I like the company and the games are fun the developers seem nice but I honestly cant endorse this game.

I am having serious issues with Dungeon Rats on Tough Bastard ONLY THE SECOND DIFFICULTY.

Had problems with ants and raged quit after ELDER SCORPION BOSS.

This is another game in a long line that gives enemies and advantage and or they need not follow the same rules as you.

I do not enjoy....

... constantly doing ZERO damage with my 8 strength.
... having my 5-8 damage spear constantly doing 0 to 4 damage.
... ants hitting with all their attacks and putting party member down.
... having an enemy with fewer less than 5 health dodge all attacks so it gets another turn.
... reloading battles because the above issues make battles harder.
... No reason to take Silas an Quintos with you as followers they DIE EVERY COMBAT WITH ANTS .

My mistake was a took spear and have not found a SINGLE UPGRADE.
There are no shops...

When I got to elder scorpion I am on try number 5 now.
I HAVE DONE EXACTLY 0 DAMAGE WITH SPEAR EVEN WITH A STONE. ZERO NIL NOTHING BLANK.

I'm so frustrated yet again because of my choosing a certain weapon cant do any damage to boss.

So in the end Dungeon Rats IS all bout the right spec!
You cant spec something you like.
You have to spec a certain way to beat game.

Making a boss take zero damage from a weapon GAME GIVES ME WITH OUT ANY UPGRADES IS AWFUL DESIGN!!!

I am so frustrated just going to move on to something else.
I am just not enjoying this game like i believed I would.

Fan d'Age of decadence, j'ai longtemps hésité avant d'acheter ce jeu et finalement je ne regrette pas l'achat.
Oui c'est la version presque 100% combat d'Age of décadence, oui c'est punitif, oui c'est dur, oui on recommence les combats au moindre mauvais placement mais l'ambiance reste identique et pour un fan du premier Age of decadence, cela compte beaucoup.
D'ailleurs les choix sont tellement critiques que même lors de la création des statistiques de départ de son héros, le moindre point manquant se fait ressentir inévitablement.
Dungeon Rats est pour les gros joueurs!

关卡设计师一定换过人，要不然就是他全家活暗暗了，在之后关卡报复社会。

这游戏交战时不能吃药回血，脱战后也不能自动回血。

本来也没什么，第一个大关卡，遗骸身上有血药，人类敌人身上有血药，动物敌人附近有草药可以采摘。

但是到了第二个大关卡，地下暗河，司马设计师本性初露，喜欢我三连战没有退路且没有血药嘛？

到了第三个关卡更司马，占领基地，箱子里没血药，人类敌人没血药，动物敌人附近没草药，你能做的就是打败活体植物，从它身上爆。

我就搞不懂，你一个交战时不能回血的游戏，把脱战后回血手段弄得这么匮乏是日你吗啊，除了故意恶心人有什么用。

对了，这游戏基地没人卖血药，也不会自动刷新。

还有炼金术师敌人，开局三个炸弹，高贵的范围伤害无法防御、无法躲避，只能分散开硬抗，脑子一定屎塞多了才会做这种敌人，而且还是前期。

地牢鼠辈、颓废年代和underrail可以说都是受辐射影响很深的游戏，然而同宗同派出来的，只谈战斗，ur除了难度曲线比较不合理以外，战斗这块的趣味和bd丰富度完全把地牢鼠辈和颓废年代爆烂了。这游戏在去掉了perk的基础上继承了老辐射遭人诟病的战斗系统，本身这个互抡王八拳的系统上限就极低，完全专注于战斗的游戏内容还把颓废年代的优点完全舍弃了，每场战斗给人的感觉就像从旱厕的屎里把蛆一条条拎出来放碗里当粉嗦，极度的恶心不适，有这点时间不如去玩铁血联盟和xcom，战场兄弟也行，吃点真正好的吧。

My God, this game. This is what I imagine Final Fantasy would be if Square Enix had continued using turn based combat. The combat seems like the natural evolution of what modern turn based should be, it's absolutely god-tier.

If I had to describe what this game is like, I'd say it's a faithful combination of the following games:

- Classic Final Fantasy
- Persona
- Legend of Dragoon
- Sea of Stars
- Metaphor ReFantazio
- Etc

If you like any of those, you'll love this, and if you don't like turn based combat for some reason, try this anyway, because it's the most engaging turn based system I've maybe ever seen.

The visuals are GODLY, the music is DIVINE, the characters and voice acting is all top tier, and the story/world building will blow your mind.

10/10 - Exactly what I wanted !

В этой игре ваш персонаж и его спутники будут часто умирать.

A spin-off from the Age of Decadence game that focuses more on combat rather than roleplay, but that is alright since the combat system while not "special", is very competently made and is entertaining to engage with. If one enjoyed fights in Age of Decadence, this is just more of that with maybe some extra lore tibbids here and there.

I will offer up a criticism of this game and that is that constructs are very underwhelming. You get them very late in the game and while they are strong in specific niches, they also feel very vulnerable without the player having the ability to strenghten them. The minotaur was especially dissapointing for me since i could not equip weapons on it, even the same ones of better quality. While the spider droid felt like it was too fragile to do anything with.

If you liked AoD you will like this though it does strip back some of the non-combat mechanics in favor of having a party and more in-depth fights. You get to have companions this go around, they aren't as fleshed out as the companions in even BG1 but the world is more interesting than most D&D settings so what little is there is cool.

In short it was fun for what it was there was not many options other than fight more options would have been nice and some more to do after you escape if your able to would be cool I like the fact if one of your party members die then there gone that adds some realistic elements to the game I like over all it was a good time and I think more people should give it a go.

It's okay, but I can't see myself playing it any more after the 10 hrs I put in.

The UI is not good -- inventory management and in-combat functionality are worse than most games from the mid-90s.

I was playing on normal difficulty and got pretty far into raiding the people with the ore up top, and decided to try out a couple characters one difficulty lower. The "25% reduced enemy hit chance" seems inaccurate. I've been keeping track and they appear to have the exact same chance to hit as on the harder difficulty. I have, in fact, died more on "easy" than on "normal." It either doesn't work how it is presented, or the % rolls simply aren't accurate in any way--which may be the case because the amount of times I miss on a 95% chance to hit is absolutely insane.

