Great logic puzzles, reasonably funny. I'm a programmer and I introduced my kid to computer logic with this. It's a fun challenge for most skill levels. Much more enjoyable than their previous installment, Human Resource Machine (also very good, but not as good).
Only knock really is the game is somewhat sleight. If you pay anywhere near full price, you'll feel like there should be more by the end.

I have definitely enjoyed this game and will try to at least finish all the levels.

Pros:
- good for beginners
- interesting challenges (emphasis on problems, not specific solutions)
- debugging tools
- my type of humor
- encourages experimentation, allows hacky or hardcoded solutions

Cons:
- limited instruction set, could use custom commands (abstractions), while loop, etc.
- could use single employee run/debugging mode
- failure makes it hard to read the final state

В отличие от первой части, в этой игрок программирует поведение одновременно нескольких офисных болванчиков. В середине игры есть некоторое количество занятных головоломок, но процесс программирования и последние головоломки опять не задались. Если пишешь большую, не помещающуюся на один экран программу, кнопка отмены последнего действия видна только если экран прокручен в самый низ, и не видно, что именно ты отменяешь, а ctrl-z не работает. Нет и нормальных копирования-вставки фрагментов кода. Хорошо хоть особо неприятные уровни можно пропускать

As a programmer, I wasn't sure if I wanted to spend my free time doing more programming — but 7 Billion Humans hooked me anyway. The jump from single-worker puzzles in Human Resource Machine to parallel processing with a whole team forces you to think in genuinely new ways, and those 'a-ha' moments when a solution clicks are incredibly satisfying. The later levels get seriously challenging, especially if you're chasing the speed and size optimization goals, which had me waking up in the morning with new ideas to try. My main gripe is the interface: no hotkeys, tedious click-heavy if-statements, and jump arrows that turn into spaghetti on complex solutions — it really holds the game back. Still, if you enjoyed HRM or have any interest in programming puzzles, this is an easy recommendation.

The game presents itself as accessible and as a fun game or a tool for learning programming, but in reality, it's low-level programming. It's basically restricted assembly. The game defies all practical design patterns. Even as a developer, you'll hit a wall starting from at least level 10.

But... after a few hours of playing, I realized I wasn't approaching it correctly. This isn't a programming simulator or a tool for learning programming. It should be understood rather as a specific logic puzzle. Once you accept these artificial constraints as the core of the riddle, the mechanics start to make sense. The game suddenly seems quite easy to me and the individual levels are interesting algorithmic challenges. Therefore, I am changing my rating to positive, although I don't guarantee that I will manage to beat the highest levels.

On it's own, this feels like a nice game that overstayed its welcome. You have to deal with the clunky bits more and more as it goes on and on...
Compared to Human Resource Machine, it took significantly longer to 100% for a much lower feeling of satisfaction.

A gameplay é bem parecida com seu antecessor, Human Resource Machine, porém em certos aspectos é bem mais complexa e faz tu pensar mais. Aqui ao invés de controlar apenas uma pessoa, controlamos várias, determinando como elas interagem entre si e com os objetos do chão.

Alguns níveis confesso que busquei a resposta, mas isso acabou ajudando a manter o ritmo e não tornar a experiência só chata e cansativa. Até porque aprender com as soluções faz parte do processo. Recomendo demais para quem quer treinar e testar seu raciocínio lógico.

7 Billion Humans is far less successful than its predecessor. It has the same core gameplay, Tomorrow Corporations great art style and writing, the great music; nothing there has diminished. But it shoots too high for its formula and ends up unsatisfying. The new system for controlling groups of people instead of individual blocks is a great idea that simultaneously keeps the concepts of the original game intact, but still allows for a different feeling from the first. No skills transfer (Except core, general logistic programming skills) but it all still feels familiar and the original sets you up to be successful in this game.

