I loved this game when I was younger, but unfortunately it's just too old for modern hardware now. I was getting constant crashes to desktop, it wasn't finding textures. It's just technically not up to scratch. I wouldn't recommend buying it for that reason alone. The store page is seemingly dead as well so I don't expect this to improve.
However, the few moments I got where it worked were joyous. I spent so many hours playing this game and it was nice to get a small glimpse at least into the past. Save your money (not that it's expensive) and just watch some gameplay footage instead.

Entre um sim ou não, Vegas: Make It Big™ vai levar um não por conta de que a idade está aparecente, e não estou falando dos gráficos, que obviamente estão desatualizados, mas pequenas "qualidades de vida" que já nem são tão novas: o jogo em si é simples, mas conforme você começa a ter varias coisas pra gerenciar fica meio confuso e o pior pra mim é a falta de notificações, você precisa constantemente clicar em cada propriedade pra ver se tudo está indo bem.
Não é um jogo injogavel ou chato, mas ele se torna muito massivo e arrastado com o passar do tempo, perdendo a diversão rapidamente.

Whether it's a yes or a no, Vegas: Make It Big™ will get a no because its age is showing, and I'm not talking about the graphics, which are obviously outdated, but small "qualities of life" that aren't even that new anymore: the game itself is simple, but as you start to have several things to manage it gets a bit confusing and the worst thing for me is the lack of notifications, you constantly need to click on each property to see if everything is going well.
It's not an unplayable or boring game, but it becomes very massive and dragged out over time, quickly losing its fun.
This is a really easy builder game. But the visuals are pleasant and the game is quite relaxing just to see how you turn a meager gambling den into a massive compound of mega hotels and casinos packing every game of chance with different areas for a different level of risk. There could be more decorative items, but it's possible to get more creative by using what is on offer. For being a low price game, it's totally worth it, give it a chance.

- Was made before ESG ruined everything.
- Absolute bargain if you get it on sale.
Nitpicks:
- Placing paving feels janky because the selected square doesn't line up well with the mouse pointer. It's still
- perfectly usable, & you don't spend much time placing paving, but it's a little annoying.
- Clicking 'view casino', while in a casino, during the tutorial, crashes the game.
- If you save the game in a paused state, it will sill load in an un-paused state.
- Not the end of the world, just a minor annoyance.
- No rebind-able keys.

A small tycoon game based on building a lot on the Vegas strip. I originally bought this game at Big Lots for $5, and sunk many hours into building lots and casinos. Its a nice casual game with a nice sound track. The game features multiple themes to keep the builds interesting and unique for certain buildings such as paths, casinos, hotels, and other misc decorations. Overall I would recommend to have a nice chill time.

Lata temu gra mi zaginełą i pamiętałem ją zawsze, gra jest stara i archaiczna ale ma tak niesamowity klimat że przypomina mi dzieciństwo, najbardziej uwlelbiam te wszystkie gatunki kasyn i parków, ogromnego klimatu dodają też światła w róznych kolorach i muzyka do każdego gatunku w kasynach. Jak ogarniasz tą gierkę to wkręcisz się w nią niesamowicie. Mega polecam. Te 6 godzin nie odzwierciedla tego jak grałem przed wersją Steamową. :D

It's a tycoon game for Las Vegas. Find your customer base, cater to their needs and empty their wallets on the baize on your tables or fill up your slots. If they want to sleep, they can sleep in your hotels. If they want to blow any winnings, they can spend it in your shops. Also, if they want to get in a show or see a blockbuster, make sure you've got one in your empire that they will visit.
Plus, if you play things right, you even get to own a roller coaster!
Vegas: Make It Big is an ancient (2006) business tycoon game where you run a Las Vegas casino empire. Or you would if the game launched properly. On the latest builds of Window 11, the game hangs on launch.
Even if it did work, it's a very poorly made game with shallower gameplay than most tycoon games... at best this can be considered an ancient Rollercoaster Tycoon game, but without the rollercoasters. Sound like fun? No? Well, that's Vegas: Make it Big.
The developers have made no effort to keep their game maintained and running, yet they have no qualms holding out their hands and taking $5 USD from gamers for a game that doesn't even work. That's highly unethical. The developers should remove the game from Steam or maintain it properly.