To simplify the premise real quick: you gotta fight your way out of a prison mine. I've always yearned for prison plots. Movies like Lock Up, The Shawshank Redemption, Bronson, Brawl in Cell Block 99, and Fortress are irresistible to me. Some of my favourite places in gaming are prisons and camps. Say, the ones in The Suffering or Silent Hill 2, obvious Gothic, etc. I love them for the inherent intensity of the predicament and the grime. Maybe it's a pathology since my teachers used to tell me that's where I'd end up, so I subconsciously prepared myself for it? Whatever. Dungeon Rats fits the bill, is all! There's more to it than that, of course. Stellar turn-based tactics are hard to come by. But before we begin, maybe check out my [url=https://steamcommunity.com/id/magerama/recommended/230070]The Age of Decadence[/url] or [url=https://steamcommunity.com/id/magerama/recommended/648410?snr=1_5_9__402]Colony Ship[/url] reviews for more information about the local unforgiving combat and progression systems. In short, positioning is still king, you can aim for enemy limbs and, atypically for this genre, consumables matter. You can't leave those for a rainy day when it pours acid all the time. Except ignore what I say about factions and such. The game is streamlined compared to its fully-fledged CRPG brethren, being a violent dungeon-crawling spin-off in the vein of Icewind Dale or Fallout Tactics. The drop of writing portraying a scumfest of spicy personalities is still solid, but the social elements mostly boil down to your body count.

The biggest change and the source of your agency since AoD was the ability to have up to 4 gang members. Or none, depending on your goals and charisma. Numbers don't make things easier with the game's habit to put you at a monstrous disadvantage. Yeah, Dungeon Rats can make you grind your teeth to dust. It took me 3 restarts (it's a 12-hour game) to yield and switch to Tough Bastard, the "normal" difficulty. My only regret is that I was too proud to dial it all the way down. Every encounter shall test your mind, your patience, and your knowledge of the game. Every enemy is a super-hero with over-tuned stats, able to kill your party member in a couple of critical hits. The difficulty escalates relentlessly - there's no breathing room, no relief. Normally, you begin a battle and think "how am I supposed to survive!?", but there are also times when you think "hey, it doesn't look so bad!" - just to choke on an army of reinforcements 2 turns later. And do you think Rats would reward you appropriately? You'll often be at a net loss, winning a hard battle by the skin of your teeth to get a pittance of rations for half a heal and barely enough materials for repairs. That said, when the game decides to spoil you, the riches seem ten times shinier.

Just don't expect much charity, this cruel mistress won't kneel. It's minmax or bust. The game was designed to be studied, mastered, exploited - not to simply be beaten. It allows you to softlock yourself if you aren't careful. And you can't possibly be too careful here. Again, it took me 3 whole restarts to sort of get it right, to weasel my way through it... as intended. And I still can't say I know how to play Dungeon Rats, having no expertise to share with you. Maybe you'll bump into what works for you in no time, the options are plenty. Or maybe you won't. It's a safe bet to say you'll hate this game's guts is what I'm saying. But hey, none of Iron Tower's gems are for everyone. On the bright side, there's always a chance you're in the niche with us happy few. Don't knock it until you try it. To put it out there: I'm not a good theory crafter. I'm sure plenty of people had an easier time cracking this nut. To me, it was a painful ordeal. That's why I recommend it, though! If a fool like myself could bear it, you could bear it. I had to use every trick in the book, replayed most battles many times, abused crafting and alchemy to the full extent, even threw non-vital characters under the bus, using them as bait to live another day. It's only lore-friendly.

I had to learn the hard way that this game expects me to see the future and make only the right choices. It doesn't seem fair, right? Well, I lived to tell the tale without using a guide! Besides, I really enjoyed how this game twisted my hand, forcing me to make hard decisions and invent unconventional approaches I wouldn't bother with otherwise. A hardcore tactical game that encourages you to think up clever strategies in order to outplay it? God forbid. If them trials and tribulations sound appealing to you, then you'll soon find that below all that scornful turmoil lies an immense treasury of high-grade satisfaction, which can only be granted through blood and tears. Albeit, in case you still find all of that too overwhelming, try Age of Decadence or Colony Ship first. Less focused on combat, those at least give you a breather now and again. Either one is a better entry point than this embrasure. But I think half of you here already got the taste for Iron Tower's unique blend of RPG, trying to decide whether you desire to solve another puzzle of suffering. Just do it. Took me long enough and it was well worth the effort! Now, let's hope I managed to nudge you towards giving Dungeon Rats a go while setting your expectations accordingly.

Feels like an experiment "can we make a dungeon crawler with Age of Decadence's combat and assets?" And the answer is yes, although it doesn't come close to classics like Icewind Dale. The AOD system translates pretty well to party combat and extended dungeons, although I'd rather they use these lessons to flesh out future RPGs instead of making more dungeon crawlers.

Writing is limited but what's there is good. There's a good sense of tension throughout and (like AOD) it nails their gritty Roman low fantasy style.

My only gripes are it's a bit short and not very replayable (since companions are met in a fixed linear order and nothing else really changes). It can also be easy to softlock due to the rations system meaning you can scrape through several fights but fall behind on healing supplies with no way to get more. It's not a deal breaker, just keep lots of saves. (Or if you really don't want to use the rations system, you could just use CheatHP() between fights.)

Si Dungeon Rats ressemble davantage à un essai visant à tester des mécaniques, il réussit parfaitement ce pour quoi il a été conçu : mettre en avant et perfectionner son système de combat, à un degré rarement atteint dans les jeux du même type.

Le concept est simple. Vous êtes un esclave (au haut potentiel) jeté au fond d'une mine, et qui va ensuite chercher à s'évader. Le joueur dispose de caractéristiques nombreuses lui permettant de développer son avatar, bien plus que dans la plupart des RPG, et l'on peut parfois rester un moment à choisir...
Si les dialogues ne sont pas au coeur du projet, on est souvent surpris par leur qualité et la pertinence des réactions des PNJ. Les choix proposés sont cohérents, logiques du point de vue de l'univers et leurs conséquences peuvent être anticipées avec un peu de réflexion ; ce qui fait du bien et nous change des sempiternels dilemmes moraux qui relèvent parfois plus de l'absurde. Il y a aussi des tests de charisme et de persuasion..! Rares, mais toujours bienvenus.
Cependant, il faut garder à l'esprit que l'histoire ici n'a qu'un but : confronter le joueur à différents scénarios de combat, d'embuscades et d'escarmouches. Et le pari est réussi.

