I originally got this game for free on Xbox game pass years ago. This was my first real intro to rougelite games and it has had a lasting impression on me. I haven't turned on my Xbox for years, but I still think of this game. It finally occurred to me to see if Steam had it, and I'm glad I did. Even though I originally got it for free, this was an easy $25 to spend.

I dont mind a hard game. But when it starts out too difficult and you keep dieing over and over within the first minute..Difficulty curve is off the chart.. would recommend if you like that kind of thing. Get it on sale for a 1$

最唯美的音乐
最舒缓的氛围
节奏不快，能力种类多样
游戏不同元素之间可以联动，产生不一样的效果，这也是这个游戏输出的主要来源。
目前也发现一个能力具有隐藏属性，雷电冲刺的能力描述中有一条：仿佛听到一千只鸟鸣，如果敌方已经触电，则该能力造成的伤害必然为1000+基础面板属性

꿈을 꾸는 듯한 몽환적인 분위기의 액션 로그라이크 게임
하지만 꿈이라 그런지 어디선가 본 것들로 가득한 게임

유명한 게임으로 비교하자면 아이작 + 하데스일까요?
그러나 왜 아이작과 하데스가 성공했는지는 알지 못하는 게임인듯 합니다

장점
- 어떻게든 컨셉을 위한 이것저것 많이 넣은 아티팩트들
- 그래도 액션 게임으로 체면을 챙기려고 노력한 모습
- 로그라이크의 다회차 플레이를 통해 강해지는 내 캐릭터

단점

- 거지같은 보스와 몬스터 패턴들
난이도를 설정할 수록 추가되는 패턴들이 끔찍합니다.
그냥 플레이어가 힘들겠지? 어려워하겠지?라는 생각으로만 추가한듯한 패턴들이 역겨워서 하차하네요
깊이있는 전투 시스템이라고 하는데 이건 깊이가 아니라 하면 할수록 플레이어를 원패턴으로 만들게하는 패턴 뿐입니다.
캐릭터 특유의 느려터진 선딜과 후딜에 비해 이상한 타이밍으로 공격하는 적들
어떤 공격은 느려터진 선딜에 타이밍 맞추기 까다롭고, 어떤 공격은 즉시 반응해야 하는 빠른 공격을 하는 등
지멋대로 때리는데 짜증만 납니다.
그리고 게임이 후반으로 갈수록 원거리 공격이 많아지는데 이는 모든 액션의 템포를 해치게 됩니다.
그러다보니 원거리 플레이만 하게 되거나 한대 치고 도망다니기만 하네요
그리고 보스가 그로기 상태임에도 공격하는 경우는 처음보는 초식이네요. 매우 불쾌했습니다.

- 전혀 몰입할 수 없는 현실세계와 꿈 속 세계
처음엔 몽환적이고 다크한 분위기인줄 알았는데, 웬걸 힐링게임이네요. 현실세계에선 감성게임으로 충만하다가 꿈 속 세계를 들어가면 갑자기 전투를 하게 되는데, 여기서 오는 괴리감이 하면 할수록 이 게임 속 세계에 몰입하지 못하게 만듭니다.

- 밸런스가 전혀 맞지 않는 다양한 아티팩트
다양한 컨셉 좋습니다. 다양한 능력 좋지요. 그런데 적어도 회피기는 그렇게 하시면 안됐습니다.
거리가 짧아서 회피가 어렵고, 거리가 길어서 회피가 어렵고, 후딜이 길어서 회피가 어렵고, 후딜이 짧아서 회피가 어렵고, 심지어 이마저도 아이디어 짜기 어려운지 회피기 종류는 또 가장 적네요
이럴거면 회피기는 하나로 하는게 맞았다고 봅니다. 시간이 느려지는 능력은 굳이 하나만 들고 있으면서 회피기는 그렇게 만들면 괜히 골치 아파지구요

