Dead Rising

I would highly recommend playing this game in 2026. (Played last yr) The story is amazing, gameplay mechanics are easy to learn. So many weapons to choose from, can either throw at zombie or keep it in your inventory. I love using the camera when theres a zombie horde. I love the way the psychopaths are designed. I also love riding a bicycle during the zombie apocalypse. Its extremely fun and i will be playing dead rising 2 and 3. I completed dead rising 4 that game is also amazing. This game is worth purchasing. Even if this game released in 2006, it still hold up. I hope to play the remaster and experience it all over again. 9.7/10

おバカゲーとシリアスを混ぜた傑作ゾンビパニックアクションゲー

操作性良し、爽快感良し、ストーリー良し、音楽良し、キャラ良し。

カプコン及びゾンゲーヒストリアの中でも大きい印象を与えた作品ではないでしょうか
筆者はXbox360でニ度実績コンプしてて、当時はレッドリングデスで地獄を見てた。

今回は
PC版なので、そういうことが起こるのはプレイヤーのPCスペック次第なのと
例の７日間生存実績（ゲーム終了せず１４時間以上起動強いられるサバイバル実績
も、体力減ったら狩りをして安全地帯で引きこもって　無くなってきたら狩りを再開して
ってプレイがデキたので。　実績関係でもだいぶ優しくなった体感あります。
PCモニター２つあれば動画見ながらリラックス放置できるしね。

プレイしてた当時は高嶺の花だったグロ無修正版なのもニジュウマル。

コレは遊んでおいて損はないぞー！　リメイク版は未プレイだけどサイコパス戦BGMが殆ど消されてるのは利権関係なんかなぁって　
私事だけど初めてゲームサントラ買った作品でもある。

追伸、自分がプレイした時は無修正だった記憶だったが
どうやらちょっと事情が変わってるらしいので訂正です。
他の方々のレビューで回避方法あるっぽい。

I dont usually speak for big titles because i like to raise the voice in the more lesser known games, but to this day i still find people that dont know about this game's existence, but heres my words or word..

Thats all i have to say. One of the Classic Zombie Titles back in the early 2000s, the Xbox 360 era. I remember i played the 2nd one, Dead Rising 2, before playing the first game, If you wanna delve into one of the most legendary zombie titles, Dead Rising is one worthy to pick up, This was made by CAPCOM, same people that made Resident Evil, so you know they cooked. Unfortunately Dead Rising didnt catch into the spotlight more often than its more successful titles, the franchise was certainly behind the curtains for the more niche audience.

'Original' is gonna be the big word for this entry specifically, for all the Zombie followers out there, this is the big dream scenario of 'A Zombie Apocalypse just started and you're trapped in a Shopping Mall' everything is at your disposal, walk into any store and start picking and wearing everything you find. I remember the game really expressed itself on using EVERYTHING as a weapon, you can pick up an entire Park Bench and swing it around as a weapon, Zombies in this game are expendable, they are easy to kill but they are always the persistent threat throughout the entire game as you explore and follow the narrative of the story.

Of course throughout the game, you level up, unlock new skill moves, increase in stats via Health, Damage and Speed, this make making a path to your next goal more easier, making it trivial to survive against the undead, but then comes Psychopath encounters, human bosses that can potentially one shot you even in the beginning of the game and be sure to save often! Because theres no Auto-save in this original, the game will always keep throwing more and more new threats.

Dead Rising has neeever been known for its difficulty however, it has a very laid back playstyle, a 'do whatever you want' playground freedom.. although just make sure not to miss your main story missions, the time scope can be reaaaallly tight if you're not carefully spending your minutes escorting a survivor allll the way back to the safehouse.

The port here itself is good! I'd stamp it with approval, a recommendation I would say.. Perhaps use a controller?... That is if you wanna pull off all the tricky skill moves Frank unlocks down the line, or you can master the art of keyboard controls, its possible, but be warned some of them have some realllly wonky activations if i recalled, and its like a milisecond of pressing two keys at the same time.

Don't sleep on this one because of the generic zombie name, like I did. This is a wonderfully cheesy, flawed and, above all, a charming game. The premise is that you're locked in a mall with zombies for 72 hours (one in-game minute = 5 actual seconds) and you can use anything found in the mall as a weapon against the hordes, while completing missions. It's enormously fun to weaponize benches, potted plants, mannequins, TVs, power tools, bowling balls, plywood panels, lawn mowers and whatever else you can find. I also the realized how much I like X360/PS3-era graphics - somewhat realistic, yet videogamey and very clean and readable.

