Честно говоря, не ожидал многого от этой игры. Но неожиданно для себя втянулся и с удовольствием доиграл до конца. Интересные диалоги, запоминающиеся персонажи, возможность выбрать различные варианты развития в эпизодах и конечно же хороший сюжет, который до конца держит в напряжении. Буду ли я проходить игру еще? Конечно буду, интересно сделать другие выборы и посмотреть на что это повлияет, хотя думаю основной сюжет останется неизменным. Однозначно рекомендую игру тем, кому особенно важен интересный сюжет и неспешный, вдумчивый гемплей.

Juega contigo desde el principio. Tiene ese tipo de historia que te obliga a prestar atención, a dudar, a intentar encajar piezas todo el rato. Y eso, cuando funciona, te atrapa mucho.

No es un juego que destaque por la acción ni por el ritmo, pero tampoco lo necesita. Su fuerza está en la tensión, en lo que sugiere, en esa sensación constante de que hay algo roto debajo de todo. A veces no termina de rematar algunas ideas, pero aun así consigue que quieras seguir hasta el final.

No me ha parecido perfecto, pero sí de esos juegos que saben envolverte y dejarte pensando un rato más de la cuenta.

Даже не знаю, что про нее сказать. Сюжет у игры правда классный, интересно играть. В этом автор безусловно молодец и заслуживает уважения, но проблем тоже много.. Во первых игра вылетает чаще чем работает нормально. Фпс проседает не смотря на нормальные характеристики компьютера и совместимость устройства с игрой. Так же к минусам можно отнести неудобное управление. В частности плохи движения мышью при выполнении действий. Спасибо

Ho finito Alfred Hitchcock – Vertigo e la sensazione che mi ha lasciato addosso è strana. Non è uno di quei giochi che chiudi e passi subito a qualcos’altro. Rimane lì un po’, nella testa.

La storia parte da un uomo che sopravvive a una caduta da un ponte e non ricorda cosa sia successo. Da quel momento inizia una ricostruzione lenta della verità attraverso ricordi, terapia e diversi punti di vista. Il gioco ti dà sempre la sensazione che ci sia qualcosa che non torna, come se mancasse sempre un pezzo del puzzle.

Ed è proprio questo che lo rende interessante.

La cosa che mi ha disturbato di più sono state alcune situazioni con un personaggio in particolare (Non voglio fare Spoiler). Ci sono momenti in cui il gioco ti fa fare cose che non ti fanno stare bene. Non sono difficili da fare a livello di gameplay, ma emotivamente pesano. Sono quelle azioni che mentre le stai facendo pensi: questa cosa non mi piace per niente. Eppure devi andare avanti.

È un tipo di coinvolgimento molto particolare, perché non nasce dalla tensione o dall’azione, ma dal fatto che i personaggi sembrano molto umani. Fragili, pieni di problemi, a volte anche difficili da capire. Non ci sono veri eroi qui, solo persone che cercano di sopravvivere a quello che è successo nella loro vita.

Dal punto di vista del gameplay è un’avventura narrativa piuttosto semplice. Si esplora, si parla con i personaggi, si ricostruiscono pezzi della storia. Non è un gioco che punta su meccaniche complesse o sfide particolari. Perché il centro di tutto è la narrazione.

E quando la storia comincia a ricomporsi, ti accorgi che molti momenti che avevi visto prima assumono un significato diverso.
Non è perfetto. Alcune animazioni sono un po’ rigide e il ritmo in certi punti rallenta più del necessario. Però è uno di quei giochi che riescono a fare una cosa difficile: farti entrare davvero nella storia.

Quando arrivano i titoli di coda non hai la sensazione di aver semplicemente finito un gioco. Hai la sensazione di aver attraversato una storia pesante, piena di scelte difficili e di emozioni scomode.

Ed è proprio quella sensazione di disagio che, alla fine, rimane più di tutto il resto. 🎮🧠

Пусть это и не квест в стиле старых Pendulo - это всё еще любопытная (не отличная, просто хорошая) история с одним гарантированным ВОТЭТАПОВОРОТОМ в жанре интерактивного кино (отключить QTE нельзя).
Из плюсов: порой на персонажей очень приятно посмотреть, люди разговаривают как люди, многослойная история - которая и в начале непростая - так в конце вообще крендель, [spoiler]самое натуралистичное отображение настоящего психопата, его логики и восприятия мира - которое я видел в видеоиграх: Фэй действительно внушает ужас, когда узнаёшь о её "подвигах"[/spoiler]
Из минусов: графон режет глаз (Unity), паузы и тупняки анимации в диалогах раздражают к середине игры, к моменту когда ты уже всё понял и надо бы закончить - игра тебя держит еще ~1.5-2 часа размусоливая одно и то-же по разному, отвратительные русские субтитры, которые иногда придумывают вещи из неоткуда (благо разговорный английский хорошо воспринимается на слух)
Брать строго по скидке, рекомендую проходить в один длинный заход для ощущения непрерывного КИНО(длительность игры ~8-9 часов, катсцены и диалоги не скипаются)

gives off the sensation of playing a Quantic Dream game more than anything but the actual thing just without the powerhouse visuals, expensive casting, or a supernatural/fantastical ass pull at the last possible minute. even with that in mind this managed to shock me in a few places, mostly with the subjects it tackled and the lack of tact involved lmao. (press X to self harm among other things???)

not sure why they bothered with the Alfred Hitchcock/Vertigo naming convention. licensing couldn't have been cheap and with this having such a tenuous connection one wonders if it would've even been worth it for the handful of people who were swayed by it, if that? i don't know maybe these random games with vague connections to their titular IPs work out better on the business end than i think.

