Llevo más de 18 años jugando videojuegos en los cuales los últimos 10 me aficione al rol de mesa.
Me alegra saber que los maravillosos creadores de Anima: Beyond Fantasy hayan creado este juego, ya que es y será siempre mi sistema favorito.
Por eso me duele decir esto: admirados creadores, el mundo de los videojuegos no es lo vuestro. Dedicaos a lo que realmente se os da bien: el rol.
Llevo 8 años jugando a Anima y la sensación es de estancamiento. Mientras otros juegos como D&D intentan """evolucionar""", los seguidores de Anima seguimos lidiando con fallos mecánicos de los que toda la comunidad se queja con razón. Dejad este mundo virtual (que se os da fatal, tanto este juego como el remake) y centrad vuestros esfuerzos en actualizar el sistema de mesa.
No seáis perezosos: tenéis a administradores en Discord y a una comunidad inmensa que sabe exactamente qué reglas fallan y cuáles deben quedarse. Usad esas FAMOSAS ENCUESTAS que tanto he visto que hacéis. Haced una nueva edición bien hecha, poned los manuales en PDF a un precio competitivo y os aseguro que los miles de jugadores que seguimos ahí compraremos la colección entera (y no estos pobres 763 seguidores). Con la tecnología actual y el apoyo de vuestra comunidad, podríais sacar un reglamento actualizado en tiempo récord. Dejad los videojuegos y volved a lo que os hizo grandes.

Eu costumo me aventurar muito com jogos estranhos que possuem um visual atrativo, jogos que maioria passa direto, e com cara de feito por um time pequeno. Não é à toa que quando topei com Anima Gate of Memories eu logo deixei ele na Wish List para ter a oportunidade de experimentar depois.

Trata-se de um jogo ARPG onde controlamos uma garota sem nome que carrega uma entidade poderosa selada em um livro. O estilo de gameplay vai te lembrar um pouco o DMC 3, mas com muito baixo orçamento, e bota baixo orçamento nisso. A maior parte do jogo será explorando uma torre, indo de lá para cá e liberando o caminho para o chefe da área. A Gameplay é… complicada… Olha, esse jogo é parte de um projeto espanhol do RPG de mesa Anima Beyond Fantasy — Isso eu só descobri quando já estava perto do final do jogo — e pelo o pouco que eu vi esse sistema se baseia em Magia e Ki, resumidamente, em poderes mágicos e físicos. Eu não conheço nada sobre o sistema do RPG de mesa, li pouquíssima coisa depois de descobrir e a maior parte dos relatos de jogadores aponta para um sistema bem hardcore de combeiro, onde a otimização é muito importante, além dele usar um D100 como principal dado, o que já me dá preguiça por que em RPG de mesa quanto maiores os cálculos menos eu gosto. Eu sinto que eles tentaram trazer alguma coisa desse sistema de mesa para o sistema de combate do jogo, porém o combate meele e o sistema de combos e progressão não funciona muito bem. O jogo deixar em suas mãos testar o que funciona ou não e te obrigar a lockar as habilidades em poucos atalhos para usá-las é um puta de um limitador, e unindo isso ao fato de você só ter 1 item por Run para resetar suas habilidades fica impossível você experimentar algo antes de ter certeza se funciona ou não. Ao me ver, eles deveriam ter pensado melhor nos combos em vez de só jogar nas mãos do jogador, porque sinceramente foi difícil entender como o jogo espera que você faça algo com poucas explicações e sem chance de experimentar. Unido a isso está outro grande problema que são os inimigos e a sua movimentação estranha e ataques com Knock Up. Eles atacam de fora da tela, não fica claro quando eles vão ser afetados pelos golpes e eles certamente não funcionam juntos, levando a timings bem específicos que você precisa desviar para encontrar uma oportunidade de ataque, mas abrindo também a chance de dois inimigos iguais resolverem usar o mesmo ataque com um timing levemente depois do outro que torna impossível você desviar, pode não parecer muito, mas devido a nem tudo responder muito bem e seu personagem ter um HP não tão alto, vai se tornando muito frustrante ao longo da jornada. Minha mais sincera recomendação é que você foque em Magia, Meele é ruim por que os controles não são tão responsivos a ponto das habilidades que demoram muito para sair e não combam bem serem bem utilizadas, é só estranho, responde muito mal. Já que você pode trocar entre um personagem e outro, eu usei a Garota focada em Magia e a Entidade fazendo um Híbrido para aproveitar que os ataques Meele dele são bem mais rápidos de executar.

E eu sei que parece que eu falei muito mal de tudo até agora, e sendo bem sincero, é ruim. Retirando a apresentação e universo, que é muito interessante e foi o suficiente pra me prender até o final, a parte do jogo é bem médio pra ruim. Os personagens são bem simples, a maior parte da história é contada por textos e documentos, que servem mais como Background do que outro tipo de argumento. O fato é, que mesmo a Garota, chamada de Bearer (Portadora) e a Entidade, chamada de Ergo, sendo personagens bem clichês e com uma dublagem bem seca, eles funcionam bem juntos, tendo uma dinâmica legal. Não há tanto a falar sobre os outros personagens, eles são mais parte do cenário e universo do que personagens em si, o foco do jogo é realmente os seus dois protagonistas. Anima é algo com um potencial enorme que fica sempre no médio pra ruim, acredito eu que não por falta de desejo de se fazer algo melhor, mas talvez falta de direção e orçamento. Eu não vou ser injusto, ler nos créditos um agradecimento “Para os que acreditaram que esse time pequeno de 3 pessoas conseguiriam fazer um jogo” me faz ser bem mais compreensível com os problemas que eu encontrei, óbvio que não foram só 3 pessoas trabalhando nisso, mas tenho certeza que a alma do projeto está nisso.

Eu deixo uma recomendação positiva, com todas as minhas ressalvas para que você pense se vale a pena. Olha só, tem um segundo jogo e eles até conseguiram lançar uma versão remasterizada desse aqui e do segundo, que talvez corrija alguns desses problemas que eu citei, mas só saberei quando jogar. Até lá, Anima Gate of Memories parece ficar na ideia de um grande potencial que ainda não alcançou a sua média para ter algum destaque merecido, mas valeu a tentativa.

Depois de dar final hora da análise.

O JOGO É INCRÍVEL. Realmente me dói dar nota negativa, mas tem um bom motivo.

A história é excelente. A gameplay é muito boa. O sistema de níveis adiciona um toque de RPG e personalização do personagem. Graficamente é bem bonito. Os controles são responsivos. A música e ambientação são muito bons.

