Achilles: Legends Untold is an isometric action RPG that draws inspiration from soulslike and hack & slash genres. However, compared to them, the title by Polish studio Dark Point Games has a much lower level of entry. The creators wanted to make a game that would be more accessible to beginners, who are just starting their adventure with this type of gameplay. It doesn’t mean, however, that Achilles: Legends Untold is a title aimed only at newcomers, because it is filled with optional challenging missions, which will certainly also satisfy experienced players.

Take part in the journey of Achilles, who stands in the middle of the centuries-long conflict between Hades and Ares. The young hero is being sent to battle the War God’s child - Phobos. His journey will take him to many different corners of mythological lands where he will obtain powerful artifacts that will aid him in his quest. Achilles is not alone as Hephaistos - the god of blacksmiths - is always ready to craft new weapons in exchange for materials.

Achilles: Legends Untold is a game that, at first glance, presents a very interesting premise by attempting to combine elements of hack and slash, soulslike, and ARPG. However, in practice, it reveals a lack of clear identity that ultimately compromises its depth in the medium to long term. The combat is undoubtedly one of its strongest aspects early on: it feels light, responsive, and offers some satisfying combinations of abilities, delivering enjoyable moments during the first hours. That said, this feeling does not hold up over time, mainly because several mechanics are not properly rewarded. Parry is the clearest example: while visually appealing, it lacks real impact on gameplay, offering no meaningful advantage that justifies the risk or precision required, which ultimately renders the mechanic largely irrelevant as the game progresses.

The skill tree reinforces this sense of wasted potential. Although its constellation-based structure suggests complexity and multiple paths of progression, in reality many of these constellations do not offer new abilities, being limited instead to generic stat increases such as health, stamina, damage, or accuracy. This creates a false sense of progression and diversity, as players rarely make meaningful decisions that shape their playstyle. This issue is directly tied to the absence of clearly defined builds: even though there are four scalable attributes, all of them end up being equally necessary, naturally leading to a generalized progression. There is no real specialization, no trade-off, and therefore no build identity. The result is a system that simulates depth but functions in a linear and homogeneous way.

This limitation is also reflected in the weapon system. The game offers only a few categories—sword, axe, spear, and greatsword—and a very limited variation of movesets, which significantly reduces the incentive to experiment. In practice, the sword-and-shield combination stands out as the most efficient option, both in terms of damage and survivability, while other weapons, such as the greatsword, are largely neglected due to the lack of mechanics that would justify their use, such as hyperarmor, stronger stagger, or clear risk-reward advantages. The shield itself is oddly locked behind the skill tree, which not only feels conceptually strange but also does not translate into a particularly strong or transformative tool, functioning mostly as a basic way to manage groups of enemies.

Another major issue lies in the game’s progression balance. Early on, the player is encouraged to be cautious, frequently using potions and adopting a more tactical approach. However, this balance quickly breaks down. Around the mid-game, especially after acquiring better gear and amulets, the character becomes excessively powerful, drastically reducing the overall challenge. This directly impacts player motivation, leading to less exploration and a stronger focus on rushing the main quest—not as a strategic choice, but due to the loss of tension and engagement.

The game world, while visually appealing, suffers from repetition. The low variety of enemies and the reuse of dungeon layouts make exploration feel unrewarding after the initial areas. This structural repetition undermines the sense of discovery, which is a key pillar in games of this genre. Bosses, which should serve as highlights of the experience, also fail to stand out. Their mechanics are simple, they do not require meaningful pattern learning, and often feel like regular enemies with larger health pools, missing the opportunity to deliver more memorable or cinematic encounters.

Additionally, the game includes several secondary mechanics that feel poorly integrated into the overall experience. Some systems appear inspired by other titles but are implemented in a superficial way, making them easily ignorable. Instead of enriching gameplay, these mechanics end up feeling like unnecessary additions, reinforcing the impression that the game accumulates ideas without fully developing them.

The narrative follows a similar trajectory, starting in a more grounded way and gradually escalating into something grander, but without the proper buildup to support this transition. As a result, the story loses impact over time and culminates in an unremarkable conclusion, with a final boss that fails to deliver the expected weight or significance.

Even so, despite all these criticisms, the game still has its value. It is accessible, visually competent, and capable of providing genuinely enjoyable moments, especially considering its low price. It works well as a short-term experience but reveals its limitations as the player progresses further. In summary, it is a decent game with good ideas and average execution—one that could have reached a much higher level if it had a clearer identity and more refined systems.

El juego es interesante buenas mecanicas , historia normalita. Tipo titan quest pero mejor porque no es tan ortopedico y repetitivo.

El auto apuntado me hizo matar mas de 100 veces es horrible , cambiar de objetivo. y lo malo fue el nueva partida + no es interesante es lo mismo no aplica nuevos enemigos o otro tipo de reto ademas lo que esta roto son las lanzas nomas no hay un arma como hacha o espada rota o tratar de cambiar de modalidad.

