This is an older game, (2002 I think), and it's not perfect but it's a fun little dungeon crawler. I've spent 12 hours this run and have barely scratched the surface.
I remember when I first saw this game at my school friend's house; I was instantly fascinated by the graphics, the realistic arrows flying through the air, and the 3D world, having played only Diablo up until that point. In DS, you feel like you are on an adventure. Lighting up torches, finding secrets here and there, they all make for a great atmosphere that I find myself coming back to again. It's straight fun with great orchestral music.
Note: I already completed this game several times years ago, so ignore the steam-hours.
A very solid dungeon crawler to this day, and in my opinion the best one of its time. Is it better than Diablo 2? Mechanically no. Story wise yes.
Where Diablo has a very boring "christians vs satanists" plot that they keep sticking with no matter how tedious it gets, the world of Dungeon Siege is mysterious, weird and slightly creepy (and each game has new protagonists and antagonists). The tasks you have to complete are also more down to earth and realistic and not "here is a stick, go kill a god". Similarly I like that you are not the chosen one, you are just "some dude who decided to do something about the state of the world". Your character is so unimportant, that you can even kick your own main character from the team and have a team of only recruitable NPCs. I like this a lot.
The game lacks automation due to its age, yet somehow your squad members gets stuck on the environment less in this game than in the sequel (what's up with that, Gaspowered Games?). It does mean that you will often have to micromanage the movements and actions of each team member individually, pausing and unpausing combat a lot. This can either work well when it's for strategic purposes, or be very annoying when it is because your healer insists on walking into the enemy swarm and stand still. Thankfully, the elevators are not as small as they are in the sequel (again, what the hell, Gaspowered Games?) so maneuvering your team onto them is not as problematic as it will be in the next game. This might seem like a tangent, but these games have a lot of elevators, and you will accidentally split up your team and cause a wipe several times on your first playthrough, so SAVE OFTEN.
If you like an unforgiving game with no fast travel, no overworld map, an old school look and a solid story, try it out. If you are into these types of games, this game is one of the best the genre has to offer. Another thing which is very impressive about this game: there are no loading screens. If there were no enemies, you could literally walk from the first area through the entire game, all the way to the final boss arena without a single loading screen. The entire game map is seamless, which is pretty crazy, considering it takes upwards of 30+ hours to beat the game, if you know what you are doing.
Note: there is a bug in the game that sometimes cause the game to crash around Jeriah's Trading Post (right after rescuing Merik) so save as soon as you have Merik in your team. I thought they had fixed it with the Steam version, but nope, it is still there, and I encountered a hefty loss of progress, just like when I was 9.