Ou seja, TUDO nesse jogo é ótimo!!!! Exceto que....
Não sei se por abandono, mas atualment eo jogo possui diversos bugs. O jogo deu tela preta e fechou um tanto de vezes durante a gameplay, mas nada tãããão grave. O problema é que no boss final era simplesmente IMPOSSÍVEL trminar ele, pois sempre que eu morria ou destruía o primeiro obstáculo o jogo fechava.
Esse erro só parou quando troquei ne PC. No PC novo consegui matar o boss final, mas em vez de passar a cutscene do final por completo, ele passou só metade e depois me jogou de volta para o salão principal.

Com isso, apenas por causa desses bugs eu NÃO RECOMENDO o jogo.
Entretanto, eles lançaram recentemente a versão remaster na Steam. Dê uma olhada no remaster! Se tiverem consertado esses bugs, valerá completamente a pena!

游戏很不错，就是玩起来感觉全程缺钱缺经验，前期还行，后期特别是解锁了最后一张地图后，敌人数值膨胀得太离谱，最终boss自然也是更膨胀，不打折的话，推荐还是别买了。

Anima: Gate of Memories es un ARPG de acción y aventura con aspiraciones de “épica oscura” donde lo importante es pelear, lootear y seguir avanzando mientras el juego te susurra “tranqui, sí soy rol… aunque a veces parezca que sólo te quiero ver spameando habilidades”. Va de recorrer escenarios, reventar enemigos y sostener el ritmo con progresión, combos y ese saborcito de fantasía seria.

La primera impresión es clara: esto no viene a reinventar nada, viene a ejecutarlo “bien” dentro del molde. Es un single-player puro (sí, estás solo, como tu lista de amigos cuando farmeas), con 25 logros para que tu cerebro reciba migajas de dopamina y cromos para el ritual steamero de siempre.

En resumen: un juego competente del trío Acción/Aventura/Rol que apunta a entretener con combate y progreso… aunque Steam diga que ahora mismo hay 0 jugadores, como si fuera un museo interactivo abierto “bajo cita”.

Anima: Gate of Memories es de esos juegos que no necesitan gritar para funcionar: te da acción, aventura y rol en un paquete competente, con el típico loop de combate + progreso que se siente familiar. Si lo tuyo es el ARPG single-player sin complicarte la vida, aquí hay material.

Ahora, el elefante en la sala: 0 jugadores actuales. Eso no significa que sea injugable (es single-player), pero sí que el “ruido” comunitario está bajísimo. Aun así, 567 recomendaciones totales indican que, en su momento, bastante gente lo jugó y dijo “sí, esto vale la pena”.

En pocas palabras: es un “bueno” de manual. No te va a cambiar la vida, pero puede cambiarte una tarde… y a veces eso es suficiente.

Me ha encantado el juego. Aunque lo haya desarrollado un pequeño equipo, se aprecia el cariño y el esfuerzo. La historia es interesante con mucho trasfondo, te encariñas con los personajes y aunque puede ser frustrante en ciertos momentos de plataformeo y algunos combates, me quedo con ganas de probar la secuela.
Lo único que resalto negativamente es que, aún no habiendolo completado al 100% (solo he desbloqueado el final malo y el "True Ending"), no me atrae la idea de rejugarlo entero para completarlo totalmente.

리뷰에 앞서 팁 몇 가지

1. 패드 키 입력에 문제가 생기는 사람은 설정창에서 라이브러리에서 게임 우클릭 - 속성 - 컨트롤러에 들어가서 컨트롤러 구성기를 누르고 스팀 키매핑 활성화 할 것.

옵션에서 설정하면 되지 않겠냐 싶지만 이동키를 설정하기 위해 스틱을 올렸는데 R1으로 입력 되거나 공격키를 지정했는데 왜인지 자이로로 설정되서 패드를 움직일때마다 공격이 나가게 설정되는 등 키 입력 자체에 치명적인 문제가 있고 커뮤니티 탭에서 레지스트리를 초기화해보라는 개발진의 말대로 해봐도 안 고쳐짐. 스팀 키매핑 없었으면 키보드로밖에 못 했을 듯.

2. 도전과제 중 뉴 게임 플러스로 클리어가 있기 때문에 올클을 위해서는 2회차가 필수. 선택지로 달라진다거나 하는 점은 없으므로 워스트 엔딩을 먼저 본 다음 뉴겜플로 시작해서 엔딩 직전에 세이브해두고 배드 엔딩을 보고 난 다음 로드해서 트루 엔딩을 보면 됨. 농담엔딩 이른결말 엔딩은 뉴겜플 클리어로 취급이 안 되기 때문에 주의.

농담엔딩으로 1회차를 클리어하면(이름없는 자 1회전에서 에르고에게 무기를 껴주고 3타+마법광선 콤보를 무한히 써주면 아슬아슬하게 깨짐) 세이브 한 번으로 워스트, 배드, 트루 엔딩을 한 번에 볼 수 있지만 추천하지 않음.

뉴겜플로 시작하면 게임의 난이도가 올라가는데, 적들의 스펙상승은 물론이고 나오는 적들의 숫자나 조합도 상당히 빡빡해짐. 만렙+최종장비를 껴도 그리 쉽지 않은데 스킬도 장비도 없는 상태로 하는건 그냥 고문일 뿐..

3. 궁극의 수집가(모든 아이템과 무기, 유물을 수집) 도전과제를 노린다면 주의해야할 점이 하나 있는데, 필드에서 아이템을 '주워야 함'

등장하는 모든 아이템은 상점에서 구매할 수 있는데(벨레즈의 인장을 모을때마다 상점에 아이템이 추가됨), 구매하면 아이템을 사용은 할 수 있지만 '주운' 판정이 아니기 때문에 도전과제가 클리어되지 않음.

특히 신경써야 하는 아이템이 한 가지 있는데, 이름없는 자 3회전에서 그를 쓰러뜨리고 난 이후 그가 쓰던 검을 '상호작용' 하면 얻을 수 있는 무기가 하나 있음. 이 게임에서 아이템은 모두 보라색 불꽃 형태로 표시되는데, 이 검 하나만은 도전과제 클리어를 위해 얻어야하는 아이템임에도 불구하고 보라색 불꽃으로 뜨지 않고 상호작용으로만 얻을 수 있기 때문에 놓치기 쉬움.

ANIMA라는 TRPG세계관을 기반으로 제작된 싱글액션게임. 3D게임이지만 메트로베니아 요소가 꽤 보인다.
이미 기반이 되는 세계관이 있기 때문인지 설정이나 스토리 전개에 개연성에 큰 문제가 없다는 것이 유일한 장점.

액션게임인데 레벨업을 하지 않으면 기본적인 스킬 하나가 없는건 누구 머리에서 나온 생각인지 모르겠다.
스킬 성능들도 죄다 나사가 빠져서 찍는 것만으로는 부족하고 추가로 스킬 포인트를 투자해 강화시켜줘야 하는데 그나마 투자로 밥값이라도 하면 다행이지 투자해줘도 엉망인 스킬이 태반.