„Alfred Hitchcock - Vertigo“ ist ein narratives Adventure von Pendulo Studios, lose inspiriert von Hitchcocks Klassiker, aber keine 1:1-Umsetzung des Films. Man spielt mehrere Figuren, vor allem Ed Miller, der nach einem Autounfall traumatisiert ist und behauptet, seine Frau sei dabei gestorben - nur dass es diese Frau offiziell nie gab. Klingt nach ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥? Ist es auch. Das Spiel setzt stark auf Psychologie, Erinnerung und unzuverlässige Wahrnehmung statt auf Action oder Horror.

[h1]📖 Handlung / Story[/h1]
Die Story ist ganz klar das Herzstück. Es geht um Identität, Schuld, Manipulation und Trauma - und das alles ziemlich verschachtelt. Man erlebt die Ereignisse aus verschiedenen Perspektiven, unter anderem aus Eds und der Psychiaterin Julia Lomas. Stück für Stück wird klar, dass[spoiler]Faye/Viktoria als Drahtzieherin eine zentrale Rolle spielt.[/spoiler]Ich mochte diesen Vibe aus Realitätszweifel und psychologischer Spannung, auch wenn ich an ein, zwei Stellen dachte: „Okay, jetzt wird’s wild.“ Manche Twists sind stark, andere wirken etwas konstruiert, aber insgesamt hat mich die Geschichte bis zum Ende bei der Stange gehalten.

[h1]🎮 Gameplay[/h1]
Gameplay-technisch ist es ein klassisches Story-Adventure; eher schon ein Walking Simulator. Wenig Exploration, eingeschränkte Areale zum Erkunden, Dialoge, ganz kleine Rätsel und wenige QTEs. Entscheidungen haben meines Wissens nach kaum Einfluss auf Beziehungen oder den Storyverlauf; alles ist von Anfang bis Ende gescriptet. Wer hier tiefes Puzzle-Design oder komplexe Mechaniken erwartet, wird eher enttäuscht. Es geht mehr um Atmosphäre als um spielerische Herausforderung. Ich persönlich fand das okay, weil ich mich auf die Story einlassen wollte - aber es ist definitiv kein „Gameplay first“-Titel.

[h1]🎛️ Steuerung[/h1]
Die Steuerung ist simpel und funktional. Die Charaktere werden direkt gesteuert. Manchmal wirkt die Bewegung etwas steif und altbacken, gerade in engen Umgebungen. Nichts Gamebreaking, aber es fühlt sich nicht super smooth an.

Quasi nicht vorhanden. Die „Rätsel“ sind logisch und nicht besonders fordernd. QTEs sind nicht der Rede wert. Man kommt gut durch, ohne Guides zu brauchen. Scheitern ist unmöglich. Das Spiel will erzählen, nicht stressen. Wer eine Challenge sucht, wird hier nicht fündig.

Optisch setzt das Spiel auf einen stilisierten, leicht comichaften Look. Die Charaktermodelle sind okay, aber nicht AAA. Mimik und Animationen wirken stellenweise etwas hölzern, was bei einem so emotionalen Spiel auffällt. Dafür sind Lichtstimmungen und Farbgebung stark - besonders in Rückblenden und psychisch aufgeladenen Szenen. Das Spiel lebt visuell eher von Atmosphäre als von technischer Brillanz.

[h1]🎧 Sound / Bildschirmtexte[/h1]
Der Soundtrack ist dezent, unterstützt die Stimmung gut und drängt sich nicht auf. Die deutsche Vertonung ist solide und gut gelungen, wenn auch nicht immer auf Top-Niveau. Deutsche Untertitel sind ebenfalls vorhanden und gut lesbar. Insgesamt passt der Sound zur ruhigen, psychologischen Ausrichtung; auch, wenn sich ein bestimmtes Musikstück sehr oft wiederholt.

Bei mir lief es stabil, keine Crashes. Kleinere Clipping-Fehler und steife Animationen sind mir aufgefallen, aber nichts, was das Erlebnis kaputtmacht. Technisch eher „okay“ als beeindruckend.

Wer auf Thriller, Identitätskrisen und manipulierte Wahrnehmung steht, wird hier abgeholt. Wer Action oder komplexes Gameplay sucht, eher nicht. Für mich war es ein solides, atmosphärisches Story-Erlebnis mit starken Momenten - auch wenn nicht jeder Twist perfekt sitzt.

I just can't recommend this "game" mostly because it isn't a game, it's a Visual Novel masquerading as a game.
I felt like a passenger most of the time, my "choices" made absolutely zero impact
The main character was a douchebag who I had no interest in helping in fact I kinda wanted the villain to win....
I spent half my time wondering around looking for some item to perform a menial tedious task
Which brings me to the end, It's like Hitchcock couldn't think of a way of wrapping the story up so he had the cat kill her.....someone want to tell me how the cat got onto the platform under the bridge?
Someone want to tell me why Faye climbs all the way up the bridge instead of just lowering herself?