Dejo mucho que desean lo rejugable pero para pasarte el juego esta bien no invento la rueda ni nada pero me gusto lo recomendaria si te gusta el Rol/RPG.

Honestly for all the ♥♥♥♥ this game get, it's actually not bad.

The bad parts are voice acting, it's so bad that you're better off turning it off completely. But rest of the game is fine, combat feels good albeit you keep wishing for more enemies, closing rifts is fun and all the different weapons are viable.

Game is not perfect of course and not really a COOP but for few bucks it costs it is well worth it!

Achilles Legends Untold wo fange ich bei diesem Spiel nur an?
Eine wunderschöne Reise in eine wundervolle Welt und guten Kämpfen die Spaß machen und interessant sind. Ich sah den Skilltree und dachte mir nur HOLY MAKKARONI wird das geil. Geil....ja dieses Gefühl hatte ich für ungefähr 3 Stunden in diesem tollen Spiel. Bis ich dann meine Sonnenbrille abnahm und die Realität erkannte. Ich spielte das Spiel und sah 15 Stunden lang die gleichen Gegner mit den gleichen Mechaniken. Kam ein neuer Boss dazu dachtest du dir wow was ein geiler Scheiß! Aber 20 Minuten später kamen dann zwei von denen....dann drei....dann gefühlt unendlich! Ab und zu hatte ich noch Hoffnung doch diese zerbrach mehr und mehr und mehr. Alles war langweilig....alles war traurig....alles wurde 200 mal wiederverwendet....die Story hat mich so sehr gepackt wie ein stück Toast das umfällt und die Nebenquests waren auch eher langweilig. Doch der Bruch ja der ließ noch auf sich warten. Mir war egal wie schlecht ich das Spiel fand. Ich wollte unbedingt alle Achievements erspielen...dies habe ich nach kürzester Zeit natürlich nicht bereut!
Der genuß von 10000% DMG in deine Fresse (One hits) und 200000 Gegner gleichzeitig die dich von allen Seiten verprügeln hat mir die Sonne aus dem Ellebogen scheinen lassen und hat mich so glücklich gemacht, dass ich ungefähr 50 mal crashout gegangen bin und das Spiel ALT + F4 habe.
Ich habe mich aber so in dieses wundervolle und spannende, einfach packende Meisterwerk verliebt, dass ich nicht aufhören konnte diesen Müll zu zocken.
Nachdem ich nach 27 Stunden Qual und Leid und ungefähr 15 Terminen bei meinem Psychiater das Spiel endlich auf 100% gespielt hatte.....wurde mir klar das ich wichtige Zeit meines lebens in einem so wundervollen Spiel einfach weggeschmissen hab und diese nie wieder zurück bekommen werde.

Macht weiter so ihr geilen Entwickler! NUR LIEBE!

Takie Diablo, ale bardziej Soulsowe w swojej źródłowej rozgrywce - nacisk większy na uniki i bloki.
Po osiągnięciu już któregoś poziomu jednak postać staje się mocno przekokszona i wyzwanie staje się zdecydowanie mniejsze, niż w pierwszej połowie gry.
Fabularnie raczej bez cudów i zaskoczeń, jest tam sobie jakaś w tle.

A very weird feeling ARPG, similar to titans quest but rough in all the wrong areas, terrible voice acting, boring quests and enemies, lastly the linear patching makes for a slog, I find myself asking where all the enemies are, than when they appear its this very repetitive and down right boring combat.

The upgrades and weapons are Meh, big time miss in my opinion from the devs, I would recommend just playing the new titan quest remake and pretending this doesn't exist.

Finished the game and wanted to leave some constructive feedback.

The game has a lot of potential. The art direction, UI design and combat foundation are really solid.

However, some systems feel underutilized:

• Farming resources becomes almost pointless since most upgrades are rarely necessary.

• Weapon variety changes the playstyle a bit, which is great, but could be more refined.

• Sidequests could be more memorable or impactful.

Despite these issues, the game has a very strong base. I would love to see a sequel or expansion building on these ideas. With some polishing, this could become a truly great action RPG.

O jogo tem muito potencial. A direção de arte, o design da interface e a base do sistema de combate são realmente sólidos.

No entanto, alguns sistemas parecem pouco aproveitados:

• Farmar recursos acaba se tornando quase inútil, já que a maioria dos upgrades raramente é necessária.

• A variedade de armas muda um pouco o estilo de jogo, o que é ótimo, mas poderia ser mais refinado.

• As sidequests poderiam ser mais memoráveis ou ter um impacto maior.

Apesar desses pontos, o jogo possui uma base muito forte e eu adoraria ver uma sequência ou expansão que desenvolvesse melhor essas ideias. Com alguns ajustes e mais polimento, isso poderia se tornar um action RPG realmente excelente.

