I have beat this game 3x and I have never get tired of it. If you like battle block theatre or Dust: an elysian tale, you will probably like this. this game genuinely improved my hand eye coordination for gaming. not a beginner beginner game, but certainly beat this game before ori and the blind forest.

打通关了，灵魂全收集+全成就，最后给个7/10分吧。
乐趣主要在跳跳乐和地图解谜/收集，剧情战斗方面都很一般。个人感觉整体更偏重平台跳跃，而不太算类银。

优点：
1）画面/画风/音乐，还不错
2）箱庭设计的有点意思，打通以后有点魂类游戏的地形感觉。尤其是被遗忘的道路里的高塔
3）专门的跳跳乐挑战（空洞），5星级难度既折磨人但又有一定挑战的乐趣，痛并快乐吧

缺点：
1）因为是3d（？）导致在墙上来回跳跃时，视角自动变化，晃来晃去的很难受，比较影响跳跃，难度因此增加。感觉做得不好
2）找路/找灵魂/找空洞，花了很多时间，感觉完全可以给个地图做标记，记性不好感觉玩不了。同时游戏的引导很弱。比如三段跳功能的灵魂，在地形里根本看不见，谁能想到在哪？完全没有提示和引导
3）糟糕的中文翻译（很多错别字和不知道什么意味的文案）/ 没什么悬念的剧情 / 简单且单调的战斗（基本没死过）
4）感觉二三段跳/二段冲刺/旋转，拿不拿好像都不影响通关，只是能去探索找更多收集品，但收集品也没什么卵用，既不补充故事又没什么实际收益

I got softlock I can't access a gate cause I don't have a specific key but can't go back up because I intentionally fall to get to that area.
Aside from that the level is so confusing and they chose not to have a freaking map in the game. Bad design.

Le jeu est très sympa, il n'est ni trop dur ni pas assez, mais par contre ça manque vraiment d'une map parce que ce n'est pas linéaire, ce qui est bien, mais quand on a le sens d'orientation d'un caillou c'est horrible, j'ai passé mon temps à me perdre. C'est abusé aussi de pouvoir changer toutes les touches sauf celles de déplacement, du coup obligé de passer le clavier en QWERTY quand-même, c'est très bête.

Game lacks QoL and polish that most modern games have. I dropped it pretty quickly. Here's a list of what I can remember:

Controller settings for xbox controller are unnatural. In most games "B" is used to go back in menu, not "Y". And "Y" is used to interact with objects, instead of "B". It's also a bit annoying that the same key is used for shield and to interact with ladders, so sometimes I've used shield (which depletes mana) instead of interacting.

Some platforming challenges had this very annoying design of having long easy sections before hard section. Every time after failing the hard section you have to go through the easy one, before attempting the hard one again.

There's no option to change difficulty, you only choose it at the beginning.

Although there's a separate "Graphics" tab, the audio settings are hidden under the "Game" tab, a bit unintuitive to find.

I believe lack of minimap in a game requiring backtracking is a poor design decision.

Maybe this was a deliberate design choice, but it's easy to cheeze lots of ore currency, and buy all the upgrades early in the game. There's a lot of ore in town, and you just need to exit end re-enter the location for it to reappear.

Sometimes character just doesn't stick to a wall for a walljump, which results in falling down. Fortunately happens rather rarely. But can be pretty annoying when it happens in platforming challenge far from checkpoint.

O jogo é curto, mas tem bastantes segredos legais de descobrir, não se preocupe, eu não gosto de jogos de exploração pq na maioria vc só fica perdido em um level design nada intuitivo. esse jogo não é assim, ele é um metroidevania então a exploração é voltar para lugares que vc já tinha passado, so que com mecanicas novas que te permitem ir mais longe

I don't think it's anything special but it's reasonably well made. I would recommend if you don't have anything to play and are just looking for something to do for reasonably low cost.
The soundtrack is solid but the platforming is a bit finicky and the puzzles are pretty eh. The level design can be somewhat confusing especially the questionable use of keys resulting in seemingly unnecessary backtracking as well as some lackluster puzzles which feel somewhat forced.
I didn't pay lots of attention to the story so maybe that is groundbreaking but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
In terms of QOL the ledge grab feels slightly off, the lack of map makes navigation somewhat annoying, especially with backtracking and there's no borderless fullscreen option which sucks.
To end on a positive note, I do appreciate the "voids" (small platforming challenges) since they are a nice way to help people who may struggle with combat get a leg up through their platforming ability.

