Solides FPS das etwas übersicht in den Kämpfen verliert. Interessant mit den Skill-Bäumen zu experimentieren. Leider funktionieren die meisten Skills nicht auf Bosse. Die Journalistin kann sich z.B. nicht in Bosskämpfen heilen. Entsprechend muss man mit dem Offensiveren der beiden Charaktere signifikant Defensiver vorgehen. Priester ist deutlich einfacher zu spielen, allerdings sind seine Fähigkeiten nicht so nützlich im direkten Kampf, dafür machen sie den Priester aber sehr überlebensfähig. Die verschiedenen Waffen und Upgradepfade sind auch spaßig. Wünschte mir etwas mehr Animationen, da ich den Artstyle sehr mag und etwas umfangreicheres Leveldesign. Erhoffe mir viel von nachfolgespielen vom Entwickler. 7/10 Sternen

This is an essential boomer shooter with a neat weapons and abilities upgrade system thrown in. It started a little slow. The levels were a bit simplistic and overall it wasn't very challenging, but at some point, early in the game things started to get more interesting and, oh boy, am I glad I sticked with it up to that moment. The game is very good overall. The visual style is the first thing that catches the eye, but also enemy and weapon variety, upgrade system and the fact, that you can play as two different characters with some different weapons all make it great. Level design towards the seconds half becomes quite intricate and the game even has a cool story imo, which is not a given in this gerne. I wholeheartedly recommend this game and I'm excited to start the sequel right away, just as I finished the first one!

This game FMF just 🤜 me right in my nostalgic feels and all while scratching that cosmic horror itch too. I’m late ‘80baby so I grew up in with the OG boomer shooter either watching or playing. Now as an adult I been missing the days of B.S. and the indie game scene as been going hard with boomer shooters and I’m here for it. #clutch I bought both and even grab a copy for my Xbox. Been having a blast 💥 playing hopefully they make FMF3 sick my 💻 needs to be fixed can’t play FMF2.

Not much that I can chime in honestly because most people review has a good and bad description about the game. 😂 seeing as I bought the FMF twice and FMF2 should tell you.

Only negative opinion I have is that the journalist could have been integrated better in the story instead of added on for a different play style it’s like she not even apart of the story.

Forgive Me Father is a fun addition to the boomer shooter genre. Two different characters to choose from, each with their own special abilities. 5 different worlds, each capped off with a boss. Took me around 9 hours to clear the game with the priest. His abilities are useful ranging from infinite ammo, to being able to go into god mode.

Slight rpg elements in the sense that you have different skills to upgrade, in addition to using skill points to upgrade weapons. Every weapon except the final gets 2 different upgrade paths. Only disappointment is that certain weapons upgrade paths seem more useful than others.

Weapons are all fun to shoot and feel punchy enough when used. My favorite was the plasma/energy rifle. The rocket launcher/explosive weapon did feel a little disappointing.

Onto the negatives. Every boss except the first and last have a stupid gimmick. I hate gimmick bosses, but I do appreciate having players do something other than shoot at the boss until it dies. Another negative is the final world has you do some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ platforming at the very end of the game. Unfair to put it at the tail end when you aren't expecting it. My last gripe is the game decides to introduce 4 specific enemies that are designed to make you angry. 2 are enemies that move erratically and shoot fast high damage projectiles. The other two are both flying enemies, and the one that is the worst in the game is the one that decides to turn its dying body into a cruise missile and explode right on top of you.

Point in this games favor is that headshots matter and do bonus damage. Some enemies are a pain to fight if you decide to neglect the weak point. And almost every enemy is able to be headshot.

Decent game with some infuriating parts at the very end. I enjoyed my time and look forward to playing Forgive Me Father 2 in the future.

Bastante difícil recomendarlo, pero tampoco es un "mal juego"...

Esperaba algo diferente, la idea que transmiten las imagenes, videos e incluso reseñas son las de un "Doom + Lovecraft", y si de alguna manera, pero no termina de ejecutarlo bien. Tal vez solo no soy el tipo de público. Mi mejor comparación sería con Doom T.N.T., es bastante tedioso, cae en un "prueba y error" constante que crea una sensación de dificultad "artificial". Encuentros "injustos" para una primer partida que se vuelven bastante banales al repetirlos.

El "arte" es bastante bueno, hasta que se introducen gran cantidad de enemigos y escenarios, entonces se vuelve contraproducente, enemigos poco "distinguibles" entre sí, escenarios confusos que supongo intentan camuflar a los enemigos (algo que consigue de forma bastante tediosa).
La introducción a la mitad del juego de un plataformeo bastante innecesario que se va volviendo constante conforme se avanza.