I don't even know how to put this into words. Do not play this game! Do not waste your time because it doesn't respect your time. I have never played a story type game (Tell-tale, Quantic Dream etc.) where they waste your time doing every little single action you can think of. I get it, insert the key, turn the ignition and then drive but this game takes it to a new level with EVERYTHING almost requiring a action QTE prompt. It even happens with things you wouldn't expect it to.

The dialogue choices don't even matter because you're just going to say everything on the list anyway, so why bother?? It's like the movie keeps pausing and you have to continually hit play on the remote. If you feel like "oh this is a big choice" forget it because the next few scenes it either doesn't really matter or 2ndly it never happened. WOW, I love games where my choices don't matter.

Let's see, the beginning of this game is probably one of the worst introductions to a game. A psychiatrist named Julia comes to visit Ed Miller to help him recover from his case of vertigo. Ed is a douche when you meet him. I have no desiree to help him, he's got his shirt off, he has this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ attitude, his aunt is creepy like she might be manipulating him, so why should I even continue playing? Is it because I'm a Hitchcock fan and I like things relating to him? I like Hitchcock but not a super fan. I struggled to continue but I bought the game awhile so I might as well push through.

The voice acting is good most of the time. There are moments where the actors just forget to keep doing the accent they're doing like they're from another country and it was just left in. There aren't many moments but you can tell when it pops up.

The character design and animation is super ugly. Every character is ugly. I got used to it sure but oh my god like some of the worst looking humans imaginable. I know it sounds like I'm exaggerating but it's puppet/robotic territory with some of this animation. Also lip sync is bad.

This game could have been cut by half with all the filler. It has way too much walking around. A lot of it was me trying to find the objects the game wanted me to find. It was seriously like a guessing game of what the game wanted me to do because never too clear.

- überraschende Plot-Twists
- Spannend von Anfang bis Ende, wie ein Buch was man nicht weglegen möchte
- Sehr sehr fesselnde Story (Anfang etwas trocken, zieht einen aber schnell in seinen Bann!)
- faire Quick-time Events. nicht zu viele!
- wunderschöne Schauplätze
- Charaktere in die man sich hineinversetzen kann!

das Spiel bleibt definitiv positiv in Erinnerung und zählt zu unseren Top-Spielen! Definitiv Kaufempfehlung.

Game is heavily inspired by the Telltale games. Except the choices matter even less. The story is fine. Gameplay is solid. But the pacing is a bit slow and the mystery does not really grip the player. It is a solid game that has a striking art style and good voice action. No major issues during gameplay.
If you want a Telltale style game with a bit of mystery, get it.

Шикарное интерактивное кинцо.

Отличная история, шикарные кинематографические приёмы - всё это есть. Следить за развитием событий и строить свои гипотезы интересно. И даже когда кажется, что ты уже всё понял заранее - игра найдёт, чем удивить.

Пусть тут нет вариативности вроде Detroit, игра всё равно стоит потраченного времени.

Минус, пожалуй, только один. Из-за упора в кинематографичность, крайне режут глаз кривые анимации. Местами тот же Эдд напоминает человечка из The Sims и это немного бьёт по атмосфере. Но всё равно - однозначно рекомендую к прохождению.

An enjoyable interactive fiction game in the style of the telltale games. The story was engaging and full of twists that kept me guessing. I do wish there were more interactive elements beyond just the main story choices, like things to inspect or extra lore to read while I was playing.

The voice acting was mostly good and the character models looked solid overall, though Faye’s model felt a bit off or unpolished, something about the hair just didn’t look right to me and was putting me off.

The story has a few plot holes, but they were easy to overlook because I enjoyed the story so much. It was a relaxed experience, the game flew by, and I genuinely cared about the characters and the story.

Шикарная игра ! Я , правда , перепутал фильмы "Ребекка " и "Вертиго" (и , все равно , оттуда я помню только начало) , но от этого мне было только интереснее играть.
QTE много ( gameplay core) , но они ни на что не влияют , кроме побочных достижений.
Музыка великолепная. Я даже задумался, не из фильма ли они ее взяли. Придется пересмотреть.
Сюжет очень хорош. Не помню целиком фильма, но (!) сюжет игры работает на отлично, даже при всех внесенных изменениях. А их явно не мало. (Думаю, что за основу был взят сюжет фильма и сильно адаптирован).
+++ История кота на фоне держит в напряжении.

Also, ich habe [b]alle[/b] Telltale und Life is Strange Spiele gespielt, die sich ja qualitativ untereinander unterscheiden. Vertigo hat scheinbar (Anzahl Reviews usw.) nicht so viel Aufmerksamkeit bekommen und auch ich bin durch Zufall darauf gestoßen. Mehr Reichweite hätte es auf jeden Fall verdient, denn mir hat das Spiel von Beginn an so gut gefallen, dass ich sagen muss: für mich kann es mit den besseren Telltale und LiS Teilen locker mithalten!