Great Game! Play it!

I honestly don't remember where and when I got this game from, maybe Humble Bundle? I don't remember.
I forgot about it.
On YouTube, about a year ago I saw Iron Pinaple playing this, he said it's good, I went to Steam and turned out I have it...
I tried starting to play it about 3 time throughout the year and couldn't get into the game.
This time though, it gripped me!

It's more like a platformer game with Souls Like elements.

Petit jeu vraiment cool. Il sera pas mémorable mais on passe pas un mauvais moment.

Le gameplay est très agréable avec une grosse liberté d'exploration et on peut très facilement break la logique du jeu en usant de certains mouvements. Clairement pas prévu mais terriblement appréciable.

Les boss sont un peu bof, les combats en général. Pareil pour l'histoire et la musique.

Tout fait en une dizaine d'heures, ce qui est honnête avec un éditeur de niveau ( pas essayé ) et surtout ce plaisir qu'on nous laisse la possibilité de casser la logique.

Хороший 3D платформер, на прохождение которого у меня ушло около 10 часов. Боевая система довольно простая, но самое сложное здесь, конечно же, сам платформинг. Бывает такое, что в тебя постоянно кто-то стреляет, и ты падаешь в лаву, и кирдык. Слава Богу, что возрождаешься на твердой поверхности рядом где упал. Самое сложное для игроков будет уровни-испытания, разбросанные по миру, и боссы, которых мы побеждаем по ходу сюжета. Есть также побочные задания, за которые дают разные бонусы и, самое главное, ачивки.

Также, есть бесплатное дополнение, в которое я не играл, т.к. там нет ачивок. Игру советую покупать на скидках, но если денег не жалко, то можно и за обычную цену.

I know I'm a bit late to the party, but this game is so incredibly underrated. I got it on sale for $2, but even at the listen price I still think it would be worth it. It's just so incredibly fun. The platforming feels satisfying, the fighting system just the right amount of complexity. I wouldn't say it completely blew me out of the water, but its just overall an incredibly fun experience.

Easy to like cartoonish art style, very reminiscent of late 90s early 2000s 3D platformers.

The platforming sections feel great and the controls are responsive. There is a great variety of jumping puzzles and very few of them feel the same even if they do sometimes borrow mechanics from each other.

The boss fights were ok, although they are more or less just gimick bosses rather than actual boss fights.

The actual world is well designed, it looks great and there is great variation in the setting in between different areas of the game.

There is a story, it's fairly basic but it ties together the events of the game well enough, doesn't get in the way of the gameplay and it's more than sufficient for the type of game Blue Fire is. You can tell the game is heavily inspired by the Nintendo 64 Zelda games as both the story telling and world have a very similar style to them.

[h3]Negatives:[/h3]

Fighting normal enemies is by far the lowest point of the entire game, I would have prefered the levels to be completely empty platforming sections instead with the occasional boss. It's easy enough, they die in a few hits and don't deal much damage, but between the lack of challenge and the fact that every enemy have a single attack they perform over and over just makes it feel redundant for them to even be there in the first place.

The combat is very, very basic. I didn't dislike it as the game is a platformer first and foremost, but if you go into it expecting much depth to the combat you will be disappointed as it's pretty much just jump and dash while using your single 1-2-3 hit combo to deal damage.

There are certain types of movement during the platforming sections which require a 180 degree camera turn, even at max camera speed this sometimes feels like you are fighting the camera more than the platforming. It's not game breaking or anything super negative, it simply feels a little awkward when you have to execute those moves.

[h3]Conclusion:[/h3]

Blue Fire does have some flaws, most of it tied to the combat being extremely bare bones and the normal enemies out in the world feeling like an unnecessary addition. But overall, it's a great little platformer that will give you 10-15 hours of gameplay depending on how much you explore at a low price point.

I'd say it's worth it even at full price and since the sales go below 3.50€ it is 1000% worth on sale. It gets a solid 75/100 points on my scale.

