This game was fun to boot up and just kind of wander around. Unfortunately I can not recommend it due to it being abandoned by the devs. It has been many years without updates, and the graphics that once made this game great are now not so special. This had a ton of potential but it never got there which is very sad
for a game made by two devs in their part time, i like it. sure its bare right now. but i can see the world they are shooting for. i like the physics behind the dinos. they are a little clunky but given how nice the world looks they will flesh it out in time. i can see as soon as the world is built i hope they can settle in a nice story to back it up. If there was one thing i would like, a periodic check in from the devs but otherwise keep up the good work devs

I play a lot of dino type PC games over 20 years. Collision Course has the best visuals and dinosaur models of any game. I just reloaded the game to see what's new and I can see playing the game now more since added dino's and fixes. The graphics alone in DX11 and a better video card makes this game stunning! The forests and water are beautiful. I just wish for the ability to change keys around to my layout to interact in the game. Moving around using WSAD is old but I would expect in up coming updates, that will be addressed. Overall, this game needs another look at, as I am doing now.

its sort of like a dinosaur human survival but you have to go really far out to find Dinosaurus such as Spinosaurus and T-rex you can find them in the spawn desert but its like the longest an hour to spawn there

This game had quite a lot of potential, it had lots of love and atention, beautiful graphics, animations and models, crafting, deseases, weather. And I really love dinosaurs, this had the potential to be the best dinosaur game ever for my younger fantasies about a great dinosaur survival game like this. But deep in my heart I cannot recomend it to you guys cause the game was abandoned years ago since last update. Its is so sad, its sadness is as deep as the potential it would have.
I really dont want to be obligated to take the refund path.

At the time of this review, this is a very early access, and therefore very unpolished, survival game. Its glitches and other jank do not detract from how much fun it is. It is basically just The Forest or Subnautica but with the base building and multiplayer replaced with very good-looking dinosaur models. It is currently the best option for a modern-day Jurassic Park Trespasser analogue in my opinion. My main complaints are things that would obviously be changed in the final release, such as the mini-map, lack of key rebinding options, and current gameplay balance (specifically how few options you have for storage space outside your inventory). It's a shame this game has been through so many ups and downs over the years, as I have been keeping track of it since TheGamingBeaver on YouTube first played it. It has lots of potential, and is already fun and addictive and even scary at points, which are things that cannot be said for most other dinosaur games. The rats are really freaky and I advise any new players to kill as many as possible.
This game had such potential and was being updated at one point...Though it's been long abandoned, the devs took the money and ran with it. We have not heard from them in a long time and i consider this to now be abandoned. Don't purchase, spend your money on something else that is well worth your time. It's a shame it all had to come to this, i was really looking forward to this game and had high hopes for it.

Good game, worth it. The updates come as fast as they do for Zomboid. Still worth a play though when you turn on the beta version.
Bought this back in 2017 when it released.
Only 2hours on record but that's only because at the time my computer couldn't handle it. Now my playtime is rising.

A cool dinosaur game with amazing graphics and actually smart AI for the dinos. I played this game a lot back when it came out. However, I've since stopped playing because the devs abandoned this game. As such, I can't recommend anyone to buy it because it is unfinished and likely will never be finished.

This game is really high quality and has overall potential to be famous like ARK, The Isle, and more. If anyone knows where to find the ipad that allows to request item drops, let me know. I even know where to find an op weapon, the rr5 classic pistol. Just keep going deeper into the desert and then go into the swamps and you'll find it in one of the wall caves

i love the game but it would be better if it had a new update but still a good classic
this review also includes features from the beta so things may change. this is just to give my opinion about what is currently in the game (mostly the beta)
things i like:
the dinosaur AI feels very natural and realistic as well as intelligent, i wish there was a spectator mode where you could just watch the dinosaurs interact with each other and the world.
the graphics are very nice and realistic but not to the point they get in the way.
the dinosaur designs are similar to other more "generic" dinosaur designs, but still manage to be different in the fact they act like animals.
the games biomes seem to reference different dinosaur media like jurassic park 2 (redwoods) and chased by dinosaurs (dunes)
the creature variety is not to low but not to excessive with much more still to come. the creatures range from tiny salamanders mammals and frogs to brachiosaurs mosasaurs and even electric eels.
things i dislike:
it feels like basic crafting is much harder in the beta due to a few reasons. 1.you dont spawn near the prisoner camp. 2.the prisoner camp once was a lifeline but is now just a place to try and hide from predators. 3.you spawn in the swamp and the swamp sucks. it feels better to gradually travel to more dangerous areas (denser foliage, steeper terrain and other environmental factors) in my opinion.
the terrain textures slide as the terrain loads and you walk across it.

