WWE 2K24 and the rest of the 2k series has some mild controversy regarding its practices and business model, but honestly, 2k24 is one of those games with such an overwhelmingly extreme amount of content that it is hard to say you are not getting what your money is worth. I only get these games exclusively for the MyRise campaigns and I am far from disappointed with 24's outing.
The Male MyRise of 24 is honestly the typical romp that you know the studio and the WWE wanted to be the one that everyone played and it is ironically, a great misfortune that this is usually the only one people play. Largely because it is far shorter and far less dynamic than its female counterpart. Overall, it is far from bad, but insanely typical of a wrestling affair.
Clearly, they listened to the criticisms of 23 and how it was obnoxious how often the male protagonist of MyRise was constantly being humiliated and subverted in an overly long arc. Not to mention, Slade's character switch was so jarring and schizophrenic, his cameo in 24 is a direct reference to this. The meta commentary of MrRise perhaps has never been stronger. It is a joy to see though, for those that went through 23's The Lock storyline with a goofy grin the entire time like myself.
24's male MyRise has you gaining every title possible and sizing yourself up against the likes of which of infamous Head of the Table, Roman Reigns and perhaps the most evil and devious villain in any video game: Logan Paul.
I have to say, my era was definitely the Attitude era and Ruthless Aggression, so I am kind of lost on the more modern motions of the WWE but I deeply appreciate with the new generation continually brings to the table. 2k24 did a great job of highlighting their modern talent, even though this PG-13, Roman Reigns centric, post-Super Cena era has a lot of purists upset. This game introduced me to the Imperium stable, which I already am a big fan of. A bunch of dorky Anglo Saxons and an Italian in a group with THAT name honestly took some balls.
Dominic Mysterio and Rhea Ripley have some prominence in both campaigns to great effect. This hilarious dynamic is one of the best parts of the modern roster and it is impossible to hate it. Overall, the trademark 2k style of humour and use of original characters and fictional indie branding is alive and well, complete with hyper meta stuff.
Now, where the game really shines, is the female MyRise campaign. It is fairly longer and at times, to a fault. But overall, it is far more interesting. Once again, a central theme from 23 carries over with the prevalence of indie promotions and how important they are to the world or wrestling. It is kind of remarkable how much lipservice the WWE pays to this fact, but not without a few underhanded jabs at it all around too.
Nowadays, I mostly stick with STARDOM's all female Joshi Japanese wrestling. The DIVA era of wrestling is long over (even though Trish and Stacey are always welcome additions to modern stables), the era of women in wrestling as athletes is still here and the game is still very proud of the retirement of the DIVA era and title in favour of the ladies being fellow superstars. Overall, I think the girls just bring more of the Attitude-era Edge the modern male roster missing at times. Bigger personalities, more crude rivalries and a lot more strong-style and high flyers, rather than the somewhat dull show of seeing strikers and technicians constantly duking it out.
The female campaign plays into this strength so much, you can tell the developers had a lot more fun with a more dynamic and branching storyline, which is far from just an escapist power fantasy. This MyRise campaign brings us through multiple story arcs, personas and gimmicks and generally, a huge variety of matches with a far better display of mechanics. It really shows the chops of the engine, while showcasing a lot more of the female wrestlers of this modern era, having more named and voiced appearances then the male roster bothered to.
It was also a good choice to let this campaign to be the hardcore one, allowing for less than typical gameplay and scenarios with some fun choices. You aren't running around as the champ, having cookie-cutter, generic match defenses, you really are having some strong arcs and rivalries form, that cultivate near the end in surprising ways. While not as dynamic and multiple choice as it offers itself to be initially, this is by far one of the best campaigns in the 2K series and it seems that everyone agrees it is.
It is also by far the most kayfabe, the most true to WWE's writing style and has a lot of the Attitude era spirit hidden inbetween that go beyond just nostalgia baiting.
Psycho Sally is either hated or loved. Personally, I honestly wish we could have kept our create-a-wrestler as a villain and perhaps, the only way to improve on an already long and ambitious campaign for a game of this sort, would be to allow us to switch to Sally to defeat ourselves. I honestly was dead sure this was the direction the game was going to take us and was surprised when it was not.
Sally is a blast, well acted and well portrayed in mocap, with a very fun moveset and a surprisingly memorable appearance albeit its intentional indie-coded cheesieness. I thoroughly enjoyed her sections the most and it was a great reprieve from playing as your character all the time.
My only genuine complaint is that the female MyRise campaign is about 30% longer than the male one and about 20% longer than it should be overall. The pacing becomes obnoxious by the end, then concludes a bit too quickly after wrapping up so many arcs, only for the most important one to be solved with a cutscene or two, mostly. But overall, I think it was fantastic and fun, as well as extremely funny, being carried by the charm of the superstars but also 2K's original characters.
The only downside to the game truly is the fact that some parts of the story overstay their welcome by a handful of matches and some of the gimmick matches or condition-based winstates can be more unfun than enjoyable, bringing the pace to halt. But still, that did not stop me from getting 12 hour sessions in.
I am a bit sad to see Attitude era wrestlers being censored too. Things such as "Suck it" and "Kiss my Ass" being censored on clothing is one thing, but its absurd seeing Stone Cold Steve Austin, not giving people the Middle Finger or even having it in his taunts. I can understand them not having him bashing beer cans and chugging them, but seriously, no middle fingers? For Stone Cold?
But yeah, its otherwise great and man, do I wish Psycho Sally was a real performer.

