Graphics are great, specially the main characters. The gameplay is what you'd expect from a AA God of War like game, some platforming can be frustrating and I feel the in game currency feels a little irrelevant, but overall it's an enjoyable game with a good story, interesting mechanics, and it doesn't overstay it's welcome. I could definitely do without the boat sections.

The game was much bigger than I expected. The design luckily gets more variation than always more of the same from the beginning.
I am still not completely sure what the story is about ^^ But is has nice puzzles with a lot of mechanics.
Nothing too complicated to get frustrated.
The was a crash in the skill tree when I had HDR enabled (did not see any huge difference anyway). But that may be because I played on Linux (CachyOS).

Honnestly, it's pretty good !

Nothing in there is revolutionary but it does have a few very interesting mechanics (with the illusions and preservers) All in all, it' a solid and well rounded game. Combat is specially satisfying with the telekinetic elements. I'll never get tired of throwing enemies into traps or off a cliff !

I really enjoyed this game. It has an refreshingly different fantasy setting, interesting story, beautiful, varied scenery and it looks and runs great! It's pretty rare these days to have a nice game that runs well...

The gameplay is a mix of environmental puzzles and combat with sword fighting and various magical abilities. Throughout the whole journey you'll unlock new abilities which will expand the way you solve puzzles, traverse the landscape and fight enemies. Every area has a different kind of twist to the puzzles, which really makes each place feel fresh and prevents the puzzles feeling repetitive.

If you like puzzles and combat with magic, I definitely recommend this.

A really strong debut game from a small studio. I'm looking forward to what they make next... Hopefully a sequel to Echoes of the End!

I'm enjoying this game! The first hour was a bit boring, but then more of the characters and the story where introduced and things got more interesting. The game looks great and I love exploring all the castles and ruins. It is a linear game with a mix of the story line, exploring and environmental puzzles, and fighting enemies. It's well balanced and not too hard.

get stuck on the terrain during fights. unlikable heroine, boss drops green swords that dont despawn and do damage, nice. Lock on is useless on keyboard, roll and dodge into the bosses hit box, nice. i liked the puzzle aspects but the rest is leaving a bad taste.

God of War на мінімалках із жахливим дизайном рівнів. Абсолютно не розумію, чому в гри стільки позитивних відгуків. Геймплей нудний, повільний і одноманітний, а баги тільки добивають остаточно.

Компаньйони — просто катастрофа. Вони не допомагають, а радше дратують: стоять і чекають, поки ти натиснеш кнопку для очевидної дії, без якої далі все одно не пройти. У бою від них користі майже нуль — шкоду ворогам наносять суто символічну. Окремо бісить те, як через тупуваті діалоги тобі постійно розжовують лор і підказують розв’язання головоломок, ніби гравця тримають за повного ідіота.

Із плюсів — хіба що графіка та більш-менш пристойна оптимізація.

Дуже давно ігри не викликали в мене такого сильного розчарування.

The game is not horrible, very nice looking, story is kind of bland. Now comes the main charachter, why does she have a manly voice? Why is she barking orders nonstop at her brother? I get she wants to protect him but still she is very rude nonstop to him and actually kind of demeaning by always saying his power are worthless. If this does not bother you buy it, but i myself will be refunding based on this. No not every woman has to be sexy or sound great, but this is a bit too much and kills the game for me.

This game is interesting and fun to play! Lots of puzzles though. Scenery is beautiful and I am glad I got it for $20. My only gripe is the movement. It is very clunky and I often die because she jumps for height, not distance.

Hallo,
erstmal die Rätzel sind gut und die Welten auch, das game mit dem Joystick scheint gut zu funktionieren, mit der Tastatur bei mir ein Albtraum.
Man springt nach vorne und es geht in die andere Richtung, im Spiel fahlen mir God of War, Ghost of Tsushima und andere Gámez auf bei denen es extrem auffällt das es schon mal da war, Ähnlichkeiten können ja vorkommen, aber so. Eventuell ändert sich das ja mit der Tastatur oder es ist ein Bug der bei mir für die Probleme geführt haben.

The game is fun, and consists of combat, puzzles, and a bit of exploration. Combat can be fun at times but there isn't a huge variety of enemies or enemy strategies. Puzzles have some interesting mechanics also fun but a bit over used, story is solid, its good game considering its from a smaller team. Length and pacing are both solid. Times it feels like it can be a great game, but at other times it just misses the mark. a 7.5/10

I wouldn't say that I have a bad gaming laptop. But more than in the game, I spent time solving issues with lags and freezes, and this is probably my first such experience. I love fantasy, I love platformers (and this is exactly the kind of game), but I still haven't been able to enjoy it to the fullest.
About the advantages of this game, there are settings for people with color blindness (protanomaly in my case). Thanks to the developers for this, the image was really bright!
P. S. And thanks to luck, I got the game during the sale period!

