While attempting to make an escape from a brutal assault that’s devastated their homeland of Rughzenahide, Princess Selphine and her Royal Guard Ritona mysteriously teleport to an unknown forest surrounded by vegetation not native to the surroundings of Rughzenahdie. The atmosphere is thick and heavy and no sign of life can be found, which is particularly unusual for such a lush forest. Sign of life isn't the only thing missing though. Something is odd about this land - something is amiss - but Selphine and Ritona are too startled to notice the obvious.

This feels more like a novel than a visual novel, to be honest. I'm already tired of hearing the same music and seeing the same CGs, and I'm only at chapter 5. There is no voice acting either.

The story isn't really bad, but it's not what was sold to me in the description. I expected an immersive journey with nice CGs to go along with it, or to see whatever “3D camera technique” they were talking about. Instead, I ended up with an investigation in a “normal” city, which isn’t very exciting for a fantasy setting, and the CGs themselves feel pretty standard.

Honestly, it feels like the fantasy setting doesn’t really matter and is mostly used as an excuse to force situations that move the story forward. A teleportation to start the story and impose a deadline, that’s basically it.

Also, the game doesn’t have Steam Cloud support, so I can’t play it on my Steam Deck. I can’t even stream it from my PC because the game doesn’t let me lock the framerate to 30 FPS. It’s stuck at 144 FPS, which is way too high for streaming.

A cozy novel set under the fantasy setting, with hints at magic and the existence of mana.

There isn't enough room for much of character developments due to its length and the amount of appearing characters, but most of them are set in stone as they're just well for the reader to relate to at times and enjoy reading about.
From what I've gathered in those three hours of reading as of late, it's a usual storytelling, from time to time from Ritona's perspective.

The music is fairly well chosen.
I can't however claim to have felt all that immersed, but on the other hand I did enjoy reading it lately about the same as I've enjoyed it during my first introduction to fault about five years ago.
The notes fit, offering a neat and relaxing yet sometimes challenging themes for the reader to listen to.
It does fit the plot.

And as I've just mentioned the plot, it is as simple as it sounds.
Because I wouldn't wish to reveal spoilers, reading what's in the descriptions shall present a decent idea for what's going on during this novel. I've thought of it as a life changing adventure for the couple of protagonists.
Most of the novel does revolve around the exploration of the unknown, and I haven't felt particularly emotional during the whole time, except at the end where it hits fairly hard, yet for very simple stuff.

I guess, it means that my opinion didn't change after all those years.
I'd still recommend this novel to pretty much everyone, who's looking for a novel set under the fantasy theme, although the length is one of its main weaknesses.

- For those who noticed, I've also found myself taken aback by how short this review of mine came out, but that's simply because there's not much to say.. Or maybe rather, I don't know how to express it well enough without revealing the spoilers. Whoops.

Going into fault - milestone one, I had to reset my expectations about what “playing a game” actually meant. This isn’t a system heavy RPG or some branching narrative playground where every choice sends the story spiraling somewhere new. It is a kinetic visual novel. You read, you click forward, and you let the story unfold. Normally that kind of experience can feel passive to me, but there was something about the opening hours that pulled me in anyway. Maybe it was the sincerity of it all. Maybe it was the way the characters talk to each other like real people rather than exposition machines.

The story drops you into chaos almost immediately. Princess Selphine and her royal protector Ritona are forced to flee their kingdom during a sudden attack and end up stranded in an unfamiliar land. That premise sounds simple on paper, but the emotional hook for me was the relationship between those two characters. Selphine is hopeful, curious, almost painfully kind. Ritona is the exact opposite. She is tense, suspicious of everyone, and constantly trying to keep Selphine safe in a world neither of them understands. There is a moment early on where Selphine stops to admire the city they have landed in while Ritona is practically scanning every corner like a bodyguard expecting a knife to come flying out of the shadows. That contrast between wonder and paranoia makes their dynamic work.

