[h1] Story [/h1] Wir spielen den gejagten & verhassten Söldner Gauly. Alle sind hinter uns her und wollen und hängen sehen aber eines Tages bekommen wir von dem Oberhaupt der Kirche einen Auftrag. Hierbei geht es um das Eskortieren & Beschützen einer jungen Maid der Kirche die enorme Magische Kräfte haben soll. Wir nehmen an aber schon bald geraten wir in einem Krieg zwischen mehreren Fraktionen und auch unsere Vergangenheit holt uns immer wieder ein
[h1] Gameplay [/h1] Es spielt sich wie ein klassisches JRPG im RPGMaker. Wir reisen von Stadt zu Stadt und von Dungeon zu Dungeon bis wir unser Hauptziel erreichen. Natürlich bekommen wir nach und nach weitere Gefährten dazu. Man kann hier mit bis zu 3 Charakteren gleichzeitig kämpfen aber man kann diese Außerhalb von Kämpfen jederzeit austuschen. Passive Charaktere leveln dennoch mit, was ich sehr angenehm finde. Natürlich haben wir die übliche Klassen Verteilung bestehen aus Krieger, Magier, Heiler usw. Die Kämpfe sind hier wie so oft Zufalls basierend. Bosse fand ich sehr gut gelungen und haben Spaß gemacht. Es gibt auch Nebenquests zu erledigen aber diese sind recht kryptisch zu finden bzw. zu erledigen weil man keine Quest Log hat. Mit Hilfe eines Guides war es dann aber recht einfach, von allein würde man gar nicht darauf kommen teilweise. Auch in der Haupt Handlung gibt es einige Momente wo man gar nicht weiß wo man als nächstes hin soll. Der Endboss war auch nicht grad einfach und definitiv unnötig Overpowered, wenn man nicht genug gelevelt und die richtigen Verteidigungs Items ausgerüstet hat. Es gibt auch einige Übersetzungs Fehler in den Texten aber ich fand diese nicht weiter Wild. Die Story fand ich im allgemeinen überraschend gut gelungen, es gibt viele Twists was ich immer gut finde. Musik & Animationen sind RPGMaker generisch. Einige der Sprites sind aber definitiv selbst gemacht
[h1] Achievement Schwierigkeit 5/10 [/h1] Es gibt insgesamt 17 Erfolge. Hierfür muss man das Spiel beenden, 2 Optionale Bosse besiegen, 5000 Gold besitzen, 10 Stunden spielen, 50km laufen & 50 mal speichern. Insgesamt alles an sich gut machbar und das meiste bekommt man automatisch. Schwierigkeiten kann es definitiv beim Endboss & eventuell bei den beiden Optionalen Bossen geben wenn man unterlevelt ist & nicht die richtige Strategie & Ausrüstung nutzt

[h1] Fazit [/h1] Eines der definitiv bessere JRPGs im RPGMaker. Die Story hat mich wirklich gut gefesselt und es gab neben der Hauptquest auch einiges zu tun. Die Charaktere haben mir gut gefallen und bei der Spiellänge hatten diese auch ihre Moment, damit man deren Hinter & Beweggründe besser verstehen konnte, dies kommt ja sehr oft viel zu kurz. Auch die einzelnen Boss Kämpfe haben mir sehr gut gefallen. Man hätte hier aber definitiv eine Quest Log einfügen sollen, weil man des öfteren echt nicht weiß wo man als nächstes hin soll um die Handlung weiter zu führen. Ich kann das Spiel jedem Fan von JRPGs, die nichts gegen RPGMaker Spiele haben sehr Empfehlen. Mir hat es sehr viel Spaß gemacht und ich finde es auch schön das man Achievements eingebaut hat, das sieht man bei RPGMaker Spielen ja leider auch eher selten

My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

Tough game, which I like, and the script was thoughtful. Winning was an accomplishment.
I didn't dislike any of it, but it would definitely be improved if (1) there were maps of more than the desert labyrinth, (2) the player could achieve the orb sooner, to cut down on the interminable plodding from place to place, and (3) if there were rush/auto options for battles, to cut down on the mashing of keys.

Not much more I can say than some of the review for this game. Got it as an achievement reward and even after paying a dollar and some change, I was still overcharged. Definitely another "RPG Maker" piece of junk with tedious dialogues, crude pixel graphics, cut-and-paste character graphics, an annoying soundtrack that sounds like an out-of-work German oompah band, and a severely crippled and unbalanced combat system that leaves you with nothing but a group of dead adventures killed in 2-4 rounds of fighting...this game got real old real fast! Moving on to something worth the money...
RPG Maker strikes again!
Fated Souls is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel RPG Maker asset/construction kit flips spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club fan fiction.
As with all RPG Maker games, the poor quality engine displays badly in fullscreen and doesn't have full HD support or any graphics tweaking options, making this unacceptable for any dedicated modern PC gamer. The point can be made that the intention of RPG Maker is to make demos and small games to pass around friends, and shouldn't be used for "professional" game development.
This time Andorlea/Warfare/SimProse/whatever other shell account this guy uses to try hide his identity has once more stamped out a painfully generic copy + paste RPG Maker asset flip. It's horribly basic, riddled with grammatical and spelling errors, full of stock copy + pasted RPG Maker assets... no real game development has taken place here, this is just a cash grab, it's shovelware polluting Steam for profit. This "developer" has dumped over 100 copy+pasted RPG Maker asset flips onto Steam, and keeps pumping out minimum viable product RPG Maker asset flips as rapidly as possible to try gouge gamers.
We must ask why this ongoing pollution has any serious value for gamers or the gaming industry. This kind of cash grab construction kit shovelware from bad actors like Andorlea gives amateur developers a bad name. This pollution takes marketing space away from genuine indie developers who are doing the right thing, and making real games instead of copying+pasting premade assets in a children's video game construction kit. It makes it harder for gamers to find genuinely made games. This pollution is harmful to Steam, to gamers and the gaming industry.
Like most RPG Maker shovelware and asset flips, the game features extremely low quality copy + pasted 2D retro pixel art, looks awful, and has even worse gameplay. RPG Maker is an absolutely terrible construction kit, and never results in games of any reasonable quality or value to gamers.
You don't have to take my word about how bad the game is, we can measure the interest in a game by how much people bothered to play it. Fated Souls has achievements, and they show us a very clear picture that the game absolutely failed to capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is for finding 100 gold, you can do this in less than half an hour, trivial to achieve, but less than 4 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the game. That's a tiny, tiny proportion of gamers who even bothered with this. Ouch.
Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this game was with players reveals a surprise... there's a very healthy spike in player counts for the game. But this isn't consistent with the achievement stats, that show less than 4 percent of players bothered playing the game for any reasonable amount of time. How is it possible for this game to have so many concurrent players who didn't bother to played the game? Trading cards. People will use card idling software to collect the cards and sell them, but this won't trigger any achievements in-game. That tells us people only really bought this game for trading cards, and that's a damning indictment of the woeful quality. A closer look at the numbers shows the game just has a couple of players every week running up the game and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many games like this, with no merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards.
Fated Souls has the total ripoff price of around $5 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam. Gamers who want a good retro JRPG experience would be better off playing the originals, like Final Fantasy, Star Ocean or Chrono Trigger.

