The PC version of Final Fantasy IX features high-resolution character models, improved FMVs and modern enhancements such as auto-save, fast-forward and battle boosters. It supports both controller and keyboard/mouse input. The Steam release also includes achievements and allows for community-created mods, including the popular Moguri Mod, which restores original-style backgrounds and audio.

Enquanto os antecessores (FF7 e FF8) flertaram com o futurismo e o realismo, Final Fantasy IX retorna às raízes da alta fantasia com uma execução impecável. É um jogo que usa uma estética "fofa" para contar uma das histórias mais profundas, existenciais e emocionantes da era PlayStation.
Por que este jogo é obrigatório:
A Trama e o Dilema Existencial: Por trás do design de personagens vibrantes, o jogo aborda temas pesados como o medo da morte, a busca pelo propósito da vida e o que significa ter uma alma. Cada protagonista enfrenta uma crise de identidade real e palpável.

Игра из рандома, уже 2-я финалка из списка. После 7-ки, я ждал довольно хорошую историю и немного душную игру ближе к финалу игры своим гриндом. В целом игра оправдала ожидания что и не удивительно :)

[h1]Хорошенькое:[/h1]
+ Сюжет. Отличный рассказ с большим количеством загадок, информации, действующих лиц, сюжетных поворотов.
+ Геймплей. Это тот же самый пошаговый геймплей, что был в 7 части. Единственное, я играл с функцией ожидания. Тут множество различных атак и действий на каждом шаге. Теперь тут интерфейс гораздо адекватнее, нет путаницы в том, куда атакуешь.
+ Саундтрек. Очень крутая тут музыка, дополняет всю эту фэнтезийную и сказочную атмосферу, а песня Даггер невероятно мелодична.
+ Персонажи. Персонажи по ходу игры делают большой рост и учатся на событиях. Как пример могу привести Штайнера, который делает колоссальный рост, хоть он меня всё равно бесит) Все персонажи запоминаются и имеют свой характер, только чуваки из банды не особо отличаются друг от друга.
+ Боссы. Босс-файты хорошие. У вас будут проблемы с ними, если их не изучать. Иногда может повезти, иногда нет. Но бои с ними действительно требуют изучения. На среднем — не обязательно, только под конец игры. На высоких сложностях, скорее всего, каждый босс будет требовать подготовки.
+ Диалоги. Диалоги тоже очень интересные. К сожалению, тут нет озвучки, а только текст. Читать это всё интересно, также присутствует юмор.
+ Визуал и дизайн. Просто невероятная работа над визуалом и стилем, так стилем заглушить ограничения в графике и возможностях, похвала.

+ Локации. Они разнообразны и интересны, всё красивенько и с отдельными дорожками с лутом.
+ Оружие и экипировка. Её достаточно много. И при должном желании всё можно пройти, даже имея всего лишь первый уровень.
+ Прокачка. Если же забить на экипировку, то в целом можно и передавить уровнем. Вообще тут несколько уровней прокачки: просто характеристики, способности, а также их уровень.

+- Противники. Их достаточно много, есть очень неприятные, очень многие из них являются стандартными (уязвимость к огню, льду и т. д.). Но из-за большого объема сражений на протяжении игры количество противников ощущается недостаточным.
+- Сложность. Очень нестабильна: то пролетаешь боссов, будто это стандартный противник, то обычный соперник представляет дикую опасность. Но скорее всего это по причине того, что я не вдавался в уязвимости противников.
+- Катсцены. Хорошо поставлены и, на удивление для своего года, имеют более-менее адекватную картинку. Но это всё равно очень мыльно.

- Графика. Ну уже очень слабенько, очень, хотя стилистика тащит.
- Скриншоты. Нет фоторежима, что очевидно, ну и сделать какой-либо оригинальный кадр нет возможности.
- Гринд. Я наткнулся на него в конце по причине того, что не разбирался в вещах.
- Часть имеет неуместный дизайн. Я вообще не понял, что это за армия такая с голожопыми девицами. Враги точно так же иногда странные: то драконы, то бегающий кактус. Что?

