I do recommend this game--it was cute, relatively simple with some challenge and some exploration, and the collecting was cute. The world was actually larger than I expected, and the bird was precious--I loved how it flew and the singing was quite sweet.

Small criticisms--I don't see the full benefit to teaming up with a friend in co-op, and that kind of makes me sad, it was difficult for us to fully enjoy it since only one person could be making decisions and it didn't go towards our guides together nor could we share a pool of creatures (which is fine, but was a cute idea). And also, when I was trying to the quest for the emperor cosmet, my friend accidentally caught the one I was chasing thinking it was part of her quest, which startled us both.

Also, and this was something I struggled a bit with in Pokemon games that similarly had a push to catch multiples of the same creature--it starts getting kind of redundant and I feel like the sweet spot was still missed a little.

This game hits the perfect amount of cozy, adventuring, and tickles my brain in so many ways. You find new little fwens, collect the fwens and they follow you.
The sound design, graphics quality blew me away and really added to the overall experience. I was a little worried this game would trigger my motion sickness, but I was completely fine, even after hours of playing.

I didn't get to enjoy the multiplayer mode, but would love to try it if my friends end up purchasing the game. Had a few minor bug issues when trying to 100% achieve the game, but overall no other problems.

Flock is a creature collector where you explore a small open world to find colorful creatures and add them to your flock.

The thing I feel the need to address first is the marketing for this game. Specifically regarding its multiplayer. Every presentation and trailer put out about this game emphasizes the online coop and even the first line in the steam description says “Flock is a multiplayer co-op game”. I don’t know if I was just missing out on a lot of hidden features but this game felt perfectly fit to be a single player experience. The user tags seem to agree with me because none mention the multiplayer aspect. In fact I’d go so far as to say I’m glad I played it alone. Flock is a slow paced game that rewards noticing the fine details in the environment. One of my favorite aspects of this game is the sound design. Each creature has a unique cry and each family of animals shares similarities in their cry. Its more than possible to try and find an animal just based off of the properties of its cry, and given some of the camouflage they employ in this game it's a tactic much of the time. I can’t imagine a friend group with the patience to do that over a voice call.

These animals have such specific behaviors I feel that there are a lot of patterns that you could ID to try and find more. However the game does a poor job presenting its own information to the player. You are not discovering these creatures just finding them again, so some hints are given to help you seek them out. Most are general regions to start your search while others have patterns like camouflage to be on the lookout for. Although most of the time in my playthru I would come across a creature randomly in my search for something else and identify it without knowing what would’ve lead me there to begin with. This wouldn’t be a big problem if Identifying a creature gave you a lot of information about it but it acts as tho once a creature is found the player has a mastery over finding that creature again which is simply not the case. Such basic things as a creature being nocturnal are left to the player to document themselves. It's still a fun creature collector in a beautiful stylized small open world but if the information gathering was a little deeper this would’ve gone down as one of my favorites this year.

A really lovely game that I started playing when I was off work sick, and which acted as a great pick-me-up. It's cosy, rewards exploration and paying attention, and looks gorgeous to boot when settings are up high.

I don't know why it's not "Verified" for Steam Deck, as I played it on one hooked up to my TV and it worked perfectly with the bigger UI turned on. I'd also recommend you turn on at least the first level of foliage in the settings; it makes the game look so much better, at the cost of battery life, but I think it's well worth it.

Wonderful game to play with a person you enjoy spending time with. Beautiful visual and auditory design with a subtle linear storyline.

Satisfies the need for collecting without being too grindy, though some creature spawns are inconsistent or bugged, I recommend advancing in the story if you feel a certain creature isn't spawning when it should.

I recommend you play this game with a friend or partner, 8/10.

This creature collector does what few in the genre really do, which is makes you use actual tracking skills (such as listening for distinct bird calls and looking closely at your environment) rather than it being about catching techniques. I thought it was a great time, it has a lot of visual personality, the movement mechanics and searching are very fun, and its a good use of a couple hours on a Saturday.

Beware though, it is surprisingly demanding for what it is, and you may need to tweak the graphics settings if running on a lower end PC

Its fine casual laid back game when you just want to wind down.

Don't expect anything deep, complex or even much content. About 5-6 hours to complete. Just fly with a flock and relax.

At most there some annoying easter egg style hunt for specific "birds" but that's about it.

Very cute game! sometimes it takes a long time for rarer Creatures to appear, so you should make sure to move across the entire map to reload what creatures spawn in. Some spawn in at certain times of day, others hide in plain sight. This game is most definitely best played with controller and a pair of headphones. Also once you get all of the collectables it keeps telling you that you've already gotten that collectable, but you NEED to keep feeding your sheep to pay for every cosmetic. Slightly annoying. I did encounter a glitch where the Rare Skyfish is sleeping again after I charmed it, but it didn't affect much for me.

Ein wirklich tolles "Monster sammeln" Spiel. Tolle Musik, die Steuerung fühlt sich in den meisten Fällen echt schön rund an (würde einen Controller empfehlen). Die Story mag zwar kurz sein, es reicht meiner Meinung aber auch. Das Sammeln der Kreaturen ist abwechslungsreich und süß sind die Dinger auch. Erst empfand ich das Konzept als zu simpel, aber so wie es ist, ist es perfekt. Selbst das bisschen Grind, was für ein paar Errungenschaften erforderlich ist, war tatsächlich angenehm.

