I quite enjoyed this game and didn't find myself running into any of the glitches described in other reviews, my main issues with this game lie with the menu system and the audio. The menu issues for me were with puzzles where the buttons were close together and I had to keep retyping the code. My issue with the audio is that the audio gets really loud if you get to the source of it and really quiet if you're too far.
Works with the HP Reverb G2.

Meh, it’s ok but quite short and relatively easy to complete. There are some buggy bits that make completing tasks harder and a super annoying robot that needs to shut up.
Overall it’s ok, nothing special. Worth the low price though for 2 hours of mild entertainment.
A significant upgrade from Abode 1. Your drone is chatty and fun to have around, the story is more developed, and the interface works beautifully on a Reverb G2. Well worth the money and the time. Wish we had more from Overflow!
Altough I am terrible at puzzle games, I still very much enjoyed my experience with this. The game is very pretty... I bought the game on a sale, so I am happy with my purchase. The thing is... perhaps other people won't consider it worth 13 bucks.
The first Abode was really polished but really too short to enjoy.
This one starts really well, the setting and everything put you in the mood.
And then I spent the 2h to finish the game cursing against game-breaking bug (I had to restart the game 5 times in 2h).
Took on me to finish the game. Bugs ruined it.
Interesting short puzzle room. Some slight glitches with physics like objects bouncing through each other or myself moving through objects like the table or that one time I fell through the stairs when trying to walk up them.
The butler I should have made more use of like to carry all items as I like to put objects somewhere specific and go look for them later the butler already moved them to the table.
A good follow-up to the first game. The drone was useful, and the puzzles are fairly creative. However, riddled with small bugs. Flew out of the level once, and could not finish the game as intended due to a bug with the computer. Would still recommend if you like escape rooms!
Ok ignore those people blasting this game. Yes if you are looking for a AAA game, this isn't it. If you are looking for a fun escape the room game in VR, this is for you. I had a ton of fun playing this game. The puzzles are not SUPER hard but they are fun and make sense. It is not an expensive game and worth the time. Looking forward to more puzzle games from this developer!
I just finished this and after seeing the recent negative reviews I felt I should comment:
I enjoyed this and didn't experience any bugs of note. I enjoyed Abode 1 as well, but I found this one cleaner from a User Interface perspective and generally felt the devs had improved upon things the second time around (as one would hope or expect). Clearly some people disagree, so you mileage may vary, as the saying goes.
One technical note: I played on an OG Vive with original wands (lordy, I want to upgrade my VR setup soon, but that's a whole other story!). Perhaps those who experienced this using different VR headset/controllers may have a different experience.
I only got a little stuck at the end because (without spoilers) I didn't realize that one of the objects I was moving up and down could be turned in different directions. Once I got that, I completed the remaining bit with ease.
And now that I mention it, there was one bug at the end that was annoying but I was able to push through it. Otherwise, there were no bugs that I feel were at all game-breaking.
So is this game short and a little dated? Sure, but overall it was a fun puzzler for me and worth the time.
Does it compare well with, say, Myst VR or The Room VR. I don't know as I'm waiting to play those two after I upgrade my VR system lol. (recurring theme)
I will say that I do hope the developers keep at it!

Absolutely awesome game. It expanded on abode one in every possible way. my only issue with it, is that it's pretty short, but I also think that it's just the right length for an escape room.
A great escape room style puzzle game with a fantastic atmosphere. I may have gotten stuck on the lasers for a little longer I would have liked but over all it was a good experience. Easily worth the money.