적이 다굴, 저격, CC, 광역기를 잔뜩 걸어오는 게임에서 쓰기 힘들 정도의 선후딜, 범위를 가진 스킬이 대부분인데다 힐 기술은 거의 게임이 끝날 때 쯤에나 찍을 수 있기 때문에 짤짤이 연계용 말고는 원딜 메타로 밖에 게임을 못 굴림.

심지어 이래놓고 스킬 초기화는 한 회차에 한 번 밖에 못 얻는 아이템으로 밖에 못 한다. 그런 주제에 이 아이템을 얻을 수 있는 장소가 특정 시점에서만 나오는터라 이게임의 수 많은 아이템들 중에 딱 이것만, 먹는걸 놓쳐버리면 다음 회차 때까지 못 얻음.

액션 게임에서 액션이 엉망인 시점에서 이미 끝났지만 문제가 액션밖에 없었다면 좀 재미없는 액션을 가진 스토리 게임으로 평가해줄 수 있었을지도 모름.

또 다른 문제로 액션 파트와 거의 5:5 비율로 나오는 플랫포밍 퍼즐이 있다. 퍼즐의 난이도 자체는 그리 어렵지 않게 만들어져 있으나.. 개판인 점프 조작감과 거리감을 자랑한다. 체강상 항상 애매하게 덜 가거나 더 가버리는 이상한 조작감은 기본이고, 넘어가야 할 장애물과 어느정도 거리를 두지 않고 바로 앞에서 점프하면 아예 버튼을 입력 할 때부터 막히는 결과가 정해지는지, 아무것도 없는 장애물 위 허공에서 투명 벽에 막혀 못 지나가는 문제가 있다. 특히 제일 심한 부분은 밟아야 하는 부분의 거리감이 거의 느껴지지 않는다는 것. 플랫포밍에서 내가 밟아야 하는 부분이 어디인지 아리까리하다? 말 다 했지.

보통은 그림자나 색의 대비를 통해 내 캐릭터가 점프 후 지금 어느 위치에 떠있고 어디를 밟아야 한다는 사실을 플레이어에게 명확하게 인지시켜줘야하는데 그런게 전무해서 낙사가 굉장히 빈번히 일어남. 내 캐릭터와 밟아야 하는 발판을 보고 거리를 재는게 거의 무의미해서 대충 이 정도면 어디까지 가겠거니 감으로 하게 되는데 위에 언급한 조작감 문제로 억까 당하는 경험을 많이 하게 됨. 퍼즐의 난이도가 정말 점프키만 누를 줄 알면 넘어갈 수 있는 수준의 난이도로 책정되어 있는데 조작감+거리감의 부재라는 이 요소 하나로 엉망진창으로 만들 수 있는것도 재능이 아닐까?

보스 난이도 설계도 실패했다고 느꼈는데, 잡몹전, 중간보스전까지는 액션에 나사가 빠져있어도 그걸 감안하고 만든건지 적절한 수준의 난이도를 보여주는데 보스전만 갑자기 난이도가 튐.

일단 모든 보스들 체력이 굉장히 많은데, 직전까지 상대한 중간보스에 비해 거의 3~5배는 될 것 같은 체력을 가지고 있는데다 밀치는 패턴이 들어가 있는 경우 무조건 낙사구간을 만들어놓음. 낙사 구간이 없는 적의 경우에는 보고 피하는게 힘든 정도의 빠른 패턴을 난사해 오는 편.

보스의 패턴들이 페이즈마다 3~5가지 정도 되고 그 중에서 ㅈ같은 패턴은 1~2개뿐임에도 불구하고 그 1~2개를 빈번하게 써오는데다 플레이어 캐릭터의 액션 조작감이 안 좋다보니 짜증이 배가됨. 이런 상황에 도중 실수라도해서 처음부터 다시 시작해야하면 스트레스가 상당함.

게임이 대충만든건 절대 아니고 정성들여 제작했다는 부분은 느껴짐.

스토리 자체는 뻔하지만 캐릭터들의 설정이나 관계성을 탄탄하게 구성해둔데다(서브퀘를 주는 NPC들도 스토리를 파보면 세계관, 스토리와 연관되어있는 존재들이란 걸 알 수 있음) 7~10시간 정도의 플레이타임에 BGM이 25곡이면 서양 게임사치고는 꽤 있는편이고 몹도 생각보다 다양한 편인데, 디자인적으로 비슷해보이지만 패턴이 다 다르고, 물리저항, 마법저항 수치를 건드려서 대응법이 다르기 때문에 완전히 똑같은 놈을 상대한다는 생각은 초반부 잡몹들을 제외하면 잘 느껴지지 않음.

낙사해도 완전히 게임오버가 되지 않는다거나 맵간 숏컷을 만들어두기도 하고, 스킬도 기본상태에서 나가는것과 액션도중 콤보로 쓸 스킬을 구별해서 지정할 수 있는 등 편의성 요소도 나름대로 꽤 생각해둔 편.

그 열정만큼 능력도 있었다면 좋았겠지만 안타깝게도 결과물은...
한국어 번역의 퀄리티도 꽤 괜찮은만큼 더더욱 아쉽게 느껴짐...

The Bad:
- Looks like a ps2 game (but released in 2016)
- More stock sounds than original ost, from what it felt, with sound levels being inconsistent
- Combat is mind-numbingly one-dimensional
- Very few enemy designs that constantly get reused throughout the game
- Boss fights that range from boring to gimmicky to straight up breaking the rules for when you get to hit them and when they get to hit you through your dodge
- Characters range from being blander-than-white-bread to vile, with horrible voice acting to boot
- The singular story "twist" is telegraphed so hard you wouldn't be able to miss it even if skipping every single dialogue and cutscene

Probably wouldn't be this harsh on an indie title if not for the distinct feeling that the dev team tried to make a statement of how much they hate anything good and/or fun in video games by making an uninspired copy of a cult classic play this horrendously. Do not bother with this, there is no fun trainwreck here, just a poorly made game

i liked the game, story was good, especially the background about each of the bosses, i read through them (since collecting them is required for each boss) and was curious to know more, i also loved ergo's model (he's shirtless too, and kinda cute) although he can be a bit annoying, but still liked him.

the game even in tutorial pop ups and till the very end, kept referring to console buttons, despite me using a keyboard and mouse, so had to see which button does what on my own, unsure if that was left as is but it could be confusing. also some areas can be a bit too dark in lighting.

even though the game is female protagonist, it didn't feel like the player is meant to be her, whether in dialogue, Ergo's interactions and everything else almost, and i dislike that, i did expect maybe something else, so just something to note, still it was okay, not too bad.