WOW! I love this game. Finally a story driven game with awesome graphics, a great story, lovable characters and an interesting fight system. I play on Story Mode because I don't enjoy fights. So for me, this is the perfect way to enjoy the game. The pathing is pretty linear, which I like. NO MORE endless open world. There is not a lot to explore, so if you're a quest or grindy kind of person, this isn't the game for you. There is some hidden items and a few puzzles to be solved but nothing too exhausting. For me, this is a very playable, easy-going game, that takes you on a journey.

Very pleasant- and unexpectedly so for me- experience with this game. Visuals are appealing with a vibrant color palette and some impressive vistas. Gameplay-wise, there are equal portions of puzzle solving (minimum hand-holding and thank you for that), fast pace platforming and of course combat. Each of this elements makes its appearance at the right stage of the characters journey and in my opinion doesn't overstay its welcome. Finally i have to mention the excellent performances of the VO actors and especially by the main villainess. So if you are for looking for a good linear action game that doesn't abuse your spare time with meaningless content, i would say this is your game. Well done to the dev team and i will watching their next steps.

Echoes of the End — это приключенческий экшен с видом от третьего лица и дебютный проект исландской студии Myrkur Games который черпает вдохновение в известных тайтлах. Игра происходит в фэнтезийном мире Аэма — некогда единой империи, ныне расколотой на враждующие нации. Континент стоит на пороге тотальной войны, и в этом хаосе древние, забытые силы начинают пробуждаться.

Геймплейно перед нами взята формула God of War (2018), но без ее размаха. Главная героиня Рин способная управлять могущественной, но нестабильной магией и боевая система строится на синергии двух ключевых элементов: виртуозного владения мечом и разрушительной магии. На магии Рин, так же завязаны решения головоломок: можно притягивать и отталкивать объекты, активировать механизмы и взаимодействовать с особыми зонами (с пространственными разрывами, открывающими невидимые пути или светящиеся дорожки, позволяющие перемещаться по вертикальным поверхностям). Многие элементы используются только один раз и больше не повторяются, что добавляет разнообразия этой части игры.

Визуальная часть игры приятная, Unreal Engine 5 воссоздаёт исландские пейзажи: заснеженные горы, вулканические разломы, древние постройки в тумане, бушующие водопады, северное сияние. Работа камеры построена по кинематографическим законам: крупные планы, плавные движения, уместные перебивки. Выглядит как дорогая кинокартина с качественной актерской работой и смесью скандинавских напевов, хора и оркестровых тем, еще больше помогает погрузиться в атмосферу.

Но и без минусов не обошлось:

Местами слабая реализация некоторых элементов окружения: где-то не хватает анимации у мелких элементов, а где-то она, наоборот, выглядит лишней, особенно сильно режут глаз шейдеры огня – они выглядят максимально неестественно. Подкачал и платформинг прыжков: Рин то не долетает до уступа, то перелетает — и досадные падения случаются чуть ли не после каждого второго прыжка. Боевой системе не хватает глубины, как и набору врагов, он очень скудный, а к концу игры сражения начинают заметно повторяться.

В итоге Echoes of the End красивое, слегка неровное, и всё же очень искреннее произведение от маленькой команды, которая захотела сделать нечто своё, рассказать личную и в то же время масштабную историю в фэнтезийном приключение, основанной на сагах, фольклоре и мифических пейзажах Исландии.

Neben den Rätseln, bleiben auch die Landschaften, Geschichte und die Charaktere in Erinnerung. Aber auch die 3 -4 Stellen, während man versucht zu springen, die Kante zu greifen. Sobald man mal begriffen hat das man auch einen Schritt in die Luft machen kann....dann geht's auch fluffig durch den Level. Die Steuerung in den Kämpfen macht Spaß. Auch weil Abram sich als echte Hilfe rausstellt. Kein Spiel ohne Makel, aber es unterhält.

There is something here under the hood but the presentation is hit and miss, not or, and. A lot of the animations (especially jump) seem odd and I am not a fan of a lot of the voice acting. It isnt bad per se, just almost like the characters dont quite fit their voices. The writing is sometimes good and sometimes bad. All that to say, I would still recommend on sale. It is fun enough and from what I understand not that long overall. And it does look quite good as well.

Update: no these janky controls stop being endearing and tolerable as of chapter 2. The game still looks good, there is a charm here but this is borderline unplayable past chapter 1.

Really wasted potential here. Because I really like simple linear action adventure games. But the game has some serious issues.

[h3]Writing and Characters[/h3]

Writing is really bad. Can't say the voice acting is great either. The old guy was good with the voice acting (I finished the game 2 weeks ago and already forgot the names). And he is the only interesting character in the game.
The story is so dull, and the main character is such an annoying one.

