...At least the other one is a slightly improved release bundle of the games!
This is just charging for a previously free game with hardly any improvements!

As several other reviewers have mentioned, the end of the game is bugged. Once you collect all of the keys in the Volcano area, the box simply does not open and you cannot face the final boss to complete the game. Very frustrating. In general, this is a fine graphical update to the game, but the random changes in musical tracks are just downgrades in that department, to be honest. Between that and the aforementioned bug? Just play the original instead, if you can.
do the dev play test the games because there's more bugs than pokemon s&v like duck life 7 delete save bug or duck life retro pack challenges sometimes not working but this game is so full of bugs is not fun here's the list 1. the remove ads button is useless in the steam port of game because you can't even put ads in steam games 2.the swamp softlock thing if you click the swamp race but you don't have the ticket from the red duck than the game softlock until you pause than unpause the game if game told you to beat the red duck and not softlock than it make less issues 3.the green red and orange keys from the volcano to open the box just don't show up and random ! shows up on your screen like dude you need the keys to beat the game like come on play test the games wix games and mad.com
chapter 6 bugged and unable to finish the game
How disappointing, Wanted to have some nostalgic fun from playing this as a kid.
But the final area is bugged and you cannot complete the game.
A lot of other people have complained about this and... nothing, it is still bugged.
Cannot currently recommned even for nostalgia because you can't even finish it.

Like other players before have mentioned, there is a bug at the last chapter of the game that prevents you from being able to complete it. This bug seems to have persisted for a long time, so I cannot recommend this game to anyone, even those who are nostalgic for this game.

The end of the game is bugged and you cannot finish it. Its impossible to open the crate. Dont buy it I wasted all my time maxing skills. Only resaon I have so much playtime is because I had it on and didnt shut my pc off

Duck Life 4 is a breezy and enjoyable game. I like the overall structure better than its prequels, and I think that the variety in minigames is a very welcome change.
Fans of the classic games may dislike the 2010s mobile game aesthetic, but I think that it suits the game alright, and will be just as nostalgic in due time. I quite liked the music too, and thought it was better than the previous games as well.
One big negative I found was that I would effectively reach a killscreen in a minigame - a point where further progress is essentially random, and find that I had only gained around 20-25 levels. This was always a drag because I no longer had anything to aim for in that game, and so the prospect of repeating that process another 5 or 6 times was pretty lame. Some of the negatives regarding the game (specifically the undercooked teams mechanic, and the monotony of grinding) can largely be mitigated by approaching the game with a casual mindset.
Overall I enjoyed my time with this game and would give it a light recommendation. Medium if you're a stoner.

I remember getting this game on my phone before playing it on an illegal website years back. Now I realize that this game is on steam for a really low price. SO yknow I just HAD to get it. It still has the charm from those years back. Its standard duck life you cant get much better then that. I would say this is my favorate between duck like 1-4 since its like a combination of all of them combined. Good game for good price

It’s fine but not that well made, but I still like it
I've just finished running through this game for a second time since I bought it. Each playthrough takes approx 2 hours, so don't expect a ton of play time lol
That said! We have the usual pros and cons list.
Pros:
-Easy to make progress
-Challenging mini games
-Easy controls
-Can customize your duck (so cute)
-The colors are very vibrant and fun to look at
-Once you beat the game, you get a little retro arcade game that allows you to level up from 150 to 250 on everything.
Cons:
-Not a ton of play time
-Some mini games don't really do anything in terms of helping you level up (looking at you, jumping training and that god awful Avalanche mini game in the climbing training)
-Leveling up more after finishing the game is kind of like polishing a turd; not worth it lol
That said, I feel like I was a bit harsh in my review considering the fact I DO actually enjoy the game. My best piece of advice, though, is don't pay full price and wait for steam to do one of their big sales. I got this for $1.99 instead of the usual listed $3.99. While $3.99 isn't bad, considering the amount of gameplay there is I believe it's too high.
Final thoughts: Super cute, fun game, slightly monotonous, but overall a nice time!

You get to sit in a chair and feed a duck steroids until it can win world championships. Wonderful use of your time if you are overdue on your rent.
it's a direct mobile port with many issues due to it not actually being built for pc
- some minigames have odd controls clearly designed for tablets
- the screen res is locked to your monitor size with no configuration options
- one minigame is actually unplayable somehow
and as for the game, it's not worth the price tag. it's the same quality and quantity as the free flash games that came before

As much as I like the Duck Life series I just can't recommend this game over the original Duck Life 4 on Flash. Some of the music tracks have been changed (running training, race, and climbing training) and I personally think it was for the worst, I don't like the new music that much. The minigames themselves have also been changed in some ways, and many of them are just quite boring to play through, and the statistics take too much time to level up compared to the Duck Life Retro Pack games for example. The graphics have also been updated but I don't have much of an opinion on that. They're still quite simple. I don't think this game is worth the 4€ it's sold for.

As an avid Duck Life enjoyer, I really liked this game. It took what all the previous Duck Life's did right (minus Duck Life 2 because that game didn't do anything right) and did it better. This is honestly one of the best Duck Life games of all time. If you look back through all the Duck Life games you'll see that Duck Life 4 is where the noticeable jump in quality came to be. The visuals, the gameplay, the story and the world building just all shot up substantially in this game.
The mini-games were also really good and innovating for Duck Life. Before this game all the mini-games were just simple "go as far as you can without failing" But Duck Life 4 added a bunch of new and cool mini-games to really switch up the gameplay loop, which made training a lot more enjoyable in my opinion.
The story also really shot up in quality compared to before. Previous Duck Life story lines were just like 1 or 2 random panels but Duck Life 4 really changed this by sprinkling a lot more Story throughout the game. (albeit still as panels but a lot more and also better) Duck Life 4 also started a story line that continues throughout later Duck Life games. (But I'm not gonna talk about that because it's spoiler territory for this and later games.
Lastly I want to talk about the art style. Duck Life 4 was a lot more polished than the previous Duck Life games. There were a lot of different areas in the game with their own bright and vibrant colours that really showcased how much they upped the quality in this game compared to Duck Life 3: which although did do the same thing, still had the simplistic design of the early Duck life games.
TLDR: Duck Life 4 is really really good, and upped the bare minimum for quality that every Duck Life game that later came followed.

Looked everywhere for this game cause I loved playing it as a kid and with flash gone I couldn't play it anymore. Then I discovered it was on steam! Promptly purchased it and oh boy am I glad I did! Brought back fond memories and it's just as fun as I remember. 10/10!

As a lover of the original Duck Life 4, when I heard it was on Steam, I obviously had it buy it! This version features updated graphics and a few changes to the song and dialogue, but overall it's the same. While I had fun playing it, I must admit it doesn't feel the hole in the heart that the original did. The original also seemed more polished in terms of interactions with the duck, as in this game, it's incredibly easy to farm money and whenever you beat a duck, their dialogue doesn't change. This also goes for Fire Duck, which after I beat I clicked on him again only for him to say the same "I'm the undefeated champion of all Ducks!" No bro, you ain't anymore.
Another gripe I have is that this game is incredibly easier compared to the OG. I remember spending like 5 hours to finish the original, while this one I completely finished in a little over 2 hours. The OG was definitely way more grindy, but that made beating the game so rewarding. This game is definitely a downgrade in terms of that.
So besides those gripes, I rate the original a 9/10 and this version a solid 7/10 :) Happy to support the devs but wish they kept more true to the OG