La pasé bien jugando, recuerda mucho a juegos de generaciones anteriores, tanto en lo positivo como en lo negativo, y si, no es una maravilla jugable pero cumple, me gustaría que durante el combate fuera más sencillo mover la cámara hacia los enemigos que atacas en vez de usar el L3 para fijar, pero fuera de eso el combate funciona, los personajes y la historia son muy de la vieja escuela pero si lo ves de esa forma no molestan tanto los diálogos de estos, experiencia decente, buena para rememorar una jugabilidad defectuosa pero con encanto, si no te llama eso no recomiendo intentarlo con este juego. 6/10.

Frustrating play style, confusing menus , and very unclear progression system. It's almost like they were trying to make a Souls-like but instead made a game that has controller response that is too responsive, resulting in the camera pointing at the sky more than where you want it to.

Hab das Spiel nie beendet. Endgegner sind super hart, was nicht das Problem wäre, wenn die Steuerung das supporten würde. Upgrades und LevelUps sind die Hölle, weil grinden fast nicht drin ist. Hat hauptsächlich damit zu tun, dass man immer wieder in dieselben Gebiete geht, die unendlich groß sind, um dieselben 5 Gegner (vielleicht waren es auch 6) wieder zu killen. Raus rein und nochmal. Und dann bekommt man kaum exp. Voll für den A****.
Holt euch was anderes. Das hier ist ein Kampf gegen die Steuerung und die Kameraführung

La interfaz es un desastre: si jugás en PC, ¿por qué me mostrás comandos del joystick como “presiona A”? ¡No tengo joystick, uso teclado! Además, el diseño de la interfaz es feo y molesto.
Lo único que rescato es que los efectos visuales son pasables y los diseños de personajes, enemigos y escenarios son lindos. Lástima que todo lo demás lo arruina.

📌 Nota: Horrible en todo sentido. El sistema de juego es incómodo, el movimiento es demasiado rápido y las animaciones no tienen peso.
Los controles son molestos y configurarlos fue un infierno. ¿Por qué no tiene detección automática? El sistema de fijado de enemigos también está mal implementado: marca mal y nunca apunta al enemigo que realmente me está amenazando.
El cambio de personaje, que podría haber sido una gran mecánica como en DmC: Devil May Cry, se reduce a tener una segunda barra de vida con magias de distinto color. No aporta nada al gameplay más allá del lore.
Los enemigos tienen colisiones molestas: si te rodean, no podés salir. Además, te tapan la vista constantemente y la cámara —que ya es un desastre— empeora todo. El juego cambia de tipo de cámara según la zona y se vuelve imposible atacar a algo cuando el ángulo está en la otra punta.
El parkour es torpe, algunas zonas son angostas e incómodas, y no hay forma práctica de moverte entre áreas: ni un sistema de teletransporte decente. Sí, existen atajos, pero son muy específicos y limitados.
Por si fuera poco, no se puede guardar manualmente. Tenés que volver al nexo para guardar. Si estás equipando habilidades, armas o mirando el inventario y te matan... tenés que repetir TODO. Es una estupidez.

📌 Nota: Los efectos de sonido están bien. Cuando cambiás de mundo, cuando atacás, cuando lanzás hechizos, todo tiene un sonido claro y funcional. En ese sentido, cumple con lo básico.
Pero el doblaje... el doblaje es una ofensa. Es insoportable, mal actuado, sin emoción, sin ritmo, sin alma. Es uno de los peores doblajes que escuché en años. Me saca totalmente de la experiencia, al punto de que me pregunté si fue hecho por fans amateurs y no por profesionales.
Y es una lástima, porque el soundtrack es hermoso. La música que suena en el menú me hizo sentir que estaba por entrar a una historia épica. Algunas piezas durante el juego son realmente emotivas o tensas, y elevan la escena. Pero incluso eso se ve opacado por las voces horribles.
Tenían un buen material sonoro, pero lo arruinaron al dejar que las voces sean un chiste.

📌 Nota: La historia es, sin duda, el alma del juego. Me gustó mucho. Tiene una trama interesante, con momentos que me dejaron pensando en cosas como “¿Qué le pasó a este personaje?”, “¿Quién era ese?”, “¿Cómo era Ergo antes de todo esto?”, o incluso “¿Qué sentido tiene este mundo?”.
Los prisioneros tienen historias que me atraparon. Me generaron curiosidad real. Cada zona y jefe te deja con más preguntas que respuestas, y eso, en este caso, lo considero algo bueno.
Ergo como personaje es contradictorio: su trasfondo es fascinante, pero su personalidad me molesta. Igual, hacia el final, logra redimirse un poco.
Es una historia que no subestima al jugador. Es críptica, oscura y a veces confusa, pero no en el mal sentido. Me dio ganas de seguir jugando solo para entender más del universo, aunque el gameplay me tirara para atrás.
Si esta historia hubiese estado en otro juego, con mejores mecánicas, hubiera sido mucho más recordada.

📌 Nota: El juego es absurdamente difícil… y no en el buen sentido. Los jefes están mal diseñados, son injustos, se sienten como un bullet hell sin sentido.
Te lanzan ataques, minions, poderes, y todo al mismo tiempo. Es frustrante. Y si eso no basta, tienen una cantidad de vida asquerosa, mientras vos morís en dos o tres golpes.
Me recordó al “dúo sacrodermo” de Elden Ring al principio: mal implementado, sin lógica, solo dificultad artificial.
Encima, no hay un balance real. Solo te ofrecen “fácil” o “normal”. Elegí “normal” porque, bueno, quería jugar normalmente... pero fue un suplicio. Al final, me vi obligado a bajar la dificultad porque no lo soportaba más. Me sentí asqueado conmigo mismo por tener que hacerlo.

📌 Nota: No me pareció que el juego requiriera mucho farmeo. Es un RPG, sí, y podés encontrar mejor equipo si explorás, pero con jugar de forma natural ya es suficiente.
Eso sí: el juego es largo, tiene secretos por todos lados y no hay ninguna wiki o ayuda externa clara. Algunos puzzles no me interesan, y perder dos horas en resolver algo que ni siquiera me importa me resulta absurdo.