A pesar de avanzar en la obtención de habilidades y armas, en ningún momento se termina de sentir un "Buffeo" de nuestro personaje.

No creo que sea un mal juego, solo esperaba "demasiado".

This game is really fun. For me its a 8/10, its 100% better than the second, more simple and more fun, I think the upgrade system is better in this as well, it actually feels like you get stronger, compared to just be given everything, I feel you can play this game through with combos of weapon skills, and it still be fun, more fun compared to the second.

Eu terminei esse jogo como a jornalista e tive uma experiência mista. O estilo de arte dele é bonito: desde os monstros até as armas, tudo é visualmente bonito e bem trabalhado. A gameplay é o que você espera de um boomer shooter: é rápida, caótica e divertida, mas, da metade do jogo em diante, ele fica repetitivo e cansativo. A temática é legal, mas não é suficiente para sustentar o jogo para mim. Há uma boa variedade de inimigos, e as armas contam com upgrades legais. Para mim, porém, o jogo se estendeu mais do que deveria, o que acabou prejudicando a experiência.

пятикратно переваренный кал азатота из ярких палитр и абсолютно пустых внутренностей

1. стрельба ощущается будто стреляешь по воде, нет никакого импакта все пушки одинаково унылы
2. общая стилистика банальна "аля давайте объединим все стереотипы об творчестве лавкрафта но в вырвиглазных фильтрах"
3. сюжет/лор? а не пoxyй ли шо там расписано в этих записках? я люблю данный прием но так искусственно пытаться в глубину или лишнюю загадочность не одобряю
4. сырость окружения, если пошурудить по многим картам то стопроцентно увидите голые текстуры или незаконченные детали (возможно конешно сами мапперы тупа мискликали при работе и забивали удалить лишнее)
5. зачем то сюда решили добавить прокачку.. ну впринципи пойдет но лично мне ее присутствие в бумер-шутере непонятно

в общем то меня ихра задушила картами и их дизайном, очень скучно спустя несколько часов пробираться через одинаковые серые коридоры в поисках очередной связки ключей и такой се раскидкой врагов, за те же деньхи можно и поинтереснее проекты пройти пожалуй

В общем-то это неплохой представитель "шутеров под 90-е", но есть ряд минусов.
Во-первых, игра успевает надоесть чуть раньше, чем она заканчивается (примерно на один час). Уровни становятся слишком запутанными, атмосфера и динамика теряются.
Игра уже не предлагает ничего нового, а начинает довольно неумело жонглировать ранее увиденным. Тоска и скука, нужно было сокращать продолжительность.
Во-вторых, выбранный жанр и художественный стиль буквально кричат о том, что игра должна быть на движке GZDoom, но она на UE4. На мой взгляд, это как если бы 45-летняя тётя сделала косички, надела платьице с фартуком и взяла леденец, дабы выглядеть как школьница. Вроде и атрибуты соответствующие имеются, но выглядит очень неправдоподобно. Ну это уже, конечно, чисто дело вкуса.
В третьих, раз уж это "шутер под 90-е", где мои быстрые сохранения? Ты в пылу сражения падаешь в какую-нибудь яму и всё заново от чекпоинта, а они тут нечастые.

В общем, пану Пшездецкому (глава разработки) есть над чем поработать, но в целом недурно. Но и далеко не шедевр.

Consigliatissimo a tutti gli amanti degli FPS classici e ancor più agli appassionati della mitologia orrorifica lovecraftiana. Tonnellate di armi e incantesimi vari saranno le basi su cui costruire la carneficina di orrende creature che incontreremo nel nostro folle viaggio verso orrori innominabili nei panni (a scelta) di un prete o di una giornalista. Enigmi ambientali, fasi platform e boss di ogni tipo saranno gli ostacoli che si metteranno fra noi e la scoperta della follia. Il gioco è abbastanza impegnativo e in alcuni casi ha picchi di difficoltà abbastanza ripidi, ma merita assolutamente il vostro tempo.

Tenemos un juego tipo Doom que intenta recrear el tipo de gráficos pseudo 3D en los personajes, aunque el resto el escenario sea en 3D. El tipo de dibujo que usa es tipo cómic, pero en malo. Sinceramente no me ha gustado mucho la parte gráfica / diseño artístico.

