Não consegui jogar por mais de uma hora. Enquanto a estética e premissa é legal, eu nunca encontrei um jogo que me desse tanta tontura. É um jogo extremamente curto, porém a branquidão e também o filtro enevoado em tudo me causaram dor de cabeça e irritação nos olhos. O combate é meio repetitivo, e enquanto os personagens ou até o mundo é legalzinho de ver, porém vi problemas quanto a esquiva (que achei bastante inútil porque a corrida consegue de algum jeito ser mais efetiva em desviar) e o jeito como certos inimigos parecem uma esponja de dano mesmo com o uso da espada.
this is a short game, but its amazing. it gives a kind of found footage kinda vibe with the graphics, and the gameplay is really fun!

A souls game stripped back to only the most essential elements. It proves that often less is more. The sound and visuals create a very eerie and original setting, and I end up coming back to play it again.

EXTREMELY BUGGY!!!
Brume is filled with visual and audio bugs, In an hour and a half of playing I’ve been out of bounds, I’ve towered over everything with elongated legs, my ui has disappeared, my inventory has gone blank and i’ve had to put up with a lot of audio jank, and a couple of looping audios that made me restart the game twice. I want to start off with this, because it’s the buggiest Sokpop game I’ve played and it does make the overall experience quite frustrating. If you have no tolerance for bugs then definitely don’t buy it.
The level design is very meh, but I do like that it starts out pretty open and lets you choose from a couple of paths. Focused simplicity is one of sokpops strengths, but I do wish there was a bit more of environmental interaction. Also could’ve done with a rest point closer to the final boss.
The combat is once again simple and a bit janky, but I still enjoyed it. I wish there was a bit more difference between the weapons and that it played a bit more with the strengths and weaknesses of each type and a tiny bit more enemy variety would have also been appreciated. Because some of the places are a bit cramped the camera can be a bit annoying as well.
So with all the bad stuff out of the way. I still gotta say I really liked this one, as a dark souls fan I think sokpop did something unique with the formula that stays true to who they are, but that also nailed the vibes, cautious curiosity and feeling of achievement of a fromsoft game.
The art style, music and atmosphere are spot on, and though understated I still liked the enemy design.
It's a world with more potential in my opinion. I would love it if they ever decided to make a sequel that was a bit more ambitious, and lot more polished and bug free.
Does NOT have full controller support, despite what the Steam page claims. You have to use the keyboard to navigate menus, and worse than that, you can't turn using a controller, only strafe. That makes it effectively unplayable with a controller.
If you're not going to support controller input, fine, but don't lie about it in the features.

Short game with an easy learning curve, the aesthetics are cool, worth buying during discount.
This game is great. Silent Hills and Dark souls mixed together.
Short version : A very short and basic open-world-exploration-combat game, that tries hard to pass as a Souls-like but fails miserably.
Long version : Like every Sokpop game, this feels like a demo, and like most Sokpop games, there's almost no content and what's there is mediocre at best.
- If you are here looking for a Souls-like, be warned this plays nothing like one. Enemies have no concept of stamina and can and will block indefinitely while you can't. They can block your attacks from behind, so positionning yourself properly is almost useless. It boils down to dodging attacks sideways and praying the game doesn't instuct the enemy AI to block too quickly and too often.
Also for some reason, your screen goes darker when you dodge.
- There are less than 15 enemies in the whole game, not counting the spiders and the slugs that litter your path and that you can totally ignore. Notice that I said less than 15 "enemies" and not "enemy types".
- Some enemies "require" to be damaged by a certain type of weapon (that all play the same btw) even though there are no stats or information in your inventory. For example, I just guessed (thanks to Dark Souls) that a heavy enemy with big armor who was invulnerable to my sword had to be attacked with a blunt weapon.
- The final boss is a joke due to the fact that he is the only one who doesn't block or dodge and doesn't have a special attack.
- Now if you are looking for an open-world-exploration game and can't wait to spend about 45 minutes walking in a handful of flat corridors to collect 2 or 3 keys to access the final boss, this is your game.
Overall a pretty mediocre and short game, absolutely not worth the asking price of 10€, and even for a 10th of that you can find way better games during Steam sales.
It is okay at best. Definitely cannot recommend.
I love the graphics even though the fog/distance effects are really crappy.
Combat is super primitive even for a Dark Souls inspired game.
Why is there no save point near the final boss? You are forced to travel so long after every time you die.
Even with all the upgrades I found the game to be too hard and too grindy. Most bosses feel like I only beat them by finding some sort of exploitation other than strategically or skillfully.
The game is a bit too cryptic, it essentially works that there is this tiny open world, most bosses are unbeatable, you find a new weapon and you can suddenly deal good damage to one of the bosses, but it is mainly a guessing game. Since the game is tiny, it's okay, but if it was twice as big, this guessing would become a big problem.
Overall: it is somewhat fun, but too flawed to be worth playing.

