The storyline is grippling, the game has overall nice graphics all for a negligible cost. The battle mechanics could be better (items not costing a turn, you can basically kill any enemy if you use items without even them hitting you) but they are not a major inconvenient. Sound effects/Music are awesome! I recommend this game

Cavern of Time é aquele RPG que tenta te convencer de que está te levando numa jornada épica, mas na real te joga num porão de clichês com cheiro de mofo narrativo. A história da garotinha que entra numa caverna pra salvar a vovó é mais batida que andar pra frente. O visual tenta ser bonito, mas entrega um festival de texturas recicladas estilo RPG Maker. O loot aleatório achei interessante com dezenas de combinações de equipamentos. Já o combate é sem sal, os inimigos parecem estar ali por obrigação contratual... Tem boas intenções, não é de todo ruim mas falta alma, ritmo, melhor execução e polimento. Fui até o fim pela platina, pouco mais de 6 horas para conseguir de forma bem tranquila.
Nota: 5/10, porque para explorar uma caverna precisa de luz, e o jogo fica meio no escuro.

I am 32 years old.
My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

Tiene logros y CROMOS que le dan mas valor al titulo, por lo demas es una aventura RPGMaker generica sin mucha personalidad y aburrida, rescato solo lo que mencioen recien como positivo.

RESULTAT:
Selbst wenn ich hier alle Augen zudrücke kann ich es nicht empfehlen. Einzig die Karten sehen ganz nett aus, aber es wird niemals klar ersichtlich sein wo Laufwege sind. Habe sogar beim letzten Quest nicht den Seitenweg zur Angelschnur gefunden, wo nebenbei von nur einer fertigen Angel die Rede war und nicht 3 Einzelteilen. Am sonsten sind Achievements in ca. 5 Stunden alle zu holen, zumindest wenn jemand leidensfähig ist. Die Musik geht nach 2 Minuten auf die Eier und die Soundeffekte sind so grell das sie in den Ohren schmerzen. Ob das Spiel durchgespielt wird ist auch den Glück überlassen, da alle Gegnerspawns, Waffen, Rüstungen, Items glücksbasiert sind. Dann kommen nach ca. 30 - 60 Minuten massive Leistungseinbrüche zustande. Wer 384 KHz verwendet kriegt die unpassende und skurrile Meldung "Web API not supported", was hat web API mit den Sound zu tun?
Die Quests bestehen alle aus Backtracking und nix anderes, zudem Schema F, sammle XYZ oder töte XYZ. Die Story handelt von Krebs und Zeitreise, wer aber hier eine tiefgehende Story erwartet wird massiv enttäuscht. Den natürlich [spoiler] kann ein Amulet die Krebserkrankte Grossmutter retten... [/spoiler]
Weder der Gegenstands- noch Zauberhändler ist auf allen Karten zu finden. Auf der letzten sind beide nicht, also wer Tränke vergessen hatte und das Glück nicht hold war, Arschkarte und auf Try and Error setzen. Ein weiterer Kritikpunkt sind Skills die IMMER treffen und IMMER mindestens 25 Schaden machen, was bei anfänglich 30 HP ein Witz ist. Also Balancing auch hier im Arsch. Dann sind Kämpfe unendlich lang, da weder dein Charakter noch die Gegner treffen. Zu guter letzt gibt es auch noch jede Menge Gamebreaking Bugs, also immer auf unterschiedlichen Slots speichern oder alles von vorne wenn ein Bug auftritt.
KURZ:
Finger weg von den Werk der Hölle wo nur zum Foltern und Nerven geschaffen wurde.

