The mobile app version is better, not buggy, and free. This Steam version sucks. There's way less sound - no sound at all when you move tiles around. When you play in smaller modes, it unlocks achievements for the larger modes, so even if you get a smaller tile and win, it automatically thinks you won the 2048 tile. Pretty broken. The menu is laggy and unresponsive at times and the devs haven't figured out how to load a high score menu without freezing the game until it's done loading. The larger game modes are almost completely trivial. Such a disappointment.

Simple but fabulously addictive game. Allowing grid sizes other than the "standard" 4 by 4 was a great addition. I'd like to see a limited save feature, where saves are done each time player manages to generate a tile that is larger than any generated in that game thus far. For example, if you had a 512 tile but not a 1024 tile yet in this game, you could restart from the point the 512 tile was generated. So, once you get into the really large times, saves become further and further apart (twice as many moves approximately), providing a nice smooth difficult ramp.

This game is great for grounding when I'm feeling anxious. I've actually recommended it to others through out the years. Makes you think just enough to get out of your head without being frustrated. :)
Instantly downloaded when I saw there was a steam version.
My one negative is the bots are out of control and leaves human players unable to tell where they truly stack up against others in terms of the timed modes. I, as a human, can complete the 3x3 puzzle in 17.2 seconds. Pretty darn fast, but I can't beat TURBO AI 9000 who, "completed the puzzle" in 0.02 seconds.
Edit: 13.1 seconds is my new best. And yet the fact remains.

This game is incredibly relaxing and surprisingly addictive.

Nice game, if you like 2048 then you will like this game. I wish it had controller input to play, but not necessary to enjoy it; you must have a keyboard and mouse to play this game as far as I can tell.

另外玩2048的小技巧是把数字从大到小摞在一个角，我是习惯性摞在左下角，可以看自己顺手。

— **Темы** «тёмная/светлая» — выбор между «убить глаза» сейчас или потом.
— **Таблица лидеров** — чтобы знать, что где-то есть человек, который сложил 4096… и ему явно нечем заняться.
**Минусы:**
— Цена выше, чем мои шансы собрать 2048 без нервного срыва.
— Весенние скидки прошли мимо, как мимо тебя пятерка по алгебре в школе.
**Вердикт:** Если готов платить за цифры, как за крипту, — беги. Если нет — скачай бесплатно на телефон и притворись, что не видел эту версию. Но таблица лидеров всё равно будет манить… как нерешенный пример на доске. 🏆
P.S. После 10 часов начинаешь видеть числа в узорах ковра. Это не глюк — ты просто достиг просветления.

Pour ~6€, je pense qu'il faut plus voir cet achat comme une donation pour les créateurs du jeu, car le jeu étant gratuit sur mobile, il n'y a aucune raison d'y jouer sur Steam, les tableaux de scores étant remplis de cheaters, et le jeu ayant des fonctionnalités de profil limitées, voulant dire que les succès ne comptent, et ne pourront être affichés sur votre profil Steam (et moi qui l'ai pris juste pour ça :,)
Malgré tout, 2048 reste un MONUMENT des jeux de puzzle et moi qui suis fan de puzzle, je ne peux m'empêcher de le recommander, mais essayez la version mobile (gratuite) d'abord.

It's your typical 2048, but with some fun additions--timed mode or classic and you can choose what sized board you play on! 3x3, 4x4, etc.
Desperately needs a windowed mode--devs commented on considering it in '18 but it still hasn't been implemented in '23.
ETA: Still no windowed mode as of '25.

This is an addictive game, yet challenging. Trying to get to 2048 is not as easy as it sounds, but you will eventually. Try to go to 4096 and beyond.....

2. Мобильность. Теперь вы можете спокойно насрать в бутылку, просунув в горлышко прямую кишку
3. Если вы мужчина, то можно не бояться, что вас изнасилуют. Это практически невозможно.
4. Чистая жопа. Так как фекалии больше не соприкасаются с поверхностью жопы, то она постоянно чиста и неотразима.

A bad version of the game. I have this one on my smartphone and there it is really fun. You can do bigger squares there and even other forms. Also the sliding of the tiles is bad here and I really prefer the version I have on my smartphone.