📌 Nota: Es un juego largo. Lo terminé en unas 16 horas, y eso solo viendo uno de los finales. Si querés desbloquear todos, hay que volver a recorrer muchas zonas, buscar objetos clave, resolver puzzles, y encontrar caminos ocultos.
Lo más frustrante no es solo la duración, sino cómo se siente el tiempo invertido: lento, pesado, incómodo. Moverte entre zonas es molesto. No hay un sistema de teletransporte directo al nexo, y aunque hay ciertos atajos, son específicos y no siempre útiles.
Llegué a momentos donde pensé: “¿Vale la pena seguir o mejor miro el final en YouTube?”. Y eso no me pasa seguido.
El juego no respeta tu tiempo. No solo por lo largo, sino por cómo te obliga a caminar, repetir combates, recorrer sin ayuda y lidiar con zonas mal diseñadas. Y si a eso le sumás que no hay una wiki decente... la duración se vuelve un castigo, no un valor.

📌 Nota: Mientras jugaba, no dejaba de repetirme “ya quiero que esto se termine”. Y cuando uno piensa eso mientras juega, está claro que algo anda mal.
Este juego tiene cosas buenas, claro. Hay que reconocerle el diseño artístico, la ambientación, la música, algunos personajes y una historia con potencial. Pero todo eso está sepultado bajo una ejecución tan deficiente, tan frustrante y tan torpemente llevada, que se hace imposible disfrutarlo. Cada vez que algo me generaba interés —una escena, una conversación, un diseño— el juego se encargaba de arruinarlo con su cámara desastrosa, enemigos mal balanceados, controles incómodos o decisiones de diseño que rozan lo absurdo. Y lo que más me duele es que se nota que había una idea poderosa detrás. Pero fue mal implementada. No solo me aburrió: llegó un punto donde empecé a odiarlo de verdad. Hubo momentos en los que maldije a quienes lo crearon. Me costó entender cómo alguien pudo pensar que esta experiencia, así como está, era apta para salir al público. No me hizo sentir desafiado, me hizo sentir frustrado, confundido, hasta molesto conmigo mismo por haber querido jugarlo hasta el final. Tuve que bajar la dificultad para poder avanzar, algo que no suelo hacer, y lo hice con bronca. No por orgullo, sino porque sentía que el juego no estaba jugando limpio. No lo disfruté. No lo recomiendo. Y más allá de lo bueno que intenta ofrecer, es una experiencia que me dejó con rabia. Porque, sinceramente, pudo haber sido algo mucho mejor.Es un juego con una historia atrapante… atrapada dentro de una estructura jugable que la arruina a cada paso. Y lo peor de todo: voy a recordar este juego.

SO. THIS GAME. experienced a game breaking bug for me actually. I attempted to re-track to a previous area, and the doors broke behind me, trapping me in one of the rooms.

AND IT STILL HAUNTS ME.

I think about this game weekly. I was enjoying it so much. It's got a very Drakengard 1/2 vibe to the lore and story, and the gameplay was plenty fun. The character design was... mid, but honestly the world was so interesting I didn't care. I'm gonna try to replay it again someday. I hope I get to finally see the rest of it then.

Yeah it's gonna be a no from me dawg. This game has some charm and good ideas with the world building but the execution just isn't there. World is open ended and free to explore with little direction, however it's quite barren and little to actually do in it besides kill the same 2 enemies. Both combat and movement are clunky and sluggish. You switch between the 2 characters during combat to kill either the light or dark enemies, and switching between characters is seamless and you can set up a combo with it if done properly. Enemies have this tendency to just spam projectiles at you so combat is mostly dodging from one enemy to another to kill them quickly. Combat is heavily DMC inspired and these types of games need strong fluid combat to succeed and this one just didn't have it.

It is a bit difficult to review the game. However after I beat it and slept well I decided to give it a thumbs up.

Most of the negative reviews are correct! The game has problems. Subpar voice acting, lifeless models with little face variations and no animation during cutscenes is not what I’d say is a concern. It is a small studio and this is probably their first game in this genre.
The problem lies in the gameplay and its janky nature. One boss was buggy (stood still and did nothing till I beat him down to 20%). One other time, I jumped from a ledge to a solid ground. The character refused to land and got stuck in falling animation just above the ground. I had to restart from last savepoint.

The difficulty can be unforgiving but on easy, as I played, felt just about right for a character action game like Devil May Cry or God Of War (The Greek ones). I died the most against the secret/bonus boss. The 3 last bosses (Bonus and the 2 bosses of the True Ending) is where I noticed a big difficulty spike that forced me to actually use items beyond the healing ones and to change equipment a bit.

I like how you can customize skill builds for the 2 characters to make them different. However I felt shoehorned into turning the Bearer into a keep away mage, because her dodges felt more reliable. Also during combat you can combo between the 2 characters to produce impressive chains. But I rarely did so given how I focused the Bearer for magical ranged and Ergo for Close Combat.
There are a plenty of items to get, but it feels a waste to give them a short epic lore and names like Durandal, just for them to be a stat change + some passive bonus.

On the upside the story is good and the characters are likable. Ergo often jokes with the woman and their relationship is well presented, considering the cutscene quality. There are multiple endings.
Overall its a decent game that falls short. That being said It was enough to hook me and I will definitely try The Nameless Chronicles and Song From the Abyss.

Просто ні. Я вже давно шукаю щось що буде схоже на Drakengard чи Nier. На реддіті я побачив, що хтось радить це як гру яка схожа на Дракенгард, дивлюсь на цінник і просто сходу беру бо копійки.

- Ні, сину, у нас є Дракенгард 4 дома.
Дракенгард 4 вдома.
Якщо коротко то ця гра це типовий представник юніті екшн рпг. От як від деяких ігор тхне Unreal Engine так тут те саме але Юніті. І я навіть не знаю що навіть гірше. Ну хоч з оптимізацією тут все чудово.

Геймплей - Екшн рпг за 3 копійки з дубовою боївкою та... да просто поганий геймплей. Але є плюс, це не клятий соулзлайк. Алілуя! Проте це ще один дмслайк чи як їх звуть. Хоча, якщо гра намагалася походити на Дракенгард то да, вони схожі, такий ж жахливий геймплей)

Сюжет - ну, за 2 години я особливо не побачив чим мене може зацікавити сюжет, та і не дуже хочеться. Є головна героїня, в неї є напарник у вигляді книги (Привіт Нір), і цей напарник ПРОСТО ЖАХЛИВИЙ. Починаючи від озвучки закінчуючи самим персонажем. Це буквальний еджлорд в найгіршому прояві. Спам словом "babe" змушував мої вуха кровоточити. Та і загалом озвучка персонажів просто дно. Чесно, краще б її не було.

Графіка - юніті гра. Лицьових анімацій нема, катсцени це буквальне слайдшоу. Але бюджет у гри малий тому судити за це немає сенсу.

Саундтрек - your average dark fantasy ost, sir.

У висновку не можу радити цю гру, тільки якщо вам робити нема чого і тупо нудно. Може я чогось не викупаю, але просто ні. Гра намагається бути схожою на ігри Йоко Таро. Але в неї немає того, за що ці ігри цінують.