RPG Maker strikes again!
Cavern of Time is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel RPG Maker asset/construction kit flips spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker MV video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club fan fiction.
As with all RPG Maker games, the poor quality engine displays badly in fullscreen and doesn't have full HD support or any graphics tweaking options, making this unacceptable for any dedicated modern PC gamer. The point can be made that the intention of RPG Maker is to make demos and small games to pass around friends, and shouldn't be used for "professional" game development.
Like most RPG Maker shovelware and asset flips, the game features extremely low quality copy + pasted 2D retro pixel art, looks awful, and has even worse gameplay. RPG Maker is an absolutely terrible construction kit, and never results in games of any reasonable quality or value to gamers.
Gamers who want a good retro JRPG experience would be better off playing the originals, like Final Fantasy, Star Ocean or Chrono Trigger.
You don't have to take my word about how bad the game is, we can measure the interest in a game by how much people bothered to play it. Cavern of Time has achievements, and they show us a very clear picture that the game absolutely failed to capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is for collecting 3000 gold, trivial to do, but only around 1 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the game. That's a tiny, tiny proportion of gamers who even bothered with this. Ouch.
Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this game was with players reveals a surprise... there's a very healthy spike in player counts for the game. But this isn't consistent with the achievement stats, that show only 1 percent of players bothered playing the game for any reasonable amount of time. How is it possible for this game to have so many concurrent players who weren't even playing the game? Trading cards. Players will use card idling software to collect the cards and sell them, but this won't trigger any achievements in-game. That tells us people only really bought this game for trading cards, and that's a damning indictment of the woeful quality. A closer look at the numbers shows the game just has a couple of players every week running up the game and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many games like this, with no merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards.
Cavern of Time has the comically over-optimistic price of around $4 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product.

I remember finding this game, wishing for some light and easy game experience and a fantasy setting. Cavern of Time matches both of these requests :) I noticed that reviews are mixed, read them and put the game in my wishlist. Forgot about it for a long long time...
...and suddenly got it as a gift! It was time to go and check it out. I do understand the negative reviews, but in my opinion they don't quite do this game justice:
- The arc is linear and short, the gameplay is easy, animation quality is below most expectations I suppose, but hey! - the game doesn't pretend to be the best of the best, it doesn't cost a fortune and doesn't promise you any patricularly stunning and exceptional experience.
Is it OK to have simple and in some aspects even primitive games on the market? Sure, that's the very point of the market economy, every product finds it's niche and customers who are happy to use it.
STORY: Very very linear and simple, don't expect any intriguing details or situations, you just do what you gotta do from the beginning of the game, that's it. I'm OK with that and even think that it gives game the vibe of a story told by some ordinary person, not an experienced professional, and it leaves kinda warm feeling about it.
You will absolutely NOT miss any of the storyline, rest assured and play without thinking that maybe there is more somewhere... No, you get what you encounter on your way.
GRAPHICS: Now that's ambiguous, because the locations are beautiful and have the old games vibes, the colors are warm and soft, I like this style, it's original and timeless. But the characters are made poorly and there is no animation at all, just wobbling pictures of the enemies.
QUESTS: Don't expect any interesting or tricky quests, they are all super easy. If you need to find an item, it's somewhere near and you see it right away. If you need to kill an enemy, it's a breeze too.
GAMEPLAY:
- Enemies just pop out of nowhere with no logic to it, you walk through the forest and suddenly enter battle mode, that's all. Yes. No enemies are visible, it's random. Live with it.
- Walking between locations is sometimes uncomfortable, you don't see where the exit is and miss it easily.
- Battle means just choosing the attack type and reading the text.
- One thing I really liked about this game is that you can play it all with keyboard only, mouse is optional. Once I discovered it, everything became easier, I'm a keyboard fan :)
MUSIC: Battle music doesn't match the atmosphere, location music is nice and calming, suits the lazy gameplay well.
LEVELING UP, ABILITIES ETC
Some abilities are too strong and let you win any battle quickly. Some abilities are not really needed for such a simple game, but I appreciate the effort put into this part.
Weapons, armor and their durability are not that logical, they last for a short time. Unfortunately, such an important part is left, like, unfinished or forgotten.
Money... Hm, that's in every loot and there is no need to run around for resources, you get everything with loot eventually.
So overall I'd say that if you just need a little escape from everyday troubles, this game will help you. But if you place the same expectations for all games and think that every game is either perfect or has to try to be perfect - that's not the case.
It's just a cute and original game that won't mix with others in your mind, it's definitely recognizable and I think that author can be proud at least for this thing, because there are so many games that look the same and you cannot tell one from another.
Cavern of Time - recommended!
Cavern of Time seems buggy and amateurish with odd design choices and an incoherent story. It all feels mashed together haphazardly. It costs gold to save the game and the loot is all randomized. NPCs are just standing around on different screens vomiting out quests...the world doesn't feel immersive or believable.
Unfortunately I can't recommend it when there are so many better RPGMaker games out there.
My playtime is inaccurate because even after closing the game, Steam thought it was still running.

