Not recommended - this game is HARMFUL TO YOUR HEALTH and WILL REDUCE YOUR MAXIMUM LIFESPAN.
Bluntly put, the game has practically every single bad game design besides touching the walls killing you and time limits. The list of the game design annoyances could fill a book.
The game is pretty simple: WSAD for movement, X for shooting and C for turning the sub (mostly used in boss battles when you need that little extra sub-weapon firepower.) You just kill everything and that is the full spoiler of the game.
1. The game running worse and less optimized than most games ten times bigger than it.
2. Touching enemies losing you a power up that you can only get randomly and that you need to have maxed out just to survive past early game.
3. Mandatory grinding. If you see yourself taking too much damage from a boss, you have to go back and grind both the health and (optionally, the the power loss is not that big of a deal against singular enemies such as MOST of the bosses) the power ups back up before you can continue. This process never stops, never feels fun and takes forever.
4. That background track with radar RING! going on constantly, driving you mad.
5. The game trying to force you to run it with the most unoptimized Unity settings ("Beautiful / Fantastic") even though it already runs like garbage.
6. It constantly occupies two CPU cores even when nothing is happening.
7. It is constantly updating its non-graphics data values, contributing to the loss of performance. This is not normal - you are supposed to update them only when they change. Write operations are the most taxing and slow operations in computing, so you should not do them constantly. Unless your name is Ubisoft and you are trying to fry the CPU with your HITMAN game while the game is paused.
8. It uses some custom variable format, so if you are thinking of giving yourself infinite health just by locking one 4-byte variable, that is not going to happen. I would not put past this game to not use Strings as storage types for number information such as health amounts. A better (life-) "hack" is to PICK A GAME THAT DOES NOT SUCK.
9. Sea mine obstacles that you cannot remove and stay around even if you drive into them. They are poor game developer griefing and make the game suck that much more because they are always in the way, do a hefty amount of damage and you cannot do anything about them.
10. White projectiles. On PRACTICALLY WHITE BACKGROUNDS. IN A BULLET HELL GAME!! If you like getting hit by invisible projectiles in a game where even a single hit can take away your power ups and drastically damage you, this is death game. You will have to squint just to see the basic projectiles. ALL THE TIME. There is no contrast slider either - only volume settings for SFX and music. It is as if the developer used a monitor with ultra-high contrast settings and that is why it looks like a white-hot Sun to me. I am using the darkest monitor backlight settings I can and the contrast is still not enough to easily see the projectiles. How about giving the projectiles ANY OTHER COLOR such as blue.
11. Enemies respawn constantly. It is the NES Ninja Gaiden or TMNT 2 experience where moving just a little respawns everything. It might facilitate the MANDATORY GRINDING, though dealing with it constantly makes the game feel mind-numbingly boring.
12. Enemies can shoot at you from off-screen, though they themselves will not take damage off-screen. Some enemies spam those screen-filling multi-shot attacks off-screen.
13. Bosses moving fast. The first moment they are off-screen and the second they are on you, causing massive contact damage and taking away your power-ups.
14. Some boss gimmicks (there are 41 "targets" or bosses, just like Street Fighter 2010 called them) barely work. The Tridon shellfish one is something like: IMMUNE TO DAMAGE. The way you kill it is one of the strangest things in my decades of playing video games.
Step I: Shoot at bubbles.
Step II: Stand on a specific spot in front of the boss so that randomly you can use an electric attack (a custom one, not the sub-weapon one - the sub-weapon electricity does not even trigger on bosses so you cannot use it on this boss).
Step III: Stand in the "electrorcution spot" to randomly shock Tridon until it runs out of health.
It is nonsense even in the context of this game where you have a couple of bosses with a chasing armadillo roll gimmick.
11. The later enemies have a ton of health and take a lot of shooting to take down. Let me remind you of the fact that MANDATORY GRINDING forces you to farm these mofos en masse just to recover your health on a regular basis.
12. The contrast level in the animation of the "about game" section does not reflect most of the game. It only rarely is that dark and with dark-outlined projectiles. Most of the time you are dealing with lightning-spamming bosses and that lightning projectile is plain white without outlines and usually on a relatively white background. Oh you wish this game design was merciful enough to LET YOU SEE. :D
13. The minimap is useless. It shows no shapes or paths. In this game you need to take a specific path to not end up in one of the numerous cul-de-sacs AKA dead ends in this game.
14. The level design is that spiraling garbage that never allows you to get to a place through the shortest route. You can easily waste a quarter hour trying to find your way back because this game has no shortcuts, no fast-travel and lots of completely useless places. Keep in mind this game has so many same-looking places and mind-numbing grinding, so you will forget where you just came from - GUARANTEED.
14. The parallax scrolling backgrounds AND FOREGROUNDS mess up your ability to see what is going on. Yes, this game does have those obnoxious foreground graphics that block your ability to see what is under them, including enemies, yourself and ofc PROJECTILES.
I hope you are starting to understand how physically painful this game is to play. Not just psychical anguish - physical pain especially in the eyes region. The game hates and subverts your ability to see what is going on on the screen and that is where the pain will come from. I do not need to be a licensed doctor to tell people to recommend against playing this physical health hazard.

ゲームの流れは迷宮を探索して海産物メカのボスを倒すと次のボスへの道が開かれて・・・を延々と繰り返す感じで、道中にたまに置いてあるスタート地点に触れると死んだときや次回からの開始地点になる
シューティングの部分は雑魚敵もボスも種類が多くて攻撃パターンも多彩で対処が楽しいが、迷路の部分がやたらとわかりにくい上に単調で理不尽なばかりでつまらない
一応ミニマップ的なものはあるがアイテムとボスの位置が大まかに出ているだけで全くあてにならず近くまで来ても壁で遮られて遠回りを強いられるばかりでうんざりする
やっとたどり着いたボスにやられると遥か彼方のスタート地点に戻されて最弱状態からパワーアップとサブウェポン探しをしつつボスを探してまた迷宮をさまよう羽目になる
もう少し迷宮を単純にしてレーダーに地形を表示させるか普通にステージ制にすればもっと爽快に遊べたのではないだろうか？
現状だと嫌がらせや罰ゲームに近いかったるさで爽快感皆無なのでセールだとかなり安くなるがかなり忍耐力のある人以外は避けたほうがよさそう

Un shoot em up submarino con notables problemas de contenido, y un mapa laberíntico y tedioso que vas a verte forzado a recorrer y en el que vas a perderte a fuerza, que estás obligado a recorrer entre jefe y jefe. Jefe es ser generoso, la mayoría son variantes de enemigos comunes más grandes y con muchos proyectiles. Earth Atlantis tiene muy poco que ofrecerte. Como mucho, un estilo artístico interesante al principio, que vas a aborrecer pasados 15 minutos, y que no va a ayudar a la hora de orientarte. Me he pasado más de la mitad del juego, y puedo decirlo a ciencia cierta, aún estando a euro como suele estar, este juego no vale la pena.

