This game is like my potato soup, Just stuff moving from left to right without ever knowing where is right and where is left. But in basic you play the role of goofy guy who collect hats like its some sort of badge of honor. while trying to dodge whatever some random superhero thats behind the screen throws at you. Seriously who can throw a piano.Also you will have to dodge stop signs like that one time you went home drunk and you had to stay still because the sign menacingly stared at you saying stop. + the random event minigames are fun as much as peeing in morning, like you know where it's going but the hell you ain't know how it end up.

Funniest game I ever played. There was a joke so funny that I was left breathless. This is definitely my sense of humor. If you haven't bought this game already, buy it. What are you waiting for?
Mediocre and Annoying to play
I discovered Yahtzee Croshaw back in his early days when he posted the Zero Punctuation to YouTube for The Darkness II and followed him off and on for many years, including buying Mogworld when it came to audiobook on iTunes (which included him reading the book). Naturally when I found out that there was a Zero Punctuation game out I threw money at it to get it. Hatfall - Hatters Gonna Hat has all of the Zero Punctuation humor without the Escapist drama. It is a recommendation for anyone who enjoys the Zero Punctuation reviews and wishes to support the creator.

Its not much more than a novelty, with the quality/depth of a Newgrounds game. Might be worth it if you want to support Fully Ramb-I mean Zero Punctuation.
Is this game going to have tonnes of replay value? No. Will it keep you engaged for at least a little while to play through each of the mini-games? Probably.
It's a fun little concept in the same way that cookie clicker is; a time waster to play when you don't really have the commitment for a proper title. You run left to right in hopes of catching a hat that descends from the heavens. Then the game starts to fight you and makes collecting these hats more of a challenge by adding in extra characters to blur your perception on who it is you're controlling. You, or possibly these additional characters, may be crushed or impaled should anyone happen to misstep and end up in the wrong place.
The wizard will further add to this difficulty by altering reality, either by means of raining down slippery blood, or rotating your screen 180 degrees... Or, at least I think he rotates your screen, I can't be bothered to reinstall and find out. Appease him and he may grant you a boon.
After you finish collecting a specific amount of hats, you are then able to do one of two things:
Option 1 is to purchase an alter-ego from the store who will appear when clouding your screen. Option 2 is to redeem a gift that is periodically magnetised to the hat you have just caught. These gifts that you redeem are the core basis for keeping you engaged as they're what unlocks the mini-games.
The mini-games are certainly whimsical, there's a hat dating simulator in full on Japanese style. Then there's the one where you hide in a tree, shoot a bear accountant, then take his place at work. There's also less intense gags like rolling down a hill at your desk to catch hats in a net and It's just dumb fun. If you liked Zero Punctuation and enjoy absurd comical things, then for £5 you may as well take a look.
In conclusion: Where's your hat? You ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hatless ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

For $5, it's a pretty fun toy, especially if you're a Zero Punctuation/Fully Ramblomatic fan.
A great simple little fun game with more surprises then you would think. Also, genuinely punch to the gut funny. If you are thinking of getting this game, I can highly recommend. It's this or a 20 pack of cheap cigarettes, your call.

I love Yahtzee's sense of humor, and there's a lot of interesting nuance in the game, but somewhat ironically, the primary gameplay loop isn't actually fun. It's just a grind to get to the next funny bit.
A game by the legendary Yahtzee that involves you try to catch......HATS! THAT ARE FALLING! The overall game revolves around that one mini game with several other mini games to spice things up. Depending on your personality the humor might not be for you but as a long time fan of ZP this was pretty much what I wanted in game form. Off the premise and fun I had I would be happy to recommend for the full $5.
I love ZP to death as the next guy, but this is disappointing.

