Considering this game is made bay a small team, I have 2 say they've done such a GREAT JOB, man! The sound - I give 8/10, graphs: 8/10, playability: 10/10, immersiveness: 10/10. Also the game is pretty hard (I died more times than I expected), there are some very attractive secrets waiting to be discovered and challenging bosses to defeat. The interface, map, gear & spells upgrade system is very easy and intuitive so the learning curve is fast. I can easily compare this game with the new Painkiller, and I think it's considerably better. Regarding system reqs, it runs smoothly on my old i74790k, 16Gb, RTX 2060 6Gb, Verdict: It's a must have FPS.
Very fun game, has a bit of a problem with too much running around but so far I'm in the 3rd area and it keeps getting cooler. Kinda hard also! Mostly because of stamina management and how powerful the stamina costing dash is. Pay attention to the compass showing where enemies are and take them on carefully.

Something about the progression has me constantly hooked and wanting to unlock more weapons and secrets. Very fun. Having a nice time.
I really wanted to love this game. I already love the art style and setting but after playing it for a while I don't feel a strong desire to return to it. I'm not sure what it is but the progression just isn't grabbing me and the actual combat feels a little janky compared to popular souls titles it seems to want to emulate.
Maybe if there were less rouge-like elements and a stronger meta progression it might be closer to what I'm looking for, and I do think there's a lack of coherency between the in-match rougelite progression and hub world meta progression.
All in all pretty good but maybe too vast in its execution.
Witchfire est une excellente surprise, surtout si vous aimez les FPS exigeants avec une vraie identité. Le jeu brille clairement par son ambiance : sombre, mystique, avec une direction artistique très marquée qui donne immédiatement le ton. On sent une vraie cohérence dans l’univers.
Côté gameplay, c’est du très solide. Les sensations de tir sont particulièrement réussies : les armes ont du poids, du punch, et chaque affrontement demande un minimum de réflexion. On est loin d’un simple shooter bourrin. Il y a une vraie dimension tactique, notamment avec la gestion des pouvoirs et du positionnement.
La difficulté fait partie intégrante de l’expérience. Le jeu peut être punitif, parfois frustrant, mais rarement injuste. Chaque erreur se paie, ce qui rend les réussites d’autant plus satisfaisantes.
En revanche, tout n’est pas parfait. Le contenu reste encore un peu limité (accès anticipé oblige), et la progression peut sembler répétitive sur la durée. On tourne vite dans les mêmes zones avec des objectifs similaires, ce qui peut donner une impression de grind.
L'optimisation est très bonne, j'ai toujours plus de 144fps, sans DLSS sur un 32:9, malgré quelques crashs.

