I'm not sure how to fix that, but this game should not be available to be purchased until that is fixed completely. Creating a config.txt file did not work for me, nor did verifying files. For those of you that fixed it, I'm happy for you, but it seems impossible for me. I can run Re9 on high settings but this game just won't even open due to this error. If you buy it, be prepared for this error.

Ich bewerte jetzt nicht die Remastered Version und nicht dass Spiel.

Weil ich es so oft lese, die 15 FPS sind in der Engine verbaut. Da kann man in den Kämpfen nix modden, weil es auch am timiningbasierten Kampfsystem hängt. Hingegen kann man an den 30 FPS aus der Overworld schon was machen, aber ich verstehe den Entwickler, für mich wäre es eine Achterbahnfahrt, wenn ich immer zwischen 60 Fps und 15 FPS switchen müsste.

Zum Spiel.

Ist ein guter Klassiker, war sogar mein erstes Final Fantasy und im Gegensatz zum originalen FF7 war dass für mich immer die rundere Geschichte. Schade nur, dass CD 4 storytechnisch überhaupt nichts mehr zu bieten hat und die Hauptantagonistin keine gute Backstory hat. Das Remake holt jedoch gerade stark auf in Hinsicht auf Story und Charakterbuilding. Ich hoffe FF8 bekommt auch ein gutes Remake in Zukunft.

PS로 나온 파이널판타지8. 파판7이 초대박히트를 치고 나온 게임인데, 7보다도 그래픽이 월등하게 진보된게 특징. 지금에서야 그저 올드한 게임이긴 하지만 그 시절에는 거의 최고 기술로 선보인 게임. 파판하면 그 당시 보여줬던 최고의 그래픽을 보여준 게임인데 이 게임도 그랬음. 특징이라면 파판 최초로 로맨스를 강조한 스토리. 사실 처음 봤을 때는 좀 난해했는데 주인공인 스퀄이 여주인 리노아에게 점점 빠져드는 서사가 재밌었던 것 같다.

그에 반해 게임의 시스템이 조금은 복잡한데 제일 큰 특징은 주인공, 파티 레벨이 오르면 적들도 같이 올라 난이도가 올라간다. 그렇기 때문에 저렙파티로 플레이하는 것이 스토리를 조금 더 수월하게 밀 수 있다.

지금 플레이하기에는 많이 올드한 게임이긴 하지만 HD리마스터에서는 속도 부스트나 전투 옵션등을 켜고 끄고 할 수 있어 편의성이 올라갔고 무엇보다도 유저 한패가 안나올 줄 알았는데.. 결국 나와버렸다. (나온지 좀 됨) . 예전에 플레이를 했지만 한글로 접하지 못한 사람 혹은 고전 JRPG를 즐기고 싶은 분들에게 추천한다.

Unfortunately I will never be able to actually play Final Fantasy 8 due to crashes. The game crashes every time during the very first cutscene as soon as the gunblade appears on screen. I don't know why it crashes, and I'm not getting any errors prompts or popups when the crash occurs.

If this is how it's going to be throughout the whole game, starting literally less than TWO MINUTES INTO THE GAME then I don't want to even bother with having to deal with an entire game of constant crashing, losing progress and risk crashing again.

I do NOT recommend this game. Purchase this game at your own wallet's risk.

Only a positive review to hopefully encourage Square Enix to actually remake the best FF game (yes, nostalgia speaking, even after seeing all the angst in the writing again). Surely with the success of the RE reboots and FF7, it would be easy money but the rate that they're working I'll be in a retirement home by the time it gets made.

The actual review - This is NOT a "remaster", its a port with some basic features added. If you want it to look like a remaster, you will need extensive mods - some guy with AI has done more than an entire company. Still the same FF8 game but if this is your first experience playing it, you will probably be disppointed with the visuals. The 3x speed function is incredible though, made me realise how I sunk so many hours into it as a kid with all the filler.

many textures have not been updated, and the remaster keeps the original game's 4:3 aspect ratio. character model improvements are nice, but not worth the price tag considering much of the game has not been updated, seemingly, at all.

FFVIII has a lot of jank and is very divisive, but this review is about the "remastered" version specifically. It should be a crime to call this remastered while the background textures are completely unchanged. The entire game will be marred by horrifically blurry and ugly backgrounds that clash terribly with the updated character models walking over them. There is a collection of mods that attempt to upscale the backgrounds, but they are AI generated and while the creator put in effort to manually touch them up they still have that classic AI smear because the original asset was too low resolution. Either way, you shouldn't have to mod the game to get a "remastered" experience, demand something better and save your money.