Єдиний плюс - гра має нативну підтримку на Linux.

Настолько душно что даже форточки не помогают. Бои отвратительные в них нет даже намека на удовольствие. Битвы с боссами это полный мрак либо ты тычешь две кнопки пол часа либо тебя просто убивают . Платформинг выше всех похвал. Персонаж вообще не понятно где находится в прыжке. Темные локации хоть глаз выколи. В игре к тому же нет управлением яркостью. Конченные дебилы делали игру. Однозначно к покупке не рекомендую даже с 90% скидкой.

Anima: Gate of Memories is a game that's part of a huge universe akin to Warhammer, called Anima, that also spawned a very peculiar card game if you didn't know. Is the game that good?? Well...

The graphics are very Anime-like, but really bad if you look at it from a certain angle, the gameplay mechanics are also not up to par with other third person platformer RPG hybrids... However, the game in itself has got such a good vibe that you'll end up looking past the flaws and enjoying it.

The game takes place in Arcane, you play as the nameless bearer of calamities, a girl who's lost all her memories, accompanied by a demon that manifests himself everytime she opens the Ergo book. The bearer of Calimities, aptly named, is an agent that's deployed by the Church of Abel to take care of very precarious situations in this universe... This time it's a palace that eminates great power, a place called Arcane. When the bearer arrives, she understands right off the bat that Arcane is a multiverse place, that extends beyond the reach of time and space... She also finds out that many top figures of the world, such as the head bishop of the church, Romeo Exxet, and a nameless figure, are in position there trying to forward their own plan for this calamity. The Bearer of Calamities will slowly but surely recover her memories as she fights through the hordes of demons and messengers inside the Arcane.

The game is pretty straightforward from here on out. It kind of almost reminds me of a game I played ages ago called blade of time... Except the bearer has a thicker booty, I mean, she wears better clothes lol. The bearer and the Demon both have their own skilltrees, own healthbar and you can swap between them with the right-click of your mouse. The bearer's magic spells arsenal is much better than her combat skills, and the demon's the opposite, so here you're tasked to make a perfect balance between the two as some enemies take more damage from spells and others take more damage from direct combat.

Another aspect of the game that I loved were the different endings with different specific actions to perform to get them. There's literally a joke ending in NG+ where you basically destroy the last boss in the first few minutes of the game and leave all characters inside of Arcane awed haha... Like, nobody expects you to destroy a hellish creature come to erradicate humanity in the first minutes of the game?

All in all, Anima: Gate of Memories is a [b]7/10[/b] game with mediocre graphics, mediocre voice-acting BUT a lot of lore and a lot of cryptic things to uncover during exploration! I highly recommend using a guide for this one... Some things you'll just never find out without a guide.

Me encanta el universo de Anima Beyond the fantasy he jugado a todos sus juegos en todas las modalidades y en concordancia con mis amigos que también son de la opinión, nos parece que el juego no llega a las expectativas del mercado actual, no me ha enganchado y por eso solo llego a jugarlo 70 minutos y es que a pesar de que el juego estéticamente puede parecer bonito, no es lo que esperaba, a nivel de jugabilidad guión... quizá y solo en mi opinión hubiese sido mejor un RPG en 2D que hubiese cubierto muchas de las riquezas que tiene el mundo de Anima.

вот тут все пишут про схожесть с nier. мне понравились обе игры и обе они по-своему разные. анима скорее напоминает немного несуразный, но действительно атмосферный рогалик с вайбами кастлвании и ниер. просто анима сырая, но возможно это простительно. или нет? игра сложная, потому что нужно терпение, чтобы закрыть глаза на неудобный геймплей, просто жирнющих боссов, как будто у них бесконечное хп и бесполезную прокачку многих абилок (которые просто не успеваешь или не можешь использовать). здесь классные персонажи, дизайны, драматичные локации. для студии из двух человек просто вау инди игра. советую всем ознакомиться с ней хотя бы просто ради интереса. но я нуб и не выдержала в ♥♥♥♥♥ до конца это проходить. может потом. всем тьмок🐇

Not a good game.

Premise, story and characters are extremely basic and very much a cutouts from your generic anime.
Protagonist has no character at all. Visuals are boring, character models are anime cookie-cutter stereoptypes, with low polygons and poor animations (except for pushing heavy object, for some reason).

Combat is stiff and boring, character feels unresponsive, enemies attack at random and don't have a consistent poise.

Dialogues are horrendous, it's just a pure dose of edgy cringe.

It's just bad. There are so many more 3D slashers out there, do yourself a favor and get a good one instead of this.

"Anima: Gate of Memories" is an older game from 2016. It's a venerable 8 years old at the time of this review. It's a handheld (Nintendo Switch)/console game that's also been put on Steam as a bit of an afterthought, as it's very much designed for the handheld/console gaming audience. It's based on a tabletop RPG setting but that really doesn't follow through to the rather mediocre gaming experience.

The overriding theme of this game, and thus my review, is that this is a terrible console port.

On the upside, the game does feature customisable controls and resolution, so at least some of the basic, minimum requirements have been met. Unfortunately there's a number of other technical defects and shortcomings which contribute to the game being difficult to recommend to gamers.

Because this is designed for handheld/portable gaming appliances, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the low power handheld gaming appliances that the game was designed for. These are unfortunate compromises and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was a second thought for the mobile game developers. The game is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for low power handhelds forces upon a game. While this might run well on a Steam Deck, we must remember the vast majority of gamers here are gaming on PC.

The controls and game handling are notably very clunky, sluggish and unsmooth here. It's janky and unsatisfying to play... and any experienced gamer will tell you, the handling, responsiveness and general gameplay feel of the control scheme must be well polished for this kind of game to succeed. Unfortunately, this is something the developer seems to have phoned in, with little to no apparent gameplay testing. They dropped the ball on this one.

Another defect in the game caused by the console-peasant-centric design is the intolerably bad camera controls. There's no effective mouselook, and control of the viewing angles is deliberately outside of reasonable control from the user.

This defect springs from the limitations of inferior console peasant children's toy gamepads, but on PC we don't have this limitation due to KB+M controls... however, the developer deliberately chose to arrogantly foist this handicap onto PC gamers. Out of spite, or laziness, it's unclear, regardless, once more console peasants and console devs have made gaming worse for everyone.

These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.

The game never really caught on with the millions of gamers on Steam, with a very low peak player count close to launch, and then just a handful of players launching this game every couple of days. This is undoubtedly caused by factors such as those raised in this review. It's always helpful with buying decisions to consider how popular and successful the product is, and unfortunately while this did accumulate a few participation trophy reviews, overall, people just aren't using it.

So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam?