This is one of my favorite games of all time. I love the ability system, I love tetra master, all of it. It seems like you either love FF8 or this one, and this one is my jam. Everyone should try it, it's good, and for those who have played it enough times to get bored, modding this version through Memoria Mod Manager is extremely easy.

ゲーム序盤はストーリーがずっと強制的に進められて経験値稼ぎしたり、装備を整えたり、お金を稼いだり準備が全く出来ない。メンバーも常に誰が欠けてフルメンバーが揃わない。レベルも足らず、アイテムも揃えられない状態でそのまま強いボスとの戦闘を強いられる。もう少し回復施設を用意して欲しかった。ストーリーは本当良く作り込まれていて面白かった。

I struggle to put into words how much this game means to me.

It was the first Final Fantasy game I played as a child and I have very fond memories liked to FFIX.

I am just going to say this: this is the best game I have ever played. The perfect RPG / Fanstasy game with an incredible story and outstanding characters.

I have played and finished this game 4 times. Each time feels like the first one. The story is truly well written and captivating, and to this date I consider it the best FF story.

My favourite character is Vivi, and I loved finding out about his background and journey as well as playing him in my squad.

Additionally, there is so much content in this game but at no point you feel like it's not worth exploring or grinding because everying fits into the narrative and the storyline.

I cannot reccomend this game enough. Even if it's an old game, you won't regret giving it a go.

It's a magical advanture and truly one of a kind which you won't forget.

PS: I hope some day they will re-make this game with modern graphics while staying true to the spirit of the original

A timeless classic, and this game is very near and dear to my heart. Story and gameplay aside, I remember the days when I had no memory card for my PS1 and kept that console running; I pissed my parents off so much. The internet was less accessible so I could only go on it from time to time to check GameSpot's walkthrough to learn something each visit so there were times where I was stuck and didn't know how to progress because I was probably 10 or 11. This game is truly nostalgia, and I thank SquareSoft (OG) for giving me these precious memories. Melodies of life for real.

- This turned out to be one of my favorite Final Fantasy games
- There are a lot of references to the titles before this one. From bosses, to music, to other entities. It looked like the devs wanted to say like "thank you" to all the fans.
- For some reason I noticed that this game has a lot of similarities with FF7 (my favorite game btw).
- I really enjoyed this type of world setting. Fantasy/medieval world with machinery based on some kind of magic resource.
- After suffering with the battle system of FF8, this one was waaaaay more cool to deal with. I appreciated the nice mechanic of learning abilities with equipment. Looks like FF7 remake took this as reference, maybe.
- Nobuo Uematsu is a legend. For this game he really popped off.
- It has a beautiful narrative, with interesting background of characters and even environments. Some stuff are hidden and totally missable.
- The animations were really good. Especially the cutscenes. The last summon you get for Dagger is absurd, I just started laughing. Reminded me of Knights of the Round.
- I loved every main character. Even the side characters were nice. Each with their certain attitude and actions. Their interactions were emotional at some times, and other times they were really funny
- RALLY-HO! Gotta love those scottish dwarves
- Cool minigames. We like those.
- I did a lot of the side content. Got almost all ultimate weapons, did the chocobo quest, level 99 on main party, defeated the super boss... Got really OP and defeated the final dungeon easily (but not so easy because of annoying debuffs). You know how it is.
- Highly recommend. Played with Moguri mod for better experience. On Steam Deck.

FF 9’u artı ve eksileriyle masaya yatıyorum sürprizbozansız

[h2]+Doldurma (Filler) bölümleri olmayan bir dizi gibi akıcı hikaye.[/h2]
Filler nedir? Dizinin ana senaryosu dışında gereksiz işlenen konulardır. Yan konu bile degildir. Mesela ana karakterin pararel evrendeki halleri işlenir. Bazen 2-3 bölüm bir karakterin rüyası işlenir. Sonra ana senaryoya kaldıgı yerden dizi devam eder.

