am using quest 3 and what i noticed in this game is everything is wrong ... the movement ,, the aim AND OMG THE AIM ,,, the acting ,,, the monsters . all of those are -6/10
but still ... i must say that the game have a lot of mods to play ... options and content as well .... but hell no for everything else
I had a lot of fun playing this game. It's older, and feels like the old track pad games with bumpy movement that almost looks like stuttering. But the game is very fun if you can ignore that. Kind of felt like Doom mixed with Borderlands. The game works very well as a VR game. I didn't play MP, but the single player is good enough on it's own. Lots of weapons to play around with. The missions can be played over and over and have side objectives to complete that you might have missed the first time around. I think the game is still worth it in 2026.

Не понравилось, что финальная сюжетная третья глава продается отдельно, как DLC.
Yes, but know what you're getting into.
Firstly, its not something like Dead Space (Though clearly inspired by) where you kind of move from one cohesive area to the next area with Drop In/Out Coop that 3 had, it plays more like a Hub Mission game. You have a main base of operation decorated with your allies who each serve a purpose (Gun Shop, Armor Shop, Exposition Bot, etc) and each NPC has their own little personality and its all voice acted well enough, though sometimes I wish I could just mute the MC because I do not like the words coming out of my mouth.
From this main hub, you select a mission from the Ship Menu, with I think 6 Different Mission types (Biohazard, Survival, etc) and Difficulty tiers, or a Main Story Mission if you're progressing that. Its a Loot grinder type game as far as endgame goes, but also a horde shooter with some fun enemy types to battle.
Now there is some roughness with the area. Its one of those games where you'll notice repeated rooms (Hallways mostly) here and there if you're paying attention. Feels like it was made by a small studio, but one that wanted to make a good game with the resources they had. You can see the corners cut but they did such a good job they're easily forgivable.
Theres multiple difficulty options and I found them quite fun, but I will say its mostly just "mindless zombie killing" where large swathes of enemies you kill are slow walking zombies, but with a few curve balls thrown in to keep stuff fresh(Some bosses have big guns, some throw grenades, you have soldier enemies who run and gun, stuff like that).
As far as progression goes, you level up, get new gear with new stats/bonuses on them, and you unlock new abilities ranging from Movement speed increases/stamina reductions, telekinesis, healing speed upgrades, etc. Theres a lot there but I didn't read them all, but its enough to definitely give you options and upgrades for a long time.
There are a lot of weapons that I found, from Shuriken, Pistol, Bows, Laser guns, AR's, shotguns, etc. A lot of classic weapon types, mostly ballistic, but I believe there were a few Sci-Fi options especially with the DLC characters and such. Weapons all have stats, Damage, Accuracy, Chip Upgrade Slots for unique effects to augment your weapons, as such, enemies also have Levels and HP pools to match, though aside from some "Big bosses", I didnt run into any "HP Sponge" Issues, all felt killable enough and Headshots give a big modifier so most Zombies would still explode to a headshot or two.
There is the downside others have mentioned in that the Story kind of ends halfway through and you have to buy DLC to finish it? So keep that in mind when you make your purchase.
Anyway, to make a long story short. Its a lot of kind of mindless fun, Arena Shooter-Ish Co-Op Missions, with a few different PVE game modes you can chose as "Missions" To level up, find new gear/upgrades/weapons, and theres also a more linear story mode you can do with friends (It unlocks when you unlock the main Mission menu after you beat Story Mission 2 for those wondering).
Its not something that blew my mind, but it was definitely a fun shooter experience I'll probably find myself coming back too from time to time, as there was a lot of satisfaction in the weapons and hit effects, which is all I ask for most of the time in a VR game... to just feel good shooting.
Takes a little to get used to but immense fun and flows well, which you cant always say about VR.

Мне нравится оригинальная игра, но VR версию не рекомендую. Quest 3, очень серьёзные проблемы с управлением. При игре сидя в кресле камера опускается почти до уровня пола, что не удобно. Но самое поганое что правый тачпад в игре просто мёртв, поворот только в виде поворота в реале. Не верю что игра обделена такой базовой функцией. Скорее всего просто игра вообще не оптимизирована под Quest 3, лишь под более старые модели.
Это выглядит как Dead Space но в VR очень похоже, мне нравится эта игра!