Achilles: Legends Untold, to nic innego jak hack'n'slash, lecz ze szczyptą soulslike`a. Gra mocno porównywana jest do Titan Quest i nic dziwnego, gdyż oparta jest na mitologii greckiej. Wcielamy się w słynnego Achillesa, który dowodzi armią. W między czasie trwa konflikt między dwoma wielkimi bogami Aresem i Hadesem. Będąc świadomy iż może spowodować, to negatywne skutki nie tylko dla nich ale i dla ludzkości postanawia podjąć ryzykowny krok; zakończyć konflikt poprzez stanięcie do walki z synem Aresa - Fobosem.
Gra wyszła na wszystkie obecne platformy, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, X-Box i Pc. W grę można grać solo jak i w coop`ie. Grafika jest ok choć chwilami w niektórych miejscach bywa zbyt ciemno. Muzyka i dźwięki pozytywne, żywsza nuta podczas walki, a po niej się uspokaja. Wady i zalety:

Podsumowując, jak uwielbiasz gry hack`n`slash z liźnięciem soulslike oraz mitologię grecką, nieco lżejszego wyzwania niż np. Diablo czy Titan Quest choć nadal pragnąc czuć napięcie i obawy przed stratą uciułanego exp`a nie bojąc się stojących przed Tobą wyzwań, to produkcja jest dla Ciebie. Pozdrawiam.

[b]Achilles: Legends Untold[/b] es un juego de acción en tercera persona (con vista isométrica) para un jugador y con desafíos independientes para dos jugadores. Combate muy básico, lo que ayuda con la accesibilidad pero que, junto con la poca variedad de enemigos, hace que pierda fuelle en el último tercio. El diseño de los escenarios y la satisfactoria exploración ayudan a que mantenga el tipo. Un juego de acción para quien no quiera lidiar con sistemas complejos y quiera acabar con todo aquello que se interponga en su camino.

Helena ha sido raptada. Aquiles navega la costa griega para acabar con los troyanos y rescatarla, aunque termina pereciendo en combate contra Paris. Pero la muerte no es el final. Diez años han pasado desde entonces, Aquiles ha vuelto, las circunstancias han cambiado y secretos e injusticias del pasado empiezan a salir a la luz.

Viene con voces en inglés y textos en español. Eso sí, la interpretación de los actores deja algo que desear y el protagonista se corta así mismo en muchas de sus líneas si te estás moviendo mientras habla.

Aunque narra ciertos elementos de la Guerra de Troya a finales de la Edad del Bronce y la Ilíada, como la presencia del héroe Aquiles o su muerte a manos de Paris, el juego genera su propia trama a partir de ahí, mezclando dioses, criaturas mitológicas y otros conocidos personajes griegos y troyanos. La mayor parte del tiempo la trama queda relegada a un segundo plano y cuando avanza no va más allá de un mero entretenimiento debido a un guion un poco flojo.

De primeras da la impresión de ser un juego tipo Diablo, con vista isométrica y zonas amplias con bastante por explorar, pero no lo es tanto. El combate es más pausado y deliberado, con más peso en las acciones y una barra de aguante que dictamina nuestras acciones. Tiene más parecido con un [i]Souls[/i] en ese aspecto, teniendo que volver al sitio donde morimos para recuperar nuestra esencia o que los enemigos reaparezcan tras descansar en los puntos de viaje rápido, donde también mejoramos al personaje, llamados en este caso Santuarios de Hades. Pero sin la dificultad o precisión que suelen tener aquellos, sobre todo porque contamos con un esquive bastante generoso.

Podremos equipar a nuestro protagonista con tres tipos de arma a una mano: espada, hacha o lanza, o un espadón a dos manos. En la mano libre podemos llevar otra arma ligera o un escudo. Aunque cada una tenga sus animaciones y velocidad de ataque, el combate es simple en general, teniendo únicamente una combinación de cuatro ataques normales o dos fuertes antes de que el personaje haga una pausa que nos puede traer problemas. Atacar tras esquivar o a la carrera completan nuestras posibilidades cuerpo a cuerpo. Para complementarlo, contamos con algunas habilidades de armas (como una patada o lanzar el escudo), amuletos y consumibles (como dardos o bombas). Pese a la simpleza, es cierto que una vez encuentras un arma que te guste, resulta bastante adictivo pese a algún fallo en las colisiones y cierta falta de variedad en los enemigos.

Al acabar con enemigos iremos subiendo de nivel y consiguiendo un punto de habilidad con cada subida. Con los puntos de habilidad mejoraremos la vida, fuerza, aguante, suerte, precisión e ira (para usar habilidades de armas) de nuestro personaje, junto con algún extra ocasional como un contrataque con el escudo o recuperar vida al acabar con un enemigo. La mayoría de las armas escalan con nuestros atributos, por ello está bien que podamos reasignar los puntos de habilidad cuando queramos a cambio de unas monedas. Al avanzar un poco encontraremos un herrero donde mejorar las armas y armadura y, aunque encontraremos muchas armas en nuestro viaje, no hay armaduras nuevas, sólo cambios de aspecto.