Shows its age unfortunately. Having to invidivually maintain each and every thing with no notifications that it needs to be done save for when it breaks, and no way to automate it, really cripples the game for me. Do not reccomend.

Ses-görüntü-koku kirliliği, kumar aletlerine hile karıştırabilmek, işçilerin birden grev başlatması, deprem olunca kumar aletlerinin çökmesi gibi tatlı ve çıktığı yıla göre büyük detaylar oynarken beni çok eğlendirdi. The graphics are sub-par, possibly even by 00s standards when this game was published.
I don't mean they're buggy or laggy, in fact those aren't things that happen in this game.
But the walk cycles on the characters don't quite match their speed and the detail in small scenery items is little better, this was an age when computers games couldn't do anything circular.
But ironically the visuals are what I love most about this game. When you buy a plot for your new casino complex you pick a theme like classic Vegas, Greek Mythology, Ocean or Great Britain. And let me tell you the visuals in this game hit the eye like a fireworks display! (incidentally you can get fireworks for your casinos.) The casinos, hotels, arenas and decorations that come with your chosen theme are hugely thematic and extravagant with lights, neon, animatronics and the shear level of imagination make it a feast for the eyes. I suspect this game is more imaginative and extravagant then the real Vegas!
The game is much more then ploping down buildings. The casinos have the option to go inside and customise the layout, which you can do with strategy and imagination. Recently I played with the America theme and found myself using the carpeting tool to make the whole room into a giant U.S. flag.
You can place gaming tables to your discretion, customise the betting range and house edge, you can save layouts to use later or load pre-made ones.
There is strategy in placement. Certain buildings and gambling games attract different kinds of patrons, you can target groups and create an ideal venue for them or make a place with something for everyone and broaden your appeal.
Some buildings, inside and out of your casinos, have a negative aura that will drive away guests. You need to either plan ahead and put them out of the way and or use decorations with positive auras to counter them.
Speaking of which, I used to find this game very difficult until I realized the way to solve the problem of negative auras was positive auras. After that it lost a lot of it's challenge.
there is no difficulty setting, the closest thing is a few sliders in the sandbox mode for things like starting money, frequency of events and max population of guests. Once you've built a decent casino money starts FLOODING in weather patrons win or lose. Which makes everything else a breeze but is not unlike real life casinos. : )
So is it worth it? Put it this way... recently Sim Casino, a much more modern, complex and customizable game went on sale but I turned it down. Sim Casino's graphics make it look far better but Vega$: make it big makes it look boring!

Настолько быстро надоела игра, что я в нее перестал играть спустя минуты 3, а остальное время просто ждал, что бы была возможность написать этот обзор. Игре очень не хватает реалистичности. Интересно, бывал ли разработчик игры когда-нибудь в Лас-Вегасе? Город предназначен для того, чтобы держать вас в помещении, что бы вы в этом помещении потратили как можно больше денег. У человека в Лас - Вегасе не должна быть возможность переходить из одного здания в другое. Если еще короче... Вы действительно позволите своему гостю покинуть Казино, что бы он воспользовался туалетом на улице?
Управление в игре максимально неудобное. Я например до сих пор не разобрался, как поворачивать здания при постройке. Нет русского языка, это уже по шаблону. Долго загружается на мощном ПК. На 19.10.2020 я был единственным человеком в Steam, кто играл в эту игру.
Оверлеи Steam или Geforce Expierence не работают, из за этого понять, сколько FPS выдает игра невозможно.
А вот музыка в игре релаксирующая и успокаивающая.
Не рекомендую покупать даже по скидке.

Good fun game with some challenging scenarios - good value for the couple of quid game price - graphics are a little outdated now but not awful and still totally workable - I am up to 56 hours gameplay on this and still keep choosing this over the more modern games I have in my library.
Save fairly regularly though as there is no autosave feature - game has crashed 3 or 4 times on me meaning I have lost any progress since the last save - which sometimes can be a few hours worth or work!
Quite a bad game, there's plenty of games that are free and significantly better than this. Skip this one.

Oldie but goldie.
Though it's an old game, it's still fun to play. The campaign is quite difficult at some points. The biggest issue is the control with the mouse... the cursor is a "little" shifted towards the center of the screen. If you're patient enough, it won't trouble you that much.
Even with it's flaws, I still can recommend this old game.