Oui ! je recommande ce jeu, un très bon RPG old school. Le scénario est très intéressant, même si je n'ai pas toujours tout compris, l'histoire m'a bien plu.
Attention, mine de rien, c'est un jeu très dur et il vaut mieux s'aider du guide fait par Prudenceanne, le jeu regorge de secrets qui vous aideront à terminer l'aventure, le boss de fin est vraiment hard... il vous faudra absolument les meilleurs équipements, mais ils ne s'achètent pas de façon traditionnelle, il y a beaucoup de choses à faire pour les trouver.
Concernant les graphismes sous RPG maker, il y a mieux aujourd'hui, mais c'est tout à fait correct, joli jeu qui a désormais 13 ans il me semble.

Je vous conseille de jouer avec Grant, augmentez sa puissance avec son sort de boost ( War cry), et là il va taper comme un gros malade !!! conjugué à la capacité "dimish" de Gauly ça fait des ravages !
Sadie et Tessa sont très efficaces aussi lorsqu'il s'agit de pulvériser tout un groupe de monstres d'un seul coup, garce à leurs magies puissantes.
J'ai joué à ce jeu environ 30 heures réelles (pas heure steam qui indique 49h et ne prend pas en compte les pauses - il faut appuyer sur F12 pour mettre en pause )
Ce qui est dommage c'est que l'on peut pas prendre de capture d'écran avec ce jeu et les publier sur steam, la touche qui permet de le faire ( F12) est assignée à une autre tache
Si vous aimez ce genre de jeu, alors je vous conseille aussi : Ahriman's prophecy, qui est un merveilleux jeu et totalement GRATUIT en plus (disponible sur le site Aveyond)
Merci aux concepteur de ce jeu, j'ai passé un bon moment, malgré quelques petits bugs dans les ruines, qui vous font passer à travers le décor, ou passer au dessus du pont alors qu'on était en dessous (lol.. un raccourci quoi, hop )

Formally called Dark Souls - when I was a kid I couldn't find a single guide for this game because a certain behemoth happened to have the same name, though I knew nothing of FromSoftware at the time - and while I'm still most intrigued by the story, ye old RPG Maker stuff has not aged well. XD
Tough one good thing is that the old Alt + Enter trick for getting such games to full screen still works, otherwise this would be unplayable on a 1080p screen.
I did find a walkthrough this time, but this game came out I think in 2009, by now that version of RPG Maker has got to be ancient and it shows, it's so painfully basic, Hell old Pokemon games have more battle animations than this.
Plus from what I've seen in the walkthrough I'd be backtracking to Hell and back and I simply don' have the patience.
Either have packed dialog to keep me interested or have the sense to have small areas, they're not impressive this long down the road, the indoor light is so white, it nearly hurt. Please, have mercy on me and my time and keep areas in such games small and streamlined: loads of NPCs, nice, but all of them say like 1 line and I'll never have anything to do with them again, that's not engaging at all and it's not engaging, it should at least be small and simple to navigate, so I can get to the next trigger for the dialog I'm actually interested in fast.
But no. E.g. why have turns in a cave just to hide a pick up item at the end of a series of turns? That design is basic and bad, all it does is artificially make me do more random battle with no real purpose, there's not added value to it.
As a kid, I wouldn't know any better and might have struggled on, if only I had a proper hint on where to go.
As an adult 1 I know better I know such amounts of backtracking through nice looking environments, but boring battles is just not worth it, it's not in any way fun, it's tortured with visuals in battle being there, but not being engaging or impressive in any way and 2 my time is more limited and more importantly, I don't have to play something I'm not enjoying.
As it stands not only are you required to backtrack, you're required to backtrack to visually unremarkable spots where you've fought bosses before - this would sting less had any of those locations been distinguishable, recognizable in some way to have that "Aha, I remember that spot. Over there by that tree/rock/X." moment where you'd at least recall the landmark - and unless you have a photographic memory, you will have no earthly idea where that was and often the game will not tell yo where to go either (e.g. where in the Hell the black market was hidden made me drop the game as a kid as I didn't have enough ingame resources to wander anywhere for long enough to look in every direction accessible to me, even areas I wasn't meant to be in).
I could try to forgive this if a guide had been included with the game, but as it is, it's just badly made from the perspective of the player.
The way it is now, a few misspellings aside (it's not mostly a few phrases not quite right, I know what the character meant to say, I'll just notice the mistake because my education has drilled proofreading into me), I would love to read the story in book format for the same price as the full one of the game.
As a game, I simply cannot recommend this torture. I should feel like I can't wait to see the story, but all I see is the very lackluster combat and the tediousness along with the backtracking is just "No, I can't take one more moment of this."
Now as much as it sounds like I'm bashing on the game, it's not the worst out there, it is serviceable: it has no game breaking bugs I've noticed and it has the lullaby music (still one of my favorite pieces of music, even though it has probably been used in nearly every RPG Maker game ever made), it just hasn't stood the test of time AT ALL and I'm shocked at this.
It's not that the game is the bottom of the barrel, far from it, far worse RPG Maker games exist where I'd struggle to read anything because the translation would be so bad, the only misfortune this game has is that I'm attempting to play it as someone with far higher standards than the game can hope to meet with its time locked limitations - for the time it came out it would be good, maybe even great (especially for what feels one of the very first commercial projects for a developer or a starting out team), but it's just too tediously boring to me now.
So yeah, get on a VERY deep sale, if you'd like to see and experience an artifact of a bygone age, or if you have the magical ability to power through the most boring gameplay for the sake of a good story (if so, my hat off to you for retaining what I've lost somewhere along the way), but otherwise steer clear of this title.
Given how poorly SOME RPG Maker games have aged (far from all, some hidden gems absolutely are out there), I'd honestly request of any developer using the software to make it known what version of the program they used, if I knew what limitations to expect, I'd know what games to avoid because the program used to create it is just too old at have any appeal whatsoever to me.