Dead Effect 2 è un FPS esteticamente vicino a Doom 3, ma se ne discosta nettamente per la grande quantità di nemici da affrontare, oltre che per una certa "approssimazione generale": Il feeling delle armi non è perfetto, come neanche le dinamiche di ricarica; l'uso degli oggetti sul corpetto a volte non va a buon fine; la trama è molto banale, e i personaggi che incontreremo a nostro supporto sono meno che mediocri. Però, nonostante i suoi difetti e la sua natura "grezza", il gioco si lascia giocare davvero con piacere, ci mette a disposizione moltissime armi diverse e vari potenziamenti che permettono di personalizzare la nostra partita. Poi visivamente è piuttosto ben fatto, anche considerando che è stato rilasciato nel 2017.
Se volete un FPS VR semplice e sufficientemente longevo, non vi deluderà.

Underappreciated old VR title. This is a port of a port of a mobile game. While the implementation of its VR mechanics is pretty barebones, it stands out as one of the few totally complete original action RPGs that you can play in VR. It's a personal favorite of mine even if it isn't a superb or even really good in a lot of aspects, and if you're tired of VR games that feel short, gimmicky, or narrow in scope, then this one may be worth trying.
Dead Effect 2 is, firstly, a looter-shooter RPG rather than an immersive FPS with space zombies. Weapons have gear levels and damage stats which you will need to grind and upgrade. You can also get various spells and perks which boost your performance, but these are mostly secondary. There is a good variety of guns to choose from, with different sidearms, rifles, melee weapons, and more to loot. Very mid-2000s esque fair. There's not a whole lot of difference in weapon calibers or variants of the same type, and a lot of stats like 'weapon stability' and 'switch speed' don't translate into VR controls at all, but it's still fun to blast zombies and run around looking for secrets. On top of that, your armor and cybernetics can be upgraded with various parts to improve your health, movement speed, spell power, or melee damage.
Levels are mostly same-y sci-fi ship corridors and system biomes populated by either zombies or hostile soldiers with occasional bosses or mini-bosses throughout. Each mission sort of plays out like a "run" where you have to complete certain objectives. Campaign missions have specific objectives for that area needed to unlock new missions, but you can also do side missions with timed survival missions, boss hunts, or scavenger hunts. It still plays kind of the same either way, but at least it's some variety. The big thing that stands out to me here is that it is definitely a "game" with VR controls rather than an experience or demo built entirely around trying to reinvent virtual reality at the cost of game feel. It's simple, replayable, and doesn't waste my time. in the original platform this wouldn't be a recommend for that reason, but I think VR is quality added in this case. This is how VR should be implemented: make a good game that has VR rather than trying to gamify VR itself.
My biggest complaint, aside from the previously mentioned busted stats, would be some other obvious RPG imbalances. There's way too many zombies in most levels, so automatic weapons tend to rule. It's got ridiculously grindy sidequests, some requiring you to kill thousands of enemies with specific weapons, just to get small percentage upgrades that don't add anything. It can get very dry, but if you are into looter shooters, than that's probably nothing new. Also, the voice acting and story is not great, but it gets a little better in the Meridian expansion.
For a long while, I've kind of felt like developers sort of did VR right in 2017 and 2018 and then never again. This game is part of a weird mini-genere of "ported to VR" where the overall game may be nothing new or special, but it is, at least, a complete game. It's an enjoyable, safe, simple RPG with a good 20-30 hour length depending on your pereference. It's not hard, just a bit grindy, but if you've been burnt out on sub-par VR games that don't feel fun to play more than once, maybe this might be worth a try. Decent recommend for VR enthusiasts and newcomers.
Very solid VR experience. Nice coop campaign with decent variety of objectives. Side missions (Acting as a filler or level-up grind. Thankfully grinding is not needed much).
Variety of weapons and powers is great! From melee / magic playstyle to grenades or heavy chaingun. And switching between playstyles is possible pretty much anytime, as resetting skills is easy (just money cost, and later on you have more money then you need).
And best of all - you can experience it all with one or two friends. Game is not too expensive and its definitelly worth the money.