Всё о-о-о-о-очень медленно. Героиня буквально ползает по карте. Битвы бесконечны и скучны. Каждый клик выполняется с 2-3 секундной задержкой, чего не ожидаешь от игры с простой графикой. Соответственно, играть совершенно не возможно. Если бы не накрученное при выбивании карточек время, не поленился бы вернуть свои 15 рублей.

В итоге так и не поймал. Через какое то время на остров выбросило девушку. Он её спас, накормил. Девушку ему говорит: за то, что ты меня спас, я исполню любое твоё желание.
Мужик ей отвечает: помоги мне поймать козу.

Jogo de RPG Aventura "Old School" sem Palavras para descrever, passou uma História; um enredo muito Extraordinário, esses jogos Maravilhosos e Nostálgicos, seja o attack por turnos ou livre; RPGs são sem limites, esse os Personagens são Pessoas como no Incrível "Diablo", bem desafiador no inicio; pois você não possui nem um recurso e para conseguir vá tentando matar Criaturas, e com muita sorte juntar alguns itens de Cura e seguir no game, Cenários lindos, Criaturas Horrendas e bastante difícil de matar, uma Trilha Sonora sem igual, cheio de Quests e uma aventura fenomenal.
Super Recomendo, Dica; ao iniciar o jogo você estará cem nada; nem itens e nem Ouro, abra rapidamente os Baús das fases e consiga bons itens e Ouro, caso não venha bons itens ou você Morra, fique reiniciando até dar certo, Boa Diversão à Todos.

This game is actually kind of fun you go kill monsters and process through the game
The game do not exit properly and Steam prevent you from uninstalling since it see it as still running... and you cannot stop it using the steam stop button... then you reboot your pc and uninstall the game... and then steam says "Uninstall" but its never finish the process... i mean, what else to say, i play 10mins maybe, was mediocre and was not worth neither the time nor money (probably paid 50c, but still)... stay away from this one!!
So the easiest achievement is broken, and after a couple years and emails the devs have abandoned this and ignore the comment section.
If you are a 100% hunter, don't waste your time or money on this game.
I love RPG Makers Games! When playing this one It is better sweet in this review! The Dev has a good story in this Game. It is very linear story, and be ready to read a ton of story when there is a text screen. I wish he went back and did voice acting for this game like he did his others. Kinda wish I had little more story then it had. The missions was nice i enjoy the little story's in the secondary missions. one part you talk to a cart for a side misson but that cart should change in to a person to be belivable. It cool that the Dev put achievements for the game. I think my favorite part of this game was the Cave. I was lvl 7 when i beat the game, and It took like 1 hr and 30 mins to beat the game. There is one spell that i know of is very over power! The spell is a Shield spell which you can use to come back to life after you die. you can keep that spell on intill end of combat. I love the spell but i feel like it very overpower! The maping was not good! one thing that bug me is the trees. When trying to move past some trees you can not move past them. What do i mean by that is this If i move past a tree it should not let me pass from bottem of the trees, but when you move in the upper of the trees then you should be able to move past them. Another thing that Bugs me is it cost 25 gold to even save? If i ever make a RPG MAKER game i would never do that. Another thing was there no other playable character to help you fight at all. I wish he put another playable character to play and help you fight b/c some battle was little hard at the end. Would i come back to this game is it a repayable game yes and no. I always Rate this towards one of the best RPGMakers devs John Wizard games and i think one of the best games is Dawn's Light. So is this a New Dawn Light? I say no it is not. This is a good 1st game for the Dev to make for his 1st RPG Maker game. Can not wait to see what his other RPG Makers game are like. This is very Low rate type of game so my rateing is 5/10! TL;DR: This is a bad game. Yes, this contradicts the recommendation, but it's a game that's so bad, it ends up pretty good. If you need to kill some time and mess around, this could be a good choice. Just buy it on sale.
[b]The Good:[/b]
- Linear maps, easy to follow and understand
- Simple battle menu
- Wide variety of skills and spells for you to use
- Piggybacking off the previous point, your very first skill is your strongest skill. No joke. It's even better than the one-hit kill spell you get later.
- Equipment and drops are easy to get which sounds too easy, but it's a lifesaver since your equipment will keep on breaking through battles.
- Music isn't too bad
- This game is very player-friendly, especially for kids.
[b]The Bad:[/b]
- Your character, Bria, receives "character development" through two or three monologues she has in the entire game. That's it. She talks to herself and decides "Yeah...I think"
- This game is RPG Russian Roulette. You will miss 80% of the time and the enemies will hit you 50% of the time. Half the battles are only long because both sides miss or they just straight up one-shot you after X turns. Stick to your first skill that costs literally 1 point to use and hits 100% of the time.
- Side quests are portrayed as optional, but nearly all quests are mandatory if you want to proceed through the story. [spoiler] You'd think they'd be more rewarding if you're going out of your way to help instead of rushing to help your grandmother that's dying by the minute. [/spoiler]
[b]The Heck:[/b]
- You can tell the story was rushed by the developer. It was a pretty solid story and would be pretty neat with more details, character development, and more.
- The models are akin to the first result on a google search, combined with Photoshop, and animated by bouncing the model. Believe it or not, this just makes it worse because the game lags while trying to animate these mobs.
- Saving costs gold. Yes, [i] saving your game progress costs gold [/i].
[b]Summary:[/b]
This game is bad, but it's so bad it's good. Well, not [i]good good[/i], just decent enough to be enjoyable.