I got this game on sale for $7.49 USD and I was pretty pleased with my experience. There was an instance where my save game broke and I had to restart, but my hardware was experiencing some technical issues so I do not fault the game for that. For the price I paid, I got nearly 2 hours of entertainment (of the sort which was exactly what I paid for) which I'm happy with. I'm not sure I would've bought this game for it's market price (currently $15.99) as I'm more into the more intense VR games.
That being said, this was nice. The atmosphere was charming, cohesive to the task at hand: investigate the apartment and find a way to restore power to the elevator, and the city. The puzzles themselves were tricky, there were many "Aha!" moments to be had. The difficulty mostly lies in locating puzzle pieces, then identifying which puzzle they went to. One of the puzzles I didn't understand why it was in the game. [spoiler]You simply have to find all 8 planets scattered through the room and put them in the correct order on hologram of our solar system, so if you're like me and don't know the order of all of the planets offhand, you'll be forced to take off your headset and look it up.[/spoiler] I feel this didn't really have any place in this game atmospherically, thematically or mechanically. That didn't color the whole experience for me however, so I would still recommend this game to anyone who has a VR headset. It's a quality escape room, and if it isn't usually your cup of tea, wait for a sale.
Not going to write up one of my usual "Good, Bad, and Ugly" reviews for this one as the Good (decent graphics and aesthetic, more fleshed out than Abode 1) is completely overshadowed by the Bad and Ugly. Namely, bugs. So many bugs, to the point where this game, as of 2021, is not reliably completeable.
[b]Showstopper Bug #1 -- QR Codes --[/b] There's a known, very common bug where one of the QR codes you need to find and scan will reject your attempts to scan it with the message "Already Scanned," even when that's not true. This locks you out from getting the last digit to the safe keycode (you can't brute-force the last digit, all numbers will fail unless you have all 4 QR codes scanned). Without opening the safe, you can't get a critical quest object and complete the game. Tried clipping through the safe to grab said critical quest item, but none of the usual tricks work. Loading your save also doesn't work to jog it, and that leads to...
[b]Showstopper Bug #2 -- Saving --[/b] You can save, but you can't load. Or rather, you *can*, but it's not going to help you. Loading a save results in the game objects and state being more or less scrambled from how you left them, usually rendering the game unwinnable. So Abode 2 *must* be completed in one sitting, if you're going to try it.
[b]Nerd Stuff:[/b]
Played (more accurately, tried to play) on Valve Index + Knuckles at 120hz on Win10 Pro/Intel 10900K/NVidia RTX3090, with all overclocking/RGB control/monitoring processes killed. Performance was inconsistent despite throwing an absurd amount of hardware power at it -- some loads of the game would run ok, others would struggle to reliably hold 120fps. This is apparently another known bug, according to threads on the forum.
[b]Bottom Line:[/b]
I can't recommend Abode 2 in its current state. It looks fairly nice, but looks aren't everything, especially if every time you launch the game it's a mystery whether or not the playthrough is cursed with the unscannable QR code bug, or whether it'll actually work the way its supposed to. If the showstopper bugs I described are ever fixed, I'll revisit this review, but until then, steer clear unless you feel like gambling on whether you'll need to refund, and go play "The Room VR" or "I Expect You To Die" instead.
Great game! I love those kind of puzzle games and highly recommend it. Only downside is (as with most of this kind of games) it's quite short. Took me a bit more than a Hour to complete. But would buy again :)

Actually this game looks nice and it would be nice, if the programmers had done a good job. The game is full of glitches and bugs i.e. some objects get missing and you can not find them again. Only solution, start from the very beginning, veeery annoying. Sorry, but due to the problems, I can not recommend this game.

Superb escape room. Few minor bugs can prevent it from being completed without restarting, but very well thought out. Runs easily on max settings on a 4800H 2060RTX (higher power 115w mobile processor version) streaming wireless to an Oculus Quest using Virtual Desktop.

Nicht nur stecken Gegenstände im Boden fest, sodass man gewisse Rätsel nicht lösen kann, man kann auch durch Tische durch laufen, Äpfel schweben über dem Teller, wenn man ein Objekt an seinen Kopf ran hält, kann man sich selbst wegschieben und so durch den Raum fliegen...
Es ist einfach nicht gut gemacht, fertig.
Die Vertonung ist ja nett, aber ein wenig komisch. Rätsel hat es sicher einige coole, aber was bringt es mir, wenn man einige Rätsel nicht lösen kann, weil das Spiel einfach buggy ist?

This is a fun couple of hours. Note, there are a couple of bugs to watch out for. When you get the headset, don't get it near walls and don't take it off when you get into a virtual space with it. It disappears there's no way to go forward from there. However, once you know the solutions to puzzles, you can quickly start over and get back to where you were. Considering the short play time, bugs, and lack of re-playablity, I'm not sure I would recommend it at the full price. I got it at 50% and after having fun playing another Overflow game, Star Shelter. Based on that experience I was pretty sure this would be fun, which it was. There's so much creativity coming from basically just 2 guys, can't wait to see their future endeavors!
A great VR escape room with tight interaction controls and physics. None of the puzzles stand out as totally revolutionary but all make sense, are executed with excellent quality and are enjoyable to solve. (Plus they do feel somewhat revolutionary if experiencing quality puzzles in VR for the first time).
I wold imagine this will take about 1 to 2 hours to complete for most people. A must-buy for room escape fans when on sale... and even purchasing at full price probably won't leave you disappointed either.

