Se você está pensando em comprar Finding Hope achando que vai encontrar uma experiência envolvente, prepare-se para a decepção. O jogo promete emoção, mas entrega monotonia. A narrativa parece arrastada, sem impacto real, e os personagens não têm carisma suficiente para segurar o jogador.
A jogabilidade é repetitiva, quase como se estivesse tentando esticar conteúdo que não existe. Em vez de me sentir imerso, fiquei contando os minutos para terminar e conseguir todas 5 conquistas. A trilha sonora, que deveria carregar a atmosfera, soa genérica e não ajuda em nada a criar conexão.
No fim, Finding Hope não me trouxe esperança, só frustração. Se você procura algo memorável, este não é o título. Existem opções muito melhores para investir seu tempo e dinheiro. Não recomendo.
I have achievements for this game which I've never owned or played, so that's weird?
I guess I'll wishlist it and see if it goes on sale, maybe I'll give it a try. I can't recommend it as I've not played it, but I don't want to negatively impact the score of a game which I've never played, so I'll thumbs-up it for now and update my review later if it's bad enough.
Anyone else end up with achievements for this game who hasn't played it? Super weird imo

I am 32 years old.
My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

RPG Maker strikes again!
Finding Hope is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel RPG Maker asset/construction kit flips spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club fan fiction.
This is another painfully generic asset flip from Andorlea/whatever other accounts they use (unclear why they need so many accounts to keep pushing the same RPG Maker asset flips). There's supposed to be some lighthearted tongue in cheek story, but it's just the usual high school fanfic trash coupled with the usual bad map design, and other general lazy filling out of the RPG Maker templates, putting this once more towards the bottom of the pile when it comes to RPG Maker garbage.
As with all RPG Maker games, the poor quality engine displays badly in fullscreen and doesn't have full HD support or any graphics tweaking options, making this unacceptable for any dedicated modern PC gamer. The point can be made that the intention of RPG Maker is to make demos and small games to pass around friends, and shouldn't be used for "professional" game development.
Like most RPG Maker shovelware and asset flips, the game features extremely low quality copy + pasted 2D retro pixel art, looks awful, and has even worse gameplay. RPG Maker is an absolutely terrible construction kit, and never results in games of any reasonable quality or value to gamers.
You don't have to take my word about how bad the game is, we can measure the interest in a game by how much people bothered to play it. Finding Hope has achievements, and they show us a very clear picture that the game absolutely failed to capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is for collecting 500 gold (trivial to do), yet only around 2 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the game. That's a tiny, tiny proportion of gamers who even bothered with this. Ouch.
Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this game was with players reveals a surprise... there's a very healthy spike in player counts for the game. But this isn't consistent with the achievement stats, that show only 2 percent of players bothered playing the game for any reasonable amount of time. How is it possible for this game to have so many concurrent players who weren't even playing the Trading cards. Players will use card idling software to collect the cards and sell them, but this won't trigger any achievements in-game. That tells us people only really bought this game for trading cards, and that's a damning indictment of the woeful quality. A closer look at the numbers shows the game just has a couple of players every week running up the game and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many games like this, with no merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards.
Gamers who want a good retro JRPG experience would be better off playing the originals, like Final Fantasy, Star Ocean or Chrono Trigger. Leave this asset flip in the trash pile where it belongs.

Ainda estou surpreso com o quão bom este jogo é, não esperava muita coisa pelo preço, porém a história é muito bem elaborada, personagens com personalidades cômicas e várias horas de jogo, ainda não terminei o jogo mas já posso dizer que vale muito a pena.

Fun and enjoyable little game. It doesn't take long to get all the achievements.

Developer is MIA.
It's a cutesy little rpgmaker game. Not outstanding, but not a huge disappointment either. I have played some of these that were unplayable and this is a sight better than some of them. I got 18 hours of entertainment out of this game so in my mind well worth what they are asking out of it. Having said that the game is a far cry from perfect, don't expect AAA quality out of it you will be disappointed. All in all I'd give it a 6 out of 10. I enjoyed it.