When I started, I really wanted to be able recommend this game or at least say I was neutral on it, but on... I actually hate this game. The graphics are amazing and actual foundation of the combat is solid, but it fails at just about everything else. There is little to no story, the game fails to tell you, about several mechanics, your stamina is way too low to be useful, enemies do to much damage, you get locked into the bad ending to easily, the game world is too small to have enough enemy variety, the hit detection is broke, the camera gets suck on the walls during the final boss, and you can't manually lock on to enemies. Maybe I just stuck at this game, but I've beaten many soul-like's before without issue. Worse yet, I encountered a game braking bug that took away the HUD as I was fighting the final boss. And even with all that, It still only took me two hours. There are probably still worse souls-like's out there, but in a world with Black Myth: Wukong, Salt and Sanctuary, Lies of P, Blasphemous, Blue Fire, Dead Cells, Little Witch Nobeta, Unworthy, Dark Devotion, Death's Door, and especially Another Crab’s Treasure, I don't know why you'd play this.
I enjoyed, despite nearly smashing my keyboard to bits a few times. it was fun, but probably would have been even more fun if the hit boxes were a bit more accurate, and the controls a hair less wonky. Still glad i sunk 4 hours into it, was fun.
game can be permanently bugged for some people, where the game starts up and goes to a black screen with some text that you cant proceed from. this is a known issue and nothing has been done to fix it in a long time. best to avoid unless they actually decide to fix it
Okay, neat game. Nice atmosphere, tho the zoom in at every thing of interest if over used, and kinda lame. It screams look at me, it would be much better to guide the player organically to the thing, or if it was some cool animated thing like with FromSoft bosses. As is, kinda wastes my patience. For $2.5 I don't regret the purchase, it did tide me over while Lies of P was downloading.

A fun little adventure game with a very interesting art style and surprisingly tight combat mechanics! There's not much depth to them, but there's enough variety to keep your attention to the end. Cinematic shots introduce new areas, points of interest, and bosses. It can get a little annoying at times while exploring the world at your own leisure to suddenly have the camera snatched away from you. Also, there's very few settings, including no way to rebind your keys (or check them).
I enjoyed taking my time to appreciate the environmental design and atmosphere of this mysterious world. There's no dialogue, so the story is told through cinematics and the environment around you. I love that! The lack of music is disappointing though. The extra challenging game modes were great and really made me put in some work to 100% this thing (a normal playthrough is only about 1 hour long). Overall, there's a lot of areas where it could be improved. 6/10 worth waiting for a sale
It's surprisingly good, the animations are silly, but the combat system works well, and the game is very light weight, a good sokpop game!

Short but sweet.
The Good:
I love the aesthetic and how it gives an ominous tone with everything. Reminds, me of "No one lives under the lighthouse" and the sound design of the game. Very sweet and short and may pick up again for my souls-like urge. It felt like nice pacing and not asking too much. Very simple and easy to follow.
The Bad:
Janky *ss hit boxes at times. It was hard at first knowing where to go but got the hang of it fast. Wish there was more variety of weapons. But most of all, a place to rest outside of the castle. I didn't want most of my playtime running everytime back and forth.
The Ugly:
I hate how most souls-like games have very difficult achievements. It's already designed to be difficult. Even official FromSoftware achievements don't have the "Bare-hand only run" or something along those lines.
Conclusion:
All in all I really enjoyed the game with how ominous it is. The style and setting is great. Just think it needs slight adjustment for hit boxes and rest area placement. I can see myself coming back to this game for the souls-like itch.