Entiendo tirar de la nostalgia para esto, pero hoy en día no termino de entender en qué beneficia en un juego utilizar técnicas fuera de época. Supongo que a otros les gustará mucho. No es mi caso.
Lo que me ha fastidiado y por lo que no sé si lo voy a terminar son las dos dificultades artificiales que tiene el juego:

- No tener una tecla de salvado rápido. Esto es un problema porque las partes finales son complicadas, fácil que te mueras por un salto mal ejecutado, te caigas al vacío o te maten los enemigos, y tienes que hacerlo muy bien para pasarlo hasta que llegas al siguiente punto de guardado. Y me termina aburriendo cuando tengo que repetir varias veces lo mismo porque a los programadores les ha parecido una idea estupenda no tener un salvado rápido. ¿No es el juego un poco homenaje a juegos tipo Doom? pues Doom tenia salvado rápido.

- Usar la oscuridad del juego para no ver los enemigos correctamente o no verlos sin más. Esto es otra cosa aburrida y frustrante porque es uno de los motivos artificiales que aumenta la dificultad y que por tanto te van a matar más, ya que o usas la linterna para iluminar o usas el arma, las dos cosas no puedes. Aparte hay zonas muy amplias que la linterna no sirve para nada.

Tampoco le he pillado la gracia a los "poderes" del personaje. Sí, vale, ayudan algo, pero no marcan la diferencia y mientras hace el juego la animación para ejecutar la "magia", que tarda un segundo o dos, te siguen dando los enemigos, por lo que al final no lo he usado mucho.

Las armas como que ni fu ni fa. No me han llamado mucho la atención en cuanto a diseño y uso.
Una parte que sí me ha gustado es que no haya que estar recargando el puñetero arma.
El árbol de habilidades pues como el resto, ni fu ni fa.

Todavía no lo he terminado. Poco me faltará. No sé si seguiré a ver si lo termino o paso, y me fastidia porque me gusta terminar los juegos, no suelo dejarlos a mitad o cuando me queda poco como es el caso, pero me estoy aburriendo desde hace unos cuantos niveles y no tengo ganas de seguir.

Sin ser un mal juego, no puedo recomendarlo.

Очень хорошая стрелялка на самом деле! Отличный выбор функционального оружия, древо прокачки типа как в Darkness 2, различные скилы у персонажей, довольно большой бестиарий классных противников и эффектных боссов. Всё это приправлено Лавкрафтианскими мотивами, с приятным импактом от стрельбы, очень крутой стилистикой и качающим музлом.
Рекомендую, потому что нам всем иногда нужен хороший шутанчик)

Самая ужасная игра

Минусы:
1. Не интересные враги, они банально ничем друг от друга не отличаются.
2. Скучные боссы, они просто стоят на месте и изредка атакуют и используют болваничиков.
3. Авторы пытались добавить сюжет, но у них это вышло ужасно. Когда вы покупаете шутер вы хотите экшена и драйва, а не читать километровые записки, которых на уровне может быть очень много. Да и сюжета не особо много.
4. Построение уровня. Иногда встречаются такие уровни, что приходится минут 10 ходить и не понимать куда нужно идти.
5. Геймплей. Первый час он радует, а потом он становится однообразный, но есть и хуже вещь, это душные уровни(под водой в 3 акте например), где тебе дают самое ужасное оружие у которого очень долгая перезарядка.
6. Цена. 710 рублей за обычный бумер шутер, в котором ничего особенного нет, это уже перебор.
7. Оружие. Конечно отдача более менее сделана, но не ощущается вообще прокачка его, оно по ощущениям ничем не отличается от первого уровня оружия.
8. Акты, они длятся по пару часов, но при этом на игру всего 4 босса, то есть на акт который длится 1-2 часа лишь один босс, что делает игру скучнее. Новые виды врагов это лишь обычный перекрас. который немного изменяет атаку и то не всегда.

Единственный плюс игры так это стилистика и графика, и все.
Я пытался пройти ее через силу, но не смог и удалил игру на финале 3 акта, потому что еще 1-3 часа очередного скучного геймплея я не выдержал бы. Не советую тратить около 10 часов на эту игру, лучше поищите другую игру в таком жанре.