Mir haben vor allem das Setting, die Atmosphäre und auch die starken Dialoge extrem gefallen, grafisch trifft es meinen Geschmack auch. Als Überraschung ist die deutsche Sprachausgabe ebenfalls sehr gut. Das Spiel hat ein eher langsames Tempo und lässt sich gerne mal Zeit, aber ich fand das Pacing gut, denn dadurch, dass einige Szenen etwas länger dauern (bevor der Übergang kommt) gibt es diesen u.U. mehr Bedeutung. Man hat das Gefühl einen guten Krimi zu schauen und mich hat es oft an die Serie Hannibal erinnert, durch die Psychiater / Patient Beziehung.

Die "Hypnoseszenen" waren für mich ein Highlight, weil atmosphärisch stark. Die Story war auch interessant, allerdings gegen Ende auch etwas verwirrend. Das alles hat aber seinen Grund, denn Alfred Hitchcock ist wohl für sowas bekannt. Vertigo basiert nicht auf einen Film, sondern beinhaltet einzelne Aspekte aus seinen Werken, bietet also eine Mischung. Das Ende ist einfach super dämlich und lustig (Katze).

Die Spielzeit beträgt gute 10 bis 12 Stunden. Was ich allerdings weniger gut fand, war zum einen, dass man Zwischensequenzen / Videos und Dialoge nicht überspringen kann und dass sich die Musik nicht großartig ändert, während der gesamten Spielzeit, das wars aber auch schon mit Kritik. This is kind of a difficult recommend. The game tries to be an interactive movie similar to [i]Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy[/i] or [i]Heavy Rain[/i], but the interactivity and the extent to which your choices can affect the plot are much more limited. As another review that I've read (in German) pointed out, sometimes you get a list of topics in the conversation and it seems like you must choose one and leave the others unsaid (which is also sometimes the case), but instead it's just a sort of checklist of things you have to say in any order before the scene can progress past the current conversation. This felt particularly jarring in one instance where the "footage" of the main character Ed's memories on screen during the conversation seemed to loop over and over with only minor differences in camera angles etc. while he was talking about each item in a long checklist with the psychologist Julia.

What little interactivity you do get mostly involves being able to walk around freely in a small section of the world until you've interacted with all the quest objectives the game asks you for, then you get another cutscene or three. A few times you can also find items that aren't related to your quest objective, and interacting with those just triggers a voiced line about them but doesn't seem to affect plot progression. I would have liked a few more of those items for the sake of worldbuilding. In particularly dramatic scenes the game will prompt you to perform specific button presses or analog stick movements to make your character take a single step forward or turn a door handle etc. Sometimes these are presented as quick-time events, though there don't seem to be any consequences for failing them and you can simply try again. Sometimes I had to ask myself if the current scene wouldn't have been better with some fewer explicit button prompts, or if simply left as a cutscene with zero interactivity, but I guess that's a matter of taste.

The characters in this game are kind of a mixed bunch. Unfortunately I took an instant dislike to Ed as soon as I first heard him speak, but his psychologist Julia somewhat made up for that. The sheriff Nick Reyes was also more likeable, though until the end I wasn't sure what to make of his assistant Adam - partly due to some strangely inconsistent delivery of his English voice lines, most obvious in the scene when the sheriff investigates the car wreck. The graphic design of some characters is a bit of an acquired taste: at first I was very put off by the very pointy faces on Ed's aunt Claire and his mother, but by a few hours in they had kind of grown on me.

And the elephant in the room: after completing it, I still don't understand how they justified attaching Hitchcock's name to this original story. Sure, it involves the condition of vertigo, traumatic memories and the darker corners of the human psyche, and the famous dolly zoom effect from the 1958 movie is even used a few times, but otherwise I couldn't see any relation at all. "General vibes", maybe?

So why do I still recommend this game overall, despite the multiple shortcomings listed above? Well, what I tend to look for in a game is being told an interesting story, and this game definitely delivers in that aspect. I liked the central hypnosis session gimmick, where you see a previous scene from Ed's childhood memories again but without the nostalgia filter (and [spoiler]brainwashing[/spoiler]) distorting some details, which you can then look into more. The German reviewer I mentioned above had found it overly repetitive, and while I can see where they're coming from, the direct before-after contrast really helped me viscerally understand what had caused Ed's problems and part of his unlikeable personality. I also enjoyed the soundtrack, which did a great job of setting the mood.

Overall, if you aren't put off by a very linear plot and very limited interactivity, and enjoy piecing together mysteries and exploring psychological issues, this may be one of the better games for you. I got it at a steep discount, but in retrospect it's easily worth at least 50% of the asking price. 20€ for <10h "gameplay" which mostly consists of sitting and listening is a bit much though, IMO, even though it [i]was[/i] an entertaining story.

A bit rough around the edges, would only recommend it if you don't mind the game to be way more linear than others in the genre, it only has a handful of branches at the end where your choices can change a scene. The graphics are ok, the game is a bit unoptimized, uses way more gpu than games that look waaay better. The story on the other hand is the best thing the game has, and its pretty dark once it all gets revealed. Grab it on sale if you want to give it a try!

I don't understand people complaining about the graphics. It shows you on this very page the style. I'm also sure they've all played minecraft.

The story, pacing and plot more then enough makes up for it. The game is labeled as Interactive Fiction. Not choices matter. It doesn't state there's new game plus. Faulting it for what isn't on the tin is on you.

