One of the few games from my childhood. So whatever it is, I'll always give it a 10/10.
This game is actually insane. I’ve played plenty of Solitaire games, but this is the first one that somehow manages to completely mess up the core concept.
Way too often I’d just sit there flipping cards endlessly, never getting the one I needed. It genuinely felt like the game was personally messing with me. In the late game especially, progress depends on perfect setups—but you don’t fail because you play badly. You fail because the game simply refuses to give you the required card. So you restart the stage and waste another 15 minutes grinding. Rinse and repeat.
And speaking of grind: the amount of it is ridiculous, especially considering how little you get in return. You can upgrade a few things, but it’s always something meaningless like 5% more cash or slightly faster egg hatching.
Ah yes, the eggs. They hatch into mythical creatures like phoenixes or hydras, which sounds cool—until you realize they do absolutely nothing. No gameplay effects, no bonuses. Just a bit of flavor text. That’s it.
The overall quality doesn’t help either. The game is janky as hell, the settings are barebones, and you can’t even change the resolution.
TL;DR:
Easily the worst Solitaire game I’ve ever played. I still don’t understand how you can screw up Solitaire, but somehow they managed it.

Calm atmosphere and easy to grasp gameplay loop. For me personally, the game was too simplistic and it felt too repetitive/boring/easy, as there isn't much strategy/planning required for solving. Upgrades/collectibles are basically cosmetics as they don't change much with the gameplay.
You can get remastered version which looks and plays a bit smoother for modern machines.

I've had this game for a long time and just getting back to it. This is something more for people who want to relax in gaming. It poses few challenges, and the story arc is cute. It's a good game to unwind with after a long day, or after a long campaign in other fast paced games.

I love solitaire.
I first got and tried this game back in 2015 and jumping back into it, I still would say this is a fun solitaire game. It's pretty simple golf solitaire style game with a goal of collecting eggs as well as evolving creatures. It can be pretty grindy (especially if your focus is on achievements), however if you're a fan of solitaire, then it's still a relaxing game. The graphics are pretty basic and I honestly didn't really read the creatures descriptions (something I don't normally skip but I was more focused on just playing the game).
Overall, the game can be a grind (a long grind) so if you're not a fan of that, I'd skip the game.. However, I do personally think this is one of the more fun solitaire games out there and say give it a try.

This started out as an amazingly fun game. I loved playing it, until it the last achievement. The achievement says to fill the purple bar in less than a minute, but after replaying again and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, finally looked it up and discovered the description was wrong. You have to fill the purple bar under a minute AND successfully complete the hand. SO, back to the grind, playing again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, trying to complete the achievement. I never why developers think that extending the life of their games by turning it into a grindfest makes it better. Grinding drains the joy from every game. This game would be a 10/10 ii not for the grinding. At the very least it would be nice to have one the upgrades you can buy be a clock displayed on the screen so you can tell if you made the cut without having ti finish the hand just to see you failed.

years ago I was incredibly depressed and this game was a glint of sunlight in a monotonous period.
A really lovely solitaire game. I have played quite a bit of the over the years and this one stays as one of my favorites even 10+ years later.
My only real issue is with it is not even really with the game itself, but with one of the achievements which is incredibly grindy, but if you don't care about those it is a great solitaire game.

I have bought this game four times already- I kid you not- and in light of what the folks at Subsoap have made of themselves, I *do not* regret my support.
My only regret is sort of falling off of the face of the fandom back when Faerie Solitaire Dire was in its early playtesting stages.

The premise is simple. It's solitaire, yes, but reworked so frankly it isn't a congealed about-turning mess. You don't have some pile you can't figure out mocking you, you don't need to worry about suite, and you can unlock abilities that make this an outright skill-based/strategy-light game.
The cheesy yet meant dialogue and story are actually more an appeal than not to me. I've had my heart broken by so many deep-lore games that don't want me, it's honestly great now- originally it was okay, but it's aged like fine wine into 'great' - to have a fantasy story that just consists of, "dark dreams, loose mystery, go save faeries." And frankly, the way these faerie women are drawn makes my testosterone flare and is perfectly compatible with the reason I made this Steam account, even if there are no actual explicit 'goods' shown in the art.
Not one of you who felt funny watching Tinker Bell in Disney's Peter Pan has any right to judge me.

As far as cons go- and yes, pros and cons alike are timeless so I will list them- it's mostly that the genuinely interesting collectibles, like pets, can be frustrating to get, and once you get them, they're just kind of .... there. It was a passion project on a budget so of course they couldn't spring for animations or interactible Chao Garden-esque pet-raising, so curb your outrage.
Same with money. This is not unique to Faerie Solitaire; there are countless games where you win currency to buy upgrades and stuff, but it's a finite pool so you eventually get every upgrade but keep winning money, letting you hoard pointless wealth with no need to spend it. Again, though, this was a budgeted passion project. Have perspective.