It's a mix of Diablo and Pillars of Eternity. There's loot like an ARPG but it's much slower paced.
Unfortunately requires a mod to get the expansion to work on Steam, which I found much more enjoyable than the base game.
Das gute alte Dungeon Siege, Es war das allererste Spiel in dem man nicht durch Charakter Punkte Statuswerte erlangt sonder direkt durch das was man tut. Was schade daran ist das das Remake nicht mehr in deutscher Sprachausgabe verfügbar ist. Denn auch wenn die Deutsche Sprachausgabe damals nur von einem einzigen Synchron Sprecher gesprochen wurde war dieser Synchron Sprecher trotzdem sehr gut. Das war zu den Zeit eines der wenigen Spiele in der die deutsche Sprachausgabe tatsächlich gut war. Das Spiel war auch eines der ersten in dem man in einer Gruppe in den Kampf ziehen konnte. Und ja das haben sie auch gut umgesetzt. Was sie echt verdammt gut gemacht haben das sie im Gegensatz zu früher die Gruppen Obergrenze entfernt haben. So kann man nicht nur mit 4 Gruppenmitgliedern in den Kampf ziehen wie früher. Und hat obendrein endlich mal die Möglichkeit auch noch ein Maultier mitzunehmen. Und ja das ist eines der wenigen Spiele in denen es Maultiere giebt. Ich kann es nur jedem Rollenspieler sehr ans Herz legen. Das Spiel hat zwar keine tiefe Story aber dafür ist es doch harmonisch und mystisch. Die Kämpfe sind interessant gestaltet und wenn man mal abschalten will kann man einfach eines der Bücher lesen um wieder runter zu kommen. Das Spiel macht einfach immer wieder Laune !
As good a game as I remember when playing it 25 years ago.
The only issue was leveling.
You either commit to a class or commit to never leveling up as the farther you are in the game in one class, the less experience points you can earn in the other classes.
They purposely subtract the amount of points you get if you play out of class so if you use bows for the first 20 or so levels, then use a nature spell or a melee weapon, you are pretty much guaranteed to slowly dwindle down to near nothing in points per damage caused using magic.
Once you get near 50 in any skill, do not even bother trying to gain in the other classes.
I can see why they did it, but did they have to make it so extreme?
Leveling up in melee or range skills does nothing. It's strength and dexterity that matter for those classes.
Between the two strength has the highest value. Dexterity may help you get the more powerful bows, but beyond that does not appear to have any impact on range or damage caused.
Where the skills matter is in nature or combat magic.
There you can level up in intelligence and not really care too much about strength or dexterity although you still build them up over time.
As for gameplay, it's pretty solid for the time it came out. Stable for the most part with few areas for crashing. There are secret levels that you are next to never going to be able to find cause they require you have items that you have no reason in hell to keep, like the first blade you start the game with. Keep it. It comes in handy as a key to enter the chicken level. The game could have had lots more of these and made it more fun but in the late 90's and early 2000s even just this was novel.
There are cheats codes if you find money scarce in the beginning, which you will.
There are also mods. Lots of them that you can still use, even today as there is a large fan community.
One such mod that helps overcome the leveling issue are rings you can randomly find as dropped loot that will multiple the XP points. I found that by the time I got to Cast Ehb, having one where you get 10 million points her hit still moves you up slowly. It didn't seem to be that bad when we played it 25 years ago.
The experience now is also a lot different between having the game CDs or playing it on steam.
They disabled the multiplayer.
I know why. Playing multiplayer now has changed too much since the early 2000s, but the multiplayer map that came with the game was pretty darn cool.
Like having two games in one. And the desert section of the multiplayer map was cool cause you really do get lost and have to make your way across an endless desert. They could have disabled the multiplayer play, but let us use the map.
What a loss.
Playing the game was sentimental for me. My friends and I used to play this every weekend with our desktops and 485 CPUs with 8megs of ram plugged into one another via the coax cables.
You never lost connection that's for sure.
One of my friends we played it with every weekend for months at a time died last summer.
So for him I played it again and thought about him and his nature magic class the entire time.