Thumbs up... but just barely. The Blade Runner fanatic in me loved the setting and the puzzles were mostly contextual to the environment, but it's all pretty simplistic. The only thing adding difficulty to the escape is the HORRIBLE grab controls... supremely frustrating.
I'm using Index knuckles, and kudos to the devs for making Abode 2 Index friendly (it recognizes individual finger movement), but it's next to impossible to grab anything on the first try. Opening cabinets, sliding drawers, and just grabbing objects is an exercise in frustration. The drone pick-up mechanic is a clever way to avoid players dropping things into inaccessible places, but I shouldn't need to use it as the primary way to grab something off the floor.
And quite a few bugs in general, mostly involving the drone mechanics. The drone can grab things from areas that haven't been unlocked yet if you point them out by sticking your hand through a wall/object... you can't actually grab the object until you unlock the containing puzzle, but it's still a bit of a puzzle spoiler. I also found the drone frequently stuck in a loop of running back and forth between floors, making his menus inaccessible. Finally, the drone's speech needs to be more consistent in volume. He would constantly wander off and begin talking in areas where I couldn't hear him. He spent the entire opening introductory shot floating on the 2nd floor, spouting critical plot dialog where I couldn't hear anything he was saying.
Probably not going to be any patches coming over a year after release, so be ready to deal with the bugs. Also, $14.99 is a stretch for less than 2 hours of game play, especially as unpolished as this is. I'd say less than $10 would be okay, but $5 is probably the actual value.
Really amazing game. Great interactions with the environment. I would have rated it 10/10 HOWEVER there are a few glitches.
First and foremost YOU CANNOT SAVE PROGRESS. Even though I have a slot saved it always takes me to the very start. So until they fix this definitely play when you have the time to finish the whole thing uninterrupted
I've noticed that on standing the map tends to move. Sometimes just holding the joystick on the controller still helps this.
Other than that really love the aesthetic and puzzles in this game. Highly recommend.

Was really excited about this after playing Abode. Graphics and puzzles are great, the bot is a bit annoying with its constant talking but not game breaking. What is game breaking unfortunately is that the game crashed twice and third time the save didn't work after taking a break. So about an hour in game I'm back at square one. Probably won't pick this one up again unless I know I can play it through all in one sitting.

Most enjoyable short game, nice atmosphere coupled with good puzzles and not-so-good robot jokes. I had trouble locating the last code and tried brute-forcing the last digit of the safe code - it wouldn't let me :(
I rather enjoyed this game a lot, and though it had a few issues, i still recommend this for anyone who enjoys puzzles, and a really relaxing VR game. I managed to beat the game with only using advice once (couldnt find the last code), and i had fun figuring it all out. It took time, and being observant, but when i did figure it out it did give a good feeling. The music record are nice too giving the game a nice atmosphere. The only complaint i had was the robot talked a bit too much, got in my way at times, and picked up things i didnt want him to, and wouldnt put it down. lol Still liked the guy.
For only $7 that i paid, it was an easy 8/10 game for me.

The drone is a novel way to do an inventory / advice system but ended up being more of a hindrance. I'd often bump into it with an almighty crash as all the inventory items went flying around. I'd far rather have had a normal inventory / advice button.
A little bit of background of why I was there might have helped.
Bugs:
The bottle in the vent required the vacuum to grab it. However you could just ask the drone to pick it up instead.
I am not sure if the end power grid is supposed to be a puzzle. Half the time the buttons didn't work half the time they did. Took me about 5 minutes to get them all turned on going in randomly.
Putting conflicting things in the drone inventory like the magnet and knife and all hell breaks loose.
When I put the VR visor on the first time nothing happened but the glasses disappeared. In the end havd to restart the game.
Great. THis is how to do an escape room game. The puzzles are just right and the hints are perfect.
I really wanted to enjoy this game. But after it crashing 2 times and not properly saving the position of some critical "quest" items (some just dissapeared) I did not want to restart the entire experience from scratch to finally be able to finish it.
So I purchased this in a bundle with the original Abode. the original was quirky and such, but in a good way.
After finishing the first Abode, I dove right into the Abode 2. There were obvious improvements to graphics and such which was nice at first. I began my search around the apartment and slowly found that I lost the ability to pick up any items(was working at start). At first I thought this was a tracking issue, but nope. I restarted and tried again only to find the same issue would creep up. This issue makes the game unplayable for me.
I tried to post on the discussion boards with 0 responses except for another individual having the same problem. It seems hit or miss as I read that other Index owners dont have the issue...atleast from some posts. But nothing from the devs on this which is a bit saddening.
TLDR - Make sure you test the game within your return window. I did not and now am stuck with a terd..

