A massive step up from the first entry. Mechanically, I felt pretty fulfilled with the gameplay, with plenty of fun classes with their own tool kits to match up. I found myself more hooked into the story, this time around. Admittedly, the fully-voice acted scenes did help my lack of attention span, lol - but it did really help immerse me, with the VA's performances. I can well say, I'm having blast and have been playing whenever I get off work.

This game is amazing. I was hooked almost as soon as I started and had an absolute blast playing through it. I have nothing negative to say about it, outside of some of the characters being annoying at times. The world-building, plot, and lore are cool and it picks up after the previous game, which I didn't play but I can take a strong guess as to what happens in it based on this one.

The gameplay is fantastic, and it rewards you for being intelligent and cautious with how you move your troops. All of the heroes are extremely fun to use and there is plenty of customization with builds and class setups available to use. I love that the game incentivizes you to go out of your way to complete side objectives in each map to gain rewards that are extremely useful later on down the line. I felt the game was very fair and not overwhelming punishing like this genre of game can be at times. I also absolutely love this art style, reminding me a lot of Fire Emblem. Music also, very good and catchy at times.

I would absolutely recommend this game. It's so much fun, and I totally play on playing it again eventually on a harder difficulty, especially considering there's multiple storylines. Just an all-around fantastic game that's not super long, but still feels very filling and satisfying. Love it.

Better than the first game; a good Fire-Emblem-esque indie title.
Pros: Streamlined, both in combat and inventory management. The story was interesting, and took more risks than the previous title. The characters were fewer and more fleshed-out (with good voice-acting!), and the bond conversations were a strong point of the writing. The addition of active abilities helped freshen up the classic Fire-Emblem formula.
Cons: Uneven pacing, overstays its welcome a bit. Definitely chapters that could've been cut, or combined with other chapters. The story was clearly designed with a third game in-mind, and didn't conclude in as satisfying a manner as it could've as a result.
Overall, I'd give it an 8/10. I would recommend Gales of Nayeli if you've finished this and want another good game in the same indie subgenre.

[b]Геймплей:[/b]
Ви керуєте армією з 10 бійців (всього в грі 20 ігрових персонажів), які по ходу сюжету доєднуються до Ордену Вічних, щоб навести порядок на континенті Верроа та вирішити свої проблеми. Кожна місія має певні умови для її завершення: супровід конвою, знищення всіх ворогів на мапі, зайняти ворожий табір або втекти з поля бою. У грі присутня солідна варіативність білдів на основі класів (у кожного персонажа свої класи), навичок та екіпірування. Також між персонажами розвиваються дружні зв'язки, які покращуються в різних бойових ситуаціях і більше розкривають характер персонажів. В цілому — класичний набір Fire Emblem-like ігор. Серед мінусів відмітив би відсутність кавалерії/летаючих юнітів, а також не найрозумніший ШІ (іноді тупить). Але гра все одно цікава і фанова.

[b]Сюжет:[/b]
Одразу скажу: якщо ви не грали в першу частину, то нічого страшного — в процесі проходження вам розкажуть, що було в попередній грі. Сюжет є прямим продовженням Dark Deity і розповідає про дітей Ірвінга (ГГ першої гри), яких батько відправляє на складні місії, пов'язані з політикою та дипломатією. Історія починається з завдання повернути магічний артефакт із сусідньої країни, що ненароком втягує Орден у велику війну проти агресора — Священної Асверелльської Імперії, яка прагне розширити території за рахунок континенту Верроа. В центрі сюжету Гвін — донька глави Ордену Вічних, яка протягом всієї історії росте, навчається і стає справжнім лідером (і героєм, куди ж без цього!). Гра акцентує увагу на темах війни, дружби, зради та дорослішання в умовах хаосу, а також чимало приділяє темі помсти та до чого може привести жага влади та викривлене уявлення сусіднього диктатора про «історичну справедливість» (кожен українець чудово знає до чого це приводить!). Не сказав би, що сюжет геніальний — у ньому багато вічних тем (ну не просто так ми Орденом Вічних керуємо), — але спостерігати за його розвитком та фіналом було цікаво. Плюс розробники постаралися над наповненням лору свого всесвіту — однозначний плюс.