Saw the art, looked kinda cool, thought maybe it'd scratch that Prehistoric Isle or good old arcade shmup itch.
NOPE, F**king NOPE. This game is like watching paint dry.
Repetitive AF, they copy pasted the same three enemy patterns for the whole damn game. Weapon variety? What weapon variety? You get like one main thing and maybe a secondary that barely changes anything. Oh, you unlock like five submarines, but they all handle like a brick tied to another slightly heavier brick. Seriously, they all feel exactly the same.
And the pacing, oh my God, the pacing. It's supposed to be a boss rush kinda thing, but It's a f**king boss crawl. You spend an ETERNITY just fumbling around this g*rbage maze of a map trying to FIND the next boss. And then another eternity trying to actually GET to it. The map design is pure trash, genuinely makes you want to smash your screen.
This game made me FALL ASLEEP with the controller in my hand, multiple times, I couldn't keep my eyes open because it's so mind numbingly boring.
So yeah, didn't finish it, not going to. Earth Atlantis is a hard pass. Don't waste your tendies on this garbage. You've been warned. Sage.
Save yourself the headache and the nap

Underwater shooter where you try to become king of Atlantis. You will encounter same enemies which you obliterate for power ups. Once stocked you go for the boss. There's a minimap but it doesn't help much as you only got marking where the boss is but how to get there is another story. To be praise are multitude of bosses (41 in total) but feels kinda meh to me. Game is too repetitive and playing for half an hour was feeling like a chore. You can unlock new ships, but as long as I was playing I did not manage to unlock any. Visuals are hand drawn sketches with monochrome color palette. Gameplay is average, as you gonna pickup one of three supportive weapons or power ups for main gun, that's it. When you die it's game over, you have to repeat whole run again. After destroying each boss, path to the next area will be unlocked allowing you to go further. Whole music is just some beeps and boops. To be honest spare yourself this one and go with Aquatic Adventures of the Last Human or Song of the Deep.

it's okay, it's a small game, the design is neat, but it has as much content as a Flash game.
I put a thumb down because the stock price of $15 is ridiculous, and on the very first screen I got assaulted with the climate scam.
Mentions the climate lie.
The art direction is cool and unique, but it's totally wasted on gameplay this dull and unengaging. The shmup elements are bland, the power-up system is extremely shallow, and navigating the world is a pain. If you die to one of the many bosses, you can't try again right away because you'll respawn halfway across the map. You'll also be reset to level 1, so you will have to grind for powerups while trudging back to the arena if you want to be at full strength. It's not worth the time. Avoid this one.
P.S. My play time is inaccurate, I played it for another hour while disconnected from the internet.

As a game, it’s a fairly typical shooter with somewhat repetitive gameplay that can feel monotonous at times, but its unique art style and design, which captured attention from the start, are truly original and impressive.
Interesting at first, and it is initially satisfying to be taking down hordes of enemies. However the "radar" leads to endless dead ends, the bosses are unbalanced, and the secondary upgrades never really tip the balance much. Most of all though, it all gets old once you realise there's no real progression, and no "end" worth reaching. Got bored, stopped playing.

Но не особо понравился минималистичный стиль. Тем более игра на Unity и с плохой оптимизацией. Даже не смогли опять же добавить вертикальную синхронизацию. По карте плавать в целом занятно было, хоть опять же непонятно сюжетную подоплёку. Почему здесь нужно расстреливать водную фауну и при этом сама фауна неплохо так остреливается. Хватило терпения на несколько главарей и дальше продолжать расстрел живности не захотелось.
Нужно добавить русский перевод, убрать эту плашку Юнити при старте и добавить вертикальную синхронизацию.

一句话来形容的话就是潜水艇版的雷电，不同种类潜水艇特点挺明显的，游戏内怪物也挺多，探索模式和猎人模式都很有游玩价值
缺点就是内容有点少了，探索模式的一般难度大概三四个小时就能通关，boss数量虽然多，但是个别boss之间同质化有些严重，另外就是地图有点小，丰富度有些低，比较单调。
简单来说就是刚开始玩会很有意思的弹幕射击游戏，随着游戏时长的增加，很难有再打开的欲望，游戏寿命较短（从成就完成情况很能说明这个问题，需要花时间的成就即使不是很难都已经是稀有成就了）
不过史低只要五块八，两瓶水换来的一下午的快乐还能说啥呢，看见降价冲就完事
The core issue with this game is that it is insanely repetitive. I completed the game in 2 hours and 20 minutes, not including deaths.
There are two game modes, Quest and Hunter. Hunter is not available until you complete Quest. In Quest mode you need to fight a series of 30+ bosses which are drip fed to you 2-3 at a time. This takes place on a large rectangular map which is nicely modeled; new pathways sometimes open up after boss fights. However, boss locations get recycled over time and some bosses are difficult to get to, so you can end up on long trips or circumnavigating a boss location until you find the correct route. As enemies continually respawn and you never get anything other than health, the same 3 or so weapon powerups, and the generic projectile powerup, this ends up becoming very tedious. There are good boss and bullet pattern designs but there are lots of boss remixes (this time it's *electric*), so there's some repeat encounters there. On death you respawn at the last buoy you touched and there are 4 or 5 of those around the map. They do usually give you a single weapon powerup and a projectile powerup to get you started, but often that's insufficient to realistically beat the boss. So get used to checking crates and killing random enemies till you feel like you have a chance at the boss, then traveling back to the boss each death. This game would be massively improved if they cut out the map and just made it a scrolling shooter.
Hunter mode is just Quest mode but with 29 bosses, no blocked routes, and a constantly decreasing timer that you refill by killing enemies and bosses.
I would like to say that the art style is quite appealing and the 3d models and background look nice, but the experience is spoiled by there being no color and a massively obvious foreground crosshatch filter. This filter cannot be disabled and looks absolutely horrible. There is also very limited track variety and the soundscape can be very irritating with certain ships. Overall, save your money and time. I like the boss designs and backgrounds but they're not enough to save this game. Buy a different shmup.
Pésima idea inicial. Eso de obligar al jugador a perderse por un mapa laberíntico, persiguiendo objetivos marcados con una 'X' en un radar inútil, no sé a quién se le ocurriría, pero arruina por completo un juego ya de por sí mediocre. Por decir algo bueno, el control del submarino es bueno. Aburrimiento mayúsculo de juego.