Best game I ve played
Short but sweet. Had this Ultima feel to it with the music and style.
Okay, this game is so strange that it's borderline endearing. Aside from being a turn based RPG with a simple story, there are a lot of elements that are very questionable to say the least. Quirky might be a word for it.
First of all, the positive: This game is ORIGINAL which is something I cannot overstate. Thanks to RPG maker there are a million and a half crappy low effort RPG games littered all over the Steam marketplace and beyond. This is not one of those, I believe this is a custom RPG engine with a surprisingly consistent art style, despite this art style being...not great. This is all original from some dude's mind and I feel it deserves credit for that when it could have taken the easy route.
There are a lot of questionable choices this game made and while they are interesting, they aren't really effective in improving the RPG experience. And yes I'll be nitpicky here.
-Every character in the game is in the uncanny valley, without exception. It must have taken a ton of time to model all the characters and monsters for this game, and the monsters look good, but the characters look barely human.
-Turn order: you decide what action you want to do, and then the enemy attacks first? I have never heard of an RPG where when you select your attack, the enemy hits you first! I have been made aware that a certain stat will determine who attacks first, a-la Initiative, but it still makes no sense to use this system after the first hit.
-No real progression: when you level up, the enemies level up to match. Along with ITEMS HAVING DURABILITY AND NOT LASTING MORE THAN 5 BATTLES, you are always constantly behind. You can't even wait to regen HP or mana because the only way to do so if through potions. You never feel like you got more powerful, your loot is gone in seconds so it doesn't matter how good it is, it's really unsatisfying to say the least.
-Unbalanced abilities: I killed every boss in one hit because there's an ability that instantly kills any one enemy.
-Menus within menus: to use something simple like a potion, you have to go through about 4 different menus. These would at the very least make more sense if there was more than one playable character and a party of multiple, but since there never is one, it's just wasting your time.
In a word: Weird.
Don't get this game if you want a good RPG, get this game if you want a strange and original RPG, because at the very least this is a solid step up from a lot of trash on here, just know it's not that great and more novelty. I got a few laughs with friends while playing it because the dialogue is pretty funny at some points, but I can't recommend this as a serious experience.

This game is in a weird category of games that have countless visual errors as well as gameplay inconsistencies but manage to be entertaining despite that for some odd reason.
The game is really rough; created with the RPG Maker but with a graphic style you usually don't see in those kind of games. Let me say first I am very knowledgable when it comes to the RPG Maker - I worked with it for many years when I was younger and I know the mechanics inside out. I am not too well informed about the RPG Maker MV, the Maker I think this game was made in, but I know most mechanics work the same and I can tell a lot of the basic mistakes of RPG Maker newbies were made in this game.
Some of those are:
- A character sprite that is roughly twice as tall as the actual normal RPG Maker character sprites would be, which means you have to stand on top of people to interact with them, as this is how the "normal" sprite would talk to them. It just looks silly here, however, as you have to stand on everyone's head to talk to them or interact with objects.
- A lot of issues with pass-through-settings; many areas you should be able to walk to are plain inaccessible, you can often not pass behind trees or get stuck on small rocks.
- Random battles with the standard battle system - not too bad, but also nothing extremely innovative.
The game also has some additional quirks that have nothing to do with the engine itself. Loot is randomized, which is nice, but that also means sometimes you may not find any piece of equipment you really need. The game itself is also really short, with a bit over an hour in playtime and maybe a total of 20-25 maps (areas), each not more than 20 tiles wide and tall.
Battles are a bit frustrating, because most of the time you will be completely overpowered and kill everything easily, but then there's one enemy that just oneshots you for no reason at all. You and the enemy will also miss constantly with normal basic attacks, which is a little awkward. The soundtrack is pretty good though.
Despite all that though, the game is fun, mostly because it's just a casual experience. Walk across maps, do some quests, kill enemies while being mostly way too strong which makes it a walk in the park, and marvel at some of the technical inconsistencies. It's hard to give this a rating, especially as someone who sees so many RPG Maker flaws in this. However, it's an oddly pleasing experience and a true "neutral" game that you can kill an hour in.
For 40 cents it's fine, not a great game, but not that bad, is a 1 hour very simple RPG.
EDIT: Game crashes randomly, it's pretty unplayable, sorry, I cannot recommend a game with this error.

