Dolls Nest

Dolls Nest is a 3D action game where you control a mecha girl as she explores the gigantic factory world of Hod on her journey to uncover the truth. Hod, the world which you inhabit, is a massive crater crawling with armored units. Broken machines and ruined buildings are strewn across its landscape. But fate can be cruel. You must scavenge the land for resources if you wish to survive in this ruined world. Make use of the parts and items you find on your journey, and overcome the trials that lie before you.

First time playing a mech/mech-like game. This was really fun and the gameplay is really interesting from all of the rear arms to gadgets, if I had a complaint it would be it really doesn't remind you about them after tutorial and I spent a good 1/4th the game never using the gadget features.

For art and character design, could use more character customization options like more hair and face styles but other than that it is really good and cute,

Story is, well, dark souls like, you know the drill. But found it very interesting and a interesting take on what now seems to be a running theme of robot dystopia's in dark souls like genre.

我比较喜欢这种弯弯绕绕，有支路和隐藏要素的地图。但是游戏的场景设计仍然比较单调，尤其是颠倒森林，缺乏一些标志性的建筑物，导致绝大部分探图体验都像是鬼打墙。在游戏的前半程，因为没有找到足够好使的武器，游戏有足够的难度，让我有机会在一次次死后记住正确的道路。不过后面找到好使的武器就全变成砍瓜切菜了，反而会晕头转向。

说到武器/装备系统，DN的武器/装备确实有足够的可玩性和自由度，但是因为换装与强化都十分繁琐，外加武器的名字只是一串代号，并且在有些界面只有名字没有样子，导致其毫无记忆点。再加上各个部位机甲的件数太多，影响的属性也十分复杂，入门起来可能对我这种只玩过魂没有玩过AC系列的玩家过于困难。同时有些分散在图里的装备也很难判断是否集齐。

画质和优化更是灾难，但对于小工作室我也不多苛求，至少在我13600KF+7900XT的电脑上可以比较流畅地运行。

总体而言，是一部瑕不掩瑜的优秀作品，这家小体量的工作室带来了十分丰富的内容量和强大的可玩性，定价也十分实惠，我至少可以推荐会喜欢魂系列的玩家购买。

Concept is great, but execution is lackluster.

Level design is just not good. Everything just feels sterile without really any personality. Exploration is not really enjoyable in-general and frustrating when you find an item placed in a high location requiring you to change out your mobility build (which respawns all enemies) to acquire.

Weapons which are just underwhelming. Several are non-viable given atrocious range, accuracy, and/or ammo consumption. The ones that give reliable damage are just boring to use.

Just a few hours into the game I already felt it become tedious, which is a shame for a game which on paper sounded like something I would truly enjoy.

强烈推荐机娘爱好者游玩。初上手会有些困难，但是习惯以后会觉得非常迷人，对不同boss和对人形战都有不同的侧重，会要求玩家考虑不同的武备配置。可以同时享受魂like和AC系列的玩法。地图设计非常优秀，虽然建模贴图都比不上3A大作，但是整体观感非常震撼，无论是黝黑的深层还是能看到太阳的净水层都能带来不同的废土风格体验。故事情节也设计的挺好，总体而言作为N+做这类游戏的第一次尝试真的是相当优秀了。

1周目クリアできたのでレビューします。始めてフルプライスで買ったゲーム。
メインとなる戦闘は面白いですが、調整不足な部分もあります。
マップがないのを最初不満に感じてましたが探査するゲームと割り切ればこれもありかなと思えました。
最初のボス戦でボスの下に潜り込んでしまって脱出不能になり、ひたすら撃ちまくってたら勝てました。

ストーリーは薄味で戦う理由付け程度だと思います。もう少し凝っていてもいいのではないかと思います。

キャラクリエイトができるのは美少女ゲーとして必須だと思うので嬉しいですが全身を見渡せるのがホームだけなのは残念だったのと、どうせなら自分でクリエイトしたキャラで他のプレイヤーと交流できる場がほしいと感じまし
た。