Les arènes sont bien pensées et construites, les ennemis sont réactifs, vicieux, et chercheront toujours à faire tomber le maillon faible de votre équipe. Ils utiliseront des bombes, du poison, des filets, chercheront à vous prendre en tenaille... L'IA est agressive et n'a aucune pitié.
Très vite, on se prend à calculer les déplacements, vérifier régulièrement les points d'action, la portée des armes (une lance attaque sur deux cases), switcher entre différents types d'attaque (puissant, rapide, large, points vitaux...) et cibler différentes parties du corps en fonction du type d'ennemi. Le bourreau équipé d'un marteau à deux mains lâchera son arme si l'un de ses bras a été mutilé, ou peinera à vous approcher si ses jambes sont en mauvais état.

Tout a été pensé pour offrir aux joueurs une expérience martiale rare de finesse et de précision. Le jeu est très difficile, mais se montre gratifiant et a été fait par des passionnés. C'est un véritable ovni sur Steam.
À essayer et savourer en faisant abstraction des graphismes vieillissants.

Dungeon Rats dzieli uniwersum, silnik, interfejs oraz mechanikę walki z Age of Decadence. Zabrakło jedynie złożonych dialogów i questów, ale zapewne takie były założenia by zrobić dungeon crawlera. AoD można przejść nie walcząc, więc być może twórcy specjalnie zrealizowali grę skupioną wyłącznie na walce, a przy okazji wpadło nieco grosza z pobocznego projektu.

Zaczyna się intrygująco, bo trafiamy do podziemnego więzienia, a właściwie kopalni. Musząc sobie poradzić w więziennych warunkach szybko uczymy się wywalczyć swoje racje siłą. Fabułę jak praktycznie w każdym dungeon crawlerze można opisać jednym zdaniem: przebijaj się przez loch aż dotrzesz do końca.

Turowa walka przypomina tą z Falloutów. Nawet interfejs jest podobny. Mamy punkty akcji, siatkę złożoną z kwadratów. Podobnie jak w takim The Banner Saga ważne jest również to jak ustawimy członków drużyny przed walką. Logiczne jest, że typowych wojowników ustawiamy z przodu, a łuczników czy kuszników z tyłu. Wszystko zależy również od terenu na którym walczymy. Gra jest złożona pod względem mechaniki, sporo jest tutaj erpegowych przeliczników, mnożników, szans na trafienie. Walka daje satysfakcję, ale bywa ciężka, niekiedy frustrująca. Zacząłem na Twardzielu i po kilku godzinach utknąłem na jakichś skorpionach czy innych mrówach. Porzuciłem grę na kilka lat, a gdy powróciłem zacząłem od nowa tym razem na najniższym poziomie trudności. Nawet na nim musiałem się poddać i zwyczajnie odpuścić. Ciężko o jakąkolwiek taktykę jeśli przeciwnicy rzucają bombami rozwalając moją drużynę. Za dużo jest gier by chciało mi się podchodzić do każdej walki po kilkanaście razy aż wirtualne kości potoczą się odpowiednio.

Nie jest to produkcja którą poleciłbym każdemu. To po prostu zestaw turowych potyczek. Fabuły tutaj tyle co kot napłakał. Jeśli komuś nie zależy na fabule, ale lubi turową walkę np. tą z Falloutów albo chce poczuć nieco przedsmak mechaniki Age o Decadence (w tym wypadku można Dungeon Rats potraktować jako rozbudowany samouczek walki i mechaniki z nią związaną) to może zagrać. Oczywiście ten tytuł nie zniechęcił mnie do AoD, wręcz przeciwnie. Tam postaram się grać unikającym walki dyplomatą.

Well, this part of the game sucks pretty bad. Its just a straight number of battles, not much of a plot here and other interesting interactions are for those who have plage Age of Decadance deep into lore.
Can't recomend it, unless you are a fan of series... too bad developers probably just dumpted it to earn some money and nothing more.

I enjoy Dungeon Rats so Much thanks to having low expectation and being a fan of the turn based tactical battle genere. It didn't matter to me that the plot of the game was simply about a man leading a group of prisoners to escape prison I like the simplicity of the story. It does not take much to motivate me to play any Turn Based Tactical RPG Game that is for sure
I read the review for this game before playing it and most of the negative reviews talk about how this game scope is so much smaller compare to Age Of Decadence. I mean come on guys they had like 6 months to make this game instead of years like they did Age Of Decadence so I come into the game knowing the backstory behind the game development and so my expectation was set low compare to other who played Age Of Decadence First then Dungeon Rats 2nd.

Can't wait to play Age Of Decadence after this!

劇情中我們扮演的是剛被丟入羅馬死牢的囚犯，本應該要採礦至死的主角決定聯合其他囚犯一同推翻地牢裡的管理層並一路向上，擊敗沿途的其他囚犯、幫派分子、怪物與羅馬守衛，最終嘗試逃出地牢監獄，故事與題材源自於前作《The Age of Decadence》的相關設定，就連怪物、機械人與外星人設計也是，是的，本作不是一款歷史向作品，而是有一定的架空與奇幻要素。

玩法上遊戲是傳統的回合制戰棋，不同的地方是遭遇敵人位置、敵人數量與種類、敵人會掉落的物品、場景會撿拾到的裝備道具，這些全部都是固定的，遊戲內唯一的隨機性只有「命中率」與「暴擊率」，因此本作不是享受故事選擇、探索遭遇的玩法，更多的是讓玩家想辦法用有限的資源擊敗敵人，掠奪敵人物品後繼續挑戰下一批敵人，所以本作的「煉金」與「製作」功能極為重要，不搞懂這兩個項目幾乎破不了關～