"Anima: Gate of Memories" has the gamer gouging price of $20 USD, for which you could easily get any number of older AAA games. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend.

For comparison, the $20 asking price for this game could get you games like "The Elder Scrolls Online", "Yakuza Kiwami" or "Monster Hunter World". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this.

L'ambiance est plutot bonne mais les niveaux sont vides et les mouvements peu dynamiques. I would give it a side thumb.
The story, while somewhat confusing, kept me interested.
The voice acting, while it feels a bit off sometimes, is okay and the dialogs are okay either.
The puzzles are pretty nice, not too easy but not too hard either. The game is telling u almost nothing, which is mostly a good thing imho.
The levels are a bit dark overall, straightforward with a little bit of exploration and every level has a different "theme", so I liked them.
The graphic is, well, existing.

I'm right before the final boss now and the reason why I cannot recommend this game is the combat. Switched to "Easy Mode" during the first boss, cause the camera is a pain in the ***, the hitboxes are terrible and every single attack from every single boss or standard enemy interrupts ur attacks and abilities and often knocks u out, which feels incredibly bad. And the so called Easy Mode would still be at least the "Hard Mode" in some other games but at least its playable now. I have no clue what the devs wanted to achieve with this combat system. They achieved much frustration for me personally.
And because u have to fight many bosses and waves of enemies the combat system is solely the reason for no recommendation.

I really wanted to give this game a thumbs up for the "passion project". It is clear that the creators really loved their project, but it didn't end up good in the quality of the game. Graphics is basic, as well as the animations. Some VAs didn't even have pop-filters on their microphones, so not only some of the acting is very passable, but the recordings themselves are bad. Music - only one main theme. The balance of the game is absent, so if you want to play it - play only on Easy because the controls, the platforming, and the difficulty spikes without proper grinding places make the experience very infuriating. The story is a mishmash of all anime cliches from Final Fantasy, Claymore, Evangelion references, Silent Hill Homecoming bosses, Devil May Cry 3 tower, and many others. It is not bad to be inspired, but you need good directing to make it work. Still thank you, if I ever want to make a game I see the things I need to avoid.

📖 Don't let some negative reviews turn you away. It was created by a small team, and for this price it's incredibly fun and impressive in its own way. It's a good ~15h hack'n'slash adventure, definitely inspired by DMC1 and a few other games. For an indie, the environment design is amazing, along with the atmosphere it creates. Good music & well written story. The combat system may seem unusual, but you quickly get used to its speed, it's responsive and even has variability, due to the linking of various skills into combos. There is a lvl system, chars equip and many secrets. Ngl, took me a long time to get to this, but it’s filled with the spirit of pre-twenty tenths games and has a decent amount of fun, despite the slightly rough parts, like the platforming. It works, and it's not even close to bad.

One of the best games in the world!

Anima Gate of Memories, i.e. books that are played and told, and games based on them (now the next part of "Anima: Song from the Abbys" will be released).

The game has a few endings, it is similar to the older Devil May Cry parts, it is not easy, we wander from room to room, opening new paths, figuring out how to get there by opening others/killing bosses, collecting fragments of the story from memories. The game is quite hardcore. There is no difficulty level to choose from.

It is possible that the studio that created this world is small, because the game mechanics and graphics leave much to be desired, but I think that the focus should not be on this while playing, but on the story, because it can move you to tears, there is no point in playing without reading the notes .

When you read the memories of past personalities, they sound like stories. At the same time, the heroine's sweet voice reads them.

It was a lot of fun playing through this game and although there was sweat, irritation and I could even get lost, there was also great satisfaction because the world is so interesting and what's more interesting is what will happen next and what is written in subsequent memories that you quickly forget about about the disadvantages of the game, I was extremely stubborn and liked to play it at night xD

The heroine's relationship with her companion is also interesting here. Touching, sad, with some funny moments.

I became very attached to this series and the main characters <3

It's really hard for me to say goodbye to the characters (although I still have a game plus to play), and at the end of the good ending I felt a bit sad, emotional and nostalgic. Does there always have to be sacrifices in such a beautiful but cruel world?

As for the books, I saw that there are a lot of them and, if someone has access to them, they can meet many more wonderful characters. It's a pity that this is not so popular in my country (I'm from Poland).

Anyway, there's another game in this series coming up and I definitely need to play it.
If the creators have or will have any future plans to create other games in this series, I will always be open to them.

I'm putting this game on the Top Best Games list and I will never forget about it and the characters <3

Disclaimer: I backed this game on Kickstarter.
And I regret it. This is a Devil May Cry like, with a bit of Dark Souls included. The story is OK, the character are good, although a bit cliché that setting (Anima) is good abeit a tad derivative.
Sadly, the essential, I mean the gameplay, is bad. The camera management and the targeting, core to that kind of game, are terrible, you WILL fight with these for pretty much all the game. The dodging mechanics are so-so and the difficulty is badly implemented, as it spikes at numerous moments of the games and not in a good way. On a side note, two enemy mechanics are badly done, one is the stun, which takes way too long to get out of, even when you struggle, and more upsetting, the confusion attacks which are undodgeable and forces you to play with inverted movement commands.
In short don't buy it, there are better DMC-like on Steam, or go for the genuine article, I was way more frustrated than pleased by Anima Beyond Memories. And the worst is, I put that game on hold for a long time before playing (I'm a slow gamer) and not a month ago, I backed the next game in the serie. I do hope they learned of their mistakes before making that one, or I'll feel like a fool when it'll be out.

✅ Quite underrated JRPG. Really liked the story. Each bosses had their own backstories which were interesting to read
✅ 2 playable characters, the dialogues between them were interesting and quite funny sometimes
✅ Personally found the combat fun and satisfying

✅ Interesting lores

❌ Boss fights are [b]extremely difficult[/b] for a game like this. I don't think any average gamers can beat them
❌ There is a section in the game which is horribly designed; everything is dark and you have to pass through platforms where you can barely see anything. It was such a painful experience
❌ Movement/Dodging doesn't feel fluid
❌ Graphics looks dull
❌ Controls feels stiff which makes the platforming difficult

- Combat and platforming is not very good
- Poorly balanced and designed boss fights (the difficulty is way off and no bosses are really fun to fight)
- A bunch of errors in terms of what the voice actors are saying and the text actually shown

Verdict
- All in all it's a decent game, but it's pretty difficult (so don't be afraid to switch to Easy if needed) and the gameplay leaves a lot to be desired. But the story is quite nice I must say, at least if you get the True Ending (which I recommend you get for the full story!).

So get it on a sale, and even then don't expect it to be a masterpiece.