Разрабы не знают слово «оптимизация». Начало игры было всё идеально, но когда прошел 1 мир и начал проходить 2, это ужас, лаги, лаги и еще раз лаги. Я извиняюсь, но как игра с такой простой графикой может жрать всю оперативу и память видюхи даже на минималках? Я играл в Ведьмака 3, 5 МГС, Киберпанк, 2 Дайнг Лайт и еще много игр с крутым графоном, но даже они никогда не жрали все ресурсы ПК и работали хорошо без статтеров. А сама игра то хорошая, играется нормально и стиль Лавкрафта люблю, только из-за этого игру и купил, жаль, не могу вернуть деньги, играть в шутер с такими фризами невозможно.

Not the best boomer shooter out there, but def a fun time for fans of the genre mixed with some Lovecraftian vibes

I think this game is perfectly serviceable for what it's trying to be. There's not much criteria for making a good game in this style, especially when you have a unique art style to pair with it that separates it from the rest. What does take more effort is making a "great" game in this genre. The game constantly comes close, but ultimately never delivers.

The weapon variety here is good and the upgrades keep the game interesting, while keeping the momentum with each next chapter. The art style is the biggest highlight this game has to offer and it kinda rests solely on that to keep it engaging. The action is great here as well, but it really clashes in many cases with the art style. When you're flooded with enemies it goes from being awesome to being annoying because there's just so much animation flooded on the screen with all the blood effects, bullets, and everything else going on. There's times where it's hard to even tell if you killed an enemy or not, let alone even comprehend what's in front of you.

That's a big gripe with the game, but one that's even worse is the damn platforming. It's done so terribly in this game that the only positive to say about it, is that it's not too overdone in the game, but it should have either been executed better or just omitted from the game. B-rate NES games have better response to platforming than this does.

While the majority of the game is easy to be positive on, there's very big negatives that take the game down by a lot. Lastly, the boss battles in this are really good and the abilities to each character you can play as are a nice/unique addition.

There’s a lot I want to say, but I’ll keep it brief: the level designs are lacklustre, the storytelling isn’t engaging, the ending is incredibly predictable, the weapon designs are brilliant but the sound effects aren’t great.

I’m a fan of Boomer Shooter, but I’d have expected a better game with a Lovecraft theme. I honestly had to force myself to finish the last two chapters.

Let’s move on to the second one then...

Decent boomer shooter with some good enemy design from the lovecraftian/cosmic horror genre. Music was great and added a lot to the game. Wish the gunplay felt better/more responsive and abilities were more unique and interesting. Skill tree was solid and added enough to make progression less of an issue in my 6 hours of playtime. Would recommend on sale.

FMF é um jogo extremamente divertido, pra quem gosta de jogos no estilo Boomer shooters essa é uma escolha boa, ele tem uma arvore de habilidades interessante que pode mudar seu estilo de jogo, fora que o jogo em si é bem diverso e desafiador no geral.

A arte do jogo é muito boa, por mais que simples ao olhar é isso que faz ela ser boa, ela segue fiel ao tema de lovecraft e definitivamente da uma boa ambientação.

Em geral o jogo é uma boa escolha pra quem gosta de Boomer shooters podendo render uma boa diversão(estresse talvez por demorar 1 hora em apenas 1 nivel) então sim, recomendo muito o jogo mas definitivamente é bom esperar uma promoção pra ele.

Sinceramente esse jogo me estressou, mas é um bom jogo.

Ele traz artes visuais e uma música incrível até adicionaria na minha playlist se tivesse no spotify, a temática love craft deixa a ambientação boa e que ambientação, os cenários parecem ter saído direto de um livro de terror.

Infelizmente a partir da metade do jogo para o final o mesmo começou a se tornar insuportável de jogar, colocando inimigos chatos que sempre te acertam e um boss peixe que se você não prever o futuro vai ter matar na sua primeira vez, cara como você faz um boss que muda de área e não deixa explicito que ele está trocando de área, fazendo que você perca a janela de movimentação e fique preso e morra.

Tirando a parte detalhada em cima o jogo tem uma gameplay razoável e divertida com armas bem diferente, a arvore de habilidade podia ter sido bem mais trabalhada o que deixaria mais divertido, por exemplo colocando variações dos poderes assim como as armas.

Ощущается как проект на котором тренились делать олдскульные шутеры и поймите меня правильно, продемонстрированы вполне не плохие результаты, но это не то что следовало бы выкатывать в маркет.

