THIS IS SUCH A CUTE GAY GAME!I'm really enjoying the story. my only concern is forced monogamy but i guess that allows for replays.
I loved this game. I wish there was a 2nd one.
Хочу ещё QWQ
When this game first came out, there was a kerfuffle about some of the subject matter in it. I avoided it at that time. I'm glad I did; I would have been too raw about it at the time. They handle it well, and it would have hit too close to home. I'm also glad I came back to it. It's a fun story, and I really enjoyed the fact that you can max out relationship with someone without sleeping with them.
cute artsty style, diverse characters and some eepy creepy dude that reminded me of my ex.
Gameplay was dope and really fun and music slapped.
9/10 because of eric +1 due to accurate display of cats.
Holy freaking crap Lois this game is EPIC
super funnn dating sim
This was very fun. I liked all the characters and the dungeons themselves. Wish the game was a bit longer and that the gameplay in the dungeons was a bit more involved, but I still really enjoyed myself. For my first dating sim, it was a little awkward at first, but I got used to the vibe pretty quickly. I wish there was more in dungeon dates and that getting the correct gift for each person created a more unique interaction, but I'm very happy with my purchase. Definitely worth the $17 I spent. :)
genuinely had so much fun with the characters and story
I got this game on a whim because it was on sale and it is SO MUCH FUN! Though the name is slightly misleading, because there are girlfriends and partners in the dunj too haha
probably one of my favorite roguelikes. the characters are interesting, the story is good, and the gameplay is great. so happy I found this by accident
This is such a great game to get someone to transition from a dating sim to a dungeon crawler. The dungeon crawler aspect is not as difficult as many dungeon crawlers tend to be so it's approachable to someone who may not have much experience with the genre. The characters are not only diverse in design but diverse in their goals and personalities, each character feels different even through their text messages. I really appreciated the fact you could date multiple weapons at once and the game allows you to explore every single option before the end boss fight.
Overall it was really well acted, well animated and well paced game that allows you to be a part of the other characters lives as much as they are a part of yours. The writing balances suspension of disbelief with very grounded story elements very well. Its a fun and interesting introduction to the world of dungeon crawling. Whether you're a newbie or a seasoned veteran to the genre you'll get something out of playing this game. A solid 7.8 out of 10
not normally the gameplay I'd go for, but it was quick and not too grind heavy, with enough story inbetween to make me want to do it again
this may shock you but there's not a whole lot of datable women in this game. still quite good though
Turns out, you can't date the Danger Twink
It's a very focsu expereince, they knew what they wanted to do with the game and they did it. what they did is good, the dunegon and combat isn't very deep but it very solid and the characters are intresting, it short legenth is a plus because it makes the game feel dense and the pacing matches it very well so theres not a lot of time of down time you're awlasy talking to the boyfriends or doing the dungeons.
Boyfriend Dungeon.
Interesting premise with the weapons, but the game is pretty dull and repetitive. Also, the romance line-up is mostly ugly, which is probably due to the wokeness the creators tried to push in the game. This includes they/thems, a shey/they and a fat bloke.
I'm not usually into hack n slash but this was fun. The characters and world are bizarre (in the best ways) and entertaining.
It was a bit shorter than I expected, but I'm pretty sure I got it on sale long ago. At least 5 hours of my playtime was just me being terrible at this type of game, but once i switched to controller and got the hang of it I had a blast. I liked needing to rotate weapons regularly, it kept things fresh.
I would have enjoyed if certain parts of the stories would have gone deeper and others had been less lingered over, and I was a bit disappointed not to get an epilogue, but that's what headcanons are for. The dating dynamic was a bit odd, just a giant messy poly blob of love. Eventually I just decided everyone else must be dating each other too.
Silly and fun, I do recommend it.
Super recomendo.
If you do nothing else before buying this game, listen to the soundtrack. Marskye's compositions are enough to compel anyone to play this game. That said, there's a lot more to love here if you pick it up, so let's talk about that. I should note that I have beaten this game three times on three different platforms, but I will try my best not to be biased.
The very first line that you'll read about this game is "Date Your Weapons" which is intriguing, right? How do you date your weapons? Well, the premise is that all of the datable candidates are actually weapons that can turn into humans, which lends itself well into some of the writing about being held, wielded, or otherwise handled as a weapon, or a person. As the MC (male or female), you have moved to a new town to tackle your fears about dating, and what better way to do that in a fresh town, with hot new singles to meet. But not all is what it seems as someone knows about people who can turn into weapons, and is intentionally breaking/damaging/weapon-napping them to keep them from existing in the world.