I definitely recommend. Not only this, but the rest of Subsoap's creations. The Fae series has grown quite a bit from this humble seed. If you want to see how the lore has evolved, I definitely encourage you to play Faerie Solitaire Harvest in particular.
This game is simple, engaging and a fun way to pass the time should you need a game you can easily pick up and drop whenever you have a little free time!

It's been so long since I first got Faerie Solitaire (FS), that I don't recall where it came from. The title was released back in 2010, and I'd rather review the game before it reaches its 15th anniversary. Truly there's no specific reason for that, I'm just trying to clear out my library so it's less dusty. Speaking of truth, I don't expect much from a solitaire game, regardless of the prominent reviews.
[h1]Gameplay[/h1]
Computers have been part of my life for a while, so I'm used to playing the free version of solitaire that came with them. The question is, what does FS do to make it more worthwhile that you'd pay for the pleasure? For one thing, its gameplay is much faster. How its setup on the screen isn't drastically different, as you have rows of cards lain out, with some of them turned upright, while you can't see others. Their patterns can get a little fancy, but it doesn't change things that significantly.
Your method for clearing them is substantially different though. Instead of looking for an Ace to start a stack, as you draw cards from the deck, you're looking for any card that's either one position above or below any of the topmost cards on the board, and the suits are completely irrelevant. If there's a 4, 7, and 8 available, drawing a 3 or anything from 5-9 would let you play that card. There's no limit to how many you can play in a row, as long as you can keep clicking on a card above or below your current one. Toss in different mechanics and clear conditions as you go through Adventure Mode, additional challenges in another game mode, and you've got a title that can hold your attention a while.

Presumably your character is the blonde kid from the title screen, but I didn't really notice who he is or much about the world overall. It's safe to say it's a classic fantasy world, seeing as how he overhears the pained calls of trapped faeries, which isn't how I'm used to spelling that word. His good deeds draw the attention of a wizard, who tells him to save the faeries. No idea what sort of sicko is imprisoning them to begin with, but they're a pretty miserable bunch, from the cutscenes I saw.

When you're actually playing the game, the visuals don't include very much, since it's merely a screen full of cards. There's some background elements, but in my view, everything looks a bit low-budget. After clearing the last card in a row, you'll gather items like gold coins, lumber, or stone, and none of them are especially well drawn. The edges look rough, and I kept thinking the eggs were merely an orb of some kind. Similarly, the cutscenes and story sections weren't any better. Also, some of the tutorial screens squeezed the writing a bit tight, shrinking it down so everything would fit. Last but not least, I found the hand-written looking font a touch hard to read.

Disappointingly, although there's music for the title screen, there isn't any when you're actually playing the game. You'll hear a bit of ambient noise, such as wind blowing, but I don't know why they didn't compose any songs considering how long they expected people to play FS. Conversely, the entire story has voice acting for it, which seems an odd combination to me. I wasn't that impressed with the voice acting, so I think the smart thing to do would be to mute the game, even if you'll miss the voiced lines, and turn on your own music. Why play in silence for hours in order to hear a couple of minutes of dialogue?

🔍 Oftentimes, which card you should clear first is situational. Taking a card where you can see the one behind it means you could extend the range of options to set off a combo, or you might be better off going for the unknown in a row of greater importance.
🔍 Once you get an entire set of spare cards, 2-10, you won't receive anymore. I find they're more useful either to open up a row blocked off by a lousy card, or to extend a potentially long combo.
🔍 Keep in mind the next item you want to buy and how much it costs. FS won't remind you when you've reached that target amount.
[h1]Final Thoughts[/h1]
Something I'm uncertain about is how the cards are programmed, and whether it's made so that you can technically always win a round, even if you can't perfect it. Seeing how I won every round I attempted, I think that's likely. Plus, I believe its more flexible rules makes it easier to set that up than original solitaire. Assumptions aside, it can be a bit frustrating drawing for a single card that seemingly won't come, or missing a perfect clear when it really wasn't your fault.
Having said that, I think the difficulty balance is just about right. The game isn't so easy your mind completely shuts off, but also not too hard you're routinely flummoxed by unfair situations. Even if that's the case, at the end of the day this is just a solitaire game, and that isn't the kind of thing that'll hold my attention a long time. I think a decent effort was made to create an engaging experience, and it did a better job than I've encountered from similar concepts, although it's not the best looking. Regardless, I'd still recommend FS, even if it isn't my cup of tea. Well, in theory you might skip the Classic version for the Remaster, but that will have to wait for another review. Not like that'll take long though.

