this game is hard. if you cannot play puzzle games or you just have a bad temper don't play this game because you need hella patience. and no, it's not a fun game.

Don't get me wrong, the concept for this game is really good. Scrolling the dark web to find digital keys while evading the police and other nefarious factions... Theoretically, this game should be a classic, but unfortunately, it misses its mark for a few reasons:
- While the game comes with a nudity toggle, there's no toggle for other images, which while they fit the vibe of the game, make it a difficult game to stream. It feels pretty weird of a decision to not have gore in particular as a toggle option when a nudity toggle already exists. The nudity toggle doesn't even do anything that massively changes the game (it doesn't disable NSFW websites appearing; it only censors images), so I genuinely don't know why this isn't a feature.
- The gameplay loop is particularly difficult to even begin. Setting up VPNs isn't explained well, or how to deal with certain enemies. You'd think some of the core aspects of the game wouldn't be entirely missed out tutorial-wise, but alas. I understand this game is intentionally difficult, but not even telling your players that the game only saves every fifteen minutes other than in a tiny tooltip that occasionally appears on the loading screen is needless.
- The gameplay loop is tiring. I imagine it wouldn't be even half as tiring if it wasn't for the police entirely resetting your progress, but there really isn't much to do in regards to the loop as a whole regardless. It's a lot of just moving the curser along and trying not to acknowledge what you're actually reading and then waiting for pages to load, with the occasional hack or event interrupting you and making you wait even longer. It could really do with more sites that have puzzles to keep you stimulated, or even just some more innocent sites (like on the actual dark web!) to make the more horrific sites have better shock factor and feel less dreary to scour through over hours of gameplay.
- A complete run can take hours. Again, this wouldn't be so bad if the game had checkpoints, or a better saving feature.
- This game is buggy. Really buggy. The amount of times I found myself unable to pick things up or ending up in areas I shouldn't be able to get into in just the short amount of time I've played the game is crazy.
- There are particularly unnecessary RNG ways to die late-game. For a game that's already particularly difficult, having a character who can randomly be behind any door is the very opposite of fun. There's a big difference between dying to RNG and dying due to your own error. The RNG is incredibly demotivating and rough.
Honestly, I don't think I can recommend this one. It's got a really solid concept though; I really hope the dev decides to iron out a lot of the kinks for WTTG3. Third times the charm... hopefully.

A really nice game if youre into puzzles and suspense but I got anxiety after playing this game LOL. But it feels very rewarding if you do things right especially the hacks and deep web.
Even after almost 10 years the game is still filled with bugs and even if you are a player who knows how to beat the game, you will still not be able to due to stupid game mechanics and terrible design. On multiple occasions as a new player I experienced game and run-ruining designs such as being teleported and trapped for a speedrun strat that as a brand new player I had no idea was even a thing. Instead of just fixing the speedrunning bug, the dev decided to implement this mechanic of trapping the player with no way out other than to quit the game and start a new run, leaving casual players who were not even trying to do this strat helpless. Leaving aside all of the controversy behind the dev himself, all of these game designs just point to a trigger happy developer.

I love this game so much its so fun, u need to rely on ur ears a lot and stuff.
I really like this second game, just as much as the first one. I really enjoy the tension and stress that the game creates, and the fear of the unknown at the beginning. It's very difficult, and every playthrough is different, which adds to the experience. The dark web theme was also very good here!🔍
Originally bought this game for MacOS - and it seems to be out of date. I won’t spoil a certain point, but some mechanics are updated in the windows version but not the Mac one. There’s also lack of 1337 mode in MacOS. I’ve started playing the windows version using a VM instead. If playing on windows, I enjoy the game! It’s definitely a challenge, so if you’re just looking for an easy breezy game, this isn’t for you. If you’re playing solely on Mac, I’d give this a miss - the game is not optimised at all, it’s near on unplayable with how quick you have to react some times.
This game pisses me off in a way not many games have before. I got the 3 keys, I got the key helper, I had like 150 DOS coin, making my way through, and I died because I convinced myself a noise was probably my paranoia talking. I was physically nauseous at this loss. Great game. Incredibly infuriating. Make an easy mode for incompetent people like me. <3

Just don't. If ur into hacking or computers, just go look for any easy CTF out there (maybe try overthewire or smth, even though it's a bit old), it'll make you feel more accomplished, and u'll actually be learning something at the same time.
Also, some ♥♥♥♥ in this game makes absolutely 0 sense, so if you know anything about cybersec or computers, it will just feel weird and random. Gameplay also feels "uncomfortable", movement is annoying, game is buggy... It's one of the few games that gives me motion sickness, too.