It sounds super weird. And I'll be honest, it is. But it /works/ in an equally weird way. I actually really love that they took this genre which has been inundated with a lot of the same and somehow found a way to add a unique twist to it that you really won't get many other places.
Combat can get a little drab. While there are several weapons to choose from, and they all handle a little differently, you'll find most of your time within the dungeons will consist of you dodging and mashing the ever living crap out of your attack button. There's no skill dodges, and there's not really a lot of complexity to the combat, but I was actually quite okay with this. Most of the time I didn't even WANT to be in combat because I just wanted to explore the story and the relationship paths with the weapons.
As I mentioned above, the music is absolutely phenomenal, and arguably the best part of the game. It works really well for the game, but I listen to it multiple times a week outside of the game, because it's just one of those OSTs you can put on and never touch it again. I'm listening to it right now while I write this. I had no idea who Marskye was before this, but now I'd recommend his music to anyone, anywhere, for any reason.
I like games that add more inclusivity into the mix. Not everyone is a SWM LF SWF, and this game does a good job adapting to that. I'd argue that it is slightly geared more towards women, but I didn't have a problem with enjoying the game despite that. What I enjoyed about it though is that the interactions felt natural, and real. Often, when you find a game that wants to be progressive, they have these really awkward and uncomfortable moments that don't feel real, but this didn't have that problem. Take this with a grain of salt because I don't qualify for any of the acronyms or initials represented in this game, aside from the fact that I'm a POC.
I agree with most reviews that the game felt too short, even with the expanded content, but I attribute that to the fact that I just wanted more in general. I hated every time I completed the game because I just wasn't ready for it to be over, but that's not a bad thing. I would rather be finished and have wanted more than to finish and feel like I spent way too much time on it.
All said, the game is an absolute gem, and one that's worth adding to your library if you like dungeon crawlers, dating sims, or anything in between. This game will be one that resonates with me for a long time to come.
Also I may or may not have had a massive fictional crush on Valeria AND I'M NOT EVEN ASHAMED.
For what It was I enjoyed this game. For a 20$ game I expected it to be way longer as I've bought other visual novels for cheaper that were x4 the length of this but the music and characterization were a real treat. I will say If you're someone who likes to play every route (unlike me) you'll enjoy it and get your money's worth.
I really hope that in the future there will be some sort of after-story DLC because as they are the routes don't feel super satisfying. My guy basically said "See you whenever I see you" and then that was it. Why couldn't we get a extra 15 minute chapter with them? As it stands I'll give this game a positive review but It's teetering on a negative just for price point alone.
Gameplay Genre: Dungeon crawler with dating sim aspects
Story Genre: Mystery/romance
Story/Gameplay Ratio: 1:1
**Gameplay**
Ideas: 8/10 | Using visual novel-style relationship levels to expand dungeon-crawler mechanics is genuinely a really interesting idea, and on top of that, they have a wide range of different available play styles to pick from.
Execution: 9/10 | I loved the way different playstyles were implemented, and how they matched the specific weapon they were attached to. The actual dungeon crawling feels fun and not too repetitive while still being familiar.
**Story**
Ideas: 8/10 | Solid, if maybe a little tropey. Strong concept that matches the gameplay feel and setup well.
Execution: 7/10 | I wasn't especially engaged, but it was an effective story. Not particularly *enthralling*, but certainly not boring.
**Characters**
Ideas: 8/10 | A wide enough range for each character to be unique and interesting, without being so vastly different that you question how they ended up in the same town.
Execution: 9/10 | Pretty good character writing that dodges the dating sim pushiness very cleanly- you could almost just play this as a regular dungeon crawler, and even then the characters would still come off as interesting and fun.
**Visuals**
Ideas: 6/10 | This one was difficult to rate. The character sprites aren't that unique of a style, and neither is the actual art of the game, but the designs of the enemies and environments have some excellent concepts behind them.
Execution: 8/10 | Regardless of my thoughts on the style, the game does a very good job at being appealing. Enemies, items, characters, and environments all successfully differentiate from each other, and there are no designs in this game that I actively *dislike*.
Cohesiveness: 9/10 | A fairly solid construction, with clear throughlines and no confusion.
Personal Favor: 8/10 | I like this game! I don't know that I'd put it super high on the ranking of every game I've ever played, but it's still pretty good.
**OVERALL RATING:** 7/10
a delightful dating sim and dungeon crawler. It's not too deep of a dungeon crawler and it might get repetitive near the end but I truly enjoy all the romance options so it's worth it. I will think of Rowan and Sawyer and Leah affectionately