Created by [i]The Escapist[/i]'s Yahtzee Croshaw, this short game faithfully captures the spirit of Yahtzee's show [i]Zero Punctuation[/i], and thus is sure to please its fans. It boasts a surprisingly deep narrative and upgrade system that promote solid replayability for such a simple concept. While achievement hunters will struggle with the unreasonably high thresholds for the final achievements and all players will face some graphical bugs, there's enough here to justify a purchase for interested players, especially visiting fans.
In [i]Hatfall[/i], you run back and forth to collect hats until you miss one. Levels get progressively harder as the screen clutters with more NPCs and the game throws in other threats and distractions. The hats serve as both a currency to unlock "upgrades" and as a nebulous counter on the main menu until...something happens. The upgrades, while mostly cosmetic, can segue into odd minigames that often involve branching choices such that you'll want to buy them again to see all the options - thus, the replayability.
The game's writing, between the minigames, the quotes on interstitial screens, and everything relating to the countdown exude the comedic energy of [i]Zero Punctuation[/i]. Crass humor, political digs, mockery of videogame tropes, exotic profanity - whether one is a fan of Yahtzee's humor generally would serve as a good litmus test for how well one would enjoy this game's writing. Though some of the jokes can grow stale through the repeats that extended play sessions entail, there is enough writing to satisfy the 3-4 hours it takes to resolve the game's "plot."
As a score attack game, this is the ideal kind of subject for achievement hunter or score attackers. Unfortunately, the most difficult achievements require way too much dedication. As mentioned, there are roughly 3-4 hours of fresh content to explore - and then look at my playtime. These achievement requirements should've been cut in half, at least. To compound the inconvenience, this game has no Steam Cloud support, meaning that all progress for one of the hardest achievements resets everytime the player uninstalls. Otherwise, beyond some non-gamebreaking graphical bugs, there is little to complain about.
[i]Hatfall[/i] feels like a gift specifically tailored for [i]Zero Punctuation[/i] fans. The extremely basic premise and short runtime offer little draw on their own, but the knowledge of being able to enter a playable realm of Yahtzee's making all the while supporting the creator himself and enjoying some otherwise forgotten content should make this a gratifying purchase for fans. And for the non-fans, it can serve as a nice introduction too! [i]Zero Punctuation: Hatfall - Hatters Gonna Hat Edition[/i] gets a B-.

Welcome to opposite day, where gamers all come together to review a game made by a well known game reviewer! The sun will be cold, pizza is a weight loss food, and I'm considered funny. Everything is topsy-turvy... right up until the end of this paragraph.
Oh, well that was short lived. Hatfall, then...
I am torn between my thoughts. On the one hand, it's a simple little mobile game that is squatting on Steam with the big boys. On the other hand, I've sunk over 6 hours of my life into this little mobile game. If I didn't like it, I'd have ♥♥♥♥♥♥ off before even hitting 30 minutes. Am I biased because I just like Zero Punctuation? The answer is almost certainly, nearly, entirely, not-unlikely to maybe be: Yes?
Okay, what is Hatfall? It is a game where you put on hats. That was simple. So, I spent 6 hours trying on hats? "Ooh, the writer at Overlord Arcade must have a lot of free time on his hands." crow the users at Steam. Well, yes and no... you see, it's got depth in the same way a clicker game has depth. Once you've put on a metric ♥♥♥♥-ton of hats, falling from the sky like a haberdasher's airplane exploded mid-delivery, then you enter the 2nd half of the game... which is exactly the same, but now there is a big hat monster in the sky. After that, there's some additional whatnot available, but I'm not feeling spoiler-y, and then, wallop... back to square one you go!
Game play is extremely straight forward. There are X amount of characters on the screen, and you don't know which one you are. Sometimes it's you and an imp, which look completely different. Sometimes it's you and another similar lady/fella, but they look just different enough to stand out. the 3rd type of character looks just like you, and half the time will mimic you movement so damn closely, that you're guess will be a 50/50 as to whether you're following the right chump, as you scan the screen like a coke fiend, looking for ticks and tells. Once you've nailed down who you are, be under the hat when it falls. Simple enough, yeah?
It's simple when there's just hats, but sometimes, you've got to dodge signs, cars, poles, and anvils. Each thin also plummeting down, ensuring that that previously mentioned haberdasher really branched out at some point, obviously using a cargo plane the size of the moon. Even then, sometimes you will call down the wrath of a local wizard, by the mere offense of putting on his magical hat. I kind of figured he would be grateful to not have his big brimmy boy slapped down in the mud, but there you go. Wizard mad, and coin flip on how ♥♥♥♥♥♥ you are on the next screen. There are about... 3-4 zany modifiers that can apply for these, which run the gamut of being either hardly a nuisance or run-ruiningly cheap.
I think what will keep players glued are the little gifts you unlock as you go on. No doubt you've seen pics of that big anime eyed trilby, if you've so much as glanced at the store page. After a handful of hats collected, you'll be rewarded with a gift, and these range from cosmetic only, to little bonus mini-games that will show of some of the quirkier bits of content.
On the whole, do I recommend Hatfall? I think the better question is do you like Zero Punctuation? If the answer is yes, then this is more ZP style and humor. There's a game in here as well, and the game is fun enough. Just remember that it's a mobile game, and you'll be equally as satisfied with that level of expectation. I, for one, really like ZP and enjoyed this game enough to drop about 6 and a half hours on it. I've gotten close to 100%-ing the thing, so take that as a measure of how deep the content will go, I suppose. Bought this a while back because Yahtzee is my favorite game reviewer. Sadly I can't say I enjoyed this nearly as much. The jokes are funny but the novelty does wear off after a few hours.