A really short game. The worst things about this game are the attacks missing a lot and the fact I had to make a new game to get one of the gold achievements.
Ce jeu Cavern of Time est vraiment difficile sur les bords. Vous devez littéralement être au-dessus des gens pour leur parler. Les cartes ont de grandes zones inaccessibles sans raison évidente. Vous devez rechaper les mêmes zones à plusieurs reprises en combattant des rencontres aléatoires qui ne servent que de cause d'usure à votre équipement. Cela pourrait être vraiment bien si on accordait autant d'attention au gameplay qu'aux graphismes. Je ne recommande pas ce jeu.

This game looks like some student seminary project that might have been developed in late 1990s. It’s very short – it will take some 3 hours to finish with all Steam achievements, and even on my computer that can play almost anything on this level it was a bit sluggish at times. But the graphics have a nice touch, and it’s got some unconventional approach for a JRPG: for example you can’t sleep to replenish your health, so you need to manage well your restoring potions, and you also need to watch your equipment’s durability because it can break (at the most inconvenient moment, of course). It seemed to me that for being such a short game with underdeveloped story it’s somewhat overpriced, but worth a try for JRPG addicts when on sale.

С сюжетом на 4 страницы (собно в них он и подается), проходящимся раз в 5 быстрее, чем я предпагал - а именно ЦЕЛЫЙ час, что произошло так же быстрее, чем убилось 100 врагов для ачивки. Чтобы добить 200 врагов, пришлось пройти игру 2 раз, ибо в последней локации нету торговцев, чтобы покупать лечилки, которые выпадают рандомом, как и весь шмот. Закончил игру 7 уровнем, при том что за 10 дают 2000 золотых, которые невозможно использовать по выше описанной причине.
Враги рандомны, рандомно ваншотят или вообще не наносят урона, а так же растут в уровне вместе с игроком, из-за чего рандомность шмота становится бесполезной, ибо враги всё равно остаются одинаковы на протяжение всего часа игры. Босс тут по сути один, и то финальный. Есть ещё типа мини-боссы, но рандомно шотящие враги всё равно опаснее.
При этом игра люто не оптимизированна, спустя 30 минут игры жрёт 7 гигов оперативы, что по мне немного не нормально. Просадки фпс конечно же прилагаются.
Не рекомендую никаким образом, игра - бессмысленная трата времени. Как обычно, для карточек/ачивок по большой скидке, если уж совсем приспичит.

Всё о-о-о-о-очень медленно. Героиня буквально ползает по карте. Битвы бесконечны и скучны. Каждый клик выполняется с 2-3 секундной задержкой, чего не ожидаешь от игры с простой графикой. Соответственно, играть совершенно не возможно. Если бы не накрученное при выбивании карточек время, не поленился бы вернуть свои 15 рублей.