So fun! This was exactly what I was looking for!
Really fun, love most of the characters, main complaint is it's too short. If it was like a 30 or 40 hour game with a little deeper combat, it would be a 10/10 for me. Still totally worth a play if you like a game where you can smooch lotsa people who also happen to be various weapons.
Date your sword!
Or pet the claws that turn into a cat. That, too.
I'm not sure there is another dating sim like this one to be able to romance every weapon at once while fighting. I enjoyed each unique aspect of it.
The controls are a bit difficult, but overall it's a fun game
As people have and will talk about it's a mash of dating sim and dungeon rougelike and imo, it's a great 'baby's first ___' for both genres. As an avid dating sim player, the only things that bothered me how progression was marked, like thought it would be a generic 'summer' timeline but it went on quickly.
Maybe a small pop up would have saved a lot of worries or headaches. Otherwise, as somebody with a laptop and whose reflexes are ♥♥♥♥, after some button remapping (check the little controller and mouse on the bottom and change it up, if you don't have a mouse like me, just changed it to two keyboard keys like I was playing Cuphead) this was a great game for me to experience games like Hades without being thrown in the deep end and losing all frustration.
While Sunder's story leaves MUCH to be desired with its ending, the others are amazing. The voice work is cute/decently done, the style is very pleasing to the eyes and I never felt too overwhelmed, By the end I was going through dungeons and enemies without much worries.
Some stuff I wish was better implimented from the dating sim side was stuff like being able to repeat gifts that you crafted since you can have a ton of materials, instead of only being able to buy a few ones over and over. The lighthouse was a life saver though, I am giving it that.
I kinda wish the map wasn't you walking around and you could click through locations, but seeing characters interact outside of scenes was a nice thing for you to keep an eye on and pay attention to the map.
This isn't an amazing or perfect dating sim, neither an amazing or perfect rougelike, but imo considering how much they crammed in, giving all (*coughs*) almost all interesting character arcs (I esp loved Isaac-took him to the boss even), their designs were cool and the two enby characters were fun! I am happy to see more enby rep wherever I go in the romance scene, as well as being able to choose your outfits, pronouns etc
If you are on the fence, I say buy it at a discount, I spent 11 hours getting almost everything and it was a nice game to boot up and play.
Loved the story and the characters.
No, just no, it's really made with heart and passion, but if u regular human. Not LGBTQ+ who want to rebel against rich, heal the world and other ♥♥♥♥. It's just dont worth your time, as a game it's boring clicking through all dungeon, as a novel it's stereotyped as f characters who just represent some social position.
Very cute and enjoyable! A little corny but in a way that makes you smile more than roll your eyes--the right amount of cheese. I didn't love every character but I was at least interested enough in them to see where their story ended and the one's I did enjoy, I very much enjoyed. I am terminally bad at roguelites so it did make me a little sad that my favorite character to date was my worst weapon to use so sorry Jonah, I couldn't beat the game with you!! I'm usually more into the long form dating sims where you narrow it down and focus on one character at a time but I still had a good time dating the whole town. I do also appreciate that you can have characters just be friends instead of romantic! I'm in my later 30s and Sawyer felt SO YOUNG so I was happy I could just shake their hand and be their big sister instead. Also appreciate that it wasn't too hard to navigate the conversations---I adore dating sims but I am also autistic and sometimes really mess them up cause I miss the tone or implications. Usually I have to dig up a guide to save myself from getting a million bad endings in a row--especially if the game is more silly and tongue in cheek but I made it through pretty easily! I think that's where things being a bit more corny and unsubtle kinda worked in my favor.
Cute little game that's 10ish hours. Nothing is that deep and I really liked the music. It's like a summer romance book with a side of dungeon crawling. I thought the two aspects of the game were balanced well and created a compelling gameplay loop. I liked that I didn't have to romance the characters and could just be friends. Each character has a mini story arch that plays out as you level their affection. The game is simple enough that I didn't need a guide to make sure I saw all the content by selecting certain dialogue. There's no wrong dialogue option so I could just enjoy the ride. Though that means there's no replayability value.
The head pieces give bonuses in dungeons but clothing does not, so I didn't care to make or collect clothing. I didn't feel the need to engage with the gift system since dungeon crawling boosted affection levels plenty and there aren't that many levels to max out a relationship.
so addictive I can't stop playing
fun game fun concept thanks
Fun! Good for a single playthrough - I don't know that I could go back to it, and the curve at the end is ROUGH but I still had fun and enjoyed all the characters!