Como contenido adicional tenemos bastante por explorar y algunas misiones secundarias un tanto genéricas. Hay fisuras que cerrar, un escenario limitado donde deberemos sobrevivir a tres o cuatro oleadas que pueden ser un tanto complicadas. Cofres que abrir, para algunos de los cuales necesitaremos romper tres runas ocultas en las inmediaciones. Ofrendas que presentar para despedir a los muertos. Y al luchar contra jefes tendremos la posibilidad de rematarlos o perdonarlos, una mecánica que afecta a la recompensa que recibes. Existe también un modo aparte cooperativo. Son desafíos para dos jugadores cuyo número iremos aumentando al avanzar en la historia principal. Ni el modo de juego ni las recompensas resultan muy interesantes.

El juego cuenta con cuatro dificultades: Historia, Aventura, Desafío y Aquiles Debe Morir. Podremos cambiar la dificultad cuando queremos pero sólo desde el menú principal. Eso sí, el control con teclado y ratón no es tan cómodo como podría ser. El juego te obliga a utilizar las teclas WASD para moverte y con una cámara isométrica fija sobre la que no tenemos control alguno, deja un poco que desear y más comparado con un mando. El propio juego te recomienda utilizar uno al ejecutarlo.

He tenido algunos problemillas con el rendimiento, con notables bajones bastante frecuentes. Parece que deshabilitar los núcleos de eficiencia de la CPU (tengo un procesador híbrido y a veces eso da problemas) y la sincronización vertical solucionó la mayoría, pero aun así no iba del todo estable. No estoy seguro si es uno de esos cuya experiencia cambia mucho de un equipo a otro o no.

La campaña puede completarse en unas 8-10 horas. Conseguir todos los cofres, cerrar las fisuras y en general explorar cada localización a fondo puede aumentar el número de horas a 20 o así. Una vez terminado se desbloquean los Destinos de las Moiras, tres modificadores que podremos aplicar para complicar el juego (y que no me han parecido interesantes) y la opción de Nueva Partida + donde los enemigos subirán bastante de nivel pero sólo encontraremos mejores versiones de los amuletos, las armas y su límite máximo de mejora permanece inalterado.

Despite getting this on a decent sale I would not recommend playing this game. At first the game starts decently, you have a basic tutorial, start to dabble in combat and it looks fun. Unfortunately the tutorial and early stages of the story are where the game peaked. After that you start a downhill journey. Here is a list of problems I encountered while playing:

-you can't have enemies near you/aggroed if you want to interact with objects. This wouldn't be a problem if the leash range of enemies wouldn't be overly large. Enemies will chase you 2-3 screens away and disable your ability to interact with items and the environment.

-the number of enemies is too high. This increases your risk of getting stun locked to death. Because of that combat devolves into a dodge and spamm light attack fest. This is especially noticeable in the late game. I had the feeling that stamina regeneration was lacking. In reality this was probably caused by a large number of strong enemies.

-the skill tree is too large. Both figuratively and literally. The large size makes it awkward to navigate and most of the passive skills block your access to the active abilities, which in turn makes combat feel repetitive. Attribute growth should have been separate, ie. a simple 5 attribute points per level (or whatever's balanced) would be enough. After that the vacant space could be filled with interesting active skills modifiers. Something simple like your shield bounces 1 more time, gets elemental damage etc.

-speaking of skills, most of them are not really worth the investment. The reason being almost no invulnerability frames and a weak risk-reward ratio.

-enemy variations aren't the best. Mostly skeletons and humans. Stronger enemies are just reskins. More mythical enemies are usually bosses.

-the camera can get wonky at times

-I would advice to turn off automatic lock on. It can cause more harm than good.

-voice acting is not the best and the VA for Achilles is IMO kinda out of place

- you get stuck a decent amount of times. Thankfully you get a "unstuck" option in the menu. it's nice to have but at the same time it shouldn't be necessary

- the game overstays it's welcome. Especially at later stages it throws at you pointless main quests and battles that serve only to artificially lengthen the playtime.

Overall I can't say that it's a bad or unplayable game. It's just nothing special with some annoying elements and I would advice not playing it unless you can get it on a decent sale and want to waste some time.

За фулл прайс - говно, за копейки - терпимый геморрой. Играю на asus rog, так что не сравниваю с результатами на ПК.
Графен - сьедобный, вид сверху, так что чего ждать звезд с неба.
Сюжет - какой-то есть, через диалоги, следить за ним не обязательно.
Геймплей - соулс-лайк, с приятным и медленным боем, где чувствуются удары и перекаты.
Минусы: 3 врага могут заблокать все пути отхода и затыкать; при первом ударе ставится лок цели и переключить его - проблема большая, чем взломать пентагон, тут игра не особо слушается, по этому я бегу бить лучников с забаганым локом на чувака из другого конца карты, чтобы меня отхреначили все.