敵も弾も背景も似たような色で同化しててわかりにくい。
道中雑魚敵の湧いてくるスピードが早くて全部倒すのはだるいし、ボスからボスまでの移動が面倒くさい。
ミニマップになんとなくの位置は表示されているが迷路になっているので回り道が必要だったりする。
一度ゲームオーバーになりスタート地点まで戻ったら、もうボスまでの道がわからなくなってやる気がなくなった。

最初は楽しかったが飽きるのも早かった、一本道のシューティングゲームのほうが好き。

Los modos de juegos son 2 , el modo "historia" que de historia no es mucho, solo tienes que salvar la tierra de monstruos robóticos explorando un enorme sistema de cuevas submarinas, comenzaras con una nave y con el avance de juego desbloquearas las otras naves de combate, cada una con diferentes modos de disparos y diferentes características. Al completar el primer modo se desbloquea un acceso a un segundo estilo de juego llamado "hunter" que te desafía derrotar una determinada cantidad de monstruos dentro de un marco determinado de tiempo.
Nuestras Naves de combate cuentan con diferentes estilos de tecnología militar para vencer con una potencia eficaz de fuego a medida que eliminas a los peces, ganaras potenciadores que aumentaran el radio de disparos o salud, además encontraras en la ruta cajas con armas secundarias, como misiles guiados, bombas o descargas eléctricas.
Mediante un radar explorarás una red de cuevas que te indican tus objetivos, son jefes gigantes que han tomado el control y sembrado el miedo en el mar, cada jefe derrotado desbloquea una nueva zona más grande para explorar lo que significa que el juego no está basado en niveles, si no en un mapa que se abre cuanto más exploras, y no importa si mueres, el mapa cuenta con puntos de control para reiniciar desde la misma área.
A nivel artístico presenta un estilo de arte similar a las viejas cartografías marinas en color sepia, visualmente lindo, simple pero efectivo y agradable a la vista. En el punto de sonidos no me gusto mucho la música de exploración, muy repetitiva, pero si me gusto las pistas cuando te enfrentas a los jefes
el juego lo jugué con un control Xbox360, no posee vibración, es una pena porque le daría más acción, pero igualmente el control de la nave es perfecto, el submarino se siente con peso sólido lo que jugarlo con control sea muy agradable. Lo recomiendo para que jueguen algo distinto de experiencia desafiante y sirve para una buena distracción después de una larga jornada semanal.
Nice novel graphic style, doesn't suit the game however since it means everything is the same color and texture, not ideal for a shmup.
Map shows no terrain, so I spent at least 50% of my time hugging walls brute-forcing my way through the maze to the next target.
But the graphics and background designs are nice, so I don't regret my time, just not going to spend any more here.
슈팅이 딱히 어렵지는 않음/ 길찾기가 조금 짜증남/ 다양한 보스가 등장함.

Es un juego divertido y muy recomendado para los fans de los árcades, ademas de contar con estilo gráfico muy poco común, lo cual le da una identidad muy marcada.
The weapon upgrades are great, and the unlockable ships bring fun diversity to the game.
The scenario and mechanics are cool, too, and the missing story does not actually matter. It's a space shooter underwater!
Sadly, after just a few bosses this becomes a game of endless backtracking, since the entire game (!) plays out on one map. Finding your way through the maze to the next target is frustrating, because after twenty minutes of playtime you have seen everything, and yet are venturing through this same maze for another two hours. That the game only has two music tracks (normal and boss) does not help the lacking disparity either.

Mon avis là dessus serait assez mitigé, je le mets positif car j'ai acheté le jeu soldé à 90%, mais je ne pense pas qu'il vaille son prix de 15€
Le style graphique très sympa et l'ambiance qu'il crée entre le steampunk et le post apo est intéressante.
Au niveau du gameplay, il est facile à prendre en mains (2 boutons + les touches directionnelles, un shmup, quoi) et très sympa pendant la première heure.
Ensuite ça se complique : le but du jeu est de chasser des monstres (les boss) dont la position vous est indiqué sur la carte (labyrinthique), pour donner quelque chose entre le shmup et le metroidvania. Les mobs que vous trouverez dans le labyrinthe vous serviront à farmer des améliorations en vue des combats de boss.
Ca marche bien au début, sauf qu'au bout d'une heure, il n'y a plus de renouvellement, plus de nouveaux mobs (juste un recyclage de ceux rencontrés auparavant), ils sont juste plus nombreux et avec plus de points de vie.
Les boss eux même apparaissent uniquement 3 par 3 (vous tuez les 3 premiers, ensuite les 3 suivants sont indiqués sur la carte et rebelote). Le souci c'est qu'ils apparaissent à toutes les extrémités de la carte, dans des zones que vous avez déja visitées sans rien y trouver, et ça vous force à d'interminables allez-retour entre les mêmes zones du labyrinthe.
Et même en terme de design les boss sont des mobs de base mais en plus gros, que l'on rencontre 2 ou 3 fois chacun (leurs attaques changent, heureusement).
Bref ce jeu pourrait obtenir un prix en développement durable tellement il recycle constamment ses environnements et ses ennemis.
Au final, le gameplay est basique mais efficace et les graphismes très agréables et orginaux, mais vous allez faire la même chose en boucle.

ボスを倒しても今まで来た道を戻りボスを倒してまた来た道を戻るの繰り返しであまりにも単調で爽快感よりも不快感が勝ります
雑魚敵も無限脇で種類も少なくパワーアップを集めてしまえば倒す必要がなく邪魔なだけです
ボスも強化しただけの使い回しが多くもう少し何とかならなかったのかなという印象です
ひたすらに行ったり来たりを繰り返しプレイ時間を引き延ばしているゲームでした
セールで安かったのでちょっとやるにはお勧めしますが定価では絶対買うべきではありません
2022.6 打开尘封已久的游戏发现在选择游戏难度界面无法正常进入，如果是退出后选择继续游戏会导致子弹没有伤害，boss 和自己缺失血条的情况。已然无法正常游戏了。比较好奇是不是因为不支持win11.

Главным привлекшим фактором для этой игры стала ее самобытная графика, в чем-то отдающая примитивизмом или схематизмом, который, впрочем, идет только на руку, когда дело доходит до сосредоточения на множестве движущихся объектов.
Удивительное.
Но этот примитивизм и схематизм распространился, к сожалению, и на игровой процесс. Сначала мы нудно и без особых рисков (такой вот 'bullet hell') отстреливаем мелочевку, пока не накопим достаточно усилителей и не разживемся каким-то бонусным орудием, потом идем на босса. Там уже сами отхватываем от него, либо имеем интересную и напряженную схватку. Если проигрываем, нас откатывает назад по развитию (с повторным сбором тех же апгрейдов), но все побитые боссы уже не вернутся. Роуглайт, стало быть. Но сделанный как-то на скорую руку. Непонятно, сколько бонусов вообще можно собрать и в чем они могут выражаться кроме числа ракет. Непонятно, почему основную атаку стабильно заедает. Если это механика такая, то где визуализация кулдаунов или что-то подобное. В итоге, главным боссом становится заедающая гашетка. Когда в тебя летит торпеда, ты хочет ее сбить на противоходе, и тут: "Упс!"
Плюсы.
- Очень красиво, у игры без преувеличения есть свой уникальный визуальный стиль.
- Противники ведут себя в целом достойно, особенно боссы, прогулкой это не назовешь. Я сам пишу эту рецензию, застряв на механической рыбе-луне.
Минусы.
- Если суммировать описанное выше, есть серьезный пробел в реализации нужного пользовательского опыта (UX). Неужели не было в группе тестирования подобных замечаний? Делать их (нужные индикаторы) в сравнении с остальной игрой быстро и просто.
- Для жанра упрощенного рогалика слишком бедный спектр прокачки.
В общем, игра заслуживает внимания любителей соответствующих жанров (упрощенный рогалик, пулевой ад и прочие). Тем же, кто интересуется со стороны, может не зайти.

