This is an incredible game. It let's you do so many things and then you still discover new abilities, interactions or items.
The skill path has so many possibilities it will overwhelm you early on, but when you get it you know you will need to play this game multiple times just to try all the possibilities!
So much thought went into this game I cannot even comprehend how someone can have this creativity. It's so good.

玩法上基本还是凑性向，合成大西瓜，收集和爬树都体验不错
最强大的还是文字表述与世界观塑造，非常感谢汉化组原汁原味的翻译！
50多小时完成了一周目，开了所有房间，但是没做九术登顶，也许将来某天会再回来玩一次，做所有的事件吧
dlc可以开沙龙真的舒服，不怕教诲不够了，但是准备吃的还是好难，主要是没有别的游戏的异次元口袋，所有东西都得找空位码放真的有点折磨了……
最后必须要说的是太感谢wiki的作者们了，没有wiki真的啥也不懂，没有wiki可怎么活啊
Очень не удобная игра. Обучения нет, но даже с ним это не то, что я ожидала. Сама по себе игра очень скучная :-( Не думайте что вы тут увидите секретные знания просто одна цитата на книгу.
P.s - начало игры: я нажимала на все клавиши клавы в попытке понять как сделать первый шаг в игре и ничего не получилось. Почувствуй себя 7леткой за пк как тогда в далёком детстве

The game is chill, but complex. It does not take your hand in any way, and you have to figure things out.
It is a gigantic puzzle, where discovery is on of the two core interest. The other core interest is cataloguing everything, and I mean everything.
If you happen to know how to use Obsidian (the app), and vim. You will end up with a great database of the game... it is in my eye mandatory if you don't want to spend lots of time searching for something, shall you be sufficiently organized in your own database. However, such cataloguing is tedious and takes a lot of time, but if you know vim, you can ease your life a ton.
Love it or hate it, I love it, though for the very first run, yolo things out the time you figure out stuff, then quit and restart, with a much better prehension of why cataloguing everything is necessary.

I apparently have over 500 hours in this game and have never written a review for it, so it feels about time.
The strength of this game lies in its writing, and in the way the mysteries of Hush House are so well integrated into your exploration of the space itself and the objects you find there, even down to lore hidden in one of the time of day descriptions. It's a game of mystery and exploration, and its world will pull you in and make you want more. It's also, because of the depth of the lore and the world, the kind of game I would recommend playing, at least in the beginning, with a notebook by your side, which I liked but may not be for everyone. Unlike companion Secret Histories game Cultist Simulator, which is notoriously stressful, I find BoH incredibly relaxing to play, and I've enjoyed taking my time and taking it all in, and I go back from time to time for another challenge run or when I want to play something comforting.
That said, the mechanics are wildly opaque when you're figuring the game out, and there are a lot of game design decisions made here that I find frankly baffling (why are workstation aspects and inputs so unevenly spread the way they are? Why does the beginning section of the house contain more difficult, more likely to be cursed books than one of the end game sections? Why are there so many crafting items that can't be used anywhere? Why are there so many blank space rooms?). I found the rest of the game strong enough to forgive the strange mechanical choices, and there have been some base game QoL upgrades and additions over the years (some of us remember the dark days before the bronze kitchen knife existed), and the DLC introduced a few, but it's not BoH's strong suit, which is the writing and the world it opens up for you.
Read everything, take your time, and enjoy unraveling the mysteries the house holds.

If you loved Cultist Simulator lore and world building, but wanted a calmer less hectic playstyle, this game is perfect for you.
"So yeah, the librarian paid me in advance 'round 6 AM. But before work, he said 'one more thing,' and gave me a glass of gin. Then he gave me a sardine to eat. Then he gave me some kind of magnifying glass that immediately shattered to bits. Then he walked in with a bouquet of flowers and asked if I was a literary major. I took engineering, so he threw the flowers away and handed me a can of gasoline?
Then he started playing an entire song at me! He pulled out a drum kit and made me watch him do a whole solo. He was quite impressed with himself: 'I actually wrote this last night, and didn't instant forget it when I went to sleep' he said, 'isn't that neat?'
Then it was time to work. I moved a sofa out of a doorway, but it was midnight by then, so I went home."
I have mixed feelings about this game. On one hand, I can play it nonstop for hours, while on the other, my every playthrough ends because I start feeling that everything in the game is kinda pointless. I gave it a year, or two and played it again, and all I can say is that for a game about a library I barely read anything. Most books are just small anecdotes accompanied by an in-universe explanation of a recipe. Supposedly, my librarian learns some useful skills that could be used for crafting and special interactions, but practically, they are just a requirement to read more books to acquire more skills ad infinitum. Also, the house is full of materials, so if you are not afraid to use them, then you don't need to craft as much. I don't think that this game needs some sort of threat, or a loss condition, like in Cultist Simulator, but I always feel like something is missing. In other words, I don't regret my time spent on the game, yet I constantly yearned for more.
Overall pretty fun, when you get the hang of it.