遊戲蠻老的，但在發現它更新簡體中文後，就立刻打開來體驗一番，花了20小時破關，會建議想體驗的玩家都從簡單難度先玩起，因為本作是真很難～我本來還打算打鐵人模式拿成就，結果本作的鐵人不是只有一個存檔，而是死了就失效（不能讀檔重新打），在失敗幾次後就放棄了，真的要挑戰鐵人會需要先破關一次並熟記資源位置與幾場關鍵戰的敵人配置來好好規劃才有機會，如果喜歡回合制戰棋且能享受高難度的設計，這是值得一玩的小品。

角色属性加点完成后，在游戏中不能更改。虽然在建新档时，游戏跟玩家打过招呼了。但第一次玩，我就不清楚哪些技能点是相对重要的，又有哪些武器是更适合自己操作的。如果在第一张地图给一个“洗点”的地方，我认为游戏将更人性化一些。
我就是玩了2小时发现自己巧妙的避开了重要的属性和技能，除了开新档，别无他法。有中文，还是给个好评吧。

[h1] Should've spend 20 months at this game instead of 10. [/h1]

[i] The combat-only AoD noticeably improved the fights: you're getting bonuses from flanking and players can place their characters as they want to. Also, you now can't craft metal armor and weapons in a middle of nowhere without proper forge. The writing is still awesome and I liked the constant references to AoD and its lore.

But why I gave Dungeon Rats a negative review after 3 full playthroughs on Murderous Psychopath and even some YouTube videos? Let's take a closer look, shall we? [/i]

1) Nearly all fights in Dungeon Rats have the same pattern: You're walking in an underground tunnel/cave, and suddenly your screen turns black. After that, you see the hostile convicts/mutated insects/constructs/etc who spawns from nowhere. There's no perception or critical strike checks in dialogues, so you can't start fights with the additional advantage. You always have only one option - attack.

And unlike in AoD, you can't see your enemies before the fight and your can't retreat to come back later. And yeah, sometimes game spawns the enemies just behind you (Examples: Reinard's alchemist or one of the four Black Centipedes)

2) The Healing Machine can't increase stats for your companions for whatever reason, only your main characters benefits from this. You can't make Roxana more durable or make Marcus or Yngvar stronger than they already are, only yourself.

3) Blatant example of carelessness: Your characters can start the fight with Democritus or with convicts before that. You can retreat back to the place where you can recruit Yngvar, craft items and take back your dismissed companions who are waiting for you. And guess what? [b] NOBODY GIVES A DAMN ABOUT THAT! [/b]

They're all (convicts and even your dismissed companions) just stanging/sitting, itching and smoking whatever they smoke!

4) I've tried to play solo, but I've stopped it once I've realised that the only working tactics here is to retreat to a place where only one enemy can attack your PC per turn. And for the same reason one-handed spears are better than any other melee, because you can attack diagonally (yeah, just like those annoying ants)

5) There are way too many healing rations. I've had 300+ rations after reaching the surface.

6) Throwing weapons are way too OP thanks to its passive effect. With high TW skill and crafted weapons, you can ingore DR with 80+% chance of success. It doesn't matter what kind of armor is that: leather armor, manica, lorica segmetata, imperial heavy armor - poisoned throwing daggers go BRRRR. There's no additional formulas or decreases the likelihood of success for medium or heavy armors.
For the same reason at least half of those legionnaries from last battle should have antidote, so you couldn't cheese this fight with potent poisons.

7) There are too few really memorable battles, like the one with Emperor or against the Centurion and his little army.

I know that Vince said many times that he and his team "put DR together in 10 months, advertised it as a 50-fight combat-only game", but sometimes it sounds a little like an excuse.

I cannot say that this game is bad (I had some fun with Dungeon Rats), but the cons outweigh the pros. I'm really hope that your next game, Heralds of the Third Apocalypse, would be much better than this. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, good luck!

Несмотря на простую основу сюжета, игра содержит несколько интересных моментов, неожиданных поворотов и нюансов, которые делают её чуть более насыщенной. Dungeon Rats заполняет этот пробел, делая игру более динамичной и насыщенной за счёт командных боёв. Выбор спутников влияет на развитие сюжета: каждый из них обладает своими особенностями и может открывать новые варианты прохождения.

Графика в Dungeon Rats выглядит устаревшей даже для 2016 года, но она и не является важной составляющей игры. Музыка и звуковые эффекты вполне хороши и создают подходящую атмосферу.

This isn't for me.

It's slow, there's no indication on where to go unless you read a lot of text, though the half hour I played it was fairly linear but I could see it getting annoying.

It's way too complicated and battles are slow and require way too much clicking to ever be considered fun. Also doesn't help that the enemies dodge a lot. I also hate when games force you to put points into stats before you even start the game when you don't know what you want to do or how the game is even played.

Even looting and moving around loot is overly complex and annoying.

The default difficulty proudly claims you will die a lot. I'm impatient and have better things to do than spend hours on one fight, so I picked the easiest difficulty. and breezed through 3 fights that were still long and tedious, and also not fun at all, and then I fought some ants that annihilated me for whatever reason.

I don't know what I could do differently, and found I didn't care in the slightest. Granted I was already disinterested by that point and was only half-paying attention and just clicking on the enemies to attack, cuz it's all so cumbersome and dull.

If you like slow, complicated, strategic-let-me-think-how-I-have-to-kill-every-little-thing games, then honestly, this isn't too bad probably.

Per chi ha giocato Age of Decadence (no? Fatelo) evitando tutti i combattimenti, Dungeon Rats compensa ampiamente l’esperienza persa.
É un gioco duro ma in cui si può variare molto l’approccio al combattimento, attraverso la creazione del personaggio.
Il sistema é solido, molto simile al primo Fallout ma più complesso.
Si possono reclutare alleati, costruire o disassemblare armi e, con le caratteristiche giuste, sbloccare alcune soluzioni più favorevoli.
Certo, se vi aspettate una gioia per gli occhi, no, non si tratta di questo.
Le recensioni negative riguardano per lo più la difficoltà: il gioco ti guida poco e potresti arrivare al punto di non ritorno per aver mal gestito le risorse.
A mio parere, é giusto così, é una sfida di strategia e tattica.

Обожаю игры такого жанра, где сначала час читаешь, а остальное время чиллишь и режешь всех, прокачивая себя и команду. Прошел за 5 часов ее 2 раза. Не пожалел ни разу вложенных шекелей.