[*]ごく稀に現れる海賊潜水艦との戦闘がツマラナイ
[*]海賊潜水艦は自機と同性能で連射してくるため、HP勝負で正面から打ち合うか、岩場にハメて倒すしか手が無い
[*]雰囲気重視のセピア色世界の為に視認性が悪い部分がある → 明るい背景に白いビーム、敵と重なった弾、自弾と敵弾が同デザイン(サイズが違うだけ?)
[*]ボスは弱点を突かないと異常に固い(or倒せない)が、弱点をさらすのは極短い時間だけ → 鈍足の機体だとボス種類によっては難易度が急上昇する

10時間程かけてクエストモードをノーマル難易度でクリアしましたが、一番萎えたのは以下のような点でした。

[*]サブウェポンを最大強化するには同じアイテムを4回連続で取得する必要がある
[*]サブウェポン強化アイテムは宝箱からのランダム出現 → 狙った物が出るとは限らない(確率1/4)
[*]宝箱は広いマップに少しだけしか配備されていない → 1つ開けると別の場所(遠い!)に新しい宝箱が再配備される → 広いマップを周回して宝箱回収
[*]せっかく強化したサブウェポンも、(雑魚敵の攻撃ですら)ダメージを受けただけで消失するリスクがある → STG由来の仕様か...

少なくとも自分の場合「ボスをノーダメージで倒す」ことは至難の業です。多くの場合、ボス戦後は (マップを駆けずり回って最大強化した)メインウェポンもサブウェポンも半分ぐらいに弱体化している...というアリサマでした。STGがヘタクソだからダメージを受けているわけで、更に罰として武器を弱体化されても楽しくないのですょ。
例えば、メトロイドヴァニアで「雑魚敵からダメージを受けたら鞭やブーメランといった武器を失ってしまい、再取得には遠い場所まで戻る必要がある。しかも再入手できる武器タイプはランダム」とかだったら萎えますよね。ストーリーイベントの一部として失うならともかく...。
もっとも、そう言いながらも結局はクリアできているので 難易度調整としては成功しているのかもしれませんね...。
補足
なぜか自分のPCではゲーム内(ダイアログ表示状態)のコントローラー設定がうまく機能しませんでした。Steam入力を有効にしても無効にしても期待通りにはならなかったので...、結局、Steam側のコントローラー設定でボタン割り当てを変更することで対処しました。
もし間違ってゲーム内でコントローラー設定を変更して戻せなくなった場合、レジストリエディタから...

...にある「__Input Key ～～～」という行をゴッソリ消してからゲームを再起動すれば、初期状態に戻せるはずです。レジストリに記録されているため、ゲームのアンインストール→再インストールではゲーム内コントローラー設定情報は消えないようです......。

- The level is designed like a metroidvania, which is good. The problem is that there's no map. You only have dots on a blank square to tell you roughly where the bosses are. Running around trying to find where to go would be less tedious if you gain xp for upgrades by killing enemies along the way, but you don't. You only get power-ups like in SHMUP games.
- The art style looks good at first, but it gets boring quite quickly and makes it hard to differentiate between your projectiles and enemies'.
If there was Neutral button, I'd give it that.
If you're curious, wait for sale.
The first thing you'll notice when looking at Earth Atlantis is its very unique and interesting art style. The game looks like an old map of the sea, and its what sets this game apart from any other game on the market, its such a unique and interesting art style that I think people focus on that instead of focusing on the gameplay itself because the game has some serious issues with it that make it such a frustrating and unlikeable experience that I was shocked when I saw all the positive reviews this game has.
Earth Atlantis' biggest problem is its upgrade system. You can pick up orbs that sometimes drop when you kill enemies and they can either heal you, upgrade your main weapon, or upgrade one of a few secondary weapons that act as power ups. Unfortunately you can only have one power up at a time and the best one by far is the homing missile so any other power up you'll just end up avoiding, and having to grind enemies until you find a homing missile power up, and even more grinding if you want to upgrade it. There's also no permanent upgrades you can do by progressing in the game such as increasing your health, or your primary attack or moving speed or anything. You can unlock new ships, but as far as I could tell they appear randomly and you have to defeat them to unlock them. When you die, you lose all your upgrades, so you end up constantly grinding just to get to a level where you can attempt to defeat a boss and if you end up dying, guess what, enjoy spending another 10 minutes killing the same enemies over and over to try and upgrade your ship.
Another massive problem with the game is the lack of a map. The level is layed out much a metrovania with lots of connecting paths and paths that unlock after defeating a boss but there's NO MAP AT ALL. All you get is a useless little ping on the useless grey box the game gives you. You're left navigating around the confusing layout running into dead end after dead end wasting your time as you're looking for these stupid little pings the game gives you. How no one thought to include a map you fill out as you explore the level is beyond me. It's like the developers knew they had such a small amount of content in their game so they looked how every way possible to pad out the play time so you could spend more time looking at the art style and less time thinking about how little fun the game is. If you took this exact game just with a different art style I guarantee this game would be either mixed or negatively reviewed instead of the mostly positive rating it has right now. The art style even gets in the way at times since everything is the same color so when you're in intense boss fights (which the game reuses multiple times by the way) half the time you can barely even see the projectiles you're supposed to be avoiding. The game is worth maybe $3 and that's being generous. Save your money and buy a better made game that actually respects your time and has more substance than a school lunch because that's really all this game has to offer.

Jeu qui peut être qualifié de Boss Rush, vu que vous avancé dans un niveau unique vous demandant d'aller de Boss en Boss, à certains moment des Sous-Marin Spéciaux peuvent apparaître (ce sont des vaisseaux à débloqué qui vous attaque.
Le jeu compte plusieurs mode de jeu intéressant et vous demande de finir le jeu avec des pourcentages.
Sinon le direction artistique graphique est très spéciale et peut perturber certains, sinon niveau musique cela colle avec le genre.