Message for the Devs. I have NEVER experienced a game that can make you feel so genuinely vunerable on a planet ruled by dinosaurs. I quickly realised that story wise there wasn't much to do BUT! after thinking "that's that then" I have found myself going back into the jungle most evenings, it's just so real. Usually on other open world games like ark etc I just speed up the night as there's nothing to do, but here, well just staying perfectly still, holding the camo mask over your face whilst a spinosaurus walks past you, or even over you, convinced that you're there, well let's just say that the nights can be genuinley scary! The map is huge! But you have to discover it for yourself, most of what you discover isn't on the in game map, which adds to the sense of discovery. I've made about ten shelters at different points and set some snares, (although I haven't caught anything yet). The behaviour of the dinosaurs is unnervingly real, the way a predator will watch you, the fact that if you kill a raptor there WILL be another one somewhere, the way herbivores move in herds etc. Also, when a meteorite crashes through the atmosphere and explodes it makes you REALLY jump! Even if this game never gets any further development it currently provides a way to spend hour after hour just exploring a prehistoric earth whilst having to be alert ALL the time to the dangers that were present back then. Well done on what must surely be the most realistic prehistoric game out there!

I'm going to assume that this game has been abandoned, too bad. I really liked the direction this was going. Sure there are bugs and graphic glitches but this could be something if it was polished up. I felt pretty naked and afraid of the dinos and night time was even more creepy.

This is probably my first actually serious review so...
I've put some time on Collision Course since I've seen TheGamingBeaver's video on it where it included Spinosaurus. The game was half-decent at best but still needed more work put in. The new map released and then updates really slowed down. Collision Course never got out of its Early Access phase, the devs said that it will be out of early access within "12-16 months" and to this day of making this review, it's still in early access. The latest bit of news was a few screenshots of what was to come, which was in March 4th, 2022. After that, in all that time from that bit of news to today in February 12th 2024... NOTHING HAPPENS. Nearly 2 YEARS and we are yet to hear anything on how far the development is going. If we still hear absolutely nothing on the development by the time 2024 is over, then chances are that the game has been abandoned and is basically dead.
In conclusion; Collision Course is most likely abandoned and is a waste of money at this point. Another once promising dinosaur game bites the dust...

This game has been around forever and while it does have some good ideas and is in a genre not taken seriously since the 90s, its basically abandoned. The devs post an update once every couple of years and while the last one was pretty big, its only available to the beta branch. If you do download that to add some content to this bread sandwich, be ready for some serious bugs and performance hitches compared to the dry(er) version. I guess Ill check on this game in another 6 years to see if they move that patch out of beta.

This game is fun with a bit of updating and refining this will be a superb survival game, i my mind the character gets infected way to often with some virus like dissentry but going with the space atmosphere where your spaceship crashes and you need to survive is all well and good but i would prefer like ray tipe weapons or conventional weapons rather than the electronic weapons that looks moor like lethal taser weapons. The rest of the game is fun i like where the raptors are smart to point of sometimes even noticing your traps and a like the trap system where you can place explosive traps.
To anyone interested in checking out the game the latest version is unlocked by going into the settings on Steam and selecting the "Beta beta". Really weird how they did that.
I saw the low poly rat from Halo 3 T-Posing while surfing on the water right before getting eaten by a T-Rex. Masterpiece 10/10
Actual review: Game feels very aimless. Graphics and combat are decent. Bad performance, very little in the way of progression, and the game was last updated over 3 years ago. Kind of a shame too because with a little more work I could see this being a decent dinosaur game. 5/10

The most fun part is uninstalling UPDATE: Tried again ....... oh dear. Clunky, un-intuitive, boring ..... just a mess. I gambled and bought the game ........ lesson learned.
A very pretty but disappointing game. Collision Course has a ton of potential its beautiful it really does look like Crysis but with dinosaurs. Very realistic looking environments great looking water and stunning looking forests. I could look at the environments all day it is honestly that good (some texturing could be improved however) It has some interesting AI also the dinosaurs show a range of behaviours and its fun to watch them sadly the dinosaur designs could be better. Some of them look great while others are very boring and generic (the Tyrannosaurus looks just like the one from Jurassic Park the most over used dinosaur design ever)
The worst thing about the game tho is just....its not finished and it does not seem like its going to be. Updates are very VERY slow and not much really changes when there is a rare update. The game has a ton of bugs that need fixing but i really dont think they will be. The game lacks a ton of features and just feels very empty at times. I really hope the game gets the love and care it deserves at some point but i wont hold my breath. If you want a very pretty but unfinished dinosaur survival experience or an unfinished Crysis mod with dinosaurs then Collision Course is for you