What surprised me the most was how much time the game spends building its world. The idea that magic powered their homeland while this new place runs on science and technology is genuinely interesting. You see it in small ways. Characters casually reference machines and infrastructure that completely confuse Ritona, who grew up relying on magic systems instead. There is a scene where the characters are trying to understand a train system and it almost feels like two different civilizations colliding. It is the kind of world building that makes you curious about how these cultures would react if they fully collided.

That said, I would be lying if I said the pacing always worked for me. There are stretches where the game leans heavily into exposition. Long dialogue sequences explaining systems, politics, and terminology. When the writing hits emotionally, it works really well. When it drifts too far into explanation mode, it starts to feel like reading a lore wiki instead of experiencing a story. And because there are almost no choices to make, you cannot really steer the experience. You are along for the ride whether the pacing works for you or not.

But here is the thing. Even with those frustrations, I walked away from fault - milestone one feeling like I had experienced the first chapter of something ambitious. The art style has personality. The soundtrack quietly does its job during emotional moments. And Selphine and Ritona are characters I genuinely wanted to keep following. It feels less like a complete story and more like the opening act of a much larger fantasy saga. If you go in expecting deep gameplay you will probably bounce off it quickly. But if you are willing to sit down with it like a book and let the characters and world slowly unfold, there is enough heart here to make the journey worthwhile.

Вот и Fault: Milestone one, это такая конфетка, которую ты нашёл где-то на дне сладкого подарка на Новый год. Мелочь, но до чего же приятно!
Проработка мира завораживает, спрайты приятны глазу, история развивается в своём, не слишком медленном темпе. Это невероятно занимательная новелла.
Но как и любая вкусная конфеты, ты не успеваешь ей насладится вдоволь, раз и она уже закончилась, вот и с Fault так же, как только ты вошёл во вкус истории персонажа, игра выдает тебе "Клифхенгер"

Обязательно прочитаю первую часть Milestone two и буду молится на выходи продолжения...

I've played the demo before deciding to purchase this game, and I found myself really enjoying the novel. After picking up where I last left the demo, I found that a lot of the story is told through flashbacks, but regardless, this sets up for world-building potential. I don't mind this and I'm sure that this is the stepping stone for the second episode.

I'm late to the series and sadly, the third game as of writing this review in 2025/11/13 has not been released yet.

I loved reading this story line. The story incorporates magic, science, philosophy, politics and fantasy in one world. These five attributes in this game are what contributed to my immersion as a reader, and it manages to blend these subjects in a way that is captivating and emotional at the same time. Furthermore, they've nailed the fighting CGs and art in this game; there's nothing more to say past that.

The negatives I've got to point out are that this game ends on a cliffhanger, is quite short for a VN and production time is, unfortunately abysmal.

That being said, with how cheap this game is - the price is definitely worth it and I can't wait to play the next subsequent games. I'll definitely take a look at the next upcoming title for this franchise.

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!
It's an episodic project each one 6h long. While the story seems interesting the dev pretty much abandoned it altogether. They're focused now on making side stories or prologues while not having finished the main story. And it's been over 12 years now. And even now, as of this moment I'm writing they stil claim on their site to be releasing new episode every 6 months or so. Moreover, during making the next episode of prologue, they decided to scrap it just 2 weeks before the promised date of release, and remake it in an entirely different genre - 3d action game, most likely to string any remaining patron along.
Honestly it breaks my heart because the art and the story are so intriguing and lovable. I didn't even miss the voice acting. Alas it all went belly up.
All in all - my honest advice - don't give the devs any money. They clearly don't seem to intend to finish their project.

This is one of my very first experiences with visual novels. So keep that in mind. Although I have enjoyed anime for a long time I never really have visual novels and chance and this definitely kept me turning the page (clicking the button?)