Лутер шутер в ВР. Сложно поставить какую то конкретную оценку. В игре достаточно много скучный моментов, однообразия, но прям на отрицательный отзыв не тянет, но и едва едва тянет на положительный.
Сам игровой процесс представляет собой зачистку локаций с помощью обширного арсенала оружия и даже способностей. По окончанию миссии вам дадут закупиться снаряжением, оружием, расходниками, прокачать способности главного героя, да с прокачкой и шмотом тут раздолье. Вас ждет оружие ближнего боя, пистолеты, автоматы, луки, снайперские винтовки, возможность надевать на главного героя очень много разного рода снаряжения, которое визуально никак не отображаются на герое, но дают статы. Каждое оружие и снаряжение можно прокачивать. Помимо всего этого вам дадут возможность прокачать пассивные навыки главного героя, а так же его скиллы. С прокачкой тут, конечно, раздолье, но на самом деле она не сильно ощутима в бою. Вы все еще чувствуете, что ваши пушки стреляют точнее и наносят больше урона, а герой способен выдержать больше ударов, но это не сильно доставляет.
Сюжет тут ни о чем и никуда, так его еще и оборвали на середине, то есть в итоге вы останетесь без развязки, если, конечно, не захотите купить и пройти дополнение. В целом вы просто делаете то, что вам говорят не особо понимая, чего вы добиваетесь и как вам это поможет, половину квестов можно и вовсе выкинуть из игры и для истории ничего не поменяется. Вообщем чего то особенного или хотя бы средненького от сюжета не ждите.
Что касается самого игрового процесса помимо прокачки, он тут довольно однообразен, врагов по большей части можно разделить на 4 типа: Зомби, стреляющие солдаты, невидимые роботы и жирные мини боссы, а особенный подход к ним не требуется, идешь, рубишь/стреляешь. С боссами та же история, идешь назад и стреляешь по ним периодически используя аптечки. Стоит отметить, что выходя на локацию к неприятелю вам дают взять с собой обширный арсенал. Хотите 2 пистолета? Вперед! Два автомата? Пожалуйста! Автомат, пистолет, катана и нож и гранаты? Легко! Доступ к обширному арсеналу во время миссии действительно доставляет и вносит небольшое разнообразие в игровой процесс.
Итог неоднозначный. Вроде обширные возможности прокачки, но они не особо ощущаются. Обширный арсенал оружия в бою, но враги по сути одни и те же. Но все же я скорее порекомендую её, чем нет.
This game scrapes over the line just by the skin of its teeth. Really deserves a 5/10 but for the graphics it would be a real dog. The weapons feel janky and wont release or go to your backpack. The voice acting is hammy and that Minnikin guy? Oh brother!. The inventory system is soooo confusing just... dont even bother Several attempts at using a Grenade ended in pieces on the floor. If you buy the DLC you need to have played the game from the start but cloud saves may entitle you to load an old save if you got through it once before. upgrading weapons? Forget it but if you do it only applies to the one weapon. Probably OK for a single play through - get it on sale. It does look quite good which gives it some points and the atmosphere feels like inside a Space ship so that's a plus. Feels like yet another Russian made POS. you dont get to choose the level of hardness and some levels you have wave after wave of Zombies coming at you. The levels could have been a bit longer and more detailed because it gets a little same old same old after a while. Again this recommendation is for maybe the one play-through and get it on sale.

Ощущение, что игра телепортировалась из 2005 года на дату релиза. Может в 2017 году этот проект ощущался неплохо, но в 2024 играть в неё с удовольствием нельзя, всё какое-то кукольное, нет ощущения стрельбы из оружия, гоняешь врагов катаной как вичкой домашний скот.

Davvero un pessimo gioco, ottimizzazione inesistente con continui bug e cali di frame, spesso mi buggavo nei vari spigoli dei barili o cose del genere, inoltre non c'è fisica i colpi vanno a caso, il tutorial si spiega uno straccio, lo shooting lo ribadisco è davvero pessimo, ho giocato a tanti titoli VR ma questo è uno dei peggiori, per 5 euro poi...dovrebbe costare 1 euro e nemmeno.

The graphics and combat is good, story is ok. I think is is the type of vr game that is easy to pick up and get started. Few controls and easy to learn what to do. Yes, the enemies and stages are repetitive, but the combat is fun. While I don’t think it’s a $20 game, I would recommend buying it to play for fun if you can get it at a discount below $10.