Game slaps. I'm not, in general, a fan of FPS games, but Witchfire is an exception.
Super fun with lots of different playstyles that are all more or less viable. Devs rock and are constantly making updates, it's great to see this on Steam after only having it on Epic.
This is only about 10hours of playtime but i got to difficulty 3 in that time and feel I can speak on my experience so far, if not the whole game.
I really wanted to like this game; heavy dark souls/bloodborne aesthetic but in a first person, rogue-like, magic power, stylized guns, gameplay package but I left feeling pretty underwhelmed.
The main issues I have with this game are the stage structure, the gun balance, and the feel of the powers.
The stages/levels are one big open level that you choose to spawn in out of about 5 with increasing difficulty, but its not a typical rogue like where you do the easiest stage, clear it, then go to the harder one and keep going till you die and try again: you just pick one of the stages and kinda clear out areas of enemies that are marked on the map and get the same generic witch fire currency from all of them. This might be alright if there were really cool enemy designs that you are fighting but all of the regular enemies kinda boil down to melee or ranged, with some shield guys later. You do technically get perks when you clear each area but most of these perks are so minor or are just generic stat bumps that you really wont feel much different. Now there are bosses on some of these levels and some of them are alright but it really gets boring clearing out the regular dudes pretty quick.
Now if the levels and enemies are kinda meh, that can be alleviated with cool guns and powers right?
Well the guns here are aesthetically very cool and even between weapons of the same type, they feel and look mostly unique.
The big issue is that so far, every weapon that isnt a shotgun or automatic rifle has felt really ass in comparison. The shotguns are absolutely cracked in mid to close range to the point that it doesnt even make sense to try and use anything else while automatic rifles are good enough to play with and have some fun, but the almost 10 non shotgun/non auto rifle weapons I have so far are so far behind that its almost laughable. Everything feels like a super bullet sponge with the other weapons. Well this might be fixed with going for headshots? The revolvers and bolt action rifles I have tried have maybe only a 20% bonus to headshots so it really just makes the most sense to spray for the body with the autos or shotguns. There is also a steeeeeeeep damage falloff in this game which makes you want to stay within the shotgun range anyways and keep using that. So despite thinking alot of the guns look cool, they feel pretty bad to use.
Powers maybe?
Well the powers in this game are on a cooldown-kill/damage based system with both heavy and light spells and have very mixed efficacy but I honestly dont think thats their big downfall.
With you having to wait a while in between spell uses, you are anticipating that they are big and powerful and some of them honestly are but they dont feel like they are. The fireballs are the perfect example for me so far: fire out 3 fireballs that (at first) will each go to a different target and actually do a good chunk of damage on each but the character animation, sound effects, and impact animation all feel so underwhelming. Instead of feeling like you are casting a grand spell that blows up your foes, turning them to ash, it feels like your character is reluctantly handing their friend $5 and the impact on the enemies is like a tiny fire being blown out.
It kinda ruins the fun of the spells.
Overall I dont hate this game, I dont even think I would call it bad. I just felt like I was going through the motions while playing after the initial learning period and dont really have a desire to play more.
I may check back on it in a year or 2 and see if they change some of this but as of now, I wouldnt buy it again.

I appreciate the fresh perspective and the intricate combination of mechanics to yield a very approachable yet tough game with beautiful graphics, great atmosphere and proper audio.

Nicht wegen des exzellenten Gunplays, nicht wegen der wunderschönen Grafik, nicht wegen der großartig gestalteten Maps, nicht wegen der motivierenden Schwierigkeit und auch nicht wegen der abwechslungsreichen Waffen und Fähigkeiten.
Ich hasse es, weil ich all das allein erleben muss. Bei jeder Expedition wünsche ich mir, es mit jemandem zusammen spielen zu können.
Dieses Spiel ist genau die Art von Extraction Shooter, die ich mir wünsche: knallhartes, schnelles Gameplay – ohne diese CoD-Schwitzer, die einem im PvP den Spaß verderben. Es ist ein grandioses Spiel mit sehr guter Performance und das schon im Early Access.
Die Entwickler arbeiten nah an den Wünschen der Spieler und setzen gutes Feedback direkt um. Ich wünschte nur, ich könnte es im Coop erleben.

Так же прикольно то, что повышаешь гносис и возвращаешься на предыдущие локи и находишь что-то новое. Надеюсь игру продолжат развивать, сначала в ЕГС давно игру купил, но была сыровата, сейчас прям хорошо!

Но что на мой взгляд делает игру выдающейся - ее способность генерировать кризисные ситуации, игра накладывает механика спавна\ошибок игрока и влияет на сражения в реальном времени.
Для любителей не линейно растущих сложностей, рваного темпа без ПВП - игра топ.
И это я не говорю о стыке жанров рогалика, шутера, экстракшена, билдостроения в густой атмосфере борьбы церковника с ересью на фоне гиперболизированной готической? венецианской? архитектуры, кто шарит прошу правки))