Finding Hope est le premier jeu étant éditeur et concepteur avec le logiciel RPG Maker par Falling Star , eh bien... c'est un jeu qui ne se prend pas trop au sérieux. Shin semble être le descendant d'un homme qui ... eh bien, s'est avéré cupide, s'est infiltré dans un lieu sacré, a bu l'eau toute puissante des dieux, est devenu une divinité maléfique avant que Gaia lui donne un coup de pied dans le postérieur ainsi qu'une femme afin qu'il la regarde mourir... et maudis aussi toute sa lignée pour subir le même sort. Cela semble être la seule raison qui me pousse à comprendre pourquoi il est si farfelu, oh et Dawn a besoin de son aide pour traverser la forêt enchantée afin de localiser un Oracle... ce qui serait plus facile si elle le faisait et ne vous endormez pas à tous les instants ... Bref, voilà l'histoire en gros.
Les points forts - l'histoire est intéressante et avec beaucoup d'humour... les détails apporter au jeu sont très beau et rend le jeu accueillant, les graphiques des personnages et des ennemis sont personnalisés incluant les sons des scénarios (ce qui brise la monotonie des RPG conventionnelle).
Les points faibles par contre - le jeu se joue sur une résolution de 720 X 480 (aucun moyen de le rendre plus grand)... votre personnage n'augmentera jamais de niveau du début à la fin... vos personnages ne peuvent pratiquement jamais mourir (combat mal équilibré)... vous complétez tous les succès avant même de finir le jeu (perte d'intérêt pour continuer)... le jeu est très grand, mais ne possède pas de carte géographique précise (seulement une carte globale)... le jeu est extrêmement redondant ainsi que beaucoup de blablabla pour ne rien dire.
Néanmoins, vous obtiendrez 3 cartes de collection sur 5 et 5 succès facilement gagnés si vous avez de la patience. Donc, ce jeu est un peu une comédie, alors soyez prévenus. En outre, avec son prix peu élevé, considérez-le comme un tueur de temps. Je le recommande pour les chasseurs de succès... mais pour les autres passer votre chemin.

Das Gameplay entspricht dem, was der RPG Maker XP standardmäßig mitbringt. Man durchstreift die Gegend, bis man via Randomencounter auf Gegner trifft, die in einem einfach gehaltenen Runden Kampfsystem bekämpft werden.
In Ortschaften können Ausrüstung und Heilitems gekauft werden. Einige NPCs in Ortschaften geben einem Quests, die oft damit zu tun haben, Dinge oder Personen zu finden. Einen Questlog gibt es nicht, wer die Quests also machen will, sollte Stift und Papier bereit halten.
[h1]Grafik, Soundtrack[/h1]
Die Grafik enspricht zum Großteil dem RTP des RPG Maker XP. Monstergrafiken im Kampfsystem sowie Bustshots von Charakteren haben einen anderen Stil und sind wohl vom Entwickler selbst angefertigt worden. Mir persönlich gefallen diese nicht besonders.
Der Soundtrack entspricht dem des RPG Maker XP, was nicht unbeding schlecht ist, wer aber schon viele Makerspiele gespielt hat, wird das meiste schon öfter gehört haben.

Ich bin selbst Hobbyentwickler, hier also ein wenig persönliche Meinung:
Die Kämpfe sind großteils ziemlich leicht, aber zahlreich, was durch das Design der Dungeons noch verstärkt wird. Diese sind nämlich mit ihren unsinnig langen Laufwegen auf Spielzeitstreckung ausgelegt. Das und die groteils eher "unglücklich" umgesetzten Dialoge machen es einem Spieler, der ein wenig Anspruch hat schwer, das Spiel wirklich zu genießen. Wer nicht unbedingt darauf aus ist, seine Erfolgsquote auf Steam zu pushen, sollte um dieses Machwerk einen Bogen machen.