Having grown up playing D&D this really feels natural and i got a coupon from a game i already played making it $1.91 I would not have considered it but since it was cheap i tried it and i am glad i did
Gra jest w porządku, jedyną rzeczą jest to, że czasami jesteś pomieszany na mapie i podczas dziwnej misji, nie jestem wielkim fanem RPGMakera, ale też ich nie lubię, a ta gra moim zdaniem jest wcale nieźle, ludzie narzekają na bzdury, jedynym minusem jest to, że nie jest po hiszpańsku, ale jest bardzo dobrze rozumiany po angielsku, więc nie sądzę, żeby było z tym duży problem. 6/10
С Fated Souls все сложно. С одной стороны, она лучше большинства трэш-jRPG на семействе движков RPGM, которыми сегодня заполнен Steam (более того, ее происхождение куда благороднее, чем может показаться на первый взгляд). С другой - из заявленных в описании тридцати часов геймплея приятными можно назвать только первые шесть (дальше начинается дичайший бэктрэкинг, унылость которого смешивается с фрустрацией из-за перекачанных боссов, ради победы над которыми еще и приходится заниматься интенсивным гриндом).
Главными достоинствами проекта являются неподдельная атмосфера "домейнстримового инди" (т.е. игры, явно сделанной на коленке и без денег, но с ощутимым энтузиазмом и любовью к деталям) и неплохой фэнтезийный сюжет, поэтому у меня рука не поднимается влепить ему негативную оценку. Однако рекомендовать FS можно лишь немногим оставшимся поклонникам независимого геймдева из 2000-х; причем ее целевой аудиторией даже на момент выхода являлись любители еще более древних jRPG из девяностых - только они могут понять и простить классические для этого направления геймдизайнерские ходы, призванные максимально растянуть игровое время (вроде того же бэктрэкинга или попросту читерского финального босса, обладающего спецприемом убийства любого из ваших героев с одного удара независимо от его живучести). Сегодня Fated Souls ощущается крайне устаревшей, но именно к такому впечатлению, похоже, и стремилися мапмейкер-сценарист Raphael Delmaschio, в равных пропорциях смешавший в ней лучшие и худшие черты классики с NES вроде первых Dragon Quest и Final Fantasy (в оригинальные версии которых сегодня очень непросто играть из-за морально устаревшего геймдизайна).
Об этом трудно догадаться, не будучи знакомым с историей издательства Aldorea Games, но на самом деле FS вышла в апреле 2009-го и была исторически первым коммерческим проектом от еще совсем юной Warfare Studios - в те времена разработка носила название "Dark Souls". Для Steam-релиза в 2015-м г. тайтл пришлось поменять на "Fated Souls", чтобы избежать обвинений в попытке нажиться на известном имени со стороны фанатов творчества Хидетаки Миядзаки. Соответственно, трилогия "Dark Souls Saga" на Steam стала называться "Fated Souls 1-2-3" - впрочем, на странице Aldorea Games они до сих пор сохранились в изначальном варианте.
По своему качеству Fated Souls относится к той прослойке любительских jRPG на RPG Maker XP, которые нельзя назвать ни "ужасными", ни "выдающимися". Значительная часть графики состоит из ассетов к RPGM XP, разбросанных по разным фанатским сайтам, однако определить это с первого взгляда сможет лишь инди-разработчик, который когда-то натыкался на них в ходе создания собственной игры (впрочем, оригинального пиксель-арта в проекте также немало). Портреты персонажей нарисованы от руки в жанре "самодельной манги", и потому лица героев страдают от диспропорций и стеклянных глаз, что может отпугнуть игроков, не привыкших к "индюшатине" старого типа.
Карты получились крупными, но в первые часы игры не слишком запутанными (обычно на них есть всего несколько развилок), плюс разработчик благоразумно повысил скорость перемещения главгероя (по сравнению с традиционной для RPGM XP), так что от одного края экрана до другого он добегает довольно быстро. Геймдизайнерские проколы встречаются уже в начале: к примеру, игрок может заблудиться в открывающей секции первого же подземелья, и лишь потом догадаться, что автор поместил точку перехода в другую его область в нижнюю часть одного из экранов (которая на первый взгляд выглядит как тупик) и не выделил ее как следует (почему-то эта недоработка не была исправлена даже в Steam-версии, опубликованной на шесть лет позже оригинала).
Баланс выстроен таким образом, что в первые два-три часа у геймера не возникнет особых проблем с рядовыми монстрами, если он будет использовать на них обычную атаку со стороны главгероя-война, магический скилл со стороны компаньона-магички и догадается вооружить хилера лежащим у него в инвентаре, но не экипированным посохом, который тот приобретает по сюжету (что обеспечивает команде небольшой, но важный дополнительный урон). Последнее действие требует от игрока внимательного отношения к микроменеджменту группы (и подразумевает, что у аудитории FS есть как минимум базовый опыт игры в олд-скульные jRPG, которые не дают игроку подсказок что и как делать дальше), но особых проблем с недостатком аптечек и средств пополнения очков маны в первые часы не ощущается (целебных растений наоборот всегда в избытке, поэтому не тратить ману на лечение оказывается даже разумнее).
К четвертому-шестому часу сложность начинает возрастать за счет живучих противников и запутанных локаций-лабиринтов, состоящих из дюжин экранов - зельями здоровья и маны теперь приходится закупаться, как и более продвинутым вооружением. А вот после шестого часа необходимость дополнительного гринда для адекватного сопротивления даже рядовым монстрам, а также надоедливый бэктрэкинг, необходимость которого диктует сюжет, начинают стремительно портить впечатление от проекта. Фаст-трэвела нет - проходить гигантские расстояния приходится на своих двоих, тратя при этом время на битвы с низкоуровневыми противниками (к счастью, зачастую из боя можно "Сбежать", не получив при этом урона).
Где-то посередине сюжета игра пожелает, чтобы вы пешком проделали весь путь от недавно открытого дальнего западного конца игрового мира до стартовой локации, и если на этом геймер не решит, что с него хватит, то вскоре ему придется топать всю дорогу обратно, ибо на дальнем западном конце открылась новая область. А потом новая область откроется на дальнем северном конце (причем это один из худших эпизодов игры, "Пустынный лабиринт" - многие экраны в нем копируют друг друга, чтобы запутать игрока). А потом игра скажет: "один из злодеев сейчас в бегах, поэтому извольте рандомно поездить по миру и поговорить с его знакомыми, которые потенциально могут знать, где он" - и нужные NPC снова окажутся в стартовой локации. А скрываться злодей, разумеется, будет на самом краю открывшегося прохода на дальнем северо-западном конце игрового мира. Ну а если монстры совсем заели и вы хотите более крутые шмотки, извольте выполнить побочные квесты - многие из них тоже требуют бэктрэкинга.
Одним словом, сегодня пройти Fated Souls до конца можно только из принципа, вооружившись редактором RPGM XP и соорудив себе фаст-тревел собственноручно (т.е. расставив по местным городам дополнительные точки перемещения). Прохождение из секции "Руководства" в Steam подсказывает, что ближе к финалу игроку становится доступен побочный квест, завершение которого открывает "легальный" фаст-тревел, добавленный самим разработчиком, но дотерпеть до этого момента (с учетом габаритов местных карт, в которых с середины игры становится легче легкого запутаться из-за постоянных разветвлений) сможет только самый безумный поклонник jRPG, готовый двадцать часов ходить по одним и тем же местам и убивать одних и тех же монстров, лишь изредка попадая в новые зоны. И эти двадцать часов гринда действительно потребуются, чтобы выжить на заключительных локациях (где схватки с рядовыми монстрами больше похожи на босс-баттлы) и уничтожить всех финальных боссов (последний из которых, кроме упомянутого в начале обзора ван-шотного скилла, обладает просто непомерной живучестью).
Вердикт: любительская jRPG десятилетней давности, которая даже чересчур усердно косплеит классические jRPG тридцатилетней давности (со временем здесь тоже появляется необходимость в тщательном микроменеджменте группы, море гринда и избыточный бэктрэкинг). Рекомендуется по большой скидке, но только тем игрокам, которые все еще радуются встрече с проектом эры "домейнстримового инди" и при этом не засыпают во время игры в jRPG старого типа.
P.S.: Лимит символов на обзор не оставил мне места для разбора сюжета - скажем так, он начинает как следует раскрываться после третьего часа игры и оказывается вполне неплохим (несмотря на штампы), но покупать FS только ради него однозначно не стоит.