FF 9’da hikaye çok akıcı şekilde ilerliyor ve olaylar zinciri birbirine muazzam derecede baglanmış. Derler ya odaklanma sorunu olan ben bile 2 saat aralıksız dinledim. İşte o derece bir akıcılık var senaryoda. Oyunun uzunluguna kısalıgına bakmadan sıkılmadan oynuyorsunuz.

Oyun başlangıcında Alexandria prensesini kaçırma amacıyla başlıyoruz. Bknz: Emel Sayın ve Tarık Akan’ın oynadıgı Mavi Boncuk filmi :D

FF9, FF7 ve FF8 oyunlarına nazaran farkını ortaya koyuyor. Genellikle hikaye Zidane’nin gözünden işleniyor. Ana karakter yaşadıgı olaylara kızmak ve üzülmek yerine işi gırgır şamataya vurmayı seçiyor. Fantastik hikaye ve komik bir anlatım birleşince oyun daha da güzelleşiyor.

Ben tüm FF oyunlarını oynamadım ama sanırım olaylara mizahi yaklaşan tek FF oyunu FF9. Digerleri daha ciddi.

Yan karakterler ve kötü karakterlerin işlenişi hepsi kusursuza yakın diyebilirim. Karakterlerin yaşadıkları olaylardan sonra verdikleri tepkiler aşırı mantıklı ve FF9 evrenine ait kararlar. Bir karakterde bile mantık hatası görmedim. Karakter tepkileri, gelişim ve degişimleri çok çok iyiydi.

Bu oyundaki bir karakterin video oyun tarihinin en iyi karakterlerinden biri oldugunu söyleyen çok kişi var. İşleniş sebebiyle.

[spoiler]Vivi ve kara büyücüler; Kara büyücüler gezegende yaşayan ruhların özünden üretiliyor. Başta robot gibiler sadece emirlere uyuyorlar. Bir süre sonra benlik kazanıp masum insanlara saldırmak istemiyorlar. Benlik kazanma sebepleri bence içlerinde bulunan ruh parçalarının kişisel özellikleri sebebiyle.
Kuja ve Zidane; Adem’e secde etmeyen şeytan Kuja. Kujayı begenmeyenler kujayı anlayamamış. Tam olmasada iblisin yaratıcıya isyanına benzer bir konu işleniyor.[/spoiler]

en sevdiği Final Fantasy oyununun Final Fantasy IX olduğunu söylemiş. Cidden diger FF oyunlarıyla yan yana koyunca fark var. Yalan yok Chrono Trigger’a benzettim FF9’u. Ama önceki hiç bir FF oyununu benzetmemiştim başka bir oyuna. Kendi çocuklugundan esintiler ve eski oyunlara benzerlik oldugu için en sevdigim FF oyunu FF9 demiş olabilir. Sebebini bilmiyoruz sadece varsayım.

Komutların yavaş işlenmesini, savaşa geçmeden önce kameranın tepemizde 30 saniyeligine breakdance yapmasını kenarda tutuyorum. Oyundaki büyü yetenegi(eleidon) ARK’ın animasyonu tam 1 dakika 46 saniye sürüyor.

Oynayacaklara tavsiyem;

Ein Meisterwerk, weil ich es als Kind schon gesuchtet habe^^ Das Gameplay ist typisch Rundenbasiertes FF gehaue... leider weniger mein ding. Zudem gefällt mir aus heutiger Sicht nicht, wie sich die Story entwickelt: Die wird so krass abgedreht, obwohl mir die relativ oberflächliche Hauptgeschichte am Anfang besser gefiel.
Aber allein durch die Charaktere, die Musik und die tolle Spielwelt, macht es das alles Wett und zu einem wichtigen Spiel, zu dem man immer wieder zurückkehren möchte =)

This is a great Final Fantasy game and I highly recommend it. The story and music are both great. The only problems with the game is the trance system as you can't control when to activate it when compared to the limit break system from Final Fantasy 7, so it can be random when it activates and you just ended the fight after, completely wasting the meter. The other problem (which is most likely a skill issue on my part) are some of the encounters as it feels like I needed to grind more levels as I got killed easily on some of the main story encounters. Other than that, I give Final Fantasy 9 a 9/10.

