What an amazing game...right until ACT III when the developers decided to hire a new art director or either drink too much and completely shifted the vibe from gothic dracula and magic to ray guns and robots.

Everything is so immersive, the music, the art style, the different enemies and their abilities. The game keeps getting deeper and deeper with crafting, magic, gems....and of course, taking people prisoner for their blood which was surprisingly fun. They nailed the balancing of the PVE and the boss variety.

Then Act III starts and I honestly can't imagine what happened at their creative meeting. Such a bizarre choice. They say the lore fits and is about "mad scientists"....but this makes zero sense. Why am I crafting threads and printing scrolls when literally a suburb over they have robots and rayguns. Like...why wouldn't ALL cultures adopt the best technology? So sad as up to this point it was a 11/10 game.

Still recommend it for the first two acts. They're super fun - you get to build your own dracula castle and kidnap enemies for blood.

After all the updates you get a 60$ game for 20. It is just worth it to try all the new stuff at least for one run of PvE with your friends, and there is a lot to do even if you do not like base building or boss fighting each person can focus on the other side of the game because they are both deep. Each weapon has a skill kit, each boss gives a new skill, and you slowly make a crazy good build, you can even be support and heal!

If you liked it a lot there is a PvP community too. Really worth your time and money.

This is a finished game with hundreds of hours of content in it that has been consistently developed over the last 4 or so years. It is NOT abandonware as some other people have said in these reviews, the devs have simply made their game as complete as its going to be and are moving on to bigger and hopefully better projects.

For my actual review of this game if you care what some guy on the internet has to say is as follows. Games great. Genuinly one of my favorite games to come out in the last decade. Its great to play solo and with friends, the base building is clean and very intuitive. Progression feels earned throughout every stage of the game. The story is very souls like in the sense that you get most of it from the environment/reading boss descriptions. If you are into survival games I can almost guarantee you will find something to like in V-rising.

If I have one negative thing to say about it it's that there is no cross play so just be aware if you plan on playing this with your console friends.

This game rocks. I played the whole game solo on brutal from start-to-finish and loved every second, even when I was getting pissed at some of the bosses. I love the Isometric Combat that games like Albion and League of Legends have, but hate that they're so sweaty and PVP focused that you can't enjoy them casually. This game was the perfect solution for me. Solo or with friends you can enjoy both fluid, super fun combat and an awesome, semi-grinding survival game. The atmosphere of this game is perfect on top of it all. The environments are wonderful, the music is perfect (bought the vinyl, couldn't pass that up) for every area, the bosses are challenging but rewarding. The amount of adrenaline I had on the final boss was better than any drug could ever be.

Os devs desse jogo tem histórico de abandonar seus jogos pra fazer outros, mesmo sem atingir o potencial máximo que o título tem para oferecer. Acabaram de anunciar que vão deixar V Rising de lado para focar no próximo projeto situado no mesmo universo... Errr? (Btw, boa sorte pagando mais um preço gordo no próximo V Rising 2.0 que eles lançarem com os mesmos problemas desse aqui)

É um bom jogo, mas com falhas graves em diversos departamentos. Todas as suas falhas poderiam ser solucionadas, não se tratam de casos sem salvação, o jogo também carece de conteúdo e inovação para um Sandbox. Eu não teria nem metade das horas que tenho se não fosse por causa do PvP exclusivamente.

For the sake of clarity I am reviewing this game from the perspective of solo PvE and small group PvE. The PvP and official server side of game is better reviewed by other people in the community that actually use them, but from my limited exposure it is HEAVILY different then the PvE side of the game. So if that is your driving reason for buying please read one of those reviews.

I don't really write reviews but something about V Rising just scratched that perfect itch for me. At the end of the day VR is a survival crafting game that has your standard loop. Harvest->craft->Build->Fight and repeat, but what makes this one fun for me is everything in between those steps.

You could cut down trees and harvest rocks for an hour or you could steal it from a small bandit camp or town. You could find small outcrops of copper and silver hiding in the woods or you could raid the human owned mines and take them. Everything in this game makes you feel like you are a vampire in a world that has grown to forget how terrifying your kind is.

In the building category VR stands out by allowing the player to create these massive sweeping citadels hidden from plain site. There is more then enough options to build with that you are only limited by your creativity, and a quick search on Youtube or even the dev-blogs will show the unbelievable talent of the builders in this community and what they can achieve.

