices.

You have only one ability instead of FMF's four abilities. Yes, you can customize this ability with the previously mentioned cards—ONLY IF you choose all active cards and no passive cards. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Finished the game, I enjoyed it way less than the first one.
FMF - I enjoyed it 90% of the time FMF2 i enjoyed it 35% of the time
Did the developers even play the first one? Same studio but clearly different crew of people working on it.
LET ME SAY, if a player asks multiple time in the game, Can this game just end already. You have failed as a developer.

本人玩的均衡模式，稍微谈谈吧。游戏开局几张图，由于只有手枪喷子这种，其实玩起来是有点牢的。但后期装备成型，你会发现体验其实依旧不佳，主要包含以下几点。
1 地图设计绕且杂越是到后面的地图越是如此，游戏中还要求收集钥匙开房，方向感不好的玩家很有可能迷路
2 画面本作画面偏暗沉，这一点其实能接受，但是能接受暗沉并不代表能接受完全的黑暗，这里点名批评地下室这张图，全程黑啊，只能靠手电筒这点微弱的光，四周空间也不大，当然喜欢恐怖因素的玩家可以一试
3 怪物设计及分布怪物种类十几种吧有一定区分度值得表扬但分布不太合理，有时一只怪也遇不到，有时来一大波，挺恶心的
4枪械手感一般
当然本作也是有部分优点的：美术风格相当不错，地图和枪械的美术可圈可点。枪械设计比较大胆，部分手感不错（加特林，小左轮）
综上，该游戏整体能提供大约8-9小时的游戏体验（我还剩三分之一），史低三十多可以考虑入，原价不推荐，喜欢暗黑手绘风格史低无脑入，喜欢枪械的也可入

What I like:
-The art style is flashier and more expressive than the last game, plus the new animations
-It feels pretty good to shoot enemies with certain guns.
-Platforming is a lot better than the last game, and there's more hidden areas that be reached.

What I have gripes about:
Compared to the first game, there's way less content in terms of weapon progression. There's no more skill tree, fewer weapons, less ammo. And on top of all that the game is badly optimized (for how minimalistic the graphics should be).

A bulleted list of other gripes:
-Not Enough ammo or health for how much damage you take.
-Random difficulty spikes
-Random frame drops when there's more than 10 enemies
-Tight spaces where you're supposed to "run and gun" but there's not enough ammo to do that, so you just end up strafing NON-STOP and trying to shoot a bunch of copy and paste enemies.
-The story doesn't make much sense.

So I just finished this one!
I am sorry daddy..
NO! I mean... Forgive me father 2! Yes that was the name of the game. Ye good ol boomer shooter. That is basically a recipe where you can never go wrong and yet... somehow... Forgive me Father 2 feels off... especially when you compare it to the previous game. It's hard to put a finger on it what's so off here but lets try anyway and decent into the madness.

First of like I said in the beginning it's a boomer shooter through and through. You got a gun, loads of dudes (or whatever these abyss creatures are) and heavy metal music in the background. However this is where it feels off already. Instead of giving you an entire arsenal to play with you have 6 gun types in total and can choose between 4 variations for each gun before starting a level. Gone are the times when you can choose the right tool for the right job and have to simply go for whatever feels good for you most of the time. This results in having a load out that works in all situations and almost disincentives experimentation. Basically you can have your entire loadout set after level 5 and never change it. Progression feels non-existent this way and enemies don't feel more threatening. To make it harder the game just throws more enemies at. You waste around 200 to 250 guys per 10 minute level and that does NOT feel good but it's a rather tedious endeavour.

Where the game shines is definitely the art styles and the music. Oh my god the music kicks so hard. I am a fan of the heavier kind of music and every track just roars like the guns you are firing. I think that was what kept me motivating going forward and finishing this game. Listening to more tracks!

A quick mention of the story: I wouldn't go as far and say it's a retelling of Forgive me Father 1 but it kinda is. You play as the priest again who lost his mind thanks to the events of the first game and now you have to sort of deal with the whole situations. The levels are different of course but it feels like you have seen it somewhere. Unfortunately the final boss was exactly the same which left a sour note. They tried going the good/bad ending route but it felt... odd in some way. A linear story would have been better in my opinion.

