Насчет игры она сделана идеально в стиле Final Fantasy где ваш выбор определяет действие персонажа, система прокачивания в норме а кастомизация персонажей самый сок! Можете сделать кота самурая или же волшебницу милфу. Достижение это как испытания для игрока собери их все! Может показаться что это скучно и душно но вы будете довольны своим результатом. Короче итог: игра имба советую всем

The game is a good RPG with depth and additional modes which increase replayability, and i would recommend the game if not for the horrible dev.

The guy is straight up glazing terrorists on social media, he's the typcial "i support the current thing" type of person you find on blusky, which is very sad.

A lesson to take from this would be to never mix ur private account with the ones u do dev updates on, i wont buy/play any of his games anymore.

Да, тут могут быть вопросы по квестам, какой то логике, ну а че вы хотели, игру делал один чел в соло. Зато благодаря этому вышла уникальная игра с кучей отсылок, рофлов и просто приятного время провождения на сотни часов. Сначала играл на телефоне, решил поддержать разраба и допройти на пк. Крч годнота!

Best turn-based RPG I've ever played. Gameplay is rather complex and very fun and interesting with a large amount of elements, statuses, abilities, and such, but I've never found myself overwhelmed by it and it's rather easy to know what generally will and won't work on a particular foe. Skill cooldowns feel a lot balanced compared to the MP system of the older games which just let you spam skills and didn't matter 90% of the time. It also allows for super powerful skills like Nine Lives, Phyrnna's Blessing and such to exist without breaking the game, which is cool.

I particularly like the capturing system, it adds a cool extra layer to fights since you can instantly capture most foes provided they're hurt enough with debuffs and statuses. This includes bosses. Fun!

The art is some of the best in the series, and is definitely a lot more polished and clean than earlier EBF games. The music by Phyrnna/Ziyan Su is excellent (shoutouts to du5k whatevery that has a puzzle in it that ends in a rickroll). And the game generally has a lot of charm to it.

The two weak point of EBF5 to me is the story and optimization. It's certainly the best in the main series, featuring a less simple plotline than 4 and having actual character development. But there isn't much competition and the story itself is relatively simple and isn't focused on that much. Doesn't need to be, though. As for optimization, this game lags like hell on older machines. Smaller window sizes may help, but that's inconvenient to play with. A 2x framespeed option like in older EBF games would be nice, but it isn't in 5 unless you use the Tough Love mod (currently only available via the EBF Discord, which is not a good way to have mods available).

On other notes, there's a good amount of replayability to this game via Custom Games, the sheer variety of equipment available, and some fanmade mods. Kupo (the main creator of EBF) posts updates on whatever he's working on his socials and website often, and actively gives tech support for the game and icons for mods. Very cool.

Epic Battle Fantasy 5 is very good at living up to its name.

I would like to say that I've paid attention to Matt's games since Epic Battle Fantasy 2 first released on Kongregate, and I want to avoid pitting my nostalgic lens on this game because- for the record- EBF3 and 4 were the games that really introduced me to JRPGs. I've played this game both on my phone and my computer, that's how much I liked it.

I really like this game. The unique gimmick of a non-existent MP bar is really something I don't see very often, and this creates a really interesting combo system, especially because there's no initiative system; that is, your characters almost ALWAYS act first in the order of sequence they are assigned in.

This means that you can basically set up an optimal combo right from the get-go. The skill tree system is pretty simple too, learn skills, upgrade them as you obtain BP from fights. The grinding itself is very reminiscent of old RPG games, it takes a bit of time and is a slog, but it's alright. Most of this game is pretty easy to get through, but will test your knowledge on skill relationships and combos.

It's pretty sick; every character feels defined to their given purpose and the fact that two party members can be put on reserve but can also be affected by skills makes the combat system shine quite a bit.