Final Fantasy VIII n’était pas un épisode que j’appréciais particulièrement au départ. Avec le temps, j’ai appris à l’aimer pour son ambiance, ses personnages et son histoire à part.

En revanche, ce “Remastered” reste très minimal. Ce jeu mérite un vrai remake ou un remaster beaucoup plus travaillé.

Hablar de Final Fantasy VIII es hablar de uno de los JRPG más incomprendidos y, al mismo tiempo, más especiales que he jugado en mi vida. Es un juego que se atreve a hacer las cosas diferente, que no sigue el molde tradicional, y justamente por eso se siente tan único incluso hoy.

La historia tiene una vibra melancólica y romántica que pocas veces se ha replicado con esa intensidad. La relación entre Squall y Rinoa evoluciona de forma sutil, torpe y humana. Squall no es el típico héroe carismático: es introvertido, distante, lleno de dudas. Y verlo abrirse poco a poco es genial. La banda sonora de Nobuo Uematsu eleva cada escena a otro nivel; temas como “Eyes On Me” no solo acompañan, sino que te atraviesan el alma.

Y sí, voy a decirlo sin miedo: a mí no me molesta tener que extraer magia de los monstruos. De hecho, el sistema Draw y Junction me parece fascinante. Te obliga a pensar, a planificar, a decidir qué estadísticas potenciar y cómo construir a cada personaje. No es un sistema automático ni simplista; recompensa al jugador paciente y estratégico. Hay algo muy satisfactorio en prepararte bien, optimizar tus magias y luego sentirte imparable en combate. Es distinto, pero esa diferencia es precisamente lo que lo hace memorable.

Además, su mundo tiene una identidad visual increíble: las Garden, las ciudades futuristas mezcladas con fantasía clásica, las invocaciones espectaculares… Todo respira personalidad. Puede que no sea el Final Fantasy más convencional, pero es uno de los más valientes.

Para mí, Final Fantasy VIII no es solo un juego: es una experiencia emocional. Es romance, es nostalgia, es música inolvidable y es un sistema de combate profundo que se anima a romper esquemas. Y justamente por eso, lo amo. 💙

I've played this game across all versions. It's good. Heathy set of mods out there that really helps it stand out from the ps1 version. Lack of rumble is always on my mind though.

- This game is pretty good but...
- ... not a fan of the junction system and limited magic. Got pretty confused in the beginning with the menus. Compared to the other FFs this was total chaos and it annoyed me very much. Although, once I finally got the hang of it later in the game, I could see the idea that the devs wanted to pass to this game and I was able to enjoy it more. Still don't like it.
- I have to admit, you can get pretty OP, even early on, but the grind is a bit tedious.
- Now the animations tho, holy! For its time it's really well done. All cinematics were really emotional or really badass. The summons animations were long as hell but cool either way.
- As a whole, the story for me was the best part in this game. Nice plot-twists while using time stuff. Pretty risky but they managed. Got really invested in it.
- Now for each character, I didn't notice too much development and backstory except for Squall and Rinoa. The rest were a bit simple, but still likeable.
- I would recommend this game if you already have some experience with JRPGs.

There are serious problems with this game. Much is made about the premise--being at mercenary school or whatever. That doesn't matter. The first 10 or so hours of this game, up until the end of disc 1, are fantastic. In many ways, I found myself thinking that, at the beginning of this game, it might be one of the best of the golden age of Final Fantasy. I was not particularly bothered by the Junction system. I think Squall's character is sort of funny. It looks extremely beautiful. The train sequence is wonderful. But this one falls apart, badly. There is, in fact, a famously bad moment that takes place in an orphanage. It is bad. I'd go even further: It is fully destructive of the game. It's simply too stupid. My tolerance for that sort of thing, contrived idiocy, is, despite my interest in Final Fantasy, in fact quite low. It is sufficient to allow me to stomach mercenary school. But what happens at that orphanage is beyond the pale. It suggests that Kazushige Nojima either ran out of time or just sucks at his job. In any case, I found myself afterward just pleading for it to be over. I managed to acquire all the Triple Triad cards. That minigame is just unbelievably good. I did virtually everything there is to do. Not my favorite.

Ainda estou no começo, mas já estou decepcionado. Esperava muito mais, deveria ter jogado a versão original. Essa versão "remasterizada" não foi feita com empenho. Melhoraram os gráficos dos personagens jogáveis no geral, mas todo o resto: cenários, ambientes do mundo no mapa, tudo é de uma pobreza sem tamanho. Eu não sou de reclamar de frames por segundo, mas acho terrível como em hora de combate tudo parece rodar mais lento. Quanto ao jogo eu ainda estou descobrindo, mas não vou negar que estou achando ruim em comparação com outros que já joguei no PlayStation. Não gostei da Escolinha do Professor Raimundo no começo, parece a novela Rebelde, depois vai pro mato caçar bicho. Olha, sinceramente eu deveria ter visto melhores reviews antes de comprar.