1) Хоть и много текста, но читается на удивление легко. По сравнению с первой частью, где тебя обучали и обучали, тут все лайтово.
2) Легкая боевая система, но сложные враги. Придется подумать.
3) Много видов оружия и способов убить врагов.
4) Много концовок.
5) Есть русский язык.
6) Приятная прокачка. Хоть по мне и немного замудренная.
7) Приятная цена. И хорошая реиграбельность.

1) Очень короткий лейтгейм.

8\10, хотелось бы подольше походить в топовой снаряге. Со скидосом точно нужно брать, если любите думать над каждым ходом и расстановкой по позициям.

Когда-то я купил The Age of Decadence о чём "похвастался" в ВК. На что был чуть ли не один ответ - "игра крута, но не забудь и про Dungeon Rats, тоже круто", взял и её. Ииииии что-то у меня тогда "не пошли" игры, если "век" я ещё пытался несколько раз пройти, то эту игру скипнул после первого же боя. А это был 2018й год... Но вот я вернулся вновь и вполне бодро прошёл, с чем себя и поздравляю)

[b]Графика[/b]
Редко когда я смотрю на неё в играх и по сути делю на три категории: красивая, обычная и старая. Но именно эта игра меня графикой "напугала" в тот первый заход. Персонажи типа картошки в "смутных" кишках пещер. Пффф, причём графика мне показалось именно плохой, будто целенаправленно, но неудачно, косящей под старую. Но сейчас я вернулся и вполне нормально, ничего страшного в целом будто бы нет, видимо замылился взгляд за кучу старых игр. Ну, в плане местности графика норм, с персонажами всё плохо так и осталось, особенно женскими, где определяешь их только по имени в лучшем случае, ну и при создании, там пол подписан. При этом анимации вполне неплохи бывают, например различные добивания по типам оружия. Но всё равно странно игра выглядит, будто эхо девяностых. Гораздо более старые игры выглядят куда лучше.

[b]Сложность[/b]
Честно, заклинаю вас, но все вкачивайте "восприятие", а потом уже остальное под себя. Эта стата отвечает за меткость. Просто начал я и первый бой, мой перс и три противника, так 99% моих атак просто не попадали в цель, их же может процентов по 70 там, в итоге я эту воскресную схватку четырёх йокудзун просто запарился наблюдать - промах, промах, промах, промах. При том что каждый перс (в том числе и мой) наносили по 4 удара за ход и всё шло в молоко. После чего пришлось начать заново иным персом.
Остальная же сложность исходила только из-за серьёзного поджима в ресах, поэтому приходилось играть от постоянных сейвов/загрузок. Ибо лучше при неудачном ранении загрузиться в надежде на иной рандом, чем потом не вылечить перса, ибо просто нечем.

[b]Масштабы[/b]
Игра на самом деле очень маленькая, это, по своей сути, должно было быть длс на тему побега из тюрьмы. Буквально длс про доп. квест этакий. Но нет. В итоге у нас четыре этажа и поверхность, где более менее большой только второй снизу, остальное уровня две комнаты и коридор между ними. Игру наверное можно пробежать за час, если бы это было что-то типа дяблоида. Т.е. игра набивает вам время своей пошаговостью и сложностью.
Но при этом разрабы перекинули всё что было в базовой игре и сюда: оружие, броня, ресы, расходники и т.д. Можно предположить, что в игре видов оружия или брони по кол-ву как врагов буквально, если не больше, но зачем? Типа реально не лень менять свой меч после каждой пачки из пяти мобов? И не только себе, но ещё и 9 напарникам. Мне вот было лень, возня с этим всем подбешивала. А ведь тут ещё и лут всякий, ремёсла, крафт и т.п. Короче всё выглядит какой-то утрамбованной кастрюлей каши в чайной ложке. Причём из-за этого "мешающей" лору, типа тюрьма вроде как, а арсенала так на целый легион, причём не палок и заточек каких-нибудь, а полноценное всё, вплоть до уровня преторианской гвардии.

[b]Плюсы?[/b]
Я бы не сказал, что они есть. По сути все плюсы этой игры исходят из базы. "Ценность" игры только в том, что она (очень) немного раскрывает информации о мире. Больше ничего она не даёт. Плохо ли это? Ну, для длс или аддона - нет, а раз я её так и воспринимаю, то меня устраивает.

[b]Иные "промахи":[/b]
- В игре есть слот для амулетов. Но самих амулетов нет.
- Находим какую-то машину, нужно что-то для неё. Но вроде как этого нет просто.
- Нагоняется всякое про "императора" и юзаемый им "интерфейс", но в итоге молча скипается будто ничего и нет.
- Ресурсов хватает примерно ни на что даже для одного перса, своего, а ещё ведь девять напарников. Это я про голубую и небесную сталь в частности. Хотя и остальных видов металла будет хоть сколько-то только если разбирать всё.

P.S. В игре оказывается "эротика" есть. Вот я удивился конечно. Почти закончил второе прохождение, два боя осталось буквально. Решил приодеть персов, в том числе Роксану, единственную нпс-мадаму на всю игру. Снимаю её броню и глаза лезут на лоб. После этого быстро снимаю броню и со своей "персонажки" (на втором прохождении тоже взял мамзель для разнообразия), ну, здешние дамы не признают "верха" у белья. Это реально самое неожиданное, что я видел за всю игру. Ни сюжетные/лорные моменты, ни враги, ни боевые ситуации и т.д., да что угодно меня удивило бы меньше чем это. И оно поди и в "Веке" так?

[b]Итого[/b] - как длс пойдёт. Как часть игрового мира - тоже. Больше я за игрой ничего не прочувствовал.

Сложная, но очень интересная и захватывающая, тактика. При первом прохождении основная масса стычек будет начинаться с мысли - "это невозможно пройти" и каждый раз, побеждая в такой стычке, чувствуешь удовлетворение как игрок. Очень рекомендую. Единственный минус - что я обнаружил игру в библиотеке очень поздно (она досталась мне бесплатно как владельцу Age of Decadance).