日本語はサポートされていませんって書いてますけど
普通に日本語でプレイできます
PS時代の不便なところはチート級のお助け機能でほぼ解消されてます
移動や戦闘のテンポ、ロードの遅さが解消され自動セーブ機能がついたのは大きいです。
自動セーブ機能にエンカウントを一切なくす機能、移動速度上昇に攻撃威力を9999にする機能で
極悪難易度であったエクスカリバーⅡの取得すら温くなったことでしょう。
ここまでお助け機能がついてまともにプレイできるという事はPSの時のFF9がいかに酷かったのかと理解できます、ゲーム内容は久しぶりにプレイしましたが相変わらず攻略サイトありきのような内容
意図的に話の本筋の道を外れて寄り道をしないと取り逃がすようなアイテムや見逃すイベントが多すぎる上に取り返しがつかない要素が多すぎますね。
最終章まで行くと過去に行けた場所にはほとんど立ち寄れなくなるためショップで合成用のアイテムなどを買い損ねていると作れない装備に取得できないアビリティなどが平気で発生します。
主人公のジタンには相手の持ち物をぬすむという能力がありますがその盗める確率があまりにも低く戦闘のテンポが悪くなる、更にその確率の悪さを解消するアビリティを手に入れられるのは物語の終盤
カードゲームが8から大幅に劣化しています、ルールは複雑化しているうえに運ゲー要素が強く
いくら強いカードをそろえてもありえない弱いカードにひっくり返されることもざら
100種類あって100枚しか所持できない、カードゲームで成長する確率があまりにも低すぎ
コレクターポイントを上げるのに三角マークをダブらせない必要があるのに

Un chef-d’œuvre intemporel qui mérite d’être (re)découvert

Je viens de terminer Final Fantasy IX, jeu que je n'avais en vérité jamais terminé à l'époque, et honnêtement…, je comprends totalement pourquoi il est autant aimé. Après les épisodes plus futuristes comme Final Fantasy VII et Final Fantasy VIII, on retrouve ici l’ambiance médiévale-fantasy qui avait un peu disparu. Et ça fait vraiment plaisir.

L’univers est magnifique : très coloré, naïf au premier abord, grâce à la direction artistique et la colorimétrie affichée : contrairement aux tons plus froids ou réalistes des épisodes précédents, FFIX adopte une palette chaude, saturée, presque picturale. Cela renforce l’aspect conte de fées tout en donnant au monde une cohérence visuelle forte. Chaque scène donne l'impression de découvrir un nouveau tableau. Dès les premières heures, quand on démarre à Alexandrie, on ressent vraiment ce design enfantin. Mais derrière cette façade se cachent des thèmes étonnamment profonds : la quête d’identité, la peur de la mort, le sens de l’existence, la solitude… Le jeu aborde tout cela avec une vraie sensibilité et beaucoup de justesse. Plus l’aventure avance, plus le ton devient mature, sans jamais perdre son charme ni son identité visuelle.

Les personnages sont probablement le plus gros point fort du jeu. Ils sont tous attachants à leur manière, et leur évolution au fil de l’histoire est bien plus complexe qu’elle ne le laisse paraître au début. Les relations entre eux évoluent naturellement et gagnent en profondeur. Même les personnages secondaires ont droit à de véritables moments marquants. On sent que chaque membre de l’équipe a été écrit avec soin. Il y a des passages drôles, d’autres très émouvants…, et le jeu prend le temps de développer ses protagonistes sans précipitation. Cela est sûrement dû en partie au choix de la direction artistique, de la 3D temps réel, avec un bon style chibi complètement assumé.

Côté gameplay, on reste sur un système de combat au tour par tour classique avec l’ATB, et ça fonctionne toujours aussi bien. Le système de compétences liées à l’équipement est particulièrement intelligent : on apprend des capacités en portant des armes ou des armures, puis on peut les conserver définitivement une fois maîtrisées. Cela pousse à réfléchir à son équipement plutôt que de simplement choisir celui avec les meilleures statistiques. Ça apporte une vraie profondeur à la progression et donne envie d’expérimenter différentes combinaisons.