This game, a mix of adventure, platforming, and a light slasher, with a definite Dark Souls vibe (you lose all local currency at a certain death spot, and you can only get back there from the last specific save statue), gives off pretty mixed feelings.

On one hand, it lures you in with the promise of an exciting journey: the player sets out on an extraordinary adventure across the ruined kingdom of Halfshadow, discovering hidden secrets of long-forgotten lands. Exploring mysterious temples, meeting survivors, completing odd quests to collect valuable items – it all sounds super tempting. Along the way, you’ll hack your way through hordes of scary enemies, wander mystical and abandoned regions, dodge deadly traps, and most importantly, master the art of movement.

On the other hand, the game has some pretty big downsides, making it feel more like a lackluster copy of something like The Legend of Zelda rather than the Hollow Knight it’s often compared to.

The clear positives are the beautiful locations and the nice cel-shading, which gives the game its own special charm. The variety of secrets and light jokes adds some fun, and the simple combat system and clear progression make the game easy to get into.

A neutral point is that the game is really focused on insane reflexes and fast parkour moves. Dashes, dodges, and acrobatics are the core. Most of the gameplay is less about fighting and more about collecting spheres and orbs, running along walls, and trying to reach spots that are impossible to get to just on foot.

But there are plenty of drawbacks that even make you feel like giving the game a dislike. First, there's no detailed description of achievements on Steam — though that's not the biggest deal. The more serious issue is that a playthrough, which could normally take 6-8 hours, can drag out to 12+ hours even without side quests or mistakes. Why does that happen?

A) The locations are just massive, and considering the size of our hero, it’s easy to get lost. It can be really tricky to find your way without a map or clear signs (and yep, the game really doesn’t have even a basic action plan or any markers).

B) Some things, like in Zelda, you just can’t figure out on your first try. For example, while playing, it can be super hard to find where to light a certain green flame in the downpour according to the story. You might spend two hours hunting for the next available locations because they blend in with the environment so much that you can’t tell if it’s your own fault or if the game’s just keeping quiet.

С) Parkour can get insanely tricky at times. For example, in the area in front of the Temple of the Gods, where you need to collect all the white orbs and fill the Vessel of Souls, some are in almost unreachable spots. Even with double jump and strafing, it’s crazy hard to reach them, not to mention for kids playing. Honestly, parkour gets tiring after a while, and there are very few enemies to fight anyway.

Unlike a game like Gato Roboto, where you can tackle tasks in any order, Blue Fire could really benefit from a slightly more guided, linear structure in some areas. It’d be nice if the game gave hints about where you’re going or warned you that there’s no turning back at certain points. At the very least, they could've locked the previous doors, right?

So, Blue Fire can look gorgeous and tempting, but sometimes the game just isn’t worth the effort. That said, if you don’t have other options and want something fairly chill, you might actually enjoy it.

A hidden gem. Fast flowing movement with basic but enjoyable combat. Void challenges remind me of Super Mario Galaxy and are where some of the more difficult gameplay lies. Boss fights were pretty diverse and interesting, and the atmosphere (music, story and areas) were all gripping. Very much enjoyed my time 100%'ing this game and its DLC.

dlc通关，先谈本体，本体战斗比较无聊，主线跑酷比较简单，主角完整性能很夸张，蹬墙跳+滑墙跑+蓄力跳+三段跳+二段冲再加上一些加冲刺距离旋转跳高度的灵魂性能堪比铁驭，问题在于像二段跳三段跳这种如此重要的能力竟然藏在不看攻略很难找到的地方，而没有二段跳部分跑酷挑战又较难通过，但跑酷挑战只是用来加血的，一段冲+蓄力跳足够通关主线问题也不大
然后到了dlc就是给你一大堆更上难度的跑酷挑战，通过一个的奖励是下一个解开跑酷挑战的钥匙，而dlc跑酷挑战的难度很显然是默认你解锁了二段跳二段冲的，许多连续跳跃明显没给人蓄力跳的时间，这在二段跳藏起来的前提下就很恶心了

顺带吐槽一下剧情，如果说本体是毫无波澜的王道故事，那dlc把本体守护者大哥拉出来当叛徒反转的剧情就有点没活硬整了，显得本体主角干的所有事纯是被当枪使，然后主角跟大西王一样一言不发被守护者大哥利用杀了四神然后大哥自曝阴谋后又一言不发把大哥干掉了，跟大运一样沉默地创死一切

Weird intersection of a Zelda game, a 3D platformer and a souls-like.
That sounds like it could either be a messy disaster OR the best thing ever, and by golly is this the latter.
The platforming is great, the combat is janky but generally satisfying, the story is pretty unoriginal and not great, but it's charming enough to enjoy, kinda like how Nintendo plots play out.