This is a 10 hour suspense thriller movie that you can move at your own pace and change some dialog here and there. that's all. That's what interactive fiction is on its own without the choices matter tag.

I don't want to state more about the story because i see that in this case a spoiler. The game is cheap and often on sales but it's worth its full price.

The story is simply great! The scenes or world is well crafted. The animations and voice acting comes off awkward a fair amount. Not so much as to ruin anything though. I wish there had been a little more interactivity aside from just swiping the mouse or punching keys. The exploration aspect of the world could have been a bit more for my tastes. All in all a good game. I will probably play through it again.

Came for the name recognition, stayed for the game. Has little to do with the Hitchcock film other than a starring role for suspense and psychological afflictions, but is a fantastic story in its own right. The plot is on rails, but it is in a good book also. Great fun and well paced all the way to the end.

Leider schmiert das Game immer wieder ab, aus einem mir unersichtlichen Grund. Die Grafik ist weder besser noch schlechter als ein beispielweise Walking Dead und empfinde ich nicht als störend. Zumal man anhand der Bilder und des Teasers vorher schon sieht, wie es aussieht. Die Story ist gut. Slow Burn Krimi muss man halt abkönnen, daher kann ich zumindest Kritikpunkte dahingehend verstehen. Wer keine Geduld beim zocken hat und Storygames gern in 5h durch hat, sollte hiervon also lieber die Finger lassen. Denn es kann durchaus passieren, das man um 6 Dinge zu sammeln auch 6x langsam durch die Zimmer humpeln muss... Durch die WIRKLICH häufigen Abstürze kann ich aber keine positive Rezension dalassen.

Ощущения от игры двоякие. С одной стороны, это атмосферная история с интересной подачей и явной попыткой сделать интерактивный триллер в духе Хичкока. Но с другой - дважды проходить её точно не хочется.

Действий в игре очень мало: большую часть времени ты просто наблюдаешь, слушаешь диалоги и следуешь за сюжетом. По ощущениям это скорее фильм, в который иногда дают нажать кнопку, чем полноценная игра. Если ждать активного геймплея, загадок или свободы действий - будет разочарование.

Как одноразовый опыт и интерактивное кино «Головокружение» может зайти, особенно если любишь медленные психологические истории. Но как игра - ей не хватает динамики и вовлечённости. Прошёл, посмотрел историю и пошёл дальше, без желания возвращаться.

RESEÑA ACTUALIZADA: Tras completar la historia, (sin todos los logros), puedo decir que la historia en si está interesante y bien desarrollada; una trama sobre los oscuros pasados de varios de los protagonistas, con infancias llenas de abusos y problemas familiares, como puede alguna adicción. Aquí la historia se centra en Ed, quien tuvo una infancia complicada, por culpa de su padre, pero tras un terrible accidente en coche, y la muerte de su familia, su tía se ha encargado de lavarle el cerebro, manteniéndole en el olvido gran parte de la verdad.

No es la mejor novela visual que he jugado, pero merece la pena probarla y darle una oportunidad.

Nie jest zła, ale na pewno bym jej nie kupił drugi raz, nawet podczas promocji. Rozkręca się powoli, fabuła jest dosyć sztampowa. Środkowa część ciekawa. Kilka scen nie ma sensu. Technicznie pozostawia sporo do życzenia, np. pod względem sterowania. Zaraz po niej włączyłem co najmniej równie filmową Beyond: Two Souls i jakość produkcji jest nieporównywalnie lepsza.

As a massive fan of Alfred Hitchcock and his films especially Vertigo. I went into this game with high expectations, and I’m happy to say it clearly comes from a place of respect for Hitchcock’s work.

Rather than trying to retell the movie, the game captures its spirit, obsession, identity, unreliable perception, and psychological tension. The atmosphere, pacing, and visual style strongly echo classic Hitchcock themes, and there are plenty of nods that fans will appreciate without feeling like cheap references.

This game tries to be somewhat choices matter type game but in reality you dont and cant change anything, half of the game you play in flashbacks and half of the game you just go through a single already made for you path.
Story is not bad and not great, its just a original story an experience but it lacks structure, builds interest very slow until middle where you already know everything and there is no mystery.
I liked the ost but game had voice issues that are randomly go loud or very quiet. Couple of bugs but in the end a smooth experience.

I wanted to like this. The reviews showed a lot of promise. But, due to the lip-sync issue, the weird pause after making decisions (I have a really good system), and the pace of the story, I couldn't get myself to play more than about 4(ish) hours. The QuickTime events were aggravatingly slow and pulled away from the game (Just my opinion...)

I remember the taste of sand on my lips. My throat was dry and I was thirsty. Crawling to my knees, I saw the bridge. Despite the sun stinging in my eyes, I saw a man standing on the railing. Dad?! This can’t be. I started running but like years before, again, I was too late. He jumped. Leaning over, I saw the wreckage of my car, and I knew that Faye and Jenny had to be down there. For sure, they must be dead. What have I done?