Un estilo artístico muy chulo y llamativo, y... ya. Muy aburrido después de media hora, de aquí podría haber salido un muy buen juego con otro enfoque, pero que queda en un arcade paupérimo. Lo conseguí por menos de 2 euros y ya eso me parece caro... no pago 15 pavos por esto ni puesto de crack.
Fantástico estilo artístico,es lo que más me ha llamado la atención a priori,me parece muy acertado el toque monocromo,le da un aire más clásico........Luego las detalladas animaciones y su apartado sonoro también reseñable.
Una pequeña joya desconocida que me recuerda un poco al clásico de Irem, "in the hunt",aunque salvando las distancias en cuánto a jugabilidad:uno sería un shoot them up clásico y este último Atlantis sería asimismo un shoot them up pero más laberíntico........Muy recomendable..........un 8
This is a $2 game with a $15 asking price. Movement and combat are... ok. Has a unique art style. But any positives are smashed to the sea floor by the hideous map design choices. It is a single, giant maze with what feels like randomized boss rush encounters that spawn as you run around. You have a very vague radar indicator on where X new boss spawn is but good luck finding said boss; there are many, MANY dead ends and you will find yourself repeatedly backtracking through every one of them, over and over and over again.
It is not a sh_t game, but there are definitely some sh_t choices made in designing it.
Ce jeu c'est vraiment un dillème... J'ai super envie de l'aimer mais il y a tellement de problèmes de game design.
INTERFACES
- La minimap nous indique les boss à tuer, mais ne montre pas la carte parcourue. perte de temps absolue.
- Nous n'avons aucune indication sur les power-up. Pareil on ne sais pas trop où nous en sommes...
LEVEL DESIGN
- Là c'est LE gros point noir. L'idée d'une carte unique c'est sympa, mais après 30 minutes de jeu c'est d'une monotonie absolue et surtout il faut re-parcourir le même niveau encore et encore en faisant à chaque fois des détours de folie.
- Malgré le fait que l'on soit plutôt petit on a un peu l'impression d'être toujours au corps à corps, on n'arrive jamais à avoir cette impression d'espace que l'on a dans un SHMUP et qui donne de la lisibilité aux patterns de bullets.
- Le fait que les ennemis re-pop en permanence c'est totalement incohérent avec du déplacement multidirectionnel en espace clos. Ça donne vraiment cette impression qu'il n'y a aucun défis à tuer les ennemis, et finalement aucun plaisir.
GAMEPLAY
- Il n'y a absolument AUCUNE originalité. Même certains shmup de smartphone font plus d'efforts. Quel dommage :-(
- Et en plus on nous rajoute le retournement du sous-marin qui est aussi lente qu'inutile d'un point de vue plaisir de jeu.
- Les ennemis sont d'une nullité, et comme on est blindé de PV on a aucune pression pour ne pas se faire trop toucher.
GRAPHISMES
+ C'est le gros point positif, c'est aussi la seule originalité. Ce côté sépia renforce bien son univers néo-retro-sais-pas-top-quoi.
+ Le parallax de profondeur est très flatteur et donne une belle impression lui aussi
- Mais les décors sont tellement loin qu'on les oublie et tout est monotone.
CONCLUSION
En voyant les screens, j'ai été immédiatement conquis par le jeu et j'ai acheté direct. L'univers sous marin, son côté à priori retro était vendeur. Mais les devs se sont clairement un peu laissé allé à la facilité, il s'agit là vraiment d'un "petit" jeu... limite d'une démo. Alors à 15€ au prix normal c'est quasi du vol. En promo à -75% vous pouvez vous laisser tenter par une petite plongée.
P.S. Mais par pitié chers amis devs... si vous ne connaissez rien au SHMUP... alors n'en faites pas ! Quel gâchi :-(

Earth Atlantis est un jeu de tir à défilement horizontal en 2D dans lequel vous pilotez un "chasseur" développé par une petite boîte thaïlandaise du nom de Pixel Perfex. Si je mets le chasseur entre parenthèses c'est avant tout parce que seuls et "désarmés" vous serez bien plus souvent la proie que le contraire, mais cela est-il donc intéressant de chasser et d'être chassé dans un monde ou l'humanité a quasiment disparu?
[u][b]Si l'homme pille la nature, peut-elle un jour se venger?[/b][/u]
L'histoire prend place alors que la civilisation humaine a sombré, les animaux marins se sont vus remplacés par des monstres mécaniques copiant leurs formes. Votre but sera de chasser certaines de ces créatures et d'explorer le monde marin. Vous faites partie des chasseurs et pour ça votre insubmersible est votre meilleur allié, vous aurez intérêt à l'améliorer sous peine de finir entre les mâchoires d'acier de ses poissons mi-animaux mi-machine, mais la vraie question est, serez-vous capable d'aller jusqu'aux bouts? Jusqu'aux point de non-retour?
[u][b]Un bon boss fighters?[/b][/u]
Comme je les dis plus haut, le jeu se veut en premier lieu comme un jeu de tir horizontal en 2D dans un labyrinthe, mais très rapidement on se rend compte que le jeu n'est ni plus ni moins qu'un boss fighters (à la manière de Cuphead). Alors certes le labyrinthe va vous pousser à vous perdre souvent et donc vous allez combattre souvent le menu fretin, mais le problème est qu'après une petite heure de jeu la map (bien qu'assez grande) vous devient familière et dans ces conditions vous pouvez facilement éviter les ennemis qui repop continuellement et ainsi allez combattre les vraies créatures intéressantes.

Les boss d'ailleurs ne sont finalement pas si nombreux que ça, à peine une vingtaine de boss réellement différent dans leurs formes et à peu près autant qui sont des formes "évoluer" des précédents avec de nouveaux pouvoirs, mais la technique restant la même vous n'aurez pas beaucoup plus de difficultés à vaincre le deuxième que le premier. En gros chaque boss est un ennemi commun en beaucoup, BEAUCOUP plus gros et encore certain boss sont même carrément des "groupes" de créatures normales juste plus nombreuses et identiques. Si vous n'aviez plus d'idée autant mettre moins de boss plus coriace... D'ailleurs parlons en encore un peu... Avec la bonne arme le jeu est véritablement facile en à peine trois heures, j'ai détruit presque la moitié des boss du jeu c'est pour dire...
Pourtant le menu fretin n'est pas non plus à prendre à la légère, car il y a un intérêt à les tuer, récupérer des bulles qui contiennent du matériel pouvant vous aidez à combattre les boss. De nouvelles torpilles, de la santé voire même de nouvelles armes (missile autoguidé, missile, mine, arc électrique) qui s'activerons en même temps que vos torpilles de base. Là encore ça pèche, car il est beaucoup trop facile de récupérer le matériel et les ennemis repop beaucoup trop rapidement, vous quittez la zone une seconde, les ennemis sont de retour ce qui se révèle rapidement frustrant en plus d'être inutile. Étant déjà boosté à fond, les combattre de nouveau est juste une perte de temps... Quitte à faire un boss fighter, pourquoi ne pas avoir permis de retirer toutes les créatures inutiles une fois booster à fond, car franchement vous ne mourrez jamais dû au menu fretin.
Personnellement je trouve le principe de pouvoir tirer dans deux directions à la fois, juste trop cheaté, quand vous êtes boosté à fond, vous tirez cinq torpilles de chaque côté, que voulez-vous qu'un boss vous fassent quand on sait que vos armes peuvent détruire presque tous les systèmes d'attaques ennemies (sauf les mines et les arcs électriques). Une fois au mieux de votre puissance, vous ne pouvez plus perdre sauf par erreur de votre part, donc...
Dernière petite chose sur les boss que je trouve vraiment bizarres, si vous prenez l'arc électrique et que vous combattez un boss le possédant aussi alors vous ne lui ferrez pas de dégâts avec, par contre lui vous en feras... Sérieusement? C'est quoi ce truc? Soit tout le monde prend, soit personne, les boss auraient le droit d'être immunisés et pas nous? Je valide, mais alors pas du tout ce principe-là.
Autre chose que je pensais utile et qui s'est finalement révélée étrange est le principe des checkpoints, alors certes revenir après une mort plus près de votre lieu de trépas peut sembler bien, mais rapidement vous comprendrez que c'est parfaitement inutile, car après chaque mort vous perdez une grande quantité des boosts récupérés précédemment donc vous devez repartir en chercher et ainsi vous éloignez du boss que vous souhaitez combattre... De plus si vous quittez le jeu (car la vraie vie vous rappel à l'ordre) alors vous aurez le loisir en revenant sur le jeu de voir que l'intégralité de ce que vous aviez récupérée dans votre "vie" précédente à disparus et vous êtes bon pour tous recommencer.

