This is an amazing game. So much to do, with the Main Quest and many Side Quests.
There are 32 Magic Cards to collect, and this isn't always easy.
Character interactions are funny.
You can choose different teams for different gameplay if you like.
Fights can be quite challenging.
I enjoyed it a lot.

Completed! Frankly, I think it's ok, that is if vampirism is your favorite topic or you're just a fervent fan of Vampire WOD. I encountered a character skill bug and some head scratching directionless moments because of lack of clues; nothing the Internet can't solve.

I genuinely wanted to love this game. At first I was thinking, it's probably nothing special, the start was clunky and rushed, dropping us headfirst into stuff without any decent introduction to mechanics, lore or even a character introduction, but after about fifteen minutes it warmed up a lot.
I genuinely like the humour, the incessant references are so over the top they become a choice, making it feel like a part of the world building. The characters, save for the main, are three dimensional, and strangely likeable in their own way.
Then, eight hours in, game breaking bug. I don't know when it occurred, because trying to retriggered the failed scene from an earlier save doesn't work. There's no guides available, no bug reports listing how to fix anything, and I have [b]scoured[/b]. I can't tell when the bug appeared, if it's an issue with the spawn forcing it (which seems likely, as the exit from the town lands on top of the new sprite, which I can only assume leads to it being uninteracteable). And if that's the case, no amount of backtracking through earlier saves will help, even a fresh start won't, which is a bummer, because it's been pretty fun so far, and I know there are two other games, which I just can't imagine I'd care to get into knowing I won't be able to finish this one.
I don't mind clunky games, I don't mind low budget RPG maker games - it's a way to enable people to tell stories they otherwise likely wouldn't have been able to, and people who think it's "easy" usually have no idea what they're talking about, but when the bugs fully prevent progress, even for a save file cautious player, why is it even in the store? That's just wasting people's time.

I am 32 years old.
My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

Ingredientes para cocinar un bizcochuelo casero (6 personas):
3 huevos
1 taza de aceite neutro
50ml de leche
1 taza de azúcar
2 tazas de harina 0000
1 cucharadita de polvo para hornear
ralladura de 1 limón o esencia de vainilla
azúcar glas
Paso a paso de la preparación: cómo cocinar bizcochuelo casero:
Batir el aceite neutro con el azúcar en un bol hasta que tome una consistencia blanda.
Añadir los 3 huevos. Mezclar muy bien hasta asegurarse de que quede bien incorporado.
Agregar la harina, leche y ralladura del limón/esencia de vainilla. Mezclar durante algunos minutos.
Tomar un molde, enmantecarlo y luego cubrirlo con un poco de harina. Esto es para que el bizcochuelo no se pegue.
Una vez que la mezcla quede homogénea, introducirla en el molde.
Prender el horno en una temperatura de 180º y poner el molde durante 45 minutos, aproximadamente.
Retirar el molde y esperar a que se enfríe durante varios minutos.

RPG Maker strikes again!
"Ashes of Immortality" is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel RPG Maker asset/construction kit flips spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club fan fiction.
This is one of the most painfully generic RPG Maker asset flips I've ever seen. It really is the other side of the coin for RPG Maker... RPG Maker was designed to make Final Fantasy ripoffs... well Warfare/Andorlea/whatever other shell accounts this guy is using really went all the rest of the way and made a completely generic Final Fantasy ripoff, all the way down to the airships. Except of course, it's much much worse than Final Fantasy, with sloppy, lazy encounter design, terrible writing, terrible plot... this really is 100% in the middle of the bell curve for RPG Maker asset flip trash. Kudos to the developer for managing to refine and distill the essence of RPG Maker crapware into one single massively overpriced unit.
As with all RPG Maker games, the poor quality engine displays badly in fullscreen and doesn't have full HD support or any graphics tweaking options, making this unacceptable for any dedicated modern PC gamer. The point can be made that the intention of RPG Maker is to make demos and small games to pass around friends, and shouldn't be used for "professional" game development, and certainly not for profit as the developers have done here.
Like most RPG Maker shovelware and asset flips, the game features extremely low quality copy + pasted 2D retro pixel art, looks awful, and has even worse gameplay. RPG Maker is an absolutely terrible construction kit, and never results in games of any reasonable quality or value to gamers.
Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this game was with players reveals a surprise... there's a very healthy spike in player counts for the game. But this only appears around the same time that trading cards were applied to the game... so this is just card idlers getting their cards and moving on. A closer look at the numbers shows the game just has a couple of players every week running up the game and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many games like this, with no merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards.
"Ashes of Immortality" has the gamer gouging price of around $5 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product. Gamers who want a good retro JRPG experience would be better off playing the originals, like Final Fantasy, Star Ocean or Chrono Trigger.