A ONE EURO GAME (on sale) from 2006 is the absolute **** for me =) Its not the rollercoaster thing for 40 euros that Ive NEVER tried - Its the most theme park games ive played since THEME PARK - Its Theme park for grown ups =) . Feels kind of "bonkors" to find a game that old to be the top notch for me.. It tells only a little about how game devs ended up with new bright ideas some years ago ? =) This game has features about reputation and attract traffic flows. Its also relevant to find the right lots to invest in - thou traffic is diffrent on diffrent streets. Really cool game - wouldnt say its either hard to get or easy to manage. Its just challenging and when nieching is better than being average I will do my best to atract the high stakes VIP:s (among fat casinos, parks, pools, bars and nightclubs). If you like any kind of management games - give this a try =)

Game loaded once. Didn't give me a way to play without going through the terrible tutorial. I then closed out of the game after about 15 minutes of terrible gameplay, and the game has refused to play since then. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it has the same issue.
The photos attached to the game look nothing like the actual game, which is unfortunate - the photos are very misleading and basically what sold me on the game. This game truly is not even worth the $5 I paid. Sad.

Старая и очень интересная игра по строительство казино (неожиданно, не правда ли?). Я в нее играл еще, будучи маленьким, и щас не прочь сыграть. Игра очень хорошая, пробивает на ностальгию.
Мне, лично, она нравиться, и вам советую поиграть, как ознакомление. Имеется русский язык, но стим выпилил его.

굳이 단점을 얘기하자면 독특한 테마의 게임임에도 불구하고 금방 질린다는 점.
This is a micro-manage repair simulator. The slots... Dont bother with them. They break every 5 minutes. Then you have to individually click them (not directly cause that clicks the floor or the guest.) THEN move the cursor half the screen and click send mechanic... THEN wait about 10 minutes for him to walk there. THEN click the next one and do it all over again... HOW HARD IS IT TO HAVE STAFF AUTO REPAIR... Yeesh. Other than that its an ok game for a dollar.

Bei Vegas: Make it Big handelt es sich um einen Casino Tycoon-Simulator mit einer Menge Mechaniken die man aber eher auf den zweiten Blick erkennt.
Viele Reviews hier mit geringer Spielzeit bezeichnen das Spiel als zu einfach aber ich muss sagen nach dem ich die Kampagne durchgespielt habe dort sind schon knackige Missionen dabei die ein gutes Verständnis und Anwendung der verschiedenen Spielmechaniken wie Lärm, Schönheit, Gestank oder Beruhigende Einflüsse erfordern.
Die Grafik ist für ein mittlerweile schon 12 Jahre altes Spiel immer noch ok jedoch ist der Soundtrack sehr eintönig bei Missionen die teilweise bis zu 1,5 Stunden dauern.
Insgesamt würde ich das Spiel mit 7/10 bewerten da es viel Spaß gemacht hat aber der eintönige Soundtrack und vor allem die nicht besonders gute Erklärung der Einflussmechaniken das Spielerlebnis etwas dämpfen.

Das Spiel macht für mich keinen Spaß, da man zu wenig Baumöglichkeiten hat und die Steuerung sehr kompliziert ist.
Ich empfehle das Spiel nicht weiter!

Nagyon klassz.
Built Trump's Casino and put a wall around it. Went bankrupt almost instantly. Made Vegas great again! 9/11 would recommend.
This game isn't bad tbh and if you keep your strip small its actully very fun.
The game becomes a chore however when you decide to expand your strip, you'll find yourself mashing the repair button every five seconds on a strip with more than 3 medium casinos and from there it just gets progressively worse.
Lord help you if you decide to have disasters on becuase then it gets even worse. It wouldn't be so bad if they implmented an autorepair mechanic that let you assign your staff to certain parts of the casino but sadly, it lacks this.
really good game back in the day, we need another game like this on the market with updated graphics over all 10/10

Vegas: Make It Big™ - игра про казино-бизнес. Можно всячески настраивать казино, покупать лоты, чтобы всё работало в одном режиме. Печалит лишь то, что есть один способ, с помощью которого можно быть постоянно на вершине, что собственно и убивает весь геймплей. Ты ставишь несколько зданий, чтоы улучшить работу других зданий, и получаешь кэш. Никакого моделирования, прогноза здесь нет, игра слишком упрощена.
Ну и то, что игра 2006 года (хотя графика еще более-менее, по тем меркам), без русского языка, достижений, карточек, и каких-либо доск почета - идет в довесок.
Не рекомендую, надо искать что-то посерьезней.