La bande-son est incroyable. Certaines musiques sont devenues iconiques et renforcent énormément l’ambiance, que ce soit dans les villes, pendant les combats ou lors des moments plus intimes. Même aujourd’hui, elle reste mémorable et contribue énormément à l’émotion que dégage le jeu. Les cinématiques sont impressionnantes, les invocations sont grandioses et c’est toujours un plaisir de les revoir. Ces cinématiques en images de synthèse représentent un vrai cap technique pour l’époque. Square maîtrisait déjà ce domaine, mais ici la mise en scène est plus fluide, plus intégrée au gameplay, avec des transitions souvent invisibles entre temps réel et pré-rendu. Les scènes d’invocation, en particulier, impressionnaient par leur mise en scène et leur ambition visuelle. Ce jeu est un exemple réussi d’optimisation artistique face aux contraintes techniques, où les limites matérielles ont été transformées en véritable force esthétique.

Bien sûr, tout n’est pas parfait : le rythme peut être un peu lent, surtout au début, et les combats aléatoires peuvent fatiguer sur la durée. À une époque où beaucoup de jeux ont abandonné ce système de rencontres aléatoires, il peut être difficile de s’y réhabituer. L’ATB n’est pas non plus le plus rapide de la série. Mais ces petits défauts n’entachent jamais réellement l’expérience globale.

Certains diront que c’est le meilleur épisode de la saga. Cela se discute. Pour ma part, j’ai adoré y jouer, même si ce n’est pas celui dans lequel je me suis le plus investi émotionnellement. Pourtant, c’est probablement l’univers que je préfère comparé à ceux de FFVII et FFVIII. D’ailleurs, j’aimerais en profiter pour redonner ses lettres de noblesse à ce Final Fantasy VIII, qui, à mon sens, n’est pas reconnu à sa juste valeur.

Au final, c’est un RPG qui a une véritable âme. Il ne mise pas sur le spectaculaire à outrance, mais sur ses personnages, son ambiance et son écriture. Et c’est précisément pour ça qu’il fonctionne encore aussi bien aujourd’hui.

Pour moi, c’est un incontournable à avoir dans sa ludothèque.

FFIX é um clássico do PS1, apenas joguem. O desenvolvimento dos personagens é o ponto alto do jogo e a história, apesar de relativamente simples, é bem satisfatória.

Moguri Mod é essencial e extremamente fácil de instalar, faz o jogo parecer um remaster, muito melhor do que qualquer coisa que a Square poderia oferecer. Além disso, esse e outros mods (quem tb podem ser instalados diretamente do Memoria Launcher) resolvem o problema do combate datado por ser extremamente simples.

This really is a wonderful piece of children's media. Judged by that standard, it is hard to argue it is not one of the finest in games. This is no Miyazaki ripoff. The Vivi subplot is inspired--touching, heartbreaking, strange. Zidane is somewhat of a disappointing male lead, but the ensemble is fabulous. Dagger in particular is a great character and the true protagonist of the story. Steiner's comic relief is, indeed, Shakespearean. Those four are the primary characters, and they are probably the best core four in any Final Fantasy. Eiko is fine as a foil to Dagger, though her role feels a bit shoehorned and unnecessary. Freya, Quina, and Amarant are non-entities, really. But that's okay. This is the sort of game that will change your life as a thirteen-year-old.

Ah I hate leaving a negative review for this, there are some great things about this game. The art style? Superb. The characters are likeable. The world is whimsical and interesting, the locations are memorable.

So what's the issue? Holy crap I hated the pacing of the combat system.

The characters you use only know like 1 or 2 moves for like 15 freaking hours, or at least that was my experience. I mean imagine if in pokemon games you only had the "Tackle" and "defensive curl" moves for 15 hours. Sounds boring, right? Well it is boring. Not to mention the trance system which you have absolutely no control over, it's clunky.

Now, would the combat have gotten more interesting if I kept playing? Maybe later, I'm sure it would. But 15 hours is just too much time to be waiting for the combat to get interesting. I'll probably return to this game later to give it another shot because there are so many things I like about it, and I'll be more than happy to update my review to positive if it improves. But as of this moment, the combat is just too damn dull.