Во всех уровнях торчат уши прототипного лейаута, где мы ходим по кишке из неотёсанных прямоугольных структур и авторы просто поленились подменить всё это на хоть какое-то визуально интересное наполнение.
Те кто хвалит артовую часть игры, вам едкий контраст света и цвета сечатку выжгли? Вы видите лишь персонажей которых нарисовали на компетентном уровне? Это всё не комбинится в композицию, а выглядит скверно, словно кто-то в команде сделал работу существенно лучше остальных.
Собственно возвращаясь к "учебному" проекту...
Размещение врагов за каждым поворотом на 90°...
Поначалу, это вызывало ухмылку мол [i]"Вы серьёзно?"[/i]
А потом откровенное недоумение после практически [b]каждого[/b] на уровне поворота с врагом...
Авторы хоть чуточку б**ть пытались... я не знаю, не то что даже креативить... ну просто хоть разбить этот паттерн?! Это [b]не весело[/b] них**.
Не говоря уже о том что разрабы запирают игрока в [b]скоростном[/b] шутере в помещениях 5x5...
Я не знаю в чём тут фан "пинболиться" как ужаленный на таком пятачке. Они наверное doomают "хардкор"... нет б***ь, от ваших врагов уворачиваться как нехрен делать, просто это опять же
не увлекательно ни черта.
А что со стрельбой то? Почему она такая дубовая?
Что это за отдача на автомате со вскидкой прицела по Y на -10 юнитов ??!!!
Никакого покачивания, никакого рандомного отступа... Вы сами пробовали стрелять из этого?

Ой всё 😁 Излишне много внимания этому проекту, к тому же у них же есть вторая часть, в которой [b]возможно[/b] все эти недочёты исправлены, но я этого уже не узнаю, потому что отбили интерес выкатывая в таком состоянии первую часть.

Enjoyed the artstyle and weapons and for many that may be enough. I found myself a little lost as to what I was doing storywise and understanding the types of monsters i was facing, which i think many would say to that "Bruh big guns go brrrr at the monster what more direction do you need? Read the books if you care so much". So do I recommend? sure - guns go Brrr & baddies explode. Want deep lore on HPLove Craft, that's what the books are for.

платить фуллпрайс за такую игру — чистое вымогательство, подобное сделает любой чел, посмотревший пару гайдов в анрил енжин: корявые 3д модели — ладно бы только они одни, так еще и псевдо 3д с вращающимися пнгшками (дум 93-го года передает привет). нет претензий к дешевизне продукта, только к качеству выпущенного. были бы идея, единый визуальный образ (хотя бы желание), а не тупое копирование уже давно существующего (уже не говоря об устаревшем), скомканное в черновых эскизах и выпущенное по шаблону, может и имело право на жизнь, а так — нет.

An good retro FPS with a heavy Lovecraftian influence (obviously). While not revolutionary, the gunplay is competent, the enemies varied, and the two playable characters with different abilities and skill trees add enough variation to make the game enjoyable throughout multiple playthroughs.

Not quite my favorite indie cosmic horror-themed shooter (my vote would go to Cultic), but still a more than decent effort that will please players longing for a marginally different take on the Doom formula.

buen shooter, me recuerda a casa. Ta muy bueno la vdd es sencillito pero para un par de horas que es lo que dura es suficiente, algunos niveles si son medio nefastos por lo innecesariamente enredosos que son y repiten mucho la mecánica de estar abriendo puertitas, aún asi logré disfrutarlo y para 50 pesitos que pagué por el bastante bién.

I love this game, but I'm unable to play anymore due to some error never loading the game. This is unacceptable and it's straight ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that I can't get a refund at this point.

One day the game plays perfectly fine, the next it does not and I didn't do anything on my PC except play this game.

Such a disappointment and this is the reason I'll not be buying the sequel, trust issues and all that...

... К чему это я? Ах, да. Попался мне на скидках этот ваш Forgive Me Father. Если бы я пытался его описать коротко, то я бы сказал, что это как Project Warlock, но только делающий все правильно. Яркое, стильное, бодрое мочилово в очень крутой эстетике.

Но здесь я сделаю небольшую ремарку (на пару минут, не до Рюрика, честно): я могу, в целом, понять, почему в Стиме нет нейтральных отзывов и целиком это поддерживаю, однако бывают ситуации, когда я солидарен с необходимостью их существования, и это тот самый случай. Из-за чего? Ох...

Ну, это все еще лучше, чем Project Warlock. Но хуже почти любого другого известного в этом направлении тайтла. А по итогу FMF - даже не знаю. Никакой?..

Главная продающая фишка игры - это броский визуальный стиль. В сочетании с бодрой стрельбой и тяжелым саундтреком (в котором, к моему удивлению, под конец начинают проскакивать абсолютно неожиданные около-блэковые гитарные тремоло) эта игра в моменте приносит огромный кайф. Из пушек прикольно стрелять, спрайтовые враги красиво разваливаются, опыт для раскачки капает и дает доступ к более вкусным фишкам, магия (в отличии от PW, кстати) хотя бы работает и имеет определенную полезность, но...