[h3]Tempo and Game Length[/h3]

The biggest issue with the game is definitely tempo. The puzzles take too much of the already extremely artificially lengthened game time, and it gets too boring.
This should not have been a 15-hour game. I rushed this, and even then, it lasted 12 hours. And believe me, it felt like 20 hours.
The game should have been half the length and half the price. It lasted too long; I was having seizures at the end.
The core gameplay loop is just extremely repetitive.

[h3]Optimization and Graphics[/h3]

Optimization is really bad. Yes, the game looks decent, even though it screams Unreal Engine 5 visually. It should have run better.

[h3]Some Good Ideas[/h3]

It has some good stuff. The developers really wanted to have some mechanical depth in gameplay, both in combat and puzzles. The environmental and enemy variety is also not bad. But the tempo really kills it.

It is an ambitious debut title, an unoriginal one that is, but that still does not save the boredom I experienced with Echoes of the End. If you don't have the budget and experience to do something extraordinary, you have to have some originality, your own character as a game, something to stand out in your game. Echoes of the End simply doesn't have that, sadly.

This is not even close to being worth 40$. I have never been so pissed off and frustrated with a game ever. The only redeeming qualities about this are the graphics, and boss designs/fights. Everything else is so frustrating and miserable. The main character is a very unlikable ♥♥♥♥♥. ALL the character have the corniest dialogue ever. The characters NEVER shut the ♥♥♥♥ up. The puzzles are misleading, and stupid. The gameplay is 45 min of puzzles per chapter, followed by random groups of 2-5 enemies in an area, then a boss fight. The story, and explanation of stuff happening around you is abysmal. This game LOVES to add random extra game mechanics that you use once in a certain chapter and never see again. I had next to no fun the entire time playing it. Play it on sale. I wouldn't pay more than 25$ for it knowing what I do now.

直情的すぎる主人公が受け入れられれば多分楽しいはず
自分にはきつかった

戦闘は簡単すぎて歯ごたえがなかった
吹き飛ばしがボスにも確定で怯みが取れるので、簡単に行動阻害が取れてしまうので
数回攻撃→吹き飛ばしで大体いける
ノーマルから難易度変えると違うのかも

The first two chapters are really great but around chapter 3 and 4 I was getting puzzle solving fatigue and fatigue of seeing trolls, bugs and swordsmen. Somewhere in there I was moving water mills to trigger moving platforms where I almost stopped playing, but from chapter 5 onwards this game felt it was at it's best and only builds momentum to the end. Even the puzzles become more fun, and I consider myself a fairly stupid idiot when it comes to puzzles. It's a pity that a fair chunk of the early game feels just okay, which almost sidelines the real greatness of the game. You can expect;
- Great use of magic and combat with a companion NPC complimenting your attacks. Everything is fluid and works well.
- Really beautiful environments that almost change completely every chapter, with unique enemies for certain areas.
- Characters are all well acted and well detailed, the story is pretty okay.

Some quibbles;
- You glide a fair bit when jumping. Not so much as if you are jetpack gliding in Destiny, but later on where it's important there are a few times where you need to trial and error where you're going to land, due to floating over where you think you'd fall from a jump.
- One of the antagonists at times feels like she just came out of a high school drama class.
- There is a boss that feels harder than the final boss, because the stupid animal has a splash aoe thrown at THE SAME TIME as he is attacking.

Highly recommended.

Very good first game for the studio! It looks quite good most of the time. There's a good variety of environments, enemies and in the combat sandbox. It faulters in a couple ways though. Animations can kinda be snappy and not smooth when performing certain actions. You can't rebind the controls on a controler. And the most crucial part, the button to bring up every ability you have access to decides by itself if it wants to be activated or not. Much of the time I'm hitting the abilities button to perform one, and it just doesn't do it. That needs to get fixed to make it much more playable. Even with that, it's very easy. I didn't die my whole playthrough on hard and halfway through I decided to skip all the health regen points. But I did enjoy it quite a lot! Keep making games!

Dobrý combat, vizuál a hudba. Hre som dala šancu na druhý pokus a hrala som ju dokopy 4 hodiny. 90% je to skôr puzzle hra, ako nejaká akcia, loot a enemáci s bossmi. Mala som úroveň Journey.. hneď prvý boss dosť ťažký na to že máte malo many a žiadny schopnosti. Je to taká kópia God of War. Na hru som sa tešila, lebo mám rada také typy RPG ale, tu by som povedala že sú to skôr puzzle...hra mohla mať potenciál avšak opakujúce sa hádanky na každom rohu ma veľmi nebavili. Chcelo to ešte na nej popracovať...škoda pre mňa sklamanie.