The combat plays like a mix of old school and modern Diablo (ARPGs). The slow drip feed of weapons, as a new player and not as an early access player, ensures that there is always something new to play with at any point in the game. The only real complaint I have is that I wish the claw weapon wasn't gated behind an unlock in the mid to late game.

Outside of weapons the player also has access to multiple schools of magic and each one has a unique passive that is shared within it that shapes the playstyle of that school. Do you like the idea of turning your enemies once slain comrades against them. Use unholy magic. Do you like to live fast and risk your own blood/health pool with aggressive behavior. Use the leach infused blood magic. You want to turn yourself into a literally minigun of spells that is constantly getting free spell re-casts and no cooldowns. Go illusion. The list goes on for the remaining schools of Frost, storm, and chaos.

While I share the sadness with the rest of the community that V Rising is feature complete and a finished game. I am looking forward to Stunlock's next game since they announced it is taking place in the VR world.

I just wanted to add a small ending part regarding the new news and a small section of the communities response. I know that I'm getting older and I no longer represent the main demographic for gaming in the west, but it does make me sad that it is assumed that every game is now a live service game and has to be constantly updated till the end of time. We got Gloomrot, Mortium (1.0), and then last year we got Okaveil. Each one significantly changed every part of the game and expanded the world map while also adding in a brand new faction each time.

It is okay to be sad that the game is ending. It's okay to not agree with stunlock that the next best step forward is to make a new game. This game however is not abandonware and pretending that it is is just dishonest.

50% of its potential but the devs clearly do not learn from Battlerite and just choose to abandon the game for their next big idea. Could have easily left a few people behind to develop mod tools, could have put a few people on DLC to add new systems to the game every 6 months and charge $10-15 for it to bring people back. The simplest most necessary feature of letting the NPC's orchestrate castle sieges never came to the game and it would have easily added tens of hours more to the end game gameplay loop. The game doesn't dissappoint for what it is but it could have been.

Genuinely one of my favorite games of all time. I play exclusively PVE and coop and this is the game that got me into base building style mechanics. This game is so polished it genuinely blows my mind. The castle building is incredibly fun and is structured in a way that makes it fairly simple, and with a TON of customization options, no two castles will be the same.

The PVE is genuinely so fun as well. The bosses are challenging and take some skill and preparation to beat, but it isn't dark souls level of difficulty. The rarity system is fun and makes grinding out areas interesting.

This is genuinely one of the best gaming experiences I have ever had and I cannot wait for the next game in the v rising universe. Please get this, you won't regret it.

Best survival game. Moba/Diablo like combat that works perfectly. Bosses are challenging and basically every skill and weapon in the game is viable and offer different kind of playstyle. Building is ez, cool and complex if you really get into it.

~100 hours of gameplay, really depends if you take your time making a cool castle. End game doesnt really exist, so once you beat the last boss thats it. All theres left to do is grind the last couple achievements and pimp up your castle (fill it up with succubus servants).

Its fun solo, but imo way better enjoyed with some friends.

Turn up loot/resource multiplier if you dont like grinding and crafting timers to minimum unless you like waiting. Also turn off unteleportable items, it just makes you walk more. These settings really only make sense on online pvp servers.

Chilling in your castle decorating, walking around or staring at a fireplace is very enjoyable in this game for some reason.

DLCs are purely cosmetic (gives some decorations and ♥♥♥♥♥♥). They might be worth the money if you like the game and enjoy building.

I really love this game, especially for its PvP. The concept is fantastic and surprisingly deep, with a level of complexity that keeps things engaging. That said, it’s incredibly frustrating how the developers have handled it. After making players wait for an entire year, they essentially came back just to announce they’re abandoning the game. That’s honestly hard to believe. Overall, I still think the game itself is great and worth experiencing for what it is. But if you’re asking whether you should buy it now, I’d say no. There are no future updates planned, and not even mod support to let the community carry things forward. In the end, it’s a great game overshadowed by a very disappointing lack of support.

V Rising is a wonderful vampire setting game. The main goal is to overthrow the final boss, but this can only be done with the best equipment: weapons, spells, armor and consumables. To get all this, you will have to defeat about forty intermediate bosses. Each of them leaves skill points and recipes after winning, which open up access to new resources and crafting.