FMF тщательно пытается выглядеть как бумер-шутер, но едва ли выдерживает критики субстанционально. Забегая наперед - я НЕ принижаю результат работы небольшой команды, которая создала этот проект - как минимум, потому, что визуально и аудиально тут все очень и очень почтенно. Вот только ядро такого жанра, как старорежимный шутер, как мне кажется, не только в броском визуале, но и в изобретательном дизайне уровней, оружия, боевых столкновений, а также в умении грамотно управлять игровым темпом и, как следствие, опытом конечного пользователя, давая обдуманным образом не только сражения, но и передышки или другие активности. И вот с этим в игре швах; в наиболее отчаянные моменты кажется, что разработчики не то что мало понимали суть жанра - в лучшем случае видели его лишь на скриншотах.

FMF прекрасна и увлекательна точечно, в моменте запуска и пока вы весело жмакаете ЛКМ минут 15. Но на протяжении пяти длинных глав это просто утомительно и однообразно. За великолепным визуалом уровней сквозит отсутствие оригинальности. Нет, я не сделаю лучше, я это отлично понимаю; но проблема в том, что я сходу назову несколько игр примерно за ту же цену, где ядро олдового боевика от первого лица ощущается ярко и насыщенно, как стакан пенного в конце жаркого летнего дня.

И даже режим НГ+, который позволяет вам, по сути, настроить игру по-своему, вряд ли развеселит вас надолго. Уровни предсказуемы, столкновения скорее раздражают после пары часов, игра сама по себе затянута... Здесь даже абсолютно базовый oldschool-shooter-starter-pack арсенал без функциональной изюминки от слова "вообще".

Хотя вру. FMF представляет игрокам революцию в инженерной бесполезности... *барабанная дробь*... [b]трехствольную двухстволку[/b]! Да, прочтите это словосочетание [i]внимательно[/i]. Нет, я [i]не[/i] поехал кукухой. В игре действительно есть трехствольный дробовик, который стреляет ДВУМЯ патронами. Но самое смешное здесь в том, что в этом нет смысла вообще, ведь нет дробовика, который бы стрелял ОДНИМ патроном. То есть зачем вообще отсчитывать после выстрела по два, если у вас все варианты этого оружие отстреливают их так же по два?... Причем вишенка на торте абсурда - этот класс оружия максимально мощный и кайфовый в использовании. Ладно, здесь видно, что понимание определенных моментов у разработчиков все же было...

Но лично мне этого не хватило, чтобы порекомендовать поиграть в это больше двух часов. Потому что будь у игры демо в лице первой главы - вы бы при покупке полной версии не увидели бы буквально ничего нового. И лично я немного разочарован, насколько даже небольшая по размеру сюжетка кажется затянутой из-за однообразия. Будь в уровнях чуть больше выдумки, чуть более интересные и полезные секреты, чуть больше акцента на исследование локи в перерывах между боями - я бы однозначно это бы порекомендовал.

Но мы находимся вот тут и сейчас, и впечатлениями своими я поделился. Я бы отчаянно хотел это рекомендовать хотя бы как таймкиллер после работы, но даже если я здравым умом пониманию озвученные выше нюансы, у меня нет гарантии, что это не заметят куда более въедливые игроки.

Отличный бумер шутер по Лавкрафту. Уровни разнообразные, сюжет минимальный, хотя по запискам и намекам можно собрать более цельную картину, но он есть и весьма неплох. Но главное это атмосфера безумия, скорее мистического, чем ужасного, игра как хоррор не особо страшная.

The lovecraftian theme would be great IF it didn't have a bunch of puzzle elements and mazes with zero maps or indications of what the hell is even needed.the first few levels are easy enough but it soon becomes a drag of "Find keys, solve puzzles, and then maybe we will let you have a small gorefest"

I want to run and gun, NOT stop and do a freaking puzzle every 10 frelling minutes! Puzzle games and FPS like this do not mix terrible well. keys? Fine. Doom had you find keys too. Having to try and figure out where the frell I am and where I am supposed to go next-especially on the sewer level in world 3? No thank you. Just let me shoot the ♥♥♥♥ out of everything that moves. Is that too much to ask? Apparently so.