This game is fantastic. It's different every time you play. The weapons are interesting, the magic is fascinating, and it's challenging. I can't get enough of it.
This game is sick.
The hooks are dull and flimsy on this one and there is nothing that really pulls me in. First person souls-like with guns is how I would describe it.
Keep away from melee enemies but not too far otherwise damage fall off a cliff unless you have a sniper.
Kill ranged enemies quick or you'll end up with no health potions.
The roguelite element of beating zones and collecting a bonus gets old fast.
The guns are mostly nothing special even with their upgrades.
The game is quite pretty but its game loop is dull. Go buy something with more meat
I bought this on sale for 40AUD and I feel ripped off. I reckon its graphics are what makes the game so expensive, it certainly isn't because its good.
Only 3 hours in and I can already say this game is a certified PIMP!
Really, really good game. Guns feel excellent: crunchy, visceral impact. Good progression. Cool setting (if a little bleak). Thoroughly recommended. My only criticism is that I think the in-run levelling could be a little more exciting. The buffs you are get are not especially exciting.
Witchfire is the game we didn't know we needed. It is Diablo + Dark Souls incarnated anew as an FPS game with RPG and Roguelite elements. Visuals are stunning, gameplay is top notch and optimization is butter smooth. It is very unique and successful in its own regard and nothing like you've ever played before. Huge thumbs up.
A jogabilidade e as armas do jogo são até legais, mas o resto é bem chato.
você tem algumas armas legais pra usar mas todas elas, exceto o sniper, funcionam com um range muito curto, então não tem porque você usar uma que não seja metralhadora que tem mais DPS e munição. Outra coisa é que as armas nunca melhoram o dano, você literalmente não tem como melhorar o dano das armas, elas só destrancam uma habilidade que não muda muita coisa, já que o único e melhor jeito de matar tudo no jogo é atirando na cara.
O jogo parece ter umas magias maneiras mas quando tu vai jogar não é bem assim, você só tem magia leve e magia pesada e elas tem um cooldown muito longo, até a leve, que te faz ficar segurando elas para usar contra monstros mais fortes, mas a leve também não faz muita coisa contra os monstros mais fortes...
outra questão é a progressão, o jogo funciona com as almas estilo dark souls, cada nível que você sobe te dá uma quantia de status tão merda que tu questiona até se mudou algo... EX:
Quando você upa vida o jogo te dá 1 mísero HP, você começa com 90
quando você upa vigor o jogo também te dá só 1 ponto
você tem 3 elixires disponíveis no início de cada missão e eles curam uma quantia muito merda de vida e curam muito devagar, você tem um level up que pode aumentar o quanto ele recupera mas cada ponto só aumenta entre 1 e 3%...
Progrediu no jogo e acha que tá mais forte? Agora você tem que fazer a Gnosis, que deixa todos os mapas do jogo mais difíceis em troca de destrancar algumas coisas...
O jogo parece que te odeia e não quer que você fique forte, mesmo você progredindo no jogo você nunca fica realmente forte e o jogo introduz inimigos cada vez mais chatos e com cada vez mais HP pra te encher o saco
PROS:
* The atmosphere is excellent and really pulls you in.
* Runs are quick, usually around 10 minutes per map, which makes it easy to jump in and play.
* Combat is FAST, something akin to Doom in terms of pacing and intensity.
CONS:
* The per-run Arcane boosts feel far too random and often not impactful enough to matter.
* Close-combat enemies will absolutely destroy you. It doesn't feel balanced, they outrun you, out dodge you, out damage you, and tear through your health before you can react.
* Madness at higher Gnosis levels becomes frustrating rather than challenging. Losing all your health in seconds because you were barely out of cover while a melee enemy deletes your run feels excessive.
As an indie title, the game is alright overall. The mix of Dark Souls-style difficulty and extraction shooter mechanics is a neat concept. The strong Catholic themes are well-placed and really enhance the atmosphere.
That said, once you hit around Gnosis level 3-4, boss fights become brutally difficult.
Suggestions:
* A co-op option would be fantastic. Some bosses feel borderline unbeatable unless you get extremely lucky, co-op could make those encounters feel more manageable.
* Adding a way to reroll Arcane options would make runs feel more strategic and less dependent on luck.
* It would also be great to allow players to switch loadouts mid-map.
Sidenote:
Without playing what I said about Madness might not make any sense, but generally its a bar that fills up when you are seen by a floating red orb of death. Granted you might not be able to see the orb but the orb sees you and your "Madness" gauge fills up. When the orb can't see you it doesn't fill up and after some time it will go down on its own. At higher Gnosis levels it fills up faster (or maybe just more orbs see you?), and when the bar is fully filled you lose life till you have 1 left or the debuf ends. So, you are trying to stay in cover and dodge melee dudes, who will teleport to you and or behind you while in cover, an again melee dudes will wreck you, quickly.
Thoughts:
I do recommend the game, it could be most of the issues I found with the game were just my own playstyle of the game.