Excellent on the Steam Deck. Last time I played this was on the 360, so playing it at 60fps was revelatory. Even if it seems like some of the game logic is tied to frame rate. Not too much of an issue.

Es un juego un tanto simple y corto pero divertido. Digo simple porque al ser el primer juego de la saga realmente no hay mucha variedad de misiones y digo corto porque el juego tiene un sistema de tiempo hasta que te vienen a rescatar (que pasa rápido comparado con el tiempo real). Todas las misiones principales y creo que la mayoría de secundarias van con tiempo, y no llegar a empezar una misión antes de que se termine hace que la pierdas

El mapa tampoco es muy grande pero luego de haberme terminado la historia siento que tiene mucho más para ofrecer de lo que puedas llegar a ver. Como es un centro comercial hay multitud de tiendas de diferente tipo y cada vez que entres en una te podés encontrar bastante variedad de objetos (desde armas, comida o hasta cambiarte de ropa). No te da tampoco mucho tiempo a explorar si es que querés llegar a hacer la mayor cantidad de misiones que puedas. La banda sonora a pesar de no ser tan variada pega bastante con la ambientación. En cuanto a la parte gráfica lo vi bastanta bien para los años que tiene aunque no es algo en lo que suela tampoco fijarme mucho

La mecánica del tiempo no me terminó de convencer del todo porque siento que no está bien diseñada. Hay algunos momentos en la historia principal en los que tenés mucho tiempo libre entre caso y caso (así se llaman los capítulos) para hacer misiones secundarias, pero la mayor parte de la historia te la tenés que rushear masomenos por el poco tiempo que te dan entre que la misión se libera hasta que podés empezar a hacerla (a veces vas al escondite a guardar y preferís quedarte ahí hasta que la misión empiece aunque tengas que esperar porque no vas a llegar a hacer otra cosa antes y después volver). Por eso es que tampoco podés explorar el mapa mucho más aunque sea chico

Me da la sensación de que tenés que saber administrar bastante bien el tiempo y que es probable que tengas que perder y volver a comenzar la partida con el progreso que ya tenías un par de veces (me pasó). Esto porque hay una opción pensada para esto en que podés empezar la historia de nuevo pero tener el nivel que habías acumulado hasta ese momento, y como a medida que avanzas de nivel te hacés más "fuerte" se te facilita por ejemplo en las peleas (además que una de las mejoras es que corres más rápido y eso en un juego que va por tiempo es clave)

Si no sabés administrar el tiempo del todo bien y te rusheas la historia (aunque siento que medio que el juego te "obliga" a hacerlo) te puede pasar que te quedes con una banda de horas libres una vez que termines todos los casos y tengas que esperar a que se cumplan las 72 horas haciendo cualquier cosa. Podría ser un momento para aprovechar para explorar pero lo cierto es que en ese punto el mapa se llena de soldados que aguantan una bocha de disparos/golpes y te pueden insta-deletear si entre varios te empiezan a disparar (no es que te matan pero el minijuego que tenés que hacer para escapar es una chota y cada vez que te equivocas perdés un montón de tiempo)

La parte final del juego no me gustó (una vez que completás todos los casos). Al principio no sabía bien qué hacer y el juego tampoco te lo dice pero en realidad era que había avanzado "demasiado" rápido y tenía que dejar el tiempo pasar (lo que comenté antes). Aunque en ese lapso estuve yendo y viniendo de ambos escondites pensando que alguna cinemática iba a salir. En un momento te piden ir a un escondite en específico solo para una conversación y sale una cinemática que te da a entender que ya soldados no hay y zombies tampoco (queda el lugar vacío cuando volves al helipuerto) pero cuando empieza el modo prórroga (el que sale al terminar las 72 horas) siguen estando tantos soldados como zombis y te hacen hacer unas misiones extrañas para reunir materiales. Después de eso siguen unas partes rarísimas que no voy a spoilear y termina en una pelea que me pareció la peor del juego (solo la pude pasar spameando ataques)

Algunas de las peleas con psicópatas que pude hacer me parece que no tenían mucho sentido y el enemigo era mucho más fuerte de lo normal (y hasta te podían hacer una seguidilla de ataques en las que no tenías posibilidad de defenderte). Por otro lado me dio la sensación de que solo podés hacerles daño en ciertos momentos y no siempre

Dicho esto no me pareció malo en sí y la historia tampoco está mal, solo hay que acostumbrarse al sistema de tiempo y alguna que otra misión paja. Es muy rejugable eso sí ya que es poco probable que cuando te lo pases por primera vez alcances a hacer todo

One of the best zombie apocalypse games ever made. It's insane that this game was made in 2006 for Xbox 360.