I like escape rooms with nice puzzles and this one is a good one. If you can tolerate [b]some freezes [/b](with permanent lost of data), [b]bugs[/b] related to connecting train tracks, [b]object clipping[/b] into walls and then [b]flying through the room [/b](like in the first game...) and [b]disappearing objects[/b], this game is for you.
At least, I would lower the price or fix some bugs.
I was hoping for a next level game, seeing it was made in 2019...
Based on 1.5 hours of gameplay it is easy to not recommend the game. Within the first five minutes I encountered my first game breaking bug where I simply could not pick anything up. After restarting the save the experience continued to be nothing short of annoying. Picking and holding onto items worked poorly when it worked at all and objects decided to jump off my hands seemingly on their own. Likewise the headgear had a life of their own: easy to wear, but required a lot of fiddling to get off. The second game breaking bug happened right on the second attempt: I'd handed the CPU to the bot, or rather it fell from its container and the bot picked it up at the start. When I'd done everything else and tried to put everything in place the bot held onto the CPU no matter what and halted my progression there. The bot itself was poorly written and annoying to listen to. Likewise the travel notes of a supposedly cultured and educated professor were filled with childish errors. On top of an otherwise miserable experience the audio shared the low-set bar with some objects being needlessly loud.
I did not enjoy my time playing Abode 2.

Very, very buggy. Items can both disappear entirely, or simply disappear but still exist.
The inventory mechanic was great at first, however trying to retrieve items will frequently cause the item to get stuck between the player and the inventory.
Puzzles that you will never guess without a hint.
All in all i enjoyed it for what it is... But it took me 3 full progress restarts before i could actually complete it due to bugs.
I didn't have high hopes for this after disliking the first game, but I bought them together so I'm at least giving it a go. After playing this I thought it was a student project, based on some of the content and humour, but it's not. There are grammatical & spelling mistakes all over the place, objects and physics are buggy and it's just really not enjoyable to play.
- In the first game, interacting with objects was done with a trigger click, which is immersion breaking but at least reliable. They've implemented the grip function on the index controllers to pick things up this time, but it's so wonky you have to try half a dozen times before you connect with the thing you're trying to pick up. Sometimes you pick up the container the object is in and end up throwing a table around.
- Locomotion is nauseating, but targeting a teleport location is equally wonky and there are lots of areas you can't teleport to, even though you can locomotion straight through them
- There's a small ledge on the floor near the stairs which shakes the camera up and down every time you go near it
Abode 1 was an amazing little game.
Abode 2 is great, however unfortunately it felt too easy in general.
Unlike the first, there were also quite a few bugs that i encountered, like Keys violently jerking around the place or the computer telling me my answers are wrong, but suddenly they are right on the second try.
However, the atmosphere and graphics are really well done and it was a pleasure to play this game.
Since the game is really cheap, i would still strongly recommend everyone who likes some puzzles to buy and check it out. Definitely worth the few € i spend on this and i am honestly hoping to see an Abode 3 someday with more content and creative riddles.
This is one of the best escape rooms I've tried in VR. The graphics really sells the immersion and the puzzles make use of great ideas that are only possible in VR.

Puzzles are not as good as in Abode 1: a lot of them are solved by simply finding the right clue.
Visuals are great, but optimization is severely lacking.

i love this game, didnt play the first one before this one, find it hard to play the first one after this is as its so much more visually impressive, the Sci Fi futuristic apartment looks great, the puzzles are good, when you find the VR headset, I took my time through that bit as I love the effect, it has free locomotion or teleport, hope they make a third, maybe different locations

I really enjoyed this escape room game. The futuristic setting with your Drone Assistant was a nice touch. The puzzles were not too difficult but challenging enough. Not a long game but fun to play. I would definitely recommend for anyone who like escape room and puzzle solving.

Hey, another nice escape room. Better than the predecessor and somewhat harder/longer, too. Production quality has been raised quite a bit. Really nice looking game!