まとまりの無いレビューですが総じて面白いゲームでした。

先說一下遊戲缺點
1. 沒有拍照模式視覺也不能調校作為賣點是自由組裝塗裝機甲及自訂機娘的遊戲遊玩時幾全程只能看背後想看清npc也要自己卡視角
2. 弱引導雖然明白是打算用小垃圾引導玩家但物品顏色和部份地圖燈光重合容易看漏
3. 缺少場景音樂探索時間都很靜希望被敵人發現時可整點有少許緊張感音樂作提示
4. 近戰手感差 2025年的機甲遊戲近戰沒刀推沒Z軸補正十分難上手
5. 不能空中爬升有時機動太高衝落坑不能補救要重新跑一遍

建議整個像黑魂那樣連線模式
另外可以考慮整個視角鍵按下去能調視角和視距鬆開或再按一次變回戰鬥視覺

不過遊戲如果對想電波也挺好玩的
個人較喜歡機甲跟二次元這種
另外地圖設計等很有魂味
價錢也不算貴内容也不算少

tl;dr - Dolls Nest is a heavily Demon's Souls and Armoured Core inspired game, though it's difficulty is rather low as it's playtime is.

Demo - let's you play to the Hub zone (first level + boss) but you can't use that save for the main game. Just so you know.

I'm on my second play-through and I spend much to long on the first, trying different play-styles. But same as with Armoured Core or Demon's Souls, if you found a working combination, you'll never be satisfied with anything else. So the first play-through can be done on a focused weekend.
The levels feel abandoned and huge, some say they're empty and the amount of walking is too much, but I love that. It gives you that Souls feeling, which is amplified by the cryptic story and mysterious characters. It's not Open-World-ish like Dark Souls, much more like Demon's Souls were you have a hub world and enter different areas via teleport.
Dolls Nest became one of my favourite Titles and even my Game of the Year 2025

This isn't perfect, there are some frustrations and some baffling design decisions here, but the game is fun, overall.

One negative is that there isn't an in-game map. A lot of the areas are very straight-forward so a map isn't really required, but a few areas are convoluted and hard to remember and a map would have been nice. Starting this game was extremely frustrating because the first area of the game is the worst offender with winding corridors that loop around and it's difficult to remember where you've been or where anything is in relation to other places. After you defeat the first boss and unlock more areas to visit, though, it becomes a lot less frustrating. I also don't remember being told that the fairy circles are teleporters. You have to stand inside them for several seconds for them to activate.

Another negative is that your main shop NPC is missable. If you don't stumble across her in the first area and help her then she will never appear in the hub area. Worse yet, there is a psuedo-shop NPC in the hub area so you might be tricked into thinking there is no other shop NPC or that you will unlock a better shop later but by that point you will have already missed her and she sells *extremely* important early game items, namely repair and supplement consumables.

And one last negative is that the weapon/frame progression is all over the place. So much of the stuff you find is junk or really quirky in a way that will never be useful. You will often find awesome gear early in the game and then you find worse versions of the same kind of gear in the later parts of the game. My primary weapon at the end of the game was a belt-fed grenade launcher that I found in the first 20% of the game and never found anything worth replacing it with. I found an awesome spider-like frame in the first 1/3 of the game and then when I found more spider-like frames later on, they were worse than the one I already had. Things like that. It's very rare to come across legitimate upgrades.

But, like I said at the beginning, it is a fun game, overall, once you get out of the confusing first area. The bosses, in particular, are really awesome and well-designed. A couple are brain-meltingly frustrating and a couple are pathetically easy but the majority are very well-designed and some even force you to tune your loadout so you aren't just brainlessly fighting everything on auto-pilot. I recommend this, but only if you have a little bit of patience.

The Game truly lives up to being the Mecha-Musume Equivalent of a Souls-like game, despite the customizations of Armored Core present along with the Challenging Fights, my only gripe is the Quest Navigation is really confusing as you don't know what your main task is supposed to be in a specific zone.

In terms of UI it's fine though I am not in favor of the fact that all Ammunition is dedicated to one bar, I would rather have Armored Core 6's Way of how ammo capacity is handled when using the reticle and I'm also a little disappointed there is no Hard Lock-on, just soft Lock-on too and I hate how the Melee is so unsatisfying to use as there's no way to tell if you did damage at all. Either way the game is amazing and I don't recommend fighting the Quadrupeds in the Accumulation Zone (the Tumor Area) because they literally one shot you at close range.