I really tried to like this game, but after getting about halfway through, I had to put it down. First off, I do want to say that this game does look gorgeous! One of the better examples of what Unreal Engine 5 can do. Unfortunately, the combat and exploration of this game leave a lot to be desired. Combat feels very clunky and stiff, and there are invisible walls everywhere! The checkpoints in this can also be rough at times because I had to redo some long encounters when I died. The combat isn't super challenging, but because of how stiff the combat is, you can get overwhelmed quickly if more than two enemies are there. The game tries to emulate the newer God of War in a lot of ways. A companion that gives help way too quickly, the companion has a stun attack set to a button command, and they have conversations while on a boat that is pretty much ripped right out of God of War 2018. They even copied the same mechanic of stopping the story when you dock the boat. There are also an insane amount of environmental puzzles. I got to chapter 5, and it seemed to be evening out a bit between puzzles and combat, but up until then, it was mostly puzzle-solving. They weren't super difficult, but there are times it feels like the controls are fighting against you while you're solving the puzzles. One thing I never really liked was the platforming. There were plenty of times when the companion has to pull you up or catch you on jumping sections, and the magnetism was easily visible. I easily could've made a lot of the jumps, but the game forces you to go where the companion is and locks you into that animation. The double jump you eventually get makes platforming a bit easier, but much like the combat, it just feels way too stiff and unforgiving. Add in the invisible walls and bad checkpoints, and some of the longer platforming sections/puzzles get really annoying.

It was on my wishlist for a while before I finally picked it up and I understand there was updates that improved it. Still a little clunky occasionally especially while jumping but the combat was fun while staying challenging enough for someone whos usually pretty trash at these kinds of games. The abilities were really cool and felt good to use.

Pretty decent PC I did also play with DLSS quality at 1440p to keep it over 100 fps which for the most part it was so performance is pretty typical

I liked the story quite a bit and as I saw some other reviews complaining about the main character I will say she was pretty dry but I thought that worked well for her character. Both the characters worked really well together story wise. Will be following the devs to see what they do next

I just completed the game and it brought me a lot of fun.

The fights were very good, and the abilities felt like they were dealing heavy impact. Throwing enemies and objects mid-fight just felt awesome!
The riddles felt new and not like I had seen them in every second other game. Even though some of them were a bit challenging, they were fair. Just in the right mix.
I like the scenery and with this very good graphics, I stayed several times, to enjoy the view.
Also the story was interesting to follow, without breaking the pace of the game. 15 hours of gameplay may not be the longest playtime, but I appreciate it, that there were no downtimes in the story and that the game follows its own narrative and comes to an end, instead of filling the time with boring tasks.

The one downside I see, is the movement. Even though the jumping passages where fun and fair, the transition between the elements had no clear movement. The character tends to snap to the following element, which seems a bit rough.

All in all, I am very happy that I tried this game. When you can to look past the rough movement in the jumping passages and you like games like the newer God of War, this game is definitely worth a try.

I really like this game reminds me of a god of war type game. THeere are still some major glitches when it comes to some of the cutscenes would play even though I did not need help from my companion or I would get across to a platform and it would magically teleport me back and then a second later it would teleport me to the platform I made it to. The puzzles are mostly straightforward although some of the help is not helpful. At times the combat can feel a little chucky, It makes up for this. Despite all of this this is a pretty good game and I would recommend it to anyone who likes these types of games. The story overall is also pretty good.

Talk about a pleasant surprise. I was casually browsing a message board when I stumbled upon a mention of this game. My curiosity got the better of me so I decided to give it a try.

17 hours of gameplay later and I couldn't have been happier with my purchase. This is an extremely well made love letter to action/adventure games of old, carefully crafted by a small team of indie developers that clearly love the genre and what it stands for. The impressive backdrops and visuals in general are backed up by fun combat, an interesting story, likeable characters, varied & sometimes challenging puzzles, as well as satisfying traversal mechanics. If you like the classic, focused action/adventure games of old including Legacy of Kain, Prince of Persia, Darksiders, and even Tomb Raider, as well as newer behemoths in the genre like the recent God of Wars, you'll find a lot to like here.

There are some minor technical issues on PC, including a somewhat annoying depth of field bug in which background characters and objects in cutscenes appear very blurry/pixelated, but outside of that I found little to complain about.

Thats all I got. I don't even write steam reviews but I feel like I needed to show some more support for this game.

A fun game with some interesting additions to the platforming and puzzling genre. Combat is serviceable, if a bit clunky, with again some interesting variations to keep it interesting. Game is good enough. It's story driven with a story that is neither epic, nor unforgettable, but does it's job of creating the game world and settings and keeping it flowing throughout the 10 chapters.
I liked the interactions of the duo while they fight and explore, with their little banters and occasional emotional moments(story related).
Combat is not my favorite type, it felt slow, with parries and dodges harder to execute than other titles, at least while attacking. But magic and sword skills are pretty good; especially with all skills unlocked is funny to shift, squash and sever groups of enemies.

I bought the game on 45%+ discount and I'm pretty satisfied with it.