Overall I definitely did have problems at first with how they were displaying mental health especially in such a young child. But I think by the end they did some work to address this and not put all the blame on said child

Overall this story has an interesting fantasy world with fun world building and disturbing concepts. A lot of the characters are very young and shown commiting violet acts on other people or eachother. If that doesn't bother you it's definitely worth the read

The themes all focus on mortality, morality, emotions and sense of self. Some themes of nature vs nurture. If we can be redeemed for our past actions (especially if we are young with less of a sense of right an wrong.) I'll probably continue reading more from the developers when I have the time.

This is a kinetic novel: no choices (except maybe one which is inconsequential) or gameplay so be aware of that if you're curious. The worldbuilding is pretty interesting. I can't recommend it overall because this is clearly a (very) small part in a larger overarching story, and that story will probably never be close to being finished. This came out 12 years ago and since then we've only seen one sequel and side story. As a standalone story it's fine, but nothing special.

At most, an okay game with some potential (as it seems to be the first episode of its series)? The art style looks quite amateurish, and the story-line jumps around too much, making it feel like some scenes might have been cut due to budget constraints or similar reasons. The BGM is... sometimes it barely matches the plot, while other times it just plays or stops abruptly without any connection to what is actually happening in the story. Honestly, it might be better to just mute the sound... The female lead.... she has such a weak presence that it hardly makes a difference whether she's in the story or not. In fact, if, instead, the third female character were made the protagonist, the story might actually have a stronger sense of purpose and be more coherent.

Recommend as it was a gift from my friends, and it offers trading cards and steam achievements... but won't suggest buying without a decent discount.

日语英语通关的成就在结尾存个档，切个语言读档再通就可以解锁了，顺便吐槽一下那个看CG2小时的隐藏成就是什么玩意，太逆天了，难以想象设计成就者的精神状态；
关于看50次以上换装场景，要在剧情中看，在第二章，从哈兹万说给做衣服到下一幕看见腿的时候算一次，可以用鼠标滚轮在这两段对话中来回滑就能解锁，然后，回去看cg，发现cg里只出现了上半身，下半身的腿藏起来了！太可恶了！

Cuando vi que este juego contaba con idioma español con eso gano un punto ya que casi todos los juegos sobre novelas visuales solo estan en ingles, a pesar de que no tienen voces saben contar y expresar bien los dialogos y la historia sin necesidad de voces las dos protagonistas son muy interesantes y bonitas y la historia del mundo y sus leyes y su villano me gusto bastante, sobretodo ese final que esta epico.

Fault follows the story of Princess Selphine and her royal guardian, Ritona, starting from the night their kingdom is attacked by a cast of interesting characters. While we don't get too much information about Melano and her friends who caused this ambush in milestone one, we instead learn more of the lore of Selphine and Ritona, uses of sediment and mana, how the polar geographic regions differ from one another, and about a mysterious young girl named Sara/Rune and her family's dark secrets. I haven't played many virtual novels and have only played through this game (part one of the overall story) so far, but this is by far the best VN I've played as far as storytelling keeping me engaged. 7/10

This is one story I continue to revisit many times because of its ethereal atmosphere and magical world with archetypal characters. It’s around a 7-hour kinetic novel (no choices), so for people who want to sit back and relax to enjoy a new story and see where the characters go, this is perfect. Since this is the developers’ first title, it does contain some convoluted science-fiction towards the end (and feels quite shoe-horned), but for most of the story, the writing is quite simple and easy to understand, and may be clichéd at times with a few awkward moments of dialogue (a dozen or so instances). If you stick through the whole of it, however, the climax gives an enormous emotional payoff.

One thing to know before buying is if you would be interested in continuing the story because there is a cliffhanger at the end. This is a complete arc, but if you want a complete story, then you’ll have to get the sequels. If you want to get a taste of their style of storytelling, you can get their other cheaper title--[u]Mhakna Gramura and Fairy Bell[/u], which is a quick 1-2 hour read with a full story arc and equivalent highs on the climax. If you don't mind the cliffhanger (I have been waiting for the 3rd installment of the fault series for years now), then feel free to buy it if you're the type to enjoy feeling the emotions of the story. Compared to majority of English novels around the same price (or more!) that have questionable execution, AiD, so far, have not dropped their quality in terms of writing a good emotional climax in all of their existing titles as of this review.