If you read the negative reviews, you will see that the two biggest sins this game commits is that the encounters are slightly difficult and that it is a low priced game, which attracts people who are not familiar enough with RPG maker games to handle the difficulty in this particular medium.
If you, however, have played RPG maker games and do like them, perhaps with the understanding that grinding makes a world of difference you should do this. I did grind out 6 levels of this game, at the beginning- that's it. The rest was easy.
The story is great and the world is somewhat unique among today's style of game but, really, it's just the rpg maker version of Nosgoth. A bit more cute, a lot worse graphics. Don't miss out on this if you like RPG maker games. The story and dialogue are great.

This was a fun little jaunt. I had a good time on this and because of that went out of my way to hunt for side-quests, and complete the game 100% and I did just that. I have no complaints about this one, it was a lot of fun especially on sale! Thanks.

Klasik rpg oyununu seviyorsanız oldukça tatlı bir oyundu. Hikayeyi ve tüm farklı karakterleri nasıl etkileşime soktuğu detayıyla dahada çok beğendim. Ferah oynanışı ile oldukça sağlam bir hikayeydi. Bazı yerlerde yönlendirme eksikliği vardı, ancak genel olarak oldukça harika bir oyundu.

This game is your standard RPGMaker game and the story is alright. The problem however comes with the combat system. Not so much the skill system (which is an interesting idea and actually helped to make it unique) but the actual combat. After the first couple of dungeons though you'll start getting into situations where a single enemy can bring you down to half health in a single attack. To make matters worse healing items heal based on a percentage of your health so healing in combat is pretty much impossible due to being unable to keep pacing with the damage being inflicted on you. Then there is the matter of status debuffs not falling off even though the game says they have. Then there's several sidequests where you face a large amount of enemies but lack any AoE or not enough AoE abilities to actually be able to handle it. All in all the game could have been good if but for the shoddy work on the combat balancing.
This is the game in the Ashes of Immortality series, and begins in a small village where a white wolf named Lawrence is given a seemingly simple assignment of recovering a sword that has been stolen by a mysterious character the previous night. He is given a half werewolf (Landon) to travel with, and so begins the adventure that will take them throughout the world.
You will visit several locations (towns, woods, mountains, tunnels) with various clues as to what is going on, and they all feature assorted treasures to discover, monsters to fight, characters to deal with, and quests to finish.
It is, however, never confusing, and the path to follow is pretty straightforward (there is even a boat to use to speed up your travels and a quest log) ---- and this is the way it should be when the story is well told ---- as this one is. The game captures your interest quickly, and it becomes one of those stories that you want to just go to one more place, meet one more person, or finish just one more quest.
Like the 1st game of the series, this one uses a system of acquiring skills as you level up, then you must decide which skills to equip. Skills can be offensive, defensive, rare, or unique so you have to decide how and when to use them since there is a maximum number you can have at any given time. The various combinations can affect battle outcomes considerably.
The game features very nice artwork, runs smoothly, and sound effects and music add to the game experience.
I've not gotten far enough to see how much it will tie into the first game, but I have seen a couple of characters from the previous game that might play a part in upcoming events. Guess I'll have to keep going to find out.
But overall, I believe it is an excellent entry to this fun and entertaining series about werewolves, hunters, vampires. and other mysterious characters. Recommended for sure.