Overall it's unfortunately a downgrade from the previous which tried to recapture what made it good. I'd rate it a 5/10 with a VERY slight nudge towards recommended mostly because the music let's be real... Or is anyone real? Am I even typing? Is it as real as the undiscounted price? NO! Go for a 50% discount. I am NOT going insane! Don't let any.....

Forgive Me Father 2 – это работа над ошибками, достойный сиквел и просто хорошая игра.
Визуальный стиль остался прежним, но дизайн врагов и оружия претерпел изменения в лучшую сторону: освещение стало более приятным, а вырвиглазных 3D объектов не встречается. Атмосфера стала более тягучей и напряжённой. Порадовало и разнообразие мест, которые не ограничиваются городом и лабораториями, как в прошлой игре. Также удачным решением было добавить хаб-локацию.

Игровой процесс практически идентичен первой части, но в разы приятнее. Что получилось: стрельба, прокачка оружия, взаимодействие с локациями (ловушки, головоломки, нестандартные ситуации), «танцы с врагами». Единственный огрех – это прокачка тёмного фолианта, она скучная и непонятная.

Музыка стала более тяжёлой, качественной, но, как будто, менее самобытной (возможно, мне просто кажется). И тем не менее её приятно слушать. Могу отдельно выделить «Lullaby of Insanity» за великолепную атмосферу, которую она нагоняет и «The Lost Temple of Doom» - самый мощный и любимый мною трек во всей игре.

Сюжет ощущается вторичным, особенно сразу после прохождения первой части. За взаимоотношениями и разговорами Священника и «таинственного голоса» приятно наблюдать и слушать.

老实说，在游戏的后期我是真的很想打差评的，但是最后一关看到克总的时候还是选择了和解。
游戏的枪械手感，枪械设计在我看来无可挑剔。游戏的美术确实很有“克味”，在我看来这是游戏最大的优点。
我一向是不太喜欢为了开一扇红色的门要先去黄色的门找钥匙，但还得先去一扇蓝色的门找去黄色门的钥匙的设计，不过这个问题在游戏的前中期，通过优秀的关卡设计被巧妙地缓解了，实际游玩的过程中并不会觉得枯燥，反倒是很通顺。不过随着游戏进行到后期，关卡设计的水平呈现了断崖式的下滑，导致迷路的情况时有发生，也很难再看到什么地图设计上的小巧思。
而与地图设计水平下滑一起出现的就是越发严重的堆怪问题。不是说不能堆怪，这是提升游戏难度，考验玩家水平的一个手段，问题是在这个游戏里堆怪被滥用了，最后两章里经常出现四面八方都有攻击，根本没地方躲的情况。有时候还会出现怪物被地图上的建筑物或者植物挡住，又或者是环境和怪物因为颜色相似很难发现的问题。很多时候都要靠技能才能找到怪在哪里
不是说不能堆怪，但是堆怪的前提是玩家也有一定的反制手段。但是游戏里只有一个主动释放的技能，还不是每场战斗都能放的。在整个游戏过程中我的血条和护盾条几乎没有满过，很多时候我都是半残着去应对一波又一波的怪，这就又要说到游戏的另一个问题：资源给的太少了。血瓶护盾之类的给到少也就算了，关键是回的也不多，只能靠被动技能才能稍微缓解一下。同样的，子弹的补给也算不上慷慨，尤其是考虑到游戏的堆怪问题，必须常备至少两把的对群武器，但是这类武器往往子弹消耗的也快，子弹的补给又跟不上消耗的速度，这就导致面对潮水一般的怪物群很可能会失去反制手段。
虽然说了这么多的问题，不过如果有续作应该还是会支持一下。其实说到底还是思路上的问题，要做堆怪，你至少应该先让角色的能力能够匹配得上在去堆