My full, honest pros/cons list of the game:
Pros:
- Love the atmosphere, almost like a hollow knight type of adventure.
- The attempt at a 3d metroidvania is alright at best. Better than some of the other metroidvanias I've played.
- In my opinion, the bosses were hard enough to keep me on my toes, but they had recognizable patterns.
- Enemies were fairly easy to deal with, especially once I got stronger weapons. At first, they were difficult.
- I like the platforming aspect of the game. Nothing outside of that, I just love platformers.
- Controls felt great. I do not understand why people were having negative reviews of the controls because, and I quote, "they felt clunky." I beat the game one handed because of a disability I face. I do not think that the controls were bad at all. Just git gud.

Cons:
- A BIG one is depth perception. I am not sure if it is just me or the graphics, but I cannot tell how far I am from an obstacle. That caused a lot of issues with the voids.
- The NPCs are not memorable.
- The story felt kind of short...? I am not sure how to describe it. It was there, but it was not prominent i suppose?

A some of negative feedback that I saw revolved around people comparing this game to hollow knight. Bottom line, nothing is going to be as good as hollow knight. That game is like a jazz standard: it is just one of the metroidvanias of all time. Yes, there are some flaws with this game, but if you just give it a shot and finish it all the way through, then you just might change your mind. And if you still have a negative review afterwards, then that is just you. Nothing wrong with that.

had this game nestled in my wishlist for quite a while, and finally picked it up heavily discounted.
i had no idea this game was so inspired by Zelda, especially Twilight Princess, and it tells in certain mechanics and areas.

never really struggled with the combat, so those who seek a challenge should probably choose the higher difficulty upon start. this game definitely leans more into the exploration aspect, and the platforming can get challenging with some of the voids.

worth a play if you like 3D platformers and exploration!

If you’ve ever wondered what [i]Dark Souls[/i] checkpoints, [i]Zelda[/i] dungeons, and [i]Hollow Knight[/i] platforming would look like blended together in 3D, [i]Blue Fire[/i] is pretty much your answer. It may not reinvent any one ingredient from its inspirations, but the way it fuses them into a singular, hyper-mobile 3D platformer feels both fresh and surprisingly compelling. Behind amateur visuals and less-than-stellar combat lies one of the most interesting 3D Metroidvanias I've played.

As a 3D, platforming-focused Metroidvania - where sequence-breaking feels more like conforming to the developers' intentions rather than subverting them - [i]Blue Fire[/i] is largely cut from the same cloth as [i]Pseudoregalia[/i]. Despite releasing first, it avoids many of the pitfalls that I'd say [i]Pseudoregalia[/i] didn't. [i]Blue Fire[/i] is generally far less directionless, and the world of Penumbra is significantly more compact, memorable, and easy to navigate than [i]Pseudoregalia[/i]'s Castle Sansa. Though its atmosphere is less interesting, and though it shares much of same poor combat, [i]Blue Fire[/i] is essentially what I wished [i]Pseudoregalia[/i] was. That's not to say that it's without its own unique faults, though.

As the first release from a smaller team, [i]Blue Fire[/i] is unfortunately - though inevitably - a messy game. In trying to combine such a wide range of inspirations, it only really excels in its *Hollow Knight* inspired platforming. Boss fights feel like an almost entirely separate game - one that remains far too easy until the very end. I beat almost every boss in [i]Blue Fire[/i] first try, and I'd switched off for the majority of these. I appreciate that the boss fights aim to integrate the game's strength - its platforming - by having arenas that usually require jumping and dashing to navigate and dodge attacks, but they're just so easy to trivialise; you're given far too much health and restores for anything to be challenging.