[b]Графіка/звук:[/b]
Dark Deity 2 має непоганий піксель-арт, але не скажу, що неймовірний (вибач, DD2, але до Chained Echoes ще далеко), а також добре намальовані портрети персонажів та катсцени. А от звуковий дизайн сподобався, особливо озвучення: як для інді-гри озвучка зроблена дуже якісно.

Якщо ви шукали тактичну покрокову RPG у стилі Fire Emblem з непоганим сюжетом та якісним виконанням, то Dark Deity 2 точно для вас. Беріть — не пожалієте! [b]8/10[/b]

1편보다 많은 발전을 이루어 플레이 하기 더 편하고 좋았다.
번역문제도 깔끔해져서 스토리 이해를 포기한 전작과 달리, 더빙까지 되어 있어 무난하게 스토리도 즐길 수 있었다.
SRPG 장르를 좋아하기에 전체적으로 만족스럽게 플레이 했고 즐길만한 작품이었다.

도전과제 팁
1. 신격 이상 난이도 아주 쉽게 깨기
전작과 마찬가지로 시작할때 캠페인 변형으로 난이도를 확 낮추는 방법이 존재한다. '새게임'- 오른쪽 아래 '캠페인 변형'에서 적 능력치는 낮추고 플레이어 능력치랑 경험치, 골드획득치는 늘린채로 신격이나 악마 난이도를 선택하면 된다.
이 상태로 엔딩을 봐도 정상적으로 도전과제 달성이 되니, 스트레스 안 받고 하려면 캠페인변형에서 조정을 하자. 다만 적 능력치를 너무 낮추면 재미도 없어지고, '적에게 한 유닛이 500데미지 받기' 같은 도전과제 달성이 힘들어질 수 있으니 어느 정도 타협이 필요하다.
2. 이번 작품은 특정 챕터마다 선택지에 따른 분기가 있고 해당 선택지마다 도전과제가 각각 존재한다. 하지만 선택지가 뜨기 전에 세이브 기회가 주어지고 선택지 고르는 순간 바로 도전과제 달성이 되니 세이브만 잘 해두면 세이브/로드로 쉽게 달성 할 수 있다.
3장 시작할때 어느 세력의 편에 설지 선택지가 3개 뜬다. 2장 끝나고 3장 시작전에 반드시 세이브 해 두자. 선택지마다 각각 도전과제가 있다.
남부기병대 편에 서다. / 상인 귀족회 편에 서다. / 이즌의 백성 편에 서다.
6장 클리어 하고 7장 시작할때 선택지가 뜬다. 6장 스테이지 클리어 하고 반드시 세이브를 하자. 선택지마다 각각 도전과제가 있다.
재닐 편에 서다. / 카마리 편에 서다.
11장 클리어 하고 12장 시작할때 선택지가 뜬다. 선택지마다 각각 도전과제가 있다.
샤맥 죽이기. / 샤맥 살리기.
17장 클리어 하고 18장 시작할때 선택지가 뜬다. 선택지마다 각각 도전과제가 있다.
유물 파괴하기. / 유물 가져가기.
3. 한 쌍의 커플을 최대 결속 상태로 만들어야 되는 도전과제가 있는데, 신경 안쓰고 하면 엔딩까지 달성 안 될 수도 있다. 그러니 결속 관계로 묶여 있는 캐릭터들은 같이 이동하면서 전투를 치뤄야 한다. 3칸 이내에서 전투를 해야 결속 경험치가 오른다.