The story itself is largely simplistic in nature. I never liked that EBF5 was effectively a retcon and kind of reset everyone's relationships, but I got over it; the dialogue is quirky and very much the dialogue expected in the late 2010s, and it's not like the lore was incredibly extensive. I always liked Natalie and Anna, but Lance and Matt's chemistry was unparalleled...That and Natalie is just very cute in general.

The fan works room was always my favorite to go through; I really enjoyed seeing the passion people had for this franchise.

I think the UI is pretty dated now that we're in 2026. The grind is a hassle, and I won't speak about some of the bosses' egregious health bars. This is the kind of game you play like a marathon, so I don't recommend blasting through it or you'll get burnt out.

There's quite a bit of side content; seriously, there's a lot. There's really no other games that put forth this kind of effort. Maybe Clair Obscur?

I recommend this game. It's the kind of creativity you don't really see outside of Newgrounds. I think Matt put a lot of passion into this game and this franchise; and he still makes games to this day! He seems like a good guy and I look forward to seeing future products by him.

A great but admittedly somewhat tedious RPG.

The main focus here is on its gameplay, story is pretty basic and dialogue between characters (as well as flavor text) helps the overall pacing from the constant and often long battles.

On that topic, the combat system is pretty interesting, you don't have the usual MP bar, instead some skills have cooldowns. You can also change your equipment mid-fight which is incredibly useful when facing off against various waves of enemies. Unfortunately some characters are professional bench warmers until the late game. If you find a team that works it can carry you throughout 90% of the game until you hit the endgame content.

My main complaint is that sometimes the battles can really drag on, usually due to some enemies' incredibly high HP bar. It's an interesting challenge, having to not only make use of status ailments but summons as well, however by the late game these types of fights just grew more tedious.

As for the summoning mechanic, it's essentially a monster catching gimmick that can completely break the game. Some of them are absolutely overpowered while others are made completely useless by the equipment your characters can have.

Visually the game's artstyle is very charming, reminiscent of early newgrounds as well as its writing. The music is absolutely amazing, each track just makes itself very different from each other.

There's also a lot, and I mean A LOT of side content. I'm still deciding on wether or not to actually tackle the 100%, but until then, I heavily reccomend playing this rpg.

Epic Battle Fantasy 5 is a good game, but I do have mixed feelings about it. In some ways, it's the culmination of what came before it, but with enough done different to make it stand out as almost a soft reboot. The story and pacing early on feels a bit off, with the Iron Fortress in particular being a low point for me, but after the party is fully assembled, it's mostly smooth sailing from there. Skill cooldowns instead of mana and changes to buff-stacking make combat feel fresh, and the addition of capturing foes was unexpected but welcome. Having only three of five party members active at a time felt clunky at first, but it does add a nice additonal layer to combat once you get used to it. Overall, It isn't my favourite of the series, but that's not to say I wouldn't recommend it to someone who knows what they're getting into. It's a JRPG through and through, with dialogue filled with that signature EBF wit, and it's a pretty good time.

One of the main characters is a N@zi (nazi). You pick up a note in his place with 88 on it, which is H*tler's number, He wears nazi uniform and the flags hung around his place is the same as a nazi symbol (red outside, white circle and black symbol). I would be fine if this nazi was a villain and we kill him and we show how nazis are racist. But this character joins our team... instead of showing this nazi as a villain, they presented him similar to Bowser, kidnapping pretty girls in his castle, very cartoony. The creators' defense is "none of the characters are good people, they loot and kill animals" looting isnt even remotely the same amount of bad as being a Nazi, also the two girls scold the guy for stealing anyway

Truly amazing game. I've been playing EBF since I was a kid, playing the original flash games on the family computer, and it holds up just as well today as it did then. Memorable, fun characters, easy to understand but hard to master gameplay, and plenty of challenges that add to the experience without taking away from the base game. Obviously I'm a little biased, but if you like JRPGs that are fun to play while not taking themselves too seriously, definitely worth the full price.

This game is "labor of love" incarnate. Strap in. There is a lot to praise and much to review.