The real time system, survivor mechanics, and fun gameplay were all part of what made Dead Rising so special. And how the game rendered so many zombies on screen at one time for a game made in 2006 is still so impressive even today.

I still remember watching dawn of the dead remake (2004) and then thinking if someone ever made a game like it, it would be so damn cool. Dead Rising basically was that game and it's still holds up better than most AAA games do even now. It's one of those game that leaves a lasting impact on you after playing especially for a zombie game.

On February 3rd 2026 Capcom released an update that removed Denuvo, a DRM which requires a costant internet connection, and replaced it with the Enigma Protector. This DRM is supposed to prevent "cheating" (any kind of modding of the game) and it's russian developed.
Tested by the Youtube channel Digital Foundry in the video "Resident Evil 4 PC: Is New DRM Impacting Game Performance?" has been found that the Enigma Protector DRM causes an average of -10% in framerate drops, with dips of -40% in certain scenarios, way more than the original Denuvo DRM.

This is not the first time that Capcom decided to put Enigma in some of their older games: RE Revelations suffered major backlash from customers because of the major dip in perfomance, so much so they had to remove Enigma from the game for good and recently they released the original Dino Crisis series on Steam, a quick scouring of the forum will reveal a lot of customers unhappy with the perfomance of said games. Why a 25 years old single player game that should run flawlessly on a phone had to be "protected" against "cheating" is everyone's guess, especially when you realise that a GOG version of both games was already available, without the Enigma Protector and without issues.

Here's my grievances with it:

-Retroactively degrading perfomances of a game or a product is an unethical and fundamentally anti-consumer practice that should be illegal. Imagine your car having less hp out of nowhere because the car company decided to update the software that way

-Capcom degraded the game for no reasons at all, Enigma Protector doesn't prevent cheats or mods in any capable way and it's openly mocked by the mod communities

-All Capcom's game that have been "protected" by Enigma suffered of significant perfomance loss and the DRM can be easily removed by the cracking scene. The customer is therefore presented with this funny scenario: would you rather download the game for free or pay money for a degraded version that runs worst than the pirated copy?

-There's a very likely possibility that in future all Capcom's games will eventually incorporate the Enigma DRM years after launch, the system that you used to play them could eventually not being capable of the same perfomance as before, forcing some to spend money on very costly upgrades (due to the AI craze)

-The DRM is russian developed, profits from the company are most likely to be used in the ongoing russian invasion of Ukraine. This is not only unethical per-se but raises security questions for all the countries where the governments are actively funding the ukranian defense: Russia is well known to use cyber warfare against its enemies, I personally don't want anything russian developed in my system

-Enigma Protector devs in the past have behaved very unprofessionally, mocking and insulting whoever questioned the validity of their practices and their work, raising more than one red flag on the true purpose of their work and their true intent

I don't know who and why at Capcom signed a contract for this to happen but they clearly got scammed and it's time for them cope with it. I will leave a negative review on all my Capcom products and maybe I will revert them if they abandon Enigma altogether. Just maybe though, I'm kind of fed up on AAA publishers malpractices.

I was alive(I think?)in 2k6, and never touched this one. Heard things, saw a little, shrugged and life carried on. Coming back to try this in a different epoch has been.....I don't even know what to put here. Had I played this atrocity back then, I might have wondered if there had been some sort of mass hysteria induced around this game as some manner of bizarre DARPA project tested on the public.

First, Frank West and his doofy face and even doofier voice acting put me off immediately. The guy who is a professional photographer can't figure out you can get a little strap for that damn camera? Okay, but is that thing the density of osmium as well? He runs with all the grace of an octogenarian in perpetual need of a bathroom. THIS is what I'm driving for hours?