Agora sobre o jogo eu fiquei bastante surpreso ao testar o game por ter achado bastante divertido e até dei uma certa viciada nas primeiras horas, pois embora seus mini games seja digamos 'toscos' e bem simples, acabou que eu viciei e inclusive até pensei em platinar o game, no entanto depois de um certo tempo ele se torna bastante repetitivo e no meu caso eu enjoei e deixei o game de lado. Então nesse caso vale a pena dar uma olhada pois pode ser que você curta também.

Olha depende. O game tem uma proposta... Do you like Yahtzee Croshaw? His early work was a little too much inspired by Lucasarts for my tastes, but when Consuming Shadow came out in '15, I think he really came into his own, commercially and artistically. The whole game has a clear, crisp sense of dread, and a new sheen of consummate insanity that really gives the game a big boost. He's been compared to TotalBiscuit, but I think Yahtzee has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.

I'm only giving this a mild thumbs up, It's more a meh, there was only a few truly funny moments in the game and the main core of the game dragged on way to long as is.
The core gameplay loop (catching falling hats) is terribly boring and pretty random.
The occasional minigame is where the true fun lies, but it´s a frustrating grind of hat catching before you get to play it. I honestly had way more fun with his games that he offers for free on his youtube channel.
Buy if you really like catching falling objects or you want to support Yahtzee.

This is a really stupid game.
I love it.
One of the funniest games I've ever played from one of the funniest web shows, "Hatfall" has a lot of strong points to offer players:
- Funny dialogue.
- The look on your face when you get suckered into getting squashed by anything that isn't a hat during normal gameplay.
- Gifts that come every 25 hats collected to ensure the player doesn't get bored.
- Funny minigames and screen-changing gimmicks via the Gifts.
- Unlockable characters; they're not playable but meant for good visual variety and to help [i]just a little[/i] to tell the player apart from the other noobs running around aimlessly with the player.
- An angry Wizard that makes the next round harder but rewarding if you get the hat because after a Game Over, you'll get a special bonus from the Wizard for the next run.
- An actual antagonist in the form of a manipulating living ball of hats named Rondo Hat-Ton.
- A global leaderboard that shows whose collected the most hats EVER; this is what would make the game worth playing for literally the rest of your life if you were that crazy enough to do that.
- Funny Steam Achievements; some of them are hard to get but since they're based off collecting, you'll get them and a Perfect Game for your Steam profile eventually.
- Steam Trading Cards for decent-looking Profile Badges, profile backgrounds and emoticons.
However, now that I finally have all the Achievements and completed the game, there's a few things about it I'm concerned about:
- Once every Alter Ego character is bought, all the player can do is turn them on or off to have them appear in gameplay. But what of the Hat Reserve? What am I supposed to do with all the Hats I have from normal gameplay and minigames? Not being able to use them for anything makes the minigames and Bonus Hats from Wizard Boons useless. What I'd like to see is have the Shop include a few more Alter Ego characters (you have plenty more ideas for that, Yahtzee) and more importantly, the Wizard's Stand added so that the player can purchase certain Power-Up cards to help out for gameplay. I'd like to make it into the Global Leaderboard's top 10 players someday and purchasing plenty of Extra Lives and Double Hat cards for next games will definitely come in handy to make the score go faster.
- More Wizard Boon cards for the bonuses and Store: the Wizard's cards are based off Major Arcana Tarot cards; there's 22 Major Arcana but Yahtzee only used 7 of them. I have some of my own ideas that could make the missing Major Arcana worth having around, if Yahtzee's willing to listen...
- It's obvious that "The Emperor's New Upgrade" Gift does nothing. It's also a bit annoying that Rondo Hat-Ton has to appear every 1500 Hats collected (including Bonus Hats). So what if you wanted to not bother with having Rondo around, not even in the background? I think that after beating Rondo the first time, "The Emperor's New Upgrade" could turn into an "Anti-Rondo Protection Device"; that way, Rondo won't appear at all as long as this Gift is active.
- The hats are always the same during normal gameplay; Yahtzee's fedora or the Wizard's hat. I feel there should be DLC content for the Store that includes various other hats, masks, wigs and cosmetics shown in the Zero Punctuation series for purchasing, such as Mario's cap and stache, the Assassin's Creed cowl, Master Chief's helmet, etc; adding success messages to corresponding headwear (and for Rondo) would also be good for characterization. Such a concept for headwear variety will undoubtedly make it all the more worthwhile for ongoing gameplay and I hope this could be taken into future consideration. Or at least use these headwear for more Alter Egos, perhaps; that might be a better idea, actually...
- As much as I like the tune played during normal gameplay, one can take so much of it. Perhaps a few more tracks could be added and played randomly from game to game for the sake of variety. Such tunes could be purchased first at the Store and turned on or off, like how it would work in Super Smash Bros. games in terms of being able to select what tunes would be heard more often for corresponding stages, know what I mean?
- Most importantly, BARELY ANYONE PLAYS THIS GAME ANYMORE. Not only could my ideas mentioned above prove useful to catch people's interest but also advertising Hatfall more often, too. Yahtzee, you have your videos, you've got the access of "The Escapist" website; I think you can come up with something to get your game back in business, to which I hope you will someday.
But all in all, Hatfall is a game worth playing, so thank you Mr. Croshaw for this gem.