[h1] Story [/h1] Wir spielen die junge Vampir Jägerin "Simona Rinoldt" und kommen gerade in einem kleinen Dorf an wo es offenbar Vampir Aktivitäten gibt und bieten unsere Hilfe an, die auch dankend angenommen wird. Nach ein paar Merkwürdigen Ereignissen finden wir uns in unserem Unterschlupf wieder und bekommen auch schon den nächsten Auftrag zugeteilt. Aber wir haben auch eine eigene Persönliche Angelegenheit die wir regeln wollen
[h1] Gameplay [/h1] Das Gameplay ist natürlich ähnlich wie bei fast allen RPGMaker JRPGs. Wir bekämpfen verschiedene Feinde in Rundenbasierte Kämpfe und können dabei unterschiedliche Skills & Zauber einsetzten. Nach und nach gesellen sich mehr Gefährten dazu, die natürlich alle Unterschiedliche Klassen haben. Das Spiel spielt in einer Welt die von überwiegend Vampiren und Vampir Häuser/Völker beheimatet ist. Es gibt einige Andeutungen an Castlevania & Dracula. Die besonderheit des Spiels ist, das man Skills & Zauber zwar wie gewohnt durch aufleveln erlernt, diese aber dem Charakter dann zuteilen muss. Jeder Charakter kann 5 Skills/Zauber erlernen wobei der Erste Skill/Zauber vorgegeben und nicht austauschbar ist. Man muss auch darauf achten ob der Skill "Unique" ist denn dann kann man lediglich einen davon ausrüsten und keinen weiteren der selben Art. Es ist mal was neues gewesen und hat auch super funktioniert. Die Bosse haben Spaß gemacht und auf der World Map gibt es einige Secrets zu entdecken wenn man denn erstmal sein Flugschiff hat. Es gibt neben der Hauptquest auch immer wieder kleine Nebenquests zum lösen die ordentliche Gegenstände einbringen. Die Musik ist ordentlich we gewohnt aus dem RPGMaker und die Story war völlig OK

A ver, es un JRPG hecho con RPG Maker, genérico y lineal, con una historia más o menos interesante, pero diálogos divertidos.
Le doy un voto positivo, porque me ha entretenido, y me ha costado 0.50 €. Pagar 10 € por el juego es una locura.

1. When I found the game, I thought it would be a quest completing game, but it had way too many
repetitive enemy encounters that I grew bored of within the first 10 minutes.
2. You can't change controls to your needs which annoys me slightly.
3. The quests don't tell where to report and the game doesn't tell me where I could get more quests.
4. Over all, I have played better games for free so I don't really find paying 2 € for this to be worth my
money.

With just RPG Maker stock material this game manages to create more atmosphere and excellent storytelling as many triple A games do proving that you don't need a big budget or high end technology to produce a good game. This is truly 16 bit classic JRPG magic.

- captivating story that 'sucks' you in, you want to continue playing to discover the story
- well written dialogues
- well chosen soundtrack
- no grinding necessary (enemies are visible) but people who want to grind can choose to do so
- nice variety of character / personalities
- well balanced although on the easy side (for me difficulty was fine)