It’s difficult to find good stories, and this is one where I personally trust the storytelling capabilities of the team and don’t mind if they take their time to get it right. Many stories don’t have a climax, and so far, AiD has not missed in this department.

推之前：公主和侍从，挺经典的配置啊；推之后：什么家庭伦理剧，给我干哪儿来了？从详尽得过了头，甚至还有设定辞典的世界观来看，本作还是很有讲大型故事的野心的。不过就本作来看，实际上一大半的笔墨用在了露恩的相关剧情上，这使得它的观感上更像是为了交代前情提要和凑齐主角团的第三个人的序章。虽说2.1已经推出很久，2.2看起来遥遥无期，本作还是有做出优秀系列的潜质的，总之可以期待一下后续的章节。

So the fault series is a game that is dear to my heart. While my hours don't reflect it, I've played this game and its sequels on other platforms multiple times. The world of fault is amazingly well set-up with the setting for the entire story being fantastic. Its one of the few unvoiced visual novels I've read to completion with a a great set of soundtracks, characters and overall story being great. The story is really intriguing right from the get-go we're sent straight into the middle of the action, we really get to understand the stakes of the story straight away. Following this, we are set up with a really intriguing premise where I felt just as engaged as the MCs in their setting. There are a number of super badass moments and the characters dynamics with each other and others are really nice to see. It also tugs at your heartstrings alot with its stories making it super well-written.

Overall, If you want a story with a strong setting, great characters and a intriguing and emotional story, the fault series is fantastic! I will say the greatest weakness of this series though is the hecking release schedule. There was a 7 year gap between the second and third game. These games also tend to be on the shorter side too where while i dont have the exact amount of time, I was able to complete each of the games in a single day. So waiting for more can be quite stressful but I guess if anything though it shows how enjoyable the series is with how much I can't wait to read and experience more of it.

一部剧情架构算不上优秀但是还算有趣的公主复国公路片，缺点很多，叙事扁平，节奏慢，似乎想写群像，但实际视角又不够多，人物性格也很刻板化，让我眼前一亮的是Rune的哥哥，其他的暂时看不到什么人物弧光，剧情文本体量也不算大，最后还结束得有些突兀。音乐很加分，立绘有些地方实在是有点敷衍了。推荐打折入，可惜没有中评。

Mostly, I enjoyed my time but it became apparent very quickly that the devs were still inexperienced when they made this.

Animations and sprites are few and far inbetween, music loops into infinity, few tracks are worth mentioning, the UI is bugged to hell.

And there is a single choice in the game that literally doesn't matter.

Nontheless, the story was fascinating and went into a direction that I hadn't expected, busying itself with the question of humanity.

Not worth 15 Euros though. Get it on a discount.

Абсолютный шедевр, это мое самое любимое произведение в принципе, вне зависимости от формы искусства.
Покупал этот шедевр еще на ps4 pro, и прошел с превеликим удовольствием, и вот решил купить и на пк, это самое малое, что я могу сделать для разрабов данного шедевра, вторую я также прошел на пк еще 2 года назад (ее я люблю даже больше), что уж говорить, если пк я брал чисто из за этой визуалки, те 1200 евро, которые я потратил на покупку пк, просто мелочь, по сравнению с теми эмоциями, что я получил.
Единственное, что я хотел бы от разрабов, так это перевод на русский язык в spin offs и в 3й части Fault, и также в последующих частях Fault milestone.
Разработчики, если вы это читаете, то знайте, что очень много русскоязычных фанатов безумно хотят перевод, это будет настоящим праздником для всех русскоязычных фанатов ваших шедевров.