After a gripping opening, the story in Alfred Hitchcock – Vertigo begins deceptively calm, unfolding like a love story. Soon, however, the narrative takes a dark turn, growing increasingly eerie and layered with unanswered questions. Flashbacks gradually expand the plot, weaving in the protagonist’s childhood, family trauma, and repressed memories, introducing his father, mother, and buried emotional wounds. As the mystery deepens, friends, acquaintances, and past events are drawn into the web, broadening the psychological scope until the player is confronted with a haunting truth.

Up until the final moments, the game remains thoroughly unpredictable, with the narrative repeatedly twisting and plunging deeper into revelations that are truly horrifying, brutal, and deeply disturbing.

The visual style of the game effectively evokes the tone of Hitchcock’s films, using disorienting camera angles and a haunting score to create an unsettling mood. Its original orchestral score, masterfully, channels the same tension and emotional depth as Hitchcock’s classic films.

The developers use blurred edges around the screen as a stylistic choice to reflect the protagonist’s vertigo and psychological instability, blurring the lines between reality, memory, and hallucination. It’s a deliberate and thematically fitting effect, and it’s subtle enough not to distract. However, I personally didn’t like it, and it remains the only aspect of the game I found off-putting, especially since it can’t be disabled.

Despite offering choices and quick time events, the game is entirely linear with no meaningful consequences or alternate endings. The game is more an interactive movie than a game. But that’s perfectly fine if you accept it as such.

Alfred Hitchcock – Vertigo has one of the most compelling stories in a game I have ever experienced. Story-telling is slow but gripping and highly engaging. As a player, you do want to know what happened, why it happened and how it all comes together.

All characters are portrayed very realistic and believable. Voice acting is excellent, at least in English. I initially played with German voice acting, and while it’s also well executed, the main protagonist Ed comes across as unlikeable. He comes across better with the English voices.

In summary, Alfred Hitchcock – Vertigo is an excellent game. I highly recommend it, and as a point-and-click adventure, it's a real highlight that shouldn't be missed.

Alfred Hitchcock - Vertigo really surprised me with how many twists it managed to throw at me. The deeper I got, the more I realized the story wasn’t nearly as straightforward as it first looked. Identities, histories, hidden motives; every character has something going on beneath the surface, and piecing together where everything comes from is genuinely satisfying. It’s not just about solving a crime; it’s about understanding each person involved, step by step.

What I enjoyed most was seeing the story from multiple perspectives. The game really commits to showing every angle, and that made the characters feel fuller and more human. There are lots of small interactions, achievements, and details to discover, which makes the world feel more grounded. The music is also worth mentioning, it fits the atmosphere perfectly and helps sell the tension, mystery, and the quieter emotional moments.

If I had to point out a flaw, I’d say the quick-time events weren’t really necessary. The game would still work just as well without them, and they sometimes pulled me out of the moment. But that’s a small thing compared to how well everything else is done.

Overall, it’s a beautiful, cleverly written game with memorable characters and a story that keeps pulling you deeper the more you play. I really enjoyed the experience.

Eu gostei pra caramba e joguei diretão de curiosidade, os plots são legais, mas vale dizer que tem horas que enche o saco não poder pular cutscenes (se der load num save por exemplo) e que a jogabilidade é meio repetitiva por você ter de ver o que ele lembra, depois ver a verdade e depois analisar a verdade. Se você não tem paciência não jogue.

Das Spiel ist eher Kinofilm mit etwas Interaktion (bisschen Rumgehen, mal Sticks bewegen oder mal eine Taste betätigen). Technisch lief es Reibungslos. So weit so gut.

Mein Problem mit dem Spiel ist, dass die Story sehr langweilig, was ich von Hitchcock's werken sonst nicht kenne. In dem Teil, in der man die Zeit genauer betrachtet ist super langweilig gemacht und fügt weder Spannung noch Spaß bei. Der endgültige Punkt, warum ich letztendlich nach mehr als 2 Stunden nicht mehr konnte war, dass die Art und Weise, wie Dialoge in dem Spiel aufgebaut sind einfach Cringe sind.

Schade, habe Hitchcock's Werke immer gemocht und zu schätzen gewusst.

Avventura grafica lineare con scelte solo illusorie, diciamo quindi un Film con scelte di dialogo e impatto quasi nullo di ciò che si sceglie. Il fatto è che comunque ci si trova di fronte a un'ottima avventura grafica, con una trama solidissima, mai banale e scontata. Bellissimo, ricco di dettagli, con ottimo voice acting (inglese, italiano solo sottotitoli), da giocare in famiglia e in relax. Dura 9 ore, finito in due giorni.

Nach fast 12 Stunden habe ich das Spiel endlich durchgespielt. Es mag sein, dass es für einige als eine Art Erleichterung klingt, und das ist es auch. Im Grunde ist das Spiel an vielen Stellen spannend, aber es wirft oft eher noch mehr Fragen auf, als in dem Augenblick beantwortet bzw. es wechselt dann vorerst zu einem anderen Charakter. Natürlich wird erst alles am Ende aufgeklärt. Zwischendurch kann man nur Rätseln bzw. vermuten - oder kommt sogar selbst drauf. Aber im Endeffekt nichts neues... kann man überhaupt heute noch "neue" Geschichten erfinden?

Das Spiel spielt sich quasi fast genauso, wie das Spiel "Fahrenheit". Man wird beschuldigt und muss seine Unschuld Beweisen und die anderen Seite (Polizei) wird gegen dich ermitteln - NUR halt nicht in der Intensität wie bei Fahrenheit.