NO LO RECOMIENDO A CUALQUIER PERSONA. Tampoco con eso de que te gustará si te gusta Dark Souls porque, más allá de un combate lento, no tiene muchas más cosas que lo hagan interesante. Es una buena experiencia y muy corta (completado en una hora y sin morir XD). Mas la carencia de variedad en clases y armas (solo tienes a un personaje y varias armas, una que hace más daño que la otra pero unas armas dañan a X tipo de enemigo), no existen las estadísticas (solo subes de nivel el daño que haces con X arma), el mapa no es muy memorable (como 7 zonas que puedes explorar en 20 segundos, que abren con llaves y eso) y historia nula (no te cuentan mucho, así como no te explican mucho de cómo avanzar) hacen que este juego me parezca bueno dentro del contexto de ser un juego pequeño y una experiencia entretenida, pero nada más. Para eso, juega otro juego de Sokpop llamado White Lavander que es mil veces mejor como juego en general y es más parecido a un Dark Souls.
I think this one does a worse job at emulating dark souls mechanically than white lavender does, everything is a little clunkier and unexplained in a frustrating way. the bloodborne-like "rally" mechanic based around healing via your enemies spilled blood is a good idea though!
THE GAME IS UNPLAYABLE AS IT IS BUGGED AND YOU CANNOT GET PASSED THE FIRST SCREEN, I PLAYED ONCE BACK IN 2021, GOT OFF, AND COULD NEVER PLAY AGAIN. DO NOT BUY WHATEVER YOU DO! EDIT: so if you go into local roaming you can see in a folder called brume a file called steam cloud save, it is a funny lie and you have to delete it. you are back to square 1 and have to beat the game in one go or its busted again. still a scam, do not buy.

so i purchased white lavendar a little while back from these guys and liked it. it's a very short souls game with simple mechanics and a unique artsyle and environment to go off of and play through. the games are simple, for some reason i found this game more calming and you can run through it a couple times pretty quickly if you want to get all achievements, especially when you remember where to go and what not. the combat is very traditional and simple, and it works throughout the entire game. these guys always sell these games very cheap and they are very short and you can easily get your money's worth. fair and fair for both sides with their budget and our wallets. recommended for souls fans and those who want a unique artstyle and small world!

Before getting into anything for this review, one thing should be known, atmosphere trumps all. Brume is founded solely on it's desolate lonely atmosphere reminiscent of movies by director Robert Eggers such as the Witch and the Lighthouse. Right from the get go the presentation is put front and center, the art style combined with the unconventional aspect ratio really make it feel like you're in some sort of fantasy art house film. You as a player are trapped on the outside forced to look into a world that you know nothing about. It's a really interesting feeling that works perfectly and helps contribute to that sense of exploration that this game prides itself on. You really aren't given any directions or objections and it's up to you to figure out how things work and where to go. It truly feels like a journey across an unexplored land where the odds are against you as you start off with just a wooden stick and slowly build up your arsenal. Combat isn't anything to write home about, it's fairly simple as you repeat the cycle of dodge and attack. Although combat overall is fairly negative, it never got annoying or frustrating as exploring and finding new items kept me constantly enthralled. The game is perfect in length as well, barely scratching a few hours for just one play through, closer to 6-7 hours to do absolutely everything. With the game as short as it is, nothing ever over stays it's welcome and you never get bored. Boss fights are also pretty fun as well, with some of them even have some interesting mechanics to help differentiate the fight. The game even has fun little challenges to attempt on subsequent runs to push players to step outside their comfort zone. I would say this game is absolutely worth the price and is a fun little adventure.

Smoll souls-like experience with "solid enough" mechanics. You can play through it twice, as there are two endings, but there's hardly any difference in the runs themselves. Not much depth in combat, but the familiar attack-dodge-attack rythm is fun.

A quick, short, souls-like RPG stripped down to bare necessities with bizarre setting and graphics. It barely passes all of the check marks of a game but I feel that this is what makes it unique. Sometimes less is more and the simplicity of this little game made the experience so well put. I'd hate if this game was more than it is or if it was even a tad bit longer. Reminds me of the student project games that often are more daring in exploring ideas for a game.

For the price this game is very good. Very short but very good. It'd be nice to have better default controls tho, I found myself often hitting R1 to attack instead of R2 by mistake.
I love adventures. This one held a sense of wonder and discovery like a carrot over the head of this here donkey. Even with wonky donkey hitboxes, just hold your shield and shadow slip to the right til backs are exposed, then whack some back. Can't get more than 1 with a knife? Switch to a spoon or stick or get down with the club and whack back. Not even shadows can stand a good back whackin'. Worth every moment and penny (which no longer exist in my country). I used this well-bristled Brume to clean my dirt-nasty room. Cleanliness is godliness for donkies.