Calificar a este juego de forma negativa, posiblemente sea para problemas, pero acá vamos.
Correr este juego en el 2026 es bastante mas complejo de lo que me ha resultado con otros títulos viejos. Este es un juego que tiene problemas con las resoluciones actuales y los equipos actuales tienen problemas con las resoluciones antiguas. Si pones una resolución muy alta, el HUD se achica y viceversa.
A diferencia de juegos actuales donde uno achica el HUD, acá es imprescindible que tenga un buen tamaño para poder seleccionar las habilidades y hechizos.
Además de esto, si buscas jugar en español, tenes que descargar el paquete de voces desde fuentes externas (hay guias en Steam).
Respecto al juego:
- El plot es básicamente una raza que se creía extinta (Seck) vuelve a aparecer y ahora quieren controlar el mundo (me recuerda un poco a la plaga del Dragon Age Origins). A partir de ello, se suceden una serie de hechos en cascada hasta llegar a nuestro personaje que se vuelve un héroe.
- El avance es 100% lineal: Haces una misión en un punto A y tenés que seguir al punto B donde realizas otra misión. No hay fast travel. Si te olvidaste realizar/entregar una mision secundaria, tenes que volver a patín (caminar).
- Los comandos del teclado son algo raros de entender y poder usar satisfactoriamente. El 90% es control con el mouse.
- El juego es muy repetitivo: te enfrentaste contra 3 mobs? Bueno, ahora te enfrentas con 10. Así es todo el juego hasta llegar a un boss y repetir todo otra vez hasta la final.
- El sonido recuerda al Age of Empires, aunque no encontré ningún wololo.
- Los diálogos y cutscenes son escasas y no aportan mucho al juego.
Ya sé, es un juego del 2002, pero para el mismo año creo que el Divine Divinity es muchas veces superior: Ahí hay humor, dálogos, decisiones que afectan el curso del juego y el desarrollo de personajes, el loot tiene sentido, las misiones te llevan por distintos lugares y hay un fast travel (limitado pero lo hay).
Tiempo normal de juego de 20 a 30 horas.
In short, I enjoy playing this game after dropping it 20 years ago, when I was a kid and I created fond memories.
This games atmosphere is like no other. It is the purest form of show and don't tell, there is some naration, but most of the game just throws you in. After inital loading and lets you play uninterupted seamlessly, which is just so excilerating.
It has a drop of dark fantasy, bad things happen and doesn't get shunted. Some people have something left to live for, but a lot of people lost their lives in this crises and increases in levels of chaos as you get closer to the calamity.
And the atmosphere, running through the woods, in wet and snow conditions, is absolutely the highlight for me. It feels very nostalgic.
The game is old and clunky which can be patched with some generic mods from NexusMods that fix some of these downsides. I'm simply thankful to enjoy this adventure fully now after all this time.

Un juego sencillo de entender, con mapas complejos e historias y misiones interesantes.
Sse vi piacciono i giochi vecchio stile, se vi piacciono i dungeon, allora non potete farvi scappareDungeon Siege 1. È fantastico nella sua semplicità, Il mondo è tutto unito, senza pause per caricare, parti da un villaggio tranquillo e finisci in caverne buie e montagne ghiacciate.
Inizi come un contadino con una pala, subito arrivano i Kruge che devi combattere, salvi il regno da un nemico antico, la storia è semplice, tipo fantasy base, ma ti ci perdi dentro.
La parte figa è il gruppo di eroi, un party da 8 compagni che arruoli in giro per il mondo di gioco man mano che prosegui (fate attenzione a visitare tutti i posti a volte potete arruolare un mago o un guerriero in una caverna o dietro passaggi segreti) cè anche la possibilità di avere in party un mulo ed usarlo come storage di oggetti raccolti... AHAHAH fantastico ma preferisco party full eroi, il mulo non combatte.
Niente classi fisse usi la spada? Diventi forte con la spada. Arco? Diventi tiratore. Magia? Lanci palle di fuoco o curi, combattimenti veloci, tipo clicca e uccidi, pausa per ordini, ti organizzi e vai.
Grafica bella per l'epoca, attenzione alla risoluzione bloccata, ci sono mod ma a volte non funzionano correttamente, ancora ok su PC nuovi funziona perfettamente (sia su Steam o GOG ho la trilogia di Dungeon Siege su entrambe le piattaforme). Musica epica, se devo trovare dei difetti, dopo tante ore si ripete. Inizio difficile. Controlli vecchi (ma con mod si risolve).
Per me è top, il genere di gioco che preferisco, 50 ore facili. Giocatelo!
NOTA MOLTO IMPORTANTE: se giocate da più postazioni come il sottoscritto, sappiate che steam non supporta per questo gioco i salvataggi nel cloud, scegliete la versione GOG, ma attenzione, il limite massimo di GOG per i salvataggi è 200mb, oppure, piccolo accrocchio che ho usato, su windows 11 sincronizzo la cartella Documenti dove stanno i salvataggi con OneDrive, cosi facendo da ogni postazione su cui si accede, si attende un attimo la sincronizzazione del salvataggi e si gioca, semplice e funzionale.