Okay, well, at least there are a lot of rotties and annoying goobers(survivors; clearly named with a terrific sense of situational irony)to focus on, so let's turn their direction. I'm sure I'm preaching to at least some some of the choir here, but golly, these imbeciles cannot wait to be ingested by one of horror's favorite cliches. Their fearless dedication to getting immediately mobbed and eaten is truly impressive. Then again, were I trapped in this slander against amusement, I'd likely exit stage left as fast as I could, too.

Fine. So, what about wandering around mangling the moldering masticators? Marginally interesting for about ten minutes. There are plenty of things to smash enemies with, yet none of it feels good or sustains motivation, which is a real problem for a game where Blank Frank needs to level up. I got bored more often than not beating the gooey ghouls, even before whatever I was using broke.

Yeah, Yeah, there's the timer and you need to find some keys to access this or that area and wowee, the story scenes are so garish and punishingly bland that I feel a sense of self-preservation in sparing myself the Faustian burden of having to bear witness to any more than I've already suffered.

There were plenty of games around in 2006, so what the hell was in the water that people latched onto this one? I guess it's just another piece of the cultural puzzle too arcane for my feeble mind. I think I'm gonna play something more engaging, with better characters and great replayability. Solitaire, here I come!

I own Dead Rising on my XBox 360, and was playing the game with my niece, because she wanted to see some of the games I played back in the day. We had so much fun, I ended up buying it again on PC. The game is hilarious and fun. She is now a fan of Frank West, and bought a Frank West t-shirt to sport her new favorite zombie game. I am getting her into Resident Evil next, the original from Playstation.

DEAD RISING is one of those games that fits the horror genre perfectly and no one realizes it
Capcom always has had that 2000s perfection to them which just shows that capcom cared more for this franchise then today

The AI for the survivors in this game sucks i know its a game from 2006 but what i do not understand is how do survivors aim for a plant to get stuck in out of all objects in the game they decide to get stuck into a plant
what i do like is how survivors aim with weapons in example i gave a survivor a submachine gun and they perfected every shot
Now the good thing is capcom atleast made a goal mark system cuz if there wasnt one i wouldve never ever had survivors
overall this game is sincerely a capcom hidden gem for now

This is the best version of the game (unlike that slop remaster or how they called it) and it runs like a charm on modern hardware.

It is a bit hard at the beginning, especially if you are not familiar with time-expiring missions or the basic meta of the game but after some trials and errors the game just clicked to me.

The only cons (and probably pro too) i could say, aside from the bad AI with the survivors and some unbalanced boss fights, is that there would probably never be a game like this...

Dead Rising уникальная игра с продуманной механикой и оригинальным геймплеем.
Главная особенность ограничение в 72 часа игрового времени, что делает игру увлекательной.
Игрок вынужден планировать и продумывать каждое действия «кто где соснул х..», продумывать маршруты и тактику.
Так же приятно, что почти все окружение интерактивно видь мы в торговом центре!!!! Можешь уничтожать зомби почти всем к примеру можешь взять телевизор или мусорку, газонокосилка, грабли, DVD диски, драгоценности, плюшевым медведем, игрушечным вертолетиком, коробками, водяным пистолетом, вешалкой, чей-то рукой, манекеном, ножницами обычными и садовыми, горчицей и кетчупом, бензопилой, огнестрелом, банками с краской, шаром для боулинга и т.д. и начать месить орды зомби заполонивших все вокруг!!!!! И могу сказать с уверенностью, что здесь это делать очень приятно ты прям в этот момент чувствуешь себя героем Ходячих мертвецов который прыгнул в орду этих монстров. Я играл много в зомби игры но такого большого количества зомби не видел ни в одной игре! Где они буквально на каждом шагу что уж говорить в игре есть достижение за убийство 53000 зомби! И его можно получить за одно прохождение.
Система прокачки персонажа тоже интересная опыт зарабатывается за уничтожение зомби и спасение выживших. Взаимодействие с выжившими добавляет сложность например, для убеждения японских туристов нужен переводчик иначе они вас не поймут, да и когда они пойдут с вами не все смогут дойти до убежища. Психопаты это местные боссы и они вам запомнятся! Это Мега не обычные враги особенно для игр жанра зомби апокалипсиса где ты привык к тому, что обычно вылазить какие нибудь мутанты и т.д. Но тут это простые люди которые немного поехали кукухой:) самые запоминающиеся как по мне это Вьетнамские флешбэки, Пеннивайз, продавец пятёрочки, тетя Зина и Си Цзиньпин «их зовут по другому ну я забыл их имена» и к каждому нужен свой подход и тактика! Игра так же Мега реиграбильная, да и буду честен она выезжает чисто на реиграбильность и очень сильной геймплейной части. Сюжет тут существует для галочки! А не как в том же Одни из нас где сюжет являлся сильной стороной игры!
В игре около 5 концовок не считая особой овертайм. Первое прохождение не позволяет успеть всё в силу того что персонаж ещё такой лошок не прокаченный, опушённый, что делает повторные прохождения интересными. Так же вы научитесь менеджменту благодаря таймеру, который выполнил в стиле страха любого Зумера в виде часов со стрелками БЕЗ ЦИФОРОК!!!!Люди и враги появляются в определённое время из-за чего если вы пропустите их по времени то все! Они просто испарятся или умрут или ещё что-то. Я помню даже видел в интернете как некоторые игроки могут за одно прохождение открыть овертайм, убить более 53000 зомби и победить всех психопатов.
Сложность сравнима с Dark Souls тем что в начали пути тебе очень сложно, но потом ты привыкаешь и думаешь «каким я был нубом»
Dead Rising это уникальный опыт в жанре зомби игр. Игра требует стратегического мышления и четко продуманных действий и подходит любителям нестандартных решений в играх.