- 반복을 하면 할수록 피곤해지기만 하는 레벨디자인
퍼즐은 처음에는 나름 재밌지만 계속 똑~같은 퍼즐만 나오니 이건 그냥 게임 흐름을 뚝뚝 끊기만 하는 주범이되네요
솔직히 이럴거면 굳이 필요했나 싶습니다. 아니면 나중엔 딸깍으로 바뀌게 해주던가요. 아니면 난이도 조절해서 좀 깨는 맛이라도 있던가요
그리고 위에서도 얘기했지만 난이도가 어려워질수록 적들의 패턴이 추가되고 강화되다보니 플레이어의 모든 행동들에 제약만 생겨서 그나마 살짝 냄새는 나던 액션성이 죽어버렸습니다.
이건 제작자분들이 후반부는 플레이를 많이 해보셨나 고민이 드네요

많은 액션 로그라이크 게임들 중에 이 게임을 해야할 이유는 정식 한국어 지원 뿐이라고 생각이 듭니다.

This is an amazing game and I had a lot of fun playing it, even though I haven't really completed it for the real ending yet. And it saddens me that so many people dislike it for the most insignificant things while I see a lot of praise for game that lack.. well.. the game.

The gameplay is great, the combat is fine, albeit may feel unfair-ish sometimes when enemies hit you with telegraphed attacks from outside the screen or when you are hit by something you should not have been hit with. If you are able to learn (and you really effing should if you're going to play a roguelite), this stops to be a problem or even a nuisance after several hours (or several hours in each act since the last one reset the timer and required several hour more). Overall I would say it's fair and balanced and of you know what you do and what you build, you're either fine or you're done for (since some {or even many} people compared it to Hades somehow - I went up to heat 16 there, and I don't like to push myself to much in games, so I stopped when it started to become frustratng or stopped feeling fun) and there are definitely times when you just know the build is not building, whining about it is what I see here in the reviews to Dreamscaper.

The dream/real word is an interesting explanation/justification of what you do in you runs vs what you do in-between.

The story might feel dull at first but then I did the runs mainly for it. People sleeping on the dialogues are probably the ones who don't read much in games in general - I've read all the journals in Sacred 2 and Divine Divinity back when I was 10 and there was a lot of stuff the had nothing to do with the story, or sidequests, or anything at all. Skipping the story in a game that has a story and complaining about it is a choice.

Update After 60+ Hours and 100% Completion

The dreamworld absolutely delivers. The music? perfection. It loops forever without ever feeling repetitive, and it fits the atmosphere to a T. Combat flow stays smooth even when the enemies start feeling a bit samey. Hunting down new weapons and grinding them up is fun. Going for 100% adds a real challenge.

The overworld, though? Peak cringe. Crafting feels pointless, and every NPC conversation is an insta-skip with zero guilt. The memories you find in the dreams could have been enough without the need for all the npc fluff.

This game feels (to me) a mix of Ashen, Deaths Door and Hades.

I love games that I can pick up and put down for short spurts and you can play a floor and save after each boss with this game.

Afterburner Studios knows how to build an addictive game loop. They nailed that part so I’m absolutely keeping an eye on whatever they make next.

爆的东西不仔细看随便拿给自己害死了，伤害加成100%无敌了，但是同样掉血也加100%，这个好处这于拿伤害高的武器可以快速秒掉boss，而且武器种类很多，建议可以多出几个人物，点tad的技能改一下，那个解密关卡有点不明白圆圈那个，整体上还是挺好玩的。

史上最白癡的遊戲道具「春天的步伐」，只要不小心撿到直接原地打斷腿，然後他媽連兩關不給鐵匠鋪連拆都不給拆。後面的王全部都紅攻腦攤才隔擋(波動也擋個懶覺)，難度8的最後一隻王栽在這個白癡道具上，害我要浪費一堆時間把好不容易湊好的裝備全部重打，敢不敢把這個狗屁不通不知道哪個白癡設計的垃圾道具放到素描上，特地設計了一個低能裝備噁心玩家，誰撿誰倒楣每局遇到一次就賭爛一次。

Es un muy buen juego, siento como si fuera un diablo rebajado, que no se traduce para nada en malo, sin embargo el estilo roguelike da mucha jugabilidad y rejugabilidad, para los que aman completar al 100% un juego porque le da tok, recomendadicimo.

Lo único que no me agrade al 100% es la estética, que se siente muy genérica, con ese estilo de personajes tipo maniquí parece muy simplista, el juego se siente tan poco lleno de vida, no lo recomiendo jugar en pantallas grandes sino en consolas tipo steamdeack, la pantalla reducida hace que la falta de detalle de personajes sea más llevadero.