Lots of things feel clunky, the areas feel underpolished, and it's copying dark souls' homework so hard it did something. The atmosphere is the strongest part of the game, and the level design feels good, and even inspired in some places. The parts where they have hidden passages, shortcuts, and items are copying dark souls well, it's one of the strongest things about the games. But it feels like they did a shoddy job of it. Like, this game has hard souls desipte the fact that you don't lose floating souls when you die.

Swords in particular have really janky hitboxes that feel bad. This game has potential, the demo was really cool. But overall I don't think it's much better than the demo. The bossfights feel boring, it doesn't feel like they put any effort into them at all. To compare to a souls game, even the worst souls boss is better than these. These are just repetitive and not skill-testing. I also don't like how thrusters don't affect your jump or hover, despite appearing to be in use during those animations. It seems like this is entirely controlled by the mobility module, which, from what I can tell, is only the part that touches the ground for normal movement and gliding.

8.5/10.I enjoyed this much more than I thought I would, considering the developer's track record has basically been just Visual Novels. Dolls Nest played like a mixture of Armored Core and a Souls game, with environments that heavily reward exploration and a combat pacing that was "slow" (compared especially to AC6) but still sharp and rewarding. Visually, it was a fun anime cybernetic romp. Soundtrack was pleasant, gameplay was fun, maps were varied and had some cool surprises, the sidequests were standard Souls faire. My only real complaint is that the melee weapons seem kind of... nonfunctional, half the time. They get really wonky with hitboxes and just don't work, which feels pretty bad when you go for a kill, miss, and get shredded by enemy fire because of it.

A mix of Demon's Souls with old Armored Core and Busou Shinki: Battle Masters Mk.2 (or Frame Arms Girls, if you've never heard of the former), yet still with its own identity. The game isn't perfect, but I see a lot of promise, considering the company's track record and what has been done in this game.

Made by Nitro Plus, a company that has made almost exclusively visual novels to date. I really liked all the ones I played, so I already had a level of trust in them, even though I didn't expect this from them.

The world structure and level design are very similar to Demon's Souls: a hub for NPCs and access between areas, areas that are well interconnected with several natural shortcuts (some not so natural) to checkpoints, all of which are part of a single megastructure. The areas are all huge, making you walk long distances, which can be tedious for some people, but I didn't see a problem with that since it's a megastructure and you need plenty of space for combat, as almost all enemies use weapons with some range and a sniper build only makes sense if you have space to shoot at long distances.

The combat, movement, and other systems are a bit rigid, but consistent with each other. They may be a little strange for those who expect the fluidity and simplification of modern souls-likes, but I prefer it this way, as it seems to me that the devs, instead of copying Elden Ring and other DS systems, made game systems that would make sense within the world they created.

The customization of the doll is good, with various upgradable weapons and parts so you can build however you want, even melee, as bad as it may seem. I feel that some parts are less effective than others, or I just couldn't find the right situation for them to shine, but nothing is bad per se, even melee, as bad as it may seem. As for the visuals, it would never be a dress-up game, as combat equipment necessarily takes precedence over aesthetic parts, but the variety of clothes, hair, and faces available is good, with body and color adjustments also expanding the customization possibilities.

It doesn't have a super deep, detailed story like FromSoftware games (or maybe I haven't gotten that far yet), but it doesn't interfere with your progress or enjoyment of the other parts of the game either.

O jogo não é perfeito, mas vejo muita promessa, considerando o histórico da empresa e o que foi feito nesse jogo.

Feito pela Nitro Plus, uma empresa que fez, quase exclusivamente, visual novels até hoje. Todas que joguei, gostei muito, então já tinha um nível de confiança neles, mesmo não esperando isso deles.