결속 경험치가 꽉 차면 자동으로 결속 랭크가 올라가지 않고, 부대의 결속 매뉴에서 결속 강화를 눌러야 랭크가 오르니 주의하자.
4. 한 캠페인에서 유닛이 20,000의 피해를 입히도록 해야 되는 과제가 있는데 이건 엔딩까지 한 캐릭으로 총 합산 2만 데미지를 넘겨야 된다. 초반에는 어차피 데미지 낮으니 신경 안써도 되고 중반부터 신경 쓰면 된다.
딜 잘 나오는 캐릭터로 15챕터쯤부터 한 챕터당 1000~1500데미지 가량 나오도록 조절해서 마지막 챕터인 30챕터까지 총 합산 2만 데미지 넘기면 된다.
5. 그 밖에 까다로운 도전과제라면 '한 번의 레벨업으로 모든 능력치를 얻기' 가 있다. 레벨업시 모든 스탯이 상승 해야 달성이 되는데, 플레이하면서 저절로 달성되는 경우도 많으나 운 없으면 엔딩 볼 때까지 달성 안 될 수도 있다.
다행히 1스테이지에서 높은 확률로 달성하는 방법이 있다. 새게임을 시작하고 캠페인 변형에서 '경험치 획득'을 200으로 설정하고 제일 쉬운난이도로 시작을 한 다음 '여유-턴제한 없음' 고르고 그 다음에는 '일직선 성장-고정능력치 증가'를 고르자.
1스테이지에서 커샌드라가 혼자 모든 몹을 쓸게 되면 4렙까지 레벨업을 하는데, 4렙때 이 도전과제가 달성 될 확률이 굉장히 높다. 안 된다면 세이브 로드 이용해서 몇 번 해보면 될 것이다.
6. 올든과 벤지를 각각 MVP로 만드는 과제도 있고, 한 챕터에서 마나 300을 소모, 한 챕터에서 유닛이 59칸을 이동, 한 챕터 내에서 한 부대가 15번의 전투에 참여등등 쉬운 과제는 굳이 언급 안 하겠다.
'금 5만개 모으기'는 중후반부 자연스럽게 달성 되거나 세이브 로드 신공으로 가진 것 전부 팔아서 쉽게 달성할 수 있으나, 전혀 신경 안 쓰고 있으면 팔 것도 없어서 엔딩까지 달성 못 할수도 있으니 의식은 하고 있어야 된다.
'한 챕터에서 한 부대가 1000의 회복량을 기록하기' 이건 풀피 상태의 동료에게 회복을 걸어도 카운트가 된다. 힐량 늘어나는 반지를 끼고, 보조목표로 힐량이 표시가 되는 챕터에서 시도하면 더 편하다.
'한 챕터에서 한 유닛이 500의 피해를 입도록 하기' 이건 28챕터에서 하기가 좋다. 28챕터는 아군 시작위치 오른쪽에 공간도약 하는 벽이 있고 벽 너머로 근거리 적들이 여럿 있는데, 사정거리 딱 2칸만 나오는 궁수를 혼자 보내놓고 벽을 사이에 두고 행성법사 스킬로 힐을 넣어주면 된다.
궁수가 회피가 너무 높아 다 피해버리면, 회피시 절반의 피해를 받는 반지를 끼어 주자. '한 챕터에서 한 부대가 1000의 회복량을 기록하기' 도전과제 랑 같이 해도 되는데 게임 시작할때 턴 제한을 걸어놨다면 턴 제한때문에 힐량이 부족 할 수도 있다.
'숨겨진 업적: 생명을 살려주기.' 이거는 26장 클리어 후 키라 관련이벤트를 보다 보면 자동으로 달성이 되지만 컷신을 건너뛰기로 스킵 해버리면 달성이 안 될수도 있다고 하니 주의하자.