Some armors and implants help you to have better damage and there variations, health restoration, velocity, battery restoration (why battery, because yes some weapons need batteries to work properly but don't worrie you can take this batteries in battle), power restoration, items the monsters can drop, explosive protection, ballistic protection, cutting protection, body to body attack protection, electric protection, and more.
You can have 2 abilities in your hand, but There is a weapon than can give you 2 more abilities GYGA SHOT, RESTORATION, fire, shock, destrutive power , hand to hand power, weapons power, psychic powers, heart destruction power, head destruction power and more
And i have a lot of hours playing this game, really this game is like; if you want to destroy waves of zombies and monsters , and take cool weapons in your hands, there is a lot of weapons, the armors have a lot of applications, the implants have a lot of variations

Управление просто замороченное. с таким управлением нужно по большей части стоя играть и вертется как волчок. я больше предпочитаю играть сидя у меня кресло врашается так что приспособился к управлению. но разбирался с управлением гдето час. тут люди пишут что страшная. вообще не страшная очень напоминает дум. графика слабее намного чем в doom vfr . но в 3D очень интересно играется
Might of been good but it keeps changing my height just for funzies and the controls are plain and simply awful.

Dead Effect 2 VR is a first-person shooter with RPG elements done right. It’s been around for years, and I have been looking for something like this forever.
Note: forget about Borderlands 2 VR because it's broken, and play this instead.
Хороший VR шутер. Из недостатков только то, что основных миссий недостаточно для прокачки. Обязательно надо выполнять сторонние задания иначе уровень врагов превращает стрельбу в тягомотину. Если прокачаться нормально, то идешь и забавно поливаешь зомбей из плазменного ружья. Они весело взрываются кровавыми ошметками. Для интереса прохождения в игре есть также незамысловатая история. В целом можно рекомендовать как VR развлечение. Версию для клавы-мыши я бы стороной обошел.

I quite liked it.
There are some flaws in gameplay like bulletsponges, but all in all, you lvl up, can play coop and buy and upgrade stuff.
You can use different Melee weapons, different kind of weaponry like pistols, revolvers, shotguns ect and Magic stuff.
So it has good RPG elements in a futuristic setting.
Don't let my recorded playtime fool you, i have many hours in this game played offline which Steam does not recognize.
It is 2023 & this is still some of the best zombie blasting & slicing fun you can have in VR, change some settings in the options to make it a bit more immersive such as manual reloading and it can really enhance the experience, not as good as reloading in titles like H3VR, Into the Radius or HL:A but still better than the move gun to belt type of reloading if you want better immersion, getting swarmed while trying to manually reload can make for some exciting moments.
Lots of replayability, quite a few different enemy types, lots of cool looking weapons (i currently like to equip an assault rifle, pistol, sword, grenades & use the electric thing on my hand which is really good for taking out the dog type enemies, goblin type & the invisible ninja enemies once upgraded), a variety of missions, abilities to use and upgrade (bullet time is my favourite, blasting zombies in slow mo never gets old).
Just a good ol fun time.

Fairly fun but rather basic VR game.
If all you want to do is shoot some dumb zombies in a sci-fi setting, grabbing this one for cheap ain't a bad idea.
Two things you may or may not want to know:
1. This is NOT a beginner-friendly VR experience.
Even with all the comfort options enabled, you'll likely get VR sick within minutes.
Obviously, it varies by person, but people who are new to VR tend to be particularly vulnerable to it.
2. The writing and the voice acting are horrendous, and so is the player character.
You play as a fat-phobic sexist, who refers to the first female character as "princess" and makes fun of an overweight NPC.
I'm not sure where they're going with this (maybe he grows as a person over the course of the game), because I have yet to stomach more than two missions, but I find it about as off-putting as said VR sickness. If you're cool with that kind of stuff, you can obviously ignore my criticism. I'm just putting it here for those that aren't.
Since these are highly individual points on contention, I'm not going to give it a thumbs down.
The game plays fine, shooting zombies is fun, and there's some progression in the form of skills and abilities.
You can also customize the world's scale, enable auto looting, and so on.
They clearly cared about making this one as accessible as they could.
Just don't expect more than what you'd find on a mobile phone in terms of production value.
A mediocre experience that's good imported pretty well to VR, making for a very enjoyable repeatable romp.
I played Dead Effect and thought it was good enough to give this a shot. This game is somewhat different, as you can upgrade your weapons and such. There is a story line here, but I didn't get involved with it much. Its worth a play through if you're into the space zombie thing. I would say its better than the first one based on the new options.
This is a fun VR game to play with friends. Enjoyed the story / plot. Humors dialog, customization for weapons, armor and other useful enhancements. Well worth purchasing.