Jogo muito bom! A arte é magnífica alem do estilo lovecraftiano e as armas também são bem legais. A única coisa que me decepcionou um pouco foi o chefe final, que achei relativamente fácil.
O level design das fases é bom, cada uma tem sua própria particularidade.
A platina é divertida e não exige muito esforço.

Un Doom-like ! Voila comment resumer ce Forgive me Father !
Maintenant qu'on s'est dit clairement les choses , il faut savoir qu'ils ont repris sans hésiter tout les codes des vieux Doom mais vraiment tous ! La seule difference c'est le coté scénario ou on passe de l'Enfer à la manipulation de Cthulhu, ce Dieu sombre et malaisant.

Et pourtant copie ou pas copie, le jeu est tellement bon que la question ne se pose pas ! Les graphismes, le design, le bestiaires tout est vraiment reussi sans oublier le fondamentale : ce gameplay qui remonte à 30 ans en arriere. Violent, gore, rapide ou l'immobilité est synonyme de mort rapide !

Quelle défouloir avec ces armes badass et ce petit arbre des talents bienvenue !

This game has just the ''little something'' I was looking for.
I am a fan of HP Lovecraftian horror and the look of Darkest dungeon. This immediatly grabbed my attemtion. I was scared that it would be bland but it turns out to be really interesting!

I am amazed at the variety of different ennemy designs. Not only are there a they have different mechanics, but also a few design variations as well. some anemies can be weakened, others can split in to if not headshoted. Some zombies caries head and replaces their head with new ones when headshoted! I mean, this is really neat and creative stuff! Color me impressed overall with the variety. A lot of games fall short in that regard, and Forgive me Father really goes out of it's way to offer quality content, The levels are also pretty varied and each of them offer a different vibe and location with new assets. I like how much actual original content the games give you instead of repeating assets! I have not yet tried both characters, but I played the priest, which is supposed to be slower and more defensive. I cant imagine the journalist because the game and movements are really fast pace!

I wish the game was slighlty more story oriented, and had more non-action, puzzle or simply quieter moments, but for a shooter, this is not something I should expect. The arsenal is quitre fun, and I like that weapon levels branch out, using sometimes different ammunitions and new ways to used it. It also visually change.

There are a few downsides though. the gunplay do not give great feedback and somehow lack impact.
The amount of blood and effect sometime makes it hard to actually se where you are shooting.
I dont mind that much the cardboard like elements because it feels nostalgic to me, but it does sometime feels out of place.
I also had problem booting the game at first. When I tried to play the game, it would give me a black screen and crash. after updating my GPU drivers and restarting, it fixed the issue.

Overall, I am really impressed of the quality of the game. The variety of enemy types, guns and level keep the game fresh. I am curious to see if the 2nd game will bring!

PS: I have HUGE catacomb abyss games vibe. a priest shooter game, with underwater ennemies and zombies in cemetary and crypts? I wonder if it was an inspiration for the devs! Anyhow, this game really scratch that itch and give me real warm good nostalgic feelings!

I'm not really sure how to feel about Forgive Me Father. But there has been nothing to compel me to finish the final chapter.

Forgive Me Father by all means is servicable and I'm hoping when I play the second game (in time) that it'll improve upon this ones shortcomings. To start, I think this plays okay, the Guns are punchy and the impact to enemies (usually) has good feedback to present the punchiness and damage inflicted. Honestly even the bosses which in similar games are frequently after-thoughted, had a decent level of depth to them. Its primary gameplay loop is well done! I feel as though the skill-tree was nice but a little constricting, especially given that boomer shooters thrive on giving you tools, not replacing tools, and least the replacements were gripping but my old tools? I'd like them too. But my issues primarily lie with the story, and level design philosophy.

A lot of people complain about the voice acting, I only heard the journalist and I'll confirm for you she is one cheesy kooky character, one that I was able to appreciate as I've written a similarly cheesy character, perhaps I'm just tolerant of it? But I know people that audiably cringe at it and I'm certain many more would to. This character however is not much supported by the storyline this game tries to tell, which unfortunately does the same thing many boomer shooters fail on, which is story telling through a glossary of vague notes that are more world building such as "The local Wendys chain that had a suspicious shipment of Cthulhu gunk sourced from the coast of Sydney, by John Eaton - Sailor and Eldritch kangaroo wrestler". Granted some levels attempt to do environmental story telling, but my mind has a 3 hour gap of unaccounted for levels I don't remember anything remotely interesting or rich with story intrigue. But the levels have another problem - they're very linear. Many levels will run you down a very linear pathway of hallways to get to an arena room with the key lodged in the corner, there is very little authentic exploration going on minus some of the well placed secrets that every boomer shooter ought to have.