Auch bewegt man sich zu selten in den Kapiteln und das auch recht kurz. Man ist dabei mehr am zuhören und gelegentlich mal die Schultertasten zu drücken oder die Sticks zu bewegen, wenn man mit Controller spielt. Hier kann man im Grunde weder was verpassen noch falsch machen. Das hat damals Fahrenheit besser gemacht - da konnte man einiges falsch machen oder gar ganz versagen bzw. es gab ein System, was bei zu vielen falschen Antwort den Protagonist in den Selbstmord getrieben hat.

Leider wirken hier die Dialoge oft, wie eine kleine Dosis Schlaftabletten mit viel GÄHN-Effekt. Irgendwann nach 7-8 Stunden habe ich mich gefragt, wann das Spiel endlich mal zu Ende ist. Leider kann man nichts überspringen, was ich ja auch irgendwo verstehe. Es gibt auch Quick-Time-Events, die aber total Harmlos sind und nicht Ansatzweise in der Masse oder der Schnelligkeit ala Fahrenheit sind.

Bis zur ersten Hälfte des Spiels durchlebt man auch eine Art Hypnose. Man kennt die Szene, muss sie sich nochmal anschauen und DANN nochmal Analysieren, in dem man in der Szene sich bewegen kann und Interaktionspunkte sucht. Auch diese Aktion empfand ich als einfaches Spielstrecken.

Ich weiß immer noch nicht, wie ich das Spiel bewerten soll. Im Grund ist es okay. Aber man ist ca. 90% der Zeit nur am zuhören. Den Rest kann man sich mal hier und da Bewegen, aber es gibt nichts separates zu Entdecken (Außer für 1-2 Erfolge) und mal bisschen hier und da klicken bzw. Tasten tippen. Auch denke ich, dass es hier kein anderes Ende gibt - ob man überhaupt was falsch bzw. anderes machen kann, in dem man einfach mal das Spiel andere Antworten nimmt, weiß ich nicht. Aber oft werden einem 3 oder 4 angezeigt, wovon einfach alle nach und nach abgefrühstückt werden. Wozu dann so eine Auswahl?

Deswegen habe ich mich für Negativ entschieden, aber ohne großes rum Gejammer wie "DaS SpiL Isst SchAiSSe". Das Spiel Fahrenheit hab ich damals auf PS2 oft gespielt und auch später das Remastered. Aber dieses hier rühre ich nie wieder an. Ich konnte keinem Charakter spüren oder etwas Nachvollziehen... Wer es dennoch kaufen/spielen möchte, kann dies gerne tun. Am Ende entscheidet jeder für sich.

Thema Errungenschaften - Das schreibe ich immer dazu, falls jemand darauf aus ist - hier steht nix mehr zum Spiel
Die 100% ist in einem Durchgang machbar bzw. man kann später einzelne Kapitel anwählen und verpasste Erfolge einfach Nachholen. Es gibt aber ein Erfolg, was ggf. mit früheren Entscheidungen zu tun hat. Ich habe nach einem englischen Guide gespielt und es war kein Problem. Nur weiß ich nicht, wenn man jetzt nicht danach spielt und sich für andere Antworten entscheidet, wie dass dann am Ende sein wird. Im Schlimmsten Fall würde sich der Erfolg halt von fast ganz am Anfang bis halt die letzte Szene hinziehen. Aber wer nach spielt, vor allem beim ersten mal, wird auf einige kleine Spoiler treffen - nicht ohne Grund, sind die Erfolge so "versteckt".

C’est vraiment nul d’avoir ralenti la dynamique du jeu juste pour rallonger artificiellement sa durée de vie. Ça se voit à des kilomètres : animations trop longues, dialogues pleins de blancs, chargements inutiles, plans qui ne servent à rien… Ça gâche complètement l’expérience.

L’histoire est bien écrite, ce sont vraiment des sujets qu’on n’a pas l’habitude de voir.
Les voix des personnages sont bien jouées C’est vraiment dommage que ce soit gâché par une bande-son répétitive, mal placée et souvent complètement hors-thème.

Ah oui, et vous n’avez pas vraiment de choix non plus : il n’y a qu’une seule ligne narrative. Du coup, je vous conseille plutôt de regarder une vidéo YouTube, puisque tout le monde vit exactement la même expérience. Un bon gros flop… vraiment déçu.

То, что в Pendulo Studios любят классический кинематограф - это было понятно еще со времен The Next BIG Thing, где буквально вся игра была посвящена этому. Ну фанатеют они по старому кино, хорошо. Я даже могу понять, почему была фокусировка именно на этом сегменте рынка, так как на эксперименты уровня Telltale попросту не было у испанцев денег. Но зачем нужно было брать именно Хичкока?! Зачем вы полезли к такой священной корове, которая не просто создавала культовые фильмы для своего времени, но и развивала сам язык кинематографа?