Otro detalle es la historia, no es muy entretenida, los diálogos con los NPCs son aburridos, si trascienden en mecánicas del juego, pero son conversaciones aburridísimas, pero no es lago que te afecte en la jugabilidad, simplemente es saltarse los diálogos.

Sin duda lo volvería a comprar, pero no al precio completo, o sea si es muy bueno pero no tanto, en otras palabras, si lo encuentras con descuento es una compra segura, pero a precio normal sí lo pensaría un poco, si sobra el dinero y buscas algo entretenido es muy buena opción.

A cute little roguelike.
While the game itself is fairly short, going for 100% completion will keep you busy for quite some time.

The difficulty is rather high, especially at the beginning. I eventually finished it on the hardest setting (Intensity 8), but honestly… it took much longer than I’d like to admit.

Despite the challenge, the story while brief is still solid. The theme of loss and regret are handled surprisingly well and add emotional weight to the experience.

Overall, a tough but enjoyable game and an easy recommendation.

이미 많은 로그라이트류 게임들이 나온 시점에서 가격이 싸서 혹해서 해봤는데
아트도 나쁘지않고 꿈속에서 펼쳐지는 이야기라는 설정이 독특함
문제는 설정이 그것뿐이라서 좀 아쉬운정도고 죽고 파밍하고 죽고 파밍하고 하는 익숙한 로그라이트 게임일뿐임
다 어디서 봐왔던 비슷한 시스템들이라서 익숙한맛이라서 나쁘지않음
나온지 4년이나 지난 시점에서 정가주고 사기에는 추천하기 어렵고 다렉 할인할때 한번 해봐야겠다싶으면 추천함
4500원이라는 가격으로 즐기면 괜찮은 게임임

I'd give this about a 7.5. For context, I'd give Hades 1 & 2 a 9.5. It's a solid rougelite. The outside of the combat art style and story is simple and forgettable. The combat is good, but fairly unbalanced. Leech effects, heal on hit, are outrageously powerful compared to the other stats, and even with a recent nerf, are still the best by far. 毎回マップとドロップが変わるアクションＲＰＧだがローグ系かというと育成メインなのでやっぱりアクションＲＰＧかなぁという感じ。単純に自分向けではないのだろうとは思うけれど、色々だるいのでどういう人向けなのか良く分からない。とにかくテンポが悪い。

育成のペースが遅いので育成自体は救済目的なのかも知れないけれど、育成しないとなると雑魚敵は無駄に硬い。倒すメリットがほとんどない申し訳程度のドロップだが殲滅しないと先に進めないのもだるい。移動速度ももっさりしているのに加え、装備構成によってはさらにスピードダウンという感じで、アクションゲーとしてはかなり動きが鈍い部類ではなかろうか？もちろんボスと一対一ならそれでもいいのだが、雑魚敵と殴り合うのがメインのゲームなのでこれは…という感じ。

街での交流パートも正直キャラに魅力を感じられなかったし、会話の内容も無味乾燥でだるいし、誰に渡せばいいのか分からないプレゼントは大量に作らないといけないし…。

雑魚敵戦が面倒になって被弾率が上がって低層ループという悪循環が頻発するので途中だが投げてしまった。三層目くらいの雑魚敵はもはや最初のボスの何倍も硬いのだが、何か根本的に間違っているのだろうか？大技打つにしても硬直長いので被弾しやすくなるだけだし…。

取り敢えず使い物にならない装備をさっさとマスターして捨てたい、という考え方を捨てて、使い勝手のいいのだけに寄せるのが正解なのかもね。武器ごとに攻撃タイミングを変えないといけないのもコロコロ装備変えるとなるとやりにくいし。

いずれにせよアクションＲＰＧにしては爽快感がないのでどうしたものか。唯一の救いはクスリがぶ飲みゴリ押しゲーでないところかなと思う。まぁ雑魚敵に削られまくって瀕死状態でボス戦とか無残なことも起きるが…

Sooo... At first, I was rather sceptical about whole game. The story of a girl who moved from small town to a bigger one, looking for her place in life was a bit of cliche... until we start to get some more info along with some cutscenes and story progression. Already telling you - it's not a kind of game that will tell you most of its story in less than 30 minutes, if you don't feel it or like it. Of course, the progression is highly dependant of how well we play some parts. But as much as I delved into the story - I've found it quite therapeutical for myself, in a way.