Anfangs war ich am zweifeln ob ich das Spiel kaufen soll oder nicht (im Sale für unter 20€)
Nach dem der Abspann nach ca. 14Std über den Bildschirm lief muss ich sagen: Das war es auf jeden Fall wert!
Ich hatte nicht allzu viel erwartet, ein Durchschnittliches Spiel was evtl Spaß machen kann (mit dem Gedanken es zur Not zurück zu geben)
Aber es hat mich wirklich überrascht und meine Erwartungen weit übertroffen!
Man muss bedenken (soweit ich weiß) ist es das Erstlingswerk des Studios!
Die Charaktere sind gut geschrieben und glaubwürdig, haben einen klaren Charakter. Dazu sind Sie super synchronisiert.
Die Welt sieht wirklich gut aus und ich bin öfters stehen geblieben um das Panorama zu bestaunen. Stellenweise dachte ich, dass die Entwickler sich von den Herr der Ringe Filmen haben inspirieren lassen, was ich persönlich super finde :D (gibt auch n HdR Easter Egg)
Die Kämpf sind wuchtig und machen Bock, auch wenn das Kampfsystem nicht allzu tiefgründig ist. Aber abwechslungsreich genug, vor allem mit den freischaltbaren Fähigkeiten.
In den Kämpfen war es etwas schwer genau das Objekt anzuvisieren welches man wollte, da man sowohl Gegner als auch Umgebungsgegenstände anvisieren kann. (wollte Gegenstände auf die Gegner schleudern, nur es wurde der Gegner an sich anvisiert)
Ich erkunde gerne in Spielen und suche jede Ecke ab, dies wird hier und da auch belohnt, könnte nach meinem Geschmack aber etwas mehr sein. Ansonsten ist alles recht Linear aufgebaut.
Die Rätsel sind nett, aber nie wirklich kompliziert (zum. wenn man derart Rätsel in Spielen kennt)
Es war ein guter Wechsel zwischen: Kämpfen, Story, Rätsel und Plattforming
Wen es stört, wenn man nach Abschnitten als Animation: durch einen Spalt gehen muss, einen Balken anheben muss um drunter her zu gehen, eine Tür öffnen muss etc. dem sei gesagt, dass kommt hier sehr häufig vor :D

Abschließend muss ich sagen: wenn man mit der Sicht an die Sache geht, dass es das erste Spiel des Entwicklerstudios ist, dann Hut ab, ich behalte die Entwickler auf jeden Fall im Auge!

Game picks up in Chapter 6 (until then doubt many would be able to stomach it) and culminates in chapter 10. Kinda left me wanting a sequel ngl.

Pros:

1) It's relatively short.
2) Main companion being an old man is pretty refreshing experience for a game.

Cons:
It's UE5 slop. Better tham most UE5 slops, but still a UE5 slop.

You won't lose anything if you skip this one.

Ignore all the haters - this version of the game was an exquisite masterpiece from a small studio. The high-quality experience of a God of War (2019), Tomb Raider (modern), etc that is rendered down to the sum of the greatest of all of the games that inspired it. The puzzles are always unique, and every chapter has different mechanics and elements. Combat is simple yet does not get boring, and the puzzles and environment bits are honestly less than in something like God of War (modern). Runs super smooth, very minor glitches! Voice acting is competent, and the characters grow on you as the story goes on.

The standout for me? The environments - holy mother of pearls this world is BEAUTFIUL. I frequently stopped to just look at the world.

My only gripe? I think I missed a single fox on my playthrough and thus that fox missed out on pets. :(

Сразу оговорюсь, что игра явная AA и это видно по всем аспектам, не стоит ждать от нее слишком много. Я, собственно и не ждал, и был приятно удивлен
Игра радует добротной историей и персонажами, за диалогами которых мне было интересно слушать до самого конца. Неплохой боевой системой аля God of War у нас дома. Доступных приемов не очень много, анимации местами корявенькие, но импакт от ударов чувствуется, способности можно применять интересным образом, что подталкивает ими пользоваться почаще. КВизуальная часть очень достойная. UE5 позволяет даже небольшим командам делать красивую графику, пусть и местами заметны косяки. Для меня лично все проблемы визуала компенсируются разнообразием локаций
Отдельно отмечу головоломки в игре. Они не сложные, но я был поражен количеством механик, которые разработчики придумали для игры, в которой головоломки все же не основная составляющая
В общем игра оставила после себя положительные впечатления, мне было интересно играть от начала и до конца и я очень хочу увидеть следующую игру студии. Уверен, что набравшись опыта и немного собрав денег у них получится еще более удивительное и прекрасное приключение

This was an unexpected, frustrating gem to play. The graphics and storyline are indeed excellent for playing a brand new character. I think the world created in the game is a wonder to explore. I like the relationship Ryn has with Cor and Abram. If the studio decides to make a sequel I hope they can further develop the partner system.