Gauly (nie mylić z postacią ze Slayersów!) to doświadczony najemnik o szemranej przeszłości sprawiający wrażenie antybohatera i totalnego buca. Jednak jego usługi są na tyle cenne, by głowa kościoła powierzyła mu misję eskortowania w pewne miejsce ważnej dla przyszłości świata służki (?Maid?) imieniem Ashley. Dziewczyna ma podobno być bardzo skuteczna w oczyszczaniu pojawiających się na świecie anomalii. Owe anomalie to nic innego jak potężne potwory powstające, jak twierdzi kościół, z negatywnych uczuć mieszkańców świata. Innego zdania są Ewolucjoniści i konflikt tych dwóch frakcji będzie osią napędzającą całej historii. Świat przedstawiony to takie pseudo średniowieczne fantasy. Ale niech ten z pozoru nieciekawy wstęp Was nie zwiedzie, fabuła w Fated Souls jest naprawdę ciekawa jak na grę tego gatunku, a obserwowanie poczynań naszej drużyny jak i zmian następujących w ich życiu jak i podejściu do świata potrafi być wciągające.
[b]PLUSY - czyli czym ta gra wybija się z tłumu podobnych pozycji:[/b]
Ciekawa fabuła - to nie jest randomowa historyjka w stylu "Młody poszukiwacz przygód rusza na przygodę i ratuje świat" rodem z podręcznika do tworzenia prostych gier w makerze. Rozwój bohaterów i dialogi między nimi -to częsty problem gier z Makera na Steam, brak jakichkolwiek relacji w drużynie. Tutaj przeciwnie, mamy grupę ciekawych postaci mających swoje historie, motywacje itd. Część z nich zmienia się wyraźnie pod wpływem wydarzeń. Może nie wszyscy są równie dopracowani, ale na plus, że nie olano tego jakże ważnego aspektu.
Dość ładne mapy może za wyjątkiem wnętrz budynków i samych miast.
System walki zmieniony graficznie względem domyślnego, na pochwałę zasługują ładne, duże i animowane sylwetki bohaterów.
Wymagająca walka na poziomie starych odsłon Final Fantasy (FF IV dla przykładu). Poważnie, większość tego typu gierek, w które grałem przechodzi się spamując komendę ataku. Tutaj takie coś nie przejdzie, no chyba, że na początku gry.
Długość. Mi zajęło 20h z kawałkiem, a i tak odpuściłem część zadań pobocznych.
[b]Minusy - czyli to co o mało nie zapewniło łapki w dół:[/b]
Backtracking, losowe walki, przesadnie rozlazłe lokacje będące istnymi labiryntami. - Poważnie, gra w drugiej połowie rzuca nas kilka razy po całym świecie pozbawionym klasycznej mapy świata i szybkiej podróży bądź środków transportu poza małym wyjątkiem. Ta jedna wada, a raczej trzy w jednej sprawiają, że ma się ochotę rzucić grę gdzie pieprz rośnie, gdy musimy lecieć dosłownie przez kilkadziesiąt plansz walcząc co kilka, czasem kilkanaście sekund. Tylko chęć poznania całej fabuły trzymała mnie przy grze.
Dziennik, a raczej jego brak, nieraz niejasne wytyczne co dalej zrobić w głównym wątku. Jak się tworzy grę z questami rzucającymi nas po świecie, to się powinno dodać dziennik, zwłaszcza, że niektóre zadanka można wykonać długo po ich otrzymaniu. Do tego czasem bez poradnika ciężko stwierdzić gdzie się dalej udać.
Znajdźki, a raczej sposób ich umieszczenia w grze. Kto to widział, żeby zamiast skrzynek wszystkie itemy rozsiane po lokacjach miały formę ledwo widocznych migoczących punktów. W śnieżnych lokacjach to już w ogóle był ból oczu, by coś znaleźć.
[b]Podsumowanie:[/b]
Grę polecam tylko osobom, które przeboleją wypunktowane minusy. Tak czy inaczej gra wyróżnia się na tle małych, zrobionych na kolanie projektów. Tyle ode mnie, trochę dziwnie mi ta mała recka wyszła, ale jest :). Pozdrawiam i miłego grania wszystkim!