Concept of fighting and gathering 'awake-world' resources while dreaming - nothing new, but gives a lot of place and opportunity for interesting solutions. Also, mechanics are rather forgiving for newcomers to roguelikes, adding fast-travel between already discovered rooms (including boss room), pickups don't disappear after leaving the room, etc. Makes you want to speedrun this game or at least try to get your own best strat to do stuff as you want.

As for graphics, characters are simple in design, but that is not the 'meat' of this part - the devil is in the details around. Detailed surroundings, especially in further stages of runs, give out how much can be taken from 'dream-fighting' concept. Many of weapons used by protagonist have interesting animations, similarily the enemies designs are something that we can't get bored with, even if mindlessly tearing through them during another run on higher difficulty. Not to mention how awesome is the design of bosses, along with their cutscenes. Especially the latter is worth to look at, instead of skipping every time.

In my opinion, soundtrack is a must-have in collection. Beautiful, soft, orchestral sounds, emphasizing emotions that might 'spill out' from our protagonist accidentaly - a bit of melancholy on early stages, slowly turning into a fight for survival in her own nightmares and symbolic depictions of her past experiences. Even if the tracks are looped for each stage, they are long enough and constructed in a way that doesn't annoy or make you bored.

All in all, Dreamscaper has this special little place in my heart, as I like to come back to this game and play again. And again. And again. And... well, you know the drill. I've enjoyed the story, despite how slowly it might unwind at first. Came in sceptical, but stayed because I've found some reflections of things in myself while playing and fighting through nightmares. Fell in love with music, enjoy the art after getting comfortable with the concept and, well... it's a kind of game that will be enjoyed by more 'artsy-fartsy' people. Including me in this bunch.

TL;DR version: Game gud, buy wiz munny.

It's one of these games where you do 'runs' rather than just play a campaign or story like a normal game. I'll never understand why games are made that are intended for you to fail.

And you collect and buy things in the 'runs' that then disappear when the run ends.

And the gameplay is very much about reflexes and memorising attack patterns. Hard no from me.

Dreamscaper - Send Yourself Asleep!

Want to play Hades, but as a slightly dumpy millennial? Me neither really....

The combat is alright, the weapons and moves are alright, the art style is alright, the progression is alright. The only thing not alright, is the dialogue when you're not in the dream world. Jesus. It's the most sleep-inducing stuff ever; myself having to desperately resist falling into my own bloody dream world while listening to that tripe. It's mind-numbingly dull and suitably modern; in its wishy washy, depression-obsessed, wrist-slitting aversion to optimism.

The story is about the dumpy millenial you play. People hilariously keep getting your name slightly wrong. That's all I cared to remember.

Unless you masturbate to mediocre rogue-like games... don't pay full price. Wait for it to be below £10. If that. Otherwise, do something equally stimulating with your time - like, re-folding all of your tea cloths.

Après 11h passées, j'y reviens encore et encore. Le jeu est beau, dur, la musique très belle. Le loot aléatoire est parfois punitif façon The Binding of Isaac, mais qu'est-ce que c'est bien ! Côté rejouabilité, pareil, je n'ai rien à redire.

Au passage les boss sont beaux et parfois difficile :)

N'oublions pas la partie réalité qui apporte un petit plus et permet vraiment de sortir du monde des rêves :D

Charming roguelite which punches far above its weight due to the fluidity of its combat and depth of writing in its relationship system and the slowly unfolding narrative of an unreliable narrator.

My biggest gripe is that the story unfolds on a pace much slower than the actual gameplay, it's to be expected that multiple runs are required but after unlocking nearly everything there is and even beating the 'final' boss multiple times the game gives me a hard 'no, go grind affection points some more'.
An easy solution would be some kind of 'catchup' system (that in fact, sort of exists in reverse by giving you meta progression for doing the story!) to fast-track you towards the relationship events (and thus the story that i obviously care about and want to see) instead of intentionally dying over and over again on level 1 just for the chance to talk to the characters again (and consequently, actively punishing you for playing the roguelite part, which can never be the intent.)