I played it during a very difficult period in my life and used it as an escape. It holds up exceptionally well in this day and age, and with the use of the muguri mod runs incredibly. Strongly strongly recommend, my favorite in the series tied with FFX.

Fun story with amazing characters. Each character has great character development and has some arcs focused on it. I personally loved Vivi's journey.

I enjoyed the gameplay - simple but complex enough to strategize. It depends on the gear and abilities you have equipped. It is like the previous titles (turn-based with ATB bar). The difference is that abilities/spells are unlocked through equipment mastery. You can equip as many unlocked abilities as you can as long as it means the point threshold. That threshold is increased by leveling up characters. The key to not struggle is equipping the right abilities (e.g. equip Body Temp to negate heat/freeze).

Compared to FF7 or FF8, I do not like the minigames as much. Tetra Master is not as fun as Triple Triad.

Avaliação: Sensacional. Um clássico é um clássico, e quando os fãs criam um mod poderoso chamado Moguri Mod a experiência passa a ser atemporal. Mesmo depois de 25 anos, Final Fantasy IX consegue resistir muito bem ao tempo com uma história intrigante, personagens marcantes e trilha sonora empolgante. A gameplay de turnos da era PS1 era muito divertida.

Mesmo com uma campanha de 30 horas o jogo consegue se manter muito bem, pois ele é bem direto ao ponto e tem poucos momentos de enrolação.

Com o Moguri Mod os cenários são aprimorados com ajuda de IA e trabalho manual, acabando com o problema do trabalho porco que a Square Enix fez no relançamento do jogo para plataformas modernas.

Trance is an awfully designed mechanic, Tetra Master might be the worst card game ever designed, Chocobo Hot & Cold was needlessly annoying and Blue Magic felt like a chore to learn in this game.

Those nitpicks aside, this is probably my second favorite Final Fantasy game now. I was completely enamored with how charming and whimsical the world was, I fell in love with the characters (especially Vivi. We all love Vivi), I loved how Kuja didn't end up being a one-dimensional megalomaniac like Kefka and I was so invested in watching the story unfold into this cool tale of how life inherently has meaning, but that meaning is yours to define.

I feel out of the Golden Era™ of Final Fantasy (6-10), I hear about this one the least outside of it's diehard fanbase and that's so sad because 9 was a lovely game.

Also, Garnet and Zidane are easily one of the best romances in Final Fantasy. I know Tidus and Yuna exist, but these two are such a close second.

This was originally a homage to classic final fantasy games and was among the last games Squaresoft worked on. A lot of people prefer 7 and 8 but I consider this to be the best entry in the series by far. To the high fantasy setting to competent writing and characters. Eines der besten Final Fantasy mit zusammen des siebten Teils, Story ist unfassbar emotional und gleichzeitig zum Nachdenken genauso auch sehr traurig und man muss oft Lachen weil manche Character trollen so wie Quina, das beste ist aber jeder hat seine eigene kleine story die zum ganzen großen zusammengefügt wird wie ein Puzzle und am ende ein ganzes ergeben. Am ende wars etwas schwer und hat angezogen die schwierigkeit. Gutes Spiel wird in meiner Erinnerung bleiben, so wie das spiel es vermittelt.

Its age shows, but in spite of that it truly becomes an adventure worthy of immersing oneself into. The characters are very clearly flawed from the get-go, yet their progression through the story makes sense according to their personality and their experiences coming together. The character progression system could get tedious at times, what with having to switch out gear from character to character so everyone could learn all the abilities I wanted them to. That being said, it's definitely a classic that brought me back to playing Tactics games if only because of that little gameplay detail. The story is quite well-paced, with bits of relaxation and a sort of team building that only grows a bit fragmented, and then switching to a more intense section with lots of tension and action. All in all, it's an amazing experience from which the years accummulated don't detract.

Wonderful game. At its core its story really carries it, as a turn based RPG its fine, nothing too extreme. I do recommend getting the moguri mod to take away a lot of pain, especially when it comes down to the stealing with Zidane.