Slicker graphics and a voluble robot helper transport you into the [url=https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/1019444551067914381/E6B5A870FF2266E969FECC25B19BC11D8D380C59/][i]Blade-Runner-esque[/i] environment[/url], with its two-story window dappled by rain.
It's mainly an overlapping affair of pushing one puzzle on a step, realising it's unlocked a key part for another one, and circling around between them, narrowing down on the solutions.
The robo-butler helps by gathering up items of importance and tagging around after you, so they're always to hand. He'll also give you handy hint if you're feeling particularly stuck, but I only felt the need to use it once.
The moment when they provide you with a VR mask, while a well-worn trope, exemplified the decent production values, inventiveness, and humorous expectation-flips in the game.
Indie glitches and inconsistencies still accompanied the journey though. Place a future-pipe in your mouth and puff away happily, one minute, and all is good. Try and eat a loaf of bread the next and get physics-flung across the room by the contact . Typos abound everywhere, and the sound levels are amazingly uneven. And the robo-butler will fastidiously snatch items back out of your hand, leading to frequent wrestling matches...
Still, when it all slinks along in time to the detective music, it's a fine evening's entertainment all told :)
A delightful follow up to the original Abode with a much better payoff. These are some of my favorite 'escape room' type games in VR with a futuristic art deco jazz style. Took me about 90 minutes without rushing. There was only one part I thought was a little obtuse otherwise if's a charming puzzlebox.

Calling this game fantastic is an understatement. The amount of detail that was shown here is amazing. I bought the first and second Abode together and I played this one first. Even today it is still hard to find a lot of amazing VR games. This kept me occupied for almost an hour and a half. my only wish was there was more to play. I look forward to playing more games that are just as good. Abode 2 is definitely a couple steps up above the original but still the original is nothing to turn your nose up at. Overflow has a nice future ahead of them and I will definitely be supporting this from this point on. Good job guys!
A Very buggy game. Abode 1 is worth buying but I'd stay away from this one, most of the puzzles are the same as in abode 1 but they feel less polished, Robot butler is annoying aswell.
Awesome little escape room game. Picked this and the first Abode up as a bundle on sale for just under $10. Not gruelingly difficult or long but left me with a good feeling of satisfaction. Money well spent. Time well spent! A great way to break up the Corona virus lock down.
VR room escape at its best. You found yourself in some appartment an have to solve puzzles and find items in order to restore power to a district of the city.

A great follow-up to a good original. The atmosphere is more polished this time around, and you still get a tight little room escape experience. You don't need to have played the first, there are no story connections. The drone inventory system is really handy, if you're stuck it can often help to have him tidy up the place, he'll sometimes retrieve an important item that you overlooked.

Bien que limité, l’intrigue est un peu plus travaillée que dans le Abode I. J’ai eu beaucoup de plaisir à jouer à ce jeu à résoudre une à une les énigmes. Les objets se saisissent bien, les casse-têtes sont variés et suivent une logique compréhensible, les commandes sont intuitives sans besoin d’apprentissage. On retrouve les incontournable des escapes room comme la lumière noire ou la recherche de clefs. Tout cela fait que l’immersion est bonne. J’ai mis un peu plus de 2 heures d’un vrai plaisir pour sortir de l’appartement. C’est peu de temps de jeux comparé à d’autres titre mais ce jeu est peu cher et je le recommande chaudement à ceux qui aime les jeux puzzle.
Very fun 'escape room' game!
They've made excellent use of certain elements of VR, on top of providing some great puzzles.
The game took me a little under two hours to complete (with some poking, prodding, and messing around), so this makes for a decent-length game to give your friends a nice, complete puzzle experience in VR.
[i]Index users: this does support basic motion tracking with the knuckles, but it can feel a little clunky at times (e.g., interacting with menus)---for the most part I didn't notice this, however.[/i]

Очень понравилась механика курения трубки! Прям настолько, что я стоял и курил трубку в VR. Рассказали бы мне такое лет 10 назад - не поверил бы.
P.S. Если тело само движется в какую-то сторону в игре, то достаточно в настройках SteamVR поменять мертвую зону для аналоговых стиков на 10% и больше никуда тело не плывет.
Another fantastic little escape room by this team. Very well crafted! Short, low replay value, but game designers & devs deserve support for titles like this.
It's alright. The puzzles are decently hard but not overly so. The graphics are decent too. The view out of the window is pretty nice after you solve all the puzzles.
I didn't really like the talking drone. I think there are some bugs about it too - when i ordered the drone to pick up a non-essential item such as a painting or a book it wouldn't let go of them no matter what, so item management became annoying. Also the drop/tidy up behaviour is kinda unclear in general i feel. Sometimes he would just make things harder for me because he would snatch something i put away for a moment and fly to the desk and drop the item there. If your inventory wasn't necessarily tied to the drone it would have been a lot better i think.