Given that it was still often frustrating to play. The jumping actions were often a failure because it became more and more complicated. There were too many times when I didn't get when to use leaping or mid-air zooming. I think there might even be problems with the distance because I failed to properly reach many ledges. Despite the developers' different approaches to each stage jumping around became annoying. In chapter 6 we basically have to jump through hoops - through hoops, like circus animals. Even with the lore I doubt the survivors of the Descent would leave all ruins in a state that requires jumping around.

The movement of the partner NPCs (Cor and Abram) are wonky. Many times Abram had lagged behind, making some conversations strange. Sometimes he'd proceed ahead of me while saying the opposite.

So I'd rate this game a 7.5/10

I look forward to seeing this studio make another game in the future.

Graphically an extremely beautiful linear game with good voice acting, a decent story but with some very annoying game mechanics and controls, lots of [relatively minor] software bugs which can be overcome by reloading the last save checkpoint. The game has lots of other 'features' which also made it very frustrating and tedious at times.

Half the time I could not sprint or run using my controller and had to resort to using the keyboard - I have not had this problem with any other recent games I have played.

Most of the puzzles were logically OK but trying to use the game mechanics and controls to solve them was perplexing at times - especially with the software bugs. Combine this with some annoying arcade sections it just was not much fun to play. The combat was OK..

The game has some redeeming features, particularly the outstanding graphics and the world it creates. If Steam had a Neutral category I would have put it into that category as it is not a bad game, but overall I cannot recommend it.

Ich kann nicht nachvollziehen, dass das Spiel in der Kritik bislang so gemischt bewertet wird! Die Kämpfe machen Spaß. Die Boss-Kämpfe sind schwer, aber mit etwas Geduld schaffbar. Die Sprungpassagen sind teilweise kniffelig und man benötigt mehrere Anläufe, aber auch das ist zu packen. Die Rätsel sind abwechslungsreich und fordernd. Die Grafik ist sehenswert und die Schauplätze sind sehr unterschiedlich und interessant. Das Spiel hat meine klare Empfehlung. Ich würde mich freuen, wenn es einen Nachfolger geben sollte.

I just finished streaming my playthrough so I figured I should give feedback. I'll start with a simple pros and cons listing, as I usually do.

Pros:
- Combat was fluid and fast-paced, making for a lovely action rpg experience. I especially enjoy a hybrid fighting style, such as blade and pistol or sword and sorcery. The game gets bonus points for fitting my preference quite nicely.
- The world was engaging and had a lot of intriguing lore. I would definitely want to visit Aema again.
- I loved the main cast (Ryn, Cor, Abram, Zara and Aurick). They were really well written.
- A lot of the puzzles were a lot of fun to figure out. I enjoy taking my time with a nice puzzle.
- The world was so much more stunning than I had expected. As a Finn, I always adore exploring a nordic fantasy world.

Cons:
- Timings in a significant number of situations were too unforgiving. That actually gave me quick time event vibes and not in a good way. There is a good reason why QTEs were buried by most studios. If you need to put those in your game, give players an option to skip them.
- Game was too short. 15 hours I spent on the playthrough is not a lot of time. I usually prefer my rpgs to take at least 50 hours to beat. Just because 15 hours is not long enough to properly immerse myself into a good story.
- It felt like there were no impactful choices in the game. Redemption of Zara could have been one significant decision the game could have offered, setting up a future adventure where they'd have done vestige things as a pair (even a couple if the devs aren't allergic to a sapphic romance).

My overall experience was a positive one, even if I'd have done certain things differently. Especially flinging objects at enemies was very difficult for me as that too had a punishing timing. I'd have introduced a toggleable time slow feature for aiming abilities.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Myrkur Games does next. ^^

Overwhelming mediocre. It wants sooo badly to be a combination of God of War, Witcher, and Last Jedi. And it misses the mark on all 3 (grumpy experienced main character with a novice family member with you thats kinda weak but overly brave; youre a mutation of human with powers that isnt trusted but can fight monsters; you have knockoff force powerrs). Very clunky controls; only partial controller support, but uses so many keyboard buttons that it clearly wanted to be a controller game. Combat is kind of boring and annoying at the same time; mash light attack and dodge until enemies are dead; there's no indicator that you got hit most of the time other than your HP decreasing in the bottom left of the screen; jedi-powers often don't lock on or do what the should as you use them in combat.
Its not a BAD game. But when there are so many amazing games, this feels like a waste of time.

TL:DR:
- Worst female character I have ever seen in a video game; basically she is an apsolute ♥♥♥♥ to everyone, hates
everything, doesn't need help because she is just a strong woman (sure)
- Writing is terrible, mainly for the main character (again the spotlight is hers)
- Waaaay to many puzzles, becomes boring rather quickly.