Игра так боится показаться старомодной, что добавляет к рецепту бумер шутера столько всякой херни вроде прокачки оружия и абилок, лишь бы игрок не заскучал.
В итоге получается наоборот. Игрок скучает, потому что игра не добавляет того, что должно быть в хорошем бумер-шутере: запоминающихся врагов, интересное оружие и харизматичного главного героя.
По итогу у игры есть два достоинства : визуальный стиль и левел дизайн. Второе на троечку, но хотя бы видно, что старались.
Унылая, но очень красивая срань. Моды для GZDoom лучше

It's an increible game, guns all feel great, the smaller ammo capacity makes encounter intense, the levels can feel sprawling and maddening, visaully and auidbly it feel increbile to look and hear. Not a fan of the way the upgrade system was changed just having all varients availbe felt less impactful because i found varietns i like and just used them and never really changed it. The dark tome passives are all cool and good but most of the active ones feel not worth it becuase damage in this game i sigh and so if I didn't use life steal the whole game im sure my playtime would be a lot higher and i'd be giving a not reccomened, it also makes it so that you're builds feel a lot more limited.

Coming straight from the first game into this one gave me severe whiplash. Gameplay wise nothing from the first carried over into this and you end up feeling woefully underpowered after the first couple of levels. All of the "upgrades" to your weapons feel like outright downgrades, you get perks that have to be activated and they last maybe 5 seconds so you rarely benefit from perks like shotgunner or haste, the enemies shots feel like trying to dodge rain in a thunderstorm you never get a breather because the enemies take turns shooting. Honestly if the weapons and perks didn't feel so weak I'd slog through the game but everything does so much damage compared to you that I just feel frustrated with each death and at this point I have no desire to play anymore. My recommendation is that after playing through the first game just pass on this and play Cultic.

la primera entrega es un juegazo, pero con unos pocos problemas.

este, por otro lado, es una basura
los unicos dos puntos que le dare, es el arte de diseño y el sonido.
el resto, el diseño de niveles, el diseño de los enemigos, el diseño de las armas y el diseño del combate en general es una basura.
el juego solamente te permite usar 3 mejoras que son las cartas y nada mas.
de todas las armas que te ofrece el juego, solamente 6 puedes utilizar, una por cada tipo de municion, asi limitando las necesidades y imaginacion del jugador.
y por ultimo el maximo problema del juego, son las arenas de combate, son casi imposibles.
¿porque?.
son muchos enemigos de lo que el jugador puede soportar.
la municion se termina muy rapido.
algunos enemigos se mueven mucho y otros tienen mucha invulnerabilidad.
los projectiles son muy rapidos para que el jugador pueda esquivarlos adecuadamente.
y todo lo que he mencionado arriva se pone PEOR con los dos principales problemas del juego.
que son:

1° ahora las armas se recargan a comparacion con la primera entrega cortando tu flujo en el combate.

2° la barra de demencia que es la que se utiliza para usar el tomo para hacer habilidades se
LLENA MUY LENTO.

todo esto provoca una sensacion de dificultad barata y artificial donde el jugador se siente absolutamente limitado y forzado a estar en la cuerdas.

ahora eso es el combate, en cuanto a la historia.
la historia es mediocre, el juegador( a menos a mi ) tendra una fuerte sensacion de no entender que esta ocurriendo y al mismo no querer entenderlo.
la primera entrega era una historia digna de lovecraft, que es el protagonista trantando entender que fue lo que ocurrio en la ciudad y de los males que se ocultan, aqui en la segunda entrega se siente una historia ramdon sobre todo cuando los mapas son distintos entre si. o sea no hay continuidad o consistencia en la trama, solamente unos dialogos trantdando de aparentar profundidad o filosofia.

si tengo que darle un puntaje a este juego.
ese es un 5/10
puede que algunos les gustase esta entrega, pero para personas que jugaron a la primera entrega como a mi y querian seguir disfrutandolo, les digo que no la encontraran aqui.

Almost everything is worse than in the first game.
Specially annoying the enemies attacks, placement and damage they dealt even in Normal.

Art is even more astounding and the game is still enjoyable anyways.