I'm someone that buys a ton of cheap indie games simply because I like to have them, and it makes me feel good to sort of see different games and what the devs did. I've played some really bad games, especially stuff with a mixed rating, so I needed to play this to see if it's something I want to refund or actually keep. I got it as part of a bundle with its sequel for 6 dollars so I will be evaluating this as a 6 dollar game. So, is this worth the price based on initial 30 minute impressions?

Graphics/atmosphere feel like ps2/ps3 era, but in a good way. You have to like that older style of games to like this. Combat gets repetitive quick but you can run past a lot of it so it's not too much of an issue. Attacking and magic feels fun and there's no real need to think much, you just button spam and stuff dies. There's a lot of easy stuff around to keep you moving forward. Written dialogue isn't bad but the way it's voice acted is bad, and it becomes cringe. It's like they didn't think of the way it would sound out loud when they wrote it and they didn't really explain to the voice actors how to deliver it. But it has that early 2000s dub charm and I liked it. Main heroine, sidekick, and villain are interesting enough to make me play. Story is good enough.

So, why do I think this ended up as mixed? Camera is really wonky, but you can get used to it. Think gamecube games. Generally any game that is annoying or some way or controls badly will get bad reviews on steam. With this one you have to overlook some jank, and there's tons of stuff added that you don't really need since all you need is your attack and magic ability mostly. But the game is not annoying or unfun to play, it keeps you moving forward and I wanted to keep playing but I had to clock back in from lunch.

Basically, if you like to collect cheap indie games and you aren't sure if this is something you would actually want to play through for 6 bucks - buy it if you like ps2/game cube era rpgs. It is that. This is way better than many other mixed games on steam.

Anima: Gate of Memories is an ambitious attempt from a small team to make a stylish hack-n-slash game that falls flat with frustrating controls, limited combo types at the start, and limited enemy variety with enemies that lead to tedium and frustration.

Anima: Gate of Memory starts with exposition on the world and what's been going on. I'm gonna be frank, I don't remember a lick of this. It was all pretty standard fantasy nonsense with some unintentional funny lines and pronouns.
Once the player is in the game, the motion feels a bit stiff, but fluid enough. I appreciate how quickly the game gets you into the action. Very soon you will be fighting your first set of monsters. The combat feels like swinging a wet towel at enemies, planting your feet in place to take swipes at enemies that do not get staggered until you complete your one and only 3 hit combo.
The 3 hit combo can be linked into other skills that are tied to 2 different meters. One meter that I presume is a magic meter (I just called it the slow stamina meter) and one meter that is for stamina (which I just called the fast stamina meter). (Side note; the fact skills are tied to the same meter as sprinting is annoying, forcing me to avoid sprinting when exploring the map to avoid entering combat at a disadvantage.)
While there are some pretty neat synergies between the skills you have, such as a powerful magic blade that will launch enemies into the air can be followed up by firing your magic missile blast. You can also ascend enemies in the air with one skill, do your 3 hit combo, then blast them with the magic missile. When you are actually able to execute these combos it can feel pretty empowering having that control over the battlefield, however, "when you are able to" is the key thing.
Something has gone amiss with the controls here. Often I pressed the correct keys with the correct timing and yet it would ignore my inputs. That aerial ascent combo would end unceremoniously with me falling back to the ground.
Couple this with some of the most annoying enemy designs. Any other projectiles that the enemies launch can block your own missile if the 2 collide together. The speed at which your missile moves basically means at anything other than point blank range will likely result in your missile being canceled by the enemy projectile. This is made all the worse when a boss you encounter early on will teleport away if you get close to them, forcing you to rely on either the easily blocked magic missile skill or the slow to recharge magic blade skill. None of this is fun. Speaking of wet towels, it puts a wet towel on the speed of the action and doesn't feel empowering.

Despite purchasing this game shortly after launch, the reason I am writing the review now is because I noticed they have a kickstarter for a third game (I didn't even know there was a second). This game has remained infamous with me as the time I got conned by devs. I'm weird; my brain requires that I play 3rd person games with an inverted X axis on the camera controls. Long, long ago after I purchased this game, I had contacted the devs about that and they promised to implement it. I decided not to refund the game at the time because I assumed I'd be able to play it soon (that was dumb of me). My 2 week window for refunds came and went and the patch never arrived. Fast forward 7 years later, and it seems inverted X never got patched in. This moment has always left a sour taste in my mouth with these devs.
Wanting to review the game because of the pending Kickstarter I was curious to give this game a second chance, but after playing it, it looks like the devs did me a favor by not patching in inverted X - this one was rough.

I would only recommend picking this game up if you want to know more about the lore and story behind the second and upcoming third game. I would not purchase this game if you think the action looks exciting.

I hope they find success with their kickstarter and third game in this series.

Играя меня мучал вопрос почему оценки смешанные? Да графика слабая, анимация и звук туда же но все же геймплейно это приятная экшен рпг. Все стало ясно когда я дошел до финальной локации где на тебя скидывают кучу врагов и механика перестает работать и приходится идти на хитрости. Для меня это убило все приятные стороны игры, да было сложно с другими боссами или локациями но после пары попыток все проходилось но финал просто душит тебя.

Gran juego la verdad, en un principio fui muy a cogerlo con pinzas por como se veia, como se movia la camara y como se posicionaban las habilidades, hace ya mucho que me lo pase y hace poco me saque el platino con eso quiero decir que es un juego al que hay que darle la oportunidad.

La historia es bastante rica y buena a mi parecer y eso que no conozco lo que hay detras pero cuanto mas jugaba mas me gustaba el juego, era como una adiccion la verdad, las salitas y los recuerdos me los pare a leer todos y cada uno empapandome del lore todo lo que podia.

Ergo es un grande y tiene todos mis respetos y aunque me esperaba el giro que da el juego eso no quito que lo siguiese disfrutando.

Es verdad que el juego llegados a un momento suele ponerte zonas donde hay entre 2 o 3 rondas de peleas contra enemigos en grandes cantidades pero la dificultad no sube, tal vez por que yo tuve mayor adaptabilidad al juego, o explore mas las zonas o simplemente consegui buildearme a los personas de buena manera pero quitando el hecho de que me parecio exigente desde el primer momento contra cada Boss no tuve realmente ese sentimiento de "Ay han complicado el juego por que si".

Literalmente el juego te recompensa mucho y te da lo que necesitas si haces el esfuerzo de buscarlo y el esfuerzo de aprender a jugar, por que quitando las raids de enemigos donde tienes que saber posicionarte y a quien atacar contra los bosses solo tienes que aprenderte un patron y tener paciencia.

Para mi personalmente, es un juegazo, si me hubiesen dicho que opinaria esto del juego cuando lo empece a jugar no me lo creeria pero para mi es asi y espero que el nuevo Song of Abbys siga por este camino o que mejore lo que ya esta hecho