This game is pretty good. The world looks nice and the creatures are unique while fitting into their little specie families. Yarn is really easy to get a hold of for more clothing and getting to pick names for your little sheeps is cute. What isnt fun is having to fly around the map to try and get one thing to spawn. It took me a couple hours just to get a specific one. I get that some are supposed to be rare, but tweaking the spawn rates for some of them would make it a lot better. Also you shouldnt have to go around collecting like 10 male of one to get 1 female, because you better believe you gotta do that again if you want another.
If you have a large flock during the quest for that one undiscovered species, having to go and collect them all back was a little tedious.
While this isnt really something that can take the fun out, when flap bursting I noticed that the top of your birds wings gets kinda, blocky? once I noticed it it drew my eyes every time. Granted, i dont know much about model making, so maybe thats the best it can look.
I feel there should be more incentive for doing the little challenges, although i dont really know what else they could give you other than just more yarn.
These werent really a huge deal to me, but maybe they would be for someone else. Overall i had a pretty good time playing

赛博观鸟小游戏，画风很独特，个人很喜欢这一类生物收集游戏，不过此游品种并不算很多，价格有点小贵吧
这种在野外闲逛的氛围很不错，颜色很绚丽，生物设计的也挺有意思
但对晕3D人群及其不友好。。我一个不晕3D的玩了三个小时都有点想吐。。建议不要一口气玩太久吧，时不时上线找点新品种就行了，等我缓过来再继续刷全成就（）

This was one of my favorite games of 2024. It was the perfect game to pick up on my Steam deck before going to bed. You explore a vibrant world full of colors and adorable flying creatures. The music is top notch - Eli Rainsberry does an incredible job with that, as always. And this was a super fun game to 100%, because that means having more excuses to explore. I only played it solo, but would be so down picking it up again with friends. The Richards, once again, release a lovely game.

Put the whole "Is it a game if it has no fail state?" quandary out of your mind. Grab a controller. Relax. Breathe. Enjoy.
The multiplayer is a bit clunky, as you do need to divide some tasks between players. For instance, if player A charms a critter into their flock, player B will need to find their own. But aside from those minor frictions, it's cozy and lovely. Recommended for anyone who loves weird little creatures.

Flock is not usually a game I would pick up, but with the right amount of mind-altering substances Flock becomes an absolute masterpiece. (This isn't to suggest you NEED drugs to enjoy Flock -- just that for me, being in the right frame of mind easily quadruples my appreciation of Flock.)

Pros:
+ Beautiful, colorful scenery with gentle music
+ Fascinating little critters with unique visuals and sounds
+ Easy to pick up and put down, even with co-op

Pro or Con, depending:
~ Extremely light plot that encourages you to partake in the game's strength (lackadaisical exploration)

Cons:
- Co-op feels 'first come first serve' and/or more parallel play than I would find ideal
- I will be sad when I find all the critters and have nothing more to explore :(

All in all, I recommend playing with a friend and an edible for the best experience.

A nice little creature collecting, nature appreciation kinda game!

I like this game and I do recommend it, but my only gripes are that the puzzles for the story can be a little funky and navigating around can be a little difficult without a compass system or a mini-map.

I haven't gone back to find all the little guys (not sure if I got the time to), but the time I did spend poking around and looking for new creatures, I did enjoy!

SO COZY. if you are into exploration and creature collecting, this is the game for you!! the taming mechanism can be a little tricky at times, but overall this is an extremely relaxing and fun game. I love the ease of traversal and movement....one of my favorite games is The Pathless, and this feels similarly smooth to go both short and long distances!

e muito foda, tem como ter uma rolinha de pet, e também tem uma ambientação e atmosfera absurda de linda, eu como uma amante de biologia adorei o jogo, e tem varias pegadas biologicas, como, comportamento de sertos animais e especies, camuflagem, tipos de expecie, ambientes ideais pra cada especie, e comtem muitas dicas sobre onde encotrar as especies 10/10

Flock was a game that I was actually very hyped about, and it was…fun? I guess? It wasn’t really what i was expecting. Usually when i play an indie game, smt always sticks to me, for some reason flock didnt do it. For 7 hours i just flew aroud a pretty big map just collecting critters and while it is indeed a very interesting small experience, the price isnt worth it in my opinion. If you’re a tryhard indie hame player or just someone that likes small cozy games, check it out but only at sales

A cute, casual game that is good for relaxing. Flying feels nice most of the time, but sometimes it is janky. I liked all the designs, the sounds of all the creatures and the soundtrack are fitting for this game. The charming mechanic can be a bit clunky sometimes, but it does the job. Grinding all the achievements isn't too hard, but maxing out Drupes and Skyfish is a bit annoying. Also, I find the full price to be asking a bit much for this game, sale price feels more appropriate. I have no major complaints though, the game delivers on what it sets out to do and I enjoyed playing it.

Flock is a charming and cozy creature-collector featuring a rounded (read: friend-shaped) world and delightful sound design - especially the chirps of the creature calls!

I was especially impressed by the flexible implementation of co-op multiplayer, allowing players to drop in and out of each other's games seamlessly. You can even be at different points in the story and still join and contribute - very convenient and impressive for an open world game.

Flock's gameplay strikes an excellent balance between rewarding observant players with rare creatures, while never being frustrating on the hunt for 100% completion. If you're in the mood for something relaxing to play with a friend to unwind, then Flock fits the bill perfectly!

This is one of those rare games where flying isn't a nightmare. the game is pretty cute and I spent more type flying around than anything else.. Probably due to the trauma linked to the flying or swimming mechanics of far too many games.

An extremely cute and fun cozy game. I love seeing my favorite bird things following me and exploring all the zones. I wish the game was longer with even more places to explore so the fun would never end. The controls can be a little finicky and my FPS dropped in a couple spots, but it wasn't anything too terrible and overall it ran really well.