I was never super interested in the franchise for many years being afraid of the timer so I'd watch YouTube videos of all the cutscenes over and over again before I finally decided to give it a go and I am glad I did. Running around a big mall bashing zombies left and right wont ever be boring to me and I got to listen to some nice mall tunes while I'm at it, the story was good and I miss Brad everyday but the only issue this game is the survivor AI. Atp it's not AI because they don't do ANYTHING other than be caught by the undead and slowly die off if your not spamming your let's go button next to them, they are genuinely a pain in the ass especially the couple next to Adam the clown or the guy who demands every piece of food before he decides he'll go with you to safety!
Other than that I freaking loved it!

I first remember playing Dead Rising when it originally came out on the Xbox 360 and the hours of fun and entertainment that the game brought me will always be a cherished memory. But as someone who is now achievement hunting, this once beautiful dream of a game turned into a nightmare. Some achievements were as easy as pie to get, while others were some of the most tedious and time‑consuming I’ve ever sought after. One achievement demanded that I stay at the computer for a full 14 hours of non-stop playing, all while paying enough attention to it that I didn't die due to a zombie eating my face off or having Frank just starve because he hadn't had a sip of chocolate milk in the last 30 minutes. Another achievement required me to listen through all of Otis's droning through the walkie-talkie, praying that I didn't accidentally miss one. (Which did happen and forced me to do an additional playthrough.) Plenty of the achievements seemed like they would be a challenge, but they were only a challenge due to the game's horrible AI. The companions could make or break a lot of these attempts and it was more often a break due to how braindead their actions would be. Gun to my head, take a zombie bite to the face or have to get all the achievements in Dead Rising again, I'd obviously do all the achievements again. But there would be a lot of consideration on getting bit and ending all my suffering.

Even if the remastered version is out there this is still a great alternative to start the Dead Rising franchise without spending extra money for pretty graphics and extra changes if you don't want to.

Solid, entertaining and with a considerable amount of playtime.

Check a guide as often as needed. The only problem with this game is the timer main missions have to complete them. A couple will soft lock your game if you don't finish them with extra time to spend so just finish the main missions first (case files) and then enjoy the side missions.

It's a pretty good game, solid premise and gameplay, but some parts have not aged well such as some of the psychopaths and survivor AI (it pissed me off so much). Ending was kind of disappointing, but hopefully some of my questions will get answered as I play through the trilogy.

I'd recommend this if you want something to play quickly or just to mess around with the sandbox features.

