For a first-time, self-taught developer's first game, this is pretty good. It's what you'd expect from what is essentially a Desert Strike fan-clone made by someone learning game development. There are various difficulty settings for your preferred level of crunchiness, such as enabling fuel, for example. Can't go wrong for a dollar, if only to remind yourself of the classic Genesis game.
es lo mejor este juego
nice, legalzinho
Has no controller support. Is not a proper "twin stick" shooter. Still, if you can handle the relatively easy mouse and keyboard controls, it's pretty easy.
An okay budget * Strike series clone - short and not much variety but still fun to relive the memories.
Внезапно клон серии Desert Strike с сеги в топдаун стилистике аки RED Zone на той же сежке,Ну как ради такой годноты пройти мимо тем более за 30р!!
The game isn't that bad, considering this game is the only thing similar to strike series available for steam.
However, It need some more works.
The game is very short with only 4 levels, and the fact that it doesn't show anything but radars while flying helicopter is very inconvenient. To check your helicopter's condition or objectives, you have to hit the space bar.
I know that strike series did the same thing to minimalize the UI for less slowdowns, but in 2018 There's no technical limitation like that anymore.
Sadly, I didn't have a great time with this. I mean, it's cheap and it's the developer's first game so I can excuse a lot, but I couldn't get the helicopter to turn, which is a bit of a dealbreaker.
I thought, ok, the cannon rotates so I'll try it anyway, I can just strafe and stuff... But the gun has a limited arc (which is fair enough) and bridges, as in the really short, flat bridges you can see in the video above, block bullets and missiles so when I found a technical that was directly North of a bridge, I couldn't kill it. Then I found a small village with some mobile SAMs, one fired missles at me so I dodged them, then they came back around again... And again... And again... I thought that was kind of weird. Stranger still is that I could shoot over the buildings which were clearly taller than the bridge I failed to shoot over just seconds prior.
I died and, to be honest, had no desire to keep playing. I feel like if it had controller support I would've enjoyed it a bit more but frankly, if I thought the developer was a native English speaker I would be dismayed at the whole "Features: Twin stick helicopter shooter." "Controls: Currently the game only supports the keyboard and mouse." thing.
In any case, even if it worked it doesn't look like it'd scratch the Desert/Nuclear/Soviet Strike itch I've had for decades now, but when it's got controller support and the game-breaking bugs are fixed I might come back for another go.