Sadly, this was not a the most pleasant rpg-maker Title to play.
But I truly like to play this sort of games and so I would like to give some advise about what I feel might improve this or any future titles:
Even though the developer tried to... lets say "fill" the screen with stuff, the world still feels empty. This is not due to missing npc or critter,
but more of a matter of having a short dialog when talking to a bookcase or something. This is always fun, what kind of books might be in there?
what else can you find? I always enjoy finding stuff hidden somewhere, which this game has, but you tend to just stop clicking random stuff when
there is just no dialong, no extra information or no items. Just little pieces of information would improve this experience greatly.
Moreover, about filling the screen, most screens tend to be labyrinths. You run through labyrinth after labyrinth in which you would have to backtrack
more than once if you wanted to get everything. Which is not very rewarding, even though there are dozens of chests. The problem here lies with the
Loot. Its mostly just an item that every mob on the floor could also drop. It is not worth going there, so you want to skip it... BUT sometimes you
get a very useful piece of equipment or unique skills for a character. Which is nice, still, I wish there were a lot less chests.
A similar problem with filling the screen is that most houses look identical. They are build with the same tiles over and over. This gets boring pretty
fast and if a building has a door, at least a short dialog with "The door is locked!" or something similar would be nice. Also, there are some slight issues
with tiles that should be marked as walkable areas, even if just for the player's comfort.
Additionally, some NPC outright ignore borders and start to walk out of reach. Or there are critter that block a path just because you cannot run through them.
Another thing thats bugging me is the lack of details. If I travel through the desert with two vampires that are not fond of sunlight I expect them to nag me, or
that you have to find some sun resistant clothes for them... Everything would be better than just outright ingoring that they should have a problem with all that
sunlight. Also, who thought it is a good idea to add a bossfight against 6 enemies and all of them are able to cast a mass paralysis spell? Aoe ftw.
But in the end, I was able to get 10 hours out of this title, so I guess it was quite Ok. Lets see what changed in the second game.
this game is a gem. if you are into JRPG and RPGMaker gaames, you should try it.
I love this game! The story is very easy to follow and does not try to be complex. The controls are simple and the game mechanics are easy to get the hang of. Very good short RPG.

I was only able to play for a few minutes and then my virus software closed out of the game and said that it had detected a malicious virus and named this game. So I turned off my virus software and tried playing the game and it wouldn't load. So I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it still wouldn't play. Then I had issues with my steam password. After hours of getting my password to reset, and in the meantime I had turned on my virus software again, I had enough. So I just uninstalled it again. I also uninstalled the sequel since I wasn't able to play the original that has malicious software. Not worth it.

TLDR: Tileset used strains the eye. Stock assets. Generic simple vampire hunter story. Small maps. Very simplified combat. Becomes a hotspot hunt for progress.
Very simple premisce of you being some vampire hunter, and going from one minor objective to the next to control the vampire population. You find a ring and what looks to be the main antagonist sends you on dubious errands. Eventually you end up back at your guild. Combat is mostly a hit and get hit affair with no tension or tactics.
I had a ton of pork chops(healing) and was easily going through encounters despite having avoided most foes on the maps. Eventually it became tiresome to have to be led around by the game, I was denied exiting my guild three times, first time because I supposedly needed a companion, then afterwards it was became I had not spoken to the guildmaster then I was told I needed to rest and all the beds I found had no trigger and I could not find a proper Innkeeper type NPC either.
Conclusion: It is just too simple and limited to really hold my attention and assuming I perservered through the chore of beating it, the sheer generic nature of it would almost guarantee that I would forever forget ever having played it, possibly dooming me to having to beat it again, and going through the chore again, just to be a completionist. Best write a review and remove this from permanent library for declutter and save myself a lot of headache.

of satisfaction with some dispensarie flaws!
The graphics are pure kindling hot stepping gold!
The music is primed into a solitude effort!
You get a few side quests and some other milligrams transportation to use!
Now lets talk about the bad the bosses and enemies are copied rehash
novelty garbage disposals and its not recommended for that teensy bit!
But if you like a game and a challenging secret optional boss that gains you
the best reward ever then check this one out in customer-wise decisions