只能说Steam没有中评确实是一件令人遗憾的事，这款VN我真的就只想给个“中等评价”。
个人感觉下来最大的问题：这整部作品的主线剧情到底在哪里，又有多少？
我知道这是一个系列作品，第一部只能说是引入，重要剧情不多可以理解，但是这整个第一部纵观下来的内容就只是“一个新伙伴加入了你的队伍”，附加一些歪比巴卜的魔法科技云云的设定轰炸。
加之剧情上也没有令人意外的发展（如果你把很刻意地用于留下悬念的结尾排除的话），一切都相对平淡无奇……总结下来，有点无聊。
我原以为至少是王道系复国剧，却看了这些时间的伦理剧，只能说偏离期望了。
我想作为10年前的游戏，放在今天的情况下评判或多或少不太公正，所以说：如果你不介意拿这来消磨时间，那确实也不至于差评

If nothing else, this is proof that it's possible to write a story where nothing happens.

There's nothing overtly awful about fault - milestone one, but it may be one of the best examples of how not telling rather than showing can dull a story. Besides its first quarter, a majority of the game is exposition endlessly dumped in service of a story that the ostensible main characters aren't even involved in. Then, magically (yes, literally, but also in regard to how the story is constructed), the characters of this tangential story have all of their problems fixed; it's an extraordinarily unsatisfying conclusion, especially so since it makes all of the excruciating exposition that led up to feel like it was for naught. Even when Selphine and Ritona are present in the story, their dialogue feels unnatural; they often stop and talk in a way that feels like their zooming out of their story and looking at it from above in order to deliver some heavy-handed moral lesson about the events they just experienced.

That's not to say that there's no merits to fault—the tangential story could be quite good if the writing was more engaging—but it's hard to come away from it feeling like it told an interesting story because of the tiresome way that it's written. I just hope that milestone two is better.

有点难评。
先说故事，本身还不错，但是前7章都是铺垫，精华全在结尾第8章，引出了对ai、人性、灵魂的思考，作为10年前的老游戏到现在看这个命题仍然觉得有可读之处。
之所以不推荐购买，主要原因是，这是一个系列，这一作只是一个小小支线，真正的主线一点都没有展开（顺便已经出了的15年的第二作也只是一个支线和小展开，故事没完，本来说要17年出的第三作跳票到现在都没出，也就是个大坑，到现在都没有填上的那种）为了这么点前菜真是有点不值得……

На самом деле впечатления от игры у меня неоднозначные. Рецензия скорее нейтралная, но таких в стиме нет.

Начало было довольно странным. то не особо важные сцены, то музыка ну совсем не подходила. Думал, может залагало, но нет. Много было каких то "уф", "ум" и им подобным слов, что тоже смотрелось как то нелепо.

Но чем дальше, тем лучше. Не могу сказать, что игра после пролога стала прям шедевром. Все "научное фентези" по большей части здесь упирается в замену технологий использующих электричество на технологии использующие ману. Научное обьяснение же сути того чем мана является вы не получите. Тем не менее у этого есть какой то шарм. Хотя не могу не отметить, что история в целом без учета контекста "научного фентези" является довольно заезженной. Порадовали дизайны персонажей, но увы, в основном это относится только к двум гг. Все же не могу оставить положительный отзыв, так как явного позитива от игры не получил.

Как произведение на вечерок, наверное, сойдет. Проходится за 5 часов. Но многого ожидать не стоит.

Fault - Milestone One is a visual novel where you play as Ritona Reighnvhasta, the royal guardian of the princess of the Kingdom of Rughzenhaide, Selphine Rughzenhaide. Disregarding all the German-like names, you're introduced to the world that these characters live in and their respective magic system.

The story starts off with a bang. You're given an overview of the world, how it functions, its history, its magic system, and more. It isn't overwhelming, but it is enough for you to understand various story points that are shown later. Talking about the later shown story points, we are introduced to one of the combatants in what seems to be a coup against the Kingdom of Rughzenhaide. Without spoiling anything major, I'd say that the opening of the game is VERY jarring compared to the rest of the game due to the content and all the information dumped onto you. It's to the point that you even wonder why they included it. However, due to this being a prologue, the choice is likely due to this. It also effectively makes you feel as lost as the main characters, so that's also a nice bit of immersion, even if it may be unintentional.