Dead Effect 1 jsem nehrál a ani PC port Dead Effectu 2 rovnou jsem skočil do VR verze, tenkrát jsem měl VRko chvilku a chtěl jsem si koupit nějakou VR hru aniž bych rozhazoval peníze a viděl jsem recenzi na Dead Effect 2 že to je Hidden Gem mezi VR hrama, tak jsem zkusil a opravdu hra mě úplně pohltila a když jsem se dozvěděl že to je dokonce mobilní hra tak jsem si říkal no f*cking way, this is awesome.

Příběh je takovej trošku meh... jste geneticky upravený super voják kterého ze stáze probudí osoba jménem Danette a snažíte se přežít na vesmírné lodi které ja zamořená zombii (tohle asi navazuje na předchozí díl), sice upřímně postavy jsou takové podprůměrné neříkám špatné, sice je fakt že kde konci mě celkem zajímal ten příběh, když jsem ale pak zjistil že konec příběhu je v DLC tak jsem trošku byl naštvanej.

Atmosféra by se dala popsat tak že vezmete Dead Space a Doom 3 se špetkou zombíků jak z No More Room in Hell a bang máme Dead Effect 2. Spíše očekávejte ale uzavřené klaustrofóbické prostřední, všude samá high tech technika.

Upřímně gameplay je skvělej sice nečekejte realismus více arkádové, ale upřímně možná je to i dobře. Protože můžete třeba mít dvě zbraně v ruce a to i různé kombinace jako útočnou pušku a pistol nebo dvě dvojhlavňové brokovnice, či chladné zbraně.
Samozřejmě kromě klasických zombií, jsou zde i speciální nepřátelé a zombíci, takže rozmanitost nepřátel je široká.
Samozřejmě zde máte příběhové mise myslím že jich je okolo 30, ale máte zde pak dodatečné mise jako generické mise kde plníte různé úkoly, survival mód kdy musíte přežít čas, či hordu (Biohazard) kde naopak musíte zabít určitý počet zombií, Lone Wolf mise kde bojujete proti vojákům, ano jsou i ty lidé proti kterým bojujete a upřímně bojovat s vojáky je úplně něco jiného než bojovat se zombíky.
No a pak tu máte ještě PVP a Coop což jsem bohužel nemohl vyzkoušet jelikož hra je prakticky mrtvá, leda že by jste měli nějakou partu kamarádů se kterýma by jste se domluvily.

Jsou tu zde ji Side Task, které vám dají bonusy a odměny či unikátní zbraně a upřímně štve mě že jsem tohle objevil až ke konci hry, tak jsem musel pak dodělávat a upřímně bude vám to trvat dlouho než všechno odemčete mě se to povedlo po 98 hodinách.
Bohužel u pár Side Tasků mi vadilo to že máte zabít například 40 bossů, na Šílenou obtížnost s dlouhým trváním mise, což by mi nevadilo kdyby v 1 misi byly jenom 2 bossové, kdyby byla možnost třeba i více bossů na jednou vypustit, protože moje vybavení už bylo tak overpowered že i zabít 3 bossáky na nejtěžší mi nedělalo problém s jakoukoliv zbraní skoro.