Nakonec jsem došel až k finální bitvě, abych to neopustil po pár hodinách. Ale je to šílená nuda. Neskutečně dlouhé souboje, ve kterých se málokdy kdokoliv trefí. Protože jste závislí na materiálu a také výrobcích od nepřátel, vždy jsou technologicky výrazně napřed. Robot nejde opravovat ("léčit"), netuším proč. Jako společníka ho můžete po pár bitvách vyhodit. I na nejnižší obtížnost naprosto zbytečně těžké souboje, které snad ani nejde vyhrát (viz bitva proti třem mechům u stroje na vylepšování statistik v paláci). Mezi jednotlivými fázemi boje se nelze nijak léčit. Při téhle hře budete opravdu dost nadávat...

難易度が高い戦闘特化のストラテジーゲーム

戦闘だけしていたいので自分の好みと思い購入しました。
ただ、自分には合いませんでした。
難易度が高い為にやり直しをして試行錯誤しないといけないゲームです。
難易度の高さ自体は良いとして、問題は、UI が洗練されていないのでいちいち余計な手間が掛かってしまう事です。
苦痛に耐えないと面白くないので、それを耐えられるかどうかで評価が分かれると思います。
学生の頃に買っていたら、これでも楽しめたとは思います。

# 難易度

難易度は、3 段階です。
更にソロモードとアイアンマンモードあります。
ストラテジーなのにソロは何も面白くないと思ってしまいますが。

全般的に難しく考えて戦わないとなかなかクリア出来ないです。
同じ戦闘でも配置や戦い方を工夫すると結果が大きく変わり面白いです。

資源は、経験値を含めて有限です。
そのため、レベルを上げれば簡単になるなどは無いです。
回復アイテムも不足しがちです。
どんなに工夫してもダメージを受けてしまう状況も多く、回復アイテムが全然足りないのはどうかなと思いました。
戦闘毎に 2 戦ぐらいやり直しをして、被害が少ない方で進めるぐらいでないと回復アイテムが枯渇するぐらいの感じです。
ちょっと多めに被弾したから戦闘をやり直すなんてことはしたくないので、もう少し回復しやすければ良かったと思いました。

# 戦闘システム

行動には AP が必要で、AP はキャラクターの Dex に依存します。
移動は、2AP 必要です。
更に攻撃は、Fast, Regular, Power などに分かれており AP 消費量・命中率・威力が変わります。
また、Aimed Head, Aimed Torso, Aimed Legs, Aimed Arms など部位を狙った攻撃も出来、相手にデバフを掛けられます。
このシステム自体は面白いと思いますが、操作性の悪さが足を引っ張っています。
そして一部のデバフは、画面に表示されないので効いているのかも分かりません...

Fast, Regular, Power の切り替えはショートカットキーが設定されているので楽に行えます。
それ以外を選択する場合は、
右クリックでメニューを表示する -> 目的の攻撃に切り替え
もしくは、複数回クリックして切り替える。
が必要になります。
何回も選択しなければいけない攻撃で、メニューを開かなければいけないこと自体が面倒です。
さらに文字が小さく選択しづらいのが苦痛です。

命中率は、全体的に低めです。
ただ、命中率重視の攻撃は、AP 次第で複数回攻撃できるので悪くないシステムだと思います。

槍など、装備している武器に依っては斜めマスへの攻撃が可能です。
仲間が複数いる場合は、槍などを混ぜておいた方が楽に進められます。

弓などの遠距離武器は、矢弾が必要です。
ただ、直ぐに矢が尽きたので使う気になりませんでした。

向きの概念もあるらしく囲んだりした方が命中率が高くなるようです。
そのため、結構初期配置が重要で試行錯誤する必要があります。

敵に隣接している時に移動すると機会攻撃を受ける可能性があります。

移動の取り消しは、出来ません。

サブ武器を装備できます。
武器を切り替える場合は、該当武器をクリックして攻撃します。
切り替え自体は、楽です。
しかし、メイン武器で攻撃したかったのに間違って前回使ったサブ武器で攻撃してしまうミスを良くしてしまいました。
移動の取り消しを含めて誤操作防止や、それをした時のやり直しが出来るようにして欲しかったです。

# カメラ

視点を自分で変えられるゲームですが、この操作もしっくりと来ませんでした。
カメラの回転速度をオプションで変えられるのですが、その設定はマウス操作のみ適応されて、キーボードには適応されません。
キーボードで操作したい身としては、回転速度が速すぎて視点を合わせるのに余計な手間が掛かって苦痛です。
上下の角度の制限がきつく自分の好みの角度に出来ないのも不満です。
また、一部地形では、カメラが地形に引っかかり思い通りの位置に設定できない事もあります。

# 能力値

Strength: ダメージボーナス・Block
Dexterity: AP 量・Dodge
Constitution: HP・状態異常の抵抗率・Defense Rating
Perception: 命中率
Intelligence: スキルポイントの量
Charisma: 連れ歩ける仲間の数

Intelligence が多いとスキルポイントが多く貰えるのは好きです。

Dexterity で AP 量が決まります。
AP が 10 ぐらいないとやってられないのでちょっと初期 AP が少なすぎると思います。

Charisma は、多いと仲間を多く連れていけます。
ただ、主人公以外に意味がないので、全ての味方にこのパラメータを用意する必要があったのか疑問に思います。

装備している武器種ごとに Str、Dex、Per のどれが重要か決まります。

# 成長

キャラクターにレベルは無く、能力値が成長する事はありません。
レベルアップがあるストラテジーは、ユニットが強くなりすぎて簡単になりつまらなくなる事があるので、成長に制限があるのは好みです。

その代わり、戦闘で経験を積ませるとスキルポイントが貰えて、それをスキルに割り振る事で成長させます。
スキルの選択肢は、複数用意されています。
ただ、このゲームの場合、1 つの武器と 1 つの防御スキルに特化させる以外に最適解はないようなので面白くないです。

防御スキルは、Dodge と Block の 2 つがあるのですが、両方に割り振っても効果が無いようで 1 つに割り振るしかありません。
武器は、例えば Axe に振ると Hammer にもシナジーボーナスが入るのですが、ただでさえ命中率が低いのに複数に振ってポイントを無駄にしたいとは思いません。
まあ、シナジーがある 2 つぐらいに振るのが一番効率が良さそうですが。

生産も Crafting と Alchemy があるのですが、パーティー内で一番高いキャラクターの値のみ使用されるので、特定のキャラしか割り振りません。
パーティーの合計値が使われるとかだったら複数キャラに割り振ったりしたのですが。
また、レベルが低いと効率が悪いので低レベルの時にアイテムを使うのを躊躇してしまいます。
この仕様も自分には合いませんでした。

It's a very fun game. Basically you are at the bottom of a dungeon and try to go up :) I liked the turn based combat. It's very similar to the Age of Decadance (it is in the same world anyway). However there isn't much story. Just entertaining encounters. So if you want a quick fix on turn based challenging combat, i think it's a game you should try.