This game is certainly not anything groundbreaking, and it does have it's flaws. However I am really enjoying it so far.
Music is great, storyline is just so-so. Dialogue/interactions are a bit flat at times. Main character has the personality of a piece of wet cardboard.
I do like the loot system, and potions. It's not over complicated or cumbersome to figure out. How quickly your items wear out and break is a bit annoying however.
The powers you can gain are super helpful and maybe a bit -too- helpful. You can get a few really potent ones early on that become a bit game breaking if used in the right order.
It reminds me a great deal of RPGs I played as a kid, and I think that's part of the appeal to me. It's familiar and gives me a bit of nostalgia.
I think my biggest beef is how tedious it can be sometimes to move over the main map areas. There are big sections of map that seem like they could be walkable, but aren't
I got this game for about a dollar I think? It's more than worth that. I'd even venture to say it's worth the full price if you like old 90s style RPGs and don't mind some kinda boring grinding.
THis game is really rough around the edges. You literally have to stand on top of people in order to talk to them. Maps have large areas that are inaccessible for no obvious reason. You have to retread the same areas repeatedly fighting random encounters that mostly serve only cause wear to your equipment. This could be really good if as much attention was paid to the gameplay as was to the graphics.

good graphic for a 2d
The storyline is grippling, the game has overall nice graphics all for a negligible cost. The battle mechanics could be better (items not costing a turn, you can basically kill any enemy if you use items without even them hitting you) but they are not a major inconvenient. Sound effects/Music are awesome! I recommend this game.
For under a $1 it was ok. Ok/short RPG for people getting into RPG's for the first time. Wouldn't recommend it overall. It's forgetable, then again is was cheap. Story was boring as hell to.

Boss fights are somehow easier than the occasional random encounter.

Yet, I liked it.
This is a beautiful game. Graphics are spledid, the plot interesting, and the combat amusing. Your grandmother has called you to the farm to ask for your help in finding a cure for her. For this you must find the mysterious Cavern of Time, a portal to another world. Will you succeed?
You can name your protagonist, a young girl off on an adventure to save her family.
Got it on sale for a euro because the graphics are reminiscent of the old school Heroes Might & Magic games. Didn't expect much due to the cost but found it to be a very charming little rpg. My biggest critisism is that it is criminally short (I had the game beat in just shy of 2 hours, no grinding neccesary) and found myself wanting for more story at the end, which there was ample space for as the game explores virtually nothing about the world or any secondary characters.
Mechanically the game is fun but suffers from some balancing issues, potions don't cost an action to apply and stackable effects are very abusable so I found myself killing the end boss in two hits.
Overall I would have been considerably less impressed had I payed full price, but given the special it was a perfect distraction for it's price point. Devs if you happen to read this; I would be very comfortable paying more for a longer experience (with some replayability too), and given the reception of others games you've developed I'd say that this is the series you should pump more budget and time into.

A very nice and unique rpg maker game.
TL;DR: A solid rpg with nice graphics that will have you hooked with its story and dialog. You may not like the combat, but the enemies scale with your level so you don't need to fight everything.
I really enjoyed playing this game. I need to kill some monsters for the final achievement! :D
Positives:
(+) Nice graphics! This game does not use any default tiles from rpg maker. Every map is made on a 2d manipulation program and is "projected" as the map. It's pretty amazing to think how much work was put into this aspect. The battlebacks are just amazing.
(+) A ton of loot! Seriously, you get many weapons and armors and all are randomized! You get to use many of them, since the game has an item durability system; weapons and armors may break.
(+) Customizable character. Brianna gets 3 points after levelup. You can spend them on whichever stat you want.
(+) Many quests/events on maps. Every map has at least 2 quests or something happening.
(+) Battles are balanced. You will not experience any powerspikes from the monsters' side.
(+) Tutorial and achievements (in-game and steam achievements) through the menu.
(+) I will not say anything about the story to avoid spoiling people, but it's pretty damn good and the storytelling is atmospheric.
(+) Nice price for an atmospheric rpg with a lot of replayability value.
Negatives
(-) Some people may not like the pace of the game. It's slow, due to the story telling. I don't mind it being slow, but I have to put this in the negatives.
(-) Specific monsters are way too easy, even though they scaled to my level.
Verdict: 75/100 - Stay with the game's pace and you will enjoy Brianna's quest to find the you-know-what.