The issue is with the clash between the programming structure and this game's far more complicated systems. While the actual logic in 7 Billion Humans is about as complex as Human Resource Machine, the steps to apply that logic are not. Any one human can go eight directions, interact with nine directions, and the gameplay loop involves using the limited programming language to make those humans complete basic tasks. The main issue arises with how this is handled. Choosing what direction a human goes is simple in any one command, but when you create larger programs it becomes far more messy than anything you were capable of creating in the original game. Debugging in this game is neigh impossible on long puzzles, because if the issue is a single miss click when selecting direction, it is like searching for a coin in a ten block cube of New York City. There are step-by-step tools to assist with this, but I never found it an adequate solution to actually finding the issue.

The way the humans interact is also vague which creates a trial and error loop. One puzzle had, what I felt was a simple solution. I ran my code and it didn't work. I spent a good forty minutes trying to think of a different way to do it, and I felt too little progress had been made in my mindset that I had to be missing something. In shame, I looked up the answer to the puzzle, and the solution was basically identical to my original code. I still do not know what I did wrong, and it speaks to the issues I mentioned that my assumption wasn't my code having a misplaced piece, but some vague behavior of the humans I didn't account for in my original idea. It was a small bit of code too, so me not being able to see the problem while actively looking at my code for the error should also speak to the clutter of the UI I also touched on.

It is easy to say "skill issue' in this regard, and to a degree I could accept that being true. But I have completed the original Human Resource Machine in its entirety, with complete length/efficiency trials on each level. And I stopped playing this game far before it reached the logical complexity of the end levels in Human Resource Machine, so I feel my problems with this game stem more from its design than any problems with difficulty and my personal capacity to complete them.

Many puzzles I knew how to solve from a logistic standpoint, but couldn't figure out how to align the code properly for a long while. Since I was having that problem on simpler levels, I was scared of getting to a place where I was actually challenged by the logic AND had to get a solution into the program. I got to the point where I would open a puzzle, see what was required of me, I think internally "♥♥♥♥ that".

Rather disappointing. 7 Billion Humans is not without merits, and if you are more proficient than me in coding (Basically any soft skill at all, I do not know how to code.) my problems with the game may not effect you. But, thought it useful to write them out anyway. I am sad to not finish 7 Billion Humans, but I feel no drive to continue.

Just play Human Resource Machine, which has a better learning curve and more enjoyable challenges, and if you've already played that one then pick up a zachtronics programming game. It is basically a puzzle game that teaches you how to program. No programming knowledge necessary of course. You just give your little worker a list of steps to do to achieve a given goal. You're supposed to do it in the least amount of steps. It is not for everyone and there are many games like this, but I liked it. The classic Tomorrow Corporation art style is present as well. There is a bit of a story here too.

The good:
- Great logic puzzles
- Solutions can be jank, much like real programming solutions
- Decent challenge level

The bad:
- Fastest/Shortest solutions don't feel satisfying as often you are relying on the fast runs to be quicker than the failed runs
- Insane jump in difficulty which really killed my enjoyment as I felt I was trying to develop a AAA game using scratch
- Lack of depth and even less explanations

Despite this, I had fun, I felt challenged

This is the best “casual” programming puzzle game that exists right now. Other programming games are better overall but aren’t quite as “casual” as this one, or as suitable for a general audience.

By “casual” I really mean that it starts off super easy and provides the simplest and easiest block programming UI possible. The block programming UI is too limited to be a general programming language, but it’s suitable for the game as it’s the absolute minimum needed for the problems in the game. It doesn’t even require a keyboard to enter any arguments, and there are no numeric arguments > 99 or < 0. So essentially no trouble is wasting time with a UI containing any block programming features that aren’t needed and this allows everything to be done purely with a mouse or touch screen.

Kids will initially think it’s a kids game because that’s how simple it starts. However the difficulty increases very slowly until even professionals will start getting confused near the end. (Part of the thing professionals won’t like about this is that many things can’t be done in the usual manner due to the artificial limitations of the language and puzzle environment, but even that isn’t much of an issue until the very end.)

Even before you get near the end, the game adds time and space optional challenges to almost all of the levels to make the ones that are too easy for professionals a bit more interesting where otherwise they wouldn’t have much more value than a low hoop to jump over.