이 게임에서 가장 마음에 드는 건 PC에서 파이어엠브렘 같은 SRPG를 만날 수 있어서 좋았습니다.
그리고 한글화 고맙습니다. 성우들의 연기도 홀륭합니다.

다만, 호감도 이벤트 씬에서는 성우연기가 없어서 아쉬워...흥미가 약간 떨어지게 됩니다.
전투도 전직하고 후반으로 갈 수록 슬슬 질려와서 쉬고 있습니다.
파이어엠블렘 인게이지를 되게 재밌게했는데...질릴 줄 몰랐어요. 당연히 명가이니 그랬겠지요.

인디게임에 너무 많은 것을 바라는거 같네요. ㅎㅎ

스위치가 없는 제게 굉장히 단비 같은 게임이었고 추천합니다.
그래픽이 너무 고전스럽네,,라고 거르기엔 스토리텔링과 육성이 재밌습니다. 매우긍정적!!

作为致敬经典的作品还蛮不错的，但是缺点也和老游戏一样，打法有点单调，每关都是靠闪避的角色或者坦克把别人勾引过来，再集火秒掉，基本在体验完所有二转职业之后就没意思了，后面的关卡如同嚼蜡。其次剧情可有可无吧，打了汉化补丁我也是快进着看。要是有第三代还是加点新的机制吧，比如说最简单就是加个兵种克制关系。

It's a fun, simple strategy game. If you like Fire Emblem, you'll probably like this. Having played the first one a few years ago, this is definitely an improvement, but I do have a couple of criticisms.
First, I feel like the unit variety leaves a bit to be desired. There are a lot of classes, but some of them are obviously weak, so you're not likely to choose them, and a lot of them overlap with each other so they don't always feel unique. In particular, I really felt the absense of cavalry units. I usually really appreciate the extra mobility in games like this, but they're not an option here.
Second, I feel like character progression could have been more intuitive. There are two tiers of classes (one unlocked at level 5 and the other at 25). When you change to a tier 2 class, you keep your abilities from your tier 1 class, but that's not really made clear as you're making the switch. I feel like they should have just said you get a tier 1 class and a tier 2 class and you can combine them as you like.
Lastly, I just have a recommendation, not a criticism. When you start your campaign, go into the custom campaign settings and turn on double money. It doesn't make the game trivially easy, it's just that every customization option costs money in this game. Changing classes costs resources that you can buy and after you slot upgrades into your weapons or abilities, it costs money to remove them. Doubling your money will just give you more freedom to experiement and customize your army.

DD2 is improved and expanded DD1. If you liked DD1, you will like DD2.

Here are some of the game features:

- square grid, turn-based combat
- 30 chapters (missions), 6 challenge missions and 5 training missions (which you can repeat as long as you can pay 1000 gold)
- about 30 hours gameplay, depends on difficulty you choose
- if you want all achievements you will have to replay a few missions
- a shop selling basic stuff available after each chapter
- your squad can contain up to 10 characters
- many different characters to choose from
- only one of them being mandatory (Gwyn)
- if any other character dies during the mission, they will get a small penalty in the next mission but otherwise nothing happens
- if Gwyn dies, you have to restart the mission
- only characters present in mission earn experience
- you can catch up other characters in the training missions if you want
- you can't save during a mission but the game is not too punishing, I rarely had to replay any mission

[h3]Characters[/h3]
- each character is assigned a basic class: adept, hunter, shaman or summoner
- each character can evolve its class at level 5+, there are 4 classes to choose from and then again at level 25+ - giving you 4 basic classes, 16 intermediate classes and 16 advanced classes total
- unfortunately, some classes are weak compared to other options which hurts the diversity a bit
- each character has one unique ability and each evolution provides two additional abilities for a total of five at level 25+
- abilities require mana to activate, mana slowly regenerates each turn
- each ability can be improved up to five times by spending essences, essences are earned by defeating boss enemies and by completing secondary objectives during missions
- characters develop bonds by performing attacks or defending and being close to each other
- each character can have up to 4 other characters to bond with
- each bond has five stages, each stage gives you a reward in form of gold or various gems
- the gems are then needed to craft rings, you need three gems to craft one ring
- each ring is unique and each character can equip two rings
- you should try to level up these bonds, otherwise you will lack gems to craft 20+ rings to maximize your potential (10 characters x 2 rings)
- each character can also equip one weapon and each weapon can be further customized by two runes
- you decide what each rune does when you insert it, runes can be freely removed between missions for a small gold fee
- runes are weapon type specific - sword runes can be only inserted into swords
- all in all, you have decent amount of customization available for each character, dodge tanks and always-crits are on the menu
- lastly, characters auto-level and are assigned stats based on stats growth given by their classes

[h3]Combat mechanics[/h3]
- characters, as well as enemies, can be broadly divided into magic and physical damage dealers
- characters have the usual stats like strength, dexterity, luck, dodge, speed as well as magical and physical defenses
- speed is especially important, if the true speed of unit A is higher by at least five points compared to unit B, unit A will double attack unit B
- each unit has an attack range - melee (range 1) and ranged (range 2)
- the game denotes it like this:
- 1-1 physical - melee unit only
- 2-2 magical - ranged unit only
- 1-2 physical - melee and ranged unit
- when attacked, unit will automatically counterattack, if it is still alive
- 1-1 unit will not counterattack ranged attack, similarly 2-2 unit will not counterattack melee unit
- this means that 1-2 units are preferable making some classes and evolutions less desirable
- some abilities can target unit more that two squares away but it is quite rare
- from the tactical point of view, the options are a bit limited