Przez 80% mojego czasu z tą grą, chciałem dać jej pozytywa.
Jasne, jest ona skrajnie nie fair. Zresztą, czego się spodziewać po grze, która w sumie zakłada, że w którymś momencie nie damy już rady i zaczniemy swoistą nową grę+ w środku gry (tak, jest taka możliwość; zaczynamy grę od nowa i zachowujemy poziomy Franka, co przekłada się na bardzo istotne rzeczy jak udźwig czy ilość punktów życia).
Tylko, że nie to jest problemem tej gry. Można ją spokojnie przejść w jednym podejściu, bez restartu z zachowanym poziomem postaci. Nie jest to aż tak trudne, o ile pogodzimy się z faktem, że zawalimy część pobocznych misji (tak jak i główne misje mają limit czasowy, a przy pierwszym podejściu nie znamy skrótów, ich odpowiedniej kolejności robienia, użyteczniejszych broni itd.). Też nie mam z tym problemu, wręcz ta swoista nieliniowość (gra ma jakieś 5 zakończeń) to trochę istota tej serii.

To z czym mam bardzo duży problem to ostatnie kilka godzin gry, a szczególnie tzw. Overtime Mode, czyli swego rodzaju epilog. Raz, że jest on kompletnie pozbawiony pobocznych misji. Dwa, że na tym etapie jesteśmy już tak mocni, że dalsze bieganie robi się nudne i łatwe. Ewidentnie brakło pomysłu i/lub budżetu, żeby wypełnić ten czas jakąkolwiek realną zawartością.

No i to z czym mam największy problem to mega irytująca finalna walka z bossem. Nie będę spoilerował, ale jakbyście się czuli, gdyby grając w Need For Speed, zdobywając i tuningując extra brykę, na finalny wyścig ktoś wam ją zabrał po czym kazałby się ścigać z przeciwnikiem w Ferrari rowerem? Tak to tu wygląda. W dodatku nie ma opcji powtórki tej walki. Po każdej przegranej musimy wczytywać ostatni zapis i dotarcie do tego bossa zawsze zajmie jakieś 5-10 minut minimum, jak w jakimś bieda Dark Soulsie.

Podsumowując, gra zaczęła się super, ale absolutnie brakło pary na zakończenie, co jest trochę dziwne u Capcomu, bo osoby które grały w Resident Evil czy Devil May Cry wiedzą, że zakończenia zazwyczaj robią epickie.

Stressant, absurde, impitoyable… et culte

Dead Rising ne fait aucune concession.
Il te balance dans un centre commercial infesté de zombies, te donne un appareil photo, une barre de vie fragile, une horloge qui tourne en permanence, et te dit clairement : débrouille-toi.

Le génie du jeu, c’est cette pression constante. Le temps est ton pire ennemi. Impossible de tout faire, impossible de sauver tout le monde. Chaque décision compte, chaque détour se paie. Et c’est précisément ça qui rend l’expérience aussi mémorable. Tu ne joues pas un héros invincible, tu joues un journaliste dépassé par les événements.

Le gameplay est volontairement rigide, parfois frustrant, mais cohérent avec l’intention : survivre dans le chaos. Les armes improvisées, les boss complètement barrés, l’humour noir omniprésent et cette liberté étrange donnent une identité unique au jeu, encore aujourd’hui.

Dead Rising 1, c’est un jeu qui te maltraite, mais qui te marque.
Une œuvre imparfaite, mais audacieuse, qui a osé faire confiance au joueur… et lui dire non quand il échoue.

Un classique brutal, exigeant, inoubliable.

not really into zombie games unless its Resident Evil, but besides that, this game was very enjoyable but also extremely difficult in the beginning, not due to the zombies, but more about beating the clock. I essentially soft locked myself in the first playthrough, because I kept running out of time when it came to Isabella's boss fight on the motorcycle because I showed up late overall.

So a huge tip for any first time players of Dead Rising, PRIORITIZE the main missions first, forget about trying to save everyone, it's not worth it, it takes up too much of your energy and importantly your time. When you are extremely certain that you have good amount of a time gap, then that's when it's ok to explore and save survivors, but always keep that as a secondary, so pretty much ignore Odin, because he is annoying and will mess up your entire flow of the game.

My stepdad had this game on Xbox360 when I was younger and I was obsessed with it. Could not get past day one, and I randomly encountered the clown boss one time and had nightmares for years. I only really set my mind to finish it recently and it’s actually a really good game. The vibes are just unmatched. There’s this mix of early 2000’s cheese and aesthetics, with very real horror. The game still stresses me out with the time mechanic and bad survivor AI, and paired with the weird silence in some areas and the echoey, generic mall music in others… it can be super unsettling. I don’t really like the other Dead Rising games, and maybe it’s a nostalgia thing, but I think they lean more into the comedy side of things, when the drama of this first entry was pretty good.