This is a card game where you need to finish the cards by choosing a higher or lower value than the card you already have. Complete all the stages, all the challenges and unlock all the pets.
When you start playing the game, you need to change the sound settings, otherwise you will not be able to hear the story clearly over the loud music. I do wish that the talking was separate from the other sounds, as the sounds are extremely loud during the game and the voice is a lot softer than the other sounds.
I have an issue with the fact that even though you have evolved a pet, you can hatch the exact same pet and have to evolve again. It does not really makes sense. It is therefore really difficult to complete a set to take a screenshot, as every now and then one has changed. I really wanted complete screenshots of all the sets.
I bought the remake on a 90% discount and also received this game. Overall it is a really fun game to play.
The art style is really beautiful even for the age of the game.
The music and sounds were also nice even though I had to struggle with the settings a lot.
The story of the game is interesting and it is integrated quite nicely with the art and stages.
The game is a bit of a grind and it takes almost 40 hours to complete this game and unlock all the achievements. The resources are quite rare and you need to complete a lot of levels in order to unlock all of the pets. I do not think that this is a game that you want to play for 40 hours to be honest, but overall it is not a bad game.

플탐 늘리는 요소인 펫이란게 있음
장착해서 경험치 먹여 부화시키고 카드까서 자원먹고 부화시켜서 도과 언락하는 용도
스테이지마다 목표가 있는데 콤보를 해서 몇분 내에 보라색 게이지를 다채워라나 모든 카드를 다 맞춰라 골드 얼마를 모아라 이 세가지가 로테이션으로 나옴
아이템을 다 사면 골드가 쓸모가 없는데 조커 카드가 없고 숫자카드만 카드 넘길때마다 랜덤으로 나옴
그래서 게임이 스피디하지않고 수작업으로 맞춰야 하고 게임 자체도 쉬운편이라 잠이 옴
도전과제는 쉬운편인데 위에 언급한 펫 모두 부화나 골드 100만 모으기 같은 시간 걸리는 요소가 있음

[i]Faerie Solitaire[/i] is a nice, addictive game great for casual playing with a little twist to the classic Solitaire formula.
The story is simple but serves the purpose well so you don't aimlessly repeat one solitaire game after another. I liked the card's visual and background graphics which change accordingly to the story progression. The music is fine, voice acting though a little bit mediocre. But all in all, it works together.
There are 40 levels in total divided into 8 "worlds". Each level consists of 9 Solitaire games and a set of goals that have to be completed before moving to the next level. If you don't meet the goals you need to repeat the whole level, which can happen occasionally. As you clear the board from the cards you can uncover collectibles - various materials and eggs of magical creatures. When you find an egg you can then keep it on an active spot, where it will hatch as you play. If you have enough of the desired materials you can then evolve it! The pets are just collectible for your amusement and don't serve any other purpose, which is a shame on one hand, but when we consider the overall amount of pets (32), it would be a bit too much of a hassle to give them some active bonuses.
With every win, you are also collecting money which you can spend on getting sweet bonuses that are quite helpful in the long run.
My only complaint concerns the amount of grinding that is necessary for you to collect and evolve all the pets. Finding the collectibles is random and I simply didn’t have enough magic most of the time. ^^
As I said, [i]Faerie Solitaire[/i] is a good relaxing casual game. Just be prepared that one playthrough may not be enough for 100% completion.
Fun simple card game. Not quite solitare though.
Achievements are all reachable which is always a plus.

И хотя я считаю, что ремастер лучше, т.к. рассчитан на современные системы, эта игра все еще заслуживает внимания. Это игра из далекого времени расцвета качественных и душевных инди-игр, когда их делали, потому что любили делать игры.

Beim Kauf der normalen Version sollte es außerdem die Remastered Version kostenlos dazugeben, was ganz nett ist.
Für ein Spiel aus 2010 ist die Grafik nicht perfekt, aber akzeptabel.
Das Spiel selbst ist normales Solitär, aber mit einigen Zusatzpunkten wie “Kräften” die einen das Spiel erleichtern sollen.
Insgesamt empfehlenswert wenn man es im Angebot kauft. Die meisten Errungenschaft sind ziemlich leicht zu kriegen bis auf die letzten paar die einige Zeit an farmen erfordern.

Как то 100 лет назад, я решил купить эту игру, чтобы получить предмет в TF2. Тогда я не придал этой игре значения, но спустя много лет, решился её пройти, и знаете, она отлично расслабляет после работы.
Придя с очередной смены, не всегда есть желание сразу сесть за какую нибудь заваленную контентом игру, где надо ebаtь себя в мозг. И тут Faerie Solitaire выручает, знай себе сиди и выщёлкивай карты, вообще ни о чем не думая.
Но в этой версии игры есть проблема. Надо фармить как не в себя, чтобы вырастить весь зверинец, особенно туго выпадает дерево, днём с огнём не сыщешь. А тем временем у тебя уже накоплено полляма, которые даже некуда тратить.
Благо в ремастере эти проблемы исправили.
За фулл прайс брать не стоит, ждите скидку.