Each mission is actually a puzzle, based on the map layout and the placement of enemy units you try to get the best matchups you can. In some missions you will be rushed by the enemies but in most enemies are static and they will only move if they can attack your unit. If enemy unit can choose which unit of yours to attack they will always prioritize max damage.
The pressure and difficulty comes from the time limits, you are forced to put your units in dangerous situations in order to achieve your objectives in time. However, if you don't like this kind of pressure, you can choose the "Relaxed mode" at the beginning of your campaign. I have to say that if you want a challenge, play the game at the Deity difficulty

My biggest issue with the game is the general lack interesting enemies. There are only a few combinations. Bosses have unique rules attached to them but still they are quite bland.
I liked the stats screen the game shows after each mission for each character - damage dealt, damage received, mana spent, healing, etc. This screen is also available throughout the campaign giving you accumulated stats from every mission.

Storywise, not much to talk about here. I have to admit that I started to skip the cutscenes after mission 15. Blah, blah, evil emperor, blah, blah, wants to control the whole world, blah, blah, we have to stand against the Empire, blah, blah. Although some of the dialogues are funny at times, it was a cringe most of the time.

Still, I had a good time with the game.

I’m genuinely happy to say this review is a redemption story; Dark Deity 2 fixed nearly every major issue I had with the original.

I'm very pleased to say that my review of Dark Deity 2 is a bit of a redemption story, because in my review of the original Dark Deity, I didn't recommend the game. I described what I felt was a perfect storm of circumstances, and if just one of these things was changed, it would have changed everything. These circumstances were steadily ramping up difficulty as the game progressed, no ability to change difficulty mid-game, no battle saves, no ability to grind for gold or XP outside of the finite battles in the story (and some game-breaking bugs that required reloading the last pre-battle save), and if they were to change any of these circumstances, it would change everything. Well for Dark Deity 2, they changed ALL of those things; training stages to grind for XP and gold added, battle saves added, mid-game difficulty adjustment added, and they even added a gold farmer character. They also made a few more exciting changes.

Those changes did change everything, like I had predicted, and for the other new improvements; one thing I was happy to see is resolution and full screen support for my ultra-wide monitor. The frist one didn't have this, and I really appreciated having my full screen real estate again. Another improvement that I feel is quite huge is the gearing. In the original it was quite simple. Every character in the game had a choice of 4 weapon styles always available; power, accuracy, balanced, or crit. You would simply upgrade these when you could afford it, and that's the entirety of it. Other than that, you had items called "aspects" for a unique trait to sort of build around. It was nice, but pretty barebones. Now in the sequel, there are actual equipable weapons for starters. You can get them as drops or purchases, or from chests. There are also a series a unique runes to choose from to slot in weapons; two per weapon. Then there are also rings that have some really nice unique effects that you can make a character build around; 2 per character. Each class ability can be upgraded 2 times with the right resource; for example, +1 range twice on a heal spell, for a healer that can get the heals right where they're needed, without physically being where they aren't wanted (or double that +2 range with a ring) Finally, each character has a unique passive and ability to add onto the ones from their class choices. All of these things add up to some great build potential, and a lot of potential synergy, if you enjoy building for that sort of thing. I certainly do.

A few things I didn't love; zooming in and out during battle is pretty much nonexistant. Some maps don't allow it at all, while some allow very little. The game feels super zoomed in to me because I played Dark Deity zoomed all the way out. These are just nitpicky things about a great game, honestly. And here's another nitpicky thing. The game is full of choices that determine how the story unfolds. This is great; I love it. That said, I wish they would have offered a choice on who Irving from the original game had children with. It would have fit perfectly with the choices and flexibility offered in the game, and I also feel there's a disconnect. You control Irving through so much, then jump forward and have no control over this outcome. On my personal list of who Irving would have children with, the one chosen in the story is the last one I'd go with. It just feels really boring and uninteresting that this is how it turned out; just nitpicking of course. Maybe for Dark Deity 3 this will happen, because I literally got my entire wish list of changes for Dark Deity 2, lol. I should confess that I never leveled their bond because I pulled her from the team at the first opportunity, but still, this would be a meaningful choice, if added.