Without the optional optimization challenges, I had to get to level 58 or so to have any difficulty with the basic solution requirements (largely due to the weird atypical limitations of the environment), but before that I could make things more interesting by just passing either the minimum instructions or maximum speed challenges. I decided not to do more than one or the other just because I didn’t want to slow myself down by essentially doubling the number of levels.

Anyway, if on sale for 50% off, this one is a no-brainer purchase.

7 Billion Humans is probably one of the best coding related puzzle games out there. Honestly, this game perfectly embodies what I would consider a well made coding game. The UI is well done and eases people in with simple and easy to understand setups. The game uses a very seamless drag and drop option to add lines of code, has intuitive modification options, and offers visual depictions of what is happening with your little human on the left side. The visual movement as you go through your code was a really nice touch, and it also helped debugging significantly. The whole design really just made the ease of playing very simple.

The puzzles themselves were also really well thought out for the most part. From introducing simple puzzles in the beginning with just the basics, to adding in more complex operations... things are eased in and the puzzles are interesting. The game starts off quite simple, but it REALLY ramps up in difficulty once you get to or past the midway mark or so. I was blowing my brains out in some of the puzzles watching my dumb little human struggle with my buggy code. Additionally, if you want to get all the challenges and optimal coding (kinda like leetcode type of challenge sometimes), it is even harder. Most of the puzzles I was never able to figure out an optimal solution, even if I was able to figure out one potential solution.

I really enjoyed my time playing 7 Billion Humans, and I feel like this game is the embodiment of simplicity meets complexity. If you have any interest in this genre, I would strongly recommend giving this a go!

全部の課題のランプつけるところまでやったのでレビュー。全員に共通の指示を出して目的をできるだけ少ない命令と実行時間で達成するゲーム。ベストスコアが見られるので、それを目指してやり始めると終わらなくなりそうな気がしたのでここまで。

プログラミングパズルというところなので人を選ぶのは間違いないが、プログラミングを娯楽と思えるタイプの人には間違いなくお勧めできる。逆にそうでない人は手を出すべきではないかなと。

マウスでポチポチ命令を置いていくことしかできないのが残念ポイント。部分選択でコピーとかできないのはつらい。テキストベースでエディタで頑張ってね、みたいなモードがあると良かったかなと思う。このＵＩならもうちょっと強い命令があった方が嬉しいかなぁとは思う。

そういうゲームだから仕方ないのは分かるが、誰が今何をしているのか？が分かりにくく、何に時間がかかっていてどうすれば時間を短縮できるのかも分かりにくい、というのもとっつきにくさにつながっている感はある。

そういう中で、こんなのできるわけないじゃん、ができたときの爽快感を楽しむゲームである。

I enjoyed it until the random skill spike around year 10 (13 was the most difficult, making me quit twice in a row), struggling even with references from other players who seem to have optimized it perfectly. Similar to what another reviewer said, this game is actually a chore by that point.

I dabble in programming, and this makes the programming redundant REALLY FAST. As in even I get infuriated with the drag and drop, which is a genius idea until the point aforementioned - which is also where your programs can grow rapidly and, if you're not as experienced, have confused moments not really knowing why your program works. If you want to actually learn programming and you like drag and drop, I recommend just going on to Scratch and hitting your head on your keyboard until you make a bunch of circles move over this.
The entire point of learning programming, even in an extremely simple way like Scratch, is to learn how to make something in a simple way. That is why there's so much to it. This game tries to be an introduction to those who happen to be beginners or between beginner and intermediate, but this falls flat heavily.
In short, I don't recommend. If you actually want to try it, just look for it when it's at a really discounted price.

非常好游戏，就是玩到第六关就开始有股我上班的时候经常遇到的头痛感（上班才会有），有股花钱上班的美感。
但是锻炼钝感的大脑感觉应该是很有作用的，因为用最简单的底层思维构造出来很多指令在我看来是非常锻炼脑子的，就像围棋一样，最简单的反而是最难的。
总之还不错，后面有空了再玩了。

Lo peor es que las instrucciones nunca serán muy claras... el juego quiere que vos lo hagas todo con lógica...

Haciendo eso he matado a todos mis empleados en todas las tareas. Es imposible eso y yo lo logré.