I like all the genres this game or Steam page claims it to be but more frustrated than anything, training isn't great, there's too much in the hub area, it's what I imagine it feels like to open up Vermintide 2 or Deep Rock Galactic if you weren't there from the beginning, a lot of pick ups I don't really know what they are used for or give a f*** for. A lot of things I had to look up online which doesn't make you feel good, you don't really have to I guess, but when you jump into a level the first time and just get a key and proper done over, and your gun does 1 dmg you do think, 'am I playing it right' and that is a bad thought in itself, then you see how you're meant to play it and that takes the fun out of it as well.
Dunno, still EA but I didn't like the induction and the mechanics haven't really grabbed me. Not risking playing it for more than 2 hours to get it, nor should you have to. Wanted it to hit but it didn't sorry
Absolutely amazing game. It takes inspiration from quite a few other things, yet somehow, remains its own thing. It does what it does better than ALOT of triple A titles out there. I wish these guys all the success in the world. Worth every penny.

A little tough to learn everything at first and still could use some TLC for feature explaining but overall I have grown to have much more fun than I expected with this game.
The combat is buttery smooth and controls feel snappy and responsive - this is coming from someone who almost always plays on console with a controller but this just felt "right" even on M+KB. Cant wait to see what they have in store for us with 1.0 hopefully later this year.
Originally purchased because it was on sale, a gamer was drunk, and it looked like a great game to play with the fellow youths. Unfortuneately to my sober surprise the next day, it was single player. BUT!! The expectations i did have were blown out of the water dispite that. 9/10. i'm kind of a "wanna feel like an op god" type of gamer these days, AKA i got old and out of touch. Especially if i have access to magic. But thats a personal preferance i feel would tarnish this game. The reason i say 9/10 is i feel that while a full multiplayer of 3 or 4 would feel too easy or like its copying other games, I do feel as though a Co-op option would be nice. at the very least make it a sort of "new game plus," for people who have at least finished once.

Multiplayer is needed tho... better more detailed maps... OPTIMIZATION is needed... Story narration also needed... BUT 8/10 now 10/10 if it gets everything needed :)

Absolutely would recommend this game!!! so far its my favourite souls_like ever! I really like the weapons, so much infact that I tend to forget to use my powers. I also love that there are no forced boss fights
this game needs more recognition. insanely underrated. fun builds, fun exploration, fun and challenging gameplay. a bunch of guns and spells to unlock. a game for those who want a challenge but also play at their own pace. HIGHLY recommend.
Wow, I just beat the early access. I am in love with this game. It feels like a combination of Darksouls and Destiny. I enjoyed every bit of it and am confident this team will continue to deliver as they keep rolling out patches into the launch. ..And then hopefully DLC's and a sequel :D