Also, as with any good visual novel, this game has wonderful characters. The main two heroines are a nice dynamic of different personalities that mesh well together. The side characters also greatly add to the overall story and the development of the main characters.

The graphics and sound design are also pretty darn good. The graphics make use of frame changes and facial expression shifts but don't have anything you can really call animation. However, this isn't a bad thing, as the art is drawn in a way that is fairly unique to the game while also having various aspects that can be seen in other similar forms of media. The U.I. for the game is also stylized in a way that suits the theme. As for the music, it's very fitting for its respective scenes. It isn't anything I would listen to outside of the game, but I don't find it unpleasant to listen to, even after the 30th loop or so.

Overall, I think this game is pretty good, and I would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of visual novels! This was a great setup for the characters and the world, so I'm looking forward to playing the next entry sometime soon :)

(P.S. Despite what I said about the music, the main menu theme is really nice to listen to)

Fate для очень, очень, ОЧЕНЬ бедных - вообще ничего не имущих. Не считая 5к тенге разумеется на игру и допник. Что так то 5 литров кумыса. Нахожу важным так же отметить, что игра сделана по заветам древних сионских мудрецов, как следствие весь бюджет анимации ушел на первые 2 часа геймплея. Бюджета на сценарий вообще не было. Как я уже говорил, это низкопробный фанфик по вселенной fate с незначительными изменениями (не в лучшую сторону).
Видит Шинигами, за много лет просмотра аниме мой пищевод прекрасно адаптировался к вторичной копрофагии, однако играть в это попросту скучно. Куча диалогов, закадровых пояснений квантовой нестабильности параллельных измерений и прочего литературного шлака, нацеленного на растягивания обыкновенной travel story.
Если вы устали перепроходить доки доки в 10 раз. Можете убить пару вечеров. Но в действительности мне сложно представить человека, которому я бы мог ее посоветовать.

I totally agree with most other reviews I've read.

Pros :
- story is captivating, world-building is well-made
- beautiful art
- cool music, I let it on the whole time
- the idea behind the hidden achievements is somewhat funny

Cons :
- 15€ for less than 5 hours
- minor bugs and spelling mistakes
- characters are quite naive during the first few minutes, can be off-putting
- only one meaningless choice

I really enjoyed the experience. Though, once you get to the end of fault - milestone one, you just want more of it because in the grand scheme of things, milestone one is just really the prologue of it all. Unfortunately, in 10 years, this serie hasn't been the most prolific.

所以牺牲Rune，是必要的吧。
毕竟她是个施虐狂。
但是这样的话，太可怜了。
所以，我们干脆让Rune，复活吧。
让Rune能够像正常人一样生活，
让Rune变得比现在更好。
这个新的Rune，叫Sara。
Sara，就是人造人Rune的代号。