Ce Fated Souls est un petit bijou ! Digne des premiers FF.
La personnalité des différents personnages est intéressante et le héros a un bon background qui sort des sentiers battus.
Il y a une belle logique dans la trame principale, beaucoup de quêtes secondaires (où l'interaction avec les PNJs est très importante comme dans un YS) et un bestiaire varié et souvent coriace.
Ensuite j'ai remarqué quelques petits bémols, certains bugs de décors, une musique pas assez variée et surtout le boss final qui arrive à se vaincre seulement avec de la chance (réussi au bout d'une trentaine de try).
Un bon RPG indé old-school à posséder ! Je m'en vais jouer au second opus.
This was Warfare's debut game and it does show a bit. Like their other games they were added on Steam (I assume by publisher Aldorlea) many years after they were initially made. This one was published in 2009.
It was originally called Dark Souls but had to change it's name due to another, a bit more famous, game with the same name... but this one was released in 2009 and Dark Souls only in 2011 so this game had that name first yet they were forced to change it.
Anyway: the game itself, I find the negative reputation it has on Steam a bit unfair since it's much better that one would assume looking at the ratings.
It does have one huge problem: the amount of backtracking reaches a point were it's almost unacceptable, it's not nice to force your character to walk all the way back to the beginning (first screen even, that's like 30 screens back) for a conversation and have you do that not once but twice and there's more backtracking apart from that, on top of that you often get little guidance or hints as to where you exactly have to be to continue the story.
Luckily the developer listened to the criticism the game got from users and fixed that problem from part 2 (Fated Souls 2) where you have two maps and an orb (fast traveling tool) from the beginning of the game: that's exactly what's missing in this game.
Thus I strongly advice to use the excellent guide in the community section so you are not wandering around and losing too much time, I made the mistake of only using the guide towards the end of the game.
The character art is not standard RPG Maker stuff and the persons have a slightly taller size, more common to European style RPG's.
The story slowly builds up, right in the beginning it doesn't seem that interesting but 4 to 6 hours in it really starts to grab you and it grows, it's well written (better as in the average RPG Maker game) and gathers pace nicely.
The dialogues are not as polished as in Warfare's superb 'Ashes of Immortality' but they're still decent. The main character, Gauly, has a mysterious, dark past and he has apparently commited crimes before. This aspect creates some tension and helps the player wanting to discover more about the story and Gauly's past. On top of that the game is not without social critique in it's scope. Overall the plot is build up well and you do feel a connection with it's personalities after a while.
Some other players have mentioned spelling mistakes in the text conversations, it's true there are language erros but the creators were clearly not native English speakers and this was their first game, it's nothing that's so bothering that it breaks the immersion. The mistake that constantly came back (and that I've seen in other games) is writing then instead of than (and I've also seen 'off coarse' instead of 'off course). That can be a bit annoying but come one it certainly doesn't deserve a thumb down for that.
The soundtrack is RPG Maker stock material but each tune was well chosen for each level so they made good use of that material.
The battle system in this game was rather standard but... it's balanced very well (this is often where it goes wrong in other RPG maker games) and the difficulty in fights gradually builds up without ever becoming overwhelming, they managed to find the sweet spot.
What was anoying (another common RPG maker problem) is that the invisible enemies caused fights far too often, luckily you can use the escape button (you're gonna need it).
Overall it's a very enjoyable story driven RPG that was clearly made with love. Whether you are prepared to run up and down screens (backtracking) is up to you so I'm advising it with caution but do keep in mind that the second and third part of this trilogy don't have that aspect.