Game intentionally designed to piss you off. Fun, not particularly scary BUT it is very anxiety inducing. The best part of the game is EASILY the sheer relief you get when succefully doing anything.
Feels like a step down from the first in every way honestly. Feature creep hell.
Tons of useless mechanics with no purpose. Poor gameplay design choices that really were obvious.

[*] You have to go up and down 8 flights of stairs every single time. (Up AND down)
[*] Crouching and Leaning has zero point.
[*] The "open world" has no point to existent nor any real function. 2nd half of a playthrough you just stay indoors anyways and leaving is a death sentence.
[*] The game does an actual abhorrently bad job at explaining its mechanics. The Noir's Darkness Insta-Kill is just, unacceptably bad. Should really better communicate to the Player you need all lights (except 1) turned on to avoid it.
[*] The developer added a "Cheat-Prevention" measure by teleporting you into the Elevator as a cage if you try to clip out of bounds. Issue is, this is VERY easy to trigger as an innocent player as the game is very buggy. Happened to me three times by accident. Very frustrating.

Overall, the game is just a more grindy, more time-consuming, less scary WTTG 1. I really, really don't see the point in playing this over the first which really was better in every way. Better horror, respected your time more, more clear/understandable mechanics, as well as much less buggy than this game. Avoid this one.
Extremely difficult but so addicting 10/10 would recommend.
What a game! Hours of fun! Recommendation every day of the week. Just pure masterclass! Can´t wait for the 3rd part!

Fantastic atmosphere and some really creative ideas. The game is unforgiving but can be beaten if you take the time to learn all the nuance. If the difficulty seems unfair, consider the game is at most 3 hrs long if you beat it first try. But you wont. You will die. Again. And again. Its not for everyone, but the price point is honest and the pacing makes for some awesome jump scares. and when you have seven keys, cant find the eighth, and time is running out, the paranoia is peak.
There is nothing to enjoy about this. As a piece of media, for lack of a better title, I respect it, but not as a game, because it fits almost no type of player, at least in my opinion. Disgusting, boring, annoying and stressful. (if you like those then go ahead) I recommend watching a playthrough though. It is much more entertaining then actually playing it.

um jogo q provavelmente eu nunca vou zerar por duas coisas: medo e por ser técnico demais. É quase obrigatório ver vídeos, o game tem muita coisa oculta, timings que você tem que pegar, barulhos que você tem que saber diferenciar pra saber se algm ta vindo te matar inclusive o tempo q eles aparecem conforme você entra nos sites. Muitos sites ocultos e secretos q só aparecem em horários diferentes com redes wifi diferentes q você é obrigado a entrar pra pegar as keys. O interessante dele é o realismo nas redes e no computador, como vc tem q resetar o modem, trocar ip, vpns, wifi etc pra não ser rastreado.
A atmosfera também é insana, você está no total silencio extremamente desconfortável pra do nada ouvir um som diferente, quem sabe um barulho de vento pela janela ou alguem que acabou de entrar no seu apartamento e está literalmente nas suas costas. A tensão é extrema e angustiante, tudo é aleatório e imprevisível.

So I have been aware of welcome to the game 1 and 2 for quite some time, as well as a few other hacking games. I am a fear junkie, not going to lie. With that being said - I am addicted to Welcome to the Game 2. I suck at WTTG1 - and i dont regret it. I feel WTTG 2 is the better game, without a doubt. Picture this....
You are sitting in your room, alone and you have the craving for something scary.. You have already done all the same ole same ole, and pick up WTTG 2. The music just starting it up is creepy as all get out, not to mention the two masked creepers staring at you like you are their next meal. From there, it only gets worse. The ambient sounds make the hairs on your arms and the back of your neck stand up like there is no denial your next breath is going to be your last. Every page, every hack, every encounter only raises your anxiety while you race the clock to save that poor girl. Are you going to make it or is that face in the window going to get you? Guess you will have to find out huh?
If you are a fear junkie like me this game will turn you on and give you a heart attack at the same time. If you dont believe me, please, give it a try.

Pretty good game , i would recommend. Its preferable with mods that add new characters to increase the fun and the tenseness of the game. It does have some flaws and bugs that still exist like the flashlight not working sometimes , not being able to copy texts etc.