ビジュアルいいし面白そうな感じがするのに、とにかくチュートリアルとか動作説明とかそういうものが全くなくてしんどい。説明がなくてもわかるありふれた単純なゲームってわけでもない。
まだこのゲームの面白いポイントまで辿り着けてなさそうなのに既にしんどい。
先に遊んでて一緒にプレイしてくれる友達がいるとか、好きな配信者がやってるとかだったらいいのかもしれない。
游戏性这块纯粹的折磨合成大西瓜，已经到了无聊的程度。但是游戏的美术和文本这块又非常的顶，系列粉丝向的作品，神秘学爱好者必吃榜。但有一说一，这游戏的游玩过程可以被wiki替代了。

I enjoyed this! I'd recommend it to someone who:
1. Is extremely patient.
2. Enjoys digging for clues with very little guidance.
3. Doesn't mind tons of reading and memorization.
4. Likes Lovecraftian-style stories.
I wouldn't recommend the game to someone who doesn't meet all of this criteria.

Безумно красивый безумно неторопливый гринд.
可玩性其实不强，但是文案很美丽的学畜模拟器，毕竟在现实中不可能同时读八本书同时开会（不过买了dlc才是个完整游戏
虽然和前作一样引入做的很差劲，但是这一作的文本丰富有过之而无不及，可以互动的角色也比前作多而且话题更广泛。正午世界观就在和访客聊天，嘘嘘屋（噤声书局）里打扫房间展开，明明是一个乡下小镇其实也和外界有所联系。不管是司辰间的八卦，还是访客之间的往事，都非常有意思。强烈推荐购入dlc，不仅能提高游玩舒适度，文本上也会更加丰富，还有大厨模拟器（何），总之十分好评，喜欢读文本的真的不能错过。
A la suite de ma première partie terminé, j'ai décidé de laisser un petit commentaire sur le jeu. Détailler ses mécaniques de jeu serait gâcher le plaisir de la découverte. Si le jeu vous intérèsse, c'est à dire que si vous avez lu la description du jeu via Steam sans regarder de vidéo de gameplay, alors vous êtes dans les meilleures conditions pour apprécier le jeu dans sa globalité. J'insiste beaucoup sur la découverte du jeu (histoire et lore), ainsi que sur l'apprentissage et l'expérimentation des mécaniques de jeu. C'est vraiment satisfaisant de découvrir comment fonctionne le jeu par vous-même, ce qui est aussi le cas pour Cultist Simulator.
Je précise qu'il me reste beaucoup de choses à voir dans ce jeu et que j'ai gratté 30% du jeu (et encore ...). Et j'y reviendrai, c'est certain.
Et encore un grand merci à Wareita pour la traduction française qui est très propre.

I really enjoyed every achievement and breakthrough like a kid. I am a bit of a completionist, so towards the end I got a bit tired, but I see that as just a style of play issue, not with the game. Some things could have been better game-wise, like the interface, which was terrible, maybe too much skills and a really hard follow up for all of them, but I guess it also depends partially on playstyle. Either way, this is my second game with Weather Factory, I am looking forward to Travelling at Night!

文本探索本身就值回票价。但是如果是房间整理和天气结合承担升级解锁功能感觉会比工作台+打工更好，现在这个玩法设计略微无聊而且严重破坏节奏，影响我体验长生者的优雅（。）总感觉好像还是当初那个殡仪馆小工似的。那我不白飞升了吗。
This is an exercise in writing a Wiki. Or using the existing one and writing your cliff notes.
The interface looks pretty but in a exercise in frustration. Moving the map around is on the same mouse button that picks up items. Zoom furthest in and the UI obscures half the room, zoom further out and everything becomes too small. Zoom out further so you have an overview over the map and suddenly you can no longer click on workbenches. Everything has to constantly be adjusted.
No important information is anywhere easily accessible in the game you always need to put the skills or items in workbenches to see what you already discovered so you either keep writing notes or use the wiki or both.
So many different items, skills, cards but everything amounts to the same. Stack 3-5 of the same on a character or workbench to reach certain thresholds. Managing and scrounging the resources for that is fun for a bit but it just becomes tedious.
Not sure where the grand story is supposed to be. All I see is blurps of 2-3 sentences attached to items or events. If that's supposed to materialize into some coherent in terms of worldbuilding or story I've yet to see it.