[h2]General[/h2]
The UI is incredibly readable, many mechanics basically explain themselves or are easily understood by clicking through menus, guidance is given in short, bite-sized amounts that often make use of context. For example: Buffs and debuffs to attributes do not stack, they override each other. This will only be mentioned once it becomes relevant, reducing the amount of information given to the player at once.
I have some criticism about the environment's readability, however. While very pretty (see below), some block puzzles had me wondering if they can even be solved simply due to parts of their area being covered by foliage or other decorative elements. This might, of course, be intentional.

[h2]Gameplay[/h2]
You are looking at a game called Epic "[b]Battle[/b] Fantasy 5". Guess what you will be doing a lot of the time?
This game lives and dies by having a good battle system. And damn, this game gets it RIGHT.
Let me give you the gist of it: Every character has a basic attack as well as special attacks unique to that particular character. By fulfilling quests, you may receive additional moves that are not bound to a character. These can be attached to whoever may use them without losing the move's level, allowing for a considerable amount of character customization.
Parties take turns, no ATB involved, and the order in which characters act can be chosen at will. While only three party members may participate in active combat, swapping them out mid-combat is possible. Even dead party members can be sent to the bench to make room for a healthy one.
In fact the bench itself adds a whole strategic layer, as they do not get put in some sort of magic stasis. Time continues to run for them, they gain natural health generation and status effects run their course. On the other hand, buffs will run out as well and damage over time effects will still hurt them. Some enemies may even damage benched members, so they are by no means safe.
Add to these aspects that powerful skills are locked behind cooldowns and you will find that the primary resource is [i]time[/i]. You need to make do with the turns you have and balance damage output with healing, buffs and debuffs. It is deceptively simple, but you will find that you have to adapt and strategize before long.

Outside of combat... well, the "quests" are nothing special, to be frank. You have your fetch quests, some of which cover the entire map. You have slaughter quests which tie in with the above. And you have damn block puzzles, which I thought had been outlawed when the N64 reached end of life. Luckily, the Steam guide section contains solutions for all of them, so there you go.

Optional content is there, but I will not be spoiling anything beyond the obvious. The in-game gallery is beautiful and contains some nice fan art. Cheats and challenges mix things up a bit.

[h2]Graphics[/h2]
Pretty. Pretty, pretty, [b]pretty[/b]. This is Flash at its absolute finest and yes, I am very sad that the technology was abandoned.

Of course, it's not just about Flash, it's also about using it. We have secondary motion, we have great facial expressions, icons are easily recognizable, animations for attacks pack a punch, spells are beautiful, designs are creative and environments are unique. Limit breaks are completely over the top, as they should be for a game like this.
I do not have a single complaint about the graphics, except for the placement of assets (see above).

[h2]Music[/h2]
The soundtrack was composed by Phyrnna, much like the soundtracks for EBF3 and EBF4. And it is, once again, amazing. The soundtrack always fits the mood of the environment, there are many different styles to be found and some of them just stick with you for the rest of the day. Looking at you, Fight The Movement.
If a good soundtrack is a "make or break" aspect for you, this one can be found on all popular streaming platforms.

[h2]Story & Humor[/h2]
Yes, humor. You'll see why.
The story is surprisingly good for a game that has its characters lean again the fourth wall for support. It has its twists and turns, broken up by map progression and bosses. Characters have different relationships with one another, they have a reason for working together, there is notable development. All of it is well-written... and still goofy as hell.

Let's be real here. A paper bag qualifies as head gear. One of your first party members (five minutes in) is a limbless cat named NoLegs. Party members spout quips and have hilarious idle animations while fighting eldritch abominations. This game is light-hearted at its core.

If you like Final Fantasy and want a fun and quirky game with surprisingly deep mechanics, it doesn't get any better than this. EBF5 is a masterpiece.

This is my favorite game of this series as the plot twist at the end and how all the players do not know each other. The graphics are the retro-type as well as the gameplay is RPG style where you can do elemental damage. The characters are lovable. The plot was amazing. The exploraation of optional areas, dungeons and bosses are alos amazing. The gallery is also cool with the fan art and how to access each room, you will need to unlock medals which are achievements for this game. I would give this game a 9/10 and the diffculty a 8/10.