J'aurais bien aimé, mais j'aime aussi pas mal les graphismes de ce jeu, cependant certains de mes amis m'ont clairement fait comprendre que les trypophobes doivent éviter à tout prix d'y jouer sous peine de fuir à toutes jambes, donc... soyez prévenus. Pour ma part j'aime beaucoup le style dessin (au fusain je pense, mais pas sûr du tout) de ce jeu, je trouve qu'il apporte un petit côté bizarrement "réaliste" au jeu ce qui me va très bien.

Je n'ai rien contre la musique en soi elle est bien, se lance au bon moment et n'est pas trop forte, mais sérieusement, il aurait fallu en ajouter quelqu'une, car là c'est juste ridicule, je crois qu'il n'y a qu'une seule musique hormis celle des boss, donc vous en aurez rapidement plein les oreilles d'écouter en boucle cette musique.
Surtout qu'il n'y en a pas beaucoup plus pour les boss, je me demande même s'il ne s'agis pas de la même, mais en plus forte et plus rapide, donc non franchement il faut faire quelque chose pour les musiques.

Comme je les déjà dis plus haut, j'ai tué quasiment la moitié des boss en trois heures, alors non, le jeu à une durée de vie trop longue pour un remboursement, mais pas assez élevés pour valoir son prix. Après le but du jeu est sûrement de refaire plusieurs parties avec d'autres sous-marins, mais perso quand un jeu ne me plaît pas, je ne le referais pas de sitôt, donc je pense qu'il restera de mon point de vue, un jeu trop court.

Je pense que vous l'avez compris, mais non je ne recommande pas ce jeu, son histoire est anecdotique, son gameplay n'est pas encore terminé et sa durée de vie est trop courte en plus d'un prix beaucoup trop élevé selon moi, donc clairement je vous conseillerais plutôt CUPHEAD plutôt que ce jeu-là et ces dommages, vraiment...
Je m'en vais maintenant partir, les machines sont dans ma zone et s'amusent à détruire le peu qu'il nous reste, alors moussaillon préparé les torpilles et les mines, nous partons à la chasse aux gros gibiers!

Vraiment sympa, l'ambiance est sympa, les monstres sympas, les contrôles répondent bien, je n'ai pas relevé de bug.
Pour ceux que ça intéresse, le jeu s'avère plutôt court avec à peu près 2h en traînant un peu, et il faudra traverser en long et en large la seule carte du jeu, avec 3-4 checkpoints. donc libre à vous de le trouver trop cher à 15e et d'attendre des soldes, en tout cas, le fun est là, vous pourrez passer un bon moment :)

Ｍミサイル
などがあり、連続して同じアイテムを取得すると、
例えばＨ４つなら、ホーミングミサイル４連装になったりする。
Ｅ電撃は確実にヒットするので命中率は高いが威力が低い。
重ね取りをすると近距離は便利、
Ｈホーミングミサイルは、近距離は小回りが利かず不利になるが、
ボスなどの遠距離戦ではとても役立つ。
画面は地味に思えるが、派手はエフェクトが無いので見易く目に優しい、
音楽も雰囲気があって良い、
個人的には難易度はカジュアルで丁度いい感じ。

This game is really fun. I just randomly picked it out of my library and got a gem. The world is fun to explore. The boss fights are many and are fun. You will definitely miss out for not playing this game.
The only complaints I have are kinda nitpicky.
Having to re-grind all the power-ups every time you die or restart (well, 90% of them) got kind of old, especially near the end. For this reason, I ended up never relying on the sub-weapons since getting them powered back up was painful.
Speaking of pain, I wish there were some time of option that just let your ship keep firing. My hand literally hurt after awhile because I had to hold down the fire button constantly. I never saw any reason why I should have stopped shooting.
This one is more just me being unobservant, but I didn't even notice I had a map until shortly after I got the achievement for killing 50% of the bosses. A little less opaqueness would help there lol. I was just swimming around and running into the bosses.
Fun game, definitely recommend.
除非特價, 否則唔多吸引, 由頭到尾只在一個場景, 兜圈游來游去, 時間長了, 便非常悶, 來來去去都是這些雜魚。 SAVE POINT又屈機, 每次都要游好遠才到大佬。 所為的成就, 真係沒有太多成就感。 NORMAL爆機了, 都只是4/15完成。 真係好難再玩下去。
Good game, but nothing special.
맵 크기가 너무 작아요. 작은 맵에 여러보스들을 우겨넣었는데 보스들 위치도 몇군데 안되고 찾아가는 길이 똑같은 길 왓다갓다 지루햇음.. 그리고 풀아이템 먹고나서 저장시켜도 껏다키면 위치만 저장되고 아이템은 초기화되서 다시 먹어야 한다는게 짜증났어요.
보스 잡는다는 것만은 좋았고 한글화도 돼있는데 별 의미는 없음 1500원쯤 주고 삿지만 15500원 가격은 절대 아닌듯

What you need to know:
If this game had autofire you could play with one hand.
4 buttons that all do the same thing: hold to fire (presumably to help with the cramp from holding any one of them for too long)
1 button turns the radar off and on (why you would want it off is beyond me)
1 button turns the ship (generally useless as you usually fire in all directions anyway).
There are mutually exclusive extra weapons. Get E (energy) as it fires in close proximity in all directions.
Hanging out above or below a boss with the Energy weapon usually did the trick.
I can't decide if this is better or worse than The Aquatic Adventures of the Last Human. The boss fights are better (if less varied) here, exploration was better in TAAotLH.
Dear devs:
Autofire (there's no reason not to fire all the time, also my hand hurts)
Why not just boss rush? Travelling is gruelling (see above, ouch).