+ Looks extremely good for an indie "god of war"
+ Full motion capture, I can respect the devs for that (yall the real ones for this).
+ Voice cast is also quite good for what the game is trying to achieve.

+- The story.
+- Combat is weird, tries to be just like god of war but misses the hit impact that game has had in its previous instalments.
+- The game is just battle arena after battle arena (when there is some combat).

Verdict:
Idk man, game is a literall mixed bag for me, the two main reasons I just can't force myself to finish it are the terrible main character of Ryn and the huge amount of boring puzzles. Was really looking foward to playing it tho but yeah, this ones on me.

Cool visuals and an interesting story that could do a better job at telling it. I would say give it a try if on sale and enjoy a pretty good game. I do feel like they could have done so much more with what they had, but they still did a good job for what they wanted it to be.

Unfortunately I will not be finishing it as they added in the ability to miss out on quite a bit of loot. Once you go past certain points to see what that path mite have you get locked in. After this happening quite a few time I just gave up.

Clearly knowing you missed stuff is a bad feeling for a video game.. Not everyone has time to play a game multiple times through.

Très jolie jeu graphiquement, mais pas pour moi, fan de souls en tout genre. On est plus sur du couloir avec énigmes assez redondantes, le gameplay est extrêmement lent et les combats très peu stimulant, voir inintéressants. Pas d'explo, de secrets, menus un peu "bas de gamme", et pas de VF, pas très agréable avec des personnages qui parlent très souvent et obligé de lire sans pouvoir profiter de la vue. Si les combats avait été réussis pourquoi pas, mais je m'ennuie très vite et la lenteur du personnage sera toujours la même. Si vous aimez les gameplays lents, les jeux simples sans trop de challenge en couloir et les énigmes pourquoi pas, sinon passez votre chemin.

Reminds me of Tomb Raider style game with environmental puzzles and some timed movements. I found the puzzles to be enjoyable without being overly challenging. I initially dropped the game as I found it really hard to connect with the angst of the main character but as you continue along she softens and becomes less edgy. The combat isn't overly difficult and has many ways you can play it, I liked to mix and match the hack n slash with the magical elements. Overall I found it to be enjoyable, but would wait for a sale.

A good game overall. Enjoyable enough main characters with an average story. Although, in typical video game fashion, there's a lot of enemies somehow beating you to inaccessible places that should've been impossible for them to get within before you.
The combat was decent and not overly complicated, with a little skill required and not being just button mashing. The puzzles were simple and there wasn't a lot of enemy variety, but it made sense as to why. The game wasn't drawn out and new mechanics kept being added to avoid an elongated lull of sameness.

Would've liked at least one npc, village or fort reacting to the unimaginable things going on, but from where you start to where you end it's just go go go, without time or advantage to make it anywhere before the enemy.
Would definitely play a sequel or dlc to see a continuation of the story or a similar game by these developers.

J'aurais voulu aimer ce jeu, il a beaucoup de bonnes intentions, mais qui ne suffisent malheureusement pas à sauver le navire selon moi.
Tout d'abord, le positif, le jeu est magnifique, les paysages sont somptueux et on se surprend souvent à s'arrêter quelques minutes juste pour contempler le paysage (inspiré de l'Islande en même temps, ça ne pouvait qu'être beau). Et malgré quelques chutes de framerate, c'est plutôt solide techniquement.

Le négatif maintenant. La protagoniste est insupportable, antipathique au possible et constamment désagréable, impossible de s'attacher à elle ou d'éprouver la moindre sympathie à son égard. Le jeu à beaucoup de ♥♥♥♥♥♥ sur plein d'aspects, et ce, même en prenant en compte qu'il s'agisse d'un double AA. Le level design est terrible, bourré d'incohérences et n'invitant jamais à la découverte ni à la résolution. Les énigmes et puzzles sont répétitifs au possible et deviennent juste une corvée au bout d'un moment, surtout que le jeu à la fâcheuse tendance à plus ou moins vous forcer à demander des indices, ce que je trouve très ennuyeux quand on veut juste chercher par soi-même.
De même, les combats deviennent barbants très rapidement puisque malgré de nombreuses possibilités, il suffit toujours de taper comme un bourrin sans réfléchir pour que ça passe. Alors que bons nombres de mécaniques de gameplay intéressantes existent, mais ne sont jamais mis en avant.

Rajouté à cela, une histoire pas vraiment captivante et manquant cruellement de contexte, j'avais hâte que ça se termine, c'est dommage.

Honestly pretty good linear Action-Adventure game. Combat is fun, easy to learn and master. Vestige abilities are quite strong and unique. Best believe I was using magic to push/pull enemies off cliffs, into traps, into each other, into the MC or your partner, Abram. Speaking of Abram, I never would have expected to see a old gentleman in a fantasy game performing drop kicks! 10/10 partner, he deserves all the glaze. The story is simple and pretty interesting. The MC is rough around the edges, but she does grow over time. Other than that, there are quite a bit of puzzles in the game. Most are quite easy and some can be quite challenging, but there are decent a variety of them so it was pretty fun doing them all. I'd say this game has a good blend of combat, puzzles and traversal. All in all, good game.