I played it a lot on Epic since the first release there on EA, and now got it on Steam since I got rid of Epic I can only say that for an EA it's a fantastic shooter with some light rpg elements with interesting graphics and lore, only keep in mind there are very few maps. There are big, but very few for an FPS - 5. It needs many more . Also, I like the company's stance on the AI junk in art, humans only awesome
Even in early access this game has more to offer than most AAA games, certainly more than all AAAA games. Runs pretty well on the deck too
just so so good. gunplay is so good, it is now the standard at which other FPS should be.
I just got this like two days ago from a friend and to be honest, I absolutely love it, as apparent by me putting twenty hours into the game within two days, with more hours to come I'm sure (especially whenever 1.0 releases).
I originally found this game from a Reddit post saying how it had similar gun feel to Destiny 2, and honestly, being a fan of hand cannons since originally playing Destiny 2, I gotta admit that post wasn't wrong; the guns feel great, the movement is good, the atmosphere is also really good in my opinion, and I like the style of the game in general, I'm a sucker for this sort of stuff.
As a final note, for being early access, Witchfire is definitely a game to try out if you're curious, or wait until 1.0 and buy it then.

手感好，优化好，内容足，让我有一种在玩很扎实的老游戏的感觉
Starts off great, slowly progressing and exploring the well made maps and unlocking more mechanics and weapons to play with. but then it hits a hard wall at some point (depending on your progress) that turns the game from something fun to do, to an absolute chore.
Even when said chores are done, the game difficulty has probably progressed too far that enemies just become annoying to deal with and you'll most likely start feeling frustrated to the point that progressing further becomes almost impossible.
i'm most likely just butt cheeks at the game, but I did enjoy it until i couldn't no more.

Do you want to run grindy runs all runs? Get witchfire to boost a stat so you can get more witchfire for your witchfire?
Average handholding? Quite allright imo.
Punishment for following the games directive by leveling your Gnosis? ♥♥♥♥ yes. Here's harder enemies on the starter island, so your grinding is even more tedious.
All in all? After 2 hours i'm just frustrated, Game is decent, but it's not that fun.

I was giving it a thumbs up at first, but then i heard that they don't have any plans for multiplayer and now i wish i never bought it.
If you like it as a single player, where it gets boring fast then go ahead.
Shooting, weapon animations and movement animations are like 90% similar to Destiny 2.
It's also as grindy.
I would say this game is a very particular flavor that will draw in only those that enjoy this style of game.
The gameplay reminds me a lot of Destiny, in terms of the gunplay and how "floaty" everything feels. There is a double jump and dash feature that makes movement quick and fun. The guns are satisfying but some are clearly better than others.
The game design reminds me a lot of Remnant II. You have a central hub where you upgrade weapons and yourself. You go do a mission, clear the zone, get EXP, come back, upgrade, rinse and repeat. There is no story I can glean from this game, just an infinite loop of go into a mission, come back, get better and go to harder missions. The lore is cool and the enemies are cool, but its just an infinite loop extraction shooter style game.

This is a great game. I played quite a bit of it when it was first released in Early Access and knew it showed a TON of promise. I decided to take a break from it while the team worked on adding more content. Since coming back to it, it's only gotten better and more refined.
I love the setting and visuals. Lighting, geometric density of the environments, and effects on everything is amazing. Leveling up your Preyer and weapons is super satisfying. As you progress you can really start stacking damage on enemies with your abilities, magic, and weapons. It's very rewarding to take out the stronger enemies with relative ease after previously getting your ass handed to you in the past.
These developers have demonstrated their abilities. Give the game a try and support this team's awesome work.

Like Dark Souls and Bioshock had a baby and it cured cancer. One of those games that can recall the primordial magic of the imagination you had before you were old and jaded.

A single-player extraction shooter with some light roguelite elements. Gunplay is satisfying, with a nice variety of guns where each one feels unique. Atmosphere and visuals are top-notch and the game runs well. There's a good amount of content for EA and 1.0 isn't too far off either. Highly recommend!
This hasn't disappointed me - bought it on a whim because dark fantasy shooter (was hesitant at first given Early Access but it's stable and polished). This has scratched an inch by combing so many of my loved mechanics and genres. I can't rate this highly enough.

It's ok but keeps messing up my amd drivers. maybe il try again in a year hopefully they fix the issue.