Убожество. Хотел пройти на все достижения - после посадки главного героя отплыл на корабле в ранее посещённую локацию, а обратно не пускают. Тупик. Сейв один. Наиграно 6 часов. Удаляю это недоразумение с проклятиями. Надеюсь, фирма обанкротится, т..к уже игры реже выпускает.
Боёвка очень медленная и тягомотная. Лучше уж Final Fantasy 5 тогда...

Nincs normális quest leírás, nincsen térkép, gyakran 4-5 lépésenként ellenségek jönnek. Ez egy rossz játék.
So I'm mixed about this game. There are good points and bad so suppose it's worth detailing both.

- while the story is good, there is alot of backtracking and no map to tell you where things are if you didn't write it down

TLDR: Small corridor like mazes and maps connect uninteractive small towns with lots of scripted dialogue. Storyline feels stale. Small world. Amateur ugly sprites that clash. Uninvolving combat.
This is more of a "Fetid Souls" story. Most of the population has this vague spiritual unease and a battle over the everyman's conscience is waged between factions. Your protag is some sort of celebrity in this tiny world, some antihero mercenary type who cant be bothered to pick a side.
Your job is to escort a ritual girl somewhere to foil people who would hurt the church with evolution theory. Along the way you fight the occasional "anomaly" which is just some ugly Kaiju sprite.
The dialogue was okay but leaning towards the cringe, slow unfolding and pedantic. Really hard to feel like you relate to anyone in the world and conversations feel forced and too dramatic. Kind of like the high point of another fantasy game, where that dialogue is accepted because of all the history and all the dramatic tension that led to such a moment.
The game is formulaeic as well. Go to inn... get orders, do errands, an interruption happen, deal with interruption, go to maze/forest/cave/find yourself at new village a couple of screens later. Repeat at step 1.
The game does not have a journal log and if you skip past the boring dialogue too quick it can be easy to lose track of hat the game wants you to do next. The game is incredibly linear full of invisible walls, map edges that seem to lead somewhere do not allow you to proceed, while on some rare occasions, sealed off walls actually are openings to another cave. Makes progression sometimes frustrating.
In conclusion this is a very forgettable story that tries really hard but does not hook, the combat scales linearly with increasingly bulletspongy enemies but not much tactical depth and there is usually only one item for every slot for each of your three characters at any given shop so the upgrade paths are linear. You level at a regular pace using regular attack button and dont run out of money. Boss fights were easily overcome.

Idk, there are so many RPGs..
This one is very very very derivative, you always have that sensation of "I already played this thing a hundred times before"..
The soundtrack is awful, and the graphics too.. yeah, it's RPG Maker.. there is no Setting options anywhere so you have to stick with the graphics and the options given by the developers..
The battle system is utterly standard, the classic Final Fantasy turn-based system.. oh, of course you can't play with a joystick and even remap your keyboard keys..
Everything looks really basic (you step into houses and all are dubbed "random house" in the menu ahah), from the plot to the gameplay, it feels like you're playing a NES game back in the early '90s but with twice the problems we had at these times.
It isn't -that- bad this game, it's just a super classic JRPG with nothing new to note and everything used and reused throughout the decades.. there's a million better RPGs out there, even retro/indie ones of course.
And since we're on Steam, when you see that only 1 over 10 players has bothered to get even only the first two or three achievements it means really that almost every owned of Fated Souls managed to play it only for 30 minutes before giving in to boredom..
the story and combat felt blant and rehashed. combat was easy untill it wasnt and i had to go back and grind wich i did not enjoy. in comparison to games like Greyfox, Aveyond, Dreamscape this was a very noobish game and just didnt hold my attention i kept playing hoping it would get better but it just didnt and the story similar to many other stories just tweecked here and there

This game is... interesting. It is a nice little RPG, and appears to have originally been called Dark Souls (the name change might have something to do with another game with that name getting too popular). You start as Gauly, a mercenary on the run from his past. You are given a quest which might lead to your redemption... or your end.
Warfare Studios appears to be slowly moving their game library over to Steam. For instance, this game appears to have originally been published in 2009, but didn't arrive on Steam until 2015. It perhaps would be a good idea to take that into account when criticizing any flaws the game might have (it also appears to be the earliest release by that company, too).
If you can get past the typos its not a horrible game. Very basic story. Definitely brings you back to the 2d rpgs of old.

I'm a pretty big fan of RPG's, and generally enjoy RPGmaker games. However, this game has some issues. The big problems are that the storyline is convoluted and uninteresting while the characters are boring and you never get attached to any of them. But, you can appreciate what the developer was trying to do so those aspects tend to be "not good enough" rather than "painful."
The smaller issues are what really kill this game. Grammatical mistakes, terrible dialogue, game bugs / flaws, achievements that don't work, unclear path to progression, etc. There is even confusion on movement speed as you start the game with the ability to run around at rapid speeds, but inexplicably lose that ability after an hour or so and never get it back (which is super bad later on since you do a lot of wandering around). Especially given the price point on this game, I really cannot recommend it. If you do find it on a good sale, I would still say that only the most zealous RPGmaker fans should apply. Give this game the fate that it deserves, the fate of the forgotten.