I really hate to give a bad review to this game. I like the way it was done graphically and with a nice story behind it. But, it's the way the game was created that causes me to not give a good recommendation for this game. Despite the play time Steam has, my internet was down for three days and had played it for some time during that period.
First thing I noticed was the erratic way the character would move while point and click at a location on the screen. Sometimes the character would pause then "jump" to a position that you clicked on.
Secondly, at other thimes the screen would freeze for a long time before you could continue on.
Third, the game would crash, unexpectantly. This happened several times when I played and had to restart at where I saved.
And last, sometimes the game would not save, even if you did a save. Then you would start from scratch.
So, this game isn't bad, just needs a lot more work at optimizing and fixing some bugs. Then, I think they would have a nice game to play. But, for now, I have to say no on recommending it.
A fun little game. I'd like to see the messages last a little longer (especially the ones telling you your armor or weapon broke). I'd also like the ability to go back to previous areas to buy spells or potions from some of the lower tier venders.
I didn't find a veder in the final area. That may be map generation (each playthrough has slight changes in the maps).
i probably will go back and play it again if only to get the achievements I missed the first time.
*This review is based on a pre-release version. Some of my issues are related to the engine used to build the game, rather than the game, per se. But many fans of RPG may be used to the engine*
This is a good RPG to pass the time. My initial attempt, like other reviews, ended in death after about 2 encounters, and the User Interface was also a bit of a bind to get used to as I am not used to this style of RPG interface. However, I'm glad I pursued this game because the next game I was able to progress a good way through, got much more used to the UI and really enjoyed the variety of monsters, characters and the story. This game has about 3 hours of enjoyable gameplay, but if you play again certain elements are random such as treasure chests and encounters. I do recommend this as a good casual game for RPG fans who want a few hours of entertainment within a new story.
Positives:
- Atmospheric epic opening screen.
- Random loot, different every time.
- Good achievements - positive for achievement hunters.
- Varied characters who set a good few quests.
- A good selection of monsters / combinations of monsters to fight.
- Good developer who listens to fans and cares about the games.
Improvement opportunities:
- The game is pretty linear with lack of freedom to fully explore, though gives some feel of free movement. The quests dictate how to move backwards and forwards down the same path in order to progress.
- Music a bit too modern for the setting in my opinion, though dramatic in encounters.
- Lack of tutorial and help in initial battles. For example I didn't know you can choose to leave the encounter.
- UI takes time to get used to i.e. right click to exit, to equip items you have to click on item twice - too many clicks. Also the quests don't tick off distinctly enough.
- Screens cutting to battles lag on my PC.
- The difficulty needs work - the first game was too hard in initial encounters, but the second game once used to the game too easy as I had loads of potions, weapons and money that I'd never need. I easily won every combat.
- Quite basic combat, two options initially, extra attacks are quite expensive to purchase. i.e. an early mystic wants 100's of crowns, but early on in the game you wont have that much money.
- Levelling up doesn't increase stats automatically, but you get points to spend.
- You have to pay in game money to save the game, I believe the system is. Not a fan of that as I prefer saving often.
Overall - a very good effort at developing a nice little adventure RPG with a good amount of variety. Despite some concerns, it's fairly easy to see past these as the game is very enjoyable. This game is very fairly priced as I think it's worth about £5/$8, but is available for less. Thank you to the developer for creating this game and giving me a chance to review.
My rating 6.5/10 - 65%. Recommended for RPG and adventure fans.

Killed by a bat on the 3rd screen...
I am old enough to remember Dragon Warrior(Dragon Quest in Japan), which was a terrific game in 1986. This brough back memories of that game, the need to level grind in apparent in that same style. This is a game that will throw you back to the days of simple RPG that the NES had to offer.
What a fun game. The English is impeccable (must be the author's first language, YAY, although that's not a dealbreaker for me), the storyline is clever, easy to follow, and logical. There is a procedurally generated path, although you do come up with surprises along the way (I hate randomly generated/sandbox games). There is a good variety in the monsters, in how you can appy your experience points, in how you can equip yourself, in how you can attack, and in which items to use, but it's not overwhelmingly difficult. In fact, I appreciate the realistic level of difficulty (on some games I get frustrated if I die and can't get past a certain point). I haven't finished the game, but I'm REALLY enjoying it so far (I think I'm in the 4th level of the cave, and I'm up to level 5 for my character). I wish we could "subscribe" to various authors/creators so we could be notified when they publish new games. If anyone knows how to do this, or if it's even possible on Steam, please reply :)
This little gem does exactly what it says on the tin.
For less than the price of a pint of beer you get about 4-6 hours of decent gameplay.
The story is basic and reasonably well written and the game moves along at a decent pace. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing super special here, but it does it's job well and there's enough to pass an occasioanal evening if you fancy something light and casual.
I never encountered any problems and as far as i could tell, it appears to be bug-free.
I would recommend this game for the main reason i stated above. It's a pleasant way to spend an evening if you feel like something light.