One of the BEST RPG games I've ever played. The gameplay is great, the OST is amazing, the characters are enjoyable and the story is good fun. It's a great experience and it has many great features such as fleeing from bosses, the reworked summon system which is quite good (very annoying for bosses but that is to be expected), a good elemental system just like the past games. This game also has great side content too. Since buying the steam version gives you the side content you otherwise wouldn't have on other versions like the mobile port, it adds a nice few extra dungeons and bosses, and I like how they brought back the evil players from EBF4 but changed it up a little.

If you are considering purchasing this but are unsure. I recommend you play EB3 first, that game is free on steam and while it has significantly less content and the game is only like 10 hours, it serves as a great start to the gameplay as EBF3 4 and 5 all have similar systems, no random encounters, gender specific armour, weapon types, weapon shops, the elemental system etc. The only thing EBF 5 changes up really is the lack of an MP meter (which is replaced in this game by a turn cooldown system), the way summons work is more like pokemon with capturing them rather than finding them in chests like EBF4 (EBF3 doesnt have summons) and as far as I know thats it really.

If you like RPG games, do check this one out. This game is actually amazing.

It's nearly impossible to talk about why I like this game without writing an entire essay, but to say it's one of the best RPGs ever made would legitimately be an underestimate. EBF5 is filled with so much content that even after 37 hours sunk in I haven't even beat it once. It has like hundreds of weapons: each with extremely different effects, character customization that literally affects your characters. Instead of having an SP system it's just a cooldown so you can spam endlessly satisfying special effects. The plot isn't anything to write home about (the description literally jokes about this with the line "things ebf5 doesn't have: depressed characters") but instead it focuses on just trying to have a memorable cast and DAMN does it flow well, the characters are all hilarious and their interactions are wacky and silly. The game also makes it feel like EVERY encounter matters and in any other game an average EBF fight would be a boss level: It gives you challenge for EVERY encounter.

Buy it: It's 25 USD but it's honestly worth 50 with the amount of time and fun you'll get out of it.

Mas sério, Epic Battle Fantasy 5 é um dos melhores RPG de Turno que você vai encontrar. Inúmeros equipamentos e habilidades que não se tornam inúteis com o seu avanço, você pode atribuir qualquer função a qualquer personagem, mesmo que estes claramente já têm uma função padrão (tipo o Matt como guerreiro, mas tu pode fazer uma build de curandeiro para ele, por quê não?).

As épicas batalhas podem parecer repetitivas, mas o jogo sempre apresenta algum desafio, seja no sistema de clima te atrapalhando/ajudando, na formação dos inimigos, nas estratégias de alguns deles em controlar o clima, atacar algum personagem molhado com magia de raio ou sem buffs. Até mesmo suas próprias estratégias deixam tudo mais interessante. Pensa que tu pode capturar os inimigos e invocar eles depois, isso inclui até mesmo o boss final, foda né?

O jogo tem aí suas 24~28 horas se você focar na história, mas com a quantidade de conteúdo extra, faz você gastar umas 40 horas facilmente. Eu não estou falando só de quest fulera de coletar itens (porque isso tem também), há dungeons opcionais com chefes novos (e difíceis, vai tomar no ## Neon Valhalla), os fliperamas secretos, a Grande Galeria que se expande com a quantidade de conquistas que você tem, e o temível Templo dos Desafios.

Se isso não bastasse, tem ainda a opção de começar um novo jogo com funções piruletas, como a função de mudar completamente os equipamentos, remixar os inimigos e climas das áreas, randomizar os equips.... dá pra gastar umas 100 horas tranquilamente nesse jogo.

Não é necessário jogar os jogos passados, mas jogar eles primeiro será melhor para a sua experiência, pois você já saberá como tudo funciona, vai se perguntar por quê diabos a barra de mana não tá nesse jogo, vai entender que os cooldowns equilibram as batalhas, e vai pegar as referências dos jogos passados.