Opravdu jde fakt zde hodně zbraní přes útočné pušky, pumpovací brokovnice, energetické zbraně, sniperky, těžké zbraně, chladné zbraně ale taky pistole, dvojhlavňové brokovnice, různé typy granátů ale taky různé abilitky a každá postava má unikátní schopnosti ano na začátku si vyberete jednu ze 3+1 postav.
Zbraně opravdu vypadají dobře, některé jsou obou ruční samozřejmě s nima můžete střílet i z jedné ruky ale výrazně to snižuje jejich přesnost. Chladné zbraně třeba odvíjejí od napřáhnutí takže pokud chcete dávat velký poškození hodně rychlé a silné rány.
Líbí se mi taky že můžete si vybrat jak chcete zbraně nabíjet, jestli manuálně či ammo bag (zbraně přiložíte k břichu a automaticky se vám nabijí nebo možnost kdy musíte nabíjet manuálně ale pokud máte v ruce dvě zbraně stačí ammo bag což tuhle možnost jsem preféroval protože všichni víme jak je složité nabíjet dvě zbraně zaráz.
Upřímně zbraní je fakt hodně většinu jsem vyzkoušel navíc si je ještě můžete upravit různýma codex upgradama a samozřejmě vylepšit poškození, přesnost a munici.
A ještě navíc vybavení a implantáty které vám zvýší různé atributy, zdravý, pancíř a energii.
A také různé schopnosti... které jsem moc nepoužíval protože moc na magii nejsem.
Bohužel pokud jsi svoje vybavení můžete vylepšit i tak že prakticky hra na nejtěžší nebude představovat žádnou výzvu, sám jsem umřel jenom na nepozornost nebo na jsem se sám zabil.
Každopádně každý si najde svoje.
[h1]Technická stránka hry[/h1]
Jak jsem říkal grafika je celkem okay sice nečekejte Half Life Alyx či Boneworks ale zase naopak není vůbec zlá, berte v potaz že VRko bere hodně výkonu a tahle hra vyšla v roce 2017 když ještě VRko sotva začínalo.
Ale máte zde všechna nastavení co potřebujete. Upřímně hra běží v pohodě a pokud by jste měli menší problém stačí snížit nastavení.
Bugy hra má ale na ty jsem narazil fakt jenom vzácně.
Bohužel hra "nepodoporuje" Valve Index takže většinu tlačítek budete muset přijít sami jak fungují ale ti co mají Quest či Vive mají výhodu. Každopádně s Valve Index ovladači hra se ovládá v pohodě.

Dead Effect 2 VR je hodně zapomenutá hra upřímně fakt nikdo ji moc nezná sice s pár kamarády jsem to chtěl zkusit ale bohužel zůstal jsem jen já. Ale mám spoustu srandy a žážitků s touto hrou fakt je to hidden gem nemohl jsem věřit, ale zas chápu některé to nemusí lákat.

Game is great, surprisingly good VR port from what was originally an android game!
there are lots of VR comfort and accessibility options, even the menus feel pretty good despite being 2d screens as they are fairly tactial and the puzzle screens are in world instead of pop out menus very tactile inputs feels good to play.
there is a fun campaign with voiced NPC's and a decent story I don't remember dead effect 1's story but this one is fairly memorable. in addition to the campaign there are also side and wave missions for lots of replay ability.
lots of weapons in game but perhaps too many character upgrades it gets a little much at times.

I completely forgot how great this game is. If you want a fun zombie killing VR game, Dead Effect 2 VR is honestly one of the best out there.
I’m not sure why it didn’t go gangbusters. It started as a mobile Android game, but the VR version offers more options and depth than a lot of VR titles from that era.
Definitely grab it even if it’s not on sale, but honestly, it goes on sale pretty often.

Игра ВООБЩЕ не похожа на то, что показывают на скриншотах. Ужасная анимация, от перемещения укачивает, даже когда используешь телепортацию, сбивается уровень пола. Не рекомендую, есть варианты куда лучше.

I am a 52 yo father, probably one of the oldest people playing Dead Effect 2 VR. I am a single father to my Son, who is 14 now. My son found this game at Christmas, so we installed it on his computer and he started playing. By the end of the week he had 24 hours on this game. This was horrible for me, as it was already hard for me to find ways to spend time with my son, as he is always out with his friends or just watching YouTube. So i decided to make a Steam account and get this game to see if I could maybe play alongside him. I loaded into the game world and started playing but I was stuck on what you were supposed to do. I asked my Son for help and he helped me. Loved it as it was the best time had spent with my Son since my wife had died. This game has ever since brought me and my son closer again and now we actually spend time together outside the house together as well. This game reminded me that there's fun to be had in everything, and it has brought both me and my Son many happy memories.