Dungron Siege is an amazing represntation of what crpgs used to be. Real Time with Pause combat is fun, and yet can be frustrating if you dint prepare for the fight ahead. No loading screens in a game from the early 2000s is also a plus. The story and characters are light, but the most important thing is the journey. From start to Finish, is an amazing game.

Друзья мои - прошёл 24ч.(рили в игре 20 - иногда отходил ,паузы и тд), ну что я могу сказать, данный экспонат явно стоит внимания ценителей, я человек не молодой, но не думаю, что читающий данный комментарий им является.
Не хочу расписывать плюсы и минусы, так как данная игра не имеет контрольной точки сравнения.
На релизе в ~2002 мне она показалась довольно скучной, но проходя заново я понял, что я доходил только до 3 CHapter-a (зимы или чуть дальше)...
Как по мне в 2026, немного затянутый геймплей, довольно скучный и банальный сюжет, и ужасная дропитем система (либо полный калл, либо имба на которую не хватает статов, а когда хватит - станет каллом).
Так или иначе игра проходится за неделю, по 3-4 часа после работы, и реально несёт желание в неё вернутся.
Так же отлично подходит как лекарство для людей, которые зажрались.... Потом заходишь в современное, и ценишь каждое удобство интерфейса, адаптивность камеры и графику...а где-то замечаешь и украденные от сюда идейки...
В целом рекомендую, маст хев, но второй раз проходить не буду, с учётом что это классика

An outstanding Fantasy RPG from Gas Powered Games(R.I.P). An engaging story with fun gameplay and impressive visuals, for a game that arrived two decades ago. Well worth your time.
From my experience, the plot and gameplay of Dungeon Siege is the perfect depiction of what its like being drunk at a friend's house party and leaving early to walk home at 1AM, but you live in a town many many miles away.
I have more hours on the physical copy I own from eons past, but this game is an essential Old Skool RPG to have in your belt to say that you've completed it, and to enjoy the habit of making Krug noises at people you don't want to talk to.
Great inventory and UI, fun spells, neat enemies, cool items, nice world/worldbuilding, regularly on sale for Dirt Cheap.
It's an older title and as a fellow fossil I can't really complain much, good luck adventuring.
Bought it for easy Play. Thought Steam made it year 2020+ compatible. They didn't. It still only works well with DXWnd and / or compability mode (needed to start the game).

DS is one of my favorite games but Microsoft utterly beefed the franchise. The bundle is likely on deep discount to prepare for eventual delistment since nobody that owns this IP is maintaining it.

I get to talk about how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ much this game is my everything. I'm writing a game system presently and part of my process is how to conceptualize progress. this game does it with distance. As you become more segregated from home you grow and come closer to the ultimate truth.
I played the well-known fixed version that’s easy to find in the guides section, and it’s still as addictive as it was a quarter of a century ago. A true classic—and a rare example of a party-based ARPG. Easy recommendation.
I’m now moving on to the second game with the Legendary mod, which includes all the maps from DS1. I’m looking forward to experiencing it all there.
Bought this in early 2000's. Fun to relive again. Steam helps in the resolution aspect making it flawless on my 70" tv.

I have a lot of nostalgia for this game but sadly this game has aged badly and is not as good as i remember it being. It's not a bad game but in the steam version you do not get multiplayer/co-op.
Me and my cousin fixed a patch which made it abel to play co-op but it did not work so well.

its an old but playable game for fans of old school RPG
This game is a marathon slugfest. Once you beat it, you'll want to immediately run through it again. Obviously this game isn't what it used to be. Originally, the fun of the game was leveling up in campaign to transfer over to the multiplayer realm where you could level up farther, get better items, play with others and explore a whole new world. What's left now is just a classic work of art and an ode to a simpler time in gaming. Worth every penny. Hit F9 often.