Cara, que jogo bom. É bonito, tem personagens carismáticos, cheio de referências a outras obras, e uma trilha sonora simplesmente linda. Zerei no celular e agora zerei de novo na Steam, só não esperava que o chefe final fosse ser mais complicado aqui (talvez porque dessa vez eu não diminui a dificuldade e joguei pra valer feito um verdadeiro gamer). Recomendo muito, é definitivamente uma experiencia épica

As both a fan of turn-based RPGs - having completed Expedition 33 and Yakuza 7 & IF among others - and a long-time follower of the Epic Battle Fantasy series ever since the 4th installment, all I can say is: BUY THIS GAME! You won't regret it, even moreso after the v2.0 update which added so much content I'm suprised the price didn't double.

Matt Rosak, Phyrnna and the Epic Battle Fantasy 5 team deserve all of the support they get for single-handedly carrying my childhood and redefining my standards for the RPG genre as a whole. From the amazing gameplay to the stunningly beautiful soundtracks that I still listen to outside of the game, this has been an emotional send-off to the Epic Battle Fansy series. Thank you all!

After beating the game twice and 100%ing the game, EBF5 is the most fun i have ever had in a turn-based RPG, it is so good it has permanently and irreversibly raised my standards in RPGs. The fights are challenging and strategic but there is rarely ever a need to grind. EBF5 can also still be enjoyed if you haven't played EBF1-4. Overall EBF5 is the best RPG i ever played.

I don't know what to even say here that hasn't been echoed a thousand times before.

Is this the best Indie RPG of all-time? Most likely.
Is this one of the best RPGs of all-time? Absolutely.
Is this a masterclass in the genre that should be treated as study material for any would-be developers hoping to make an RPG of their own? Without a single doubt.

Everything about this game screams "refined". It's easily created the best combat system in RPG history. Every single tool you have, is used. Every piece of equipment, every skill you learn, has purpose. From the starter gear to the endgame items post-Secret Bosses. You can and will find a purpose for everything you gain. It solves one of the biggest problems of RPGs where you just outgrow certain abilities/equips through its upgrade system. It lets you bring starter items and tier 1 skills, to the endgame. Which you will have purpose for using because of enemy element types and turn cooldowns on your stronger abilities. Combining that with such a well-balanced system, makes for one of the best experiences you can find in a turn-based RPG.

The writing is perfect for the tone of the series. It's a lighthearted narrative focusing more on the antics of the party, less any big, overarching story for most of the game. Expect a story that at surface level, doesn't take itself too seriously until the end, but instead prioritizes you building (or rebuilding) a connection with the cast.

The art style is absolutely gorgeous, too. Everything is just so charming to look at. Between the cutscenes, overworld, battle sprites and animations, the game just looks SO good. And its style, like its gameplay, is timeless. This game looked great 7 years ago, and will still look great 20 years from now. We NEED more games that use unique styles, and this series is some of the strongest proof of that.

In closing? Play this game. It's an absolute gem, and easily claims the spot as the best RPG I've ever played. I lucked out back in the Flash days of finding EBF1/2/3 on random Flash sites. The fact it's still relatively unknown even in the Indie scene, is shocking. Epic Battle Fantasy is to RPGs, what Hollow Knight is to Metroidvanias. And if this truly is the final Epic Battle Fantasy? As much as it would suck to not get to experience another new game in this series? I don't blame Matt. It'd be damn-near impossible to improve upon this. And what a hell of a high note to end the series on.

And if you're reading this, Matt? You made a masterpiece that contends with any title by any major developer. Few games will ever achieve the quality and legacy EBF has achieved. And thank you for making a series that always reminds me why I love RPGs to begin with. Looking forward to your future projects, as well! I know you'll continue making exceptional experiences.