刚打完二周目全成就，想了下还是给这个游戏好评吧，毕竟就十几块买的。我开始就玩的挑战难度（第二难的难度），一周目我是全收集，体验下来也就前期不那么简单，中后期就直接开始割草了，非常的爽。二周目追求全成就的时候玩着就有些不耐烦了直接速通主线了，还有个重要原因是二周目怪的数值已经开始有些逆天了到后期有一两招秒人的怪和boos了，我也只推荐打完二周目昨晚全成就就不要玩了，再玩下去就是折磨了，当然挑战自己玩不腻的玩家除外。对全成就有问题的玩家可以看着游戏社区中心有个标题叫“指南”的帖子，对于如何达成全成就非常详细，唯一的缺点就是英文需要你自己翻译一下。

Жаль, что нет какой-то промежуточной оценки между пальцем вверх и вниз. Я не могу данную игру точно рекомендовать, особенно за ту цену, по которой она продается (исключение, если есть скидка). Но и сказать, что игра неудовлетворительная тоже нельзя.

Как по мне, игра очень напоминает недавно появившуюся POE 2. Но для меня POE 2 это нереально душнейшее дерьмо, которое позорит первую часть. Про Achilles: Legends Untold такое сказать нельзя. Игра не душная, легко и быстро проходится (рекомендую проходить на самой высокой сложности. Я проходил на предпоследней - было слишком уж легко). Сюжет более менее, на любителя (просто мифология древней Греции, ничего необычного). Графика нормальная, локации красивые. Из таких плюсов у игры выделить особо больше нечего. Главное то, что она играется легко - без напряга.

Но она однообразная - мир по сути пустой, а те активности что есть - редкие и похожи друг на друга. Если будете играть, то стараться пробегать весь мир смысла нет (если только не нужны все ачивки), потому что ничего такого полезного вы не найдете - ни оружия, ни брони. Все что нужно для прохождения вы найдете просто бегая по проложенному сюжетному маршруту.

Так что рекомендую покупать только по скидке, потому что почти 2к разрабам жирно слишком.

Противоречивая игра (играю на предпоследней сложности).
С одной стороны вроде бы всё неплохо. С другой - СЛИШКОМ похожа на TQ (и не надо тут про идентичный сеттинг, похожа до степени смешения, если издалека за процессом смотреть на это и на TQ с аналогичным приближением, то фиг отличите). Ну и солслайк достаточно неудачно прикрученный, раздражает пока не попривыкнешь.
Играется медленно (ну, скорее неторопливо) и не ритмично, что портит собственно всю арпгшность. Лута как такового нет; дпсметра нет и понять, какое из двух оружий будет выгодней по цыферкам практически нереально - вот что лучше: два отравленных топора, двуруч с божественной силой или копьё с поджигом, как определить?
Нет индикаторов мобов и они регулярно сливаются с пейзажем, ну уберите тогда ВООБЩЕ все маркеры, что ли, определились бы уже. Закрытые непонятно почему проходы - "я не могу здесь пока пройти", а почему собственно? Почему сундук в самой первой локации после пролога нельзя "пока" открыть? Потому что идите на, вот почему?
Билдостроения к десятому часу игры и уровню 30+ пока не просматривается никакого.
Мобы походу скейлятся под уровень персонажа, но чуть медленее, чем он растёт, нууу пусть так (чем где-то типа в последнем торче, что ли, где с ростом уровня пропорционально росла жЫрность мобов и ковырять их было одинаково долго и увлекательно что первым, что десятым уровнем).
Сюжет какой-то даже есть, но следить за ним не интересно, раскрывается за эти десять часов он практически никак, на процесс не влияет от слова совсем (но впрочем не в сюжет в подобных играх и играют).
Графоний более-менее завезли и даже вроде бы оптимизацию, но в некоторых локациях внезапно 5070ti начинает выть на полных оборотах при загрузке под 100%
В общем на данный момент оценка негативная, попробую осилить дальше и может раскроется пободрее-поинтереснее, но пока так.

"Achilles: The Ghost of Troy", is a more appropriate title.

The game reminds me a lot of the earlier God of War series, mixed with some elements from Diablo and maybe a couple small elements from souls games... I guess. I don't know. I would not really call this a souls like. If that is what you are looking for, you can make it really hard if you want to, so don't worry. You will have to deal with this game having a fun, tangible plot though, which most souls-likes do not. (Sick burn)

This is a "What if Achilles had another book right after the Oddyssey" type of story and I am so here for it. No one is saying it is canon, but it is a good ole action-adventure story driven game. I'm having fun with it, and combat is pretty fun!

Too much stupid things.