当年是个神作，但放在现在只能怀个旧了。
无论哪方都太落后了，已经不适合游玩了。
除非优化下游玩体验 重置一下可能...
Love the game, but this version of it on Steam is horrible. The DLC is missing (Legends of Aranna), Multiplayer is "DISABLED" (although this can be bypassed with a launch option: 'zonematch=true'), very prone to crashing (try running in compatibility mode for XP SP2), requiring a ton of unnecessary intervention and mitigation that should've been taken care of with a simple patch, or at the very least DISCLOSED BEFORE PURCHASE. I've also heard towards the end of the campaign it becomes impossible to complete due to game breaking bugs. After recently running a LAN with the boys on this one, we ended up just dusting off the old CDs we had, installing a quick patch, and tried running it that way.
If you want the game for the game and don't intend on trying it through Multiplayer, know that it will be missing a lot, but it's still there. Only worth getting this one on sale (as of writing it's on sale for $0.97). Not sure if the reason for a lot of this is due to some disagreement between Publishers and their IP, but god what a mess.
one of my PC all time favourites. They need to get multiplayer mode up and running because I would spend some hours on that definitely. Great childhood game for me, when I used to visit my uncle Ste who was big gamer anyway, he bought dungeon siege on disc, he got it in 2003 on one of his old desktops. Me and my siblings would take turns trying to get past chapter 1 hahaha. Excellent ambiance to the surroundings of the game, one of the best for it's time for me. cheap as chips as well which is a bonus.
Fascinating game. In game need many walking how it is old school games. Music is enjoyable! Many quests. You can take tasks, but it's not necessary to complete all of them.

This game is distinctly vintage, but it takes me back to the days when I was trying to game on a Mac. Worth another play-through, if you have happy memories of it from before.

para los años que tiene es muy buen juego tiene sus problemillas pero son cosas de la epoca, sin contar algunos problemas con windows por ser un juego tan viejo, mi unica queja de algo que en su dia si pudieron arreglar y no lo hicieron es lo incomodo que es para atacar a distancia un clic en falso y estas corriendo hacia el enemigo cuando lo que querias es usar el arco o tirar una bola de fuego pero aun con eso es totalmente jugable en pleno 2025 y un gran juego

②経験値配分が厳しい。敵の数が有限。経験値はしけ。レベルは上がりにくい
ステ振り直しもありません。かなり育成苦しいです。無限出現箇所は一応あります
③敵が山のようにいる。特に戦術もへったくれもない戦闘が続く
④ダンジョンにギミックなどがない。しかもかなり広い。心折れます
⑤終盤の雑魚敵が異常な強さ。HARDのみ。強すぎてストレスたまります
⑥パーティーの預かり施設がない。アイテム保管場所もない。ラバ必須
⑦初期の雑魚武器ナイフを捨ててはいけない
エップ王国編しか収録してない本作ではほぼ無縁ですが
⑧コントローラーパッド未対応
⑨後半に覚える魔法ほど強いとかそんな事がないため育成の喜びが薄い

I ran the game at a low resolution on my laptop (720p) and launched via the game .exe, not Steam (this is why my gameplay time is off, id actually have +100hrs). Sometimes it wouldn’t launch and I would just try again. It ran great and never crashed.

[h2]Gameplay Loop and Difficulty[/h2]
Gameplay loop is very addictive and exciting. That’s what made it great as a kid and great replaying it now 20 years later. Nothing has aged in that sense.
Being able to control a whole PARTY of NPCs instead of just one has made me feel other ARPGs. It made others like PoE, Diablo, feel inferior and boring to this day for me.
Difficulty is not mindless, but not difficult. A perfect balance of relaxing and engaging.
I played on hard difficulty. You do have to make sure your party composition works together, have enough potions, and manually heal with potions and spells and manually cast summons as there is sadly no effective autocasting. It is pretty straightforward. I don't know why I saw people on YouTube saying it's difficult. Quicksave often and revive your teammates with spells as there's no consequence for them dying often. Maybe people missed that mechanic.
Sure, there are all these party movement management features and also buff and debuff spells; but honestly, I didn’t use any one of it. It was easy enough to just hack and slash your way through the whole game, even the (sadly) few and far between bosses. For example, I basically just played with the mouse, excluding the H key for heal. But to me that’s why it was so enjoyable. I was never strained by difficulty but I was not bored as I still had to keep up with the gameplay loop or die.