Dead Rising é um port lançado em 2006 para PC em 2016. Quando foi lançado exclusivo para xbox 360, fiquei impressionado a quantidade de zumbis que eles conseguiram colocar na mesma tela, cara...aquilo foi incrível na época, mas para vcs podem não achar e compro finalmente para PC original haha.

Vc controla Frank West que é um jornalista e fotógrafo que investiga uma pequena região que está dominada por zumbis e acaba entrando em um shopping gigante onde está lotado de zumbis, vc tem 72 horas para desvendar o acontecimento ( só mais 72 horas patriotas kkkkk).

A história é legal, a história vai depender do seu tempo pra contar, existe vários tipos de caminhos pra contar a histórias, quanto mais fizer certo, mais a revelação irá acontecer.

O impressionante é que cada loja tem armas, roupas (colocar um sutiã ou ficar de cuequinha para aparecer nas cutscenes hahaha), capacetes pra colocar na cabeças dos zumbis, comidas, materiais de construções e KATANA(machados, martelos, MOTOSERRA, atirador de pregos e etc), é praticamente quase um sandbox.

Introduz mecânica de tirar fotos ( também tirar uma selfie com zumbis) e também progresso de level, quanto mais vc mata zumbis vc ganha PP que é um tipo XP, seu personagem ganhas resistência como correr e aguentar tiros e mordidas e vários golpes. Durante o caminho, vc encontrará sobreviventes, vc tem opção de ignorar ajuda deles ou ajudar levar eles até uma sala segura e o interessante também é que uns deles estão infectados e onde vc levar eles em uma sala segura vão matar os outros sobreviventes...os sobreviventes podem convencer outro sobreviventes e formam um grupo para escapar desobedecendo vc a esperar chegar a ajuda ou uma uma discordância dos sobreviventes na sala segura que irá acabar tendo uma briga com todos...olha que mecânica legal que introduz.

o pior de tudo é o controle, não dá pra mirar e andar ao mesmo tempo, vc precisa parar pra atirar e seleção de armas ( precisamos lembrar que era 2006).

Sim, vale muito a pena pegar esse jogo, paguei nele por 9 reais baratinho em uma promoção, mas acredito que a Capcom aumentou o valor em todos os jogos dela.

La propuesta es simple y gloriosa: sobrevivir, rescatar gente, cumplir objetivos con reloj encima y convertir cualquier objeto ridículo en un arma improvisada. Porque claro, cuando llega el apocalipsis, lo lógico es pelear con lo que encuentres en la sección de jardinería.

La primera impresión es un caos controlado: hay cientos de muertos vivientes, rutas por explorar y una sensación constante de “me faltan manos y me sobra pánico”. Es un juego que te empuja a moverte, a decidir rápido y a aceptar que el centro comercial es básicamente un parque de diversiones… pero con gritos, sangre y decisiones cuestionables.

¿Vale la pena? Con 5530 recomendaciones totales, claramente mucha gente ya firmó el contrato de sangre. Eso sí, con 23 jugadores actuales, no esperes que esté en boca de todos hoy: es más bien ese clásico que los que saben… saben. Dead Rising me pareció un juego muy ambicioso y diferente a otros títulos de zombis. La idea de estar atrapado en un centro comercial con total libertad para explorar y usar casi cualquier objeto como arma es, sin duda, uno de sus mayores aciertos. Esa sensación de caos constante y creatividad es lo que más me enganchó.

Lo que más me marcó fue el sistema de tiempo. El reloj nunca se detiene y te obliga a tomar decisiones todo el tiempo: seguir la historia, rescatar supervivientes o simplemente sobrevivir. Esto le da mucha tensión al juego, pero también puede volverse frustrante, sobre todo al inicio, porque no siempre explica bien sus mecánicas y castiga bastante los errores.

En cuanto a la historia, mezcla sátira con momentos serios, aunque siento que no siempre logra equilibrar bien el tono. Algunos personajes se quedan cortos y la inteligencia artificial de los supervivientes suele ser torpe, lo que a veces rompe la experiencia.

En general, Dead Rising me parece un juego original y arriesgado. No es para todo el mundo, pero si aceptas sus reglas y tienes paciencia, ofrece una experiencia única, tan frustrante como gratificante.