TLDR: Dated Shovelware. Grind and place precrafted decorations around environment. Micromanagement, grind, and keeping with up simple AI routines.
Outcompeted typical tycoon title in which you must place prefabricated commodities in the form of buildings to please nearby customers. You do not actually have to attract people to your location as in most games of this genre it seems as you are building in the middle of vegas. Otherwise there are options to micro-adjust the prices for individual amenities, and there is a little bit of variety in buildings. On the other hand however I found the menus not all that intuitive to navigate, with roads being placed under scenery for example, which you would think would be about cosmetic things like bushes and rocks. The elevator music was rather boring. Engine could not really cope with being all that zoomed in, and the bird's eye view did not seem very immersive. Not really enjoying the engine either, all npcs are just sheeps on circular pathfinding with a need flashing on top of their head. It does not feel like an actual simulation, or even a pretense of one. Somewhat disappointing. Mostly just unoriginal and too dated and vanilla to really enjoy. They did not make the most out of the gambling/vegas aspect of it either. Very forgettable. Removed for declutter.

Vous devez construire et gérer une parcelle de Las Vegas, avec bien evidement la construction d'un casino (vous devez orgniser et gérer également l'intérieur du casino. Seul batiment "vide" que vous organisez a votre gout. (placement des tables de jeux, des machines a sous etc etc...)
La campagne est plutot sympa, un mode bac à sable permet de jouer en libre.
Dommage que ce jeu ne soit pas proposé en français sur Steam ! Mais il reste facilement compréhensible pour les débutant en anglais.

It's old. Now that the obvious is out of the way: I have absolutely loved every moment of this game. It's intricate and very challenging. There are so many ways to screw up in campaign mode, forcing you to get your management down to a refined edge. People are attracted by age, wealth, and gender to certain themes and events you build. You even hand make the layout for your freakin casino and choose a theme (Mayan, Greek, Patriotic, Chinese to name a few) for that. Few modern games grant you this many options.
Even when Planet Coaster 19 is hitting shelves, I will be playing this.

Ein nettes altes game was man immer mal bei langeweile spielen kann. Finde es nur echt mehr als schade das es NUR auf english ist. Früher gab es das selbe spiel unter einen etwas anderen namen auch in deutsch. Da gäbe es sicher mittel und wege.

If you are bored and are looking to kill a few hours, this game always pleases. I bought it several years ago & had to get it when it was on sale. Its not an in depth game but it does its job. I wish they would make a current day one. But if you can catch this for a buck or two, its worth it,
A classic to me. Although the graphics may not be the best and the gameplay isn't the best either, it gives so much relaxing fun.
Sometimes games don't need the best graphics to be amazing, just look at Minecraft. This game has its own style of graphics and I completely love it. Just looking at the people can be so hilarious. When do you see a guy with a snake around his neck entering the casino? In this game. Yet, the game has a quite smart engine. When you build a casino - you can build an entire lot, but the interior of casino is the only thing you can design - you can set the winning odds, minimum bids etc on all the tables or slots. If you set, for example, the starting bids to the highest you will only see men in dress at that table. And you will of course win big money.

Furhermore is this game from 2006 - you should not forget that while playing - just a relaxing game. You can buy multiple lots, choose a theme for every single one of them and just do anything you want. However, it's a nice challenge to keep noise and smell as far away as possible. Don't put the toilets in the middle of your lot, people will complain about the smell, but just hide it on the side. This goes for the interior of the casino as well, keep the maintenance buildings away from all the action. A nice feature is to plant extra walls, or raise/lower certain areas. It will stop the smell or sound.
An theme I always pick and do the same off is the Ocean theme. You can't pick the Ocean theme without making your lot full of water first. All the three casinos you can build (small, medium, big) are completely different if you pick another theme. The outside of the ocean casino looks like the Titanic, and the inside adapts to that. Some casinos have multiple entrances, some have a lot of corners.