WWE 2K24 feels like a big improvement and a lot of fun for wrestling fans.
The gameplay is smoother, the roster is huge, and the new modes add more variety than previous games. The 40 Years of WrestleMania showcase is especially great for fans of classic WWE moments.
Matches feel more dynamic, and there’s plenty of content whether you enjoy career mode, universe mode, or just jumping into quick matches.
Overall, it’s a solid wrestling game with lots to do.
7/10 — great for both casual players and long-time WWE fans.

I have always been a WWE fan, but when it comes to 2K games, I hated how they always handle their products. They are shutting down the servers of this game and now I am considering just pirating the rest of the 2K games; specifically WWE series. Honestly I am lucky this was on sale when I got it, but this is a bs move they are pulling, so I am not supporting this company no longer.
If you love the 2K company, get it while on sale or just pirate it, it is not worth it since they are also removing the DLC (Thank god I didn't went through it)

La verdad es que WWE 2K24 me ha gustado muchísimo. Se nota que han mejorado bastante respecto a otros años. El gameplay se siente más fluido y los combates son más realistas, pero sin perder ese toque divertido y exagerado típico de la WWE.
El modo Showcase está muy bien hecho, sobre todo si te gusta la historia de WrestleMania. Revivir combates clásicos está guapísimo. Además, hay muchísimos luchadores y tipos de combate, así que no se hace repetitivo.
Lo que más me gusta es jugar Royal Rumble o combates extremos, porque siempre pasan cosas locas. También el modo carrera engancha bastante si te gusta crear tu propio luchador.
En general, para mí es uno de los mejores WWE de los últimos años. Si te gusta el wrestling, este vale totalmente la pena.

This game is a big downgrade when compare to 2K14 as both this game and 2K14 have WrestleMania mode, the difference here is there are less matches and arenas in 40 Years of WrestleMania compare to 2K14 with 30 Years of WrestleMania where there was more iconic matches in each WrestleMania Arena in 2K14.
The Objectives in 30 Years of WrestleMania where not complicated to follow in 2K14 compare to this game's 40 Years of WrestleMania Objectives which gets frustrating to follow.
The Cutscenes in this game heavily uses so much of Copyrighted footage where Content Creators have to remove Cutscenes because of WWE copyright strikes people for using their footage while 2K14 never used any Copyright Footage for 30 Years of WrestleMania as is uses in game Cutscenes and has Commentary which this game doesn't have Commentary in 40 Years of WrestleMania.
The Game gets delisted less then 2 years after being released 2K wants more money for the newest game.