本文主要立足于心理分析角度，探讨究竟应该如何看待Rune和Sara之间的转变。

责任与逃避责任
对于生下Rune的父母来说，他们背负的是一个无法去想象的责任。生下一个天生是施虐狂的女儿，从那一刻起，注定了一切的改变。这里的天生，指的是生理上的无法弥补的空缺，内心的缺失在出生的一刻就已经决定了，无法被治愈。所以，Rune并不像通常的罪犯那样是由于童年的创伤形成的应激行为或自我保护意识等等所导致的犯罪动机。Rune是一个天生的施虐狂，她并有受过他人任何不良的待遇，不仅拥有一对通情达理的父母，还有一个会时刻照顾他的哥哥，与此同时，她还出身显赫，其童年之富足都是他人可望而不可及的，而正因为此，她没有任何像其他罪犯那样有值得同情的地方，并且她在犯罪时内心也几乎是平静的，没有任何负罪感和愧疚感，她只让人单纯地感到绝望和恐惧，她，Rudo说，就是一个恶魔。
面对这种迎面而来的诅咒，Rune的父母选择视而不见。他们假装自己的女儿是一个正常人，用对待正常女儿的口吻去和她说话，去教育她，但其实他们的内心深处早已知道一切都无法挽回，但这种绝望绝非一般人所能轻易接受，于是就这样被深深地被埋藏起来。导致的结果，毫无疑问，就是Rune的杀戮。由于Rune还是个小女孩，因此仅仅只是戳瞎了邻居家孩子的一只眼睛，而Rune的生命也几乎在童年的时候就终止了，人们始终无法想象，如果Rune长大成人的话，将会给这个世界带来多少的灾难。
这是 Eline临死前对Cid说的话：
虽然发生了很多事……
能和你相遇，真好。
能生下Rudo，真好。
还有……虽然世界可能会无法原谅……
能生下Rune，真好。
能活着，真好。
我爱你……Cid……

我承认，这段话在我玩的时候确实很感人，也没觉得有什么不对的。但在真正地理解剧情的内容的时候，我却又觉得，这段话，恰恰表明了一种更深的绝望，一种无法被直视的痛苦。对于Rune的父母来说，直到最后，逃避也只是唯一的办法。

Rune为什么必须死
如果你仔细思考一下，就会发现，这个作品极力想回避的一个地方，就是对于Rune的人格的进一步叙述。尽管其对于Rune的暴力人格的叙述已经十分具有张力，但却始终不敢将其延展到一个更高的层次，而将Rune的悲剧止步于童年。也只有这样才能达成最终的Good End，但却无法将Rune这个人物形象真正的剖析完整。Rune死前给Rudo留下了一句遗言，大体的意思就是，活着根本就没有意思，我要去死了。
这里，我有一个很大的疑问，而这种疑问，又渐渐引导我对Rune性格上的更深一步的认识。如果你们也去玩过游戏的话应该能感受到，那就是---Rune的高智商。这点绝对是被广大玩家所忽略的内容，因为Rune的性格成分实在是太强烈了，玩家早就被那一个个暴力的画面给洗脑了，以至于忽视了Rune作为一个有自我意识的人的存在。但这里就很矛盾了不是吗？Rune有着天生的生理缺陷，但却有着自我意识，然而这也就是Rune性格形成的真正原因。她并不是为了作恶而作恶，她也像所有人一样，行为也是由自我意识所驱动的，所以，她的每个行为，都是有意识的，刻意的行为。
并且，像“活着没什么意思，我要去死了”这种话，很显然，是站在哥哥Rudo的角度上来说的。这里可能会出现一个理解上的困难，因此我要详细解释一下这个问题。首先，我们知道了Rune目前的这个性格特征，那么自然而然的，我们会发现她的这种性格特征所代表的，是自我中心化的结果，所以从理论上来说，她是不会去优先考虑他人的感受的。但是在她给哥哥的遗言中可以看出，如果她是一个极度自我中心的话的人，那根本就不会留下任何遗言，甚至可能连话都不愿意说，更可能的是，她会始终以杀害生命作为存在的唯一方式而活着。但是事实上却并不是这样的，Rune不但给哥哥留下了遗言，并且她还会对她的哥哥说一些相当有文学水平的话 “Seeing the hideous twitching and spasming; the unsightly way something clings to life so desperately; the very moment something turns into a mere lump of flesh... It truly resonates with the emptiness inside me.” 这是哥哥第一次发现Rune在树林里杀害小动物时，Rune说的原话（英文版见谅），大致上证明了Rune是具有情感表达能力的，并且这个能力还意外地强。游戏中Rune也不乏有大段的台词，尽管内容上都是在表达其内心的空虚，但足以证明Rune的一个具有自我意识的，完整的人，因此她的人格也应该是完整的，而她的智商，应该也是处于相当高的水平，才能支撑起这一段一段的具有深度的对话。并且，还需提到的一点是，Rune并不是每时每刻都处于癫狂状态的，恰恰相反，大多数时候，Rune表现地非常地乖巧，但这种乖巧，仍然被大多数人所排斥，他们说这是一种"生物学意义上的无法接受"，他们的直觉告诉他们，这个女孩身上有一种非人类的生命力，但是真正了解这一切的只有她的哥哥Rudo，Rudo之所以恨妹妹，是因为他知道，Rune什么都明白，明白自己行为的不端，也明白他人对她的恨意，却刻意选择了将一切的一切无辜的生命，都带入虚无的深渊中，并以此为乐。