"Finding Hope" ist ein RPG-Maker Game.
Und es hat so ziemlich alle Probleme, die ein RPG-Maker Game meist hat. Extrem repetitive Kämpfe mit den immer gleichen Gegnern, die einen alle paar Schritte angreifen kombiniert mit langen Laufwegen. Grindiges und umständliches Party-Management unserer vier Protagonisten. Unübersichtliches Leveldesign.
Und doch rettet "Finding Hope" ein wesentlicher Punkt vor der Beliebigkeit. Und das ist nicht mal die versponnene und wendungsreiche Story, die einem in richtig gut geschriebenen Cutscenes unterbreitet wird. Die ist dann nämlich doch, auch wenn gut gedacht, zu krude und merkwürdig, als daß sie endlos fesseln könnte. Herausragend ist der Humor und da primär der situative, der meist trocken und flach daherkommt und begründet ist in starken, eigenwilligen, nicht einfachen Charakteren, die einem irgendwie sympathisch werden. Wenn etwa der stets abgewiesene Poet selbst beim personifizierten Tod mit seinem Versuch, ihm seine Lyrik vorzutragen, abblitzt, hat das durchaus treffende Komik.
Dumm nur, daß das Gameplay und vor allem die Kämpfe, vor denen man sich nur begrenzt drücken kann, zu einem großen Nervfaktor werden, denn die rundenbasierten Auseinandersetzungen sind dann doch viel zu wenig komplex, als daß sie länger unterhalten könnten.
Auch mit dem Mystery-Fantasy Setting sollte man etwas anfangen können, auch wenn dieses in hohem Grade ironisiert ist.

Well... this is a game that is not taking itself too seriously. Shin appears to be the descendant of a man who... well, got greedy, infiltrated a sacred place, drank the all-powerful water of the gods, became an evil deity, before Gaia kicked his backside and cursed him to fall in love with a woman then watch her die... And also cursed his entire bloodline to suffer the same fate.
This seems to be the only reason off the top of my head as to why he is such a... jackass to everyone. Especially Dawn, who he has appeared to have seen before and realized he might... like her... Oh and Dawn needs his help to go through the Enchanted Forest to find an Oracle... which would be easier, if she didn't fall asleep every few moments...
So this game is a bit of a comedy, so be forewarned. Also, with how cheap it is... just consider it a time-killer.
I wonder if anyone else played this game and what the dev offered for a positive review?
The mapping is atrocious. Houses are 10 times bigger from the inside and almost empty or unkind. Lots of labyrinth-like paths that took me thrice as long to get through. I was able to run up walls but got stuck when I approached things that shouldn't block me. When there were cut scenes I got ported to an area that doesn't even look like my surroundings and people just decided to disappear after talking to me - because walking away is too mainstream.
Fights don't seem that important but I am really glad about it. There is no combat/skill/character balancing. Skills need too much MP (400 of 800 e.g.) but almost all fights are against one mob which is mostly a one-rounder. If there were more they wiped me pretty fast because enemies do way too much damage (sometimes even onehits).
I couldn't find a variety of weapons or armor but plenty of healing items instead. Most of them seem useless and overpriced tho.
Last but not least it was the story that disappointed me. Dialogues seem forced, unnatural and I am still looking for the humorous parts.
At one point the characters started to talk about stuff they never mentioned before which spoilered and confused me. After playing some more another conversation explained what happened back there. Some things happen/are mentioned way too early in the game.
The only parts of madness and crazy I found was me playing this.

Simply put, this game is nice. The humorous undertone makes up for the aweful amount of time you spend walking through unnecessarily spacious rooms with furnishing that often seems a bit random. The heroes are loveable too and have some character developement. The story - even though trying to be funny a bit too hard - is mostly well done. Considering that on the same day I purchased the game for 30 Cents I was charged more than 4€ for a horrible tasting coffee, Finding Hope was much cheaper and more fun.

I earned a 90% off coupon for this so it was cheap, the only good thing about the game. It has too much text, I basically hit enter a 1000 times. Nothing was fun, I coudln't play more than 11 minutes of the game before I was bored.
Not a bad game. One thing that's immediately clear is that an editor really should have been brought in to polish the writing, as it feels somewhat rough. Having fun so far though! The music is fun too!

Finding Hope is a nice little game. You can tell a lot of genuine work went into it. The story is pretty linear with a handful of side quests but the story is nice and the dialouge gets to the point with nice humorous undertones. The music is great and I love the original artwork.
My only complaint is that the white text is sometimes hard to read when its on top of the characters and other artwork.
I very much enjoyed this game and I will be playing the sequel Beyond Magic.
Interesting game at an affordable price, a little different from other games of it's kind. There are some funny moments, the battle system is similar to other games of it's kind(rpg maker, Jrpg games), I found it not boring.
Try it, if not found interesting make use of steam refund( like I did with No Man's Sky).
Will update as I progress more with the game.