Crappy meme type game
I have played 18 minutes of this game. And it is my new favorite time waster from my favorite critic! HATS FOR ALL!!!
Zero Punctuation: Hatfall is a game made by Yahtzee, better known as Zero Punctuation, a man who has made his name creating video reviews of games.
The story, if it can be called a story, revolves around collecting hats and saving the world. Nothing deep or complex, but the interludes are entertaining enough to keep you amused for a few hours, or at least until you have saved the world for the first time.
Controlling your character can be a little tricky – often, it feels like you’re ice skating (even worse during certain wizard encounters, when the floor is actually wet). It can also be challenging to spot your own character once the screen starts filling up with NPCs – in a good way – as this adds some level of challenge.
The game is basically about catching hats and having a laugh. You’ll likely enjoy your time, but it is unlikely this will keep you entertained for the long haul.
Recommended for Zero Punctuation fans, for those looking for a laugh, and for people with hat fetishes.
Played on Windows 10 Pro x64 without any issues.
A nice litle distraction, it's fun for 30~45 minutes at a time.
I played this way to long, way to often with way too much joy. My girlfriend just likes to watch me fail at stage five or six. And then again. And again. And ... really, its fun. With hats. And tires. And wizards. And more hats. Did I mention hats?

This is a very interesting game but it's also mega repetitive

90% of the game is catching hats and it does get repetitive especially since all the game can do to add challenge is blind and comfuse you by filling the screen with distractions. Basicly it feels like RNG wether I get the hat or not after the first few levels
The minigames are great but honestly it takes to long to get to them and if you messup or just wanna do it again you have to unlock it again and some minigames require 2 prizes to activate
You can buy extra skins to appear in game along side you now you'd think this would decrease the amount of people on screen that look just like you but nope
So this game is ok I'd reccomend it if you like a good laugh I guess

Among time-wasters, this is one of the good ones. Simple premise, great humor, and lots of diverting mini-games make this game stand out in Steam.
The only thing I'll say about the negative of this game is that it can feel very grindy, especially when trying to get most of the achievements. But for this type of game, I suppose it's understandable.

Is this game fun? It can be in short bursts..
Is it repetitive after the first few hours? Yeah
But play it in breaks and it’s not bad yeah it’s a mobile game ported to pc but it’s simple and elegant in its jokes and mini games it’s what I think a 0 punctuation game would be like! Would love more diversity but for a couple of quid it’s not bad and it supports Yatzee so yeah I’d recommend it. It’s damn well made me laugh and smile when I needed to and is better than cod bloops 2 or sniper elite me2.... I’m a fan just making references

This game started off really fun and funny... but those last few achievements got quite tedious and annoying.
Still, its worth a laugh.

A simple, heartfelt game about the repeated transfiguration of a non-Yahtzee entity into Yahtzee. What more can be said? It has fast-paced, repetitive gameplay occasionally broken up by little additions or distractions which in and of themselves get old eventually. It has some amusing writing and a fair bit of filler. It makes me smile when I miss a hat and hear Yahtzee going "Wronnngg!", but that also makes me wonder why his voice and intonation -part of the core of Zero Punctuation, arguably more important than the distinctive visuals and nearly as important as the clever writing- would be featured so little in a game wearing the ZP label. Feels like a missed opportunity.
Overall, it's a bit of fun for an hour here and there, but not the best value for money even at a relatively low price point. If you're a big fan of Zero Punctuation... I'd frankly recommend you just watch more of that.

What can I say? If you're a huge fan of Zero Punctuation and its humour, this is a fun little game. Cheap and basic. You collect hats in various mini-game type segments. Also small easter eggs and fun side content.

A game which starts out as extremely simple but frequently mixes up the formula with all kinds of additional mechanics and features, Hatfall has some of the best absurdist comedy writing i think i may have ever seen. It's snappy and quick enough to never get dull, with a straight-forward but very effective central mechanic. Plus, it contains possibly my favourite line of dialogue from anything ever: [spoiler]"Would you like to go on a date with me?" "A date? Like what a girlfriend does?" "No, like what an avocado does, you stupid bint!".[/spoiler] Just sublime. So, overall, 18 hats out of 10, would definitely [spoiler]stone the adulterers, praise Rondo.[/spoiler]
You could say this game [i]hat[/i] me [i]cap[/i]tivated with its range of secrets to be found and Yahtzee's signature writing.