A warning though, it's not an easy game so be ready to die from time to time. It's definitely not a Souls like, however you need to plan your character's build othwerise fight become too challenging.

9 out of 10 people you pick off the street and ask to play this game will be repulsed, but for a few, it's manna from Heaven.

Dungeon Rats is a game for people who really, really like Age of Decadence's implementation of combat. It's a game for the minority of players whose favorite part of AoD was its combat and who don't care much about narrative. AoD itself is quite a niche game appealing to an audience that enjoys a systems-heavy, RNG-reliant role-playing game that takes that genre title exceptionally seriously.

Both games suffer from the same issues-- one of the biggest of which is a stat screen that does a poor job of displaying the effects of each attribute and skill. You're going to want to read a guide that explains the math going on behind the scenes. Certainly, you don't have to have played Age of Decadence to enjoy Dungeon Rats. But, I assume most people playing it have already gotten their fill of AoD fights.

Just know what you're getting into. Either master the game's systems, learning what works and what doesn't, or be willing to reload and repeat fights ad nauseam, until the dice roll your way.

This plays like the screen shots show. I do OK but I get defeated by the $#@X! red ants.
Experienced players might know how to kill those buggers but I sure don't.
Not a good game for klutzes like me but a lot of fun for better players.

It's good, but turns out to be a game of long-term attrition management (rations). This means that even when you win fights, you have silently lost them due to taking too much damage, and thus running out of rations 5-6 fights down the road. This aspect of the game's design is frustrating. Here's the fix btw: Console comand: dlgadditem(10503,1000) . However, the game is well worth playing for the experience for a number of hours. Recommended.

Я капитан Шепард и это самая сложная игра на Цитадели!

[h1] Геймплей [/h1]

Он сильно затягивает. Заточена игра на бои, и они здесь — моё почтение. Это неудивительно, ведь боевая система проработана на высшем уровне. Сражения разнообразны и увлекательны: множество видов врагов, брони, оружия, атак и вспомогательных материалов (яд, кислота, жидкий огонь, бомбы, стимуляторы и другое) дают простор для тактической фантазии. Между схватками динамику удачно разбавляют небольшие диалоги и текстовые вставки.
Играл на высокой сложности одиночкой и понял, что эта игра не прощает ошибок. Нельзя быть расточительным в боевых ресурсах, особенно в бомбах. Невозможно пройти и игру с кривым билдом — я два прохождения заруинил.
Грамотная тактика — залог успеха. Даже правильная расстановка перед боем сильно упрощает задачу. Занимательно пробовать разные стратегии. Каждая победа тут приносит настоящее удовлетворение и радость. Радость, что ты ещё не сдох, так как выжить временами крайне сложно.
В игре присутствует крафт, который ощущается не только полезным, но порой и жизненно необходимым. Все рецепты снаряжения копируются с уже готового — такое нововведение мне по душе.
Почти все мирные навыки из первой игры здесь убраны. Проверки характеристик по пальцам можно пересчитать. Вместо торговли теперь всё нужное можно просто найти или добыть в сражениях (Наибольшие ништяки ждут после победы в побочных боях. В каком же я был восторге от таких находок!) Не могу назвать эти изменения недостатком — всё-таки эта игра другого плана.
От партийности игры мне ни холодно ни жарко. Намного больше понравилось проходить в соло.

[h1] Сюжет [/h1]

Его тут самая малость, но тем не менее он интересен. Подниматься по лестнице тюремной иерархии, чтоб заслужить себе свободу, было классно. Отдельные диалоги даже вызывали улыбку. Порадовали отсылки на Age of Decadence. Намного приятней будет играть в игру после прохождения “Века упадка”, что вам и советую.
Вариативности, как в оригинале, здесь нет, лишь несколько необязательных боёв. Но! Концовок аж четыре, что стало приятным сюрпризом!

Она отстаёт от своего времени и выглядит блекло. Но кому какое дело, когда по остальным критериям игра не высоте? Про портреты могу сказать только хорошее — они действительно приятны глазу.

Музыка звёзд с неба не хватает, не изобилует разнообразием, но всё ж достаточно неплоха и придаёт игре нужную атмосферу.

Хоть через боль и страдания от бесконечных смертей (игра гораздо сложнее своего предшественника), я получил незабываемое и захватывающее приключение. Пускай это и огрызок от Age of Decadence в ролевом плане, но если бы все игры были по крайней мере такого уровня проработки, мир бы стал лучше. Советую геймерам старой школы, любителям тактики и, особенно, фанатам Age of Decadence.
После победы в финальном бою было ощущение, что в реальности свершил великий подвиг и стал героем. Хочу добавки! И вообще! После двух игр Iron Tower Studio теперь в числе моих любимых разработчиков.

If The Age of Decadence is Baldur's Gate, than this is its Icewind Dale. Interesting plot, but linear story and lack of notable choices in dialogue. If you enjoyed the combat of The Age of Decadence (like I did), then this is the game for you.