Despite its weak combat, [i]Blue Fire[/i] just feels good to move around in. The dash move can be stopped on a dime, and so many of your abilities can be used in combination with each other, leading to fun and expressive platforming. Outside of the optional Void challenges, this errs more towards puzzle-platforming than tests of mechanical skill, but this was more than enough to carry the game from my very poor first-impression to a very positive one overall. It's just a shame that these Void challenges reward you only with extra health - making already poor and mindless combat even worse. Optional rewards trivialising poor combat systems isn't anything new to the genre, but feels particularly worth pointing out here. Doing some of [i]Blue Fire[/i]'s best content actively makes the bad portions worse.

From a very personal perspective, I don't at all like the main character at all - particularly their proportions, and their combination of mask and hair. They don't at all fit into the world that they reside in, and I'm not sure if this was intentional. I get that a smaller, more rounded character likely lends itself better to cheaper movement animations, but I'd have preferred perhaps anything other than this. The soundtrack is really good though, and is probably the main reason I stuck with the game - it was clear from the start that there was talent involved in the project, even if not every element of the game was well-rounded.

[i]Blue Fire[/i] has more than its fair share of issues - especially in its combat - but it's still a very compelling 3D Metroidvania that I enjoyed quite a bit. Its fusion of inspirations works far better than expected, and its world design helps everything feel cohesive, despite the rough edges. It’s far from the best in the genre, but I can’t help but recommend it. It’s been my go-to on the Steam Deck for the past week, and I found it hard to switch to anything else once I really got into it. Despite how derivative portions of it are, I found [i]Blue Fire[/i] to be a really unique take on the genre. I hope Robi Studios iterate on this strong foundation someday.

필드는 전투 액션, 보이드(스테이지)에 들어가면 플렛폼으로 두개의 장르로 나눠져 있는데 전체적으로 조작감이 너무 허접함

기본적으로 움직이는게 미끄덩미끄덩한 느낌이라 특히 보이드를 진행할때 굉장히 플레이가 불쾌함

진행하면 할 수록 어려워지긴 하다만은 플랫폼 구조 자체는 꽤나 쉽게 되어 있음 근데 조작감때문에 어렵다란 느낌보단 매우 불쾌함이 느껴짐

전투 액션은 기본적으로 강제 타겟팅 시스템이 있는데 부술 수 있는 사물인 항아리, 해골, 상자 등등에도 강제 타겟팅이 되다보니 적을 때릴려고해도 오브젝트부터 공격하는 경우가 있어 아주 그냥 캐릭이 지 맘대로 공격질해 중구난방임

거기에다 타격감이 없다싶이해서 전투가 너무나도 재미가 없음

그냥.. 전체적으로 너무나도 미흡한 재미 없는 게임이라고 생각함

Honestly wasn't sure about this game at first, I put it down for a while after I got through the sewers / boiler room area and made it to the main hub area. Really glad I picked it back up though because it really picks up from there. Once you unlock more abilities and spend some time with the mechanics, the seemingly large and spaced out platforming makes a lot more sense and everything feels fluid.

Reminded me a lot of a Gamecube game called i-ninja. Highly recommended

Mixed feeling about this one
Regarding the positives, the platforming feels good and sometimes offers worthwhile rewards, the character you play as is some adorable mini reaper dude, and the soundracks are beautiful. ALSO YOU CAN HIDE YOURSELF IN CHESTS
Unfortunately, the combat is not cutting it for me. Aerials feel unreliable in whether they will connect or not, parries are there but don't feel rewarding, all magic you get is just a single hitscan fireball that lacks impact... The progression also feels weirdly paced, both with checkpoints (where at the beginning of the game there are barely any, and at the end in a few spots they are practically next to one another) and with abilities (where, once again, you barely get anything at the beginning and suddenly at around halfway through you unlock sprints, bonus jumps and dashes...). Also, bossfights. Aside from the final one, none of them felt good. Most of the bosses were small and unassuming, sharing fairly similar attacks and pacing, or designs in case of the Lords. Parries also never seemed to be useful, or even viable, in these fights.
Overall, I don't think Blue Fire is a bad game. It's in that 'okay' spot where sometimes it's pretty nice (exploration, climate and platforming) and sometimes sluggish (with design repetitiveness and most fights). Especially in comparison to games like Pseudoregalia or Metro Gravity, it just feels lacking in any sort of innovation.