1. You hit an enemies and he does not care, like no physical impact, just damage. CHARGED HEAVY ATTACK FFS !!!

2. Environment. Like in 2000 games, a simple 30 cm step blocks the character... Yeah of course... 2 meters jump ? Naaaaa I am just a Greek mythological soldier, I cannot jump from 2 meters I prefere to die receiving sword hits.

3. Pace... OMFG... This is slow... Diablo 2 has faster pace than this game... Looks like Diablo 1 gameplay... Every action has a sleep time, no action can be chained except if it is intended (like run + hit). "hit and run" ? Nope, cannot do that. You kick a guy, he falls on the ground guess what, he will recover faster than you to hit him while on the floor... Yeah, very realistic moves...

6. Status effect... Like in Elden Ring : totally useless. 10 hits to activate bleeding or poison and does almost no damage... Fire, why not... Still ♥♥♥♥ compared to the same fire when applied to you...

7. Some weapons are bugged, and not fixed after 2 years... You have a normal version, no att bonus at all, you get a status version, it has all bonus activated (str, etc.)... I see they clearly tested their game...

So... Okay price is nothing. Still from pure game PoV it is ♥♥♥♥...

I love soulslikes, and I love Ancient Greek History and Mythology so Achilles: Legends Untold should have been a slam-dunk for me. Instead I came away thoroughly unimpressed by its barebones combat design and repetitive enemy encounters which made slicing and dicing my way through Mycenae a real slog.

There’s some good stuff here. Work has gone into some of the environments and it shows, from towering titanesque statues to sun-drenched sunflower fields and richly-decorated palaces, although these unique assets are unfortunately dwarfed by the traditional swamps, temples, and cellars that are used over and over again until I dreaded the sight of another identical ladder leading down into the darkness.

A couple of the boss fights are fun, too, forcing you to square off with a Minotaur or Chimera. The other bosses are copy-and-paste human enemies with closed helms and similar move sets to the grunts you fight during the game, and don’t offer much of a challenge.

Levelling and customisation is sparse and uninspired. There are only three weapon types : one-handed, two-handed, and spears. You pick up different armour, but the changes are cosmetic only. Oh, and you find the occasional amulet that offer incremental increases in health, strength, or resistance.

You gain skill points from killing enemies that you can spend to level up strength, vitality, endurance, luck, or fury, and while I initially found the constellation style presentation pretty cool, I soon found it frustrating to navigate and difficult to see just exactly what I had unlocked.

Finally, there are skills that are unlocked by either finding them in chests or by choosing to “spare” a boss rather than kill him. Most of these skills are immensely powerful which makes it a bit strange that if you choose to kill all the bosses you come across, you’ll miss out on half the skills entirely, being rewarded with a weapon and armour skin instead. I’m not sure it’s a great design choice to lock players out of what’s probably the most interesting addition to the combat mechanics.

Now, I have to talk about difficulty. I gravitated towards my traditional strength build, putting most of my points into strength and upgrading my greatsword. After about an hour into the game, this made me completely unstoppable. I just couldn’t die, and most enemies fell to my whirling blade in a couple of hits. I increased the difficulty, but I was still ploughing through foes like a charging bull, only occasionally running into trouble when seven or eight enemies attacked me at once and stun-locked me for a couple of seconds. This changed when I picked up an absurdly overpowered air slam that killed or severely damaged everything around me whenever I used it.

After ten hours, I decided to just make a bee-line for my current objective, following the helpful white line on the minimap that would take me where I needed to go and running past most of the enemies. I reached the end of the game rather quickly after that, and sighed in frustration when I found out I had to beat three arenas before facing the final boss, who disappeared half-way through our fight to set up another drawn out arena fight before I could finally take him down for good.

I came away from Achilles: Legends Untold not exactly sure who this game is for. It’s too easy and not technical enough to appeal to soulslike fans, and too boring and repetitive to appeal to the action-RPG crowd. I suppose if you are a massive fan of Ancient Greece you could give this one a try, but I would recommend picking up the excellent Titan Quest instead.

視点を味方につけた設計
「死角が多くて不便」という声もあるけど、実際はそんなことありません。この視点だからこその面白さになるよう細部まで計算されているので、むしろその設計の妙を楽しめます。

例えるなら「アイスのパルム」
作るのに手間のかかるプレイフィールドをみっちり作ってある、価値のある作品です。
レトロな良さを残しつつ、不快感を削ぎ落とした上品な仕上がり。雑な爽快感じゃなく、滑らかで贅沢な、いい時間を過ごせます。

I didn't hate the game, it just didn't have much to offer. There's a lack of enemy types, you mostly just fight skeletons and humans; I was really hoping for more mythical beasts, but those are saved for tame boss battles.

The game has soulslike mechanics, but the game isn't very difficult, even on the challenging difficulty. I only ran into an issue in one of the early portal fights, but after persevering, I ended up leveling enough to where the rest of the game felt like a breeze, and that was only after 30 mins of failure.