ABANDONED GAME, DON'T WASTE UR MONEY,
interesting game, makes me think what it could be, but when the game crashes and freezes up ur screen so u have to restart ur pc, just because a dinosaur is walking by u, it doesn't make me want to start it up again. 5 yrs into EA and it crashes on one of the things u would expect it not too.
You can only pick up stuff that's highlighted blue which means ur running past rocks and branches in the 10's trying to find a single rock or 4 to make a fire. i would like to recommend the game but atm i can`t. I don`t know if the developer has abandoned it (atm can`t find the last update). but i also heard that's its only 1 person making this which could be why it is 5 yrs+ into EA.

Great concept! Needs a lot of work though. The only reason I don't recommend it is because it is not completed and may not be updated or fixed ever. I actually like this game. The survival and pace is very enjoyable. It has a different gameplay to any survival games I know. I like that you can bio-scan Dinos and see the heat on them. As well as good and bad NPC's! Traders are a nice touch to the game.
Now for the issues!
LAG & BUGS: My computer runs Ark well and this game doesn't take up any space but likes to crash, freeze and lag. It won't even allow me to bring up my task manager to shut it down. I have to literally restart my computer. Plants and water come alive as though someone / something is there but it is actually you and your lag. I can't even shift + tab out of the game to go to another window when streaming, without coming back and seeing two cursors on the game. The campfire won't except any more sticks for fuel some reason. So you have to build a new campfire each time.
INVENTORY ITEMS: I have patience adding / transferring items one at a time. However, transferring does break for me, that you have to load the game or wait that it fix itself. It stays on the hand icon and you can't do anything for awhile. Why can't we put Gear items into inventory or your tent like everything else - like the water bottle or mask? I've only found 1 water bottle out of the whole map. Gear and Weapons slots need expansion badly. Some of the items, I don't even know what it does without testing it. Also water. Why can't we boil water? I literally guess and see what streams are good and streams are bad, then get dysentery XD
DINOS: I actually think the graphics of the Dinos are better than Ark in some ways. Yes, shoot me. I suppose it has a bit more finesse in the detail and realistic. I just don't get the behaviours of them. I was actually testing to see if I could start a gang war and have carnivores verse other carnivores. They just ran away from each other. The Rex would prefer to runaway from a Parasaur than hunt it even though on my heat seeker they were both agro/alerted (red). It was funny to watch.
DIRECTION: The direction of this story has none at the moment except hope to find a pod somewhere. It gives you a few hints but I'm literally wandering endlessly hoping to find something significant.
OVERALL: There is a lot of potential and a game I could possibly love over Ark, once, all these bugs and functionalities have been updated. Crafts and item slots need expansion. However, judging by the discussions I have seen, the Devs may have left it for dead since 2017. I'm unsure. BUT THINK ABOUT THE DINOS!
When they do update this game one day and is completed, I will change my review in a heart beat!
EDITED: I originally put a No to recommend this and now have changed it to Yes. To boost interest and get the Devs back to working on this.

Как по мне самое крутое в этой прекраснейшей игре - огромный, открытый мир и почти полное отсутствие сюжета, игра не водит тебя за ручку и не указывает что делать. Жаль что игра была мертва 2 года, но хорошо, что разработчики взялись за неё. Желаю разработчикам удачи в развитии игры, у неё огромный потенциал, если её не забросят снова. А вам, читающим данный отзыв желаю удачи и поменьше смертей в этой замечательной игре.

It's extremely suspenseful. Took some practice but now I am able stay alive. It's mostly the atmosphere I find enjoyable. The AI is very spooky!
This game has great AI mechanics and looks really good. Though this games development is very slow. You do have a lot of things to do in this game, I really love the crafting. I feel like the game cost too much for what it is right now though.