First of all,i bought this game at a 90% discount. This is a 16-bit RPGMaker game and the first one of the "Ashes of Immortality" series,similar to the old school RPG's,with a vampire-vampire hunter plot.
There is not much to tell about the combat system,it's pretty much the same with a random RPGMaker game and it won't surprise you.
On the other hand,i think these games have more to do with the plot,the environment and the characters and less with the combat system. In my opinion the game is well-written with some sense of humour,with a very nice environment design,great music (for this game's category),sufficient character design and an interesting,subversive plot.
In conclusion: i have not finished the game yet,but i will,as i have bought all the "Ashes of immortality" trilogy. It's a pleasant game to spare some time and i surely reccomend it if you like this kind of games and certainly if you get it at a 75%+ discount.
Generally RPGMakers MUST understand that they cannot sell an RPGMaker game more than 3-5 euros (depending on the job the publisher has done). The majority of them are games with a sort time of gameplay,and easy programming with the RPGMaker programms on the market with nothing special except the love that gamers have for these old school RPG's. DO NOT take advantage of that because gaming community will punish you! I mean,why not to buy an old Assassin's Creed (II or Brotherhood) game with these money or a game from a different and large franchise which you haven't play?
I reccomend this game but only on a large discount...
Good humour, good story, good characters. Pick it up if you like the old 16bit style
It had a great story early-mid game which made me play for hours to see what would happen next. I think that and the dialogue between characters are the best aspects of the game. There were some grammatical errors (the typical your/you're) but still understandable and not hard to read like how Grimoire Chronicles, another game by the same developers, is.
Good buildings and details on the maps but there are parts that have some sort of invisible blocks. The dungeons are nicely done. There was one called a maze which really felt like one.
The game has 5 other characters that will join your party and near the end they will let you form your own team (although I think there is a bug with Carmilla in the last town where if she is in your party and you reset it, she would still be there).
As for the battles, I have seen people talk about the paralyze effect. Yes, it is strong and can be abused to beat Dracula and the final boss without taking damage from them. Similar gimmicks that can be abused are stun and poison. Personally, I prefered it that way because I have enough with enemies dodging so many times (by the way, they can dodge even if they are paralyzed).
I found the bat that lets you fly around the world funny because you can challenge Dracula for the ez mode (beating him will max level your party and give you more money that you can spend) and it's also possible to enter the final boss map before the plot calls for it.
The addition of side quests was nice. They could be quite challenging and the rewards were useful too. I spent a little more than 10 hours to complete the main story and 11 side quests. Although, I do wish that there was a way to explore the map after the ending because I didn't collect all the magic cards.
In the end, I think it was worth playing this game for the amount of money I spent on it (less than a dollar) and I will also be playing the second game from this saga ('-')b
I really like the gothic feel that this game has, and unlike some the typical rpg makers game out their, the story on this one is pretty good.

This is... an interesting game. You play as a Hunter (or Huntress) who is trying to protect humanity in a land in the midst of a battle between vampires and werewolves. This is appears to be an older game made by Warfare Studios that has been added to Steam.
The plot is decent, the characters interesting, and the combat fun.
Try it if you like a slice of horror in your RPGs.

A very good game if you aren't looking for too much of a challenge. Some others have complained that you can use special moves like paralyze or stun on bosses, but for me that makes me like this game even more! It took me about 20 hours total to do all of the side quests, etc. Not a bad buy for the price. Enjoy!

Das Spiel geht nicht (der Bildschirm schaltet gleich wieder auf den Desktop, während im Hintergrund die Musik weiterläuft). Scheint ein Bug zu sein. Entwickler kümmert sich leider nicht um Updates und Fixes. Schade, bezahlt und kann es nicht spielen. Daher: Nicht empfehlenswert!
PS: Das gleiche gilt auch für den zweiten Teil, der mich allerdings keine Review verfassen lässt, da ich angeblich noch nicht lange genug "gespielt" habe. Das ist nun wirklich ein Witz.

Habe es im Sale für 1,49 gekauft. Die zehn Euro würde ich auf keinen Fall dafür investieren.
Die Story ist mau, die Kämpfe langweilig, Ausrüstung und Handel fast nicht vorhanden, die Musik ist nichtmal ein Loop sondern hat nervige Sprünge!
Ich halte es nicht einmal für Durchschnitt...