A estrutura do mundo e o level design são bem similares a Demon's Souls: um hub pra NPCs e acesso entre as áreas, áreas bem interconectadas com vários atalhos naturais (alguns não tão naturais) para os checkpoints, tudo isso sendo parte de uma única megaestrutura. As áreas são todas enormes fazendo você andar logas distâncias, o que pode ser entediante pra algumas pessoas, mas não vi problema com isso por se tratar de uma megaestrutura e ser necessário ter bastante espaço para o combate, pois quase todos os inimigos usam armas com algum alcance e uma build de sniper só faz sentido se você tem espaço pra atirar à longas distâncias.

O combate, movimento e outros sistemas são um pouco rígidos, mas congruentes entre si. Isso pode ser um pouco estranhos pra quem espera a fluidez e simplificação de souls-likes modernos, mas prefiro assim, pois isso me parece que os devs, ao invés de copiar Elden Ring e os outros sistemas de de DS, fizeram sistemas de jogo que fariam sentido dentro do mundo que eles criaram.

A customização da boneca é boa, com várias armas e partes com upgrades pra vocês fazer o tipo de build que você quiser, até melee, por pior que pareça. Sinto que algumas partes são pouco eficazes comparadas com outras, ou eu simplesmente não consegui encontrar a situação pra elas brilharem, mas nada é ruim, até melee, por pior que pareça. Quanto ao visual, nunca chegaria a ser um jogo de dress-up, os equipamentos de combate obrigatóriamente supersedem e têm prioridade às partes estéticas, mas a variedade de roupas, cabelos e rostos presente é boa, com os ajustes de corpo e cores também expandem as possibilidades de customização.

Não tem uma história super profunda e cheia de detalhes como as coisas da FromSoftware (ou eu não fui super à fundo ainda), mas ela também não interfere no seu progresso ou divertimento com as outras partes do jogo.

Could be an incredible game, but at the moment it’s barely mediocre. It’s got decent ideas (all of which were stolen from better games - see Dark Souls and the Armored Core series for more), but lacks good execution to make those ideas work.

The game is horribly confusing and finding the right path/actions is impossible (not difficult, actually impossible) without outside help. The devs clearly wanted a Souls-like experience for the players but included none of the features that makes the Souls experience pleasurable instead of frustrating, and this game is IMMENSELY frustrating. I’m heavily relying on guides and walkthroughs and there’s STILL stuff that’s impossible to figure out.

The game is very challenging, and despite being a Soulsborne and Armored Core veteran I do not mean that as a compliment. The combat is ok but deeply flawed and much clunkier than the better games it is copying. This feels much more like a public beta than anything approaching a finished game. The challenge should come from the enemies, the combat, things that force you to adapt your builds or develop your skills to counter them. Unfortunately the enemies are a joke and the combat is extremely single note. The only challenge in this game is trying to figure out where the ♥♥♥♥ you’re supposed to go or what you’re supposed to do, and good luck figuring that out.

The inability to fly is a HUGE problem, and you will quickly be bored and frustrated by the “jump as high as you can and then glide for a bit” mechanic that, 4 hours in, serves no functional purpose whatsoever and only makes me miss the Armored Core controls that much more. Likewise, where in some of the larger Armored Core levels running out of ammo becomes a risk, even with stingy ammo management it is quite literally impossible to clear even the first area in this game before you run out of anything to shoot with and are forced to return to the checkpoint. I don’t have to explain why repeatedly making it 80% of the way through and having to go back to the start is not fun or enjoyable in the slightest.

There are also features that I’m not sure are meant to be features, or if they are again just indicative of poor development. Lighting is a problem throughout the game so far, and there are areas where there are holes in the ground you can fall through. When these areas are in shadow, they are completely invisible. However, when you enter the shadow as well and the lighting adjusts, it becomes clearly visible. This is either poor development or an intentional feature to force you to move slower and more carefully, but either way it’s terrible in execution and needs to be addressed.

I want to love this game so bad, there’s a lot of potential gold here buried in the ♥♥♥♥. But I really don’t feel like this game was ready for release and it needs a LOT of work to make it worth your time and money.

Fantastic game, dark and at the same time it allures to explore.
Would do fantastically with more story expansion or more areas... likewise possibly a form of multiplayer to allow people to co-op missions or to test their skills against one another.
Only thing that needs to be added to, is simply a sequel or pre-sequel- something to explain more into the background or the mystery behind the new tree in the depths... I wont say more for spoilers but those who know will understand.