Combat is also very vanilla. There's no incentive to upgrade weapons since you find new ones enough to swap out every so often. There's also only one armor set to upgrade, but by the end, I still had to grind a tiny bit to upgrade to max which felt weird because I didn't even upgrade any weapons until the final boss fight.

The performance is also pretty bad. I'm playing on a 5090/9800x3d setup and there was still a ton of stutters, which just shouldn't happen in this type of game. The devs also knew that there was an unfixed bug where the character would become stuck because they added a feature in the main menu to become unstuck.

The game is fine enough to waste some time on, but it was just lacking too much to fully enjoy. Only get this if you find it on a sale.

A história é pífia e em alguns momentos sem sentido lógico, não vale a pena perder tempo com ela. A "graça" do jogo está no combate peculiar e interessante. Só que depois do meio do jogo vc já desbloqueou tudo que poderia em termos de golpes e o jogo passa a ficar muito fácil e repetitivo. Estenderam demais a história, mapas....Terminei na raça, pq a vontade eu perdi no meio. rs

A enorme árvore de habilidades, na verdade tem mais pontos de atributos do que qq outra coisa. Habilidade mesmo deve tewr umas 6 ou 7.

O sistema de lançar o escudo é legal. Mas péssimamente mal feito, pois mirar é um parto. Para quebrar alguns selos é terrível e eu acabei desistindo de abrir todos os baús por isso.

As armas variam pouco a gameplay. E me intrigou o fato de, apesar das armas, o personagem abri os baús com um soco. kkkk.

OBS1- ao final de cada batalha com chefe vc pode escolher entre mata-lo ou não. Mas isso não altera nada a história, apenas desbloqueia ou não uma conquista específica.
OBS2- de soulslike só tem os altares. rs

This is one of those "it has a lot of potential!" games that never quite hits it.
Upgrading weapons felt like a chore due to lack of materials and costs(weapons drop faster than upgrade materials) so I stuck with 2ish weapons and did things the hard way when enemies were resistant to the damage. Money was also a harder thing to come by to actually upgrade stuff. Considering you also need to upgrade armor? Forget it.
There were multiple skills in the game and talent points and playstyles, but the skill tree was a total mess. Instead of putting points into skills you bought them at the skill tree... I'm not sure why this was a thing. At first you see the skill tree and think "Wow! So many skills!" but once you realize only 20 of those bubbles are things that slightly affect gameplay? It's less impressive and more tedious. Getting 1 skill point every level, and 1 ability point every 2-3 levels would be a better use of time. So you can keep a build more in your control.
All those skill tree options and still the BEST thing you can do in game is doing a lunge attack. It does high damage and leaves the enemy staggered. So just upping strength and doing that is the fastest victory skill points can buy. This also made combat kind of trivial and didn't keep my interest.
So I've played games like grim dawn with many skill buttons you can use, this game had 4? Considering the amount of skills you could find, that felt like a weird choice. There's also skills you NEEDED in certain areas that were useless otherwise. So I would have to go around switching them in my menu very often, and sometimes would forget to switch back and ended up not being able to enhance my lunge attacks with spells(the only useful spell).
It very much seemed like the studio didn't prototype/whitebox the game and made sure it was fully functional and made sense before hardcoding the rest of the aspects to it. It feels like they had this whole thing worked in, and then couldn't go back to improve on it because they already spent a lot of time building art assets and what not around it.
Everybody had these weird accents that weren't that greek, and sounded very slavic in origin(I am southern european and have heard my fair share of both). The main hero didn't BECOME great, he already was and knew it. That aspect was really... meh? Everyone likes working hard towards an end goal, and having a hero that overcomes impossible odds feels rewarding, but when you have a legendary hero at the start it strips you from that voyage to greatness. If the hero was someone in Achilles' order and watched Achilles die and wanted to avenge him but was too weak? That makes sense!
This game might be fun for someone who's never played other ARPGs or doesn't mind the grind/single weapon use/single move use. I really wanted to like this game, it's been in my wishlist for a while as I waited for bugfixed and improvements. But almost 9 hours into the main story and the second my wife bought me another ARPG I left this one without a single regret, unfortunately.
I am leaving a thumb up because I believe this studio can do a lot better and don't want to crap on a project that really does have a lot of love put into it. My negative points in the review are all things I wish were improved so I could love this game and recommend it fully to fans of ARPGs.

Achilles: Legends Untold prova a unire l’action RPG isometrico con il ritmo dei soulslike. Sulla carta è un’idea interessante: combattimenti basati su stamina, schivate precise, nemici aggressivi e una progressione costruita su abilità e armi mitologiche. Nei primi minuti funziona, perché il sistema di parry e contrattacco dà un buon peso ai colpi e costringe a non giocare in modo automatico.

Il limite emerge quando inizi a vedere la struttura completa. Il combattimento è solido ma poco profondo, varia più nei numeri che nelle situazioni. I nemici cambiano aspetto, raramente comportamento. Dopo qualche ora impari il ritmo e il gioco smette di sorprenderti. Non diventa facile, diventa ripetitivo.