You level up your character by just using it.
Want a mage? Use spells.
Want an archer? Shoot arrows.
Very straightforward and I got most of my fun from rounded out champions with minor classes allowing them all to use certain spells or equipment they otherwise wouldn't.
XP is not even though. It is based off how much damage you deal to an enemy. This means melee/tanks will level up rather substantially and healers will fall behind in level the longer you have them. This was noted in other reviews and there are overhaul mods which fix the XP system. Something I did not try but the overhauls seem to fix all my complaints and I will try it next run.
[h2]XP - Summoning[/h2]
I had all my characters be summoners. This added a lot to the fight: fun, cannon fodder and damage. Your summon’s damage will contribute to your magic level allowing more powerful summons but not your base intelligence level which is needed for mana. You have to cast spells yourself to keep your intelligence levelled. For example my tank had 15 INT and 25 Combat Magic. This meant all my non-mages classed themselves out of having enough mana to summon at all (even entry level spells). I had to buff them all with rings to keep up.
On top of this, shops scale with how far you are into the game, meaning you cannot buy basic items and spells in the later game shops. So make sure you hold onto a few early game items for your minor classes. I recommend spending all your early money on spellbooks as they will scale so far beyond you in the later games. I do wish the shops had more entry level items for more experimentation.
[h2]Wiki Game?[/h2]
Sometimes I do really wish I had more of a breakdown on skills and items or a training area. Examples would be: deeper information on summon’s walk speeds, dmg and hp, AoE effects on spells and weapons, Armour pen. is basically a black box and I got no clue how it works, Clearer information on what things do like melee and ranged level (which increase your base damage amount independent of weapon, something i didnt notice until late game). Sadly being such an old game, we aren't blessed with an impossibly thorough wiki like we are used to nowadays.
[h2]Quick Notes[/h2]
- When your characters die, they spray their items on the floor. Item text FILLS the screen immediately until you turn off item labels. It's so visceral I love it. I do wish though, you could custom label some items so you know who owns what as it was cumbersome if multiple characters die in the same spot.
- This really is a run from A to B game. Which is fine. There are often moderate length dead ends shooting off from the main corridor for bonus loot and adventure. The game is quite long, which took me 40hrs exploring all dead ends. A bit long. Which was fine; but, it would have benefitted from a bit more reinforcement as to why we are doing the adventure through story.
- There are no loading screens. This impacts more than you think making the journey through the wide linear corridor from start to finish really feel like such a long adventure.
- The multiplayer map is unique and is just as big as the base game and I recommend trying though I didn't though as i dont have friends.
- Graphics have of course aged but style is still there. The style is generic fantasy but it has enough personality and character in quite a significant amount of varied enemies, weapons, spells and locations that don't leave you fighting with or at the same things for very long.
- Mage robes looked cool but were useless. As with most ARGBs, light armour makes no sense.
- There were few glitches. The only noteworthy one being the audio engine kind of sucked. Audio would distort and crackle in full combat scenes. Also, random sound effects would randomly play as you walked around. This was disorientating when its potion on summoning sfx. Music was by the amazing Jeremy Soule but they were quite short and repetitive, something I noticed in slower early game, but not so much in late game with so much going on in battle. This is a part of the game that has aged somewhat.
[h2]Conclusion[/h2]
DS1 has aged quite well. It is still very enjoyable today. I could sense that Gas Powered Games had more plans for DS1. Just little moments of game design where you know they could have taken an idea further but ran out of time. Like how the last 20% of the game has far more unique rooms, drops, auto saves than the rest combined. And with DS2 they really expanded on the formula. The story is so generic you’ll miss nothing going straight to the sequel. Which is why I say, go play that as it is stand alone.