The gameplay is based on exploring the world, collecting materials, creating better and better equipment and, of course, preparing for the next duel with another strong opponent. This creates a clear cycle — exploring new territories, strengthening, overthrowing the next boss, and then moving forward again for progress. I usually have enough new armor for 2-3 bosses, and after that the equipment needs to be improved.

There is no plot in its usual form, but its role is played by descriptions of objects, ENT, and notes about the bosses themselves. These pieces form a general picture of the world. For example, by defeating the Frost Archer, you can find out that she was banished from a certain place. After a dozen bosses, a knight is encountered, whose description says that his sister suffered the same fate. There is an immediate connection between them — besides, both are fighting the player with ice magic.

I definitely recommend the game for purchase. Sometimes it gets boring to run across the floor of the map for a certain resource, but the emotions after defeating the next boss override these efforts.

Played it since the alpha version and early access. Overall best survival dark fantasy game i have played. Bosses, outstanding, battle mechanics, adaptable, building and resources, totallly beyond satisfaction.

The game evolved tremendously from where it started as in the beginging there was only 4 areas to explore. Can play PVE or PVP it doesn't matter you will still have fun. Have 400h on this.

Definately a MUST have and MUST play with or without friends. You'll still be impressed.

Oj powiem że gra dosć mocno wciąga, podoba mi się system kontrolowania czy aby na pewno nasz wampir ma się gdzie schowac przed słońcem. Wystarczy znaleźć troche cienia takiego jak np. cień padający z drzew co też jest mocne w mechanice gierki bo jednak z upływem czasu słońce zmienia pozycję co wiąże się z tym że cień również, ZAJEBISTE! Kolejna spoko sprawa to kontrolowanie poziomu krwi, bo jak pewnie wszyscy wiemy wampir jest głodny :D Przeciwnicy nie są banalni, jednak troche trzeba się napocić ale z czasem da się ogarnąć mechaniki broni i uniki. Osobiście gram jak na razie solo i budowanie naszej twierdzy troche czasu zajmuję, aczkolwiek jest to dość przyjemne :D z minusów hmm... jak na razie nie widze ale to jednak tylko 3 h gry żeby jeszcze coś znaleźć. Bon, après avoir torché le jeu deux fois dont la deuxième en brutal, je me décide à partager ma déception quant aux attentes que j’avais du jeu parce que je trouve qu’il est survendu pour ce qu’il propose en termes de fond, alors qu’il avait un potentiel de fou furieux dans son concept :

• Points positifs (ça va être vite bouclé donc on va commencer par ça) :
- Notre perso est très maniable, c’est très réactif et agréable à jouer, de ce côté-là rien à dire c’est bien foutu.
- Les boss sont bien conçus pour la plupart, et sont très distinctifs, rendant chaque combat différents et cools à découvrir.
- La construction du château est un point fort notable : particulièrement soignée, beaucoup de possibilités, et, même si j’aurais souhaité un poil plus de décos il y en a déjà assez pour être créatifs.
- Univers plutôt sympa, et surtout étonnamment vivant ! Du monde qui se balade partout tout le temps, les entités interagissent entres elles, ça se bat pour défendre une entrée de brigands ou de monstres etc… Et le tout est assez crédible donc beau travail.
De bonnes approches en jouant sur le soleil, l’ail, l’argent, le sacré, le sang que l’on consomme, comme on n’en attendait pas moins pour un jeu sur les vampires.

• Petits points négatifs (on commence soft) :
- Notre personnage est lent… BON SANG QU’IL EST LENT. La lenteur est un problème dans ce jeu, votre personnage "court" comme vous quand vous marchez irl, c’est un enfer, pas de sprint pour compenser, une forme loup pour ""courir"" plus vite, mais même là punaise il est lent et ça demande de lancer une anim de transfo de trois plombes à chaque fois, crise de nerfs garantie à la 300e fois en une heure de jeu ; ce n’est que plus tard et après beaucoup d’investissement que vous pourrez espérer avoir de quoi compenser ça, mais punaise quel enfer.
- Les sorts sont déséquilibrés, seuls quelques-uns vous serviront car bien plus pétés que les autres, et c’est fort dommage, car il y en pas mal ; mention spéciale pour les sorts défensifs que vous spammerez exclusivement quand vous vous rendrez compte que vous ne pourrez pas vous permettre d’être offensif à devoir esquiver 40 projectiles et attaques de boss d’affilée, alors que vous n’avez qu’une esquive toutes les 8 secondes, bravo les gars…
- La map semble grande, et elle l’est. Mais vu que c’est quasiment que des camps qui se ressemblent tous, deux-trois mines, quelques petits villages et des terrains à bâtir pour vos châteaux, en réalité juste la même chose en boucle partout sur la map, ce qui est d’un coup beaucoup moins dingue, dommage encore.
- Certains boss ont été conçus sous acide, j’ai pas d’autre explication, ils sont ridiculement difficiles par rapport aux autres et unfairs au possible.