I've been looking for something to wash away the huge disappointment that Armored Core: Rubicon turned out to be and THIS is it. This game goes where many mecha games can't reach and you should give it a proper chance.

The pros:

[*] The world, despite being quite concentrated, comprehends a nice amounts of scenarios and enemies to fight against, explore, seek secrets and new weaponry to build even more different playing styles,
[*] It's enjoyable, it's fun, it's pretty damn well made,
[*] As any good Soul game, side quests will open up through your actions and will compensate you with pleasant and/or unpleasant surprises,
[*] It runs smooth and it plays very very well,
[*] Something that I don't remember seeing in other mecha titles: it simulates weight and turn-speed in a very personal and satisfying way,
[*] Right atmospheres in most areas you'll be visiting,
[*] Highly replayable. [NG+], more runs are needed to find all the goodies, to maximize some stats and I personally found it highly fun to do so. I finished the game 4 times and a 5th one is in progress.

[*] Perhaps I did notice, as some others said, the game being a little too easy. A hard difficulty was added, can be accessed and turn off right away. You can customize your experience in tons of ways but I guess that's fair to point out.
[*] Some weapons will simply be completely useless while others will be extremely efficient. This might limitate your builds and/or your roleplaying ideas.

キーボード・マウスでプレイ。
操作感もよく、十分おすすめできるゲーム。

装備品にあたるパーツ類は武器に個性的なものが多い印象。
良くも悪くも大雑把な作りなので、何かに固執すると苦労するかも。

値段のわりに楽しめました。
敵はあまり強くないので高難度モードがおすすめです。

AC6の操作感をデチューンして探索ゲーにぶち込んだように感じるゲーム。
探索ゲーのくまなく探す面白さとロボットゲーのアセンの面白さが両方味わえるのがとても良い。
無限湧きで高速で追跡してくる毒ショットガン虫には恨み言を言いたくなるが、まあ特定の敵に対するヘイトの高さはソウルライクの慣例と言えなくもないし、許せる…いや、許せんぞ虫どもが…探索の邪魔しやがって…POPレート高すぎんだろ…

とても楽しめました、かなり良い出来です

このゲームを簡潔に記すなら
　ダークソウル+アーマードコア+二瓶勉ぽい世界+萌え寄りのキャラ　
です

ゲーム性はダークソウルだと思ってください
それをアーマードコアの機体でやります
キャラのLVアップ要素は少しは有りますが、ほぼ無いと思って良いです
機体の構成とパーツの強化具合が強さを決めます
ですが最も強さの要素を決めるのは敵、もしくはマップとの相性です
対ボスは勿論雑魚との戦闘もパーツの構成で難易度が恐ろしく変わります
ただし、本家ダークソウルやエルデンに比べてボスはかなり弱いです
アクションが苦手でもちゃんと機体を組めばまず楽勝程度に勝てます

マップ構成はとても良く出来ていて、エリアごとのマップになるんですが
ショートカットが頻繁に開通し、特にボス戦リトライはかなりやり易くなってます
落下は即死では無く一定のダメージを受けて近くに復帰します

舞台は機械化世界で二瓶勉先生の漫画がモチーフでは、な感じで荒涼としてます
反面、キャラが萌えアニメ系かつボイス付きでちょっとギャップ有です
萌え系なのにそこに流れるＮＰＣのストーリーはダークな香りがプンプンします
私はデモンズやダークソウルっぽいなと感じました

気になった点
　装備変更が特定の場所でしか出来ないのはダメかな
武器の付け替えは普通に出来るようにして欲しかった
　自動ターゲットや注視機能が弱い
AC6形式で良かったんじゃないかな
　デフォルトだとNPCの音声レベルが小さい
オプションで変更するまでよく聞こえなかった
　グラフィックスがやっぱり弱い
予算の都合でしょうが、やっぱビッグタイトルに比べれば
チープさが見え隠れします

総評
価格も安く、セールで無くても買って損はないです
というかみんな買ってください
ほんとに面白く、楽しかったです
ヒットすれば２が出るかもしれない