Mit zahlreichen Spielmodi, Einzel- und Tag-Team Matches bis hin zum Royal Rumble lassen sich zahlreiche von der Mattscheibe bekannte Matches nachspielen. Und das in recht guter Qualität, einem recht umfangreichen Roster und einer großen Auswahl an Moves. Man kann aber auch als einfacher selbsterstellter No-Name Wrestler beginnen und sich Schritt für Schritt bis zum Titel kämpfen.
"WWE 2K24" knüpft in zahlreichen Aspekten deutlich am Vorgänger an. Es setzt auf kleine, aber durchaus sinnvolle Verbesserungen. Besonders augenfällig ist, daß die Performance zugelegt hat. Es gibt manchmal immer noch kleine Ruckler oder kurze Slow-Motion Momente, aber deutlich weniger als früher. Im Großen und Ganzen läuft das Spiel merklich flüssiger als früher. Grafisch und spielmechanisch gab es ein paar kleine Verbesserungen.
Aber: wichtig ist im Ring. Und da bietet das Spiel ein abwechslungsreiches Gameplay. Durch die zahlreichen Moves ist man immer wieder in neuen Kampfsituationen. Allein schon dadurch wo man steht, sind unterschiedliche Aktionen möglich. Außerhalb des Rings stehen andere Moves zur Verfügung als im Ring. An den Seilen können wir anders agieren, ebenso in den Ecken, in denen wir den Gegner auch zum Beispiel aufs oberste Seil heben und von da aus dann einen Suplex machen können. Je nachdem wo sich der Gegner befindet oder auch in welchem Zustand er ist ändern sich die Aktionsmöglichkeiten. Liegt er im Ring sind meist einige Submission-Holds möglich.
Nach einigen guten Moves können wir einen speziellen Signature-Move oder auch einen Finisher platzieren. Und natürlich bestimmt die Grundfrage welchen Wrestler wir überhaupt steuern wollen, welche Moves und Taunts überhaupt verwendet werden. Die Matches machen Spaß, sind in der Regel auch durchaus spannend und bieten bei höheren Schwierigkeitsgraden auch gerne mal ein unterhaltsames Hin und Her.
Die Karriere wurde entschlackt. Es gibt nicht mehr so viele grindige Filler-Matches, bis wir wieder etwas in der Karriere erleben oder entscheiden können. Es gibt zahlreiche Werte, die in der Karriere auch weiter aufgewertet werden können. Es macht insgesamt Spaß, seine eigenen Kämpfer während ihres Aufstiegs zu begleiten.
Die anderen Spielmodi bieten durchaus genügend Abwechslung. Ob Royal Rumble oder Titelkampf, vieles ist möglich. Auch die Anzahl an weiblichen Wrestlern ist recht groß und wenn wir uns selber noch Kämpfer dazu bauen wollen, können wir das jederzeit im umfangreichen Editor oder wir laden uns einfach von anderen Usern erstellte Wrestler herunter, die teils richtig professionell gelungen sind.
Der Story-Modus, durch den wir auch ein paar Dinge freischalten können, konzentriert sich diesesmal auf ikonische Matches der „Wrestlemania“- Historie, bis hin zu Hulk Hogan gegen Andre The Giant. Durch diese Thematik steuern wir dankenswerterweise im Story-Modus immer wieder andere Wrestler und nicht mehr, wie früher oft, immer wieder denselben.
Die Grafik ist in Ordnung, wenn man auch der Engine inzwischen das Alter ein wenig ansieht. Die Animationen sind meist realistisch, manchmal sind sie etwas abgehackt, wenn sie von einem Moves zum Nächsten springen.
Auch die Musik und die Sounds sind auf hohem Niveau. Die Wrestler haben in der Regel ihre richtige Einlaufmusik. Die Kampfsounds sind kraftvoll und effektgetrimmt.
"WWE 2K24" schafft es, daß auch Kämpfe mit mehreren Wrestlern - zumindest meist - recht ruckelfrei laufen. Wenn es auch noch nicht ideal ist, ist es auf jeden Fall schon deutlich besser.
"WWE 2K24" ist der bis dahin beste Vertreter der Serie. Das Game ist beileibe nicht fehlerfrei, hat zudem auch einige sehr unnötige DLCs, aber die stetigen Verbesserungen haben ein recht rundes Gesamtpaket ergeben, dessen Performance meist in Ordnung geht.