• Gros points négatifs (et là je vais pondre une nouvelle de 28 pages si je me retiens pas) :
On vous vend un jeu qui est une sorte d’hybride qui cherche à toucher à tout, pour ne pas être grand-chose au final, une sorte de mutant qui n’a pas réellement d’identité propre ; qui vous propose plein de petits concepts sympa, qui semblent s’inscrire dans quelque chose de plus grand et long terme, mais en fait pas du tout ça ne meuble finalement que quelques petites heures de jeu. Mais surtout, le vrai souci, c’est qu’on vous vend une impression de possibilités multiples dans un monde ouvert avec plein de choix, mais le jeu ne se résume en réalité qu’à cycle ultra-répété de : je farme une ressource de mon tier actuel -> je crafte les seuls équipements à crafter pour mon tier pour battre le boss de mon niveau, qui va me débloquer des techno et l’accès à de nouvelles ressources à farmer pour crafter de nouveaux équipements du tier suivant, pour battre le boss suivant qui va me débloquer la techno……… voilà, j’ai résumé l’intégralité du jeu. La totalité de la boucle de gameplay c’est ça. Derrière tous les biomes, les ressources, les équipements, se cache un système de tier : tel biome correspond à tel tier, et on peut y survivre avec les équipements du tier correspondant, qui demandent telle ou telle ressource. Et en vrai dans ce jeu c’est fait de manière hyper ennuyeuse et prévisible (ceux qui ont joué à Valheim comprendront bien la logique, sauf que dans Valheim c’était sympa, pas ici, ça colle pas). De même que le système du "pour progresser il faut battre X boss qui détient la techno pour crafter les items suivants" genre TOUT le jeu est softlock derrière des boss, si vous n’arrivez pas à en battre un vous pouvez désinstaller le jeu vous êtes bloqués, par de moyen de crafter quelque chose de plus puissant pour compenser non puisque c’est bloqué derrière les boss contre lesquels vous galérer.
Puis arrivé loin dans le jeu, on vous sort des events d’incursion façon MMORPG pour farmer une ressource qui vous servira à crafter le tier suivant, puis vous y retournerez jamais, encore un concept qui donne le sentiment de long terme alors que pas du tout, ça sert une heure… Et des trucs comme ça c’est tout le long.
Puis aggros intempestives, de quoi avoir des crises de nerfs en combat contre un boss, vous aurez toujours des mobs qui se baladent droit dans votre combat, et vont vous tuez pendant que vous galérez contre lui… Parlons de la zone d’aggro des boss tiens, un concept d’un autre temps : si vous vous éloignez trop loin du point de départ du combat, le boss va reset et retourner à son point de départ en étant invincible, et regen sa vie à 100 % et vous n’aurez plus qu’à recommencer à zéro… MAIS PARDON C’EST QUOI CETTE M*RDE ?? Ça n’a pas sa place dans ce jeu c’est complètement débile ! Sachant que certains boss vous obligent à reculer pour pas crever, c’en devient inévitable ! Mais put**n c’est même pas une blague sérieux !
Pour finir l’équipement : peu importe les "stats" que vous verrez dessus, ils ne servent à rien si ce n’est vous donner l’impression qu’il y a quelque chose à voir, mais comme tous les équipements sont liés à un tier, ils ont tous strictement les mêmes caractéristiques sans exception : votre puissance est conditionné à votre niveau d’équipement, et relativement à celui de votre ennemi. Mon dieu que c’est c*n, pire système que j’ai jamais vu, vous êtes du coup intrinsèquement pénalisé en voulant affronter un boss de plus haut niveau par exemple, vous obligeant à avoir le stuff du bon niveau pour avoir le droit de l’affronter dans des conditions normales… Sans commentaire.
D’ailleurs, certaines classes d’armes et autres ne se débloquent que vers la fin du jeu, superbe idée à nouveau, comme ça si on débloque la trancheuse qu’on adore, on va en profiter que quelques heures parce qu’après on a tout fini et il est de quitter notre partie, waw mais c’est tellement génial comme idée ça…
Ah, et juste, ne jouez pas le mode brutal, vous perdrez votre temps : tous les problèmes du jeu cités plus haut sont multipliés par 100, c’est le pire mode difficile que j’ai jamais joué dans un jeu vidéo, sans exagération. Je n’ai pris aucun plaisir à le faire, et je le regrette.
En conclusion : un jeu ultra-linéaire et répétitif qui ne sait pas ce qu’il veut réellement être en tapant dans tout mais qu’à moitié, sans variété significative dans la boucle de gameplay ni dans l’exploration et avec de gros soucis d’équilibrage des sorts et des boss, dans un monde super cool mais gâché par un système jour / nuit qui était indispensable sur le papier, mais devient ultra-lourdingue à la longue quand vous devez afk un quart d’heure pour attendre la nuit parce que vous ne pouvez rien faire de jour. Tout est lent, y compris votre perso, et la quantité de ressources astronomiques, pour finalement pas grand-chose, a de quoi donner envie d’arrêter à la longue, vous êtes prévenus. Et tout ça pour quoi ? Pour qu’une fois Dracula vaincu, tout ce que vous avez investi auparavant parte en fumée parce que ça y est, jeu fini, merci au revoir y a plus rien à voir, j’ai trouvé ça assez frustrant.
Donc voilà, il m’a déçu au possible, je ne le conseille pas malgré son univers et de bonnes idées.