In questo gioco arpg, impersonate un protagonista che potete scegliere modificando il suo aspetto, che da contadino/a si ritrova a salvare l'intero regno. Il gioco è ben fatto ed è un miracolo che funziona su win 10 ovviamente in bassa risoluzione e con grafica da ps1 poco più potente, ma ha molte limitazioni per prima cosa il level design è una strada unica e non ci sono teletrasporti di sorta. Se riempite il vostro inventario e quello dei vostri compagni che man mano recluterete, sarete costretti a ritornare a piedi dall'ultimo venditore incrociato. Ci sono due tipi di venditori quelli che vendono tutto. E quelli specializzati in magie pozioni e varie come nell'accademia dei maghi o quelli specializzati in armature armi e scudi come il fabbro della prima città. Il vostro party può contare su max 8 elementi e ognuno potete mandarlo via in qualsiasi momento. Poi ci sono i muli che occupano uno dei otto slot, non possono attaccare sono molto deboli, in compenso hanno uno spazio dell'inventario il doppio o triplo di un personaggio che può attaccare e altro. Quindi dipenderà da voi se usare uno slot per l'inventario con il mulo o semplicemente reclutare un nuovo personaggio che possa aiutarvi a lottare contro i nemici. L'altro problema è che i nemici finiscono, e quindi non potete livellare al max tutti i personaggi, in più, i maghi non saranno mai abbastanza intelligenti per poter far resuscitare un vostro compagno. I vostri alleati e il giocatore, hanno l'energia vitale con la solita barra rossa, una volta esaurita il personaggio sviene e il suo riquadro diventa rosso, ma se nel frattempo, il nemico continua ad attaccare lo stesso personaggio, può morire direttamente, rilasciando tutto ciò che portava, e siccome i maghi non avranno mai la forza e il mana per farlo resuscitare, va da se che vi conviene ricaricare una partita. Riguardo i salvataggi sono automatici solo in alcuni lunghi tratti della storia, per il resto vi conviene salvare manualmente tra un salvataggio automatico e un altro. Il level up dei personaggi riguarda la loro specializzazione non ci sarà mai un tutto fare, neanche il personaggio del giocatore per colpa dei nemici finiti. Se un personaggio attacca corpo a corpo, aumenta velocemente la sua forza un poco la destrezza e per nulla l'intelligenza. Se invece attacca con l'arco, aumenta di molto la destrezza di poco la forza e per nulla l'intelligenza, ovviamene se fa magie l'intelligenza è quella che aumenta velocemente. C'e un problema, le armi e le armature si possono indossare avendo tot punti su varie voci, per gli archi c'e bisogno di forza e destrezza, per i bastoni l'intelligenza, spade e simili solo di forza. Invece le armature unicamente di forza, i vestiti di intelligenza. in giro per il mondo di gioco, alcuni nemici o casse possono rilasciare amuleti o anelli, che possono aiutare ad aumentare una delle voci. Il problema è che il loot è random, nella maggior parte dei casi ciò che rilasciano i nemici è immondizia buona per vendere. Almeno all'inizio sarete quasi sempre a corto di soldi ma da un certo punto del gioco in avanti, anche grazie alle vendite di oggetti, inutili per rafforzare il personaggio arriverete al max dei soldi che è possibile tenere, i famosi 99999999.
Se volete perdere una quintalata di tempo dietro a un arpg molto antico di concezione, vi potrete un pochino divertire. Altrimenti, passate bellamente oltre. Ma a 3 euro l'intera trilogia era un acquisto che non si poteva rifiutare. lol ^^;
Dimenticavo, sembra che con l'acquisto del gioco, si aveva anche il suo dlc, peccato che non si sblocca su steam, ci sono guide che vi dicono come sbloccarlo.