Although yeah some parts feel bland, and the game feels pretty easy, it's still a lot of fun to go through. I got this game for only a couple bucks on sale, so I'd say it was worth it. Combining 3D platforming and metroidvania felt perfect for me, and was just fun to go through while chilling with nothing else to do.

A pretty little platformer with rudimentary combat, tight controls, and precise jumps that are way easier to land than you'd think. It's not perfect, but I enjoyed my time with it, and I'd recommend it (on >=50% sale) to anyone who enjoys 3D platformers that demand precision but are not hard enough that you'll actually get stuck for more than a few minutes. For those who want something more thorough, keep reading.

The platforming of Blue Fire begins as a series of jumps, dashes, air-dashes, and ledge grabs. More movement mechanics unlock progressively that enable higher jumps and covering larger distances without touching the ground. Over time you'll build up quite a movelist and you'll be expected to chain them together rapidly. Make no mistake: This game will ask you to press a lot of buttons quickly and with good timing to make precise movements.
If you struggle with more mainstream 3D platformers (Mario), then this game may be frustrating for you. That being said, this is not a tough-as-nails, ragebait game. If you're comfortable with precision 3D platforming, then it's really quite easy but involved enough to be satisfying.

In addition to standard platforming throughout the world, there are Voids. Voids are essentially mostly optional(?) "platforming dimensions." Get from the start to the finish to complete that Void. Collect the orbs along the way for optional upgrades. Their design is reminiscent of Super Mario Sunshine's "Secrets" or A Hat in Time's "Rifts" in that they are entirely unconcerned with making any sense outside of being a platforming challenge. I'm a big fan of both of those games so I quite like Voids.

Outside of platforming, there's a basic combat system in place. A button to swing your sword, a button to shield that performs a parry when activated just as an enemy attack connects, and, later on, button that fires a ranged attack that you'll never use because it's so weak that you may as well melee everything. Standard enemies are littered about with I think 7 distinct enemy types (outside bosses), with 4 of them reappearing constantly as re-skinned variants with identical behavior. Enemies are, predictably, more obstacles than adversaries. The game bribes you to kill them by having them drop Shadow Fragments that can be used to increase your mana bar (used for shielding and that useless ranged attack), but you can just run past them if you really want to.

Bosses are...kind of nice, really. Each one has unique attacks and patterns. What makes them fun IMHO is that they rely on your making heavy use of dashing (sometimes across sparse platforms) to maneuver out of the way of attacks and to close the distance when it's your time to strike. Vulnerability periods are also generally not absolute, with several bosses allowing you to close the distance before they're done to begin wailing on them. They're still cycle-based, but at least that makes waiting sometimes optional for the daring.

Progression through the story is kind of old school, which seems to be something that trips many people up. As a general rule: Go everywhere, do everything, talk to everyone, and try to remember what you've been told and where things are. If you can do that, then you're unlikely to get stuck. If not, you may miss a progression flag and get confused. I personally don't mind this form of progression because it rewards how I play games anyway, but there's no shame in looking up the answer to anything you're stuck on if that's not your thing.

For inventory, there's normal items, key items, weapons, and cloaks.
Normal items: Actually just key items you're allowed to throw away and items you're supposed to sell.
Key items: Items required for your main and side quests.
Weapons: Swords. The only weapon type is dual swords and the only stat is damage. Just equip the strongest thing.
Cloaks: Despite what the descriptions of some of them claim, they are all entirely cosmetic.

And then there are spirits, which are...baffling.
Spirits are your equipable bonuses. There are 18 of them hidden throughout the game (some of them rather deviously), and you're restricted in how many you equip by spirit slots, which can be increased by collecting Void Souls, which are those orbs in Voids I mentioned earlier.

A baffling part is what spirits do to the balance. These are not minor, "+5% extra thing" bonuses. Spirit bonuses are either game-breaking or totally useless with no in-between, and the former interact with the game's platforming in hilarious ways. There's a Spirit that [i]increases your jump height[/i]. Another makes you move faster, which carries into jump distances, and several more than increase the height of specific jumps under specific (very common) circumstances. There's one that MASSIVELY lengthens your dash, and another that gives you a 2nd dash in the air on a 2-second cooldown. And, if you do all the Voids, you can get 10 SLOTS. When there are 18 SPIRITS.