L’ambientazione greca ha fascino, ma la direzione artistica non è abbastanza forte da renderla memorabile. Villaggi, templi e paludi sono puliti e leggibili, però mancano momenti davvero iconici. Anche la narrativa resta sullo sfondo: Achille è più un pretesto che un personaggio, e il mito non viene mai davvero reinterpretato.

Tecnicamente è discreto ma grezzo in alcuni dettagli: animazioni rigide, collisioni a volte imprecise, sensazione generale da produzione indipendente ambiziosa ma non rifinita fino in fondo.

Rimane comunque giocabile perché il combat loop funziona. Non entusiasma, ma tiene. È il tipico titolo che si lascia finire senza mai diventare memorabile.

Achilles: Legends Untold to gra, która na pierwszy rzut oka wygląda jak „o, to będzie sztos!”, a potem człowiek gra, gra… i myśli: „no fajne, ale mogło być lepiej”.
Ale spokojnie – to nadal solidna gierka, tylko z kilkoma „ale”.

🎮 Gameplay – fajnie, ale bez fajerwerków
Gra jest przyjemna, walka daje radę, a pomysł z kamerą z góry to ciekawy twist.
Trochę jak Van Helsing, tylko że zamiast wampirów masz mityczne stwory i greckie klimaty.
I to działa! 😄⚔️

🗡️ Broń – topory rządzą, reszta… no jest
Broni jest sporo: miecze, włócznie, topory.
Teoretycznie Achilles powinien biegać z włócznią, ale powiem szczerze – topory robią robotę 🪓🔥
Szybkie, mocne, przyjemne w użyciu.
Każda broń ma inny styl walki, co jest plusem, ale ogólnie większość ciosów to takie „kopiuj–wklej”.

🛠️ Ulepszenia – proste jak budowa cepa
Chcesz ulepszyć broń?
Idziesz do kowala, cyk cyk i gotowe.
Zero filozofii, zero kombinowania – i dobrze, bo nie każdy lubi spędzać pół dnia w menu 😄

🌟 Umiejętności – fajne, ale… za dużo
Drzewko umiejętności wygląda jakby twórcy chcieli zrobić grę na 200 godzin.
Problem w tym, że gra trwa znacznie krócej.
Efekt?
Masz umiejętności, których nawet nie zdążysz użyć 🤷‍♂️✨

🎨 Grafika i lokacje – ładnie, ale powtarzalnie
Grafika jest naprawdę spoko – klimatyczna, przyjemna dla oka.
Ale lokacje… no cóż.
Piwniczki wyglądają tak samo.
Jaskinie wyglądają tak samo.
Lochy wyglądają tak samo.
Jakby ktoś zrobił jedno pomieszczenie i wkleił je 50 razy 😅🏚️
Ale klimat ratuje sytuację.

Żeby wszystko zobaczyć, trzeba trochę pograć, ale to nie jest gigantyczna produkcja.

el camino que te obligan a seguir es una lacra que no sientes ser más que un p3nd3j0 raton en laberinto. y pasar de punto a punto ala dios noooo se me morian las neuronas viendo como el p3nd3j0 mataba 2 a 3 enemigos entre cada tramo, rompia vasijas como los juegos de antaño y al final te venian con un boss que la verdad para qué seguir jugando te viene a la cabeza.
lo peor es que el mapa parece como si pudieras explorarlo, PEDOS!! nada puedes explorar o vas por el caminito como GlL o te chocas con paredes invisibles y piedras que te impiden el paso. lo unico que se les ocurrió para hacer pensar que esto de algun modo podía parecer que eres capaz de explorar el terreno es haciendo entradas que no te llevan a ningun lugar más que a concentraciones de vasijas. por lo demás explorar, te exploras más el p0t0 limpiandotelo que jugando este juego estructurado y tan limitado que choca tanto todas las veces que te golpeas con cosas que no puedes cruzar.

Oyun farklı bakış açısı ile souls like bir deneyim sunuyor. İndirimdeyken alınıp kesinlikle deneyim edilmelidir.

Tekrarlayan bir yapısı var. Ne zaman bitecek acaba dediğim anlar sık oldu. Yapay zeka Allaha emanet zaten. Ama dediğim gibi farklı bir deneyim arayanlara 11 saatte oyunu bitirdim. Al ara sıra gir eğlen modeli bir oyun. Dövüş combatları başarılı. Farklılık olması açısından önerebileceğim bir oyun oldu.

4. Кто-то хейтит эту игру, сравнивая с Titan Quest 2, но я считаю это глупостью, особенно оценивая масштабы и финансирование THQ Nordic и различные частные студии. По сути это обе хорошие игры, играются на одном дыхании, разные сюжеты, и разное исполнение, но любителям мифологии Древней Греции - точно понравится.