Forgive Me Father feels like it has the shareware problem of its era, although is complicated. Its opening provides a quick-actioned tutorial with a decent weapon and a bunch of enemies, and then at some point everything becomes routine chores with the occassional setpiece that'll only stick out in your mind because it tried to do something wacky (the one time, looking at your pitch black map with the cult torches in the distance), was frustrating, like that one elevator maze flesh level from Blood (episode 3 or 4 maybe).

Many people recommend this, but I am gonna be red on this one. This just didn't quite digest for me.

I don't understand the negative reviews. The gunplay is so satisfying, especially in tandem with how fast you move. The art style is very stylish and unique, but more importantly, it's clear- in the sense that you can always tell exactly what you're looking at. Enemies stand out vividly, which I find valuable in a game like this. Plus their designs are dope, and often change based on how you choose to engage them. Like the liquidator; shooting their tank of green fluid completely transforms them from this Wolfenstein looking soldier into a full-on eldritch monster, which also disables their ability to use projectiles. This sort of thing applies to a few other enemies as well.

If you're looking for a narrative based game, it's pretty shallow, which is fine with me. The focal point of this game is fun. Pure, bloody, speedy fun. I'm playing a video game, not watching a movie lol and yea, the voice acting is corny, but I can't imagine anyone being so bothered by it that it outweighs or spoils the enjoyment you get from being a priest (or journalist) mowing down hordes of eldritch creatures to an awesome, metal guitar driven soundtrack. It's such a side thought, I didn't even think about it until I started reading other reviews.

It doesn't have a crazy Path of Exile talent tree, it's pretty simple, ranging from basic health/armor upgrades, to changing how your gun functions entirely. The cool part about it, is that you can reset your points immediately at will, allowing you to try every possible variation for your arsenal. And the guns you get are great, I was always switching to every single one of them based on the situation. I compared that to a similar game like Doom (2016), where I found myself using the same 3 guns and forgetting the others even existed half the time.

Huge recommend if you're a gamer looking to just game, and not be bogged down by 20 minute cutscenes, or hand-holding tutorials, or talking/walking simulators. It's just back to back, nuts to butts action, how could you not love it?

Pretty good boomer shooter with some nods to the Souls games as well. I really like H.P. Lovecraft and the Cthulhu mythos so it was pretty fun seeing all the detailed enemies. Some of the level design in the last 2 worlds was pretty annoying but other than that it was a fun game.

Excellent game. The look and feel of it is beautiful, like a noir graphic novel, and the levels are fun - the guns make a satisfying BLAM sound which is to me a staple of any FPS :) It's a tough game for me, but then I don't usually play FPS games, but the aesthetic and setting made me need to buy this game, and I'm glad I did! Also, the music is perfect :)

STEAM DECK COMPATIBILITY: I mean it works fine, technically, but it takes so long to turn around that it becomes unplayable at the ends of levels, when you're trapped in a small space with loads of enemies.

This game is just weird, the artstyle is incredible and the OST is good, but besides that, the gameplay, story, optimisation and immersion are pretty lackluster after the first two acts, the weapon upgrades feel underwhelming, spells fell clunky to use in combat, the bosses are completely chaos, most endgame enemies are annoying and the game is overall pretty easy.

If you really want this game grab it in a very good sale.

I recommend this game but with a HUGE * on it being a good game.
9/10 story and game play for 90% of the game
4/10 for how the ending climax is handled and last few levels are designed.

The gun play and movement are really tight with satisfying progression as you gain and level up weapons. I really enjoyed the story and art style of them game with the visceral enemy designs as you progress further into the story. I would really love to give this game an overall 9/10 but the in the last 4-5 levels the game REALLY falls. The game starts to throw in these odd platforming sections that feel like an after thought. The game, up to this point had a very clear run and gun mentality but then hard stops you and switches to precision platforming with a character that goes 0 to mach 4 in half a second but only has a 4 inch jump. The game also starts to throw you into confined arenas with a large number of ranged enemies with most of them having explosive attacks or deaths forcing you to take damage due to the confines of the arena or the multiple attacks tripping at once. This really made the last four levels a slog to get through and I had to take it in multiple sessions after getting increasingly frustrated with how the levels are played out. Also as a note, it is not a great idea to have a boss that you have to look up at to fight use ground visualized attacks with very short animations.