Uno di quei vecchi giochi che non si dimenticano
Old but gold.... ci avevo giocato quando uscì nel 2002 (non è solo il gioco ad essere vecchio...) e mi ricordo che mi ero divertito molto. Dopo 13 ore, confermo le impressioni di allora. Però deve essere valutata anche l'età del gioco... ha meccaniche vecchie ed è piuttosto "rigido". Però è divertente
Dungeon Siege dropped in 2002, right when Diablo 2 was ruling the ARPG scene, but it feels worlds apart in gameplay. Forget the frantic click-spam of Diablo 2 where every mouse button press swings a weapon or hurls a spell. This one's all about your characters auto-attacking while you babysit the chaos.
The full 3D world looks cool for its era, but the camera is a nightmare. No automation means you're constantly twisting and panning it yourself, which ends up being the main activity. Non-transparent trees block everything, and in dense areas you straight-up lose sight of your party or incoming enemies.
You can recruit up to 8 characters into your squad, which sounds great on paper. I tried going solo to avoid the dumb AI pathing into death traps, but by Chapter 4, it turned into an absolute slog. Then I recruited a few hirelings to speed things up. I settled on 2 archers, 1 mage, and 1 melee tank by the end of the game. Still, the AI makes questionable calls while weaker characters drop like flies to avoidable nonsense.
Mouse keybinds are locked, you can't remap them. Combat gets quite tedious, especially while playing solo. You have to kite one or two foes at a time (or you'll get surrounded by a horde), rinse and repeat hundreds of times. Each zone recycles the same handful of newly introduced enemy types.
There's no skill tree or skill points. You just pick a melee weapon, ranged weapon and/or equip two spells slots if you'll use magic, that's your build. You get better at what you use. Usually, it's better to make 1 character to do 1 thing and excel at it than waste your limited possible XP (enemies don't respawn in this game) in gaining more levels in something you rarely use anyway.
Dungeon Siege itemization is pretty lackluster. Loot is not that fun with incremental upgrade path. You can't drop better items in a zone you're in. Every new area has a tied weapon power and you'll not get a better weapon drop with better base damage than the ones you find in a shop at the start of each area, which makes the ground loot so uninteresting for the most part (especially true with weapons). Item affixes are quite dull and doesn't impact your character that much. You usually want the best base speed and damage combination on your weapon. On armour you usually look for more hp/armour and highest defense possible, that's it. The best affixes are the ones that give you +1 to a certain attribute. Power progression is flatline: new/better weapons hit harder, but new enemies scale defenses/HP too, so you never really feel that much stronger.
Many big chests in the world drop absolutely zero loot.
There are some graphical glitches in chapter 5 (some softlocks too). No ending cutscene, had to watch it on youtube.
Excellent music & ambient sounds (soft, immersive tones). Dungeon Siege has infinite save slots (early 2000s luxury!). Overhead map is a lifesaver for navigation, because of the awful camera which needs constant manual tweaks. Game worked fine for me on win10.
Oh, by the way - bigger inventory mod is a must for this game. Such a great qol to have.
Overall, Dungeon Siege still holds up and is not boring to play through, but the monotony and jank can wear you down in some areas.
Nice trip down memory lane. Took me 40h for one run including exploring all the possible optional areas.
Only sad part is they clearly did a bad job on the mage class scaling. Made my main character a battle mage and still didnt level up far enough to reach needed skill level to be able to use late game spells.

ARPGs don't need to be overly complicated or stressful. Just chill and blast stuff with comical magical bouncy bombs.

Parece que para muchos es un juegazo... Yo diré que no sé si "lo fue", pero no "lo es". Para mí, uno de los juegos que mejores recuerdos me da es el Throne of Agony, que era de PSP y perfectamente jugable con mando. Este está diseñado para teclado y ratón y a mí se me hace muy difícil jugarlo (entre otras cosas porque no tengo ratón; uso panel táctil xD).
Lo he intentado jugar en 2025 y no puedo con él. Además, hoy en día no se ve bien la panorámica/acción, y para hacer cualquier cosa te tienes que tirar explorando un rato.