It is a common and known issue for your save file to get corrupted causing you to lose all progress. Be sure to back up your save file manually on a regular basis if you play.
A total comfort game and experience. Cards with faeries. And the HD improvements are so good when they rebooted it.

Поиграв в Remaster и мобильный порт, могу уверенно сказать, что авторы отлично реализовали и доработали недостатки игру.
Да это вполне классический настольный Solitaire, правда с казуальными магическими умениями и множителями для более простого / увлекательного погружения.
Тем не менее, если Вы не любитель перебирать карты и вовсе никогда не получали наслаждение от подобных игр, рекомендовал бы её пропустить. Однако для тех же кто любит добрую фентезийную атмосферу и меланхоличный игровой процесс с картами, возможно Faerie Solitaire (2009) способна привлечь Ваше внимание.

Fun Solitaire game.
Entertaining. This is a solitaire game with a little bit of a campaign on it. The graphics are decent. Ok music. Simple story that only serves to stitch the scenarios together.
No bugs but the game always crashes when you close it. Not a big deal, you just need to close it again. Works fine on Win 7.
Now, this is entertaining in the exact way solitaire with some mechanics could be. They give you some other stuff to do like collecting "pets" that you can evolve with some resources you get now and then while playing, but those "pets" have no effect in the game so it's just for adding some filler and dubious fun. Anyway, it's a decent time-waster. It includes cards and reasonable achievements. Good for casual gamers and a fair deal for the price.
Got this as a gift. 2 hours on record are from card farming.
Odd take on the solitaire genre that isn't very interesting. Boring story. I recommend looking at Zachtronics Solitaire Collection if you enjoy solitaire-like games.

На каждый этап игроку дается цель - в зависимости от выбранного уровня сложности, это может быть как что-то простенькое и ненавязчивое, так и довольно сложное и времязатратное, как-то "выбить все 9 подуровней идеально" или "набить определенное количество карт в последовательности".
За победу в уровнях мы получаем очки, читай - денежные средства, которые можно потратить на обустройство собственного уголка в мире фей. Более того, за покупку улучшений наш герой открывает доступ к дополнительным возможностям и приятным бонусам, служащим для облегчения игрового процесса.
Отдельной фишкой игры можно считать сбор яиц различных существ, которые автоматически помещаются в наш импровизированный инкубатор, где из них с течением времени вылупляется что-нибудь неожиданное. По большому счету, сделано это как дополнительная возможность скрасить местам однообразный игровой процесс, и, надо признать, задумка неплохая.
Солитер на первый взгляд довольно минималистичен, однако, вместе с тем, имеет абсолютно полный набор того, чего, собственно, и ждешь от игр подобного плана. Графически игра выполнена достаточно приятно, музыкальное сопровождение спокойное, не вызывает раздражения. Имеется набор разнообразных достижений Steam, русского языка нет, но и текста, как такового, не много. Ценник на игру считаю однозначно завышенным, однако по скидке вполне можно присмотреться, если ищете качественную убивалку времени.

Para quem curte jogos puzzle é uma boa pedida, não vai ser exatamente um Solitaire como conhecemos (Paciência), aqui temos que zerar o tabuleiro usando as cartas próximas a que temos na mão. Para quem jogou o Microsoft Solitaire Collection, é basicamente o Tripeaks, nesse caso será simples e fácil de se acostumar.
Se você for pelas conquistas será complicado pois tem um grind alto em duas ou três conquistas, mas boa parte das demais serão desbloqueadas conforme for jogando.
Pelo preço cobrado sinceramente não vale, a versão remasterizada é exatamente a mesma coisa mas com engine melhorada e ficando sempre no mesmo preço, mas se pegar em um bundle e não tiver a remaster vale a pena dar uma olhada.
Está entretenido.

A fun twist on solitaire. I really enjoyed passing the time with this game. The achievements are pretty passive, so you don't have to pay too much attention to them, you'll get them as you go. The story is fun too. I think it glitched on me once and I had to close out and restart the whole level. And there was a weird thing it would do if you minimized the game and then expanded it. But other than that, it was delightful. I liked it so much I went on to play the remastered version!

Es entretenido, pero hasta ahí. Yo hice todos los logros haciendo 2 campañas y los desafíos más o menos, y lo volvería a jugar al tiempo.

A version of solitaire with faeries, for whatever reason. I love solitaire and this game gives me exactly what I wanted. Sometimes I just need to sit back and relax and load up any game without plots to follow or controls to remember, this is the kind of game that achieves that.