If you go hunting for spirits and slots, you will begin making enormous leaps across rooms that were intended to be somewhat challenging. Tricky climbs become rather casual affairs. It's amazing. And the best part is that I can't figure out where the game's balance sits. I've made jumps that I thought "There's no way you could make that without at least a couple mobility spirits," so in some ways they feel required, but also not? It's great if you like feeling unstoppable. And I still found the platforming (including Voids) enjoyable despite having way more mobility that it feels they were designed for, because there's joy in climbing OVER a wall designed to make you go around it.

So...overall, I liked it. Not perfect, but a good ~16 hours.

The game is an extremely fun and easy platformer, there's only 1 difficult part of the game which I encountered. The movement is pretty wide, as in long dashes, triple jumps, air walking, and more. The combat was easy, even when in hard mode, it's a breeze. The game kind of reminds me of "Ocarina of Time", "Majora's Mask" , or even "Wind Waker" in terms of HP, camera and combat while the overall movement reminds me of "A hat in time". The story was kind of straightforward, 5 gods created the world, they lost to the 6th god, you kill 6th god as the being born from light and dark. Music was fine, Graphics is fine, It's not phenomenal but it's ok.

To be honest for this game, there's not much to hate except for the fact that it's easy and maybe in terms of build variety, it's lacking since they give you too much slots while having little options and most of the time, you literally only equip them for movement instead of damage. It made it feel like it was just an extension of game movement at that point rather than actual builds. I wish the game was harder and had more inspiration for the boss battles, the damage spirits are so useless with how squishy they are to be honest.

Overall, I guess a 8/10. It's a good game with no real downsides for me but It's really not amazing. It's a fun game that I can recommend though if you want decent platforming.

I like this game

It's fiawed (get it on sale, don't pay full price)

But it plays more like a Zelda game than a Dark Souls clone... which a Souls clone was the impression I bought the game under

Menus crap out, jumps are not 100% accurate, enemy hit boxes need fixing, there's timer based puzzles (ew), and nothing is obvious at all, so you might need a guide

The platforming is difficult tho, in a satisfying way, and the game has good atmosphere and good platforming mechanics when they do decide to work

I would buy this game if you enjoyed the older Zelda games, but please prepare for game jank if you do buy it

The jank is strong with this one, and the Glitch Gremlin (from AVGN) and his family live in the code of this game

Juego un poco raro de describir... El lore es un calco del primer Dark Souls, las vibes que destila son las de Hollow Knight pero visualmente se parece más a un Zelda en 3D...

El juego se basa en el movimiento, es lo más pulido que tiene y bastante satisfactorio, en cambio, el diseño de niveles, considero que es muy vago, se siente vacío, muy grande, pero vacío, y el combate es terrible, con cero unidad de feedback.

La mitad de las veces en el plataformeo, por un lado la libertad que tienes para avanzar es abismal, puedes ingeniártelas de varias maneras para llegar a sitios inalcanzables, y por otro lado, a medida que avanzas sientes como si estuvieras en un sitio que no deberías y que no estaba pensado para que el jugador llegase.

Como he comentado antes, el combate es terrible, se siente como pegarle a un saco de boxeo, no hay reacción ninguna, simplemente se dan la vuelta y te pegan como si nada. Los jefes son bastante decepcionantes, realmente el único que supone un mínimo reto es el último y ni siquiera, el resto son esponjas de daño que al final se mueren y ya.

El juego cuesta lo mismo que el Hollow Knight, te puedo decir si quieres por cuál decantarte.

A lot of fun platformer with the right amount of challenge. Would recommend to anyone curious of getting it.