Consider this a qualified rec.
It's fun but a bit short. If you like this kind of thing, you could probably get some joy out of it. It'd be nice to see a more substantial sequel.
very fun to play! i've already played this game like 4 times because the characters are so lovable and the gameplay is cool
i don't know how to explain it. but i need to ♥♥♥♥ that sword.
want more of this unique charakters!
I FINALLY GOT THE HARDEST ACHIEVEMENT. NOW I HAVE 100% COMPLETED THE GAME.
I have had this game for a while. When I was buying the game, I was intrigued by the concept, but mostly captivated by the art.
I am still very much in love with the art of this game, I listen to the soundtrack AAAAALLLLL the time.
I love Pocket. When you have him equipped for the dunj, he will meow and purr occasionally and when you move you leave behind little paw prints. I loooove it.
The puns in the achievements are fun, the characters are their own identity (no two characters are the same personality), and mostly a relaxing game, EXCEPT THE MINI GAME *flips table* anger aside I do like the mini game.
The dating sim for the game was alright, I enjoyed it for the most part, some parts were missing something. The dating sim is surface level, I think it is made that way on purpose, because your character is only there for the summer. The best words I can put it in are “short-term dating sim”. Just in my perspective the ending was like saying goodbye and just walking away from a bunch of new relationships. One thing I found confusing was that that there was friendship dialog, but that everything progressed as romantic regardless, the exception is Pocket as he is a cat. NOW I know it’s a dating sim obviously it’s going to prioritize the romance and in the form of a love rank, but I did not want to romance all of them. I know for simplicity’s sake it makes sense to have one type of bar to gage where your level is with a character, but would it be possible to have the bar a different colour for the cases where you select the friend dialog. If you’re giving me the option to choose to be their friend, the dialog only changes a little, why doesn’t the friendship dialog diverge a bit more from the romantic and scenes to support that, it looks to only really be for romancing all of them. But I am someone that likes to get achievements, so I obliviously romanced them all on a run, just it left me perplexed when comparing runs. Again, I know its a dating sim, and the story is to get your character to date people, but friendship achievements would be fun or add some more depth to the characters, instead of just a line of “oh, I can respect that” and back to the set dialog.
Okay I am not great at dungeon crawlers, so my opinion is probably not the best. I like this dunj part of the game, I did not find it difficult, but I wouldn’t say it was easy either. It does not give you a chance to change the difficulty, so if your looking for a challenging dungeon crawler this is not it. One thing that made it difficult for me was that you could only leave the dunj on levels 3,6, & 9. The only extremely challenging part (for me) was the last dunj, and going against the whip character. The final boss of the game was not as challenging as her test.
THE HARDEST PART OF THE GAME WAS THE MINI GAME. It was the most frustrating part of doing 100% completion.
In summary #/10
Art: 10/10
Music: 10/10 especially Pockets theme
Story: 5/10
Dating sim: 7/10
Dunj: 8/10 (for me)
Controls: 7/10
*pocket is the best weapon hands down, absolutely OP*
[strike] also boyfriend dungeon called me an asexual with a fear of intimacy [/strike]
OK but this game was actually pretty fun and fluffy- the combat system was entertaining and mindless but still challenging at certain times, I had to be dragged out of the dungeons kicking and screaming. As for the visual novel aspect, I liked Seven and Rowan's characters and storylines, though Sawyer felt like a major cliche and warded off any attempts to explore their story past the first or second heart event.
My only gripes were that the dungeon monsters were a bit repetitive and I wished that there were more dungeons to explore, as I enjoyed the underlying psychological tones. But- overall a very fun game, so if you see it on sale definitely give it a try.
I really liked this game. I loved the characters as a fan of unusual dating sims the ten romancable characters made it easy to keep track of. I loved the variety and storylines for each. I don't usual enjoy dungeon crawlers but I loved this one. This game doesn't take as much as other games i've played and took me about 15 hours to 100%, but I only 100% my favorite games. so overall 10/10 would reccomend.
o yeahhhhhh banger alert
This game is both a really bad roguelike and a boring and thinly written dating sim. Neither half of it is well done or fun, or even really finished.
100% Completed -
Sweet and funny. Not a game with consequences or high stakes. Perfect for a laid back gaming session with some extra romance.
Pretty, fun, short game with an addictive gameplay loop: go in the dungeon, fight monsters, earn loot and XP, level up and go on dates with your weapons to maximize their efficiency! While the combat system is a bit lacking in depth, the fact that it only takes between five and eight hours to complete the whole game makes it very easy to forgive its flaws. The dating part is fun enough to make it worth a playthrough!
This game has a lot working for it, and I thoroughly enjoyed playing it. To just see a quick list of pros and cons