Есть также пара мелких и пара довольно серьезных глюков. И по взаимодействию с объектами, и по сюжетным ключам. Как и плавающие по звуку монологи дрона, шум инвентаря. НО! В целом все крайне мило, забавно, множество объектов, многоуровневые загадки, секретики и записочки. Играть было интересно.

I bought this game because I played the first and it was one of the first games that played well.
The second installment performed just as well, little lag or glitches.
There were two points at the end where it was unclear as to what was needed, (the actual end game!) Otherwise most puzzles are sensibly signposted. The drone hint sequence can be a bit annoying, would you like some advice? Here's something blatantly obvious! The ability to get the drone to pick things up, and store an inventory is good. Although the inventory doesn't work well with too many items (and glitches on save games, this is minor though).
Overall an easy on the eyes experience, and recommended
Similar to the first Abode game, this is a well designed VR Escape room game. The puzzles are not too difficult and it provides an enjoyable experience from beginning to end. Your run time will vary from person to person, but expect about an hour and change if you power through things and don't get hung up on anything. The only downside is a lack of replay-ability, but it's still well worth playing through.
I just played through Abode 2 and I had a lot of fun.
Graphics are pretty shiny and the setting is really neat. The riddles are not that hard but hard enough to not get bored. I was in a flow all the time but with breaks where I had to think. The riddles are fun and award'ish for the player. To me this is how it is supposed to be
What is was really impressed about was the physics. I have rarely seen sth. like this before! Example: When you take a picture from the wall and want to put it back it does not glitch through the wall but you can hang them back on the nail. Just a detail maybe but it is an important part of the immersion to me.
About the price: On escape rooms it is always the same: Is it worth to you to spend the money for a one time game? I always compare it to cinema. Here in Germany we pay about 10 - 15 Euros for a movie . With the game here (13,00 Euros at the moment) I had fun for about the same time - Maybe a little longer. To me this is an absolute fair price.
Last but not least: The game has an inventory - How great is this? Best thing: It is not sth. like bag or a packbag but a little flying robot you can make pick up things and keep them while it is following you.
Summed up: I liked Abode a lot and I like Abode 2 even more! I had a great time with the game and I am looking forward to the next game of these guys.

Abode 2 is a cool Escape Room game. It presents several very interesting concepts like your talking inventory bot quite different riddles and stylish visuals.
Sometimes your bot disappears and you have to return to the center of the abode so he can return from the other level but that can also be a quirk of this companion.
Achievements would be nice and including Pluto somehow would have also been nice.

- Only 2 songs ? It's really boring after a few replays. An old school radio with a playlist would be perfect.
- Drone is very buggy while interacting with objects. Keeps dragging around objects that are no longer needed. And When you need something the drone in not even close to grab the object.
- I miss the teleportation option... walking is really slow.

The game took about 1,5h to finished but the price is fair. Adobe 2 is very polished and pleasant to experience. It has also a lot of funny and unexpected interactions. One of the best escape room VR expieriences! Definitely worth playing :)
This is a really great set of puzzles wrapped in a glitchy, frustrating experience. If you really like 'escape game' style puzzles though it is probably worth the pain.
I'm using the Valve Index controllers. Collision detection is anything but seamless/natural. There are many drawers and doors to move, and they can only be moved by their handles, and when you let go of the handle they often do unexpected things like close so you can't access the contents. The best workaround is to hold the door with one hand and grab items with the other, which works except for the times when one hand loses the ability to grab items until the game is restarted. Grabbing one specific item out of the cluster of inventory items held by the drone is awkard, and it's unclear to me what the drone's "drop items" mode actually does as dropping items doesn't seem to be a part of it.
The original Abode was a nice well polished room escape game. For some reason Abode 2 doesn't have that polish. The sounds effects, voice, and music are so unevenly balanced you'll find yourself constantly changing the volume in an attempt to find something comfortable. Be ready to keep restarting because of game breaking bugs - Items will go missing, buttons randomly stop working, or you'll start floating up through the ceiling and disappear from the room. Really disappointing.
I'd wait and see if they fix the bugs before picking this one up.