Now for more detail I have to say that even though most compare this to Wind Waker I have to say that this game is not really that. It's a platformer game that heavily relies on that mechanic in mostly everything. From the environments to the boss fights. It's a bunch of jumping, dashing, and knowing where and when to land. The game gives you throughout the game more and more tools for you to move more freely in its world to the point where you're skipping whole sections of maps that before you had to carefully navigate earlier in the game. Which I totally love. The main game was pretty easy and even though at times it was hard to navigate or know where to go next the world was so small it was pretty easy to map the world in your head to get a footing. Though a map would really be nice to have. Another thing is that the game leaves you hanging at times not knowing what to do or where to go. By dumb luck I was able to find where to go and that one NPC I decided to talk to gave me all the info I needed. In fact I was just curious on one random object while I was searching where to go next that that path ended up being the main quest path. I got suck in the first section of the game because I didn't know that the sewer line was actually an entrance. it just looked like a cosmetic prop. So things like that do get a bit annoying. Also, the game half way feels like either they needed to rush it or they ran out of ideas or money, but it really felt like a "go fetch glow balls" and "go kill 3 bosses in a row". At the first half of the game it was: enter dungeon, get new item, defeat boss. Then it does a 180 and turns into that fetch quest which really sucked to be honest. Even if the dungeons were pretty simple and easy I still liked that mechanic. It felt like they ran out of budget to make 3 more dungeons and just gave us the bosses. Another thing that made it feel that way was the ending. After you beat the boss the game simply ends abruptly! Like, what!? No explaining what happens next? No hero's welcome? I mean we didn't even get a story right before fighting the boss, so I was assuming there would be something later after defeating it, but nope. Did we win? Did I help get rid of the darkness? No? Eh.... Overall I did enjoy the game very much to the point I couldn't stop playing until I beat it. Also I would have played more if the dern achievements weren't bugged!

Do not buy this game anywhere except steam, the publishers will take away your game key without warning if you do.
I think that's a case of a greedy publisher, since it only happens if your key didn't come directly through Steam from what I've found.
It's pathetic, shallow and really leaves a terrible taste in my mouth.

short little game, combat and movement is fun and satisfying. few issues i noticed with the game but nothing too drastic. not worth the price though, id recommend getting it on sale, especially since silksong is the same cost

Absolutely love the game, I love all the mobility options, secrets and there on.

__positives__

- The "void" (parkour challenges) are tough but fun to try and sequence break due to the spirits (equipable upgrades) helping mobility.
- exploring in many cases earns you rewards for finding secrets like better weapons, robes (cosmetic), and spirits.
-characters are entertaining and had me immersed and engaged for the story.
- I'm an achievement hunter, so I was very appreciative that there was no 100% achievement, so you don't need to collect all robes, swords etc.

__now downsides__
- there is no map or way marker, leading me to spend 2 hours to try and find the shadow lords (3 bosses to unlock final boss), just for me to give up and have to look up (missed the most obvious one, the fire lord in steam house). now obviously, this issue was my doing to some extent, but still sometimes annoying having to find where to go half the time.
- the shadow lords were fun to fight to some extent, but they felt somewhat underwhelming in strength, especially because after you beat the shadow lords, you fight the final boss "shadow queen" which has stuff thrown at you during most of the fight, making it a struggle to do anything from healing, to moving in to attack the shadow queen.
- at the beginning it has moderate lore dump that's hard to follow, so you sit there confused on what your reading until you have explored like 1/2 or more of the game

now I ain't doing no fancy table to say quality of looks, story, etc that some people do, but my overall rating is:

gave it a shot but for a platformer the controls are so narrow it makes even simple jumps a chore. it's like you can only run at a 15 degree angle from any 90 degree direction which is beyond irritating. the view is ridiculously low and autocorrects to the strange angle as well, making it so incredibly obnoxious to see anything or gauge anything. couldn't stand it after a few minutes

Sorry, but this is horrible, for 2025. For 2000 it might've been something. The combat is horrible, the movement feels very weird, sometimes you're like a magnet, other times you slide around like you're on ice. Horrible game.

Fantastic. Delightful pacing that has you starting out bare bones and simple and flying around like a Mexican jumping bean in a few hours. The difficulty ramping is super satisfying, culminating in the brutal challenge of the dlc. The combat is not the point of this game. That being said the dlc boss was satisfying and difficult. The only time I actually got a game over the entire game. If you like platforming challenges this game does it exquisitely well. I'd love more.

The Game has been my favorite RPG or Roguelike for years now. Being a tiny Umbra and fighting your way through the Dungeon like map is fun. You never know whats coming next. It is an unpredictable adventure.