Art style (particularly the human-weapon transformations)

Characters (both good and bad) and the dates. Lots of internal conflict you help characters figure out

On-going text messages so it feels like you still have a lot of interaction aside from just the dates themselves

Gameplay was fun for me! I like the different move sets and the variety of weapons to choose from. Sound design made it satisfying to fight and win.

The secret rooms and rest rooms in the dungeon were a delight

Decent voice acting

Lots of really fine details the game remembers on your preferences and your character

I really liked
that they made the vampire the toxic relationship. While vampires are really fun and I like the 'I can fix him' storyline, it's refreshing to see a game where it DOESN'T do that and all the red flags are just that - red flags

Honestly, the thing I wish for is that it had more of what it offered.

The dungeons became pretty easy, and I felt like if it were more difficult, it would lean a bit farther into the rougelite gameplay it was going for.

Story felt like it rocketed forward - I accidentally hit end game the first time I played it super early

Some of the pacing of introductions felt uneven - there was a flood of new characters and then suddenly a random one near the very end that could have easily been missed
Overall - it's a game I wish that had more to it, but it has a lot of considerations for its characters and what it wanted to portray. For all of it's flaws, I'd still recommend it as a fun little roguelite dating sim.
rowannnnnnnnyyummmyumyummmm
god this game is amazing. i dont often play dating games unless they have something really interesting about them. the rougelite rpg side of the game was fun and really cleverly integrated into building you relationship up with the datables. the dateables themselves were also pretty interesting. if i had to find anything bad to say about the game, i felt like the textured artstyle made the characters(especially the dateables) a fair bit older than i think they were intended to look. overall amazing experience that i could help but marathon to 100% in four sittings
Half dating sim, half roguelite-ish dungeon crawler. Neither one is a genre I'm very familiar with but both halves are fun so far. The artstyle doesn't overreach its goals, the abandoned-mall dungeon design is funny and cute, and the gameplay loop is very engaging.
Very nice, great success!
Fun idea. The game has some stuff going for it, especially the transformation scenes and some of the characters designs, but unfortunately it falters in most other areas.
It's both a dating sim and a dungeon crawler, but doesn't spread itself widely enough in either direction for any of them to be particularly worthwhile.
The dungeon quickly becomes button mashing, the only interesting things are the bosses that do bring in some variety for brief moments at least. Movement and combat are finicky and dodging doesn't feel good and often doesn't work, so you learn early on to just rely on an OP weapon and spamming the same combo again and again. The weapons are not designed equal, where for example the axe is completely useless, the lasersaber can clear a dungeon in one sitting alone.
The dating part also isn't very exciting. Each character has some backstory and motivation, some way better developed than others, but you never feel like there's anything really bigger going on here. By being able to date everyone with no repercussion, you cheapen the dating a bit. Of course it's cool to experience everyone's story, and I'm not knocking Polygamy, but there are just no stakes with who you pick and when, ever. Some characters left me extremely disappointed with their stories, especially the axe, one of his scenes was completely nonsensical to me.
I still finished every character and dungeon but didn't care much for the final few I finished, and skipped through the final bits of story. Unfortunately I didn't manage to see the ending because the game kept crashing in a dialogue scene not far after defeating the boss; a fittingly disappointing way to end the game I suppose.
This could have been a lot more, and I'm a bit disappointed by the wasted potential. Maybe a few less characters and some more deep characterization on other ones; Maybe more enemy variety, deeper combat and refined dungeon design could have helped this game.
This is a chiller dating game with fun but not too challenging combat and i love it its got a unique concept as well
Dating Sim meets Dungeon Crawler! By making the weapons you use to fight datable!
As silly as this premise sounds its actually a really fun game. The dungeon crawling mechanic could have had a bit more depth, and the controls where not perfect but all in all this side of the game was still fun,
The highlight was the dating sim side tho, with lots of charming characters and fun dialogue.