Simple is fine, but the combat is pretty terrible. Enemies will attack faster than normal to punish most normal attacks, you can't lock on until you get hit, and the game feels pretty bad on keyboard and mouse. Can't recommend except for maybe 30 minutes of fooling around.

the art is really cool, the sound design is s tier, but the attacks are barely telegraphed if they are telegraphed at all. The controls would lend themselves to a slow and meticulous souls, which this definitely is not. it feels like the game wants me to stand around doing nothing for most of combat while the enemy has fun. I haven't been able to dodge a single attack so far and I am a veteran of the souls series. If they made the enemies telegraph their attacks better, id have a great time with this game as its aesthetic is just what I want from a game.

Very fun little stamina action game. BEWARE: There's a game-breaking bug that prevents you from starting where you left off after closing the game partway through a run. It seems to happen and go away at random, and the devs haven't acknowledged it. I advise you try to get to the end in one sitting. Shouldn't take you longer than an hour or two at most. Beyond that, there's some fun extra challenge modes to help hone your skills that I really recommend trying out on subsequent playthroughs. Highly recommended to any fans of the Fromsoft Soulsborne games

Brume è un Dark Souls portato ai minimissimi termini. Del resto, i Sokpop Collective sono un team di programmatori con ritmi di sviluppo di un gioco ogni due settimane, per quanto incredibile.
Non so precisamente quanto ci abbiano messo per Brume, ma il risultato è molto apprezzabile. Ci viene proposto uno scenario piccolo ma segue la ricetta del genere, con combattimenti incentrati principalmente sui boss e molto enfatizzati. Purtroppo anche tutti molto simili e lì si poteva fare molto di meglio.
Il gioco si presenta superpixelloso e con colori suggestivi che sono coadiuvati da un riuscito audio design. L'atmosfera è peculiare ed azzeccata.
Consigliato anche se, dato che si conclude in poco più di un'ora, solamente in saldo.

This game only lasts around an hour if you don't do the challenge runs, about 2 if you do the fun ones, and 3.5 if you also decide to do the stick-only playthrough. There are a lot of really cool ideas here, the healing mechanic, the exploration, the style, corruption, the challenge runs, but there's so much that completely ruins it, like the enemies being able to block in the middle of attacks, or being able to turn around instantly, or the tiny render distance, the bad hitboxes, the length, and the shadow enemies being absolutely atrocious to fight in the stick challenge run. Disappointing, but promising. If a few issues were fixed and the level design was better, this could be a gem, but as is, it's nothing special.