Have to say, when it comes to action FPS - this game has nailed it down. Its fast, furious, frenetic, with a healthy layer of equipment/RPG-lite management on top of it, Diablo-style, to give you good reasons to replay missions or play stuff that's not the story mission.
Its the first game that makes me lose sense of my boxed space, and makes me move widly so that I end up eventually untangling the HDM cable, or taking a moment to walk back to the center.
Also - there's multiplayer on top of it!
So, get it, its really worth it.
Not even for free! Under $10 American and asking for a refund on this boring A.F. game, could not even start to get into it. Just a pipeline / sewer / rail - shooter. No thought involved just shoot and move straight ahaead, Done. W.T.F. How is that fun? Gimme naked time with Bridgette and you can have my $10 back.
-Doesn't run that well on PCVR considering how simple the graphics are. Also floor looks like it has two layers. Cyberdog animation is ridiculously slow
-Controls could be better, movement feels too heavy
-Doesnt detect quest 2 type control automatically. Then tutorial tells you to press menu button to reload gun, which is wrong
-Asks to move and drag finger over a line to restart generator, but nothing happens when touching the line or no matter what I press. Don't know what to actually do.
-Feels like early access. Turned off after about 17 mins and probably not getting back to it

Взаимодействия с миром нет, оружейной физики тоже нет, перезарядка например просто подносом оружия к груди....(У пистолета нет отверстия под обойму позор) Чем то напоминает старые автоматы с House of the dead, но даже на тех автоматах было веселее чем здесь
Не понравилось от слова совсем. К тому же сильно мутит при движении, телепорта нет.
This is my first time writing a review on Steam and I feel this is the game I need to write a review about. I've put enough time into the game to recommend if you should buy this game.
Dead Effect 2 at its core is an Arcade RPG/Looter Shooter. You level up, pick different weapons, gear and implant like a arcade mix of Duke Nukem (for it's wacky arcade-y-ness), DOOM for its level design, and Resident Evil for its enemy and horror elements
When you first play the game you've given a sort of hub world and in the middle of the hub is your main access to the meat of this game. Here you can take on the single player, survival mode, horde mode, PvP multiplayer and a lot more modes to play and these modes can be played in co op
The story, I don't care for at all, don't have a clue what's going on in the slightest with any of it. Not a bad thing but the story is an after thought for me. It's just there for me, doesn't add or take away anything from the overall package.
Gameplay is gunning down monsters/zombies and getting credits to buy more guns/gear/implants. A great element of it is the shops work on a 20 minute timer and change up what's available at that time. The amount of things to equip and upgrade is overwhelming but in a great way. You never feel complete and get something new that can just make you a complete tank/machine at times (then more so when you upgrade you weapons or add attachments to your gear)
Single Player is great with a load of great mission variety. There are tablets to find in each level, a set amount of credits, orbs to find and shoot and achievements tied to each level which is amazing for replay-ability
I'm in a great gameplay loop with the game were when I turn it on I play Biohazard/Survival Mode (can set difficulty and length of each one which effect rewards upon completion) get enough money to buy a new cool gun. Then play with it then get more credits to upgrade that gun and other things and just always work on making yourself feel so powerful.
The amount of customisation options in VR is great in this game. You can get really down to the tee for how everything works in the game for you.
Graphics are great, nothing out of this world but for what your doing, it's perfect for what it does. The gore and blood effects are very good.
Enemy variety is good, you'll get used to not liking certain zombies/monsters appearing and work on different ways of taking them out with different load outs.
I paid £5 for this game while it was on sale. Would have happily paid full price and still have the same thoughts on this
This game is up there with the mandatory games that's need to played on VR. Very underrated game that needs a lot more attention. I've never enjoyed gunning down zombies so much in my life.

This is legitimately better than the base game and I’m not even saying that to dunk on it. They did an excellent job transferring the game play to VR though there’s a little jank like pulling grenades from your chest or shurikens from my arm pit but it’s a fantastic vr experience.
A VR port of a PC port of a mobile game that was trash to begin with. I don't know what I expected.
Controls are bad, movement is atrocious and nauseating, gameplay is still pretty bad, easily the worst VR game I played. Refunded.

