Fireburst is an unapologetically explosive arcade racing game that fully commits to speed, spectacle, and controlled chaos. Developed by exDream and published by Strategy First, it presents a racing experience that is less about clean lines and technical precision and more about aggression, momentum, and risk-reward decision-making. From the moment a race begins, the game establishes its identity through loud engines, fiery visuals, and an intense pace that rarely gives players time to breathe. It deliberately leans away from simulation sensibilities and instead embraces a bold, over-the-top style where winning often means pushing your car — and your nerves — right to the brink of destruction.

At the heart of Fireburst’s design is its defining Fireboost mechanic, which doubles as both a weapon and a liability. Activating Fireboost surrounds your car in flames, dramatically increasing speed while allowing you to smash into rival racers with devastating force. This creates a constant tension throughout every race, as using Fireboost too aggressively causes your heat meter to rise, and overheating results in an explosive self-destruct that sends you back onto the track with a costly delay. The system forces players to constantly evaluate when to unleash raw power and when to hold back, turning each straightaway and collision into a calculated gamble. I am really enjoying Fireburst! The controls on gamepad work great. The music is once again a mix of metal and punk, perfect for the genre. I had Fireburst running in ultra graphics and it looked really good. I did have a few problems when restarting a race, with the colors loading in. Hitting pause and then resume seemed to fix that instantly. The voice acting was great. The drivers are talking smack back and forth the entire race and the lines are funny as heck. The stereo typing is kind of hilarious if you pick up on it. I will leave those for you to discover and I won't quote them here. The outright boomer bashing is even better "You smell like my Grandpa" and "you are worse than my Dad" Followed by a flat out "yu suk". It makes it really fun to play with family. If not split screen on the couch with the kids. Yes split screen clearly says 1vs1 and that is not uncommon for games from this time. The challenges is where you will get most of your value out of this one if you are solo. They are fun and unique. Completing challenges unlocks new content. +Rep for no DLC, play to play more is a model you don't see anymore. Other than that, Firebust has not aged a day. It is really hard to tell if this game was released in 2010 or 2020. A firey twist to the demolition genre. If you are wanting some crash game action on a budget. I definitely recommend this game. The kids wont be able to tell the difference between this and a triple A demolition game. And Neither will you. If you want to play multiplayer just add me.