Ich spiele gern und oft RPG-Maker Spiele, aber dieses kann ich nicht empfehlen.
Nach einer halben Stunde hatte ich genug. In der kürze der Zeit kam keine rechte Atmosphäre auf, die "Story" entwickelt sich etwas hastig und abgehackt. Möglicherweise würde sich der Eindruck revidieren, wenn ich weiter spielen würde, aber die Lust dazu hält sich in Grenzen.
Der Grund sind die Menge an Rechtschreibfehlern, dem ein Mangel an verwendeten Satzzeichen gegenübersteht. In einem kommerziellen Produkt, für das Käufer Geld bezahlen, möchte ich keine Rechtschreibfehler wie "girsl" anstatt "girls" oder "athiest" statt "atheist" lesen. Davon abgesehen ist auch das Writing an sich nicht gerade gelungen, was vielleicht über die Fehler hätte hinweg sehen lassen. Einmal Korrekturlesen sollte schon noch drin sein, wenn man mit einem Produkt Geld verdienen möchte.
Zum Kampfsystem kann ich nicht viel sagen, rundenbasiert, langsam, nichts Besonderes. Auch das Artwork reißt nicht vom Hocker, scheint aber zumindest selbst gemacht zu sein. Ich hätte dem Spiel eine Chance gegeben, wenn mich das Writing und die Rechtschreibfehler nicht abgeschreckt hätten.
Empfehlen würde ich es nicht, aber wer will kann ja auf einen Sale warten, denn das Spiel hat zumindest Karten und Errungenschaften.

EL juego esta bien, lo único es que a veces te haces lío en el mapa y en alguna que otra misión, yo no soy muy fan de los RPGMaker, pero tampoco me desagradan, y este juego en mi opinión no está del todo mal, la gente se queja por tonterías la única pega es que no está en español, pero se entiende muy bien en inglés asi que no creo que haya mucho problema sobre eso

Un jeu vraiment sympa et très complet qui aurait pu s'inscrire dans la lignée des premiers Final Fantasy, l'histoire et la quête principale sont soignés et originaux, ajouté au caractères des personnages et aux graphiques qui donnent une réelle atmosphère au jeu. On sent bien le travail fournit derrière tout ça. (18-20 heures environ).
Les évènements et quêtes annexes sont nombreux.
Fan de rpg je vous le recommande!

[b]Story: +[/b] The story comes like a bit of a surprise, the game has it's offs, but once you get started with the game, you actually will try to finish it. The main protagonist of the game is "Gauly" a unlikely hero (more an typical antihero) who is hunted, abused and... well you'll see when you play the game. Though the game doesn't look like much, it's a lot of gametime involved - the story will develop during the game and will take twists and turns. Some things have to be taken with care, though, there are some inconsistencies around.
[b]Leveling: Ø[/b] Standardized RPGMaker Routines, nothing special, nothing out of the ordinary.
[b]Immersion: +[/b] The game has surprised me, once I started it, I couldn't put it aside. Yes I know, it's a cheap RPGMaker game. But well, try it yourself, and play it through... the story has it's flaws as I stated. Positive is, that the game actually draws you into it's plot.
[b][i]Overall Rating: 2+[/i][/b] The game isn't too bad, but it isn't special too. The story works fine for this game, so it might be worth a try. Spellchecking would also be a nice addition, before it got released.
[b]Value for Money: Low at 9,99 Bucks[/b] The game has some more hours of playtime! But that isn't sufficient enough because most of it is grinding experience Levels with the most officious monsters possible at given level. The Balancing though is ok, and the game had no crashes, or gamebreaking bugs during play.

The game is a bit expensive to give it a full recommendation, plus it's quite standard RPG-Maker stuff. If you get it on a cheap sale, or somewhere else give it a try...
If you are not a fan of RPG (especially JRPG's) or long grinding hours, don't buy this game.

As a fan of RPG maker games, I've played my fair share.
I've played some excellent titles such as Sydney's World, and Vagrant Hearts 1 & 2.
They had interesting stories, unique and memorable characters, excellent battle systems, and very good interfaces.
This game doesn't make me feel the same way.
It should be noted that the Vagrant Hearts series came out from this same developer after Fated Souls.
Fated Souls is a very generic turn-based RPG.
It features a side view battle system, a handful of different characters, and random battles.
Typical problems with the RPG Maker engine are here such as no Steam Overlay support.
I'm surprised to see that this game costs full price $10.99 CDN. This game is NOT worth that much by any means. There is simply not enough good qualities here to make this game worth that price.
I've also discovered that some Steam Achievements do NOT work in this game for those who care.
Pros:
-Good battle system
-Player characters are animated (I don't see this in RPG Maker games very often)
-Decent music and sound effects
There is simply not enough here to make me want to keep spending my time playing. Everything about this game is just so generic, and there are too many spelling and grammarical errors to take the attempt at good writing here seriously. I found the story very unusual, and the characters were very strange. The main character was a very moody childish person. I found it unappealing.
Travelling from town to town through maze-like forests got very boring eventually, especially once I realized that this was the main path of progression in this game. It just felt so boring and generic.
The interface is very bland. The artwork is terrible. The portraits of the characters don't match the in game sprites and one of the characters portrait is zoomed in way more that the rest of them and it just looks bad.
For some reason, your main character walks around at lighting speed during the first hour or so of the game. No, there is no Walk/Run button or game setting. The default walking speed actually changes later in the game automatically to something more tolerable.
I found this made no sense and was a very memorable negative about the game design.
No attempt was made here to make this game stand out as exciting or impressive.
I think the issue here is that this is the first game this developer made, and Vagrant Hearts is proof he got better at this, but this game has no buisness being priced the way it is.
I guess I just expect a lot more out of a game released within the last couple years, since everyone else is doing much better things with the engine.
There is no excuse for the bad spelling and grammer, and broken achievements.
There are plenty of better RPGs on Steam with lower or equal prices tags than this.
Skip this game, you're not missing anything.