俗话说，编剧要臣死，臣不得不死。活着的Rune将直接把这个游戏从一个讲述友情和亲情美好的故事直接变为猎奇的、阴暗的、反社会的致郁游戏。所以说，Rune为什么必须死，这个道理也就很清楚了。我知道有些玩家非常同情Rune的遭遇，但是要想清楚的是，Rune的存在和Good End永远是相互排斥的存在，两者取一必须有所牺牲。

爱的相对性，Rune作为Sara的存在
为了让这个故事不至于这么压抑，Rune又以Sara的身份再次出现在玩家面前。Sara是人造人Rune的代号，排除了生前Rune的病娇体性，Sara拥有一些较为理想化的健全人格，玩家最早看到的便已经是这个被改造过的人造人了。以Selphine和Ritona为观察视角的玩家从来就没有见过真正的Rune，这也在一定程度上减轻了游戏的致郁性，由此保证了主角二人的天真活泼的品质，对于死前Rune的故事也是通过一种叫做"Mind Dive"的魔法从他人身上得知的。所以说，玩家从根本上来说对这整个事件就是一个局外人，而所有的对Rune的同情都是相对于Sara身上的品质而产生的。如果玩家先看到的是Rune而不是Sara会怎么样呢？整个事件中最有资格评价Rune的人是Rudo，他也是最有资格对Sara发表看法的人，但他依然无法接受Sara，内心深处的对于自己妹妹的恐惧始终无法消解。而由于主角二人并没有对真实的Rune产生过直观的认识，所以她们所占的立场，很显然的，是同情Sara，并且希望Rudo接受Sara作为他妹妹的存在。Rudo作为局内人而主角二人作为局外人产生出的是两种完全不同的看法，这就引申出了另外一个思考----爱的相对性。爱是什么，应该建立在什么样的基础上？我给出的答案是，爱是建立在社会伦理之上的，即只存在于相对的爱，而不存在高于社会伦理的绝对的爱。Rudo给Rune的爱，是相对的爱，当Rune突破了社会伦理的道德局限的时候，这种爱就不能再度存在，是双双走向灭亡的爱，还是保留自我的爱，Rudo选择了后者，这也是我们大多数人会做的选择。爱最高不过亲情，可是在现实的残酷下却也显得那样乏力。

Short but nice VN (around 4-5 hours). It is Cinetic Novel - so choices change nothing, it is just story being told.

I have a feeling that parts 1 to 3 must be played as one game, as first and second games are ending abruptly and third game is not yet released to say for sure.

Minus - no voice acting, but music is good.
Also I'd wish to see more stuff that is being talked about, as they came from magic kingdom into more tech-savvy kingdom, but nothing is show - only talked about.

First of all, I must recognize that the story presents the creation of its own world carefully, the characters follow a smooth flow within the story, without rushing the rhythm, which I liked. Cliché? You see, they’re used for a reason, it’s effective.

Plus, the art in general is beautiful, but I dare to say that the text boxes aesthetics have diminished their quality.

Anyway, this isn’t a visual novel like the good old classics, so don’t expect anything above average.

Personally I was very excited cause we are talking about a visual novel with traces of sci-fi and fantasy ewheheheheheh ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و ♡

In conclusion, my experience was simple and captivating in the right measure. However, I must apologize, cause I'm far from being a demanding person or giving technical details (─‿‿─)