Didn't play very much - I imagine this won't bug most people, but I got this hoping for some character customization and a blank slate because the description keeps telling 'you' to do things - 'you' dive into your subconscious, 'you' conquer 'your' nightmares. In actuality, there's a main character - Cassidy - and you play as her, and you explore her story as you play.
Maybe I'll pick it back up sometime, and there's nothing wrong with the game mechanically, I just expected some character customization - at least aesthetically - and wasn't really looking for a character driven story.

O jogo é incrível, com gráficos bons, mecânicas fáceis de pegar, uma variedade enoorme de armas, ataques especiais, esquivas e escudos. Pode ser difícil acompanhar a historia devido não ter tradução PT-BR e os diálogos nas cenas passar automaticamente, podendo não dar tempo de ler e compreender tudo.
Conforme a progressão da história, senti falta de alguns aprofundamentos nela, talvez mais cenas para conecta-las, mas a sensação foi mais de querer saber mais do universo e dos personagens e não de algo mal acabado/incompleto.

Ps.: 51 horas foi o tempo que levei para platinar

This game features a wide variety of different discoverable items that keeps the game interesting and a really good level of difficulty that clearly puts defeat in the hands of the player, all while being wrapped in a solid nostalgic story that keeps you interested.

This is my first roguelite game, and I'm glad that it is. I'm more familiar with the JRPG and RPG systems, and at first, this game was difficult for me because of the changing equipment, dungeon maps, and permadeath. However, because of the characters, music, design, and most importantly, the theme revolving around mental health and reconnection, I was eager to learn the basics and how roguelite works, how it was supposed to be difficult at first.

This game trains you to adapt and learn to use what you have in hand at the moment to your best advantage. Putting that aside, the conversations with the characters felt real, and the characters themselves are distinctive, really resonating the upgrade/buff they provide for Cassidy. There are some upgrades from the dungeon improvement, meditation, and sketches that I don't feel like I need to be able to complete all 7 floors, but they provide good support for people with different play styles.

Overall, I'm glad this is my first roguelite game.

Thanks to the creators/developers for making such a beautiful game!

근데 타격감이 좀 떨어지는 경향이 있고 단조로운 맵구성이랑 몬스터들이 있다
속성 터트리는 기믹을 이용하면 데미지를 뻥튀기가 가능해서 템이 잘 뜬다면 쉽게 가능하다
근데 진엔딩을 보려면 던전이 아니라 밖에서 npc랑 노가다를 좀 해야되서 힘들다

+剧情和世界观设计不错，失败后回到现实中提升属性再回到梦境也非常有想法
+简单模式-50%伤害后战斗体验还算可以，中后期道具和遗物多了爽起来也多了不少玩法
+SteamDeck体验还行
-肝度有点太大了，30小时了有不少道具还没有解锁，真结局还需要好友度全满，通关一遍也刷不了多少，很麻烦
-战斗难度挺大的，吸血属性很难获得，容错很低，建议直接开简单模式
-斜视角的3D游戏感觉有点距离和位置判断不太清晰，有些场景又比较大，打起来是画面不如Hades这种的表现，人物和场景就会混乱
不算一个特别优秀的肉鸽，不推荐给大部分玩家，估计只有像我这种肉鸽狂热爱好者才能玩的下去吧，建议开局直接简单模式，不然局外成长太慢了，玩起来会更难受。2.5/10

Allora, io non sono un grande amante dei giochi alla "the binding of isaac" ma questo gioco aveva attirato la mia attenzione per il concetto dei sogni che viene implementato qui, e dire che sono rimasto piacevolmente sorpreso è riduttivo.
Tu sei cassidy, una persona come tante che, dopo un brutto evento nella sua vita, ritorna nella sua città natale e cercherà di superare questo evento, affrontando gli incubi che la perseguitano nel sonno. Il bello di questo rougelike è che il combattimento è sempre strano e variegato. Senza dire troppo vi dico che la notte saraàù un action rougelike in cui potremmo utilizzare le più disparate armi (ma tipo che una run combattete con i guantoni da boxe, mentre sparate con un super liquidator, e no non è per dire, schivate con degli scatti di e scatenate ere glaciali e buchi neri. PER DIRE) mentre di giorno per aumentare le proprie statistiche e anche per scoprire piano piano il personaggio, farete amicizia con la gente del posto, un idea semplice ma efficacissima.

le uniche 2 pecche che secondo me ci sono è che il sistema di combattimento inizialmente è un po' legnoso, ma col tempo vi ci abituate, e che non ci sta una grande varietà di nemici. Ma sapete cosa? Il gioco diverte, è originale ed è un opera prima, quindi per me è perdonabile queste 2 cose.