Very short. Took me two hours with no help from robot friend, and I got stuck once. Personally I'd wait for it to be on sale. I think VR games of this length for this price were more appropriate a couple years ago.

I had audio issues hearing the robot friend and as far as I could tell, there was no way to independently control the voice audio. It was just music/sound, meaning if I wanted to hear him, everything else was deafening. Since he has subtitles it's not a deal breaker but definitely annoying. Also, I missed whatever he said at the end of the game because there were no subtitles and he was too quiet.

A bit short, but quite nice escape room experience.
Thumb-stick movement a bit to sensitive (at least the default setting on Vive trackers, like there were no dead zone (or it was too small) for thumbs).
I wrote a positive review about Abode 1, this one however I cannot recommend.
There are a load of physics bugs which cause all sorts of annoying problems, the most serious being that I accidentally no-clipped into the elevator door and the credits rolled. I hadn't even completed all the puzzles!
Other physics issues seem to be when loading the save I was launched through the skybox, and a lot of items I had put into nice places to find them again had been strewn across the room all over the place, various items following me around and moving around depending on where I look even though I wasn't carrying them (the worst being the headset), items disappearing and clipping through various other items [spoiler](the key from the train being one)[/spoiler]
Fix all these bad physics problems and I might repurchase.
I love physical escape rooms, and this was my first try at a virtual one.
The puzzles are decent, and except for some physics glitches it worked without issues.
Definetly recommended, even though the replay value is 0.
Abode 2 von Overflow ist der zweite Teil des tollen Vorgängers Abode. Gleich zu Beginn merkt man den deutlichen grafischen Fortschritt zum ersten Teil.
Nach einem Sturz aus geringer Höhe kommen wir in einem Apartment wieder zu uns. Ein kleiner Flugroboter empfängt uns und schnell ist klar, dass nicht nur in dieser Wohnung der Strom ausgefallen ist. Die ganze cyberpunkige Skyline inklusive rasend schnellen Flugautos liegt im Dunkeln.

Der nervige Robot, faselt uns nicht nur voll und erzählt Witze, sondern erweist sich auch als nützlich, indem er als Inventar dient. Wir hängen einfach die gewünschten Objekte unter den Robot in sein Kraftfeld. Sehr praktisch. Jetzt fliegt der kleine klappernd und klimpernd durch die Wohnung. Die ganze Interaktion in Adobe 2 funktioniert eigentlich sehr gut. Selbst Fingertracking der Index-Controller wird unterstützt.
Manchmal hängt das Programm aber bei der Bedienung der Holoschalter des Robots, oder der Kleine kann einfach keine Hilfreichen Tipps geben. Er wiederholt einfach nur die Aufgabe, die wir gerade erledigen. Schade.

Aufgaben gibt es aber reichlich zu tun, bis wir den Blackout wieder behoben haben. Dabei ist es völlig egal in welcher Reihenfolge wir die Rätsel lösen. Der Schwierigkeitsgrad ist nicht zu hoch und mit nur etwas Hirnschmalz lässt sich Abode 2 in knapp 2h lösen.

Das Apartment erkunden wir per Teleportation oder freier Bewegung, so dass die Spielfeldgröße quasi egal ist. Immer noch schwer zu erreichende Gegenstände können wir auf Fingerzeig von unserem fliegenden Nerverlein ranziehen lassen und dann greifen.
Adobe 2 ist ein toller und grafisch hübscher Escaperoomtitel und steht dem Vorgänger in nichts nach, ganz im Gegenteil. Die Grafik ist viel realistischer, das Rätselniveau ist nicht zu hoch und trotzdem werden sich Kenner nicht unterfordert fühlen.

Abode 2 of Overflow is the second part of the great predecessor Abode. Right at the beginning you notice the clear graphical progress to the first part.
After a fall from a low height we come back to us in an apartment. A small flying robot welcomes us and soon it is clear that not only in this apartment the electricity is out. The whole cyberpunky skyline including the fast flying cars is in the dark.
The annoying robot, not only fills us full and tells jokes, but also proves to be useful by serving as an inventory. We simply hang the desired objects under the robot in its force field. Very practical. Now the little clattering and jingling robot flies through the apartment. The whole interaction in Adobe 2 actually works very well. Even finger tracking of the index controller is supported.
But sometimes the program hangs when operating the holoswitches of the robot, or the little one just can't give helpful hints. He just repeats the task we are doing. A pity.
But there are plenty of tasks to do until we fix the blackout. It does not matter in which order we solve the puzzles. The degree of difficulty is not too high and with only a little bit of brainwax Abode 2 can be solved in about 2h.
We explore the apartment by teleportation or free movement, so that the size of the playing field is virtually irrelevant. Objects that are still difficult to reach can be pulled in by our flying nerve cells at the tip of a finger and then grabbed.
Adobe 2 is a great and graphically beautiful escaperoom title and is in no way inferior to its predecessor, quite the contrary. The graphics are much more realistic, the level of puzzles is not too high and still connoisseurs will not feel underchallenged.