The best part of the game is the story and voice acting. The worst part is the combat. Combat can be clunky with dodging tending to be a bit of a hit or miss ability. Half way through the game I turned the difficulty all the way down to "Story" as I wasn't enjoying the combat at all and there tends to be quite a bit of it scattered throughout the levels. Most of the environmental puzzles are straight forward. I was only stuck a few times not realizing certain things worked in a certain way.

I got about 19 hours of play time with most every secret uncovered. I enjoy almost all of it but got a bit bored with chapter 10 as it seemed to be a bit long of a slog to get to the end. The ending was a bit predictable but still holds up well. I felt most of the characters were fairly well defined at the end. It would be nice to see the female antagonist get more back story as her character is quite interesting.

Graphic wise the game is beautiful but does suffer some slow downs/frame drops in a few places. Also, environmental clipping is noticeable in some areas. I got a kick out of how the companions would just "blip" into existence or just walk through barriers. The music fits well.

For the 19 hours I played it was worth the on sale price I paid. Get it on sale or part of a bundle and enjoy the journey.

Stability issues persist, this game has randomly crashed on me multiple times. Some of the crashes forced my system to reset itself because it froze the whole system. I'm running on a 5090-7800x3d combo so it is not that my hardware runs behind. It's sad because i was actually enjoying the story.

Nach dem ersten Duschgang stelle ich eine klare Kaufempfehlung aus.
Das Spiel ist hat mich durchweg unterhalten und ist eine willkommene Abwechslung zur ewigen Open World. Geradlinig und nicht künstlich gestreckt. Story ist unterhaltsam, jedoch auch nicht mehr. Die Kämpfe machen Spaß, vor allem in der 2ten Spielhälfte, wenn mehr Fähigkeiten freigeschaltet sind.
Technisch ohne Probleme im gesamten Durchgang,
New Game + wird definitiv bei Gelegenheit gestartet.

It's an interesting game, surprisingly well-made considering there's only a small studio behind it, the graphics are great. You can finish the game in 20-30 hours so ideally there would be a DLC afterwards to extend the stay in the world of vestiges a little longer.

Great game with a few small problems.

Those problems are: Stuttering from game saving. (not to bad) Some flickering from shadows around hair. (This might be a DLSS thing, I was running it on performance mode) And that's about it honestly. Really great game from an indie/AA developer.

The graphics are great. However the physics are not good at all. It doesn't feel good to jump, to slide, or to hop on a rope, or to climb.
the combat are fine.
The story is boring and acting is very average.
Though if I want to point the really bad thing about it, is the physics.

Hab das Spiel sehr gern gespielt. Nach ca. 12 Stunden war ich durch.

Die Story hat mir gut gefallen auch wenn sie stellenweise vorhersehbar war. Gerade den Gesprächen der Charaktere während des Gameplay, hab ich gern zugehört. Die englische Sprachausgabe war auch für mein durchschnittliches Englisch gut verständlich.

Das Gameplay besteht aus Kämpfen, Rätseln und Platforming.
Das Kampfsystem besteht aus Schwertkampf, magischen Fähigkeiten und Begleiter Fähigkeiten die sich mit einander kombinieren lassen. Das funktioniert meistens gut. Je nach Gegner hat das für mich sogar richtig gut funktioniert und ich hatte echt Laune beim Ausweichen, Kontern, Gegner durch die Gegend schleudern usw..

Die Rätsel sind meistens recht einfach und für meinen Geschmack etwas zuviel.

Das Platforming ist grundsätzlich okay, sieht aber durch unsaubere Animationen oft nicht so schick aus. Aber auch hier ähnlich wie bei den Kämpfen, gibt es Momente in denen es für mich richtig gut funktioniert hat.

Das Spiel sieht die meiste Zeit echt Gut aus und die Performance war in Ordnung.

Alles in allem ein cooles Spiel und eine spannende Geschichte.
Ich würde mich freuen wenn die Geschichte weiter geführt wird :)

15hrs gameplay on max difficulty (without NG+, just one playthrough)

In short:
Lara Croft, but cool things:
- UE5's tesselation stuff looks nice on the environments
- Cast of characters is competent
- Supporting animations are not without flaw, but that's from attempting to do more than other games

Others mentioned puzzles for days, but I wouldn't say that they are particularly challenging. Thank god there is "disable hints" setting.

Wow, one of the best game surprises for a long time! This should get so much more exposure, just like Banishers of Eden. Just an excellent AA game. Some really creative mechanics and environments in here, excellent voice acting. Looks amazing as well. Get it! Hope they make a sequel and will be following these devs.