Detto ciò, dategli una chance.

Сначала я думал, что это Hades курильщика, но потом распробовал. Недурственно. Дримскейпер затянул меня на 40+ часов и мне даже захотелось выбить в нём платину.
Игра оставляет смешанные впечатления. С одной стороны в ней присутствует огромное разнообразие экипировки, с другой очень небольшой частью из неё пользоваться весело и приятно. Есть 6 уровней с рандомной генерацией комнат, но каждый проход по ним очень репитативен. Присутствует попытка в развитие персонажей, их характеров, химии между ними и главной героиней, ростом доверия между ними, но выглядит это жиденько, если честно, сделано как будто для галочки.
Тем не менее, игра мне действительно понравилась, но я мог бы порекомендовать её только фанатам рогаликов или людям, которым совсем не во что играть.

Thematically a cool game. The gameplay is pretty good, but it feels like it's missing something. The roguelike elements are okay, but underwhelming. The combat and puzzles are decent, but kind of simple and repetitive. I played this several times, and then put it down. It has sat in my library, downloaded and ready to go, but I've never had the interest to pick it back up. I would recommend finding it at some point on sale.

Solid roguelike. The combat is just varied enough to stay interesting.
The relationship mechanics are a little strange and kinda seem like an afterthought but does not detract too much from the core gameplay.

Really wonderful Action roguelike. The combat is fluid, there are tons of options for different weapons and spells to equip. Levels are a bit same-ish, but I didnt mind. Good unlock meta progression. The meta-story is a bit strange, but kind of like a puzzle game within the game, very unique! Smooth graphics, good music. All around recommend 8/10

难度有点高，一直没通关，时隔多年再试试。
肉鸽元素还是好玩的，但是肉鸽导致武器手感很难培养，得了好武器总不能不用吧……肉鸽和动作的结合还是有点欠佳。
玩到现在已经开始做全成就了，这游戏设计真的是失败，难度曲线不合理，为了肉鸽而肉鸽，动作的意义也很小，近战收益低风险高，完全比不上理性技能和远程攻击，偏偏近战武器设计了一堆，难以理解。
高难度的流程差不多1小时半一局，每个房间都如履薄冰，打完人都要累死，boss失败的挫折感太强。
但是偏偏玩着还有点爽……服了

Hades se lo cogio a Paulo Coelho y salio esta basofia. No se de donde salieron las reseñas positivas, me han timao (!)
Visualmente justito, jugabilidad aceptable porque es un clon del juego antes citado, pero la protagonista esta como 'depre' no se, o tiene algun sindrome, algun cromosoma demas tambien podria ser... es decir, la parte de sociabilizar y desbloquear la historia va de encarar a unas personas random regalandoles "posavasos caseros", y recien ahi les podes hablar (???)... NO GRACIAS, estaba al pedo pero no tanto.
Por mi que siga soñando de por vida.

Belle petite surprise que ce Dreamscaper.

N'étant pas un grand fan de rogue lite, je l'ai lancé sans grande conviction, m'attendant à vite décroché. Et pourtant ...
C'est tous l'inverse qui c'est produit, même si l'option "mode facile" a bien aidé.
A coté de ça,
la D.A, les graphismes et la B.O sont magnifique,
Le scénario est prenant, et bien qu'au début, tous est volontairement flou, en avançant, tous s'explique,
Le gameplay est simple mais efficace avec une bonne sensation de progression

L'idée, de combattre ses rêves ( ou plutôt ses cauchemars ) façon die and retry est vraiment un bonne idée.

Vous auriez tort de passé à coté donc laissez lui une chance.
