The game itself is alright. You do the same thing over and over again. You can get other weapons and hats (?). Tbh I don’t know if the hats do anything or if they are just for fun, but anyway, basically you just need to shoot zombies, get ammo, heals, and batteries for the light, and try not to die.

Would I recommend this game? At full price probably not, you could just buy Dying Light when it is on sale for example. But on discount at 49 cents, if this is something you would like to play, why not?

[h2]A Quick but Clever Arcade Shooter[/h2]
I have already played three games by NukGames:
1) Razortron 2000
2) Cyberhunt
3) Planes, Bullets and Vodka
But Blackout Z is by far the best of the bunch.

At its core, it’s a fairly typical arcade shooter, but what makes it stand out is how it uses darkness as a fully functional gameplay mechanic. You’re forced to develop a sort of instinct for where items might be, while staying constantly aware that traps could be right in front of you (they will instantly kill you).

What’s especially interesting is how the game subtly teaches you to read your surroundings. As you move around and see zombies approaching from multiple directions, you might notice that from one side they suddenly stop coming. Why? Because they’re dying to a nearby trap. That’s your clue. By observing enemy behavior, you can deduce where traps are likely placed and adjust your movement accordingly. It’s a clever system that rewards attention and awareness.

The only thing I would change is the fact that trap placement is randomized with every new run. This kind of RNG can be frustrating at times. That said, as mentioned above, the game does give you tools to figure things out if you pay close attention.

It’s not a game you’ll spend a lot of time with, though. I completed all the achievements in about half an hour, which is honestly very short and slightly reduces the overall value. Still, it was solid fun for that half hour, and as I said, it’s definitely the best game I’ve played so far from NukGames.

As a Flash game from the mid 2000's, it would be fine for free.
But if you are not into global leaderboard stuff, it's a 15-20min game without any replayability.
You play once, and fizzle out fast. You get the last weapon, and what?...
It's not fun at all.

And not sure why there's a 2nd game in the launch options with this product called Burning Skies Neon.
I mean yeah, nice. But it has the same problem, and that's without achievements and leaderboard...
As a sneak-peek to the developers other games? Then it's not a good one.

Browsing my Steam library looking for something to play, I came across this game. I struggled to remember it; I don't recall buying it. It's been in my library for five years, so I assume it was from a promotion.

I played it for four minutes, which made me think it wasn't worth it, and that's why I hadn't touched it again. But I decided to open it anyway.

Blackout Z is a short and compact experience, characterized by the brutality of its gameplay. The difficulty isn't particularly high, but the game certainly knows how to put you on the ropes. You find yourself trapped in a small space surrounded by zombies and traps capable of finishing you off in an instant. Your bullets are limited, and so is your flashlight battery. You have to run through the darkness searching for more ammo and batteries, and no matter how hard you fight, one small slip will turn you into meal for the undead.

It's not an experience I'll particularly remember, but this brief revisit left me with a very good feeling. It's a fun, extremely frenetic game with a brutal soundtrack; it's truly a good experience, totally worth it considering the price.

Top-down shooter where you have to survive as long as possible, eliminating hordes of blades and sharp blades, limited only to your weapons and a flashlight, whose battery is constantly running out

✅Simple gameplay: just run from zombies and shoot
✅Dynamic gameplay
✅Satisfactory shooting mechanics
✅Very good zombie atmosphere, darkness, and blades
✅Music that fits the game
✅Good idea with the flashlight running out
✅The graphics are okay

❌In my opinion, the price is too high because you're doing the same thing over and over, just killing zombies with multiple weapons (it's worth waiting for a sale)
❌Some items are trapped and impossible to pick up
❌No magazines, so you can't stock up on ammo. - Only one music (unless you buy DLC for such a simple game)
❌One map, and a very small one at that
❌There's only one zombie model
❌Small difference in stats; a regular pistol kills in one shot, just like an AK-47
❌Few weapons

Top-dawn шутер с бесконечными ордами врагов Blackout Z обладает несколькими отличиями от обычных игр с похожим геймплеем. Во-первых, видимость персонажа ограничена кругом света, который постепенно уменьшается. Для подзарядки фонаря нужно собирать батарейки. Во-вторых, по краю арены и на ней расположены пилы, которые убивают при одном касании. И напоследок высокая скорость персонажа. Даже слишком высокая.

Для уничтожения зомби у нас есть пять пушек – пистолет, ПП, автомат, дробовик и обрез двустволки. Оружия отличаются внутри групп – автоматическое оружие и дробовики ведут себя по-разному, а пистолет стоит отдельно от всех. По локации разбросаны и периодически подспавниваются патроны, аптечки и батарейки. Глаза зомби, кстати, светятся даже во тьме, поэтому их можно стрелять заранее.

Игра довольно хардкорная, но бум интереса к таким проектам будто прошёл в годах 2000-ых, когда игры вроде Alien Shooter включали режим выживания в свою комплектацию. Сейчас подобный геймплей не затянет надолго. Лично мне хватило полтора часа, чтобы выбить все ачивки и потерять интерес к игре.

Игра по своему геморная, но не плохая, нужна реакция, усидчивость и нервы для прохождение её до упора, хотя прохождение это громко сказано, так как в этом отношении тут нет ничего кроме временного выживания, клетки с ловушками в виде пил, которые ваншётают, аптечки, патроны и батарейки для фонаря которые валяются по карте. По факту вся игра вот так проходит в неком танце ловкости и смерти

"Blackout Z: Slaughterhouse Edition" ist ein kleiner Top-Down-Shooter.

Eine Story braucht das Spiel nicht. Wir sind in der Nacht auf einer sehr begrenzten Fläche unterwegs und müssen Zombies abknallen. Und das wars dann auch schon.

Dummerweise ist unsere Taschenlampe, die uns aus unerfindlichen physikalischen Gründen einen Lichtkegel um uns herum erzeugt, kontinuierlich am abnippeln, wenn wir nicht ständig herumliegende Batterien einsammeln. Und dieser Lichtkegel ist wichtig. Nicht etwa, um die Zombies zu sehen, denn deren Augen leuchten dankenswerterweise rot, sondern um die Umgebung zu sehen, denn die beinhaltet sofort tödliche Kreissägen.

Die Steuerung ist nicht gerade hilfreich, um den eigenen Tod zu vermeiden, denn wir bewegen uns nicht nur schnell, sondern auch wie auf Seife. Wir schliddern mehr als daß wir gehen. Und wir müssen uns bewegen. Ansonsten kriegen uns nicht nur die Gegner, sondern uns geht auch Munition, Licht und Leben aus. Die Kombination aus Steuerung und Tempo führt dazu, daß wir oft ziemlich schnell sterben, meist weil wir in Kreissägen rennen.

Das Spiel hat nur fünf Waffen. Alle Standard und alle unspektakulär. Damit denen nicht die Munition ausgeht, müssen wir ständig Ammo-Kisten einsammeln. Und das Spiel hat nur einen einzigen Gegnertyp, der einfach nur auf einen zu rennt.

Die Grafik ist sehr simpel gehalten ohne einen wirklich eigenen Stil zu finden. Das wirkt alles sehr generisch und beliebig. Die Musik pumpt wild, scheint aber auch reichlich uninspiriert.

Die Kombination aus allen Unzulänglichkeiten macht das Spiel weder spaßig noch überhaupt interessant. Zu dem Grundspiel gibt es noch einen Bonus-Titel. Mit "Burning Skies Neon" kriegt man den grottig generischen Raumschiff Top-Down-Shooter "Burning Skies", aber diesmal in Neonfarben.