Steam 并没有中评的概念，虽然这个游戏内容量巨大，但在我痛苦的游玩体验下，我决定给予差评。

先说说我感觉好的地方：过场小剧情都是卡片童话风的，我很喜欢，画得也很可爱。卡片每张都专门绘了大图，游戏还有丰富的装备与技能系统，以及汇集了各类二创作品的画廊。这些也是我坚持游玩结束的一部分动力。

接下来就全是让我难受，甚至是痛苦的地方了。

第一，堆怪。很难想象，一个只有三个前台角色的游戏，在前期（甚至不是中期），就基本全都是五人规模的群怪了，甚至多波连战。角色的技能在后期可以说才能升级出没有回合冷却的群体攻击，这就造成了极其尴尬的局面：前期等技能冷却，纯纯消磨时间；后期技能无冷却，却又秒不掉敌人，照样浪费时间。除去少部分的解谜宝箱，大部分箱子就摆在明面上，箱前还守着一只怪，但你还不得不开，因为所有宝箱都长一个样，你根本不知道里面会不会藏着真正有用的东西，而不是一堆后期靠偷取就能轻松拿到的素材。这游戏的战斗机制，也是我玩过的 RPG 里少有的相当无聊的一种：要么为了刷史诗成就，就得叠满 buff 慢慢耗；要么选最低难度过图，照样要一波接一波地磨。这也是第一个让我忍不住边挂短视频边通关的游戏。

第二，限时任务敷衍。一般而言，我个人不是很抵触限时任务，比如以前玩《天坛之眼》时就有万圣节的特定南瓜收集成就，我也会默契地修改系统时间来游玩。问题是，这个游戏的限时任务只有一种模板，那就是杀怪掉东西，然后给 NPC 换几个节日道具，然后交差，然后买点限时装备（还除了鞭炮基本都没啥用）。也罢，刷吧，这竟然还是概率掉落，要大型怪才高概率掉落那么一两个，这就和第一点的堆怪问题完美踩雷。

第三，挑战区域零经验。这个游戏有一些挑战区域，相比较主线地图而言会有那么几个有点意思的解谜，会有几个高级 BOSS。然而，这些挑战区域是没有任何经验奖励的，但是里面更能堆怪，宝箱当然还是被看守着。当然，只要开启挑战里的怪物升级，那就可以获取经验了，我只能说这思路天才。这点经验其实根本破坏不了游戏平衡，这个设计唯一的作用，就是让我在游玩过程种一看到挑战区域就犯恶心，不想进去，因为我知道里面又要面对没完没了的没啥奖励的怪海。

第四，史诗难度。一个全程被秒的模式，说实话，因为这关联着挑战勋章，我个人其实并不怎么抵触这种勋章设计。我真正难受的是，史诗难度的体验无聊到极致。很简单，反正不上满 buff 那就死干净，反正不叠复活就没法输出，那就硬拖呗。一次挑战就要拖好久。到了神殿，哇，小怪 33 轮连战，游戏机连战，挑战 BOSS 连战，是真喜欢连战啊，再来个 30 轮无尽模式，想看个奖励房间要我命。

第五，恶意藏东西。我讨厌，无比讨厌这种设计，我真的很讨厌在一圈开关旁边的墙后面还藏一个开关，太垃圾了。这种设计除了打击解谜玩家琢磨谜题的心思，我不知道还有什么好处，可能也只有直接看攻略的玩家能笑得出来。

第六，不第六了，我累了，不想再给这个游戏贡献精力了，你要好奇我给你个提示词：抓宠系统概率。

总而言之，你能看到我这篇评价，那想必你也是比较谨慎的游戏玩家，也是一种缘分。因为这个游戏一来是老游戏了，二来评测是好评如潮的，这代表没有多少人会在入手前专门去翻翻差评。我只有一个建议，而且你可以参考试试：找一个这个游戏的实况视频，随便点点看看前期中期后期，看看游戏的核心设计，再判断以如今的 RPG 游戏标准和丰富度，你能不能接受这种体验，最后再决定要不要入手。