I really enjoy this game and find myself losing hours and hours when playing!

My favorite part is all the shenanigans that happens when playing with friends. Did they change the floor plan? Did they drag your body out into the sun for you to die? Did they drag it into the cuck room and lock you in there? Did you spend 15 minutes arguing about how to decorate? Oh the fun.

Highly recommend this game for any solo or group of players looking for a fun time!

I've been playing this in PvE since the first public release, words fail to describe how much I adore this game and replay ot every time a new content comes out.

I could tell you about graphics, but there's plenty of videos that showcase it better. Game play loop? Darn good if you ask me. Boss mechanics remind me of good old days when devs cared about making things unique and interesting.

Just buy it and enjoy it, it's a gem.

I am absolutely in love with this game! The atmosphere is hauntingly beautiful and truly captures that "mystic gothic" vibe that every vampire fan dreams of.

What I Love:
The Building System: The castle construction and interior decoration are top-tier. I spend hours designing my grand manor, and the level of detail you can achieve is satisfying.
Boss Fights: The V Blood bosses are challenging and rewarding. Each fight feels like a unique puzzle that tests your skills and preparation.
The Gameplay Loop: The balance between adventurous exploration and gathering resources to upgrade your kingdom is perfectly tuned.

My Hopes for the Future:
Larger Scale: I hope to see an even bigger map with more diverse biomes to explore.
More Bosses: More legendary foes to hunt down would be amazing.
New Playable Races: It would be incredible if the game expanded to allow us to play as other factions or races found in the world, offering a whole new perspective on the conflict.

Overall, this is a must-play. I can't wait to see how this world grows!

Not a bad game. Everything about it is very well done and I think it's something that many might enjoy. However, I find it repetitive and boring with no longevity. Personally, I dislike the gear score aspect of this game and no way of actually increasing in skill or abilities other than clearing an Act. The castle building and design are fun, but given to us to early, it's about the only thing in this game that would compel you to work towards something, but it's all given to you a bit too quickly. Again, not a bad game, just not my style.

I refunded this game twice trying to get into it but couldn't because of the wonky camera system. On the 3rd try I discovered RetroCamera mod (not ModernCamera) and OMG it's a completely different game as it plays like any other 3rd person game shooter. Get this mod and it will change your life with this game, which is btw, amazing. Play PvE co-op and disable teleporting resource limits (which is intended for PvP play) and if you're solo do 2x resources as it is meant to be a team game. This game would have been amazing if they designed it for PvE first instead of for PvP.