其次，作为横版飞行射击游戏。可以说，它将2D和3D融合到了一起。层次分明的地图设计，玩家船只的转身动作等。这些都是其融合的产物。可以说，一定程度上，是将游戏推向了更高处。而且，本作与其他大部分的同类型游戏不同。它放弃了主流的卷轴关卡形式，创造了一个复杂的地图出来，在地形复杂的区域中，会不断的有敌人刷新出来。玩家在不断进行游戏时，就仿佛在探索一个充满未知的迷宫。处处都可能会充满惊喜。
当然，作为横版飞行射击游戏，不同的武器类型和各种各样的boss也是必不可少的。这款游戏当中，有4个性能和主要攻击方式都不同的船只可以选择，但最初只解锁一个。其他的要玩家自己去解锁。boss也是独具特色，攻击模式多样的。

Lovely, distinctive, kinda retro-ish visual style and a quite ingenious little progression system the carefully unlocks mroe of the world as you beat bosses. Enough neato upgrades and choices to delve into and strategize with. Honestly this is a lot of fun. How many hours did I play? I can't see the number right now. You probably can. That's how fun it was!
You should play it. It's very good.
Simple pero entretenido, no necesita de grandes cosas para entretenerte y hacerte enojar al perder, y hacerte querer volver por mas, lo recomiendo.
It's a nice game with nice graphics. Very straightforward game.
However, what's bad is after a few hours, you'll get frustrated by trying to navigate through the same "maze of a map." Mostly, you have to circle back to the same areas, and you have to get through this "maze of a map."
Again, the game is not bad. It's the stupid map that frustrates me. This would have been an amazing game for Windows 95.

Shmups need a good hook to stand out from the pack, and Earth Atlantis definitely brings that to the table. Featuring a sketched, sepia-toned style that makes clever use of both 2D and 3D graphics, this one is sure to be eye-catching. It mixes up the gameplay, too, dropping you into the post-apocalyptic ruins of a flooded Earth (friendly reminder that climate change is real) to pilot your tanky submersible in hunts against mechanical beasties. The depths are swarming with robotic prey, and your job is to hunt down as many big bosses as you can.
It’s more of a score attack thing than most shmups, eschewing levels and progression for an open map full of targets to take down. A few are active at once, and new ones spawn in as you take down the old, so you’ll have your fill of bosses to battle and power-ups to hunt in between. The map will take some getting used to, though, choked with girders and debris that turn it into more of a maze than it really should be. Still, there are enough bosses and ships to hunt them in to last you a good long while, as well as a Hunter mode to unlock that surely changes the gameplay up somehow. For a compact shmup of a very different stripe, this one’s definitely worth a look.

Initially I wanted to write positive thoughts about this game, but I hadn't seen..the map! The positive is obviously the art! It is quite distinctive, the backgrounds are beautifully detailed, the animation is very life-like for its style and the overal 3D feeling it conveys just draws you in. The music is quite atmospheric too although repetitive being a fairly short loop.
BUT.. a) The bosses can be very unforgiving and "steal"/eat away your time because you cannot shoot them all the time but have to wait until they're vulnerable. That's just cheating! A few seconds is fine, but waiting half a minute or more is just not acceptable.
and b)... oh b).. The map! ..that map.. has one of THE MOST ATROCIOUS designs I have seen! Going in circles, dead ends and in general NOT where you want to go! When the "goal" is seemingly next to you, instead there's no direct way but to go around, aaaall the way to the back and then keep going and maybe you'll get lucky and find the next target in less than one minute! ONE MINUTE of just wondering around!! That's how bad the labyrinth is. It is insulting to the player's time how incredibly deceptive (on purpose?) this map is made (yes the mini map is a joke because it's basically a radar, not a map you can find your way).
This game could be have been a star in its genre. You keep staring at the beauty of it!..and then you play..that map..
PS. If they ever change the map alone, make some shortcuts or something, I'll even change to positive, but until then, my fun and patience has gone out the window.. Also it's quite pricey.

Sehr gute (360) Controller Unterstützung.
Volle Pillepalle bis man auf einen Boss trifft.
Extreme Schwierigkeitssprünge kann ich nicht leiden.
Evtl. muss man auch aufleveln, was ich auch persönlich in diesem Genre doof finde.
Fand's am Anfang toll, aber schnell hat sich der Frust eingestellt.
Nice art sytyle, but the the game gets boring realy fast with only 1 out of 5 secondary weapons that replace your previous alternative weapon on pickup and 1 fixed primary weapon per ship both of which can be temporary upgraded until you die. The radar only shows you where the pickups and boss enemies are, but you have to take a trip halfway around the map to get there when you navigate through the cave system. Without any dialog, collectibles("diary pages" or relicts with a flavorful description ) or cutscenes, it just doesn't feel like you are advancing in the story.
I received this game in a bundle for very cheap and am very happy so far. The game has some flaws such as the map system and a few small other things but nothing to deter me from recommending it. The game looks great and plays smooth as well. I've only finished about 8 percent of the game in half hour or so so i can't comment on the complete game but right when it starts you'll be finding yourself in one of several unique boss fights which i believe is a great strength of the game. The game seems to be challenging enough where it will be rewarding for hardcore gamers of the genre but also not too hard where casual gamers will be turned off as there are ample upgrades and powerups and the save points are very fair in each zone.
If anybody would like more information about the game i'd be happy to oblige but if you're a fan of the genre you should definitely pick this game up whether on sale or not.
Awesome art style, interesting bosses and quite good gameplay. Can be finished in a couple of hours so it does not get stale. There are minor balance issues and too much backtracking in places but Earth Atlantis is still a fun little game.

It took quite some time, but I can finally say that I have now played a game that draws inspiration from Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, a book I had to read way back in middle school. Earth Atlantis takes the general aesthetic of that book and makes a stylistic shoot 'em up where the player goes around hunting giant sea monsters. It sounds great on paper, but the game definitely has its fair share of issues.

[list][*][b]Nice art style.[/b] Right off the bat, the most notable thing about Earth Atlantis is the unique art style it goes for. It is played as if you were looking at an old paper map, with shades of brown making up the entire color palette. On top of that, the game draws inspiration from Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, even going so far as to name its primary submarine Nautilus. The monsters, vessels, and environments all fit within this aesthetic and provide for a very cool visual experience, so much so that the art style actually ended up being my favorite thing about the game.
[*][b]Upgrade system.[/b] Earth Atlantis basically plays like a shoot 'em up game. You travel around, killing enemies and defeating bosses all while earning upgrades along the way. What is cool about these upgrades though is the way the game balances them. When defeating certain enemies or shooting sunken barrels, upgrade bubbles will pop out. These bubbles can then be equipped to grant some sort of power-up, be it homing missiles, bouncing bombs, or electricity shots. The more you pick up of the same type of upgrade, the stronger the attack becomes. For example, picking up more bouncing bomb upgrades adds an additional bomb to the attack.
However, if you take damage, you slowly lose these upgrades, reverting back to the base state for each. The same applies to each ships' regular attack, which can also be upgraded to become stronger over the course of the game. As such, the game encourages you to take as little damage as possible in order to maximize your own damage. Given that health drops are plentiful, this provides a nice reward to those that are more careful when playing — it was a cool way to balance the game's difficulty.[/list]