Altho i have only played for 33 minutes, unfortunately not 1 of those minutes did I have fun, I had big hopes that this game would become something awesome but it has not barely changed.
In my opinion it is not worth the money, I tried to get a refund but i was way to late as i waited to see for updates that maybe would make the game better, this didnt happen tho.
So long story short, i do not recommend you buy this game in its current state.
I literally yawn when I consider playing this game.
The HUD/Inventory system is BEYOND annoying and the game is massive (which would usually be considering a positive, but since there is nothing to really do - is boring).
I'm not exactly sure what the dev team was thinking when they were working on this (keyword being "were", as the last update on this Collision Course was May 2020, so well over 16 months ago.) but, it feels unfinished. Totally original - I'll give it that - but lacking variety. Unless you are 10 years or younger (getting "wow'ed" at the simplest things and easy to preoccupy), you will most likely get frustrated/annoyed and bored quickly.
It IS only $10. So, if you wanted to give it your own go, you may get more out of it than I did. The graphics are, to me, its only redeeming quality.
3/10 - 99.8% sure the game has been abandoned by devs - You've been warned.

the night time is way to long its like 30 or 45 minuts (in real time) and npc at camps attack randomly sometimes just if you do buy i recomend you buy it on sale incase you dont like it and be when playing because of the 2 hour max refund thing
First dino free roam ive played that makes you feel "there"....just having fun exploring at the moment but would like some updates to understand the future of it...the devs still active on it or...?
Even if they don't, just get it for a genuine experience.
One experience i remember was roaming through the forests and seeing another explorer minding his own business, until the rex made it his business! He got mauled and i sat in a bush with wee coming out...
Reminds me of the AI in Crysis, the dinos are pretty smart. The 'bad' is the inventory system, needs an update but workable so meh.

Well, again a dinosaur game with real potential transformed by a bunch of lazy guys into a failure with capital F. After 3 and a half year the game is ravaged by bugs, visual glitches and crashes. The inventory is a mess. It seems that these guys never played STALKER or a similar game that has inventory. Why the hell the map is in the inventory beats me. After learning the ropes there is not much to do on this island except wasting your time. The water is nowhere to be found, they said that in cave you find water. Well take my word for it, there is no water in caves, I was in one which has nothing except rocks. The textures are missing altogether or they failed to appear. The sun in sunset shows the same image in water, which is wrong, in water you should have the shadow of the sun, so when you look , in sunset there are two suns LOL Hey don't you play this game to notice these anomalies guys ?
Don't buy this game , at least not now. I doubt that this lazy team behind it will ever finish it.

Gra posiada ogromny potencjał by stać się jedną z lepszych jeśli nie najlepszą produkcją w tej tematyce na obecny czas - czyli typowy survival z dinozaurami w którym będzie możliwość w końcu poczuć się niczym w Jurajskim Parku. Już na tą chwilę AI jest zadowalające {a to przecież fundament i klucz do sukcesu o którym zdecydowana większość twórców gier całkowicie zapomina - bo weźmy jako przykład popularny tytuł jakim niewątpliwie jest ARK - tam AI dinozaurów nie istnieje). Świetnym pomysłem było wprowadzenie botów innych ocalałych (dzięki czemu gracz nie będzie czuł się osamotniony), którzy starają się przetrwać na tej złowrogiej wyspie nie wspominając już o ich interakcjach z dinozaurami czy też samym graczem ... oby tak dalej ... bardzo dobrze odwzorowane dinozaury ... optymalizacja gry pozostawia wiele do życzenia ... ale jeżeli autorowi tego tytułu uda się do końca wdrożyć w życie swoje plany moim skromnym zdaniem ten tytuł ma duże szanse stać sie jednym z najbardziej popularnych tytułów tego gatunku gier komputerowych ... trzymam kciuki ...

Brought this back in 2018 was pretty bare bones back then so left it to simmer for a few years, now back in 2021 playing it again sadly it is pretty much the same after 3 years so until they have a major update with this game i'm afraid I wouldn't Recommend this game to anyone.
Bon jeu solo . On est plongé dans l'ambiance de l'ère Secondaire. Certes des animaux ayant vécu dans des périodes différentes (Jurassique supérieur et Crétacé supérieur) sont rassemblés ici, mais cela semble se passer sur une autre planète que la Terre.
Petites critiques : les prédateurs qui prolifèrent sont pourtant très faibles face aux herbivores et perdent tous leurs combats. On aimerait aussi voir quelques espèces supplémentaires comme le diplodocus, l'ankylosaure ou encore, dans les airs, un ptérosaurien. Plus d'espèces, c'est toujours ce que demandent les fans de dinosaures et du Mésozoîque !
On remarque quand même de petits mammifères, des oiseaux, des grenouilles, tortues, crocodiliens, salamandres et des limules, des poissons ou des insectes.
L'aspect survie est bien rendu.
On se surprend à observer les animaux dans leur environnement quitte à oublier parfois les règles élémentaires de prudence !
Comme les bons jeux solo de survie aux époques des dinosaures sont plus que rares ( pour ne pas dire inexistants) et ce jeu méritant d'être terminé, vifs encouragements à ses développeurs.