While nothing comes close to the greatness that is 2K19, 2K24 definitely improves on the engine introduces in 2K22 to some extent. If you're considering this compared to an older 2K, it has a pretty solid community creations library, a solid roster, and a good showcase mode. The game still feels relatively unpolished though and I think 2K should release biannually over annual releases where the fix little to nothing and it feels more like an update. I overall recommend this one but I'd still play 2K19 or 2K22 over this. Can't say I give a damn about the MyFaction or GM modes though. 2K GIVE UNIVERSE MODE THE LOVE IT DESERVES

You don't get the full game with purchase. I hate the current business model of the 2K WWE games these days. I'm not buying any further WWE 2K games until they allow us to just have a full dang game. And with it being a couple of years old now, they just give up on providing even paid items. The DLC is gone now. It was over-priced, the MyFaction mode is tedious or just another cash grab. I hate the card packs where it's random "oh i might get a cool wrestler". Even the promotional locker freebie codes expire, WTF. Not giving you any more of my dollarydoos, 2k. Thanks for ruining wrestling video games.

Me gusta este juego porque tiene una gran cantidad de luchadores sobre todo los de la epoca del 2006 hasta el 2011 ,me gusta su jugabilidad,sus graficos el juego va en camino sin embargo todavia le falta algunos detalles importantes como las luchas intergenero,llaves especiales al subir las escaleras y otros puntos pequeños pero es un gran juego y vale totalmente la pena.

It was a decent installment. Nice new match types. The Introduction of persona cards was great. The Women's MyRise was very good. The WrestleMania 39 Arena is amazing & the reintroduction of Day & Night WrestleMania arenas was brilliant.
However, WWE 2K continues to be a greedy & lazy franchise. Refusal to fix bugs that crash the game or make the experience less enjoyable, a Showcase mode which is blurred to all hell, A boring Men's MyRise, MyFaction's digusting gambling chances.
NEVER BUY A WWE 2K GAME unless you are 1. A Wrestling Content Creator or 2. A DIE HARD WRESTLING FAN

Really like this game however. Showcase mode is awful, imo the cutscenes should be in game. Specially since they literally have to blur people out constantly. Hate how some really cool attires and different versions of wrestlers are locked behind my faction...i have no intention of grinding that, why not just give us the option to unlock them in other modes

雖然對然2K的貪婪依舊嗤之以鼻，還是懷念THQ與Yuke's的時代，無論電視節目或是遊戲，那個時代是WWE的黃金時期，也是所有WWE迷心中最美好的時代。EA跟UBISOFT則是直接打入冷宮永不錄用，2K毫無疑問的也即將加入抵制的行列了！但要不是對WWE還抱有懷念與熱情以及對童年的補票，而且遊戲目前還是被他們壟斷的狀態，我他奶的才不做這冤大頭，可惜了這些豐富我童年的遊戲大廠。撇除以上對遊戲公司的抱怨，2K做的WWE對我個人來說，操作上確實是簡單很多，很直覺，好過以前PS時代玩到後來放棄治療都是靠感覺亂按到贏的，教學也很好上手。再來就是裡面的選手在每年的更新中，我漸漸的不認識新選手新賽事了，現在都是藉由高畫質在懷年當年的選手以及重現當時每天守在電視前看著他們出場的那種興奮~最後我想說的是還我KELLY KELLY、EDGE、MORRISON跟HARDY BOYZ這些老選手啊！！！算我求你了2K~為了他們幾個出DLC我甘願被盤~但想到很多角色被鎖在噁心的MYFACTION還是很不爽！

ive played both storys and neither is good. the mans story is basicly "hey youve been champ for 2 years and defeated kane, woods, rollins and more but reigns gave it to you so your not a true champ". The womans story just makes no sense. the growed never changes even if people tell you theyll be there. a lot of moves are the same but with other names just do say this 2k game has the most moves to choose.