[list][*][b]Lazily-implemented gameplay loop.[/b] Earth Atlantis is a game that revolves around exploring the map, finding cool upgrades, and killing bosses. The core gameplay there is fine, but what isn't cool is how the game lazily inflates its own playtime. Instead of providing new and interesting areas to explore and bosses to fight, the game instead has you traveling back and forth across the same map just to kill the same bosses with slightly upgraded attack patterns. I would often find myself killing a boss in one corner of the map, only for the game to place the next one on the opposite side of the map in an area I had already fully explored. Upon arriving, that boss would end up being the same one I had fought previously, but with an extra lightning attack or some other gimmick to change it up. Eventually, the game gives up on that and just starts throwing waves of regular enemies at you in place of proper boss fights. It felt incredibly lazy and, considering how long it takes to travel between battles, it really felt like a cheap way to make the game seem longer than it actually is.
[*][b]Lackluster radar feature.[/b] Part of the reason why that last con was so detrimental to the experience has to do with the game's lackluster radar feature. Earth Atlantis does provide the player with a minimap (called radar in the game) that shows the locations of upgrades and bosses, providing a general direction on where to go next. What it does not do, however, is provide anything other than that. The radar does not draw any walls, objects, or anything else that the player can actually see when in-game — it's simply a blank rectangle scattered with icons. As such, it comes down to the player to memorize the map layout in order to get around to the different bosses. This makes the traveling a lot more painful than it needs to be, as the player ends up spending more time trying to figure out where each tunnel led rather than actually taking on bosses — the fun part of the game. It also definitely does not help that the map is designed like a maze, with some areas requiring the player to travel down an unnecessarily complex path in order to get there. Again, it feels like this was done to inflate the game's playtime.
[*][b]Hard to tell projectiles apart.[/b] I did praise the game's art style, but it unfortunately comes with a glaring flaw: that being that it becomes hard to tell friendly projectiles apart from enemy ones. It is not so bad at the start, but once you have a fully upgraded ship and are taking on a screen full of enemies, it just becomes a mess to keep track of what is going on. I ended up dodging my own attacks several times simply because many of them looked the same as enemy attacks. For example, the homing missile upgrade looks almost identical to that of missiles fired by a certain enemy. In a shoot 'em up game like this where there are projectiles everywhere, it is very important that the player be able to identify friend from foe. Earth Atlantis, however, pretty much just fails on that front.[/list]
[h1]Overall:[/h1]
Earth Atlantis may look good, but unfortunately it is brought down by its lazily-implemented gameplay loop, lackluster radar feature, and accessibility issues. I did also like the upgrade system, but I have a hard time recommending the game when such glaring negatives are present. This is definitely the type of game that is just better-off being played on your phone.

This game's artstyle blew my mind. It's gorgeous. Gameplay can be a bit stale at times and sometimes trying to find the way to progress can get a little annoying, but it's for sure a fun game that I'd like to explore a lot more!

Well, bugger me - it’s now the end of the 21st century and the argument that has been circulating the world for more than 100 years about the earth getting warmer has ended on the 31st of December 2100. And let me tell you, it wasn’t pretty! This sphere with beautiful landscapes and cities, spread across five . . . maybe six or even seven, continents (to make everyone happy), has significantly shrunk. What that means is that our land mass has reduced to 20 million km2 from its original 510.1 million km2. And yes, most of it is now underwater. This world is now called Earth Atlantis!
Earth Atlantis is a side scroller shooter developed by Pixel Perfex and published by Headup Games. With the use of one of 4 submersibles (one at the start and three to unlock), you’ll dive deep into a post-apocalypse ocean world and hunt mechanical sea monsters.
There are two modes of play: the Quest mode (which is available straight away) and the Hunter mode (which needs to be unlocked). With this, there are the usual three levels of difficulty - easy, normal and hard.
As you start your first playthrough, you’ll have no choice about which submersible to use; it will be the Nautilus. The other subs are basically pirate ships which will appear as you go through the game and you’ll need to defeat each one to acquire them. Then they’ll be available for selection if you restart a game, or at your last save point, which are mechanical beacons scattered around the map. Each sub has its own unique shooting style, as well as three main skills with a slight variety; one might be faster, or have more armour or better weapons than another, and they all look different!
The world map will be on the top left of your screen, and will display only two icons: large white dots, and two swords crossing over each other. The swords will pinpoint where the next big fight or boss is located, while the large white dots are where you’ll find the item boxes, which will give you access to deadly secondary weapons. Out of the four weapons available, my favourites are the bouncing bombs and the homing missiles. Some of the bosses will take more time to defeat if you choose the wrong secondary weapon, as they are more or less immune to them. The best part is that you’ll never know before you get there. As there is no path displayed on the map, it can take a while to reach a location, which is a lot of fun too.
The artwork is just sublime, as is the gameplay. I am always apprehensive when I play these types of games, because they must have fluidity, good controls, challenging, fun action, and plenty of different foe to keep you entertained in order for you to want to see more. Well I can tell you, Earth Atlantis hit all these spots for me!
From the start, you’ll have enemies coming from both sides of the screen, and as you progress through the game, bigger, stronger enemies will come at you with their own specific weapons. But that’s not all - crabs, marine plants and crayfish will shoot projectiles from buildings and rocks, just to make it harder for you. Destroy as many as possible and be rewarded with power-ups, which will upgrade your main weapons up to 4 times. However, if you keep taking hits, you’ll lose health, power-ups and secondary weapons too. It’s fast and furious, especially on the hardcore difficulty. To give you the heads-up, after 5 hours of playing the game on my first playthrough, I only managed to reach 70% of the game. Sure, I am mucking around here and there to find more about the game, but boy it’s good!
Stunning artwork and the game runs smoothly. The tutorial is a few pages to read with easy and straight to the point layout. Nice soundtrack that fits the game perfectly, and responsive controls. On top of that, Earth Atlantis offers great replay-ability!

This one remind me one of the best casual shooting game. Incredible modern classic gameplay and graphic style.
All the bosses has unique pattern itself that's make no boring to get over them.

Highly reccommend to play. Discovery variety of monster sea that you will never seen before.
First, Graphics: This game looks pretty damn gorgeous. It's like an illustation from Jules Verne's novels. Surely, some people may find it too monotonious but I think the visual fit the game's theme pretty well. One down side, some enemies are difficult to spot. Occasionally, enemy's bullets can be difficult to see.
Gameplay: If you like an retro shmup on NES (Gradius, etc.), you will probably like this game. It's not a fast-pace game though. It's kinda slow when you navigate through the map but it get more exciting when facing boss monsters. Also, this game is NOT a bullet-hell shmup. Don't buy this game if you are looking for a bullet-hell game.
This game has one big level (metroidvania style) which is quite interesting - defintely different from a typical stage by stage Shmup games. Boss battles are chalanging. Some bosses are a bit tough at first but when you understand there moving & attacking patterns then it will get easier. I like the fact that you need to learn monster patterns in order to beat them.
There is one thing that irritates me. I don't like a mini-map (or whatever it called). It only shows the player and boss locations. You may get lost easily until you remember the whole map.
Sounds/Music: Background music is a bit repettitive but Boss battle music is AWESOME (if you like epic orchestra music).
Controls: The control is too simple. Just Two action buttions - Shoot and Turn. Plus, you can play with WASD with mouse click.
So far, I like it. The game is a very unique game. Not the best in the genre (of course) but definitely worth playing. It reminds me very old-school NES shmups. 8/10