The story is beautiful, and it combines all the elements of Final Fantasy that really propel it forward to make it an iconic game and a classic in the series. Even if it seems to have a cutesy premise, the themes are very deep and mature, themes of identity, purpose, finding meaning in your life after traumatic events.

Play it and get that nice dose of escapism from the world.

[b]FINAL FANTASY IX[/b] é meu primeiro contato com a franquia. Sim, eu realmente demorei para jogar um jogo da franquia de JRPG mais famosa de todos os tempos, mas isso ocorreu em parte por não saber por qual título começar e que nenhum deles me chamava muito a atenção.

Tentei começar pelo primeiro [i]Final Fantasy[/i] (versão de celular) e dropei em menos de 30 minutos por achar a história muito meh e clichê, mesmo tendo em mente que o jogo era de 1987, e justamente por isso, visto que a SEGA lançaria [i]Phantasy Star[/i] apenas [i]dois dias depois[/i] no Japão, e que para mim tem uma história muito mais madura para a época, além de ser o melhor JRPG de 8 bits já criado na minha opinião.

Depois tentei jogar o [i]Final Fantasy IV (3D Remake)[/i], também pelo celular, mas joguei poucos minutos antes de dropar, porque a narrativa não me engajou.

Pensei então em jogar o remake do Final Fantasy VII, já que era algo mais moderno e que está “na moda” no momento. Mas aí descobri que o remake foi dividido em três jogos, dos quais apenas dois foram lançados no momento em que escrevo isso. Alguém poderia me dizer para jogar o Final Fantasy VII original do Playstation, que já tem a história completa, mas eu resolvi esperar pelo remake ser concluído.

Pesquisei muitos vídeos de sugestões e percebi que é muito difícil para os veteranos da franquia recomendarem um Final Fantasy pelo jogo em si, sem serem influenciados pela própria nostalgia.

Foi então que resolvi mudar a pergunta. Ao invés de pesquisar por qual Final Fantasy começar, resolvi descobrir qual o Final Fantasy favorito dessas mesmas pessoas. Pesquisei a opinião de YouTubers pequenos a grandes e de alguns amigos. Foi um filtro certeiro, pois reduziu a lista em três finalistas: o IX, o X e o XII, sendo o Final Fantasy IX o vencedor com um placar de goleada.

Então deixo abaixo a minha análise do jogo em si, isento de qualquer nostalgia, caso você também nunca tenha jogado nada da franquia.

[h2][i]Análise[/i][/h2]

[b]FINAL FANTASY IX[/b] é um JRPG originalmente lançado para o primeiro Playstation no ano 2000. Esta versão da Steam trata-se de um remaster feito em 2016, inicialmente para mobile e depois portado para o PC/PS4/XONE/Switch. Trata-se de um RPG de “turno ativo” (explico mais pra frente) com visão em terceira pessoa variada de acordo com o cenário. Você é Zidane, o[strike] jogador da seleção francesa[/strike] membro do grupo de ladrões Tantalus, que anualmente viajam para o reino de Alexandria para encenar uma peça de teatro. Porém, desta vez, seu grupo terá que sequestrar a princesa do reino, Garnet. O que seu grupo não esperava é que a princesa não está muito feliz com sua vida e também deseja fugir do reino.

Devo admitir que inicialmente a trama parecia bobinha e clichê, novamente seguindo os padrões da época. Contudo conforme ela se desenvolvia, subtramas começaram a ocorrer e a moldar a trama principal, e a história começou a ficar intrigante e inesperada, principalmente depois que o personagem [i]Vivi[/i] se une ao grupo. A partir do 2º [strike]capítulo[/strike] disco a narrativa começa a revelar suas primeiras reviravoltas. Da metade até o final é onde vem os combos de plot-twists característicos de JRPGs, todos imprevisíveis e plausíveis dentro da complexidade desenvolvida pela trama, pra chegar na reta final e você ficar bem... WTF?! [spoiler]Eu juro que vi menções honrosas a [i]Nier[/i] e [i]Tales of Arise[/i], exceto pelo fato desses jogos terem sido lançados muitos anos depois.[/spoiler] Devo admitir que o desfecho do jogo me comoveu, algo que eu realmente não esperava que este jogo seria capaz.