How is a VR port better than most VR shooters on the market? First off if you don't know the Dead Effect games they are basically Duke Nukem style arcade shooters mixed with some old-school Resident Evil enemy design. It does not take itself seriously and your only objective really is to have fun.
Pros: Solid VR shooting. Your hands snap to your guns, you can pass guns between hands freely, you can snap two hands onto two-handed guns to steady them, or just Rambo one from the hip. Hit detection is decent, movement is smooth, and there are lots of customization options. Normally this would make for a solid 6/10 FPS. But its implementation in VR scratches a very special itch which kicks it up to a solid 8/10 on gameplay which is all that matters with this sort of old-school arcade shooter.
Neither Pro nor Con: If your looking for a realistic zombie shooter for your VR immersion pleasure, this isn't it. Its an arcade shooter 100% meaning that a lot of the potential of VR is not used. You reload by slapping your hand to hip. Another point is that some of the guns have holographic reflex sights which some people really do not like in VR.
Cons: Not too many really. It is very hard to mess up an Arcade shooter and for a VR port it is very hard to tell it is not a made for VR game. The controls and interface can be a little janky at times and will be very frustrating to some people who don't have good tracking. The over all quality of the game is slightly above what you might find on a good VR chat game. Its fun but there is still a moderate level of janky feel that never quite goes away.
Worth full price?: Frankly, for a VR game of this quality I would say yes its worth the $25 price tag. If it's on sale then I would say it is a must-have for most VR libraries.

Jogo simplesmeste sensacional , otima jogabilidade e bons graficos , ainda te permite jogar o modo historia ao lado de um amigo o quer deixa o jogo ainda mais divertido.
If you love VR for the visual aspect, do your eyes a favour and avoid this game. I couldn't even think past the graphics enough to stay in the game for 5 minutes. Maybe not as noticeable on old VR headsets or standalone headsets with usb/wireless connection, but for a PCVR player with a newer headset it's unbearable.
Honestly such a great VR experiance. Story isn't the best and dialog can be cringe but got dayum is killing enemies in this game great.
No manual reloads for weapons, you just pull the weapon to your chest to reload, freeing your other hand to other stuff.
Enemy variety is pretty good too unlike most other vr games.
I can consider this in the top 10 of VR shooters, partly because they're really isnt alot on the market to be honest.
If you have VR, just get it. Don't expect anyone to be on for multiplayer though.

Works well for VR, had a blast in the first mission, but lost interest in the second mission because of the sponge and odd animations. So yea, in essence it is still an old mobile game. Give this a try on sale.

oh yeah, this is literally doom 3 in vr but better. its a full blown RPG and has a few DLC packs to extend the games lifespan. not much else to say about it. just groovy baby! wish the WMR controllers worked better, once I activate the sticks for full control theres a slight slow sliding effect that gets pretty annoying. you can opt to not use the sticks and use the touchpads and the sliding stops so... my only real complaint
Fantastic and terrible all at the same time. Janky, while incredibly ambitious. Worthwhile if you're looking for a VR FPS that actually plays and presents like a FPS with high value when it comes to content.
The developers threw in everything they possibly could here. You have special abilities with upgrades, a weapons shop with upgrades, gear shop with upgrades, several different game modes, a level up system, a story with voice acting, controls that honor FPS gameplay--no forced teleportation or on rails here, traditional FPS levels--no arena wave shooter BS, lots of achievements for achievement chasers, and the gore and zombies look good here in VR.
The gameplay is where things fall flat. It doesn't feel thought out. It feels like a waveshooter but not. Enemies are just oppressively thrown at the player without much thought. It makes the combat an annoyance, and it can get worse. There's a primary weapon that takes a bit of a charge to fire, seems dumb for a primary weapon, and I unfortunately selected that for a mission with enemies that attack and then run away. With an endless flow of these hit and runners coming from anywhere and everywhere, it was a really irritating experience. I was both surprised and relieved when I managed to kill the last of them. I want to be relieved from tension not irritation in a FPS.
While I was initially excited when I first played this to have a real VR FPS, I no longer have intentions of playing through this in its entirety. The game has a lot to offer for VR players, but I'd rather play Dusk, Ion Fury, or the dozens of other boomer shooters that know gameplay and actually doing something with your level design is important.
This game is super fun, the best game I've played in VR without a doubt. A friend bought this for me and i bought the DLC to go along with it and it is worth it. The DLC basically doubles the game content. On sale the game and DLC are less than $20 and honestly are worth more than that. If you've got 2 friends to play this with then you've got a full team and no reason not to buy this!