С графикой, устаревшей минимум лет на 15, где нет даже намека на актерскую игру за рамками тех рож и рожиц из зловещей кринж-долины обобщенных образов. С сюжетом, про который очень хочется рассказать со всеми спойлерами, но, если без этого никак – то это совсем не Хичкок. Это даже не Гас Ван Сент. Это, ♥♥♥♥♥, комикс для самых маленьких. Затянутый, трижды переваренный и провисающий на ровном месте в моментах, где игрок должен испытывать если не саспенс, то хотя бы его подобие. С решениями без последствий. С QTE времен Heavy Rain’a, если последний заканчивался бы на исследовании квартиры главного героя. С натужной драмой. С интригой, которую держат до последнего, и которая заканчивается так, что это полностью обрывает потуги на вышеупомянутый драматизм, превращая все в тухлый каламбур.

С нуарным котом Blacksad’ом я еще как-то сомневался, так как за плохой игрой скрывалась вполне себе неплохая калька с Уайлдера, Рэя и других мастеров мертвого жанра. Тут же все однозначно. Vertigo – это плохая игра, которая не стоит вашего времени. Не рекомендую к покупке, даже с большой скидкой. Пустая трата денег и времени.

Eigentlich nicht wirklich ein Adventure, sondern ein interaktiver Film. Es gibt kein Inventar und man muss auch keine Rätsel lösen. Man geht durch die Welt und hält damit die Handlung am laufen. Die Grafik ist mal sehr schön, mal sehr grottig, also sehr unterschiedlich. Die Geschichte ist nicht besonders spannend aber ganz solide. Ich würde dem Spiel 65% Wertung geben. Das gibt es hier bei Steam natürlich nicht, da gibt es nur rauf oder runter. Nachdem das Spiel zwar keine großen Stärken, aber auch nicht viel zu bemängeln hat, im Zweifel Daumen nach oben.

Umarım gününüz güzel geçiyordur, çünkü benimkisi pek de öyle gitmiyor. Sinir bozucu bir durumdayım: oyunum buglandı. Bölümün adını söylemeyeceğim, spoiler olmasın diye.

Neyse dedim, küçük bir sorundur, bölümü yeniden başlattım ama nafile — hâlâ bug’lıydı. Sonra bir kez daha yeniden başladım, etkileşime girebileceğim her yere baktım, hatta o bölümün videolarını izleyip birebir aynısını yaptım… ama hiçbir şey değişmedi. Her seferinde aynı bug!

Sonra araştırayım dedim, acaba sadece bende mi oluyor bu diye. Meğerse bu sorunu yaşayan çok kişi varmış, ama herkes farklı bölümlerde karşılaşıyormuş. Kimi son bölümde, kimi oyunun bitmesine bir saat kala. Üstelik kimse düzeltememiş! Sorun çıkanlar, mecburen videolardan izleyerek bitirmek zorunda kalmış.

Yani anlayacağınız, bu oyunu yapanlara söyleyecek çok şeyim var ama “küfür orucunda” olduğum için kendimi tutuyorum. 😅
Sonuç olarak oyunu bitiremedim ama yaklaşık 4 saat kadar oynadım.

Великолепная игры по сюжету одноименного фильма Хичкока. Отличный пример интерактивного кино с приятной рисовкой. Сюжет - психологический триллер, который действительно может создавать саспенс и используя простой инструментарий, сохранять напряжение и увлекать историей. Психологическая база у истории очень сильна. Показаны реальные вытеснения, как метод психологической защиты, расстройств личности, терапевтические зарисовки и все это не кажется надуманным и искусственным. А то, как показали главного антагониста - это просто браво! Хичкок не зря считается легендой. А Penduilo studios сумели адаптировать историю в игровой среде, ничего при этом не потеряв.

От игры остался в восторге. Очень рекомендую.

Обзор целый писать не буду. Но скажу коротко, это больше не игра, а фильм или сериал с небольшими элементами геймплея (а именно ходьба) и QTE моментами, которые ни на что не влияют. Ну и видимая вариативность диалогов, которая тоже ни на что не влияет. Игра строго линейная, ведет игрока за ручку до конца, что бы не было. Меняются только детали диалогов и реакции персонажей. В очень редком случае выбор влияет на что-то. Но... Я бы не сказал, что это плохо. Подобная система помогает больше погрузиться в персонажа и выбирать ответы те, которые тебе кажутся правильными. Поэтому с одной стороны плюс и минус.
Итак, это больше фильм с элементами геймплея. А что по сюжету? Сразу скажу. Он мне понравился. Это криминальный триллер, с элементами загадочности и неплохим таким твистом под конец. Сам сюжет в стиле криминальных триллеров 60-70. Было бы странно, если не иначе, потому что игра основа на одноименном фильме 1958 года.
В комментариях писали, что скучно. Не могу согласиться. Игра зацепила сразу же. Я не ждал от нее многого, но получил я достаточно. В первую очередь игры я люблю за сюжет и тут именно это я и получил. Отдельно хочу выделить воспоминания ГГ. Очень интересно видеть сначала одно, а потом те же события, но с другой точки зрения. Впечатления, словно я посмотрел добротненький такой сериал за пару вечеров и вайб старых фильмов тоже понравился.
Могу советовать, но не всем. А тем кто любит размеренный геймплей и сюжетку.

So don't think about this as an adventure but as an interactive movie which waits for you to press some buttons or find interactive points to continue with the story.
But still: It got a very nice story, very well written characters and beautiful looking levels plus a movie like soundtrack.