O jogo tem uma ambientação que mistura um mundo medieval e, ao mesmo tempo, futurista “steampunk”. Apenas os gráficos dos personagens, NPCs, mapa-mundi e das batalhas são 3D de fato, e são bem feitos para a época. Os personagens possuem movimentação e atuação em cutscenes que parecem terem sido feitas com captura de movimentos. Já seus cenários 2D são compostos por imagens ou vídeos em perspectiva. Então a cada lugar que você vai, o cenário muda, o ângulo da cãmera muda, o local do protagonista muda. Embora seja fácil de acontecer de você se perder porque não percebeu uma “saída” no cenário, logo você se acostuma a analisar seus padrões. Devo admitir que essa técnica de fazer o personagem andar sobre um FMV é muito bem aplicada e enriquece a ambientação, deixando bem melhor do que se fosse tudo com o 3D da época. Há uma custcene no final que mistura os dois – renderização e FMV – de uma maneira impressionante mesmo para os dias atuais.

As batalhas são de turno, mas é um turno diferente. É um recurso chamado de [i]Active Time Battle[/i], que é uma barra que cada personagem possui e que vai enchendo, te permitindo escolher uma ação para ele apenas quando ela estiver cheia. Só que os inimigos também possuem uma. O que muda na prática é que mesmo estando no seu turno, nada impede de você ser atacado pelo inimigo enquanto está no menu escolhendo a ação do personagem. É um jeito curioso de deixar uma batalha de turno mais dinâmica, mas que sinceramente eu não curti muito. O jogo deixa você “desabilitar”, mas na verdade ele só diminui a reação dos inimigos, te dando mais tempo para pensar.

A trilha sonora é bem competente considerando ser um jogo dos anos 2000. Não é a toa que essa franquia sempre é bem elogiada por sua música.

Minha única crítica vai para a navegação da interface, onde os submenus são bem ruins de navegar, como possuir vários slots vazios de magias não aprendidas, te obrigando a ficar descendo até chegar na magia que você aprendeu. Você não consegue organizar seu inventário por ordem alfabética ou pelos itens mais recentes, o que é um problema porque, como o jogo tem um sistema de sintetizar equipamentos a partir de outros, você não vai querer se desfazer de nenhum deles.

[h2][i]Você precisa usar o Memoria![/i][/h2]

Para você ter a melhor experiência possível com este jogo nos dias de hoje, eu recomendo [b]MUITO[/b] que você instale apenas um único Mod chamado [url=https://github.com/Albeoris/Memoria][b]Memoria[/b][/url]. Na verdade ele é mais que um Mod, ele substitui o Launcher original do jogo por um novo completamente cheio de recursos úteis para você configurar, além de aplicar as suas próprias melhorias de QoL. Não só isso, mas ele também é um gerenciador de mods extremamente prático, um dos melhores que eu já vi. Então você não precisa ir em sites de mods se quiser usar algum porque provavelmente eles estarão disponíveis dentro do Memoria para você escolher, dentre os quais eu recomendo:

Agora eu compreendo por que o Final Fantasy IX é o favorito de muitos. Considerando a época em que ele foi feito e tudo o que ele entrega, de fato é um JRPG decente, e que provavelmente pavimentou o estilo de narrativa de muitos JRPGs da atualidade. Se você nunca jogou um Final Fantasy, pode começar com este. Não deixe seus aspectos datados interferirem no seu julgamento e só joga. Você terá uma jornada bem divertida e emocionante. Pode comprá-lo no preço cheio visto que ele te entrega fácil 50+ horas de jogo.

that was a great one. never played it back in the day despite loving a lot of the early FF games. played it with the memoria/moguri mods as was suggested in many of the reviews and that was awesome. really helped modernize stuff here and there.

No nostalgia bias here. I think the game is great. Some characters might not have as big development as the protagonist but i love them all regardless. The jumping rope mini game is hell on earth.