I have spent 12 hours with this game on Steam. Yet, I've played it way more - back in the days when I didn't had Steam. I did not spent 5 euros for this, I bought it when it was on sale (no idea how much I paid for it though). But it is worth it. You can just play it for a little bit, have a laugh and come to rest.
I wish it would have unlimited lots you can buy, because there will be a time you are done. But that time has not come for me yet. I just like the game. I always spent way to much time on making the map nice and stylish, so it takes hours for me to complete a lot. Even a small one.
And that is what I like about this game: you can just mess around as much as you want, or you can make the most ridiculous casino ever.
Like that time I raised a big area in a casino to just build one gambling slot on it, surrounded by trash cans. Or that moment when I created a 'waiting room' for the toilets containing a Texas Hold 'Em table. People actually go play there, and then complain there is smell. Lovely.
Before you think I'm a sadist, I also tried to create just beautiful places. I don't have a lot of screens on Steam to prove that though...

Decent simulation game, but gets boring fast. When you start getting good amount of money it's pretty easy to build everything and then you either quit game or just wait to get more money which you can't even spend to anything when everything is already done. Game is little too easy and there isn't much to do. Still I enjoyed it a little so 5/10.
Takes some getting used to, but once you understand the mechanics of it, this is a fantastic tycoon game by a great past developer. Also check out Tycoon: New York City (Vegas: Make It Big's predecessor) which is 100x better and more fun to play (Once you delete the one file in (NYC) Steam's program files that makes the game unplayable to bug free after you delete it). Some maps are really bugged in Vegas and will cause many crashes, other maps play just fine. Definitely check out if you enjoy Tycoon games, competitive business, and making a lot of money.

this is type of micro manage / build game.
Works great on Windows 8, no problems. This is a pretty fun empire builder game. You can build much more than just a casino, more like an entire resort. Motels, hotels, entertainment venues, restaurants, lounges, discos. There is much to build. I like the sandox mode. You can buy your plot start small, and when you start raking in the dough, but some bigger plots and expand with grand hotels, and the biggest and best casinos. Only downside, it can get a bit easy once you start making money, but overall pretty fun builder game.

Boaring game: got old quick the realsm is really lacking i wonder if the game developer's actually ever been to las vegas, The city is desiged to keep you indoors. All shops outside, build rest rooms, ye really let my guest leave the casino to use the rest rooms out doors.
The Default build template for the casion made me laugh, nickle slots near all entrences and exits, with progressive to get people in the doors. i can see build pools out door bars and attactions built on outside. i dunno it failed to capture Vegas and i really wana visit again but its to exensive.
As sad as it is, this game is not nearly as good as its predecessor, Tycoon City New York. While New York had an open world, full sandbox, a large quest and heavy detail, this game strips it down massively, despite being a sequel. I can see why it was renamed from Tycoon City: Vegas to Vegas: Make It Big before it released years ago. Its bad! Not nearly a spec as good as New York was! Want a good game? Get Tycoon City New York!!!
This game is fun for a few hours! if you like buildier or tycoon type games try it out if its cheap. I got it for $0.54 on a steam sale and am very happy with the gameplay i got for that price. One of the features i like alot about this game is that you are not only placing the buldings, but can them zoom into the casino and place the features of the casino aswell.
The scenario missions i found to be the most fun.

I played this game along time ago with a disc. I repurchased it because this game is awesome. I really wish there was an updated version or at least allow modding for different scenarios or additional content... I love this game.

This game stretches all the way back to my childhood and during that time I enjoyed the game thorougly.
Being young, I didn't notice the faults and imperfections in the game (which there are) such as the short campaign, informative tutorials, and poor graphics, however if you love managment and tycoon games, you can't really go wrong for a price of $0.32, and there are some really good things to take away from the game.
The casino builder is really enjoyable and has alot of depth to it, more than the actual lot desiging. The campaign could prove challenging to people who have just picked up the game. The sandbox mode offers great fun, trying to collect the most money and build a good reputation on the strip.
Overall, the game is not perfect, however it has many more postives than negatives, so next time a sale pops up, you can't go wrong with spending some pocket change on a fun and entertaining game!