What I personally liked is that you can also fully level up each charcter in a friendship route, and since the relationship level-ups make the actual weapon stronger this gave you a lot more variety without having to compromise between the most fun weapon gameplay and who to date. I for example like the Axe the most by far personality-wise but did not enjoy axe-gameplay to much. The Talwar on the other side was fun to use in battle but I would not have wanted to romance the charcter behind it. Just going the friendship route solves this problem!.
my only complained is
not being able to beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of eric
Also, this is pretty niche but something I personally appreciated a LOT
when invited to the bbq you can pick a dialogue option that you are vegan. The game will actually remeber this, and make you eat "impropable burgers" (impossible burgers reference) and mushrooms instead. Also at other food related scenes, like making a grilled cheese with vegan cheese or your mom talking about making you cashew-cheese pizza. I just thought this was actually super sweet
Also Banger Soundtrack
This is such a fantastic game with smooth mechanics and good writing. I can't recommend it enough. The vibe is very much, "Persona, but make it chill."
Fabulous game with rewarding mechanics and a delightful diverse cast of characters. I normally pick axes as my weapon of choice in rougelikes, and Jonah makes me love axes even more <3
Very wholesome game. The whole dungeon thing could have had more depth to it, but I really enjoyed the characters and the dating.
Fun et dynamique, vraiment très sympa !
I didnt expect much of the game, but the mechanics, the stories of the characters and the concept is really interesting, is not a hard game, but surelly a good one to play and chill!
if you like rogue likes and romance novels it is a good game to have fun with~
Boyfriend Dungeon is one of the most fun and interesting dating games I've ever played. Typically I only really just finished one playthrough and call it a day, but I like coming back to this and replay every once in a while.
The romances have good storylines, the game is very queer-friendly, the dungeon and weapons mechanic are super fun to play through. I also really love the art style chosen for the romance sprites and scenes.
It's also a very chill game to 100% on achievements (you can probably do it in one sitting, but I grabbed mine as each playthrough went).
A really strong "recommend" from me!
The controls on Steam Deck are not good and it frankly doesn't feel great to play? The best feedback I have is that the dungeon crawl part of it feels like a cheap iPhone minigame attached onto the side of a pretty mediocre dating sim. The characters are just.... not great, and the mechanic of the swords being people would've been nice if it was executed... at all. What I got instead was dungeon rooms that are quite literally almost impossible to clear with the clunky mechanics and (again I must make clear) GODAWFUL Steam deck controls.
Cute and short.
played to bang a dude, ended up banging a girl. leah is my spirit animal
A unique take on a dating sim with actually quite fun gameplay! The storytelling didn't blow me out of the water, but it was decent and coupled with the gameplay, made it quite fun to max out the character relationships. The (DLC? hidden?) boss was especially fun!
Ending nearly brought me to tears, will definitely play a Boyfriend Dungeon 2 if the devs ever decide to make one. #RowanBestWeapon
This game is great. It's something I've played a few times over the years, and I still enjoyed it. I love the concept and the combat (despite not being into hack-&-slash) and I loved the graphics, art, and soundtrack. I'd say grab it on sale though. I think it'd be reasonably priced around 15$.
Enjoyable game, nice concept, great art!
A dating sim rougelike hybrid wasn't something I thought I needed, but I do. Cozy yet challenging, with a variety of dating options spanning across genders. Although the game appears to occasionally assume a female is playing the game, it rarely references this in dialogue, and the clothing/appearance options allow for a more enby or masc appearance if one wishes.
Simple game play, great dialogue options, fun story. What more could anyone ask for?
I really hate it when developers add an achievement for another mini-game in the game. I bought the game and I want to spend my time completing the achievements of the game itself, not a stupid mini-game.
I had a lot of fun with this. While it has its silly moments (which is to be expected from a weapon dating game!), the romances & overarching story are serious for the most part and handled maturely. I appreciated that there was a touch of realism in amongst the fantasy. The endings for some routes did feel a bit abrupt, or slightly unsatisfying, but the whole more than makes up for the parts that fell short for me. The combat is also surprisingly addictive considering how simple it is.