First of all, I think this game is a bit overpriced. It is little more than an hour long, but probably could have gotten through faster had I not been stuck on a particular boss. Thankfully, it sometimes goes on sale for very low (2-3$), though I think 5$ would have been fair considering it's very good.
It's a souls-like, sorta. Like a souls game, if you die or use a checkpoint, all enemies respawn. Unlike one, however, is that there is no "souls", nor any currency. Instead you collect blood from [alive] enemies for every blow you land, which heals you. The caveat though, is if you've absorbed too much blood... well, you get "corrupted". This makes you automatically absorb blood and thus makes the game easier, but you'll get the bad ending. If you want the good ending you have to not heal, basically. I couldn't be bothered to get it though.
The audio is really something else. The eerie ambience is really calming and absorbs you into the world. SFX are snappy and punchy and crisp. It really helps combat "feel" good. However, there is no music, though this is fine for this small chill game. The only exception are the little vignettes that play when entering a zone for the first time, playing a short spooky drone of different tones.
The low fidelity pixelated 3D is a neat esthetic. Few games I can think of have done this. I really think there's potential to develop this style further, flesh it out, make it look a bit nicer. As it stands though it's definitely appealing.
Combat is a bit... too tedious. Enemies have a lot of health and at the start you deal very little damage. What makes it especially boring, though, is that most only have one attack. You have a shield but it's pretty much useless as you can't parry and instead can just dodge. An effective tactic is simply to dodge-hit-dodge-hit, but it's not very fun and enemies will still often block, stretching the battle even longer.
Bosses are also pretty bland. There is a witch with a very specific way to defeat. After wasting some time on it, not managing to do any real damage and killing a bunch of its spawned enemies, I figured it I must have been missing some item to defeat it. However I went around everywhere I could and couldn't find said solution. It's only because of remembering fighting Ganondorf that I finally figured it out. This wasn't obvious in the slightest and I imagine many player may get stuck here.
Another thing that irked me were the ghost enemies. These can actually be hit with normal weapons, for 1 damage, which doesn't make much sense. Imo they should have gone through them harmlessly, since they're ghosts, clearly indicating to the player they need something else elsewhere.
In the end though, finally figuring it out and beating enemies that had previously gave me a hard time felt very satisfying.
Final zone was pretty anti-climactic and the final boss was kind of a pushover. It seemed like the dev kinda stopped caring about that part of the game.
But yeah, check this game out, it's pretty cool, but pretty short!
I would recommend this game, if I could actually finish it. I can't seem to play this anymore. Every time I open it up, I am stuck on glitched screens, with no way to do anything, but exit. If you're willing to take that risk, then by all means. It is a wonderfully simple & unique game, of which I have enjoyed the time spent. My only issue being what I mentioned.
Hidden gem! What a gorgeous game. Wearing good headphones while playing this for the first time was a great decision, the ambient sounds combined with the ominously cozy art-style really pull you in.
The combat reminds me of Zelda and souls games; it's simple enough to never become cumbersome, while having enough room to improve on the basics to keep you interested. The exploration also reminds me of early Zelda games, where it seems like exploration for exploration's sake, without some bothersome overarching demand pulling you along. The environmental storytelling is probably enough to string together lore, but it is light enough that Brume still feels like your classic adventure game.
For such a relatively short game (my first run was 1 hour 15 minutes), it invites a lot of replays (different endings, certain-weapon-only challenges, etc). I will say that the combat has more to it than you first expect: if you really hit a wall, [spoiler] try using a different weapon, or finding a new one altogether [/spoiler]. Honestly, its nuts that the dev could distill such a rich experience in such a small game. Maybe its the fighting mechanics, or the hints of lore, or just the fog, but Brume feels a lot bigger than I expected it to.
Game can be permanently broken if you happen to quit before beating the game (takes you to a load screen with your save, but nothing happens, no buttons can be pressed, uninstalling and deleting game folders does not work).
Not sure what causes it, how common it is, and there's no current fix, but it has happened to various people if you check discussions. Cool game but make sure to beat it in one setting to avoid this issue, as sadly I was not able to do this.
This doesn't strike me as a game that had more pollish or content than the ones in the packs.

I love this game, the combat is great, the atmosphere is fantastic, like Dark Souls on the Gameboy Advance. I just wish there was more. This could be the first episode or chapter for more parts of a much bigger game.
I don't often review games but since this is a low-key indie I thought I would.
Brume is a fleeting retro, souls-like adventure game. The style is unmatched by any piece of media on the platform, evoking a sense of nostalgia for a game, and a world, that is completely new and unique. There is no direct storytelling, yet the game makes you feel guilt and remorse for your actions, through short cinematics, gameplay and the harrowing shadows that enemies leave upon death.
This game was £3.99 during the most recent sale, but I'd say that it was well worth the full £10 for just how brilliant this little gem is. It's only an hour if you don't care for playing it multiple times, but it's a great time regardless. Play Brume

I love this game. It's a bit cumbersome at times but so beautiful and has a great atmosphere and good combat.
I just wish I could play it again.
After closing it for the first time every subsequent launch of the game brings up a completely bugged amalgamation of the main menu and pause menu that I can't interact with. uninstalling the game doesn't work. repairing files doesn't work. I looked up the bug online and apparently there is no solution, either the game works more than once for you or it doesn't.
I only played it for a short time but I really, really enjoyed what I was able to play and it's frustrating that I'm now locked out of the rest of it.

This game is a whole lot of fun, it has a dark souls like feel with how the combat plays and the movement in this game is super smooth.
The game takes about 45min to beat, but is a lot of fun to speed run. (can be ran in about 6-7 minutes) might be a bit expensive for the amount of gameplay and total play time, but a lot of fun if you're interested.
When they were stripping down the souls-like genre into it's bare necessities, they forgot to smooth down the rough edges. From game-breaking bugs to serious inconsistencies and weird design choices, this about hour long experience is not worth the full asking price.

This game makes such a virtue out of simplicity and brevity. It really uses its oblique nature and visuals to create a sense of mystery, providing a great experience without overstaying its welcome. The somewhat plodding, unforgiving battles and heavily pixelated, hazy environment created a really great sense of atmosphere and feeling. The game could be a little janky, but there was nothing unmanageable. One of the few games I can think of where the "bad" ending feels perfectly fitting. I found the whole thing entrancing. You should play it.
If this game were any longer, I wouldn't recommend it. Part of the enjoyment comes from its simplicity.