游戏虽小，但crpg该有的全都有，它甚至可以捡垃圾自己造装备，捡垃圾！

虽然我通常来说都对重战斗的游戏不太感冒，这部游戏的九成对话说到最后也只有一个“准备战斗”可选，但架不住它战棋做的真的好玩啊，既不是无脑堆怪也不是一刀一个毫无挑战性，让我心甘情愿一次次读档琢磨打法（当然我选的最低难度.....但新手教程建议先从最低难度开始，我很听劝的）。而且当我把主角点成了一个技能点全用在非战斗技能上的战斗废物，游戏就真的能让我用非战斗技能招募到一群强力队友，让主角只需给强大队友们打装备加buff再一到战斗就躲墙角即可通关，甚至还来了个战斗轻量版的特殊结局。我们不听劝的极端加点爱好者也被照顾到了（加点时新手提示会说最好先点一个战斗技能一个非战斗技能，一周目别极端加点，但我没听），非常感动。

缺点也有，比方说角色模型几乎要在贴脸的距离才能加载出来，换了营地之后经常找不到队友在哪，到了旧镇后以为自己只剩一个队友了，就这么打了好几场，直到实在打不过了才退回营地找原因，视角轻轻一转，三个人凭空出现在我面前；还有新手教程字那么多，连摆放小人时怎么调整朝向都教了，但却忽略了一些最基本最常用的东西，比方说怎么给十字弓装填箭矢（在武器上点右键就能看到），怎么或者装备图纸（在制造界面的装备上右键），我前期每次卡关都是因为有些系统不会用，谁懂我穿着蝎子铠甲一直走到晶体洞穴，直到箭矢用光了才终于发现怎么获得图纸的痛。并且因为这个游戏实在有点冷门，我搜现在该怎么做的攻略也搜不出来；感觉这部游戏有些明显的删减痕迹，后有剧情剧透 [spoiler] 有NPC说帝皇的蓝宝石眼睛能看到别人看不到的古代人幽灵，并且帝皇是杀了人才把眼睛抢到手的，但主角杀死帝皇后并不能把蓝宝石眼睛抠出来给自己安上，看看幽灵是啥。明明所有小地图都是以旧镇为中心相互联通的，后期也可以很方便的去前期地图，如果不是想让玩家有了新眼睛后重复探索，那我真不知道这么做的原因是什么 [/spoiler]

Несмотря на возможность выбора сложности, игра не для бездумного прокликивания. Нужно продумывать билд команды, количество ресурсов для крафта ограничено. В бою нужно продумывать каждый шаг, хотя рандом порой даёт прикурить. Лютый местами рандом это небольшой минус, но в целом... игра мне понравилась. Приятная визуальная составляющая. Чисто идёшь и зачищаешь подземелье. Диалогов в игре немного, но в них проводится параллель с событиями прошлой игры. Рекомендую поиграть в эту игру после прохождения The Age of Decadence.

Vince, I know I'm late to the party here, but can you patch the game so that the player can see exactly how much bleed damage each enemy is suffering per round? Not being able to see how much bleed is stacked on opponents is the only reason I haven't given this game a play through. I've been wanting to do a solo dagger build on hard mode, but it's unnecessarily clunky when I can't see who is and isn't going to bleed out at the start of each round.

Other than that, Dungeon Rats seems like a great tactical combat RPG. Its mechanics are simple and easily understood, yet the pieces all interact with each other in a way that provides a lot of complexity. The setting fits perfectly within the broader world of The Age of Decadence, allowing the story to take place on a relatively small scale while still feeling like a part of something big. The dialogue is realistic and sharp, consistent with the game's overall tone. And for a game that's intended to be very heavily focused on combat, Dungeon Rats still seems to have a lot of dialogue options and other role-playing elements—not compared to The Age of Decadence and Colony Ship, but compared to more mainstream RPGs.

Overall, from what I've seen of it, I think Dungeon Rats stands respectably at the side of its older and bigger sibling, The Age of Decadence.

A game to be played after the wonderful rpg game Age of Decadence by the same devs, and only if you enjoyed the fighting aspect of it (like playing as a mercenary or assassin and becoming the arena champion). And yes, the game is hard, even on easy, at least on a first playthrough.

Dungeon rats is a linear dungeon crawler set before the events in Age of decadence harsh game world. You play as a prisoner trying to escape an underground prison mine that was established by House Aurelian. And you will have to fight the whole way through mine gangs, various monsters, some constructs and finally Aurelian soldiers.

The game becomes a bit repetitive at some point, as most of the gameplay consists of again and again winning a fight, scrap everything we can, learn new schematics and improve our combat stats, alchemy and crafting skills to make better armors and weapons before the next fight that will have stronger fighters/monsters to vanquish.
There are no quest or journal. The main goal is to escape the prison.
The game also has no currency system or any sellers. The in-game stuff you get is what you scrap.

Here and there we get some snippets of lore while talking to the different possible companions and npcs we encounter, but mostly we fight.
The interesting aspect here compared to AoD, is that we can get 1 to 3 companions depending on our charisma, and as such we can explore group composition and tactical combat.

Por que?
Es mas simple que el mecanismo de un chupete(aburrido),la curva de dificultad no es que sea dificil,es que el algoritmo del juego para darte palos es cuanto menos estupido,que tienes defensa del copon, no pasa nada te va dar,que eres un dios del combate y tu bono de ataque es legendario,a partir del tercer combate parece manco.

Sin historia,sin rol,sin ganas...

Минусы.
1-После боя жизни сами не восстанавливаются, а получаемых в виде трофеев медикаментов катастрофически начинает не хватать уже к середине игры.
2-Алхимики своими бомбами пол жизни отнимают одной бомбой.
3-Кровотечение у врага практически невозможно вызвать в отличие от The Age of Decadence.
4-Вражеские стрелки часто игнорируют броню.
5-Слишком много стрелков у врага да ещё и в рукопашную они сражаются не хуже, чем стреляют.
6-Негде купить сети и бомбы и сделать их самому тоже нельзя.
7-Нельзя посмотреть характеристики врага.
8-Мутный сюжет.
Плюсы
1-Появилась возможность брать компаньонов и благодаря этому сеть стала приносить пользу.(один кидает сеть на врага, а другой его бьёт пока сеть его подвижность урезает)
2-Сбор трофеев сделали намного удобнее чем в The Age of Decadence.
3-Появились новые монстры.
4-Появились новые виды брони и оружие которые можно сделать из частей монстров.

It's a fun but challenging short adventure. Every fight makes you think about how to use your skills and items most effectively. Story is just flavor text but it's good enough for this kind of game especially if you played age of decadence. My only problem was last spider-construct fight when even my tank with max block and full hp couldn't defend himself more then for 2 turns so I had to spam bombs to win the fight which isn't really satisfying.