Banger, super innovative
Holy peak, wholesome game, that was fun to play
I got this on sale because I liked the idea even though the characters were a little outside my usual. But,...I
didn't like most of the characters or the ending, which I had hoped would give some depth. I really hoped there'd be a bit declaration of love after the final boss so I rushed to the end to see if my target gets more intimate (and I don't mean sexually, which is easy to do even when you don't mean to!) but it was not to be.
I didn't expect the tone of the game to be what it was. I knew it was more "modern" but wow. Even though I'm fine with bisexual targets, I don't need literally all of them all to be (and I don't mean they are because the player can be either gender). I was also so shocked and grossed out at the idea of sloppy seconds within the family! Hahaha.
The fighting is ok, but can get boring, especially when you find the same type of break area so the event is identical. The magazines with different specials were nice though. I liked the bug pet.
If you want a sort of brain dead/ lighthearted hack and slash with an entirely promiscuous group of characters that are fine with being fwbs but will not commit to just you, then you'll like this. (I didn't get everyone to 6, so maybe some do care but I honestly didn't want to run the same dungeons when the remaining characters weren't my style, haha.)
I bought this game initially to make fun of it.... I loved it. I loved all the characters, the fact that it was a dungeon crawler with romance tied deeply into it. I loved that the dating was different with every character and that there wasn't a happy ending with every character. I'm so excited to play it again in like 4-5 months when I forget about it and get to experience it once more. It was such a fun/cringe game and I fully suggest anyone snags it (especially when it's on sale)
i love the characters, the dungeon are pretty fun to do, but god are they hard to i wish the rapier was easy to handle. favorite boy it gotta be Jonah and weapon pocket. the princess ant is great but don't get cornered by them or you will get stuck i recommend to do it one at time if you do decide to summon multiple of them make sure its in open space.
This was way more enjoyable than I initially thought! It was ridiculously fun combat, concept, and romance wise. I fell in love with every character as I got to know them! I also loved the option to just be friends and not be "punished" for it.
I recommend getting the game during a sale because as much as I enjoyed it, there is not too much end game content after finishing it once!
That's the only real gripe I have besides the normal human characters being annoying as hell. Definitely still worth trying out!
This is honestly one of my favorite games, I played this first back in like 2021 free on the xbox game pass at a sleepover, stayed up all night trying to beat it. I finally have come back to it after years, and it still hits the same, it's like I did come back to that beach for a reconnection. This is an amazing and fun game, love it <3 The only con I could really give for this game is Eric, ugh he's awful and I know he is made to be awful, but he shows up way too much.
my one and ONLY complaint is the weirdly strong propaganda that this game pushes towards letting cats free roam. It can severely reduce a cat's lifespan, specially since other free roaming and/or feral cats can be very territorial that's not including cars, other animals, illness/disease, accidents, and cruel humans. Outside of that, which is objectively only a fraction of the game, i really enjoy it. the controls could be a bit tighter, which i hope they fix in newer games. (And I really do want to see another game set in this universe by this team.) But otherwise I've been really satisfied with it. But as a cat owner, the message regarding cats really bothers me quite a bit