Okay, I have never once written a review before, so please temper your judgement, however I hope to persuade any would be buyers on the fence about this game.
Tldr; Good game, easily fixable bugs, might deafen you though
This game is....... strange, it is fun for the most part but of all things it can be a bit.... unstable. I definitely enjoyed the game no doubt about it, it was an interesting escape the room game with futuristic vibes and a wise crackin' companion, however the game can use a bit patching up... One common problem I noticed was the difficulty moving items and the (some times ear breaking) audio issues. Multiple times throughout the game either a glitch had occurred, halting my progress, a random noise would give me the effect of a flashbang, or I would hear the same hint or pun about 50+ times. However these problems (as well as a bit of a lack luster ending) can be easily repaired with a minor tweak and should not stop you from enjoying this game. Is it worth fifteen dollars? In playtime... no, in fun factor..... that depends on if you like puzzles, robots and really stupidly funny puns. So if you are on the fence, I recommend you buy it, just don't come crying to me when you are deafer than a door knob, because I probably still can't hear ya.
Definitely recommend, they did a really nice job with the atmosphere and the drone has a unique little inventory system where it holds your stuff.
Puzzles are well integrated into the environment and difficulty is well balanced.

- Slightly choppy, not perfectly optimized
- Cost to length (I beat the game in a bit less than an hour and a half)
- The robot butler's jokes. Boooooooo
Overall, I recommend this game as one of the better escape rooms in VR. I think the price is a tad bit high for the amount of content, but it's about the price of a movie and cheaper than a real escape room so there's that. The puzzles are good but it's more of an 'explore the room' challenge than it is figuring anything out. But I had a lot of fun.
The first Abode is the only Puzzle Room game that I demo to my friends. The puzzles, the polish, and the atmosphere is tops. Abode 2 does more of the same, and that's a good thing. The puzzles feel good to solve, the story slowly unfolds, and it's just fun. Seeing as how Puzzle/Escape Rooms in RL usually costs upwards of $30, I'd say a virtual version at half the cost for about the same amount of time of fun is reasonable.
The only bad thing I have to say about the game was how buggy some things were on launch. HOWEVER, the devs were super on top of things, were very responsive to bug reports, and with this latest update, all my previous woes are resolved.

I agree with tribesmd 100% ... both Abode games are great. Very enjoyable puzzles and never too difficult as to frustrate you and a very charming experience. A 'little' wonky with the index controllers and had a couple of times where I could not take an item from the drone with my left hand, but was able to with my right ... go figure. Highly recommended and thanks to the devs, I'll be buying your next game sight unseen
Abode 2 is an escape room adventure set in a cyberpunk-like world. You are in an apartment and have to restore power to a whole city district. There is no time limit for the task. A drone accompanies you and carries things and provides useful hints when you are stuck. The puzzles aren´t too difficult whereas some things took me a while to figure out. I mastered the whole experience in 80 minutes. The physics are quite good even if things get stuck from time to time but that´s no dealbreaker. There is free locomotion and teleport controls, both can be combined. Index controllers with fingertracking are supported but the fingertracking is useless. One thing might be a little frustrating: in the beginning it is very dark in most corners of the apartment so that you can barely see anything. It takes a while to restore electrical power and to be able to turn the lights on. Until then you are stumbling through dark corners, half blind, and hoping you don´t miss something. All in all it is well done, looks good, controls well and I can recommend it even if a little more content for the price tag would be deeply appreciated.
30 mins in and already the best Escape Room style VR experiance I've had. Attention to detail in making the environment feel authentic and the puzzles are obvious. Wonderful job!
My new Abode...
Just find that gramophone. From there, the mood is set to uncover all the interesting little puzzles the devs have laboured over. I really like these games. It's not 'escape the room', quite. It's more 'discover the room' and all it has to offer. But perhaps most importantly, we can wear the hat this time around. :)