I like the art in this game allthough some enemies and people are rather blurry and they dont even seem to fit into the game as if they were just copy pasted into the game. the game promises fun game play but im not entirely sure thats the truth the conversations happens way to frequently and there is no way to tell if its going to be a short conversation or a never ending one that takes place several ingame days. ive also managed to find some minor typos and grammar issues within the texts. the game itself throughout the gameplay is rather uneventful all you do is do what everyone says and kill. there are no side quests even though some of the villagers mention they missing something or want to find someone. thats a con in this game it should have side quests that negates the never ending "running around in a circle" hoping enemies pop up so you can ensure you are correct level in a boss fight. but what bugs me the most. and i dont know if anyone else who played this have realised it. but as the game progresses....you freaking walking speed slows down...whats the point of that? at the begining its so fast its barely possible to walk through doors just cus they are in center of a 3 block but after an hour or two in the game it goes so slow its not even funny to play anymore...choose a permanent walking speed or add a run button. dont just gradualy remove the speed making it impossible to adapt.. nothing new or new creating here except the walking speed trolling. that was new. rest is just another rpg indie adventure game. the only thing that made me keep playing longer than 30min are the 1h achievement and i figured you could just spam save to get the saves achievements... so yeah not worth the money nor the time or effort to go hunt the other achievements.

Okay, so because this game was on sale I decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately I bought it without seeing the reviews, and I was in for one hell of a disappointment. After about 30 minutes of playing it I could not bring myself to continue, the whole game is just... ugly. The art is shoddy, almost Deviantart levels of bad. Battles take forever to finish, the battle sprites are animated poorly, and enemy sprites look like they are just straight up ripped from other sources. The story is not well written, I do not feel any sense of attachment to these characters and the numerous amounts of typos does not help. Although it is a minor gripe, the control scheme is very counterintuitive. (X is cancel/menu and C is confirm) When walking around your character travels at an insanely fast pace, making it hard to travel through narrow areas. When you're trying to progress to the next area or travel through a dungeon the area transitions are very specific and can even completely hide from view, in the case of the first dungeon. I'm so done with this game, I'm definitely getting my refund on this garbage game, good riddance.

As a mercenary, Gauly isn't liked very much. He still gets hired for jobs though, and this one should be simple, or so you would think. A simple escort mission for the church soon turns into something bigger - something that affects the whole world.
Fated Souls suffers from numerous issues. There's a lot of slow backtracking in the game, which isn't made much better by the fact you get initially teased with fantastic movement speed. This backtracking involves a lot of not knowing where you actually need to go, so what you're really doing is playing "where in the world is the right NPC to talk to". This is made even worse by the fact battles progress incredibly slowly. Learn to use and abuse magic - it's a major saviour.
It's incredibly hard for me to recommend this game unless you're ready for a lot of headaches.
pros:
+ I liked the Gauly and other party members. They're not the typical heroes.
+ Smooth gameplay. The fast movement also adds to this.
+ I liked the story.
+ Fairly big dungeons with lot of optional stuff.
cons:
- Battles are quite repetitive and don't require much strategy.
- I missed a quest log. Sometimes it's a bit confusing remembering what to do.
Fated Souls is not perfect, but I liked the story and the characters. And the game plays easily, I rarely got stuck. Somehow it felt smooth and enjoyable. Since the dialogues have been fixed, I can recommend it. Actually, for me it's the best from Warfare Studios so far.

In Fated Souls the main character (Gauly) is thrown into an innocent enough sounding situation wherein he is called on to escort a maiden (and her mentor) of the "Great Church" to a faraway temple. Simple enough, but, of course, obstacles of all sorts present themselves in this quick moving and absorbing story of a man (Gauly) who is tormented by his inner conflicts and past history as a mercenary.
As the trio move across the world, there are many characters, situations, monsters, and "anomalies" ---- boss fights ---- that have to be dealt with along with a lot of exploration and things to discover that will keep you alert and interested in this nicely told story.
Character development gets high marks in this game ---- each of the main protagonists slowly reveal their true selves and their motivations as you get further into the tale. Gauly especially is believable and interesting.
High marks go to the music in the game, which sometimes adds to the suspenseful atmosphere, and sometimes offers relief in the form of light and catchy tunes ---- but is never overpowering.
Artwork is very good, particularly in the battle scenes. And the world itself is bright and colorful while caves, gloomy forests, etc. are presented in good detail.
The game offers a bit higher challenge in the beginning than most, but once you get the feel of how to battle and use magic the balance is just fine for moving along easily.
It's a classic 16-bit style rpg that is exciting and smoothly paced, and I'm glad it has arrived on Steam. I hope the sequel comes along soon.

Okay. I'm not even sure how to review this without being impolite. Please, if you're going to drop an obviously rpg-maker-esque game, SPELL CHECK YOUR DIALOGUE.
I can move past the low-quality copy-paste images for "monsters", even the forced story without any real build-up, but obvious grammar mistakes and forgetting to end a sentence... That is too far.
You have to make me want to love the main character, or even hate him. I don't care, just make me feel something instead of spacing through long dialogues. I'm sorry, but after 30 minutes of gameplay I did not enjoy it for a moment, and I will be requesting a refund. I'll happily give more critiques, and I really don't mean to come off like a troll, but this game really needs to be reviewed. It's hardly playable. I'll even re-purchase it again if I hear about updates.