I enjoy the combat, but the taunt-free nature of it can be really weird to work around. In Dark Deity (both of them), tanks don't draw aggro, and every enemy unit will run right by your tank, traveling the max distance it can in order to attack your weakest unit within range. For this reason, the general practice is to have your tank run far ahead, isolated from the party. It makes it tricky for your damagers to travel to weakened targets that attacked the tank last turn, and tricky for healer/support types to get in and support, and most importantly to me, it makes it near impossible to build up your bond XP. Dark Deity 2 expanded on Dark Deity's bond levels by adding rewards; the deeper the bonds grow between characters, the more rewards you get. These rewards are essential core mechanics though. You need to complete these to get gems to make rings for your team members. The problem is that bond xp grows from being super close to each other (~2 tiles?) when attacking or being attacked . So this means bond xp mostly doesn't happen in battle, because you have a tank, or maybe 3 tanks in 3 different directions, separated from everyone and getting a lion's share of the kills, and dropping that bond xp on the floor in the process. Thematically, heals should really count for bond xp, but they don't, and this makes it even trickier. I recall when I needed a certain gem from bonding Haoran and Arthur, and they were both healers, and I was like, well this is nice. Time to have them run in and get killed lol. For balance, they could have made it so that only heals that actually recover missing HP will grant any bond XP. What happens is you wind up needing to do the training missions purely to have a tight formation and farm up that bond xp for those rare and much needed gems to make your rings. I do love those training missions though. It's because of those training missions that this is more of a nitpick than anything.

Okay, one last nitpick. It involves something I really like, so I guess it's somewhat of a double-edged sword. So I really like the meaningful choices in the game's story, but I also dislike it. The problem for me is that they involve super key pieces of gear. If you choose based on story, or because you don't know the best gear choice this early on, you may regret your choices throughout the game (like I did). The gear choice is a very important choice. If I could make a small tweak for a big improvement, I'd remove equippable gear from the story choices; make it about the story itself, temporary character situations, and some appealing (but not unique) rewards like gems.

Back to things I loved; I saved the best one for last. The voice acting was superb. Just having any voice acting at all was a big step up from the original, but they went all out and got professional familiar voice actors that really delivered and helped draw you into the characters and story. The characters felt a million times more immersive and interesting, and so the overall experience did as well. While I enjoy combat, characters and their promotions and loadout choices, the story, etc. I'd have to say that the voice acting is what I feel sets this game apart as a strategy RPG that people should try out. It's like getting an anime and a game all in one. Big time props to the voice actors for knocking this one out of the park, and props to the Dark Deity team for the writing and coordination to make it happen.

In summary, very well done despite some minor nitpicks; superb voice acting, meaningful and interesting choices in character builds, interesting characters and story, lots of new tools for developing your team and responding to game difficulty throughout, ultra-wide monitor support; most importantly, a real joy to play.

Between the improved systems and the outstanding voice acting, Dark Deity 2 stands out as a strategy RPG worth experiencing

整體而言大約是6/10~7/10左右的小品，喜歡SLG/聖火降魔錄的玩家可入手。

優點：
1. 劇情比起一代有明顯進步，大概從幼稚園升級到國中。
2. 人物建構相較一代立體一些。(立繪也是，但真的只有一些)
2. 職業系統繼承一代設計，自由度高。(但考量各角色成長狀況以及部分職業設計明顯失衡，轉錯職相當於廢掉，謹慎轉職)
3. 武器+符文系統進一步加強自由度以及角色建構差異化。

缺點：
1. 有意拆分技能與普通攻擊兩種系統是不錯的嘗試，但使用技能後無法移動導致部分技能大幅受限或直接廢掉。(例如增加移動力一回合技能，使用後角色回合結束，可用的機會幾乎為0)
2. 轉職道具給予吝嗇，角色等級早就超越25級但受限於轉職道具限制遲遲無法轉二階職。
3. 為避免挫折遊戲體驗做功課幾乎無法避免，角色被動技能、成長素質、各職業的強度差異變相限制角色建構，相對可惜。
4. 技能升級系統也是不錯嘗試，但是有用的升級幾乎已經固定，差異化有限。

整體來說OK，算是合格的聖火降魔錄代餐。