I found the original Forgive Me Father through a sale in years past, and never really played it.
Then I re-discovered FMF when restoring an old machine. A few hours in, I was hooked by the fast play, fun puzzles, 80s vibe, and cool music and atmosphere. Come to find out FMF2 had been released, and it's somehow better than the original! Better graphics, better gameplay, and bigger problems to solve.
If you can remember the thrill of hunting demons or nazis on a 2d action scroller in the 90s, this game was built for you. But now with cultists! La La Phtagn!

Even only 2 hours in this is the easiest recommendation in my life. The art style in this game is immaculate and makes it stand apart from all the other boomer shooters on the market. The gunplay and movement feel good but there is something so special about the design. The cardboard cutout 2D models melded with beautiful shell shaded animations just has this game dripping with the sauce. FMF 1 & 2 are gems that I am very happy I stumbled across. The voice acting and environments are also standouts.

Much like it's prequel, this game is pretty flipping sweet, running around, shooting failed sushi experiments in the face is so damn satisfying, the main characters struggle with the previous games actions and his ongoing internal struggle is very nice, very Chuthulu mythos style.

It's a bit more chalenging however, enemies hit harder then they should and you don't have that much health and armour, I ran the same loudout through most of the game which was the no need for reloading, health syphon and I think the "You take less damage" perk as well so, even on Normal difficulty I struggled on some levels but then again, I'm not a good gamer so it might be my fault.

Otherwise, the gun design and verity is pretty cool, personally a huge fan of the eternal fish, it's perfect for "Frick you and everything in that perticular direction" kinda vibe, the level design is also pretty damn amazing, early on it does hit the early/late 1940's kinda vibe with corruption included, I remember getting lost in one of the levels and actually enjoying just running around for a bit.

Same voice actor used but he got a lil bit better, the internal dialog with himself (Or was it himself? I dunno) was very fitting for the Mythos, honestly really did hit the vibe of a priest who witnessed the horrors of war, finding relgion to calm his mind, only to be the vessel of insanity of the old one really hard. 10/ out of failed sashimi, would love more of this one day ♥♥♥

Context: I haven't played the first game and snagged this in some boomer shooter bundle.

I'm giving this a thumbs down because boomer shooters are a dime a dozen, and this one isn't very fun. I beat the first several levels, took a break, and had no desire to pick it back up.

I do appreciate innovations like the popup video that shows you the particular door that unlocks after you pick up a key.

The game's style is distinctive but honestly it gets annoying when trying to play the actual game for any length of time. Some of the arenas are fun and feel like mini-puzzles: they typically spike in difficulty and you have to carefully manage ammo and positioning.

The story and VA are so-so, as are the weapons and skill/perk system.

I want to compare this directly to the first game and say that the sequel doesn’t reach the same level.

The game is still fun and has improved in some areas, but overall it feels less polished and not as smooth as the first one.

Pros-

More interesting map design

Cooler weapons

Better graphics

Cons-

Soundtrack is weaker

Story feels unimportant

Levels feel random (which kind of fits the story, but also makes the game feel less smooth overall)

On Normal difficulty, it feels harder than the first game on Hard

I didn’t like the movement as much (it feels a bit slower)

Slightly shorter playtime

The first game was almost perfect for me. I feel like the developers wanted to quickly build on its success, maybe at the cost of its own identity.

Of course, it’s still basically more “Forgive Me Father,” and it’s fun for short gaming sessions — but I liked it less than the first one.

Still, thumbs up, because it clearly stands out in today’s gaming market.

Cannot recommend, this is worse than the original in basically every single way possible besides gun animations. Inferior enemy placement, no skill tree, inferior level design, inferior weapon choices and worse weapon variety, less build variety. Btw, hardest difficulty is basically no hit run.

The original Forgive me father is one of my favorite boomer shooters, its maps are intuitive, the gameplay is fast and exciting with minimal slowdowns, and it has a cohesive story. Forgive me father 2 has none of these things. Each stage in forgive me father two is a glorified maze filled with so many collectables that instead of being a fun and rewarding its just tedious. They removed the original skill tree which was progressed by killing enemies and instead replaced it with that's right, more collectables. Its just very immersion breaking to have to run around the map looking for clocks just to find out before the finish line you cant go back and get one you missed.