Quando se remasteriza um filme ou uma música, a equipe técnica procura extrair a melhor qualidade possível do material para que seja visto hoje como foi visto na época: da maneira mais cristalina possível. Em games isso nem sempre é verdade, o que eu vi foi um empenho para tirar a imagem de "meme" que o protagonista tinha devido aos gráficos de baixa resolução do passado melhorando modelos 3D mas mantendo fundos de baixa qualidade, cenários que não fazem justiça ao que deveria ser o render original na época. Parece um trabalho de baixo orçamento, quase um mod de comunidade, sendo que a comunidade de fãs teria feito um trabalho melhor. Dropei por enquanto, gostaria de ter mais sorte com os outros jogos da saga mas pelo visto os ports de PC são todos bem porcaria. Jogos aproveitáveis apenas no videogame e olhe lá.

Foi o primeiro rpg que terminei no ps1, e é o Final Fantasy que eu mais joguei.
O jogo é bom, muita gente não gosta pelo sistema de Junction ser confuso, mas depois que vc aprende como usar, vai embora no jogo. Legal que vc pode "quebrar" o jogo e deixar bem fácil com as junctions e os itens do jogo, a escolha é sua.

Nesse remaster tem como facilitar ativando velocidade em 3x, tirar lutas randômicas, e deixar o grupo com limite break a vontade, mas tira a graça, eu só usei o 3x e dificilmente me imagino jogando sem, ajuda demais. Melhoraram os modelos dos personagens e os monstros, mas foi isso, de resto foi bem preguiçoso.

Segunda vez que faço todas as conquistas nesse remaster, a primeira vez foi no ps4, é bem fácil, ainda peguei todas as cartas mesmo sem precisar (Triple Triad é bom demais), bom pegar um guia pra quem não manja, tem coisas que vc perde e não da pra voltar.

Recomendo em uma promoção, é um bom jogo, mas tive problemas com vários crashes, e é frustrante, já aconteceu logo após ganhar uma carta rara em um jogo difícil, e até mesmo depois de matar o ultimo chefe do jogo. Tem tradução pt-br feita por fãs, só pesquisar, baixar e aproveitar

Summary: FF8 had the biggest turn around for me. I never enjoyed this game as a kid and hated the junction system. After consulting a guide for the 100% I realised the issue was I just did not understand the game at all. You are NOT supposed to level up, the world levels up with you and some monsters and bosses WILL outpace your stats. You will spend time min maxing EXP trying to limit your gains during fixed encounters either letting temporary party members get the EXP bonus (For landing the killing blow) or using G.F abilities like Card to turn them into Triad cards to get no EXP. Bosses also do not give EXP so it is like the planned for this to be the case.

This game is easy to break and that is what makes it great. you can easily grind some Triple Tired cards early game to refine 100 tornado spells which you can junction to Squall and easily start one shotting mobs and mowing down bosses. Another strong point is you can spam limit breaks as they are linked to low HP percentage. If you can keep Squall in the yellow and keep passing turn you can almost guarantee a limit break each turn which gain priority over all queued up actions on both sides of the field.

All this being said with the ability to get very powerful and trying to get minimum EXP makes each encounter fun and interesting and not a mash A to kill everything ASAP. I love the dynamic between Squall and his comrades like Rinoa and Zell. Squall gets dealt a really raw deal and you cannot help but feel for him. he never asked for a lot of the things that are forced upon him. Seifer is a fun reoccurring villain but gives me the "American Bully" vibe way too much but makes a good scapegoat for the real villains.

I like the way they handled G.F's it was very reminiscent of Magicite from FF6 and allows for proper party customization. Some more fun ways you can break the game s using he Level Up skill from a G.F to level boost a Red Dragon to an insanely powerful level so you can suck Flares out of it to get even more powerful sooner. The story while not as good as FF7 is still very interesting and compelling, if is a bit predicable and convenient at times.

便利機能と称した公式チートも追加されていますので、時間のない方でもサクっと
プレイできます。
それ以外のシステムは当時のままなので、テンポの悪さも当時のままではありますが・・・ｗ
（最近のゲームに慣れてる人ほど特に感じるかと）

カードバトルはＦＦミニゲーム史上のなかでも最高クラスに楽しい
ＦＦシリーズにおいて埋もれがちな作品ですが、楽曲は本当に素晴らしい

Final Fantasy VIII is a genuinely underrated gem that the internet spent years convincing me to skip — don't make that mistake.
